(Lets start the thread by ending a story, specifically the Ogryn tale)

Da daemonhost snarls, tendrils dangling from da goaty girl's chin like a beard as she spits a fireball at you. "Fool, the Changer blesses our path. How can a dullard like you hope to untangle the infinite plot?"

The tza... blue goat thing chuckles lighting crackling in her hand as a bright flash blasts through the beastman... beastgirl? It also blew up da wall behind it, and da tree behind dat, and another tree... tree again, some more besties (probbably baddies though so dats okay, tree again, and last but not least, anofa tree.

You stand up, Fifteehate lowering her pointy heaty beamy. She insisted dat's not the real name and it's proper designation was a Zepher-whatever melty majig but pointy heaty beamy is more, repeshabull. Now dis is da time to do one of those big one lines ciggy always told you bout to show how tough and cool you are to da baddies who arent dead yet.

Um.... hmmmm... well all dat really matters is you won. You give Fifteehate the old thumbs up, ya partner nodding in her red coat as she voxs da captain, one of da big ships being sent down for pickup.

Just like every otta time, once da big war finished ya got transferred somewhere else. This time however da whole company did. Da inquisissah said dat the comissah sneaky tricked worked well enough to have anoffa go and so Thirteeun got to be a fancy Interrogator-Captain and now she tells planets dat they are guard there to handle a threat when really you are... guarding against a threat?

...dis inquisitor stuff don make much sense. Probably why you aint one.
>>
>>51924042
You fink, secretly of course dis is a big secret, dat she just doin it to keep her "poutybear" round. You dat from outside der office. You were going to report yourself for hearing secret tactical information but Ciggy assured you that was a "bad plan". So you just try real hard to forget it. It almost worked too till you went and thought about it right now.
You sit next to Fifteehate behind da smouldering chaos temple fingy you just shot up, ya buddy nodding as you sit, brushin dust away from her red greatcoat. She's awfully proud of it, since it means dat shes offishally Rusty's apprentice. She don got da wriggly things yet but shes still hopin.

"Thudd, unit was contacted by the astropath. 88b wishes to inform you that she exceeded three and a half ours at the Stand Still game. Unit also added a addemenum. Unit think's it was 'neener-neener', or was the neener's in triplicate?"
You snort. "Dat's dumb she probbably fakin it". You adjust your helmet. Afta da bad ork got killed Chewa gave it to you as he and da ottas got a some of da loot in da vault, a big collection of space mushrooms they seemed awfully excited about, you fink dey were gonna eat dem. Dey scrapped enough of the ship off to take off after getting directions from da inquisissah to a good fight. Dere was dis big picture of a eye an stuff... Maybe dey plan to poke it with the ship? Well he's probbably having fun, and hey, da lighty part of the hat still works! You flip it on and off, watchin da halo appear on the wall and disappear, and appear again as da roar of da thundyhawk shakes da trees around you.

You are Thudd and today is a Good Day. It is a Good Day because you are serving the Emperor! That is what your Inuqisissah says and she should know because she blows up planets. Bone'heads also got a big hat and they know whats what so she must also. Dat is how you fink it goes at least.

Now to be truey you think this Good Day is a bit Gooder because you get to hand out with your Krieg.

(For the one with some weird orks)

After hearing this story Silvine was a little surprised by the greenskin behavior once again. And following guardsman's suggestion she turned around and looked up at her orkish kreiger guard.
"Where you there?" woman looked up at the gasmasked greenskin.
Ork shook his head.
"Do you know anyone who know about it?" Silvine tried to get him to speak.
Ork nodded
"I would like to meet them after we are done here" Silvine turned back and continued her chat with the guardsman, eventually forgetting what she asked ork to take her to person that might know about the battle.
Povilas poked his head in and noticed that Silvine was chatting with the guardsman, she looked happy, so he chose to not ruin her fun, after all sister hospitaler rarely get to have some rest, or at least he thought so.
Sounds of sawed bone and meat flying away and hitting the wall were coming out from the hospital's surgery room.
"Hey Dok, got a free minute?" quartermaster knocks on the door. Sawing stopped as big ork, covered in blood with multiple mechanical enhancements opened the door and looked down at Povilas
>>
>>51929329
Quartermaster peeked inside and saw a partly dismembered human body on the table "Where did you get that?" he points at the body.
"From da fridge" Ork replied as he took off his bloody gloves and let man inside.
"And how did it end up there, it doesn't look like one of our guardsman."
"Dat ship crash" Ork replies.
"Same one you got that girl from?" Povilas turned his head.
Ork nodded.
"Then it's great, can't let good thing go to waste" Povilas smiles as he walked in. He walked past the body and opened the fridge with medicine.
"Hey, do you have something that would knok out a human, or make them fall asleep?" he opes the fridge.
"Da first bottle on da right" Ork said as he throws corpse's arm away and pulls out a crude mechanical one.
"I need something that doesn't turn humans green and with multiple limbs" Povilas replied
Ork throws bottle from it's pocket to him.
"Thanks, by the way, what are you making?" Povilas pockets the bottle
"Ammo" toothy smile appeared on ork's face
Quartermaster was a little confused at first, but smile appeared in his face as well "Oh yeah, the git-cannon. Let me know when you are making test shots, I want to see that"

