It's time to get a bit creative.

You haven't used this technique since the last World Martial Arts Tournament, when you used it against Goku. There's a chance Kami doesn't even know it exists.

Stretching your arms out to your sides, you move them at an incredible speed, creating the illusion that you have eight arms.

Kami's eyes go wide behind the glasses, and you rush in to attack.

The speed of your attacks immediately puts him on the defensive, the constant motion of your hands making it difficult for Kami to track where your attacks are coming from. He's quickly forced into a retreat as he does his best to fend off your rapid flurry of strikes.

He can only do so for so long, and soon you land a punch that catches him in the face, knocking his head back and breaking his defense, allowing you to land several more hits on him.

Just as Kami would have wanted, you hold nothing back, striking with all of your power and making sure each punch leaves a mark. But, he doesn't let you continue forever, and makes a quick use of the Afterimage technique to get out of there.

By tracking the vibrations in the air, you learn that he's behind you, and spin around expecting an attack. Instead, you find him standing across the ring, holding his right palm out toward you, gripping his wrist with his left hand.

You hold out your hands, readying yourself for the energy attack that's sure to come. You channel energy to your palms, and let the outside of them become coated in it, your method of deflecting such attacks without letting your body take damage.

The attack comes, and a wave of light explodes from Kami's palm. You stand strong, holding out your hands and letting the blast come. It strikes your hands, pushing you back several feet before you're able to send it up into the sky.

You feel vibrations in the air behind you, but it's too late to act, and Kami delivers a kick to the back of your head, sending you slamming face-first into the ground and sliding across the ring.

You roll onto your back and spring back up, just in time to see Kami come rushing toward, you, pulling back for a punch.

Before Kami can make his attack, you quickly direct the energy in your body upward, opening your mouth and releasing it in a beam of light.

The attack strikes Kami full-force, throwing him away from you and across the ring, actually managing to push him out of bounds. However, as Kami can fly, this does not end up winning you the match. Instead, he stops himself from falling to the ground, and floats back into the ring, dropping back into a fighting stance.

He chuckles at you. "I guess you aren't the only one who gets a little careless. Nice shot."

He seems pleased by what you just did, and you suppose it makes sense that he would want his student to perform well.

Still, you can tell he isn't beaten yet, and that you'll need to do much better than that if you want to win against him.

In any case, you have an attack in mind; one favored by the man Kami defeated in the end of the preliminaries.

You rush across the stage, quickly covering the distance between yourself and Kami as you picture a wolf running alongside you. You hear it howl as you make your move.

"WOLF FANG FIST!"

You open with a clawstrike, only for your attack to pass right through Kami, who appears behind you and repeats the same move he used to open the match.

A powerful gust of wind slams into your back, throwing you off your feet and sending you flying from the ring. You go soaring over the heads of the crowd, going higher and higher into the air.

You turn around just in time to see Kami come flying for you.

You rush down toward Kami, moving at full speed and striking hard.

His eyes go wide just before your fist connects, his shock and lack of any sort of preparation making you wonder what exactly he intended to do.

Your attack has greater effect than it probably should have, due to Kami's lack of preparation for it. The punch sends him plummeting back to the ring, where he lands on his back with enough force to crack several tiles.

"Shen has hit the ground!" the announcer shouts from below. "It looks like Tofoo's attack has done some serious damage. I'll begin the count! One!"

Kami isn't finished, and you know he's about to rise before it ever happens.

Before the announcer gets past three, Kami's back on his feet, staring up at you with a smirk on his face.

"You got me again, Tofoo!" he calls up to you in an amused tone. "But you won't see this next attack coming!"

If Kami's being honest about whatever trick he has up his sleeve, it's going to be something you aren't prepared for. Speed or defensive strength may not be enough to stop whatever he has planned, so you decide to get a bit tricky.

Kami and Piccolo were once two parts of the same being, so it feels only fitting that you use the attack that allowed you to defeat Piccolo to give yourself an edge against Kami.

Then again, Kami isn't so foolish as King Piccolo was, so you think that it may be prudent to trick him.


You cup your hands at your side, but direct your energy downward into your feet while giving the appearance of preparing a standard Kamehameha Wave.

"Ka.....me....." you begin.

"You're too far away!" Kami shouts from below. "I'll just dodge it!"

"Ha.....me....." you continue, gathering the last of your energy into your feet.


"I thought Mr. Popo taught you the consequences of being so reckless," Kami says in a disappointed tone. "Maybe I was right, I guess you aren't-"

You turn yourself upside down.


"HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!"

