Harken, oneirographers! The Interdimensional Trading Company requests a comprehensive gazetteer of 100 otherworldly dimensions and their particular vagaries and quirks - and especially the resources that they harbour! Doing so would bolster the wealth and might of the Company tenfold, and the new knowledge gained would save thousands of our men from doom by misunderstanding! Should the 100 dimensions be fulfilled, we at the company will express our gratitude by rewarding each and every contributor with 1000 gold pieces.

As you know, each dimension will be marked with a number to designate it, and it is well known among oneirographers that while it is possible to travel to any dimension no matter where you are, it is particularly easy to access one via the metachannels, which are magical, permanent portals connecting one dimension to another. Hence you could say dimension ## is linked to dimension XX via a metachannel slick with protozoan ooze.

Begin!

1. The grand headquarters of the Interdimensional Trading Company. A city built three-dimensionally, an unholy mishmash of a dozen noneuclidean architectural styles that are equal in nothing but the aura of opulence exuded. There is no gravity. Millions of souls reside here. Unbelievably, unthinkably rich, and every god in all existence vaguely pertaining to money owns a townhouse here. However, the only sapient beings that can arrive here are those which understand trade. The only natives here are bat-winged ruby-eyed golden frogs who live in giant hollowed out melons of jade.

2. Refuse World. Psychically-charged dimension. Whenever an object or being is discarded, destroyed, thrown away, or likewise, it creates a psychic resonance that manifests on this plane. Whole cities of tumbled buildings full of castoff artifacts. However, none of it is truly "real" and quickly fades away when removed from the plane. However, the castoff beings who dwell here may be bargained with to trace the shadow objects back to the point where they were discarded, thus allowing someone to find the real version. What these beings want in trade is unknown at present.
>>
>>64527192
3. The Land of Melting. A thick, yellowish-white liquid covers everything here, and many things appear half-melted.
All things melt here, until only a thick omnislurry remains, formed from all the melted things which mixed together; those who happen to possess psychic gifts can sometimes hear a deep, slow moaning from the liquid.
>>
>>64527540
The beings which inhabit 2. appear like naked mole rats, except they are made entirely out of brain matter and nerves, threaded with protruding purple veins. They live in giant brains suspended by infinite spinal cords that lead to nowhere, stretching up infinitely into the dark skies. They are vastly intelligent and possess psychometric and telepathic abilities.
>>
>>64527595
Occasionally wizards come to 3. to commune with the psychic emanations radiating from the waxy yellow ooze. While this is a great burden to the mind and soul, there is potential for great primeval wisdom to be procured.
>>
>>64527192
4. The Ship. A massive ship made of some whitish material, floating on a stormy sea under heavy rain. It is crewed by skeletons who insist that the visitors are part of the crew and force them to perform various errands. Sometimes, a horsefly is seen flying about.
>>
>>64527192
5. Gigerscape. This plane has been overtaken completely by a biomechanical structure. All prior inhabitants and resources have been assimilated entirely into the mass. The structure occasionally spawns creatures; it is unclear if these are servants of the greater biomachine or an unintended side effect of its operations. Exotic biomechanical technologies may be harvested from the structure, although with the risk of incurring an immune response. Quarantine protocols are recommended for all teams and recovered artifacts.

6. Whales' Last Rest. When the great planes-traveling Oneiric Whales feel their allotted lifespan coming to its end, they travel to this wasteland dimension to die in peace. The non-euclidean skeletons of millions of whales litter the landscape. An exotic ecosystem of extraplanar scavengers and decomposers has grown up around the regular whalefall. A few small communities of hunters and whalers have also sprung up to harvest eldritch resources from the dead whales and the attendant ecosystem, but the amount of thaumic radiation given off by the whales' skeletons as they slowly degrade limits settlement. Ghosts are also an issue, as echoes of the dead linger.

Now that apparently this idea is popular enough to warrant a second I have to ask....Should we not also start laying groundworks for actually making this multiverse interconnected and the world(s) more lived in?

