The sun was shining brightly as you watched the gravedigger filling up the last bit of your old masters grave, Ser Ector. It had almost been ten years since your mother had sold you to him for a pouch full of silver and he got to lay with her seven times, a story he had often enjoyed telling you about again and again every time he had a drink. You never liked the man, but he had taught you everything you knew about fighting and riding, not to mention foraging, living off the land while on the go.

Countless of fights and close calls and it all ended with him shitting himself to death. You took a small moment to look across the field of unmarked graves, getting used to the fact that the only father figure in your life was now gone. You were alone, well not entirely alone. A impatient scrapping of hooves against the ground behind you revealing Dontos, your masters old horse. A grumpy, mean, old Rounsey. As you walked over to him you remember the first time you met him, you had tried to give him an apple and try to win his friendship and as a result he bit your arm and ate the apple. You patted him on the head and he gave a annoyed whine in return.

“I know you dont like me and I dont like you. But it is only us two now. So if you dont want a quick visit to the butcher you better get used to it.”

He merely blew some air through his nostrils but made no further complaints when you mounted him. As you rode down the road towards the the small town laying right next to Cider Hall of House Fossoway. Your masters original plan was to head to Tumbleton for a tourny in celebration of the restoration of the city after the Dance of the Dragons. You had offered your service to Lord Fossoway but his steward's assistance had informed you that they had no need of 'vagrants' You could always do as originally planned or try find some manner of work.

Alright, going to Tumbleton. Writing

You saw no reason to change the original plan but the question were if you would go by boat or by land.

Going by land would take a longer time, nothing you would need to be too worried about, but you could never know on the road and if you were lucky you could probably find something to earn a few bit of coin.

By boat you would get there faster but it would cost you quite a fee as the ferry captains had raised the price on ferrying to borderlining piracy. But you would have very little to worry about, you would be able to relax throughout the journey

You headed back to the inn you and your master had stayed at to pack, it did not take long as one of the few qualities of your master was that he was orderly when it came to his equipment and property. Ready to leave you slowly rode through the streets of the town you patted your pouch, frowning a bit. You had spent a bit more on Sara than you probably should have. Sweet Sara, she was lovely but expensive. Hopefully a good preformance at the melee would help on that.

You made your way through the busy streets on Cider Hall Town. It was tightpacked and full. You barely managed to keep Dontos from biting a terrified random passerby who got a bit too close to him. When you finally exited the town it was with some relief, you ignored the suspicious look the guards gave you and headed towards the gathering place for merchants. After some looking you finally found a merchant that was willing to hire you.

“The name is Tomas, Tomas the Merchant they call me.” He take your right hand in both of his and give it a shake. “I could always use more guards. The Reach may look safe but you can never be certain what lurks in the night or behind the trees. I am heading to Long Table. I am willing to give you fifteen silver stags now and thirty-five when we get there, I will make sure to feed both you and your horse while we get there, sounds fair, no ?”

You scratched your chin as you eyed the short, thick merchant up and down. He seemed a honest enough sort. You looked behind him and noticed a small dark haired girl, could be no more than ten sitting on the edge of the stocked cart, swining her legs into the air looking bored. Behind him sat a mean, gruff looking man another hedge knight. He was tall, taller than you and built like an ox. Not doubt someone he had already hired.

“I accept master Tomas a fair price for fair work” You were hardly in a position to argue the price, a hedge knight such as yourself came star a dozen.

“Excellent!” He grabbed your hand again and shaked it wildly “Its a deal then! Olena, get ready, we are leaving soon!” he hurried on the girl who quickly moved to the front of the cart, waiting impatiently. The other hedge knight removed his helmet, revealing his bald head but with a full thick blond beard. The man had a mean look in his eyes but gave you a respectful nod as he sent his horse into a slow trot

It didnt take long before you were well on your way. Long Table were on the rode to Tumbleton and the way was on one long road. It should be no trouble at all. The bountiful fields on the Reach stretched itself as far as the eye could see with only a few towns and villages scattered around. You kept your eyes peeled on the look for trouble, but things were quiet. Olena, the small girl had moved to the back of the cart, chewing on an apple. Dontos had a mean look in his eyes at her and the apple but you managed to keep him in check. The other hedge knight remained quiet with the only sound being an occasional cough.

You pressed Dontos away from the cart as Olena tried to move a hand out to pet Dontos only for him to snap at her. She glared at him and pushed out her tongue at him as she held her hands close. You came over to the side of the hedge knight. He remained quiet for a while but then took off his helmet and gave you another nod.

