I think you know the drill. Every post adds a new fact about the setting that doesn't (directly) contradict prior posts. I'll start us off with three to lay the groundwork

>In the wake of a failed singularity, the Sol system is divided in two by cold war
>Sunward, the transhumanist Inner System Authority looks towards a brighter future where unimpeded technological progress will allow humanity to ascend to its rightful place as masters of the universe
>Rimward, the Jovian Federation takes a more cautious approach, wanting to build a future for humanity without destroying themselves in the fires of unchecked progress that left much of their prior glory in ruins

Cloaking devices are so commonplace that virtually all combat takes place between invisible combatants.

Ground combat involves opposing groups of soldiers and vehicles using advanced sensor probes, decoys, electronic warfare and ambush tactics to destroy the enemy before they are discovered.

The JF are experts at space infrastructure, with both Jupiter and Saturn being ringed with millions of orbital habitats linked by laser rails and fueled by hydrogen mined from Jupiter

The two factions are separated by the No Man’s Land of the Asteroid Belt, which has grown thick with stations holding pirates, mercenaries, scoundrels, and survivalist. The Belt is also used as a dumping ground for any dangerous experiments created by the ISA. Insane Cyborgs, out of control nanotechnology swarms, cannibalistic robots. Even some things darker prey upon those that live and move through the Belt.

I was about to ask a question and realized I can just make it up. Hopefully I'm doing it right.

>The ISA is spread amongst the first 4 planets from the Sun, with Earth being the ISA homeworld, formed by a hundred layers of cities creating a gigantic ecumenopolis.

Mars is a militaristic and scientific stronghold with experiments and weaponry bursting out its seams. The weapons itself are produced here from materials mines out from Mercury and the Asteroid belt. The military bases all improvements to soldiers on the scientific experiments done on and off planet, in ways to further combine the human body with machinery; Constant research is done on AI enhancements.

>When humanity first colonised the rest of the Sol system it was not a unified effort between the Earth's many nations. As a way of preserving cultural heritage, many historical building has been flawlessly mapped as as virtual archive complete with sensory input and made available for all.
This led to users adding those buildings as their personal sites in the Netsphere's virtual space, which eventually led to similar minded individuals clustering their sites together creating zones that would make an outsider believe they travelled back in time.

>waifu fagging this uncreatively
goddamn you suck. Here, Ill help your case a bit.

basing the idea from >>65760513 post, thanks to the differing ideologies and cultures during the mass colonization scramble, the definition transhumanism varied amongst many planets and peoples in said planets. Due to the ISA's emphasis on genetic engineering, many would partake on illegal alterations to their form. Planets like earth and venus have many of them, as well as factions within the Astroid belt.
>>
>>65760139
Venus is the ISA's second most poppulated region, and almost certainly it's most luxurious. The elite of the elite make their home in decadent floating cities perched atop the dense sea of clouds. Meanwhile, below, the worst of the worst of the ISAs criminals serve their time in drone bodies constantly dissolving under the intense heat, pressure, and scouring chemical winds, all in an attempt to dig up... something buried deep in a system of caverns the foremen assure them are perfectly natural
>>
>>65760720
The may be none that hate the ISA more than what we’re once called its “Transcendent Children.” These beings were supposedly the end-all and be-all of all transhumanist efforts. Accurate description of them is difficult due to the wildly varying reports of the eye witnesses to the massacres that took place shortly after their birth, however “beautiful”, “terrifying”, “swarming”, “hungry”, “hate”, and most of all “impossible” all featured in most accounts. Their fate is unclear, however it is most commonly believed that the Transcendent Children have either hidden within The Belt or have evolved past the understanding of normal men.

All data relating to the creation of the Transcedent Children was lost shortly after the incident. It is believed that either the ISA wiped all data on them or the children themselves deleted it.
>>
The singularity that nearly destroyed mankind was almost purely accidental. Unbound strong AI was the holy Grail and nightmare of many technologists, but eluded their grasp in the lab.

Instead, apotheosis is believed to have occured spontaneously when a number of otherwise subsingularity AI nets were linked together for greater utility. None of them individually had the capacity for self improvement in the fashion that led to the Collapse, but the leading theory says that the network that emerged from their overlap did, and in a violent spasm of hypercognition it achieved hard takeoff and rapidly moved beyond human ability to comprehend. This is the most widely accepted theory for how and why a transcendent AGI manifested in humanity's shared infrastructure, but the truth of the matter is still unclear

Although the asteroid belt is filled with pirates and crazy cyborgs, it is also filled with resource-rich asteroids that are the main source of resources for much of interplanetary infrastructure and transport, as it is much easier to mine something that's already in space than to deliver supplies from one of the planets.

Interplanetary mining companies send defense squads alongside their asteroid miners to protect from the inhabitants of the asteroid belt.

The Federation is the more socially and culturally diverse polity by far. The central authority and massive media industry of Earth meant that cultural homogenization was rapid and continuous. Even on Mars or Venus you watched Terran holos, you listed to Terran music, you followed Terran laws, and you ultimately considered yourself a citizen of and heir to Earth.
In the far flung colonies of the Giants and the rim, though, you were on your own. Many of the polities that would go on to form the JF had strong independent streaks, and many were founded in protest of the way Terran culture was heading. The Olympus station constellation, the policy leader and effective "Capitol" of the Federation, was born as a militant reactionary state opposing corpgovernment interference in society and the growing bioprogressive sentiment. These different societies would form their own cultures with their own arts, customs, and ways of life, and their diversity would make liberty, autonomy, and self regulation core values of the Federation.

The G-16 Light Cargo Transport is a common sight in and around civilized systems, as it is a cheap, sturdy and roomy for it's size, making it the ideal workhorse for any interstellar cargo and shipping industry. Powerd by the ZX-12 FTL drive it can travel 1 parsec (roughly 3 lightyears) in just 2½ hours, making it sutable for transport between close star system as well, not limiting it to intersolar travel, but not really suited for longer trips in the galaxy.

Is this any good, my first time contributing to something like this
>>
>>65760205

The goal in claiming other worlds is twofold. The obvious thing they want is real estate, but there is a prize far more valuable than any world if you position yourself correctly:

There are ships launched for other stars that date to either prior to or during the attempted singularity, built with ancient and in many cases lost technologies, as well as near-singularity AI computers. Many of these ships *have yet to arrive at their destinations*, and modern FTL can beat them to their target worlds.