7. Metsys nort

A green & black universe populated by unwitting AIs that developed on a dusty old arcade machine’s hard drive when it was plugged in overnight. While outsiders appearing in the ‘game’ has happened in the distant past those times are far behind, it has been such a long while from the local’s perspective that the notion of outsiders or ‘users’ had become a thing of myths. The AIs are in state of upheaval with the previously ‘useless’ caste of AIs tied to servicing the until recently nonexistent users being elevated to the pinicle of the AI society who now scramble to restructure their systems to service outsiders by enabling them to run ‘games’.

7. The Vespertines. The afterlife of half forgotten empires. The lands and cities of conquerers from a hundred planes sit next to each other, jumbled together with little regard for time period or world of origin. The hill forts and war banners of some iron age chieftain sit next to the skyscrapers and hovertanks of a planetary government. All lie half ruined. It is always twilight here, and the light flows like syrup, thick and heavy, bearing a tangible mass. Removing physical objects from the Vespertines is impossible as they simply fade away, but there is the potential of significant historical and archaeological discoveries.

The ocean on which the ship on 4. scours is contained within a giant crystal bowl balancing on the head of a polycerate goat-giraffe. The horseflies of this dimension are actual dipterian flying horses, and their sting is so acidic it hangs in the air and burns a hole into other dimensions, most notably 3.

The Refuse World and the Vespertines are very close to each other dimensionally, and bleed into each other a little bit at the edges. The native inhabitants of 2. may on rare occasion be spotted within the Vespertines, although they never linger long.

10. Amiz
This looks like your average planet until you decide to visit tundra and realize it's one fucking huge-ass zone of death and magic shenanigans, with creatures warped beyond recognition including a living embodiment of antimagic and probably housing portals to other planes/dimensions. This mess was caused by a war that basically involved magical equivalent of nukes, but it was so long ago that only the oldest of dragons and other incredibly long-lived creatures remember it. After the war ended, a group of incredibly powerful spellcasters from all over the planet made it their job to create super powerful avatars (representing creation, change and cataclysm) to watch over the damn planet. These avatars are the closest thing this dimension has to gods.
>>
11. Chetrourilia. This plane is divided between the domains of twenty powerful and despotic wizards. Each aspires to achieve true godhead and total domination of the plane, but lacks the power to overcome the others; things have settled into a tense cold war. Their domains are divided by wide stretches of no man's land, scarred by centuries of magical warfare and neglect. They have recently begun sending minions out on extraplanar expeditions to try and find some advantage over the others. From the standpoint of the ITC, the wizards are a ready market for extraplanar weapons and magic, but any visitors must tread with caution.
>>
>>64527192
12. The Hells. An empty world that holds a private prison, that will accept any prisoner, and lock up any artifact. The plane is a vast stony wasteland of orange rock. The sky is brown with dust. The sun is a blood-red disc, its light diffuse and anemic.

The Hells complex resides in a broad crater. The crater's floor is covered in wide sinkholes, used as yards where the more fortunate prisoners can mingle, or pits where the less fortunate prisoners are tormented. Cell-blocks, mess halls, sweatshops and torture chambers are built around the rims of the sinkholes, or burrowed into the walls. At the centre of the crater is a large citadel, where the guards, wardens and maintenance staff live. Built into the walls of the crater are metal silos, designed for the indefinite solitary confinement of especially powerful prisoners.

And hanging over all is a vast black pyramid, floating in the air, crowned with a burning eye of white flame. The pyramid is held in place by chains connected to four huge stone weapons set into the rim of the crater: a sword, an axe, a spear and a warhammer. The pyramid is a giant, non-euclidean vault, where dangerous artifacts of all kinds are stored.

The prison is run by a motley mixture of races, from all over the multiverse. A prisoner's sentence is decided by whoever delivers them to The Hells, and pays for their internment. The prison accepts payment in money, new and interesting torture devices, and favours. One can also buy the labour of the prisoners, if one is looking to get wholesale items made on the cheap.

OP source is Jean Giraud also known as Moebius. His style is typical to franco-belgian comics, usually called ligne claire, though it dates further back to Hergé. Over the years the style has evolved, picked up by artists all over the world.