A massive wave of energy shoots from your feet, propelling you down toward the ring at lightning speed.

Once again, you catch Kami entirely unawares, his surprise and your speed giving him no time to use whatever technique he had planned on as you collide with him.

The force of the impact shatters the ring beneath your feet, causing both you and Kami to fall beneath it. Your momentum sends you both tunneling through the dirt for several seconds, and when you come to a halt, you've landed on top of Kami.

He's stunned for now, but you doubt that your last attack will be the end of this fight. But, you've disoriented him well enough where you have the chance to try out one of your new techniques.

It was on Kami's own Lookout that you developed the Lightning Punch. Now, you have the chance to test it in combat for the first time on the very person whose training made its existence happen.

Clenching your right hand into a fist, you focus your energy, relocating a portion of it there, while also altering its state, converting it into electricity.

Sparks dance along your fist, providing some illumination in the dark hole. You can hear the sounds of the crackling electricity as you raise your fist, striking down and hitting Kami in the face.

The Guardian cries out in pain, both from your punch and the shock that accompanies it. His entire body makes a quick convulsion before going still.

Grabbing Kami by the collar, you pick yourself up and fly from the hole in the ground, quickly surfacing and hovering above the ring.

The crowd gasps at your sudden appearance, and the announcer quickly makes note of the injured and incapacitated appearance of your opponent.

For a moment, you consider doing something a bit over-the-top, like a suplex, but Kami begins to stir, and you decide that screwing around in a match like this is probably a really stupid idea.

Before Kami can get his wits back, you toss him away, watching as he falls outside of the ring, landing on his back right in front of the wall that separates the fighters from the audience.

The crowd erupts into cheers, and you can see Goku grinning up at you from his spot beside the ring. Bulma, Roshi, Oolong, Launch, and even Lapis and Lazuli cheer for your victory. But, you notice someone else watching.

Piccolo stands on the roof of the contest hall, arms crossed as he frowns in your direction. Unsurprisingly, he was watching your match, probably to gauge your power. He doesn't seem worried, but then again, you didn't use your full strength.

"Tofoo is the winner!" the announcer calls. "For those of you who haven't been paying attention, this means he will be fighting Mercenary Tao in the semifinals!"

The cyborg in question also seems to have been watching your match from the side of the ring, and the smirk on his face tells you that your destructive performance has done nothing to make him any less eager for this confrontation.

You suppose that if he can shrug off a move like the one Tenshinhan used, there isn't a whole lot that can scare him.

"The next match will be Piccolo vs Chichi!" the announcer reminds the crowd. "But, once again, we need to fix up the ring, so please be patient as we make the necessary repairs. In the meantime, feel free to visit any of the wonderful-"

"Your strength, speed, and technique are superb," he continues. "And your creativity in battle is admirable. You were able to greatly surpass my own power, and that's no small accomplishment."

Kami then smirks. "Of course, I'm weaker in this body than I would have been in my own, but I'm fairly confident that you would have defeated me even were I at my full strength."

His expression turns serious. "However, you still made more than one careless mistake. When you battle Piccolo, you cannot afford to do such things. He will not hesitate to kill you if he's given the chance. So, whatever you do, do not give him that chance."

"Good," he says, sounding satisfied as he gives you a nod. "You've proven that you have the power to face Piccolo, but do not forget that raw strength alone does not decide the outcome of such a battle. Good luck."

Kami heads for the contest hall, and you decide to head that way as well, hoping to find Chichi before the next match can begin.

As Kami reaches the building, Goku stops him, asking to speak with him in private. The Guardian agrees, and the two lift off the ground, flying off into the distance.

Krillin watches them go, a befuddled expression on his face. As you pass him, he looks your way.

"What was that all about?" he asks.

Promising to explain later, you go into the contest hall, finding Chichi as its sole occupant.

She stands in the center of the hall, throwing punches, kicks, and chops into the air. She still has that expression of intense determination, and her technique is absolutely flawless.

Training with Krillin has clearly allowed her to become an extremely skilled fighter, and in any of the previous tournaments you competed in, she would have had a chance of emerging victorious. But, against someone like Piccolo, the difference in power is simply too great for her to have a hope of achieving victory.

She doesn't pay any attention to you until you get close, at which time she halts her attacks, and turns to face you.

"If Krillin sent you to talk me out of the match, you're both wasting your time," she tells you sternly. "I'm going to fight Piccolo, and that's that!"

"Krillin didn't send me," you promise. "And, I'm not going to tell you to give up, even though I think you're outmatched, I can see that you're too determined to see this through."

