Yeah, there are a few different ways you could greeble up the little dude. If you wanted to hardwire him to something you could use a whip like the Lektric Gluv uses for that cable. There's also something like this if you just want some danglies off the bottom end. Personally I think it looks best when it's just the antenna on the top of his dome.

The Friends ribbon you posted is a little smaller, has a pin on the back side (that's why I thought the other ones had pins) but unfortunately only comes with an imprinted "1" or "2". I like the Scala ribbons because they're generic colored ribbons, but it's a moot point anyway because the hole on the gun is juuuuuust a little too small to fit a pin (wasted opportunity to put ribbons on your guns if you ask me).

In all seriousness, I get what you are saying, but the way the irregular shapes of some of the special Mega Bloks pieces, and the fact that they have a slightly different plastic color and texture than Lego, means that they always look weird when you mix and match like that.

If it can't be helped, then it can't be helped. But if you can find a Lego piece to use instead of a Mega Bloks piece, then it usually looks better.

Here's how you make the rifle without it looking too stupid.

Take a long clone/stormtrooper blaster rifle, the sniper one. Then take a Bionocle connector piece, the long-ish black one that can take cross pegs at both ends (not the one with the cylinder snap peg slot in the middle, the shorter one) then take the smallest cross pegs, the ones they make red now so you don't loose them in your fucking carpet, and connect another connector, increasing barrel length.

Boom, easy peasy

Well, it kind of is. When you're sorting the pieces out, it's easier to sort the pins when they're different colors. It's not like Lego had a problem with kids jamming friction pins into Technic axle holes and then having to deal with phone calls from angry parents because "this set is broken".