>Joost Swarte
While not exactly ligne claire, following its spirit, some mangaka are also fond of the very detailed panorama shots such as:

12. The Great Cage. An innumerable number of cages and prison cells of every conceivable type hang from a grid of iron girders that extends seemingly infinitely in all directions, connected by catwalks and corridors. These cages are capable of containing nearly any prisoner, even gods; even on the rare occasion someone does escape their cell, they still must escape the plane itself. Inmates are cared for by entities known as the 'Wardens', which are animated uniforms of prison guards without any actual wearer. Hundreds of planes use the Great Cage as a dumping ground for the criminal, the monstrous, and the merely inconvenient.

13. The Cradlewaste
A world of barren, empty land covered in partially buried spherical pods of various sizes. Each pod varies in size from a softball to an office building, and are made of a strange metal that resists most magics. They are all sealed, and their contents a mystery beyond that whatever is inside does not age. At some unknown, irregular trigger, pods will open, disgorging everything from live monsters to confused people to caches of treasure or oddly flavored air. Sentient beings within each pod are generally from different planes, cultures, and in some cases, ages.
The land beneath each pod is made of thickly packed ash, going down miles and filled with hundreds of thousands of sealed pods. At each polar hemisphere is a single, large pod holding a portal to a different plane.
>>
>>64542419
It's fine. It's perfectly possible for the two planes to co-exist.

The Hells is the premium prison service, that will keep your prisoner locked up, AND torture them for you at no extra cost. Plus they offer artifact storage and cheap sweatshop labour.

Meanwhile The Great Cage is the free option. Just dump a prisoner there and forget about them. They might escape at some point, but hey- you get what you paid for.

14. Sphere

A barren wasteland of a world where emotions generate inexplainable phantasmal energy. It is populated by the occasional enclave of survivors either from the original humans that inhabited this place or the multitude of outsiders who have been unlucky enough to wander into this world or be maliciously places her but mostly it is covered by gas canisters that spiral off into the heavens and factories that build capsule spheres of every size out of thin air. They are constantly attended to by unthinking abductor robots who scour the land for anything unlucky enough to be put in their clutches. Though the machines are seemingly to stupid to change their default constructions they have made a system out of allowing survivors to reproduce for future harvesting.

The machines place living things (or anything that moves really) in the spheres (there’s a size for everyone!) and they take great care to figure out the anatomy of any given victim before they separate their mind from the body and place them in seperate parts of a personalized spheres built to contain magical the magical energy generated by emotions. The spheres stimulate the emotions of their content while the machines leave those loaded spheres alone in subterranean storage to milk out as much emotional energy in the time it takes for a given sphere’s inhabitant to expire(if they can) Once a sphere inhabitant is dead either from natural decay or the building pressure of the energy in their sphere having an internal rupture and splattering it’s subject the sphere alerts that it’s content is not producing & the energy is retrieved by a robot. The content’s body is rearranged into something new, a hangover of long defunct service roles. The depleted sphere’s final function is to use its own energy to initiate a cross reality jump to the world next door to make room for the next sphere.

15. Czarnosc. A gloomy and surreal land, filled with inexplicable phenomena and bizarre entities. It is impossible to truly die here; rather, each 'death' causes the unfortunate victim to gradually warp and mutate, eventually devolving into one of the local entities, finally degrading into little more than part of the landscape. There is a local civilization, which bases its technology on ritualized mutilation to force slaves to transform into more useful forms. Occasionally more people arrive through means unknown; unfortunately for them, getting to Czarnosc is far easier than getting out. There is much yet to be learned about this plane, but these are questions best left unanswered. Further expeditions are discouraged in the strongest possible terms.

That's me, the OP - and I'd like to proclaim that the dimensions being posted here are far, far too bleak and boring. Personally I'd much appreciate it if you all took the time to see the kind of vibrant, absurd worlds they made in the PDF attached earlier - take inspiration, if you will.

The Interdimensional Trading Company will not establish posts in dimensions where there is nothing to trade for and no one to trade with, hence their bookkeepers will gladly omit them. Wastelands are of no interest to them unless they offer something lucrative. They wish to learn of the natives, too. What manner of life might abound?

