Is there any system that allows for the party to be a bunch of animals or doggos or something? Maybe like homeward bound?

Is there a Shadowrun universe security dog team or something where the runners have a pack dog and they have certain stats to follow up with.

Thinking about creating a role play group around that idea of the entire team was asked to do a task but they’re dogs so they have to find out how to decipher human speech before making an attack at this unspecified target.

Especially how intuition would impact on actions like getting distracted by smell/sound or not being neutered playing a role on smelling a non spayed dog in heat reducing your perception in combat.
>>
i like puppies
>>
Unironically, Blue Rose AGE. You can play as a psychic dog, at least with a little houseruling on natural stats.
>>

Thinking more of an owner is the shadow runner or a corps hirling. You as a dog gain karma from being a ‘good boy’. Karma is spent on upgrading your ranking to receive better combat gear priority. Like the owner succeeds in a Shadowrun due to their dog pack, and spends X amount of money for dog distributed as gear/treats to train them better.

The dog pack is the players and a kibble bowl is dispensed, the dog with the greater smelling senses rolls for a check to see if there is more meat and tries to be quick to eat the good bits, and the dog with low smelling senses assert dominance and try to claim the whole bowl. The GM can play as the owner deciding the fate of the dog pack interactions and assign jobs too.

perhaps a gensys or gurps?! Maybe even an apocalypse world homebrew
>>
>>64482449
Not in a furry way but, it would be a post apocalyptic or cyberpunk adventure band of practical animals(dogs) living together to solve tasks or gain personal advancements to understand their world through the aid of a human GM.

>>64482461
That looks fun but preferably non fantasy. Without dogs holding weapons and casting spells.

- GURPS
- Ars Magica ('Grogs' for regular dogs or horsies, 'Realms of Power: Magic/Faerie for magical or faerie beings shaped like animals, repectively).
- Kenzerco has an RPG called DAWG
- Blue Rose (psychic animals)
- Cat

Also, you might be able to modify 'Bunnies & Burrows'

>>64482282
Yes but anon kinda played with your dreams. In blue rose the psychic dogs are people.

Apocalypse World (AKA Powered by the Apocalypse AKA PbtA) is a series of rules-lite RPGs that all use a similar mechanic of 4-5 stats between -1 and +2. You roll 2d6, add it to the relevant stat, 7-9 is a partial success, and 10+ is a critical success.

There might be some home-brewed version of PbtA out there for dogs. There is a PbtA for rabbits, but I don't know about dogs https://bullypulpitgames.com/games/the-warren/

For what it's worth, Bunnies and Burrows might be a better fit. Some dog stats are provided on page 33, but they're incomplete.

Can you describe the home brew class for the ryutaama campaign? I'm unfamiliar with ryutaama but I'm interested in how you defined it as a job/class.

youd have to design a PbtA system yourself but i can see it working great for a homeward bound type campaign

In KODT, "Dawg: the role playing game" was the critical failure that led BA Felton living with his parents and working at a pizza joint well into his thirties.

Engine heart might be good for this, actually. It does a good job capturing the feeling of existing to serve humans in a post-human world. The rules for different sized robots translate well to different sizes of dog (chihuahua vs mastiff) but you might have to cut off the extremes. Hmm.

Ha! The rulebook even has a dog statted out.

The more I look into this the more convinced I am it could work, would just require a *lot* of refluffing, possibly even creation of custom traits.
>>
>>64481887
Just use the rules for Cat? They provide stats for a dog. The only thing missing is an in-depth description of what exactly dogs do compared to cats.

I've read pugmire, I feel like it does a diservice to its dog-premise. It mostly feels like DnD, but everyone has a dog head. I think OP wants something more like Isle of Dogs, where players are limited by what they can and can't do, because they're dogs.
>>
>>64481887
Mythras could do this. I imagine gurps or any modular system could do a dog rpg

I had a idea for a game based on pic related.
A apocalyptic event (Virus, alien chemicals in the water, divine wrath, radio mind control waves, great old ones awakening or whatever.) makes humans murderous.
As humanity wipes itself out the dogs must survive on their own.
It would be somewhat based on bunnies and burrows like the bunnies in that game the dogs would be somewhat smarter and ''handier'' than normal dogs; although they would start in the same level as irl dogs and slowly become smarter as the game goes on.
