Okay, so
>Rolled up a Mining/Prison/Death World that is periodically on fire throughout the year, though some periods are more survivable than others
>Marines that descend from the Dangles have set up shop after ditching a call for hunting a possible lead on a Fallen. They were pretty much excommunicated from the Dangles and descendants since sometime in M39
>We also rolled up the planet's moons: a Hive Moon that is going to be refluffed after accidentally getting 4000 residents and a quiet Mechanicus Cemetery moon
>Minor Xenos race that is basically space roach skaven, who previously owned the sector, they have gene engineering technology
Fluff
>We need to make new units for the roaches (the ones we got in the past thread)
>the chaos warband
>maybe other planets
>>
>>62990061
I also made a 2nd thread I believe. That was pretty good, especially the Akarians

>>62990102
For the Roack Skaven/Akar we had some basic units and they made the Monster Beetles that awaken from periodic hibernation to wreck shiy up as a farewell fuck you to the imperium and Humans across the Subsector and possible outlying regions.

We possibly should roll up the Warband to get some more fluff out.

I'll start it out, where did they start?
>>
>>62990061
Roach units so far
>Shattered Humans: The Akar, as the vile things call themselves, do not consume all of the humans they capture, some suffer the fate of "Shattering", where their higher brain capabilities are shut off, and the result is used in combat in similar to how orks use squigs, as sucide bombers and cannon fodder, it is theorized the other xenos races could be "shattered" as well, though this is not confirmed, if so not even they deserve such a fate
>Soldier: The basic infantry unit of the Akar, or Roach, forces, this unit typically wields whatever it can get it's hands on, usually stolen PDF gear, they should treated as if fighting a PDF foot soldier, with the minor exception of having higher energy weapons resistance and dodging ability
>Cuirasser: Command/Elite units, given the best gear, either made with bio-engineering technology, result in "living" weapons, and/or salvaged space marine gear, training, and biological enhancements
>Chrisalid: Massive beasts, they're biologically engineered tanks in effect, rivaling most carniflexs in danger when confronted in melee combat
>Dragoons: Ride atop a varity of beasts (well have to roll them, letg's have various mounts), these units are cavalry, with PDF cavalry gear
>Wasps: Larger roachs, though no where near rivaling the chrisalid, wasps are jump troops, with specially genetically modifyied wings, often being similar to Cuirasser in rank, having the best gear, for their purpose, train, and modifications
>Monster/War Beetles: The biggest seen yet creations of the Roaches, borderline Bio-Titans. Many are as big as Land Raiders with some rumored even bigger. Tough carapace, size and strength make them monsters to deal eith, can lift and throw tanks with ease and a variety of attacks at their disposal. They are plague ridden to make the area around them unusable to enemies. (are a super weapon, like a nuke, or summoning a greater demon)
.
>>
>>62990148
>Daemon World: Your warband was homegrown in the Warp itself on a daemon world, and finally got a chance to strike out on their own!
We're from the big leagues boys! A fine pedigree for sure.
>>
>>62990175
>Mini Roaches: creature that actually looks like a huge cockroach, no longer than a foot these creatures are another creation by the Akarians as small and fast swarm units to bog down eneimes while their forces either retreat or encircle the enemy to finish them off. They are cheap to breed and raise making their destruction a non-consequence if fired upon by Soldiers

Damn right. Either they evac and wait out or the Lantern Bearers come to possiblt take them down.

On the LB would they still take in Prisoners/convicts to gain some cred/notoriety? They wee excommunicated by the DA so getting in the good graces of the Sub sector seems like a good idea, they can even offload some excess to the FW forsome favors.

The cells and mines of Fireball are filled with criminals from all walks of life: Hive Gnagers, deposed Nobles, Lustful Clergy. You name it, you can find them under the fire baked wastes toiling till their light gives out.

Looking back, this is a truly incredible coincidence of parallel rolls and fluff. It lines up so nicely that it's hard to believe.

"We came from storied backgrounds. We carried the blood of Demi Gods within us. But in our darkest hours we could not have been more different. Chapter Master Apos stod up to our Fore Brothers and took all the blame upon himself. The Master of the Ashen ones put the blame upon those they tried to protect. We rose from the ashes of our excommunication to light the way for the people of Tene Laterem . They wallowed in it and sunk to ever greater depths of Heresy."
-Chapter Master (TBD) on the similarities between the Lantern Bearers and The Ashen Ones
>>
We decided on a Light theme for the Lanter Bearers right? Flamers, Lascannons and the like. Maybe modified armor mounted Search/strobe lights to disorient enemies to better the Marines chances.

And I still don't like the Drop Pod specialization for the LBs. With how they have been fluffed, they are more CQB than drop pods. What with fighting heavily in tunnels/urban environments.
>>
Does anyone have a blank FOC? Was thinking of making an attempt at a basic one for the LBs.
>>
>>63007470
The Organization of the Lantern Bearers is strictly Codex Compliant more befitting the Sons of Guilliman than the Lion.

As such, they follow the guidelines and teachings to the letter as much they can. They are organized in the standard Veteran (1st), Battle (2nd-5th), Reserve (6th-9th) and finally the 10th (Scout) Companies.
>>
>>63007669
What would be some good names for the companies?
1st "The Radiant"
and
10th 'The Kindling"
Are what I got so far but I'm not so sure. And Despite fighting frequently in tunnels and urban environment I think they'd use more Devastators/Stern Guard than Assaults. Reason being is a Heavy Bolter firing down a corridor/hallway is a pretty effective deterrent for keeping Akars number advantages down. This would leave the Assaults as much more specialist tools in comparison to standard chapters, the mobility of the Assaults/Vanguards makes them amazing in wider spaces but not so much in the typical environments they operate in.
>>
Well the LB have their Monastery "The Torch" made out of a recovered overran Under city that they then reinforced and improved upon over the centuries. It's likely expanded beyond it's original layout by a couple kilometers at least, filled with all manner of defenses and safe houses, power plants, life-support and more to better it's ability to run the Chapter.