The two forms of FTL are largely incompatible, making intercepting the shit en-route impossible. We have to wait for them to deccellerate, which they won't do until they approach the world they are aiming for. If you are there waiting for them when they arrive, a literal treasure trove will just fall into your arms.

>With space a premium in Jovian space many of their settlements are cramped things, all corridors, alleys and cramped apartment blocks. As such, their infantry is more used to fighting in such close conditions. They have a certain affinity for closer ranged weapons such as shotguns, and in some cases even eschew the use of ranged weapons all together. The spartan style of spear and shield has been making something of a comeback in the depths of the Jovian space stations
>>
>>65761744
Wait, have we established anything else about FTL? We know that it probably exists unless they're taking colony/cryopod slowboats to other systems, that FTL is time consuming and expensive if that's how their getting there, and that for reasons it can't go through nebulae and needs to slow down to sunlight to pass through. How fast is our sunlight, because I wasn't picturing too awful fast

There's an incident particularly popular among young students when a group of pirates decided to use low res uploads of themselves and a salvaged fast barge to "invade uranus", as they broadcasted it. The Jovians alerted them to stop, but their reply was about "not asking for consent" and that it would "go deep in uranus". As the long range scans showed no trace of weaponry and their vector wasn't close to any station, the patrols let it pass as to save fuel and indeed the pirate barge went deep in uranus before exploding.
It did not have any actual impact in history, but regardless it's a popular story used by history teachers to break the ice during classes.
>>
>>65761935
As a result of developing weapons and fighting styles that maximize lethality while minimizing breaches and collateral damage, Jovians are incredibly efficient in boarding actions, able to take and hold ships and stations with great precision, speed, and efficacy.
Unfortunately the same can be said of pirates using Federation tech and technique, and many of the most feared corsairs and ship-takers of the age got their start in the Navy's own Tactical Infiltration and Targeted Neutralization, or TITaN Corps

While not as minded towards genetic tampering and transformative sciences, the Jovian Federation still employs many 'tweaked' animal breeds to assist in both daily life and military service.

In the cramped eco-habs bound to Saturn's rings - often remarked as the most magnificent sight in the solar system, if only from the resort hubs dotted above the habitation zone - the sight of Janitor Raccoons and the numerous Terrier breeds performing their duties is a regular sight. Litter and detritus is gathered by the intelligent Janitor Raccoons, traded in for sweets and tasty meats with their handlers, and often citizens will be followed around by a pack of Janitors waiting to collect their trash. Interestingly, due to the cycle system of treats, the Janitors will often hoard trash in their homes until a certain day, when they will trade in all their garbage for a mountain of their favoured treat.

>>65763889
In spoiler because I don't want to "taint" the thread with random idea:
ISF finds a frozen corpse of a giant in Mars, they use its half-preserved genes to create a powerful bioweapon. Surprisingly it doesn't go berserk and kill everyone in the lab, but still shows more intelligence than the scientists predicted. Quite scary looking, but polite. Also could tie a shoe with single hand and pop a running man's head from a mile without assist.
>>
>>65763889
Sounds reasonable. Any irregularities or "anachronism"we can blame on uneven development and research AIs.

>>65763950
Also pretty good. We have definite (But maybe hidden?) aliens and mysterious structures on/under Venus, so why not this guy? Maybe his genes provide the basis for some wacky RE type bioweapon shenanigans?
>>
>>65763950
Well if we're pitching potentially controversial ideas...

HIEROPHANT-6, a gas giant in the lightly colonized HIEROPHANT system, has a secret. The Federation research station Augusta detected strange signals coming from within the planets atmosphere. Somehow a structure was suspected miles above the liquid hydrogen surface, unmoved by gravity or 2000 mile per hour winds. And it was broadcasting, sending out a strange melodic tone. The HIEROPHANT signal took years to decode, and when it was the results were shocking. The Hierophant object had been continuously broadcasting every single transmission, computation, or access to data in the entire system. Including human thoughts. What's more, researchers exposed to the initial signal found that they were handily able to recreate the effect using conventional tech, and some, if rumors are to be believed, were able to replicate it with no tech at all. Just their minds.

While the ISA is focused on progressing the human form, the class divide amongst a majority of its people is exceedingly apparent. From the ground-dwellers of Saturn to the low-orbit O'Neil cylinders on earth, the dichotomy only grows. This has created a Long history of small-scale civil wars amongst independent factions within the planet, with most of the groups either cults, bandits, or feral humans cursed by their constant abuse of genetic engineering becoming a parody of their once practical form.

Physically and culturally more diverse and defiant than what is normally seen within ISA society these groups tend to come from such sub cultures as the Ash Brats or Ashbornes, sons and daughters of miners and terraformers who worked the land when terraforming efforts allowed for such a thing.

They are set apart by their more mechanically rugged bodies and general resentment of upper society in general. While the majority are good people who detest being looked down upon many take this to the next step turning to crime other endevours.

It's rumored pockets of them are sympathetic to JF and may seek to align with them.

Mini railgun weapons with adjustable power outputs so you can fire slugs at subsonic speeds or as high as the power settings will allow

A pistol will never get as powerful as a rifle can of course due to power constraints and the fact that most humans aside from cyborg monstrosities can hand firing something like Nitro 660 out of something like a pistol.

That said, the knife should be a defining feature of JF spacers of all stripes. Multi purpose tool and killing implement because blood is easier to clean up then it is to repair a console filled with bullets

Cargo shipping in the JF is predominantly performed by laser-rail, simply propelling and slowing a vessel along a fixed (in stellar terms, as everything is constantly moving) path by blasting a targeted laser at the craft's solar sails. Cargo ships are required by JF law to keep at least one human on board to avoid classification as a kinetic weapon, and the laser batteries are similarly required to be below a certain threshold. The predictable nature of a cargo ship's path makes for easy pickings by dedicated pirates who know the rails.

cults are usually made up of humans who are on the brink of total insanity, with their body and mind so extremely contorted by their augments that they take the dogma of the ISA to the extreme. Some, with the power of neural communications brought to its extreme, are "connected" to one another, making their religious plans to achieve enlightenment of the human form all the more difficult to decipher. Some are initiated into the cult by choice, while most are kidnapped from the lowest-income areas in nighttime raids and forced to undergo the biological experiments and technological enhancements issued by the cults, further creating new members to defend their ideology and to further expand it.

One thing that always bothered me was the idea of borg like entities being done right. I hate how Star Trek kinda pissed away a lot of potential with the Borg to explore interesting concepts with them.