“Names Joffrey ser, may I ask of yours ?” He looked at you for a bit, chewing his cheek. “Sandor. Sandor of Goldshire. You headed for the tourny in Tumbleton as well ?” He peered at you with a curious look.
“Aye I am, hoping to win a bit of coin. Some fame and prehapes if I am lucky a couple of wenches” To that he let out a hearty laugh. He turned his attention to the road before giving you a quick glance.

“With those rags I doubt you will be able to participate in the joust. But I guess there is always the melee. You need plate” He banged his mailed fist on his breastplate. “Otherwise you will just get yourself killed or worse, laughed off the stage”

To that you could only nod. He was right, you would like to joust but plate was expensive, very expensive.

“I myself am going to joust and not only am I going to joust I am going to win” he lifted up a tightly clenched fist. “On that I promise. Mayhaps I will even let you join my victory party!” He let out another hearty laugh. You continued to make small talk, finding out that he was apparently the only boy in a sibling flok of seven. That he was a son of a miller in the Westerlands. As the day marched on and you made stop for the night, making a small camp around the cart.

“Joffrey you will take the first watch, Sandor the second.” Tomas said as you wolfed down your meager food, a piece of roasted bacon a piece of bread and an apple. As the night passed on and people went to bed things began to grow quiet, only small critters and bugs could be heard.

As the firewood was burning you yawned as you rubbed your eyes and took a nother swing from your wineskin. Your sword resting easy on your knees. Then you ears picked up something, a cough ? You slowly looked around, trying not to draw attention to whatever was lurking in the tall grass behind you. You began to move up and walked over to the cart, pretending to take something as you nudged Sandor with your foot. He grunted annoyed as he woke up.

“Sandor, Sandor. There is something or someone here” you whispered as quietly as you could. The older hedge knight look up at you with the annoyed look quickly dissapeared. He remained quiet as he quietly reached for his bastard sword laying next to him. You glanced at the tall grass behind the camp and you noticed the grass moving. Someone was here. Then you noticed a figure and then a second one. They moved towards you, slowly at first but then speed up as they got closer.

Banditry and bandit waifus when?
>>
>>47118368
Never.
Banditry is neither stable nor courageous, and won't fuel our ambitions. And bandit waifus are shit. In fact, no waifus at all, at least not for some time to come. We're a hedge knight, a wanderer, we can't settle down with a waifu.
>>
>>47118450
Banditry is actually not bad systemwise, building a bandit house is entirely possible as a hedgeknight. Winning battles gets you glory which can be spent on house resources, and if you can get a unit of peasants, criminals or guerillas you can contextlessly assault enemy armies, win from suprise factor and start building up some sort of mountain clan/rebel house/robber barony quite easily. It would be a really cool game, staying one step ahead of pursuers and gradually building up an unstoppable crew, looting along the way.

It's really fun that the system can actually represent a landless house.
>>
You unsheated your sword as quietly as you could. You had your back turned to what was no doubt robbers of some kind. You looked down towards Sandor and noticed that the man was sleeping in his armor. Your muscles tensed as you could hear them approach when suddenly one of them appears and spread out his arms triumphantly. “Haha! Another easy prey to the Shadow Dragon! Drop your weapons and I will spare your li-oh shit!” your charge at him together with Sandor who quickly throws off his blanket. 'Shadow Dragon' tries to block your attack but is too slow as your sword cuts down deep into his shoulder. The man lets out a gurgle noise, trying to scream which you quickly interupt with a kick to his crotch. The second robber tries to flee but Sandor grabs him by the arm and throws him to the ground and stomps him on the head intill his skull shatters.

The noise quickly wakes up the rest of the camp. The horses whines and tramples around trying to get away in a panic, Dontos looking like he wants to fight, stomping angrily, trying to move towards the robbers only being held back by the rope around his neck. Olena wakes up and lets out a ear piercing scream and begin to wail as her father hurridly moves to her to comfort her. Tomas grabs his daughter around the waist, holding a knife pointed at the bandits. Shock and fear is clear in his face. It takes some time but things finally calms down. Sandor goes through the robbers pockets while you see to the horses. Tomas tries his best to comfort his sobbing daughter who clings to him.

