"Of course!" Acer responds. "Heh, we're called the Earth Special Defense Force for a reason."

"...the what now?" the King asks. "N-nevermind, you can keep the name, but please, we need you all now more than ever."

"Hold on, Slug isn't the only threat here." Chuu Lee comments. "Can't you guys sense it? There's someone else that's almost as strong as him, with their own group of people almost at his level."

"Yeah... I bet it's that Turles guy." Goku adds, trying not to smile. "He seems really tough. I'll be ready to take him on."

Acer scratches his chin. "Yeah, that's the thing. We'll need to split up and have the bulk of us deal with Slug's forces, while our stronger fighters deal with Turles' group, I'd say."

"I'll be on the team to deal with Slug. I know his weaknesses better than anyone else here." Piccolo states.

Raditz nods at the Namekian. "Then I'll go after Turles with Kakarot."

She frowns but nods at you and grumbles out, "When ahm strongah..."

"We'll be going after Slug." Chi-chi comments, nodding to her husband. "Just have to drop off Izumi and we'll be there as soon as possible."

"Master, I'll be joining you against Turles." Chuu Lee adds. "I can sense something... off."

Krillin, Lapis, and Lazuli step forward as well. "We'll help against Slug. Good luck against Turles."

"Same to you, Krillin." Goku says with a grin, bumping fists with his friend. "All right guys, let's go!"

As the teams leave in their respective directions, you sense Launch approaching you all. She seems worried. "Scouted up ahead, guys, this is going to sound crazy but there's a giant tree out in the middle of nowhere! Just like the one on that planet that was comin' at us!"

Shit. "Double-time, people! We've gotta stop this now!" All of you bolt towards Turles' group as fast as you can, you getting in contact with Kami along the way. 'Serious problem, Tree is on Earth!'

It takes a moment for him to reply, and when he finally does you see the thing. Gods, it's massive, how did it just spring up like that? And it seems to just be getting bigger and bigger. Kami's reply is even more worrying. 'I've been in contact with King Kai, the Tree can grow quickly, but this is far too quick. Something has altered the Tree of Might.'

Shiiiiit. As you all move closer, you spot a welcoming committee near the base of it, just outside a ship. Scouter is giving them all readings of... over 100,000?! The largest of the group laughs as you approach. "Hey Daiz, looks like the blue bitch and her crony were right! Two other Saiyans, boss will love speaking to them."

"And what's this, a few little girls with them?" a more human-looking man asks with a snort. "Perhaps you should run home, and be thankful that Lord Turles has chosen this planet as the next host to the Tree of Might."

Launch cracks her knuckles. "Someone just asked to be on the ass end of an ass-beatin'."

Chuu Lee meanwhile seems focused on the Tree. "...Master, it's draining strength from the planet even quicker than before. If this keeps up..."

And there's something off about how it happens, it's like even that is hiding something greater behind it. Chuu Lee and Raditz prepare to face off against the small purple aliens, Goku readying himself to fight against the big guy, Launch staring down the human-looking fighter.

The cyborg alien bolts at you at tremendous speed. Should have taken your advice.

You try to raise your Ki... "RAIO-T-Agh!" ...and get a fist in your jaw before you can, followed by a knee to your gut. The cyborg grabs you by the hair and then flings you away, right at the Tree of Might. You try as best you can to get back up, only to see the cyborg coming at you again, his armor opening up as he begins to pelt you with beams from it.

Out of desperation you use the Explosive Wave to get some distance, your allies doing a bit better than you are. Raditz utilizing the Solar Flare to blind his opponents as Chuu Lee follows through with her Shotenken uppercut, trapping the two purple aliens together and allowing Raditz to start pelting them with quick Ki blasts.

Launch meanwhile is fighting fairly evenly with the human-looking fighter, herself with a clear advantage but her opponent managing to keep pace with a surprising amount of skill. She tries for a Volleyball Fist, and while she manages most of the attack, the ending blow is interrupted by her opponent grabbing her leg and blasting her in the face.

Goku meanwhile is keeping pace with his opponent, holding back his strength and apparently keeping watch out for Turles. You yourself find it odd that you can't really sense the Saiyan directly; you know he's THERE, but you have no idea where he actually is. The thought can wait, as the cyborg bolts down at you again.

It's pretty bullshit how the antagonists did it too - they never go all-out to annihilate something before it can become a threat. Cell...well, I guess cell had an excuse for not being maximum, so he gets off kinda. Buu was legitimately retarded in most forms, so those forms get a pass, but the smarter forms have no excuse.

You try your best to bolt away, but it seems the cyborg has predicted where you'll move. Before you can successfully defend yourself, a quick beam shoots through your chest, searing pain coursing through your body.