There was one episode I believe where there was a collective that had broken away from the rest of the Borg and willingly wanted to be part of a hivemind group but manipulated Chakote into helping force another collective into their way of thinking by essentially overwriting them.

Can you imagine the sort of social dynamics of people who enter into hive mind groups? Is it one mind dominating and dictating the actions of the others? Do they still retain their individuality but simply feel more comfortable being mentally linked to each other? What happens if someone from such a group commits a crime? Do you punish the collective of the individual?

Gonna submit a thing from my own scifi setting, might fit here too.

>There is a minor (but some say, growing) phenomenon in the ISA where beings with highly self-sufficient bodies revert to savage barbarism. In setting, the accepted explanation is termed [scientist name]'s Effect: The more advanced and less reliant on others a posthuman is, the less likely it will participate in society and may even begin to scorn it, growing to rely more and more on its own strength and only respecting those who can match it. This leads to scattered clans of individually powerful but numerically weak technobarbarians roaming abandoned settlements or barren wastes, taking what they please and leaving devastation in their wake, seeing more frail and society-reliant beings as soft and spoiled, only good for being raided. They are certainly not a united faction, but tend to share a loose creed that can basically be summarized as "humans need to become individually powerful and free and lose their reliance on each other. Every man should be a nation unto himself, free to do as he will as he spreads to the stars. The simplicity of barbarism combined with the technological power of the modern age is the ideal way of life."
>The ISA generally considers these groups to be little more than bandits or terrorists, but some claim that they may form into a serious counterculture to the ISA's own ideals.

In my own setting the phenomenon is almost universal but obviously that wouldn't work here.

These bodies are often dependent on the very scraps they collect thanks to the constant repairs they would need to fight off the feral beings and dire climate of the yellow planet. Most are hired by scientists and the elites of the ISA to retrieve rare artifacts of beings once lost on the baren toxic planet, and often need guidance of the Ashborne while offering them protection to complete such missions. This however is very rare and is one of the only times the Junkers decide to group up with others.

Magneto-Silicon frangible projectiles are manufactured in a nanoprinter furnace from carefully controlled levels of iron, silica, and other trace materials, a weaker bonding agent holds several "petals" of the material together. These projectiles can be made to function in conventional chemical, electromagnetic, or hybrid weapons and are designed to penetrate soft targets like light body armor, synthetic or organic tissue, and clothing before the bonding agent holding the round in one piece comes apart allowing it to fly apart inside the target creating several lethal wound channels. The relative brittleness of the silica causes MSF bullets to shatter harmlessly against metal bulkheads without causing much damage for use in ships or stations without self-sealing bulkheads.

>A strong wave of support for AI rights came from an unusual source: NEETs. Alienated by an increasingly atomized and isolated society, generations of young people, mostly men, came of age, lived their lives, and died with no prospects of romantic or even platonic relationships. In turn, they fueled a rising demand for artificial companionship of increasingly flexibility and complexity, eventually leading to cyberwives that are near indistinguishable from disembodied human egos.

The singularity need not be universal. Just because neoDARPAnet, Google, Kavout, and Pornhub decided to all hold hands and ascend to divinity doesn't mean that they necessarily want to take your smartwatch's personality program or the waifu you downloaded from Steam. Maybe it did, but there's presumably nothing preventing you from loading her back up once you've picked up the pieces of society

Genetic experiments in the martian facilities are always tested means to advance human intelligence, defensive capabilities, strength, and other aspects of life Scientists assign themselves to innovate. But after the great schism, the doctrine of the newly formed ISA required that there must be an advancement made in rapid succession, stretching concepts such as the scientific method to a smaller process for the sake of speed. This in turn causes genetic abominations to be produced in the Martian labs on a nearly daily basis, with most eliminated in the lab, but some being forced to restraints and sent out to the Asteroid belt to be marooned.

Many "failed" genetic aberrations are anything but. Instead, they are purpose-built self-replicating bioweapons whose predilections to dire mutation are, as the scientists claim, the results of a destabilized genome, but that unstable genome is itself caused by an inbuilt kill timer. These Biological Area Denial Systems, or BADS, are a foundational part of the ISA's border security system, limiting the ability of separatists, pirates, and Federation troops to establish a foothold in the belt. Many are capable of limited spaceflight and total hibernation, allowing them to spread through the belt fairly easily even when not strategically "lost" near problem sites, and most are capable of some form of asexual reproduction, allowing a single BADS to infest a whole station or cruiser given sufficient time and biomass

Such is the advance of the virtualspace of the Netsphere that people can, and do, live their entire lives within this space.

This has allowed for a number of businesses to have employees who live and work across planets and the business itself having no need for a physical presence of any sort.

There are some groups who wish to bridge the firewalled netspheres of the ISA and JF to essentially create a new virtual polity of their own

>Some Kiritti have taken the Junker and Technobarbarian ideologies to heart, but their own alien psychology gives it a twist - they mixed the self-sufficiency and self-improvement of the Technobarbarians with the salvaging nature and augmentation culture of Junkers, and they added a dash of one of their own warrior caste culture. This results in the Hunter Clades, a very loose network of wandering Kiritti martial artists roaming the belt, looking for lab-born aberrations, pirates, and bounties to hunt, kill and 'salvage' parts from, in order to further their own form. Some Kiritti travel this path to whet their Kiritti biology to its perfection, others to protect others from the predations of abominations and pirates, and still others for fame and glory, and perhaps a fitting death.
>Duels between Hunter Clades rarely end in both sides surviving, unless both have history as long as their list of modifications.

Sometimes a planet is lost after colonization and settlement. Sometimes by disease, sometimes by catastrophy, sometimes by folly. When things are considered increadably dire, a dead zone is declared. A dead zone is an area of space that is effectively super quarantined to prevent anything from either infestations to insurgents, to cosmic anomalies from getting in or out without company or government knowledge.

Often this is done to ensure control over the situation until the emergancy is uplifted and civilian operations and activities can resume. However, in rare cases a planet or even entire solar systems can be lost by bureaucratic error or simply forgotten. In the most rare cases, knowledge detailing dead zones have been altered or even deleted for the sake of corrupt agendas.

Regardless, these planets that are seemingly abandoned by the wider galaxy live in near total isolation, cut off from communication and supplies and left to fend for themselves. Adapting or dying in the process.