“Dont got much on them. A few pieces of pennies, each got a small sword. You want one of them Joff ?” Sandor looks to you as he kneels at the dead man. You nod as you take the offered sword.
>>
>>47118599
“Who do you think they were ?” you ask as you inspect it. It was of rather poor craftmanship but it could do the work if it had to. “Well I believe it may have been a bunch of cutthroats with too high opinion of them self” He gives 'Shadow Dragon' a small kick. “It just goes to show the roads arent as safe as one could hope. The Seven I am happy I hired you both. Thank you, thank you both so much.” Tomas interject. Still holding his daughter close who at least has stopped crying. The rest of the night goes on without any problems and you are quickly on the road again. The birds sings and the crops sway lazily in the breeze.

Ooh, we fight NASTY. I like it.
Looking at our stats, and only being passing familiar with the system, it seems like we could work towards being deceptively fast. Brin out a big sword, everyone expects us to be like a big slow juggernaut, then we just rain blows down on them, fast as lightning.
>>
You were now half way to Long Table. The road was straight ahead. But oddly enough Tomas pulled the cart onto a small dirt road leading towards a small forest. This was not the way to Long Table. You did not like this one bit and Tomas himself had begun to look more and more nervous. Olena was sleeping quietly in the back of the cart while Sandor was looking at Tomas with some skepticism.

However, this is very reliant on having points in warfare, since getting enough resources to get skilled troops is hard. With one point of warfare we will auto fail at commanding any green troops with the exception of personal guard and cavalry. Alternatively it requires being strong enough to destroy a unit personally which we can't do yet.
>>
You push your horse up to Tomas and give you a skeptical look. “This isnt the road to Long Table, where are we going ?” Tomas looks at you nervously. “D-dont worry. We will merely do a quick stop a-and then we will be on our way again” You didnt like the answer and neither did Sandor by the look of it. He rested his hand on the pommel of his sword keeping his eyes on the trees around you. You about to give him a piece of your mind as he stops on the midde of the road. Olena sitting next to him, putting her hand in his and give him a comforting smile. You scan the forest around you and notice the tree next to you have the a weird triangle mark scratched into it. You had a sick feeling in your stomach. You put your hand on your sword when you hear a voice. “Wouldnt do that if I were you.” A boy appears from the trees. “Good to see you again Tomas, got the wares ?” A woman. She was wearing mens clothes and could easily pass off as a tall boy or prehapes a rather andrognous man. She gives you a wicked smile “You wound me Tomas. Taking guards to our little rendezvous” You finally see a small group of men appearing to your left and right as they quickly surround you. “You wound me Tomas. It looks to me that you may thought you could cheat me again” She feigned hurt. Holding a hand to her chest.

“Ofcourse not my dear. H-hehe. And ofcourse, ofcourse. They are there. Jus-just help yourself to them and we will be off” You narrowed your eyes as you removed your hand from your sword. You then noticed the crossbow men among the trees aiming at you. You stood quiet. Trying your best to keep Dontos under control as the men began to take crates off the cart and restocking it with their own. As you returned you attention to their leader she gave you a small wink “Dont worry pretty one. We wont hurt you.” You frowned in response, clenching your fist.

It took a while but they finally finished their job and began to dissapear into the woods once more. You glared at Tomas. Just what in the Seven Hells did he get you into. This was suppose to be a quick escort job. Get Merchant from Point A to Point B and now you were dealing with bandits and what not.

You grind your teeths but keep the anger inside of you.the journey out of the woods goes without a word. As you continue down the road you join up with a group of travelling minstrels. One of them plays a merry tune on his flute, lightening the mood somewhat. It takes a few days but you finally enter Long Table. You pass through the guards without any trouble but it take some time getting through the busy streets. Intill you finally reaches a warehouse. As the workers begin to unload the the cart Tomas approach you with your pay.

“Here you go friend. Thirty-five silver stags as promised and a additional five due to... 'circumstances'” You take the coin with a nod remainning quiet. You notice that the only crates there were being unloaded was the ones you were given by the group in the forest “I-Is there any chance I could convince you to escort me to Grassy Vale Ser Joffrey ?” Tomas ask you with a apologetic look. “I will pay you another fifty Silver Stags if you do so. Ser Sandor has already declined and made his way to Tumbleton.” That surprised you, he didnt even say farewell. No doubt he was not amused by the business that had happened.

His young daughter however came up to you. “Thank you ser.” She gave you a wide small and offered you a delicious looking red apple. You took it happily as you exited the warehouse taking Dontos by the reins. You wanted to get to Tumbleton and once again you stood with the same choice as before. By land or by boat. You press Dontos towards the house. He is too tired and too wet to compalin and docile allow himself to get pushed. You knock on the door hard, the rain pouring down on you as you hear a deep voice from inside “Whos there?! Im warnin' ya I got me four sons in here, armed to the teeth and as big as bulls!”

