You're a Cave Hydra, bight and mighty. And recently you did something good, very good. And now you're out for another quest. Or so you hope.

After dealing with the fat human called Kardio Belaskez, your group of adventurers returned to the city for their reward. After that, you've joined them onto their next journey to a place. What place? You have no clue, after two days of moving basically nonstop, you grow tired of doing nothing. That includes hunting.

You were given a wagon which you drag around, most of the things on it is food, for you of course. At first you were happy, but now you don't even have a reason to hunt other than for fun, which kills half the reason for hunting. Right now it's night, and everyone is gathered around the fire.

>Don't be picky, go sleep. You will learn where you're heading.
>Prod the orc, ask where you're going.
>Go for a night hunt, might as well.

You have nothing better to do other than hunt. So you might as well do it, just for the sake of hunting and not just for survival.

Standing up, you stretch yourself and start walking through the forest and into the embracing darkness, away from the heat of the campfire. You walk for a while through the maze of trees, spying with your many eyes for anything sizeable to satiate your need to hunt. However, you have very little luck in doing so, for reasons unknown to you. It puzzles you to no end, because night should be housing big games, carnivorous, but still. All you see is just broken twigs and cold trails that lead to nowhere.

At some point into your hunt, you approach yet another tiny rocky river, which raises your hopes up for something delicious as you remember the crab you've once found. You don't see it yet, but you happily stomp your way through the forest towards the rushing river. The sound of rocks being hit by the liquid sending shivers down your spine. After all, you might be lucky. Or so you hope.

Without care, you nearly break through the line of trees and head out onto the rocky beach. The only thing that stops you in your wake is fear, pure fear.

Right before rustling the bushes, you spot a humongous carnivore. It's hide covered in feathers and scars and its teeth nearly the size of your claws. The pattern of its feathers sends shivers through your body, you can barely see it, and it towers over you in sheer mass and size. The head is bulky in sheer size, it seems like all of your heads stacked on top of each other would still fit into this meat grinder All of this is not what makes you afraid, however. Its eyes is what makes you scared.

They are set forward, nearly shining in the night on their own with a single black dot that seemingly sucks in all light. And they face you, they're frozen, unblinking, It's jaw curved upwards in an never-ending smirk.

You've stumbled upon an apex predator. It's what you want to be, but never will be. You have no idea if it saw you exactly or if its alerted to you making a lot of noise. But whatever you do, you have moments to decide.

"Run. We should run." Says your left.

"Run." Says your right.

You're not big or mighty enough to face off what's twice your size, twice your length and big enough to eat you in few bites.

You leg it, quickly turning away and running as fast as you can. Breathing in and out whenever you can to keep constant source of air for your lungs to keep you moving. But once you hear stomps echoing behind you, you howl in fear, this is getting a bit too much for you. At least in the caves, the only thing big enough to eat you was the Purple Worm, and that was the case for everyone, not to mention, it's sleeping.

You don't notice when the stomps stop, or when you bursts through, panicking, into the camp. You topple the wagon over with your size before wrapping around and panting heavily, from the exhaustion. Everyone perks up and stares at you, extremely confused as to what happened when you were gone.

Well, you've found yourself in a pickle, and you also suppose it's time for them to do make up for the things you did for them.

You stomp your limbs, crying out a howl of danger, waving your head towards from where you came. At first, they don't get a clue, but soon enough they realize what you mean and prop up, weapons ready and circling you, making a formation. They seem to be spooked, probably because there's something that spooked you hard enough to make you ask for help.

However, after time long enough to feel that it's too long, nothing happens. The Predator must've lost your trail at some point, be it thanks to wind or you stepping lightly to run as fast as you can. Soon enough, you hear the Orc doing his magic and you can hear his voice soon after, in a language you can understand.

"..What was that about?"

All of you take a deep breath before nestling down, calming yourself before finally paying attention to your bipeds asking you what happened. You also guess there's no need to lie.

"I had little luck and I've found an apex predator, but thankfully I lost it. It was feathered, humongous and its eyes were cold as deepest stones of mountains." You reply, your heads staying silent in fear of it coming back.

"Wait, what? Are you telling me, that you've came across a Carcharodontosaurus?"

"A what?"

"Carcharodontosaurus Rex, the biggest natural predator stalking all lands?"

"...Yes?"

Holgrum just grabs his head before sitting down, others curiously ask what happened, but from what you understand, he didn't reply.

"Okay, Hisk, Horg, Harbenk. Whatever, it's not here, but we have something to talk about."

"She never pissed on me."

"I'm done." Holgrum turns around and gets closer to the fire, intensely staring at the flames and stretching out his arms towards it to warm up. The rest seem to be rather amused by your talk, but they're also equally confused as to what exactly happened.