Chichi's expression softens, and you find no longer being under her glare to be a nice improvement.

"But, I am going to tell you to be careful," you continue. "Give it your all, but know when to throw in the towel if things don't go well. Krillin would be crushed if anything happened to you."

Chichi lets out a sigh, looking down. "That's why I have to do this, Tofoo. Because I would be crushed if anything happened to him. This monster already took him away from me once, and I'm not going to let it happen again."

She looks back up. "I trained so I wouldn't have to worry about losing him again, and so that he would never get hurt trying to protect me."

Chichi doesn't say it, but you can tell what she means; "I don't want to get him killed protecting me like you did."

"I'm not the same scared little girl you saved all those years ago," she tells you. "And I'm not too helpless to protect the man I love."

"Well then, good luck," you tell her.

"Thank you," she replies, giving you a smile.

Repairing the damage you and Kami did to the ring will probably take some time, so you decide to go and talk with your friends.

Chichi resumes her practice as you make your way out of the contest hall, throwing punches and kicks into the air in preparation for a match she can't hope to win.

You understand Krillin's fear, and why he doesn't want her to fight in this match, but you can also see where she's coming from. You'd do anything to protect the people you care about, even if that meant going into a fight you had no chance of winning.

Leaving the contest hall, you look around for your friends, trying to locate them in the vast crowd. It should have been a fairly difficult thing to do, but gunfire gives you a pretty good idea of where to look.

Taking off into the air and flying toward the sound, you aren't surprised to find Launch with a pair of guns in her hands, firing toward one of the stalls.

What you do find surprising is Lapis firing back at her from behind the stall, and the fact that he's laughing to himself himself while he does it.

Bulma, Master Roshi, Oolong, Puar, Yamcha, and Lapis are all standing nearby, watching with disbelief as the two gun-wielding miscreants shoot back and forth.

A loud clang is heard, and you see one of the guns go flying out of Launch's hand, clattering to the ground a short distance away.

Lapis whoops in excitement, while Launch looks at her fallen weapon in disbelief, holding her fire.

Oolong, Roshi, and Bulma stare in her direction wide-eyed.

"That's a first," the Turtle Hermit comments.

You expect Launch to get really pissed and start shooting again, or maybe pull her rocket launcher out of nowhere and blow the stand Lapis is hiding behind into a million pieces. But, instead she just laughs.

The two of you spend the remainder of the break together, talking as you try to keep Krillin's mind off the things he's so afraid of, until the announcer finally calls for the next match to start.

Chichi finally stops her practicing, taking a deep breath and steeling herself as she makes her way across the contest hall, stepping outside and heading for the ring.

Krillin gulps and climbs to his feet, reluctantly making his way outside to watch the battle himself.

You join him, watching as Chichi steps into the empty ring, heading to one side and waiting for her opponent to show himself.

"Chichi is the first female finalist we've had in six years," the announcer tells the roaring crowd. "In the preliminaries, she proved that she was more than capable of going toe-to-toe with the boys, and now she hopes to continue her winning streak all the way to the championship match! Let's hear it for Chichi!"

The crowd continues to cheer, though Chichi pays them no mind, remaining still as a statue and waiting for her opponent to show himself.

"Her opponent is another warrior new to these tournaments," the announcer informs. "In his preliminary matches, he sent all of his opponents away on stretchers. His brutal and powerful technique is sure to make him a dangerous opponent for miss Chichi. Please, give it up for Majunior!"

You sense movement above, as at that moment Piccolo leaps from the roof of the contest hall, floating down to land in the ring across from Chichi, a smirk on his face.

Staying where you are, you quietly watch the events unfolding in the ring.

"You should step down while you have the chance," Piccolo tells Chichi. "I'd hate to see you get hurt."

His mocking only serves to anger Chichi, who scowls at him as she drops into a fighting stance.

"I'm not leaving the ring yet, and you aren't leaving at all!" she tells him.

Piccolo chuckles. "You really have no idea what you're up against."

"I know exactly what I'm up against, Piccolo," she tells him.

The demon's eyes go wide with surprise, and the announcer calls for the match to begin.

Not wasting any time, Chichi dashes across the ring, leaping as she nears Piccolo, and throwing an axe-kick down at Piccolo's head as she descends.

Piccolo easily blocks the strike by raising his arm, and Chichi backflips, landing in a crouch and launching herself forward before striking with a series of chops and palm-strikes.

Piccolo continues to easily block each attack, frowning at the woman and steadily looking more and more bored.

Finally, he pulls back his right hand, thrusting it forward and generating a large gust of wind that throws Chichi off her feet, sending her flying from the ring.