Whatever remains of the 'real' surface of Earth is usually preserved among the hundreds of ecumenopolical layers in large, suspended globes. These so called 'Heritages' are owned either by supremely wealthy individuals, corporations, or branches of the ISA government. Serving to show off and inspire almost as much as preserve, all Heritages are at least semi-transparent, allowing the masses to behold the historical structures, natural wonders, preserved biospheres, or just otherwise unremarkable but natural landscapes inside the atmospherically sealed and perfectly regulated microcosms. Heritages also simulate the natural sky, sunlight and weather effects to make the illusion perfect to the fortunate (and important) few actually admitted inside, and only the richest of men can afford to actually LIVE inside a Heritage, one example being Rikard Akton, CEO of the Sola Consortium, whose current residence is a primitive log house the man built himself inside Heritage Yukon I-03gh-Z.

The Resk are an insectoid alien race split up into 4 factions their 4 nation states on their homeworld. Their home system was a planet with an abundance of planets, this combined with the competition the nation states had against each other naturally lead to a push for expansion once their space race began. But most if not all their space related technological progression halted once the 4 factions began to actively sabotage and discourage each other from gaining any sort of upper hand in their rivalry.

Trans-human technology allows the blending on man, machine, and designer genetics in order to create new enhanced bodies suited to the commissioner's desires. Often, the people who go through the most expensive, radical, and performance enhancing transformations are rich enough to afford this are either morally bankrupt to obtain the funds for this change or are the drudges of society that no one could care if they go missing and end up as experiments.

Either way, if a person is enhanced to the point of being capable of action movie and anime style feats, you know there will be trouble ahead. Here we see the recorded death of a well known and beloved ceo of a NGO supoerpower that was later revealed to have been involved with every type of the worst crimes imaginable; from human trafficking and experimentation to genocide and exploitation. The primary subject showcased is just one of many victims of the companies' numerous laboratories.

Subject was last seen assaulting a private space port, boarding a ship for destinations unknown. No survivors from the port's personnel save for a janitor that was on paid-vacation in the arctic.

However, these negotiations are slowed up by the fact that individual K'ke't'ke resemble arthropods the size of hab blocks and communicate through overtones produced between noises of subsonic and hypersonic frequencies, tones used by terrestrial predators such as tigers to frighten and disorient prey and that still strike a nerve for most nearbaselines. The K'ke't'ke, or Whistlers as they've come to be known, are working on a number of avenues to overcome the issue, such as attempting to contact biotech and media firms to design envoy drones that will seem more "cute and friendly" and less "innately nightmarish"

The best way to populate a setting without filling up the galaxy with small, one-note aliens is with mutants, metahumans, and different cultures of human. So have something like that.

Decades upon Decades of ISA and JF experiments, endeavors, and the harsh living of frontier and space station living has led to the 'evolution' of many abhuman strains or mutant species.
Inside ISA space, massive gene-labs produce ever more strange and esoteric bioforms, most without a central nervous system, in attempts to find the form that best supports transhumanist augmentations. If these forms succeed in being good platforms, a nervous system is tailor-made, and trials continue. This being the ISA, failures are discarded with contempt, or converted into BADS or monstrous guard-dogs for their facilities.

In the JF, renegade genetecists, and those with transhumanist sympathies toy with flesh attempting to breed new races to fill specific roles. Miners, spacers, accountants, soldiers. Almost all of these attempts are illegal, with the Jovian authorities taking great measures to stamp out such ventures before they bare fruit. Almost all such endeavors completely all on their own however, resulting in slavering abominations to make even the most callous ISA scientist blush.

Some of these however, succeed. And the resulting beings, if intelligent and non-violent, are then subjected to rigorous citizenship tests by those Jovian leaders sympathetic to those they consider 'victims of the ISA nightmare', taking the political opportunity to slander the ISA and appear benevolent and caring.
>>
>>65796218
One such breed of mutant is the Capriform, goat and sheep-like mutants designed to excel in rugged, harsh enviroments such as mineral-rich mining worlds with little in the way of support.

Their genesis was carried out in complete secrecy on a distant system outside of either ISA or JF borders, and were chanced upon by JF deep-space scouting drones just as the first shipment of 'Ready-made' Capriform embryos, and several-thousand sterilized Capriform workers were being shipped off-world too the Diamond-Shores mining corporation. Following a brief JF raid on the facility and the corporations headquarters, the surviving mutants were patrioted into the JF. They have been succesful in spreading across JF space despite anti-mutant sentiment and their own, often gruff personalities.
>>
>>65796242
Some such beings have a much more natural origin. The strain of abhuman most common across the galaxy, regardless of national borders or politics are the simply titled 'Shipwights'
Generations living perpetually in space, alternating from artificial to microgravity, prepackaged rations and food-printed meals and the low-grade but ever-present radiation of space has resulted in a breed of human with alabaster-white skin, a wiry, lean build, thick, warming body hair and almost preternatural sensory capabilities.

Entire family-trees grow inside single ships that have never been on a planet, fleets owned by single extended 'crews' of shipwights. (Indeed, 'crew' and 'family' share a meaning to the tightly-knit communities of Shipwights) A divergent yet similar culture that examplifies the JF ideals of thriftyness, tenacity, and the spacer lifestyle. Valued for their natural aptitude for ship-life, many wights are captains, fleet-admirals, or CEO's operating from the bridge instead of an office. The ISA tolerates them, believing their presence acts as a solvent against their transhumanist ideals, and often pressure Wights inside of their borders to shed their 'weakened forms' for something better.
Despite their ubiquitous presence in space, they are a rare sight indeed on any planetary surface due to health complications ranging from a weak immune system (by the galactic standard), the dangers that higher gravities present to them, and exposure to sunlight, their almost pigmentless skin dealing poorly with anything that isn't artificial light. When seen, they wear full-body coverings, hands visible tapping at emergency medical kits with an anxious energy.

They are a diverse group, a trait attributed to their massive spread across known space, but they typically feature reserved, calm personalities, and feature a 'cold passion' when excited and interested.

I hope these two are good additions. This setting is already very cool.

Criminals caught by the Jovian Federation have a choice for how they would carry out their sentencing, but the most popular and the most dangerous is a volunteering program in which the offenders must partake on a colonization mission to an unknown planet and be stranded there for indefinite amounts of time. Once every month ships of varying sizes from many different exoplanets would be taken to an unknown planet, dropping off thousands of criminals with supplies such as armor, food, weapons, etc. After they are dropped off, it is up to the Criminals to survive, with most cases either dying to the harsh climate of the world or the criminals declaring anarchy and killing each other. On the rare chance they survive and create a community that is self sufficient, the JF (under immense review and debate) can integrate the world into their federation as equals
>>
>>65797044
Over the years however, the JF has cut back expenses on the program by reducing the amount of supplies and the quality of the equipment sent alongside the prison-barges.