19. Efpeyeas.

A Valhallan realm of burning urban ruins, deserts where those who in life stared into the heart of war through the sightline of a firearm and utterly embraced it...or had their minds break from the experience. It doesn’t really matter which. Here’s your standard issue death dealer now get out there to pop some more heads.

The local inhabitants of Efpeyeas are often the owner’s of a one track mind for the goal of killing as many people as possible before they themselves are offed and made to respawn somewhere in the realm. For the people of Efpeyeas even death outside of their home realm merely results in them also reappearing somewhere back in Efpeyeas again. It should go without saying that his realm provides a nigh inexaugstable supply of viciously eager mercenaries for anyone able to exchange superior equipment to the clans who control portals to the outside world.

*Real* death for the people of this realm comes only from the death of giving up. Losing the willingness to continue the eternal mindless fight results in a permanant loss of one’s cycle of death and spawning. Re-exposure to other worlds where something other than eternal war exists is often what breaks these people’s immortality trance of partaking in the eternal battles.

The lands of Efpeyeas itself are incoherent in everything but tone. Should one be so fortunate as to walk in a strait line you may begin your walk among a string of bombed out skyscrapers which give way to wetland camps in less than a mile which itself leads to a mountainside peppered with bunkers and underground laboratories. The landscape itself shifts when unobserved changing into a different shade of war zone.

20. Accelerando. This dimension is pervaded by a psychometric field that augments intelligence while suppressing doubts and inhibitions. A perfect environment for acts of mad science. Civilization in this dimension is given over almost entirely to research, with little to nothing in the way of oversight and standards. Despite the explosions and escaped mutants, the factories and labs of Accelerando produce a never ending flood of groundbreaking discoveries, powerful if unreliable technology, and abominations before god. Industrial espionage and scientific rivalry is rampant, and as a consequence labs are heavily fortified and trapped. Thanks to a culture of radical cybernetic and genetic augmentation, 'species' is a fluid concept for long term inhabitants. Also of note is the parasite sub-dimension Accelerando uses to dispose of its massive output of toxic waste and failed experiments, which is itself inhabited by hardy mutants and scavengers who pick over the trash heaps in insectile mecha.

The inhabitants of 10. include a civilization of abhumans divided into 2 castes - warriors, who possess the faces of baboons, and monks, who possess the faces of venerable owls and have feathers for hair. This does not exclude body hair, hence they have feathery pubes.

The devolved dwarves are now closer to their ancestors, the carrion-maggots which gnawed upon Ymir's carcass, and have slimy, wrinkled skin and only eat scavenged meat. They metamorphose into flying insectoid creatures.

>>64530210
This does seem like the next logical step. Seeing as how there are so many worlds that are or share obvious connections to the planet earth and with humans similarly being a very widespread phonominon it would make sense that the OG earth some time in the past did a ‘multiverse connecting oopsie’ that made it become the splintered origin point for innumerable earh inspired worlds existing and for humankind running about on so many of the worlds.

23. Polygondwanaland. A low-rez electronic replica of life on Earth in the age of the dinosaurs, with significant divergences. Most notably, members of hundreds of species have gained the powers of intelligence, speech, and tool use. The nations of this dimension are dominated by the powers of the Lizard Wizards, who perform magic by using mathematical exploits to manipulate the technological underpinnings of the world. With these powers they have created a sophisticated, if schizo-technical, civilization. Also crashed the world several times, but fortunately the backup system restored it each time. It should be noted that the world is a simulation, it does not seem to be running on an actual computer. Instead the rules governing it seem to be written into the fabric of the dimension itself. Further, careful research by the Lizard Wizards has discovered the patch notes for the simulation, revealing that the whole dimension is being actively maintained and even subtly modified by some godly sysadmin. (Access to these patch notes is also how the inhabitants discovered that their world had been destroyed multiple times, as they don't remember it themselves for obvious reasons.) Attempts to contact the Sysadmin directly are underway.

For the ITC's purposes, it should be kept in mind that artifacts and persons originating in Polygondwanaland only retain their coherence without constant stabilization in other electronic dimensions like Metsys Nort >>64530210, reducing but not eliminating their export value.