Just before she collides with the wall, she stops herself, hovering a few feet off the ground and clenching her fists in frustration.

"Majunior seems to have somehow managed to throw Chichi from the ring without even touching her, but Chichi has stopped herself from ringing out by flying!" the announcer commentates.

Chichi rushes forward again, attacking Piccolo head-on again.

He raises his arm to block, but the attack never comes, as Chichi uses the Afterimage Technique to get behind him. He turns and strikes at the Afterimage, but she comes from the side, landing a kick to his face.

Not expecting this from her, Piccolo is caught off-guard and pushed back a few feet before he stops himself. The attack doesn't look to have done any damage, but it does seem to have amused him.

"You're pretty fast on your feet," Piccolo notes. "Let's see how fast."

Beams of light shoot from his eyes, and Chichi quickly leaps out of the way, taking to the air to avoid the attack.

"Where do you think you're going?!" Piccolo shouts, holding his right hand toward her.

As you look on in disbelief, his right arm stretches, reaching high into the air and grabbing a surprised Chichi by the leg.

"Going down!" he shouts, slamming Chichi onto the floor of the ring.

"CHICHI!" Krillin shouts fearfully as the girl lets out a pained grunt on impact.

Piccolo laughs, beginning to retract his arm and pull Chichi toward him.But, you notice that she doesn't struggle. Instead, she calmly cups her hands down by her side, mouthing some words under her breath.

Not realizing what she's doing, Piccolo laughs as he continues to pull her in.

"What's wrong?" he taunts. "Giving up already? What happened to that tough talk from before? I thought you said I wouldn't be leaving this ring!"

Once she's only a few feet from Piccolo, Chichi thrusts her palms toward his face.

"HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"

A blue beam of light explodes from her hands, catching a surprised Piccolo in the face and obscuring him with smoke. He lets go of Chichi's leg, and the young woman backsprings to gain some distance.

The smoke clears, revealing a smirking Piccolo who is entirely unscathed.

Chichi scowls, clenching her eyes and hands as Piccolo laughs at her.

Yelling in rage, she rushes toward her foe once again, but this time, Piccolo isn't playing around.

Easily parrying her opening strike, Piccolo gives her a strong punch to the gut, knocking the breath from her lungs and lifting her off of her feet. Before she can recover, he punches her in the face with his free hand, punching her across the ring and out of bounds once again.

This time, she isn't able to stop herself, and slams against the brick wall before falling forward to the ground outside of the ring.

"Chichi is out of bounds!" the announcer shouts. "Majunior advances to the semifinals!"

The crowd cheers, and Krillin rushes out into the ring, running toward Chichi.

Piccolo smirks at the fallen fighter, turning and heading for the contest hall.

"She's lucky killing is against the rules," he comments as he approaches. "But she should be out for a few days."

"Ugh...my head," Chichi groans, quickly proving him wrong.

With Krillin at her side, Chichi sits up, rubbing the back of her head.

Piccolo looks over at her in surprise, and you see a bead of sweat dripping down his forehead.

It seems that humanity's warriors aren't quite as weak as he thought.

Piccolo walks past you, heading for the contest hall as the announcer steps back into the ring.

"Well, there you have it, folks; the first match of the tournament that hasn't left the ring in need of repairs!" he tells the crowd. "So, we can get started on our next match right away. These next two competitors are veterans of the last two tournaments, and have always made it at least as far as the semifinals! These two incredible fighters were supposed to face each other in the finals of last year's tournament, but never got the chance. Now, three years later, they finally have their long-awaited face-off! Please, join me in welcoming Krillin and Goku!"

Krillin, leaves Chichi's side and hops into the ring, the worry gone from his face and the same confidence you've grown to expect from him shining through.

As if on cue, Goku descends from the sky, landing across from Krillin and greeting the bald warrior with a smile.

"Sorry, am I late?" he asks.

"Nope, right on time!" Krillin tells him with a grin.

This is another match you don't want to miss.

Chichi comes to stand beside you and watch the match, and you don't miss the look of shame on her face. You knew she was going to lose all along, but it looks as if she never really understood that. In her mind, she's failed, and you don't imagine that feels very good for her.

She tries to keep that at bay as she watches Krillin confront Goku.

The two fighters bow to one another before dropping into combat stances.

"So, are you wearing weighted clothes?" Krillin asks.

"Nah, I took them off when I found out who I was fighting," Goku answers. "What about you?"

"Are you kidding?" Krillin replies. "I'm not stupid enough to try fighting you with weighted clothes."