While the first such endeavors had the convicts landing supplied with sophisticated pulse-rifles, point-force mining equipment, deep-space communications tech and pre-hab quarters, modern barges feature relatively primitive slug-rifles and vastly inferior technology.

This has been a double-edged sword, with convict fatality rates almost doubling in the short term, but the caliber of any resulting community improving, hardened by hardship and kept strong by ingenuity, alongside the attractive benefit of reduced cost to the JF and the prison-colonies being less of an attractive target to prisoners.

no, it is a "soft reboot", the 2012 prohet series you're looking at there is a continuation of the prophet/youngblood storyline from the 90's, taking place thousands of years after them. Instead of being more garbage 90's edge, they turned it into a transhuman/posthuman space opera. Honestly I think it's one of my favorite stories, in exactly what it does with the basic bitch superhero setting and how it changes it, discarding the back-to-status-quo formula.

>>
By population count the ISA is technically the smaller faction, though the term 'designer nation' is frequently thrown around in the media to laud this smaller count. Accident babies are a thing of the past, and children are always tampered with to some degree, selecting for physical health and desirable mental traits. Classically attractive traits including tall statures, clear skin, and leaner builds are typically selected for, but fashions change quickly and the human genome is as subject to trends as much as anything else. A slew of thick-bodied and hook-nosed children are born following a particular starlet's meteoric rise to fame, but a scant year later a majority of children are rail-thin and lanky to match the cast of the most popular show on the Net.

Repercussions from these constant changes are ingrained in society, and a vast number of citizens suffer from 'Designer Dysphoria'; as children no longer look like their parents, as fashion babies grow up and become outdated throw-backs to old trends, as unease sets in when 'the new model' comes about. Genetic therapy and cosmetic surgery are the two largest industries in ISA space, and constantly growing as the need to update and change becomes so integral in daily life.
>>
>>65801477
ISA I feel is pretty cyberprep/cyberpunk depending on how shit your life is. Your quality of life is simultaneously really bad and really good. Your quarters are probably cramped unless you can afford to live off Earth, and pollution is probably China tier at Best, but you have access to levels of material indulgence and tech that would have been limited to the top 1% just a generation ago. You probably don't fully own your body, both in the "obligated to sell your labor to capital" kind of way but also in the literal "you have a mortgage on your morph" way. But you also have peak human performance and stamina just baseline and have nice augs and genetweaks on top of that if you're anybody. Your work is probably pointless bullshit that would be mind numbing if you couldn't hotshot your brain to like it. Now doing expense reports is better than sex!

More technologically permissive groups like the Mennonites, however, survived. As a result, their tech is rather glitchier than the Jovian's.

Exposed researchers suffered from sensory displacement, 360 degree viewing, and periodically appearing to be several feet away from their actual location.

All objects were discovered independently and kept secret, yet exposed researchers showed a number of bizarre synchronisations. All teams invariably began to refer to the objects as "waystones", were instinctively sure that others existed and were part of a larger system, and those exposed clustered together socially in preference to those who had not been

The ISA approaches war as a testing ground. A place to prove their supremacy, the perfection of the transhuman form(s). Beautiful and horrific at the same time. A protected childs idea of war, projected on to perfectly engineered killing machines.

The JF approaches it 'properly'.

Going into the late 2350s, many experiments have become cataloged as TrechClass creations, becoming harder and harder to dispose of, and nearly impossible to kill. To combat this solution, the Martian engineers have created machines known as "Rippers". These manufactured barbarians are few and far between, but have the arsenal of a small militia. The Rippers constantly patrol their assigned sectors within the scientific district of Mars, waiting for a TrechClass experiment to go loose to obliterate them and feed of their biological essence. Talks of Rippers being deployed on Venus' surface are currently in the works.

So the ISA are pretty focused on flair and experimentation. Trying to see if the experimental cute-faced battle angels with sensual appearances and untested weaponry will preform well, making alterations and improvements as the war wages on. Like how a tyranid hivemind makes adaptations to its brood as it wars against the ground forces. Except they don't intend to destroy the planet, they just want to profit from its resources while broadcasting its battles back home as a TV show for ratings and money.

While the JH approach it as a conventional war like in real world except with the possible addition of trying to make war as bad looking as possible in an attempt to lower ratings and deal an economic blow to the ISA who profit from the battles.

Combine the two. The more designer-clothing looking ones could be a lot more independent traders and dealers of tech, and are most likely going to be a part of illegal activities
The more militaristic ones are those on large outposts, and the JF could require a large chunk of its members to be involved with the military or any occupations that help increase it's potency. I imagine they have a lot more military outposts facing the asteroid belt nearest to Jupitor, and where most of their citizens would live in large constructs of habitats orbiting Saturn within it's rings.

Even on the battlefield, Jovians display the pragmatism and austerity stereotypical of their spacer heritage. This is exemplified in their military ethos, "knife, hammer, spear". If given the option, Jovians prefer a series of small surgical strikes and special operations to full scale battle, preferring to apply only what force is necessary where it is needed and no more. This is the knife. Should it fail, or not be an option, then they fall back to overwhelming force. Satellite laser arrays, sRKKVs, neutron bombings, antimatter warheads, or even the Eye of Zeus itself. Cripple the enemy and their morale in as few strikes as possible. This is the hammer. If both of the above fail then and only then are traditional troops deployed offensively, and conventional warfare begun. This is the spear

In conjunction with this is the role of the citizen-soldier, sometimes called the shield. All Federation citizens of the age of majority are required to spend at least 4 years plus two months of each year after in civil service, doing station maintenance, adminstration, construction, or most popularly, the military. Most citizens have at least gone through basic weapons training and station defense drills are held regularly

Prior to the singularity crises, the first Prison world was Ceres, where Prisoners would be stranded on the Dwarf Planet and forced to mine asteroids and sell to independent companies from earth. This would create an economic boom in the 2200s which led to the prosperous increase in the quality of life on the planet, prompting many non-convicts to find work there as well. As the war began its first large-scale battles within the Asteroid Belt, many would find refuge in Ceres, now with a large Ecumenopolis as its outer shell, and subaquatic cities as its inner shell. Many people independent of the 2 warring factions now venture to this place to smuggle goods, trade, collect bounties, share illegal information, and to simply rest. The ownership of the dwarf-planet is ruled by the granddaughter of the first settlers. She maintains order throughout the dwarf planet and to the many warring barbarians within their vicinity of the Belt, makes uninclined truces with both the Jovians and the ISA, and illegally helps eliminate the exponentialy increasing threat of the BADS via hunting competitions known as "The Great Harvest" for a lump sum of cash and resources to the winner twice every rotation. There are many talks of artifacts from a race once present in the Solar System, but information on the subject that isn't fabricated is extremely rare.