24. Killer space, where in the age of great space exploration, one of the many species soaring through the cosmos uncovered a lifeforms of ever expanding mass, killing everything it touches. Ever expanding throught space, planets were quick to craft shields for their home planets and bridges between world's to connect them and protect them from the ever growing mass of red pillars of death. These spires have already made the final frontier it's own home, and the species in it its minor inconvenience. Eliminating entire empires from the universe. Now world's covered in metal shells, never to have the real sky touch down upon them ever again, are the only places any of them can call home. Them and the bridges. Some unfinished, with those near them in constant fear of the menace a few feet outside, and some light years long. Seemingly unending. But is the cataclysm that once wiped away so much life in the universe still out there? Or is the fear and paranoia of it the only thing keeping the survivors alive? Only time will tell.

26. Terminus Rex. King Ending. The Cannibal Universe. A parasite of a dimension that consumes minor planes, unraveling their structure to sustain itself, destroying everything within in the process. Well, almost everything. A civilization of sorts has sprung up among survivors of its feasts within its hyperdimensional gullet, clinging tenaciously to scraps of their shattered worlds anchored to the sides of its throat. When it feasts, they sally forth to rescue what and who they can before everything falls into the event horizon which is Terminus Rex's final stomach. Any number of devices and schemes are employed to this end, from mass telekinesis to flying crane ships to simple lines strung across the opening of the throat. Scraps from the length, breadth, and depth of the multiverse are represented in these ramshackle settlements. Every potential resource and tool is exploited to the maximum possible extent out of necessity; the extreme environment demands nothing less.

Only recently was a semi-stable metatunnel between this civilization within Terminus Rex established and regular trade could commence. Surprisingly few inhabitants have taken this opportunity to get the hell out; for most people within, the insides of Terminus Rex is the only home they've ever really known.

27. Disaster Demiplane(s): a phenomena that started when a powerful mage attempted to bend fate and time in order to undo a disaster that destroyed his home town. while he was successful it didn't turn out the way he wished. the town in his dimension along with the event and everyone involved were broken off from the plane creating a disaster demiplane. in the original dimension the place and people were replaced with clones based on the mages ideal vision but the actual location along with all the people became trapped in this demiplane.

a dimension created from the human mind, its possible for those with strong enough will to manipulate the environment and laws of physics to bend it to their will. after this discovery other mages attempted to replicate this process in order to create their own disaster demiplanes to varying success.

although it is still unknown the exact laws that govern the creation of a disaster demiplane, it is theorized that its only possible through the harnessing of the despair and sadness of a community of intelligent beings.

Bound within the span of 3 seconds, this plane encompasses a single belfry of a forgotten god. over and over, the sacred bell housing the deity's power is shattered and the god is slain. A desperate trick and attempt to retain life, this being cast the plane in a last ditch spell of time being locked forever in the 24 hours before the destruction of the bell.

Infinitely searching for a hero to protect it's bell, this being has since lost power to the point of it's reality and magical power being reduced to enough to keep the very last place and instance of power lost in motion, though none are sure when this last vestige of ability will fade away.

Should curious explorers want to visit, it is said that the infinite knowledge of the god screams out into existence at the second of the Bell's breaking. Particularly curious mages have spent lifetime in 3 second intervals, fighting their own mental limits to absorb as much of the scream as they can

29. Mnemos. A world occupied by creatures which communicate in concepts and raw experiences, using their psionic prowess acquired from prolonged exposure to an odd crystalline compound found on the planet; they trade in unusual and exotic experiences, found during travels or acquired from others. They are well-known for providing services to visitors of Calaythillatry who wish to collate knowledge acquired from the bell.

That stuff just seems to completely toss aside what Efpeyeas is supposed to be. Dinosaurs don’t fucking exist in modern war, let along cyborg ones, they already surely have clan wars going on. It’s not they need mind control as a motivation to fight seeing as they’ll disapear when they stop. Daily consumption of ghost peppers & cocane, sure, it checks out with everyone being rediculous fighter Cliché tough guys who reswawn when they’re killed.

The creatures that card slingers™ call forth with their cards are monsters from other worlds across the multiverse and are not of one specific dimension in origin.