The door slowly opens are you see a large man with big red beard holding a meat cleaver. He eyes you up and down and then looks behind you to see if anyone else is there. “Gerold! Let the poor man inside. He is soaking wet!” You notice a rather large red haired woman behind him holding a rolling pin. You quickly get shown inside while Dontos get to stay in a small outhouse with some food so atleast he will be dry.

You get some clean clothes on and get invited to dinner. As you sit at the table you notice he did not have four sons as big as bull but a rather lovely daughter. Red haired as her father and mother with a few freckles and a rather large bust. You couldnt help but notice.

“Nasty weather. Its a sign!” the miller exclaim. “We are heading towards dark times!”

His wife sighs “You always think we are heading towards dark times. Whatever the sun is shinning or its raining, if it is summer or winter. Now stay quiet with your doomsaying and eat” the miller grumbles annoyed as he does as he is told. The daughter remains meek and quiet, offering you a occasional glance. It was nice with something proper to eat. Some roasted lamb with fresh bread and potatoes and some gravy you werent sure of. As the hours grows long the daughter shows you to the room. A small one with a small table next to a bed.

“Is everythin' to your likin' ser or is there anythin' ya like” she blushes a bit rubbing one foot against the floor, holding her right arm in under her bust, pushing it up while looking away.

You nod. “Aye there is.” you walk over to hand take her by the hand. She trembles and look away, her face as red as a tomato. You lead her to the bed and begin to help her undress. Her dress falls to the floor and she meekly climb onto the bed. She looks at you with baited breath as you remove your shirt and climb onto the bed with her. It had been a while since you last had a woman. Although not as experienced as the last one you had she was eager, her mouth and hands exploring where they could.

She was soft to touch and she gasp as you pressed yourself against her. The lightning and thunder outside covered your passionat love making as you pressed yourself to release.

So thank you for those of you who stuck with me. and i would like to apologise for my slow and rather lackluster updates. First time QMing and i was woefully underprepared.

But i appreciate it. Hopefully next thread will be on friday same time.

Not bad, it's nice to play as something else than a lord and being that far away from the current time ought to make things easier
>>
>>47121829
Well that was interesting. Thanks for the run.

Thank you. Hopefully up is the only way this will go.

Also the thread has been archived.
>>
By the way. You guys got three destiny points. Is there any qualities you would like to spend them on ?

Hmm you sure our goal is stability? the table point out that it is our motivation.
I can only guess that we don't want to stay a hedge knight forever and aspire to be landed either by becoming a bannerman or a proper lord
>>
>>47122004
How about we keep them for now
>>
>>47122066
Sounds fair enough.

>>47122050
Yeah, my bad. I will kind let the goal be up to you guys. be it fame, mastering a certain skill, love or so on. As long as it somewhat makes sense for the character as i have some doubts that Joff would care much for Knowledge pr Enlightenment

Why not enter the service of a powerful Lord?
>>
>>47122146
a perfectly good goal. It would offer ability and is far, far more realistic.
>>
>>47122050
Enter a Lords service. Go full knight, fight like a demon. Get us a patch of land for our service, nice tower to go with it.

Drag ourselves up from the gutter, a whoreson to a landed knight. No wattle and daub for us, we're destined for good stone walls!

Well in 12 years time a certain dragon could use all the knights he can get

Rightful king! targaryens are nothing but pretenders!

Agreed with them, service to a lord seems like the smoothest route to achieve ol' Joffrey's goals.
>>
>>47122146
The question would be, which powerful Lord?
Being an hedge knight we could stay in the Reach or go all the way to Winterfell
>>

>>47122642
Hard Mode: an Ironborn Lord asked us to enter his service.
Dante Must Die Mode: The soon to be Lord Chancer will ask us to enter his service.
House Harrock Mode: You enter service to House Harrock
>>
>>47122642
Honestly any Dornish House would be good. They don't look down on bastards like the rest of Westeros.
>>

How does knighthood work in the North? I'm a little vague on it since knights seem to build their ceremony around their vows to the Seven.
Perhaps in the more southern houses like the Manderlys who would bring on "proper" Southern knights.
>>
>>47122782
Not many Knights up North, but lots of "basically a knight", who just didn't do the whole vows in a Sept thing.
>>
If Joffrey does insanely well at the tourney then I say we continue on to the next tourney to build our rep and see where it takes us.
However if we do okay or mediocre we should see what houses are willing to bring us on before moving on.