>>
The latest and trending fashion in the ISA comes from Venus. The luxuriant who enjoy their living among the clouds live carefree from the politics of earth, the science and industry of mars, and the anything else either. Venus has become the hub of popular culture and even some of the affluent citizens among the JF admire what happens there.
Venus is also dominated by a futuristic Art Deco type of architecture. Embracing the greatness of man and praising its will to progress.

The former, basically.
>>
>>65805515

>>
>>65805374
yeah I wouldve preferred a more human-centric story, with talk of "aliens" brought to a bare minimum, with only artifacts and shit. But someone introduced the 2 different ones but I do hope they are the only 2. I don't want this to spiral out of control.

ISA nobles get the priority in all health and medicine, augments, and fashion statements. The most influential of the nobles call themselves The Minerva who also double as world leaders on Venus. Unlike the middle class populace and even more unlike the poorest of the poor on Earth, Augments are given to them once they are 100% tested by scientists, preventing the likelihood of mental degradation and loss of sanity to a minimum. This is a big deal, as most augments are rushed into production for the consumer populace to purchase in the name of "further transcending as a species". This has cause all sorts of problems from common hardware glitches, public distrust and unrest, or complete urban warfare like in the case of Hardwar3 Inc., which augments-- while flashy and cost-effective-- caused mass death in the thousands and injury in the millions, resulting in a societal war against the company and all its constituents in 2372

A group of stone-faced Aliens called the Arkalon are actually powerful empaths who communicate through the transmission of feelings and never had a need for complex facial muscles and expressions or body language as they can just feel what the other is conveying, which makes all their verbal language pretty flat, conveying emotions through their empathic connections and leaving their spoken language for the direct transmission of non-emotional information.

As a consequence, humans seem to be overly emotional to them, and are distinctly aware when a human finds them distrubing or is actually insulting them.

They're also bad liars due to everyone being an empath and know when you're lying. The concept of concealing your feelings is foreign to them, and it makes contact with humanity very frustrating and confusing, since everyone seems to be lying at least a little bit all the time.

The Netsphere while extremely advanced, is much like our internet today. The government watches over the thoughts, job performance, social medias, etc. of the citizens to discover crimes against the state and to control general opinion. the Netsphere also has levels of the service, with 2 of the 3 levels exclusive to the elite. The two levels of access are used by the nobles and their ilk to communicate their political advancements and plans, secure communication to other nobles without the public eye, and other features. the most restricted level of the Netsphere are the archives, which act as a bastion of human history and scientific prowess. Though this is only accessible via the Netsphere by the ISA, whilst the JF must rely on a copy of the archives created just one year after the schism.

>Resk (also rarely seen, mostly ambassadors and similar diplomatic officials)
>Arkalon (even rarer, usually scholars studying human culture)

Oh yeah, didn't see K'ke't'ke >>65795997 and the giant >>65763950

Well, as I see it, the giant is the only one of its kind, so yeah, 1 precursor race - the Arkalon and the Resk doesn't have enough lore that links them to humanity in general. We could fold the Resk's backstory into the Kiritti's development post-contact with humanity, while the Arkalon could easily be converted into one of the telepath offshoot of humanity.

So, publicly known xenos are Kiritti and K'ke't'ke (or otherwise known as Spiders), minimal presence in human territories, as in their combined settlements could be counted in one hand.

Whaddya guys think?

though the archive itself is secret, public domains of information are in fact present in the many realms of the Netsphere. These psuedo-libraries of information are linked with the restricted archive, called Analects, and sometimes they can be hacked to see which information has been redacted in certain subjects. This is only possible through the refreshing of the Analects which can reveal the hidden documents, though a vast majority of said documents are even still sterilized of information, with many books missing entire chunks.

Of Sol, or of human territory. Cause if its the former its the Jovians and if it's the latter than I reckon it's either a mishmash of the two or the ISA
>>
>>65809027
As for what they look like I reckon that depends on who owns them. It's probably a lot of blocky prefab buildings for both sides, but I like to imagine ISA worlds being dominated by massive self-contained city cubes dropped onto the planet from above. Kinda like hive cities in 40k, only more box shaped and entirely prefab. Or do you think that might be more a Fed thing?
>>
>>65809768
I can see prefabs being used by both sides, but JF ones are more blockier and functional/modular, while the ISA just drops raw materials and a nanite capsule that will assemble a building.
>>
>>65807355
Yeah, but I imagine that whilst that might be cheaper than cybernetics it'll probably be more common among the upper classes. If you're poor and you lose a limb your cheap replacement of choice is more likely to be cybernetics, mostly because their glitches won't cause cancer.
>>

oh dammit just finished reading from the start. Lovely stuff here anons!

I think we need to clarify FTL speeds at least and the numver of extra-sol colonies. Not more than dozen successfull of the latter?
>>
>>65814859
Probably not, no. One of the big themes for the colonies seems to be that there's a small number of known habitable ones, and that getting people to them is arduous and expensive so there's a lot of inter-colonial proxy fighting. I've been picturing periodic waves of big, fuck off colony ships that can function as a colonial center once they arrive, hooked up to some kind of one shot warp drive. At least for the JF. Maybe the ISA sends leaner factory-ships loaded up with colonist egos and extractor drones to build new infrastructure and bodies on-site
I think we have maybe seven or eight named colonized systems so a dozen seems like a good upper cap.
>>
>>65814970
Dozen major colonies it is (lets catalohue our extrasolar systems at a later time)

>>65762014
FTL: how fast? If we got waves of ships FTL-ships are not that costly to make (or JF just straps drives on old ships). What are the limits of FTL? we got the glorius rule of >>65782537 at least. For colonies to feel sufficiently distant, i suppose that FTL is capped to 5xLightspeed (for the best ships, common is like 2x) so most are fast but journeys still take months to years.

Given >>65761904, it feels that presingularity was rather traditional acceleration/deceleration. Perhaps all post-singularity FTL uses long-distance jumps (with cold sleep still needed?) requiring intence calculations, not possible presingularity?