Environmental cards similarly work by overlaying a piece of another world’s environment into their world in a rectangle area used for battle.

30. Hypernoid. The geometry of space in this region is in constant flux, with the shapes of the dimensions continuously changing. The constant tidal stresses and space-time flaws generated by this process have long since destroyed all solid objects within this dimension. Despite this, there is life of a sort within Hypernoid. The constant dimensional flux has given rise to entities composed of twisted space who find the distorted geometry hospitable. A civilization has thus come to exist even in this extreme environment, although communication is difficult with such alien beings. Most communication thus far has been in the form of math, as almost the only thing held in common. Nonetheless, the inhabitants are eager to try to converse with any interplanar explorers, greatly benefiting the study of hyperdimensional geometry.

31. The Wrecks of the Edmund Fitzgerald. This dimension consists of a lightless sea with no apparent surface, although the water pressure remains equivalent to about two hundred feet down regardless of how far an explorer ascends or descends. It is large but not infinite, and traveling far enough in any direction will eventually bring you back to your starting point. The bottom of this sea is dotted with numerous hydrothermal vents that support a rich ecosystem despite the absence of light. Most remarkable are all the shipwrecks scattered thickly across the sea bed, each and every one of them a copy of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald. An exact count has not been taken, but based on the size of the plane and the density of wrecks there are over a billion estimated Edmund Fitzgeralds throughout the plane. These wrecks have become havens for the local life. There is a local civilization of abyssal mermaids; their technology is mostly neolithic, but they have access to metal thanks to the many wrecks.

The port. Look to your left;endless shipping containers being dropped off bu space tugs. Look to your right, the same thing. You and your partner unload each container at your dock an put it on the Conveyor °. It might be a swarm of bees, some luxury cars, raw coca beans, octopi. Anything. After your 12 hour shift you punch out,and things become foggy in your memory, until your punching in again.

33. Stax. There is a cloud of pollution,a toxic miasma a half mile high that has killed all groundlife. Cities send tall pillars, pipes up into the sky for clean air. The pipe rats who keep these tube clear and maintain ed are treated like folk heros. Giant spiders, rats, mutants and other things have to be kept out.

34. Vaporfrazzle. A digital world much like Polygondwanalan or Metsys Nort who’s inhabbitents have long ago learned of their digitally based existence and have abandoned the old birnary functions of their origins to instead take charge of their system and live for play. This digital world is on of regularly changing colours and the universal iconography of the glorious 80s. Vaporfrazzlers relish in surfing the checkerboard oceans, battling cyborg dinosaurs & watching explosions at sunset on the hood of fancy cars in the shade of palm trees. The outside world is of little concern to them but they’re very eager to show outsiders a good time.

What were those old system functions that they cast aside to become a paradise? Nobody in Vaporfrazzle remembers and they don’t particularly care either. Some outsiders suspect that this digital universe originated from an old paint program which explains the vivid selection of colours. Vaporfrazzle itself has been on a rollercoaster of nearly fritzing out. Vaporfrazzle’s hardware is old and the program hangs on the brink of crashing. Still the party lives on for now and forever.

35. Kesh, The Inevitable City. You've been to this marketplace before, it's the one with the red walls and sprawling paths; each wall marked with endless stalls with a thousand peoples bartering for a million things. It's clay? No, it must be stone...How did it become red? The streets lined with a thousand and a million hold buildings...or cells. rooms or stores; this place is endless. Beyond the white sands and red walls towering over you, towers over them, the Inevitable, the city is dark and bright. Is it day or night;twilight? The towering thousand and a million all around you. There is always movement, the city has a pulse. Even the dead here walk. Shades, barely sentient on the move sell the living to become the new dead, inevitably. 24 hours or 48? When and why are we here? You can end up anywhere at some point and find a thousand and a million things. Inevitably you'll live here, and inevitably you will die.