Orks and tyranids.

Rockchewa's crew by the way went straight to the eye of terror and while they aren't Daemon killa they are causing the forces of chaos no end of grief selling their services to each others backstabbery and then robbing the ottas blind.

They also have some of the best fungus beer that has ever been introduced to ork kulture but no one will ever see it.

But most characters got a happy ending. Bulletoof didn't given that they died but fuck em.

Kriegers can fall. They are loyal to a fault but not particurally resistant to chaos. Even Ogryn who are known for their loyalty have their own chaos units.

The only one you can't have fall are Grey Knights (ever) and selectively SoBs (They can be forcibly fallen).
>>
>>51950710
I remember grey knights got controlled by gene stealer, so I doubt they can't be corrupted.
>>
>>51951333
Naw he's right, that is literally their thing. Genestealer maybe (kinda want to see the source for that) but straight-up chaos? Nope. I mean nobody is stopping anyone from writing about them falling (I'm sure many people do) but canon is they give chaos the finger that way
>>
>>51951515
>>51951333
They can't.

Note I think its bullshit because they are all psykers and IMO having the most stalwart figures also be the ones most suspictable to outside forces makes no sense to me.

Part of why grey knights used to be the least favorite anything.

But genestealers is a actual parasite thing with no save.

After the boy had gone through Rochas stood by the door and waited. As the minutes began to drag on he started to tap his good foot in impatience. Blasted boy had probably bolted rather than done as he had told him. Good for nothing officers brat hadn't even been made a white shield like he ought to have been. Probably too proud to follow orders right. He sighed and was just about to hobble off to find an orderly or a member of the medical staff he could ask to look for the Medicae for him when the door swung open revealing a familiar diminutive gas masked figure.

"Well all be" Rochas thought to himself, "The brat actually did it." He'd have to find him later to thank him. Give him part of his desert ration or something. Good behavior deserved reward after all.

She stopped and they regarded each other for a moment before she said "Sir, I was told you required my assistance. What is the nature of the problem?"

"well it's not a problem per see," the sergeant said slowly."I have additional information concerning the morale building event this evening which I needed to convey to you."

"Understood" She replied. "Commence with the briefing."

Rochas tried to think of a way to inform the Krieger tactfully but ultimately decided that euphemisms and treading lightly were what had gotten him into this in the first place and that he'd be better off with the direct approach. "It's a card game" He deadpanned. The Medicae was silent for a few seconds. Rochas supposed she was mulling it over.

"A gambling activity similar to those the squad engaged in during down time while we were in the trenches?" She asked, breaking the silence.

"Yes," He replied, and then quickly before she could say anything followed up with a justification. "It's not about the card game or the gambling. It's about seeing the others. Social interaction is a key component in the maintenance of morale. Furthermore, this provides an opportunity to assess the fitness of their new squad members."