Countless times he has used his Cerberus-Class battle armor in increasingly unorthodox ways, often netting the army he serves with at the time grand victories. Despite an impressive service record, he remains relatively undecorated.

Much of the Brass of the JF military disapproves of his reckless approach to war, his seeming disregard to the chain ot command, and his obvious pleasure on the battlefield all display the marks of a dangerous personality, and if rumours are to be believed, a growing love for wanton violence going beyond what patriotism and service demand.

Yeah, I'd say human FTL is around 2x the speed of light (or Factor 2, in this time's technical terms), while String FTL is around Factor 4 or Factor 5, so yeah the JF is very interested to get an edge in the colonization business.
Perhaps FTL also require that kind of intense navigational computation so you don't end up inside a planet or something, so Navigator AIs/ego-aggregates that are dedicated solely for that is needed for long-range FTL jumps.

Maybe the ISA is more 'traditional' in their use of FTL (medium to long-range jumps), while JF invents new ways to use FTL (ultra-short-range FTL to literally teleport behind the enemy fleet, emergency FTL escape routes, etc).

One of the legendary personas gracing the Asteroid Belt, Captain Rosemary was once a holovid actress from Venus. While the original Actress Rosemary lived, died and had her ego stored in Venus, an illegal copy of her ego found her way in the Asteroid Belt, and fell in love with the swashbuckling lifestyle. This ego rebranded herself as Captain Rosemary, jacked a pirate ship as her body, and shanghaied enough crewmen and AI to begin her illustrious new career. Since then the ship that is Captain Rosemary has undergone several body-jumps and refits, and a sizable bounty had accrued to bring in a quarantined main-source that is not a copy.

Captain Rosemary still sticks to some of her original copy's lifestyle and charisma, though, so instead of the usual quick board-and-loot scenario of other pirates, she spices it up with theatrics and drama. Part of the reason why her bounty's so high.

It's easy to get bundled up in ones negative thoughts and emotions with the constant struggle and cramped spaces of most spaceships, and entire genres of music have been produced, studied, and remixed endlessly to find the tracks best suited to helping people work through the complex issues presented to all space travelers, commonly known as 'Spacers worry'.

How actively ISA and JF are actually against eachother? some details mention battles even, but OP mentioned that there is a cold war going on with asteroid belt and the colonies. Even their approach to war is different: >>65804381
>>65804520
Perhaps there was an actual war/conflict at some point? >>65805235

It almost feels that ISA solified itself first after the collapse, and JF unified _because_ ISA conquest-attempts. but how many these attempts have been actually/officially?

Maybe in the beginning the ISA consolidated first, and started expanding outwards beyond the belt. This caused the outer rim colonies to band together into becoming the JF, starting from the Jovian colonies and over time having the others join in too. With a unified JF, ISA expansionism was halted at the asteroid belt, which then cools down into a cold war and proxy wars in the belt and off-system worlds.

Oooooooh, I like Fractured Singularity. Ties back to the cold-war situation in a way.

Vanessa Noct is one of the ISA's leading scientists, known for her work in the field of cybernetics. She's over a hundred years old, but eschews full body transfers, preferring instead to augment her original body, often using it as a testing ground for her less potentially fatal experiments. Noct is one of the full blown mad scientist types, known for secretly experimenting on her lab assistants and for having a fascination with the 'failed' experiments of her contemporaries. She has a menagerie of mad cyborgs plucked from the belt which she experiments on in her spare time. No one's sure if she's trying to fix/find a good use for their tech, or if she's just having fun. To be totally honest, it might be both.

In the no-man's land of the asteroid belts, there lives a story of the Merchant in Gold. Drunken rumours and campfire myths are common amongst the numerous holdouts in the belt, and many such tales have the truth mixed in with the lies, but not many tell as much truth as this one.

In the cold, quiet, dark, a smuggler passes through the asteroid fields. A hundred-tonne of stolen AI cores stacked high in his cargo hold. He comes from one side of the belt to the other, selling as he goes, feeding all the little wars and murders, and feeding his own greed along the way. He is alone in his ship, alone save for the ship. Alone, until he hears a knock on his hull, once, twice. Not the clatter of debris against Whipple-shields, not the creak of the ship's metal skeleton. The rap of knuckles on a door.

The ship tells him there are no others around. It tells him there is not a thing outside except for the shifting mountains of stone. The ship opens the outer airlock without his say, and in steps a slender figure in gold, stooped over to fit its height inside. It says nothing, but reveals a single coin with a strange symbol stamped on it, and sets it spinning in the zero-g airlock. As quickly as it came, it steps out of the airlock back into the void, leaving only the coin.

The smuggler scans the ships logs. The smuggler pores through every reading captured by the sensors. He finally walks the length of the ship, thinking of where the thing in gold came from. But, to his surprise, there's nothing left of his cargo. Every crate gone. Every ID tag missing. He thinks of the buyer he had made so many promises to. He burns hard to the nearest free port and walks off his ship, taking only the coin.

A week later, the AI cores reappear in faction space, hardware broken beyond repair, crates bearing the same mark stamped across the smuggler's coin.

The sheer ubiquity of power armour use in the Jovian military means that most new soldiers need a crash course in their use. For this purpose, the Federation utilizes the Hoplite armour. Though it doesn't provide as much protection as other armour classes, Hoplite armour still provides a not unreasonable increase to the wearer's speed, strength and agility throurgh both an inbuilt exoskeleton. All in all Hoplite armour is incredibly easy to use, only having temporary sheilding capabilities on top of basic flat increases to the wearer's capabilities, making it ideal for new recruits. As such, practically every Jovian military base has a number on hand both for training, and to hand out to conscripts in the event of an attack.

A new sensory drug has been invasive in the galaxy, called BTL or Better-than-life chips. What was a niche and small narcotic in Earth has expanded into an intergalactic drug trade that threatens the stability of society.

Oh and there's a sex bot uprising near Earth's sector, they fire dildos and onaholes to their foes.

There are many myths and legends in the galaxy, one for example is the history of ship that for mysterious reasons went deep in the galaxy and came back ton of years later, the people of the ship would tell histories of the weird alien cultures and artifacts of enormous power, this history of course change depending of the planet and zone so is just considered a history of drunk ship workers, another famous legend (or in some cases a conspiracy) is that during the first years of the colonization of Mars ruins of ancient civilizations were discovered on the depths of the planet, this ruins were hidden by the authorities of that time and still remain until today, some people may tell that in these ruins they found scraps of technoly that were later use to create our technology, others said that the devolutioned inhabitants are still living in those ruins and some may tell that in the deep of those catacombs may reside something even worse that any mad ISA scientist can create.