"Chuu Lee mentioned it to me just a moment ago, there's something odd about the tree. It seems to be drawing more and more power since we got here. And they're getting stronger too." Goku tells you. "It might be linked. And if they get that much power all at once..."

Plan A might only work if we manage to incapacitate all of them at once, and then somehow blitz all of them down in rapid succession. Another risk involved is that killing one of them may boost the others' powers, since that dead person is no longer siphoning off power from the Tree. This may make taking them on easier at first, but that last dude could get one hell of a power boost.

Plan B seems to just be doing what we've been doing so far, but with different dancing partners.

Plan C might be alright, since Amplify + Super attacks can probably overwhelm defenses before the Tree can leech energy.

In regard to Plan D, I'm a bit unclear as to what "Support Boost" exactly does.

So a variation on Plan C might be a good idea. Either we gather them in one place and then try a combo incapacitate attack, then blast the tree to smithereens, or we do the same to them. Or both, if they're lined up with the tree.

Okay, this is going to be a tough one to pull off, and there are some pretty big risks if you fail... but you've got to try it anyway! You telepathically reach out to everyone, and explain your plan: try to take them out quickly, and pile on one of the opponents, and take them out one after the other, hopefully getting more than one if possible. They'll keep getting stronger if you don't pull this off just right, so it's now or never!

Circling around the cyborg, you and Goku outspeed him, then wait for Launch to slam him in the back of the head with her knee, Raditz and Chuu Lee pulling off their same trick from before and blinding him, then sending him upwards. The other opponents try to pile back on their respective foes, but you and Goku quickly jump at them, elbowing the two purple aliens together right below the cyborg. Chuu Lee prepares her Shinku Kamehameha from below the three, Raditz above with a "special technique" he learned from Piccolo. If it's what you think it is...

You quickly bring up your Spirit Bits around Raditz, merging them to form an Amplifier for his technique. Chuu Lee launches her attack, sucking the two remaining foes in. Goku and Launch take opposite ends and charge up a pair of Kamehamehas with yourself, and then blast them at the cyborg. He at first seems unfazed by the attacks, but then his armor begins to crack. Spotting his opportunity, Raditz roars out, "SPIRAL IMPALER!"

The drilling beam hits your Amplifier and pierced through the cyborg, managing to shatter his armor and allowing him to be overwhelmed by the Kamehamehas. It even manages to take out the two purple aliens below him, both of them falling to the ground dead as the cyborg is vaporized.

You notice the last two fighters manage to get out of the way, and there does seem to be a small increase in their strength... but not enough to match all of you together.

'Piccolo, think the MP Buster might work on the Tree of Might?' you ask telepathically.

'A LITTLE BUSY HERE MAPLE.' he shouts in telepathic response. 'Slug's minions are far stronger than they seemed!'

'Understood, good luck.' Well, that's that option out for now. You turn to your student. "Chuu Lee, can you scout out the tree a bit? You've been good at sensing there's something off about it. Just don't engage Turles if you find him. We'll finish the last two off."

"All right, Master, but be careful." she responds with a nod, bolting away.

"And just where do you think you're going you bitch?!" the larger minions roars, trying to pursue. You and Launch stop him in his tracks with a double gut-punch, kicking him back to Raditz and Goku. The two Saiyans then grab his arms with their tails and land two hard roundhouse kicks to his jaw, then fling him back at his ally. With the two of the fighters together, Launch prepares a Tribeam, you readying the Spirit Bits, with a bit of added lightning, and pummel the two fighters with stunning blasts. You notice them slowly getting stronger, but it's not going to help them when they can't retaliate. Goku and Raditz take turns getting their strikes in, working together to keep the foes off each them and dashing out of the way as you finally bring the Spirit Bits towards Launch, Amplifying her Tribeam. Raditz moves upwards, energy building up in his hands, as Goku blinds the two minions of Turles with a final Solar Flare.

"TRIBEAM... HAAAAA!" Launch roars, the attack blasting down on the two remaining fighters. Raditz strikes them from above, pouring as much Ki as he can into his next attack, the red aura of the Kaio-ken flaring around him. It's enough to get the last two opponents to drop their guard, Launch's attack, combined with your Amplify, finishes them off.

For a moment, you all can actually rest easy.

The Tree of Might is bleeding it dry, and that damn Namekian has started freezing it over." He looks off in the distance. "Though you distracting him is a serious benefit to me. He stole one of the Tree's fruit, could have killed us all if it weren't for the second intervention of that blue woman and her cohort."

Towa, and probably Aza... "Bastard... how many planets have you robbed of life for that kind of strength?"

The Saiyan laughs. "How many loaves of bread have you eaten in your life?"

"You... you're insane!" Launch declares.

"Heard that one before." Turles says with a shrug. "Say... Kakarot, Raditz, why not ditch this dirtball and join your race in glory?"