I could contribute, though I feel I lack the proper background with 40k. Mostly AGP, the wiki, some Cain from when I was younger, that youtube series about Emps getting a speech device, and whatever I picked up from being on /tg/ all these years. Evening time in the Rusty Lady
After quite annoying day, quartermaster finally returned to his armory, ready to retire for the night...
Povilas's room was right next to the armory, connected to it with door. Quartermaster finally reached it, crawling inside, where he sat down on the bed and was about to take off his shoes, when he heard a very familiar sound behind him - sound of a breathing through a gas mask. Povilas slowly turned around and saw a unformed man with a gas mask laying in the bed, most likely sleeping.
"Shizen...." Povilas jumped up, waking up the kreiger in his bed, who sat up and turned to the quartermaster
"Why aren't you back in the..." Pointed at the direction where hospital would be "Back in the hospital?"
"Soldier must be ready in case of emergency" krieger replied, his voice muffled by the gas mask.
"Oh wait yeah, you are the quartermaster for now...Ok, move a bit, I guess we will have to share the bed tonight" Povilas continued taking off his boots.
Krieger stopped him and took a small peace of paper from the night table.
"Trooper O-0028 brought this to you" kreiger gave Povilas the paper.
"What did that ork need from me?" Povilas unfolds the paper and started reading:
"Dear quartermaster,
We learned of your changed position. I was told you lost your quarters as well.
There is a free room next to my soldier's barracks, you are given a permission to use this room,
it is present on the left of my quarters. My soldiers hope to see you.
Commander O-7129"
"Now was it really written by her or by someone else?" Povilas laughed as he put his boots back on. "The hand witting is too pretty to be your's or any of the orks, so unless captain was in a strange mood today, this should be real thing. Well I guess you will be sleeping alone tonight" Quartermaster waved to the krieger as he left the room.

Alright, here goes an attempt

Trainee 4554-0672-0097 first realized he caused the “wrongness” late one night, as he woke his bunk-mate for guard.
It was a usual night, the fourth in a row spent with this subsection. The low hum of the air filters was the only sound as he stood by at his post by the door. His shift, ten hundred to zero six hundred hours, was often given to those who were new to the section. He felt minimal difficulty with this shift, being well accustomed to the hours.
Trainee 4554-0672-0097 quietly preferred the night shift. There was a sense of calm, a low, steady tension in the air with the hum, unknown to all but him. There was no snap judgments to make, simple regulations to follow and most of all, he was alone.
4554 liked being alone.
>>
>>51980043
Trainee 455-0672-0097 had been attached to twenty-seven different subsections in the last one hundred and eighty days. Each prior subsection had been dissolved due to insubordination or lack of fitness to serve the Emperor. One hundred days ago, the twelfth section he served with was ended with the trainee three bunks down from him carving out his bunk-mates throat with the old pair of scissors that seemed to inhabit every bunk-room desk. One the hundred and sixty-fifth day. The subsection (the twenty-fifth) had erupted into a melee. He had watched from his private locker as the fellow trainee he woke in the early hours for guard chewed an eye from another trainees socket. At a rate of fifty percent, all of his prior subsections had devolved into violence.

4554 didn't like violence. He didn't enjoy the loud hiss of the lasgun, the pain of his more physically demanding close combat instruction. 4554 worried that he was a poor trainee.
4554 worried that he would fail the Emperor.

The low hum of the air filters continued, reminding Trainee 4554-0672-0097 that, for now at least, all was calm. He contemplated, never moving from his post, what had caused his prior subsections to devolve. It was with these thoughts he passed the night watch, the night guard.

At zero five hundred hours and forty-five minutes Trainee 4554-0672-0097 stood betwixt the bunks, aside his bunk-mate. Trainee enjoyed the heat that rippled off his fellow trainees. A warmth, a sense of something he couldn't quite place surrounded them, and it was gentle, and soothing to be near. He compared it to a fire, buffeted on all sides by the wind, dancing, flickering. He admired the feeling for a moment, envious that he lacked it himself, then woke the fellow trainee.
>>
>>51980055
When Trainee 3782-5522-1864 lunged at 4554 he was surprised.
When the other trainees, woken by his call for aid, began to tear into each other, or curl up on the cold metal plated of the floor, 4554 was less surprised, but increasingly concerned.
When Trainee 3782-5522-1864 succeeded in penetrating the door of his locker with the broken pipe of the bunk frames, 4554 quickly became terrified.
When 4554 reached out in fear and snuffed out the warmth, he didn't understand what he had done at first. After the next trainee turned on his broken locker, and the next, he slowly comprehended the cause, if not understanding the reason. The cold, cold bodies below his locker began to pile, snuffed, sucked away. The dancing, violent flames around slowly being pulled into the void, the inexorable breeze causing them to flare, brightly, before vanishing.

When the supervisor came with his men, and spoke, Trainee 4554-0672-0097 felt his heart drop out from inside him.
“Heresy” said the supervisor.

4554 didn't want be a heretic.

4554 wanted to serve the Emperor.

4554, fled.

Years later, he would barely remember the frantic rush to escape, the Bolter shots tearing through his clothes, the collapse of the guards one after another. Frantically tightening the straps of the mask far too large for him over his face, the overcoat that almost drowned him inside its folds. An old maintenance gear locker, after hours of running through the corridors of the hive. The rusted emergency hatch, older, so much older, then anything he had ever seen before.