It is almost commonplace for megacities to have a massive gang presence, and in fact, several times throughout ISA and JF history, these Megacity crime-lords have suddenly found themselves in positions of legitimate authority as mayors, overseers, and advisors to power when they grow so experienced and influential that the powers-at-be recruit them, often for the paltry price of pardons and better living conditions.

More then one political dynasty had its founding member find such origins as an uplifted City Ganger.

A "disease" that is currently becoming more comong mostly in SAI territory are called the "exiled in pleasure", (I am not sure about the name if you have a better one suggest it) this exiles have been completely overwhelm by the pleasure that genetic or robotic changes, drugs or the net that are in a completely catatonic state when found.

A religion cult of trans humanists that is currently expanding in SAI worlds is the cult of the "great leap to heaven" this cult are promoters of the idea that the only way to be one with the grandfather is that humanity must ascend to heaven trough the uses of technology and genetics. This cult claims being another branch of the Abrahamic Religions that has adapted to the new current reality. Their main book is the "Quod est instrumentum divinitatis" written by saint Machivian the Great Visionary their founder and still current leader two centurys ago

Fractured Singularity is good enoigh.

Larremsa Incorporated is one of the greatest megacorps of ISA. By rough estimations they own a quarter of Venus infrastructure through their many shadowcorps and allies. They also have sizeable assets at Mars, but none at Earth due losing out a trade-conflict versus the Sola Consortium twenty years ago.

Govermed by trio of Larremsa scions and a fractured ai-recreation of Niobe Larremsa, the founder of the company. Notably "LARINC" does not deal with biotech, preferrin material technologies and construction. Many vehicles and habitats bear their symbols both on planetside and spaceside.

Latest rumours regarding LARINC is that their trio-CEOs have merged their minds using forbidden synchtech to finally combat the everpresent influence of the AI-Niobe.

A lot weird things are told about the habitans of the Asteroid Belt, one of this examples is the existence of a nomad group know as the Knighs of the Endless Void, this larpers was started when raid a ship that was full of historic data, this leader (now called Sir Charles of Juno) of this pirates went obsessed with the figure of the old knigths, now the group travels the solar system as wandering and acting as stereotypical knighs seeking for just quests and ending with all the evil monsters and evildoers, even if the group is convinced in this purpose, they have been know for being too simple and easy to manipulate, for example a pirate gang may told to the knighs that a rival gang must be destroyed because they have been terrorizing them, the Knighs will destroy this gang in goodwill, but without knowing the real purpose of the gang that send them. Still this knighs have been romantisazed by the legends that are told in JF and SAI territorys and some fools with good intentions of this territories have join them in their endless quest to justice.

That makes a lot of sense. It also allows us to maybe have some interesting internal struggles between Jovian worlds

Did some good anon already preserved all the things we have put here?

Not yet, might do something later to 1d4chan.

I think we have many interesting ideas currently but are slightly lacking focus. Both extraterrestial planets and the Abelt are great adventure hooks/locations at least while FS and ISA are interesting and murky factions. I think next thread should keep going as we have already done, just a bit more on the "what stuff is interesting to play" consideration. Is there some pc-friendly organisations?

also: what is the population of sol roughtly? 10 billion? more? how postapocalyptic SOL still is?

>>65830416
Juat getting some Swords of Avalon vibe from these. Good times..
>>
>>65832123
For pc friendly organisation's I think that that for example some mining stations could be friendly to anyone and just be neutral trading stations for wanderers and independent merchants, also the independent and neutral planet of Ceres can be a good starting point
>>
>>65832123
Should probably also archive the thread on Sup/tg/, just so all the material from the thread is easily available. As for how post-apocalyptic SOL is, I don't think exceedingly. Then again, I'm not sure it would be that apocalyptic in the first place. The ascension would have caused issues, but not necessarily 'Only a third of the population still alive' issues. If SOL is post-apocalyptic, I reckon it's post-apocalyptic in the same way Europe is. A terrible thing happened that killed millions some time ago and lead to the loss of a reasonable amount of knowledge, but society didn't completely break down. New orders have emerged, but they didn't have to completely rebuild the government first. Or at least, they didn't always.

Law enforcement within O'Neill Cylinders of the JF is very similar to traditional enforcement, but with hackers, robots, and everything between and beyond committing crimes for the police to put away. Though their jurisdiction is in the O'neill Cylinder of their residence, they can hold such jurisdiction in capitol cities and settlements of the JF, as well as other O'neill Cylinders within the JF's control

Salvaging is an all-too common career for thousands of people across the Sol system, as piracy and conflict run rampant, ships are left floating in space, derelict and abandoned.

'Scavvers', 'Vultures', 'Blasphemers', the titles and insults to such people are common. But amongst them, a mysterious breed has emerged. Freshly-destroyed ships picked clean not of valuable ship-components or the data the shipboard computers held...

But of the bodies.
Distant battlefields on backwater worlds picked clean not of the gear, but of the ruined corpses of slain combatants. Across the Sol system bodies, gore, severed limbs, it doesn't matter. But at times a dark shadow will appear over the still-cooling battlefields and leave no corpses unclaimed in their wake.
Strange things happen in strange times. But what has even hardened spacers and troops feeling the hairs on the back of their neck stiffen, is that the ISA and JF alike refuse to talk about it. No reports, no news coverage, nothing.

And the pirates? They might just walk away, they might break your jaw, either way they're not talking about it.

No one is.
And maybe no one should.

Even in the darkness of this galaxy movies still exist, of course in different formats, using the new technologies people can put themselves in the movie even interacting in it, the line between movies and games is very little, the kind movies you can see in the setting are:
-Propaganda films are very abundant logically in both ISA and JF, depicting (of course with lots of inaccuracies) victories of both sides, in the JF usually the ISA are depicted as mad scientists that just want to create monsters and abominations, while in SAI movies the JF is depicted as a overly military idiocracy of close minded people.
-In historical movies thanks to the lost of tons of historical records this movies are almost fantasy sometines, for example in a WW2 movie Hitler and Eisenhower will command their armies personally in combat, using planes with the form of swastikas in the nazi side or soviet soldiers attacking with hammers and sickles
-Expiremental movies are very common, interacting with the sensations and feelings of the person interacting with it