"Good, then no holding back," Goku says. "Let's both give it our all."

"Right," Krillin agrees. "Just don't get upset when I beat you."

Goku chuckles. "I was about to say the same thing to you."

"Fighters, ready?!" the announcer asks, looking between the two of them. "Fight!"

Krillin drops his stance at once, spreading his feet apart and holding his palms toward Goku. You can feel a spike in his energy, and seconds later he fires two large balls of ki from his palms, sending them flying across the ring toward Goku.

Moving quickly, Goku jumps out of the way of the oncoming blast, but Krillin has no intent of making it that simple for him.

Moving his hands, Krillin redirects the blasts, not unlike your guided Light Shot, sending them up toward Goku's back.

Goku looks over his shoulder and lets out a surprised yelp, dropping to the floor of the ring in retreat. The blasts follow him, and he tries to use that to his advantage by heading right for Krillin, getting up in his friend's face and laughing before hopping right over his head.

This time, Krillin lets out a yelp, quickly dropping onto his back and letting his blasts fly over him before rolling over and getting into a crouch, continuing to send them chasing after Goku.

Finally, tired of running, Goku turns to face the oncoming blasts, opening his mouth and yelling as he uses the Bear Shout technique.

The beam of energy from his mouth collides with the two blasts, causing a great explosion and creating a large cloud of smoke.

As Goku stares down into the cloud, Krillin appears behind Goku, giving the larger warrior a punch to the back of the head.

Goku falls toward the ring, but quickly springs back up and repays Krillin with a punch to the face. The two fighters quickly exchange attacks before Goku manages to land another punch, pushing Krillin back.

Feeling their energies, you can tell that Goku has a clear advantage over Krillin. Your shorter friend has clearly come a long way, but in terms of raw strength, he doesn't seem to measure up to either of you. Of course, you and Goku probably benefited more through your training due to it coming from the Guardian of Earth, but you also get the feeling that training Chichi caused Krillin's own training to suffer just a bit.

Still, if Krillin knows he's at a disadvantage, he doesn't seem to particularly care. In fact, he lets out a hearty laugh.

"This is great!" he tells Goku. "You're even stronger than I expected! What kind of training have you been doing?"

"It's like nothing I've ever done before," Goku answers. "But you're not bad either, that was a pretty good trick you pulled."

"There's more where that came from," Krillin declares, raising his hands and putting them in front of his face.

Goku braces for an attack, but isn't prepared for what Krillin does.

"SOLAR FLARE!"

A blinding flash of light follows those words, and you find yourself clenching your eyes shut, covering them and grunting in pain as Krillin's technique blinds everyone around him.

You can feel him move an instant later, and hear Goku let out a cry of pain, presumably as Krillin takes advantage of the disorientation and attacks.

As your vision begins to clear, you see Krillin pummeling Goku, alternating between punches to the face and knee-strikes to the chest.

It seems Krillin does realize that in terms of strength, Goku has him beaten, so he's trying to do as much damage as he can while Goku is disoriented.

He hopes to win this match through brains instead of brawn.

Goku doesn't stay defenseless for long, though, and ends Krillin's attacks by giving him a strong kick to the jaw, then spinning and kicking him in the gut.

This time, Krillin's the one that's disoriented, and Goku pays him back for his earlier actions by pummeling the smaller man, before giving a double-axe-handle to the two of Krillin's head, sending him plummeting toward the ground below.

But, if Chichi learned how to fly, it's to be expected that Krillin did the same, and he stops himself before hitting the ground, floating back into the ring and looking up at Goku.

His breathing is heavy. He's starting to sweat. He's losing, and he knows it.

Above him, Goku hasn't even broken a sweat yet, despite Krillin's impressive fighting. It's clear who holds the advantage here.

But, Krillin isn't one to just give up. Staring defiantly up at Goku, he puts one foot back, and cups his hands at his side.

"Krillin, wait!" Goku calls down to him. "The Kamehameha won't do any good against me, it's just a waste of energy."

"Heh," Chichi chuckles at your side, a knowing smile on her face that prompts you to study Krillin a bit more closely.

"This isn't just a Kamehameha, Goku!" Krillin shouts. "This is a Super Kamehameha!"

"Super Kamehameha?" you repeat.

"Krillin spent a lot of time working on it," Chichi tells you. "It's a much more powerful version of the Kamehameha."

Yeah, that sounds about right, given the name.

"Ka.....me......" Krillin says, focusing his energy.

Goku makes no move to stop him, maintaining his position and staring down at Krillin, waiting for the attack to come.