You laugh before stepping closer, it seems that Holgrum accepts defeat in battle of words yet again, however, he clearly had a topic to talk over, so now you feel just a little bit bad about this.

You crawl closer, settling down next to the Orc, he still valiantly pretends that you're not here, so your left head nudges him once. He tips to the side just a bit, still ignoring you, so your head pushes him harder.

"WHAT!"

"What is it?"

"..What?"

"You wanted to talk about something."

"Can you finally behave?"

"I am always behaving, what do you mean by saying that?"

"Okay okay, whatever, forget it. Listen. We can't keep going around like this forever."

"No. Forget it. Never. No one will own me." You reply, offended, before backing off, away from the orc and the rest of the party.

He sighs, rubbing his face before talking to the others, Hira seems to be more than happy and leans back, holding back of her head. Edward on the other hand, pokes the fire with a stick, seemingly deep in thought while Cleriori leans forward, supporting his head with his knuckles. They all remain silent for a while, not saying anything until the Elf speaks up something, everyone turning towards her to listen.

Eventually, they start a discussion that ends up in Holgrum sighing, and turning towards you yet again, trying to gain your attention by staring into your eyes.

"What are you going to do now? If you go with us, you know where you will end up.. You know, Beast Guild is not a bad place. You won't be going anywhere, true, but they will take care of you and you will end up in luxury before finding someone worth going on adventure with again. Or something else."

"I am leaving next morning. I will venture out on my own." You reply, going away from the campfire and nestling up for sleep. You basically started this on your own, and there's nothing from stopping you to adventure alone.

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes."

Hulgrim sighs, turning around and relying the information to the group. Hira remains quiet, but it doesn't take an orc to figure out she's very happy about it. Edward remains silent as well while the Elf rustles about and lies down from what you saw.

There's nothing stopping you from falling asleep, so you do just that. Your night isn't too great, but you don't outright have nightmares or any troubles falling asleep because of guilt. Just a very bland night. However, when you wake up, with the sun still under the mountains, making the area look gray and gloomy. And to top it all off, there's only the remnants of campfire left. To your surprise, they took off first.

At least your food wagon is still here, no longer on its side.

"What do we do?" Your heads ask.

You stretch your limbs before shaking about. Once you feel ready to take on the day, you reply to yourself.

"We're going off anywhere. We take the wagon as well."

After filling your stomach up and devouring about one third of what was on the wagon, you wrestle with it. It hooks up with a long line that rests on the bases of your necks, but without anyone to help you put it on, it takes a very time consuming while. But you're undeterred and after 5 minutes or so, you're ready to go on an adventure.

You go in a different direction than the trails left by the four, not wanting to come across them yet again so soon. The forest remains the same, although more alive with small critters. Perhaps the Apex Predator left this general area, something you're happy with. However, the terrain becomes more uneven as you keep going, small hills and holes in the ground making it a bit harsh for you to keep going with the wagon behind you.

However, after some time, you hear sounds of massive ruckus and metal banging against metal, together with wild sounds of animals, just from beyond the edge of the tree-line. Curious, you approach, this time slowly and carefully.

When you get out of the forest edge, you are greet with an immense drop down, it appears you were on a hill. The drop is nearly full 90 degrees, yet covered with grass. But what's truly interesting, is the thing marching through the middle of the valley.
(cont.)

>>46225689

Tons, TONS upon TONS of armor clad men slowly walk through the grassy canyon of sorts. The most prominent colors you see are red and black. With red on their torsos and black on their limbs. The amount of these bipeds is insane. It's like a cluster of insects, but upscaled to a dangerously high size. Some of them use horses to walk. But the more interesting thing you spot are the Mammoths that drag luggage of immense size, about half of theirs. Then around the edges of this blob, you spot other various animals. Even in the air you spot red and black birds flying about.

Some of them you believe spotted you, as seemingly turn their face covered heads towards you without stopping their march.

"What is this?"

"We will follow them." You reply, your right you being very much amused with that decision.

You wait first however, not wanting to get in front of this massive blob. Once they moved a bit forward, you started to move with them, going the same direction, but parallel to them. You also make sure not to fall from basically the cliff, it'd be very painful if you did slip and tumble down.

It doesn't take long before your appearance is fully noticed and reacted to. After few minutes of your walk, suddenly a group of five wolves, about the size of Redclaw, burst through the open plain and up the hill, carrying bipeds on their back. Each of them holding an axe in each of their hand.

Before you can turn around, they're already basically at your feet. Each of the wolves growl with hostile intentions, but don't truly close the distance, keeping a safe gap between you and themselves. You must admit their strength to stay on such sheer hill.

"Who are you!?"