36. Mergeland. This dimension is pervaded by a psychometric field which over time breaks down the various barriers between individuals. People who stay too long will find themselves gradually merging into a single entity, first mentally and then physically. The sole permanent inhabitant is the All-Encompassing I, as it styles itself; an amalgamation of millions upon millions of various entities. It is of course the sole permanent resident because anyone who stays too long becomes part of it. Although always eager to add more members to itself the AEI is not hostile, and indeed eager to learn about the multiverse beyond the confines of its home plane; as it would break down into a chaotic morass outside its native psychometric field, its only way of learning these things is through visitors, who it encourages. The worst any passer-through has to endure is its entreaties to stay just a little bit longer. It is possessed of vast mental and physical capabilities, which it is happy to turn on various problems presented to it in exchange for more news.

Your guys really should make this into a proper space hexcrawl.
>>
>>64563398
I originally intended this to be primarily fantasy, like the last thread - I expected descriptions of landscapes, inhabitants and wildlife, not bleak cyberpunk dross.

If two dimensions are far too similar, they will subsume each other and be counted as one.
>>
>>64563398
I think a hexcrawl would limit the very scope of this and challenge the idea of it being so surreal and immutable and putting it into something as mundane as a tile.
>>
>>
>>64563679
Precisely. Last thread we had things like flying trees fighting against rabbit AST civilizations, geometrical landscapes, and worlds with three magical suns. Personally, I believe this thread needs something more magical and majestic.
>>
>>64563679
A hexcrawl tile doesn't have to be a 6 mile bit of land. It can just represent adjacency and time to cross. So you could put the Dimension of Unstable Pudding next to the World of Memnos or whatever. It just means you can get from here to there. Hexes can be "12 hours" or "100 units of applied dimensional metal" or "1 wish" across.

It would be better suited as a pointcrawl, a la Slumbering Ursine Dunes in which every connecting line would be a metatunnel where several days would pass.

Unlike the last thread, I will categorize them.

38. Scriptorium

This strange 2-dimensional realm inhabited by wildly coloured and distorted beasts, both mundane and mythical has skies the colour and texture of parchment, and all things here are indistinguishable from margin illustrations in illuminated medieval manuscripts - people move stiffly and have extremely dull expressions. The terrain is composed of gentle hill-country and pastoral landscape. The inhabitants of this world are as zany as they are many, but the most prominent natives are humans, dogs and blemmye whose nations have formed an alliance to fight the evil Hare Empire and their vicious snail allies. Other races include everything described by Strabo and Pliny, like the Cynocephali, Antipodes, Cyclops, Centaurs and Skiapodes.

39. Verdua. This dimension takes the form of an immense three dimensional labyrinth with corridors frequently hundreds of meters across. Gravity is variable, adhering to the nearest 'wall' (really, they're all floors). Lighting is provided by intangible luminescent motes floating in mid-air. The labyrinth has been completely overtaken by plant life, much of which is mobile, carnivorous, or both; animal life is consequently rare, pushed out by the floral competition. The labyrinth is also home to a sophisticated civilization of dryads, who cultivate many rare and valuable plants and have developed unusual botanical technology. Unfortunately this civilization is divided into numerous antagonistic factions, waging strange and slow biochemical wars over particularly rich tracts of land. Potential visitors should keep this in mind.

40. Web. A world covered in forests from pole to pole, with soaring mountains, deep caverns, where life grows in abundance. The dominant life are highly intelligent insects that learned to work with both tools and magic. Preying on these insects are even larger spiders, their webs spanning between trees and are so thick that in many places the webs block out the sunlight from reaching the forest floor. Non-insects scurry through the undergrowth, venturing into the canopy to cut away webs, the material being highly magical with many beneficial properties.

The motes which illume 39. are actually the sundered shards of an ancient sun-god who chose this world as his tomb. They are the solar sprites.
>>
41. Wagonworld

An endless expanse of long silver grass or bright yellow or pink sand where the black, starless skies abound with dozens of colourful moons. Despite the colour of the skies, the day/night cycle operates as per usual, save with an exceptionally profuse frequency of eclipses. Colossal wagon-cities towed by petroleum engines are the primary form of civilization, for they must evade giant biomechanical monsters which prowl this world, which have leaked in from 5. Natural megafauna is extremely common. Wagon-cities war over oilfields, and the race which inhabits them is staunchly carnivorous.