Their are few Under Rails running to it, the shoddy/damaged ones were given controlled burials to prevent interlopers from using them to attack. The current ones in use are carefully monitored to laborious detail. They are connected to the largest Undercities in the Region and from them to an expansive planetary network.

How about we make a creature for the Hive Moon? And should the moon have over a billion pop?

Guess I'll do it myself since no one is here. Seriously, I make sure a thread stays up until literally a day after it wasstarted but no one except
>>63002546
>>63002705
>>63002771
was here, and that was for a few posts and they then disappear. This keeps happening in all the Creation threads I take part in

Urban since Hive Moon
Feeding habits
>>
Rolled 9 (1d10)

>>63008662
>Carnivore - "The Creature is a natural carnivore, killing prey outright when given the chance."
A classic for the typical Hive City, Man Eaters

Reproduction
>>
Rolled 3 (1d10)

>>63008685
>Lone Wolf - "The creature is the last of its kind and can't reproduce. It ain't happy!"
Now it's really interesting. Maybe it was too good at killing? I'll add an extra ability point or two to make it up for being the last of it's kind.

Sense
>>
Rolled 61 (1d100)

>>63008709
>Smell
It's got a damn good nose, it can even shut off what it can smell to deal with being in Hive Cities, which are filled with all sorts of scents, it would be disorienting at best.

Going to go with
>Imperial Guard, PDF, or some kind of human resistance
Because why else? Also maybe it deals with Akarians what with them being all around?

So Role now, eliminating >Farmed/Grown/Engineered
because it's the last of it's kind, will reroll if it does happen
>>
Rolled 3 (1d10)

>>63008778
>Dangerous - "Threatening, either through its skill or the sheer amount of them on a world. No one tries to tame or hunt them."
Good call, it's kind was simply too good at killing so concerted efforts over the centuries led to this guy being the final member. It has reached near mythical status due to it.

Exemplary action
>>
Rolled 5 (1d6)

>>63008801
>Taken down and possibly eaten scores of human hunters, guardsman, PDF, or neophytes. A terror on the galaxy's most widespread species.
As I said before, too good at killing, will add another ability point to make it worth killing for a Kill Team to take on.

Size
>>
Rolled 4 (1d10)

>>63008821
>Large
Another? Hopefully it's as good as the War Beetle, that was a thing of beauty.

Locomotion
>>
Rolled 8 (1d12)

>>63008842
>Quadruped (Beasts)
Just like the beetle, probably won't have wings this time 'round.

Skin/Surface
>>
Rolled 3 + 2 (1d10 + 2)

>>63008875
>Scales - "Usually cold blooded with scales. Often reptilian in nature."
Lizard/Drake like creature, definitely impressive. "Sewer/Spire Drake" is a good name for it.

Abilities, and am adding +2 for being Lone Wolf and, Dangerous and killing scores of humans over it's life span.

Rolled 24, 20, 8, 29, 18, 35, 8 = 142 (7d35)

>Vampirism

Rerolling twice, but looking promising, already have ideas for it's abilites

Rerolling
>Razor Sharp Claws
Another good one. No wonder it's been going through bodies like a harvester to wheat.
>>
Rolled 6 (1d35)

>>63008979
Again?! Fine.
>>
>>63009002
>Deadly Attack
Finally
>Regeneration
>Vampirism
Stuff to keep it in the fight, Vampirism to feed it's Regen and have likely kept it in the hunt for possibly centuries.
>Disorienting Attack
>Lure
Stuff to bait and help feint prey/opponents
>Razor Sharp Claws
>Deadly Attack
>Horns/Spiky
Killy shit to scythe through bodies

Pretty good run if I say so myself
>>
>>63009065
>The City Hunter/Spire Dragon
>Said to be the last of it's kind, they were hunted and purged by extreme measures by order of the Lantern Bearers due to their danger to production efforts and the riots that were breaking out upon (Hive Moon). It is theorized the explosion of violence and killings by the Spire Dragons was due to overpopulation, chemical imbalance by Hive pollution and a number of other reasons. Regardless, at the height of the killings the Spire Dragons had eclipsed the Ganger warfare by an order of magnitude to the point the Gangs had joined efforts and stopped their infighting to push back against the Dragons.

>As the situation worsened, the Chapter Master (TBD) ordered a veritable extermination campaign/Crusade against them by arming all available bodies and sweeping the planet. This took years of blood, sweat nd death but it was believed they had been eradicated until a few decades ago It was sighted.
>>
>>63009216
>"Beast? Heh, you think the Spire Hunter is just some slavering animal? Then ya'll are blind as a bat. The Hunter has been owning these blocks since before most of the Nobles were shitting their diapers. And it'll continue doing so unless stopped. Me? I've been tracking it for most my life since my sister was eaten right in front of me. She heard something outside our hab block and didn't listen to our Ma, you never step outside the block unless you got an army equipped to the teeth at ou back even back then. I remember it sounded like a girl calling for help and her just looking around and calling out to whoever it was, she decided it wasn't worth it and turned around and... It came from above, it's jaws wide open and snatching her up fast as lightning. She never even had time to scream, it was over in an instant. Since then I dedicated myself along with a number of other dudes to track and build off the data of previous generations of Hunter Hunters. If you guys are as good as they say, here, take our peoples work. In this book you hold lifetimes of data on all the Hunter's sightings and habits, it's abilities and how to counter them. For all our sakes, end this."

Excerpt from a NPC during a Kill Team/Death Watch campaign giving the PCs knowledge on how to nd the Spire Hunter