That night, with the loud rusted screech of an old hatch, 4554 crept out into the windy, frozen wastes of the surface of Krieg for the first time.
He was estimated to be seven years old.

>>51980083
It was a cold afternoon during the day of the three thousand six hundred and sixty second waking since Deserter 4554-0672-0097 left his assigned post. He was currently occupying a position about five stories up, surveying the usual conflict area for his fellow trainees, carved out of the shattered city around him.
He had chosen this area for the last year or so, since the regular exercises here tended to be no more then a few days.
Any longer then that, their fires would start to flicker.

He assumed that this was an introduction to trench warfare, though he never reached this point in his own training. He had watched the first few rotations with interest, a mild jealousy in his heart observing the coordination of their operations. After he felt like he understood the limits of the exercise, he started feeling his way around the edges. A stray shot there, a pitfall here. After a few more iterations he knew the places some would go, and not be found or searched for. When they vanished, they would be assumed a casualty of the opposing force, and it would be assumed the opposing force would retrieve the equipment and supplies per protocol.
A ripe, easy harvest.
>>
>>51987669
Today, he was looking over their battleground, lasgun fire peppering across the snow, to the opposite side of the clearing. Hidden in a window was an irregularity, a trainee had been commanded to hold a hidden firing position, in a building over the field. 4554 had been surprised to overhear such an order on the vox, it was highly unusual. However, it gave him an opening he could hardly ignore. Having grown adept at urban warfare over his years in the city, 4554 quickly spotted the fellow sniper. Two quick shots with his Long-Las, and the target collapsed. Hopefully still alive.
Now he had to move.

Moving through the city had become something of a game early on. With the near constant snow and his inexperience at the time, mobility had been key to his survival in his early wakings. Dipping under beams, sliding down the sides of buildings, it was clever morale building exercises like this that kept him functional and fit.
He was the fittest.

Already comfortable with the route in his territory he moved along the path around the fighting, circling to the building with his quarry in just under an hour. Slowing down to a stealthy glide, he crept up to the window where his target lay, the cameleoline tarp sown into a makeshift cloak blending him into the snow and cracked concrete around him. The faint hiss of his mask the only noise he made as he moved forward.

Then he stopped.

Below the window, a bloody smear in what snow had gotten inside. A small metal pin, discarded on the ground, used to keep bandages tight. A long drag across the ground, into the other rooms.

4554 felt satisfaction in his aim.
>>
>>51987718

Following the trail, it lead him through six rooms, down two hundred and twenty-four steps and three hundred and forty-seven paces of tunnel underground. Despite himself, 4554 was rather impressed.

The trainee was holed up in what was once perhaps an old storage closet, his own long-las pointed at the door.
At this range however, such a thing didn't matter.
4554 stepped forward with confidence.

The barrel of the long-las didn't correct to aim at him, despite his mask being clearly visible now among the cameleoline. The trainee, with a hole in his gut and a detached leg, cradled in their lap, stared at 4554 blankly, shuddering, rapid gasps coming from his own mask. His flame danced wildly, ready to vanish at any moment. 4554 took another step, and with a deep intake of a breath, sucked the warmth from the wounded trainee.
As the heat settled into him, he paused, a sense of relief settling over him. With this, he wouldn't have to hunt for another iteration. If this trainee had enough supplies, after the warmth faded he might even be able to avoid hunting for two iterations if he was careful with his rations.
Having acquired the most important resource, 4554 began to explore the rest of his spoils. The first to be acquired, over everything, was the barrel of the others long-las and the powerpack. He then moved onto the armor, grabbing various heat packs stuffed into the flak, as well as the weapon maintenance kit, what was left of the medical supplies (including taking the bloody tourniquet off the leg) and a new knee joint for himself, as the straps of his current left knee joint of his flak were growing frayed. He quickly gave the boots a once over, but his own were in better condition, as were his replacements, so he left the boots on. He then dug through the greatcoat, pulling out the prescribed medications given to the trainees to help resist the radiation of the surface. Then he looked at the mask.
>>
>>51987808

He hesitated.

He slowly reached up, pulling off the helmet.
Methodically, he undid the straps, as he had many times before.

Hair cut close to the skin. The skin itself, pale. A scar running from the ear to the chin, long healed.
Female, which was rare. Littler then him.

They were all littler then him, now.

That wasn't the case for a long time. There was long periods where he could almost pretend he was one of them, an extra asset perhaps, on a high value mission. When he succeeded, it was because despite their same age, he was the more fit one to serve, his skill and strength were superior.