The biggest wolf barks out.

>You won't take anything from someone so small, even if there's 5 of them. Attack.

"I'm just watching, who are you?" You say, turning towards the, what you presume to be, alpha. Your heads swaying about but constantly above him.

"I asked first, Hydra." He says, stepping forward, as well as the rest of the group. Their bipeds preparing their weapons.

"Make me answer, pup." To which you reply, your eyes intensely staring at the alpha unblinkingly. Your tone low and words carried with a growl. This intense battle of tenacity takes long for such battle, but after a while, the Wolf's head lowers before making a step back. That's right, you're unquestioned in this intimidation battle.

"I'm Vulpes. I belong to the Federation Army of the Erago City States." He replies after remaining silent for a while. But once he answers, his cockiness fires up yet again, and with a growl, asks you again.

"Who are you, Hydra?"

>"Half of your words have no meaning to me. Explain."
>"Left me is Hisk, I'm Horg, right me is Harbenk. I have no idea what those words mean."
>"I'm just a Cave Hydra, unnamed by bipeds because I don't need names."
>What else?

"Left me is Hisk, I'm Horg, right me is Harbenk. I have no idea what those words mean." You reply truthfully after settling your dominance over this group, funnily enough, the humans don't seem to realize that. Although they remain calm, as if they knew that you're talking right now.

"What do you mean you don't know? You're named yet you don't know human terminologies?"

"Do you have a problem with that?"

"Yes."

"Are you certain?"

He doesn't reply, only scoffs in irritation, he's still afraid of you, and because of him being the leader, it affects everyone else as well, so no one questions your authority.

>So you're not tamed by Erazmo States.. What are you doing here?"

>"I am adventuring. You happened to cross my path and gain my attention. Where are you going?"

I have a dislike of the undead. If you know of any places full of them, point me in the direction.

That's not an option to pick. I just fucked up writing and I didn't spot the mistake.

I'm adventuring, throw something in about us being a paladin for all that is righteous.

"I am adventuring. You happened to cross my path and gain my attention. Where are you going?"

"We will siege one of nearby enemy cities."

"Siege?"

"Attack the city walls to attack the city itself." He replies, seemingly annoyed that you know so little about this situation

"You really were just.. Adventuring?" He asks however, clearly confused at this coincidence of a happening between you and him.

"What else you want me to tell you? I stumbled upon you and that is it. I am going my own way because I got bored of living in my caves with the dwarves."

He remains silent yet again for a little bit. But after few seconds, his ears perk up and his eyes seemingly gleam with an idea that he just came up with. This is all joined by the fact that he also.. Smiled at you.

"I have a suggestion for you if you're bored."

"What is it, pup?"

"Join us in our attack."

Oh. That is a suggestion and a half in fact. You will have to think this through if you have to be honest.

>END OF THREAD.

QnA anyone? Also heads up, next time I run, I won't be able to stick for this long. I got lucky this time.

Awwww come on!! Just as we about to get our siege on!

Nah I joke boss.
>>
>>46227023
So, no goodbyes, eh?
>>
>>46227023
Thanks for running Daboss.

Any world tips you think would be okay to drop? Stuff like level of magic and such. It seems fairly high magic from what has been seen. Are you surprised that we decided to leave the group?
>>
>>46227023
Thanks boss.
Too bad we left the party.
>>
>>46227023

Well. It's going to be rather.. Medium-high from what I am thinking. After all, one of original picks for the beast MC had a Blue Ape, which has innate resistance to all things magical.

And nope, all expected. I'd be bit more surprised if you decided to stay if I have to be honest.

>>46227152
Heads up. I will eventually switch up to one thread a week after some time because my school's back up again. I can return to neeting out quests full time after May however.

And nah guys, IT'S YOU WHO'S GOOD. YOU MAKE THIS QUEST, NOT ME.
>>
>>46227196
Why was Hira pissed at Hydra again? I mean before we gave her a reason
>>
>>46227545
I will say this much: Feels were, or are rather, involved.
>>
>>46227196
Dang i missed the last one i gotta catch up. Last i remember we had left redclaw and found an orc with a menacing stick and a rock thing in a room of creatures.
>>
>>46227196
I wish i could have notifications of when you are up. Itd be cool if sites like roll20 were able to have these types of adventures.

This is the next thread anon. Just a small timeskip because I honestly had no other clue how to continue from that point.

Tis where I announce when I play and what not.

I'm really glad that you guys like the quest. Finally I did something right for once in my sad short life.
>>
>>46227703
Wait so is redclaw alive? I forget nature babes name, is she Hira?
>>
>>46227787
Yes, Redclaw's alive and with his owner. Elia, the Nature's Attendant, is well too and your group was late to the party as usual.