"No thanks." Goku responds. "I kinda like it here. Got a family, friends, and plenty of rivals."

You raise your hand, making a gun shape. "I disagree. GEIST MAGNUM!"

Turles doesn't react in time. Your attack hits the fruit, destroying it. His eyes go wide with surprise, and then lock onto you with unrelenting fury. "That was a mistake."

You try to put up your guard, but it's too late; wave of Ki washes over you, gravely injuring you. Goku tries to come to your aid, Senzus in hand, but Turles swats him away in rage, taking the beans for himself. You try to push yourself up as you see Raditz and Launch futilely attack him, Turles toying with them for a bit, then quickly knocking them down.

Things start to turn back in your favor, though, as you notice what Chuu Lee meant by 'present;' it's another one of the fruit.

Power flows through her, swirling around your student like a typhoon. With a mighty roar, she bolts into the fray, fist slamming into Turles' jaw hard, knocking him quite some distance away. Everyone around her is stunned, by the sudden surge in her strength. You wouldn't believe it if you didn't see it for yourself, but she's almost matched him in strength.

Goku high-fives the girl, and then the two quickly turn to face a returning Turles. Oh boy is he pissed. "THAT. WAS. A. MISTAKE."

"The only mistake here, Turles, is that you didn't take your chance to end this quietly." your husband retorts, Ki flowing around him. "But maybe we can give you one more chance. Tell me... you know the Legend of the Super Saiyan, right?"

Turles stares at him quietly. "...you're lying."

Raditz picks himself up, laughing. "Oh no he isn't."

"NO." Turles barks at Goku's brother.

That golden aura returns, Goku's hair standing on end. "Then get ready, Turles! Because I can't afford to hold back any longer!" He lets his power explode in a brilliant flash, transforming into that glorious golden monkey that beat Garlic Jr.

The Saiyan tugs at his hair in rage, screaming at the two fighters before him. "NO! YOU... YOU CAN'T BE THE SUPER SAIYAN! AND YOU... YOU BITCH, YOU STOLE THAT POWER THAT WAS RIGHTFULLY MINE!"

"Power you stole from the Earth!" she declares. "You're done, Turles!"

Launch quickly approaches while they have him distracted. "Maple, we need to find some way to deal with the tree."

"Keep an eye out for any extra fruit." you ask, the three of you splitting to search around. The roots of the Tree of Might seem to have stopped their slow crawl through the ground, but how you're going to get this thing off the Earth... "OW." the thought is immediately interrupted by one of the fruits bonking you in the face. Well, that's that! Launch and Raditz manage to recover one each themselves, with yourself finding a fourth one. A roar in the distance alerts you to something wrong, as you suddenly feel Turles' Power Level jump up ten times what it was. Agh... no time!

You have Raditz take the fruit away to the Lookout, and then try your very best to damage the Tree of Might with your Spirit Star, landing on the ground and aiming upwards. The first attack... does nothing. But you're not giving up! You fire again, and again, Launch trying her best with the Tribeam to damage the tree. Finally, a chance lucky strike creates a break in the overgrown premature coffee table. You sense energy starting to leak out of it, returning to the Earth. It's not a lot... but it's something.

Before you can respond, Turles crashes near you... tailless. He pushes himself up off the ground, only to see the remains of the Tree of Might all around him. "No... NO... all that work... ALL THAT WORK WASTED!" Turles slams his fists into the dirt, looking up at you all. "YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!" He slams his fist into the dirt again. "If only... if only I were just a little stronger... I'LL MAKE YOU ALL PAY!"

You, Launch, and Slug stare down at him, your expressions turning to ones of surprise as you notice something... different. Lightning strikes the ground near him. A flash of yellow courses through his hair...

Should Turles get the Super Saiyan form or just a Guardian of the Tree of Might form?

On the one hand, I think he should have to work to achieve the Super Saiyan form, but then again, I do not know what he's been doing on his archaeological digs and bounty hunting all these years, and just how desperate he was to get strong enough to fight Frieza. Fighting Frieza could be something that drives him, or he ould just be an ambitious dick.

Turles does truly despise Freeza, even without knowing of the Saiyan genocide. His thoughts are closer to those of King Vegeta's, that the Saiyans ever bending the knee to him was one of the worst insults imaginable. However, he doesn't jump into the fray and challenge Freeza immediately. He plans for it. Works towards it. He and his late crewmates all had the same goal of killing Freeza and taking over, more or less. Turles became closer than ever before to achieving that goal, humiliating Freeza like Freeza humiliated the Saiyans.

And then Chuu Lee ate the Fruit of the Tree of Might. Goku became the Super Saiyan of Legend. And you and Slug took away the tree from him.