Those illusions vanished now every time he removed their mask.

Only the teams sent after him, when he was identified, matched his number in wakeups now. Had he not been unfit, he would have been serving the Emperor, fulfilling his atonement.
Instead, he had sinned deeper.

He removed the filters of the mask, pulled out the lenses, and grabbed the carrying case with the spares of both. He then leaned the corpse forward and pulled the pack off it's back, he would sort through that back at his post.

He had just gotten the straps off the arms when he heard a smack of metal hitting concrete behind him, and a small whir. Startled, he spun around, long-las up and ready.

Nothing. Just a trickle of dust floating gently down from one side of the old doorway.
He pulled a small mirror out of his pocket, and poked it out the doorway into the hallway.

Empty.

He needed to move.

Just in case.

Swinging the pack under his cloak, but over his shoulder, Deserter 4554-0672-0097 began to lightly jog back to his post.

Don't worry, I will continue this thread alone if needed, I want to finish the story, as mad as it is.

Good man, you would die standing.

When things relate to kreigers, I don't know if that is a compliment or an insult....
>>
>>51996120
...complement then?
>>
>>51996158
Most likely. They are the Death korp after all.

Quartermaster left quartermaster's bedroom, currently occupied by ships doctor and sets off to the lower part of the ship to find a place to sleep.
Tired from a long day he almost fell off the ladder to the krieger barracks. There he stumbled around a bit, until coming up to a line of doors.
"Wait which one..." pulled out the paper "One on the left of the commander's." he looked at the three doors once again.
"Was that the middle on or the right one?" Povilas thought for a moment, eventually deciding to go into the room on the left.
This time before sitting on the bed he checked if there is no uniformed man sleeping in it. This time Povilas got lucky - bed was empty.
He once again took off his boots and "uniform" - a suit similar to death korp of kreig uniform with few "orkish" additions. He hanged it one the wall and fell asleep in the bed few minutes later.
After about ten minutes door slowly opened as someone came in.
Covered from head to toe in purple paint, ork mek sneaked into the room carrying someone. In his hands was a sleeping woman with a gas mask and a trench coat of death korp. Mek moved to quartermaster's bed as silently as big green humanoid could, carefully laying the sleeping kreiger next to him and silently leaving the room, closing door behind him.
As ork returned to his workshop someone was waiting for him. Sitting next to a makeshift metal table was ship captain, drinking a glass of wine.
"Are children sleeping?" Captain laughed as she watched mek brushing off the paint.
"Yes" ork replied and sat down in front of her, picking up another glass.
"Then let's drink in the name of the love" captain smiled as she poured in some fungi wine into ork's glass and two enjoyed it while chatting for the rest of the evening.

You really need to get a name for the quartermaster, because saying that name then repeating it for his bedroom is redundant. Just google a random 40k name generator. Plus side, your grammar definitely improved.
>>
>>51999447
He has a name, it's Povilas.
>>
>>52000165
...then why don't you use it instead of Quartermaster when its unnecessary? If its private or he is off hours he could just use his name, and when he is on duty he could use the title unless someone feels the need to address him as such. It just stood out to me because of how odd that was. Otherwise your writing seems to have improved, good work. Maybe when you finish you can clean up some of your earlier parts. I'll re read the story then. Grammar Nazi, signing off.

Yeah, I need to sit down and rewrite good bit of it. Maybe I will do it before continuing.
>>
>>52000517
Also might tell the origin of the orks, might come out quite amusing.
>>
>>52000951
...You do know how they were created, right? And you also know that even they don't know about either, right?

With the exception of Proctor, whom i still hope will return, I was under the impression that everyone who has written in the thread either finished what they were doing or is still working at it.
>>
>>52004001
I can try to pick something up but im stuck on ideas right now, I dont want to be called out on just doing a worse bavari or something.
>>
>>52004344
That's a fair reason, do you mate. Just don't have bad grammar.
>>
>>52001077
Not that origin, reason why they are on the ship.
>>
>>52006761
Ah, then in that case this should be fun. Flash Orks always have a good story time.
>>
we hold the line

I'm considering that, rather then kriegers hanging out with guardsmen or other more sane people, putting a krieger in a decideldly nonkrieg situation.

Like making one end up in the schola after their regiment died.
>>
>>52008711
Ahh yes, returning to where it all started.

Also I wouldn't mind seeing krieger as music teacher or schools nurse.
