1d4chan page for system(WIP): https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Koschei_System (see above git)

Alright, so where'd we leave off last? Oh, right. We finished rolling up some Orks that crashed into the moon. We also made a suit of relic armor and rolled up a lot for a parasite dog that apparently lives in the waste, and made a couple of Underhive houses to give us a glimpse down under.

So stuff to work on I guess.
-Hive life in general so far seems a pretty nice life as far as hives go.
-Writefaggotry
-Drawfaggotry
-Flushing out the other three moons(still gotta work on adding the first two to page).
-Settle on heraldry.
-Maybe do some stuff for the gangs.
-Argent Strix past events and ways of life.
-Which gangs we recruit from.
-Fully flesh out aspirant trials.
-Do some stuff with those Orks maybe.

>Hive life in general so far seems a pretty nice life as far as hives go.
We haven't done much with chaos marines or other xenos outside of the Orks and Native life so that's still on the metaphorical table. Although I'm sure that Tzeentch and Slannesh would have a field day with our world.
>Which gangs we recruit from.
I can see the Familia Stalisi and the Duster Caravans, mostly because of how they operate. House Chesire and Girls Club? I don't think they bother with them.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Sanguinius and Guilliman had some weird artificial clone-soldier children, and then they grew up to be Roman Vampires with a penchant for rip-and-tearing approaching that of the Black Templars, except they then turned the entirety of their rage to daemons to the point they will eat their hearts in order to banish them?

Because we made that. And then we started making a planet for them to live on and accidentally filled it with killer clowns, the cyber-mafia and some incredibly angry women with knitting needles. We might have also made a horrible frog-monster who eats people and lays eggs in the corpses, then flung an asteroid filled with Orks at the world for good measure. It's quite a ride.

>We haven't done much with chaos marines
You know honestly as interesting as this planet is to the ruinous powers it seems pretty much impossible for them to get a solid foothold. With the presence of not only the Ecclesiarchy and the Inquisition, but most of an Astartes chapter at times. Along with the well-armed and pious population.

So, it's possible there's a Titan being repaired somewhere in-system, that the Orks want to loot back again.

It'd be interesting to throw a SMALL cult into the underhive, and best part of the heretical cult table is it doesn't have to be Chaos, can be xenoes or ancient tech.
>>
>>71371370
Xenos or Tech sounds interesting. Be kind of nice to have a Hive city that's actually managing to remain faithful for once too, admittedly.

Plus the local Astartes are already primed to fall what with their blood drinking debauchery ceremonies.
>>
>>71371411
The Strix are such a strange bunch.

Like their debaucherous rituals with the whole occasional bloodletting and stuff would make them seem vulnerable to Slaanesh's excess aspect. But it's organized and structured. Used as a tool to help teach the young restraint and solidify the ideals of the old.

Their butchery and hate probably makes Khorne salivate. But it's turned completely towards him and Chaos, like the Black Templars do it. If anything it just seems to strengthen their resolve against him.

Topped off with some self-penitence for their mutations.

Chaos is like a fire that seeks to burn you and charr you beyond recognition. But the Strix are already burning themselves so there's nothing for Chaos to catch.
>>
>>71371020
>-Flushing out the other three moons(still gotta work on adding the first two to page).
One of said moons, perhaps the one the orks landed on, might be the planet's source of water. Its origin might be a massive comet trapped in the planet's gravity well. The local infrastructure might include mass drivers aimed at the planet, firing building-sized water canisters every few seconds. Certainly a worthy resource to be fought over but also something that prevents the planet from simply bombarding the orks, as it would blow up its water source all over orbit.

A comet might also have organic compounds such as phosphorus, a bottle-neck for life, specially in a hive world.
>>
>>71371595
I quite like the idea that there's a house in the underhive of the Hives that helps to supply them with water by making artificially through machinery and chemicals.

But surely they wouldn't be able to produce the water for 14 billion people by themselves. So I quite like the idea of the ice firing moon as well.

They land in the wasteland and the Hives send people out to harvest them before they evaporate entirely. Along with the Duster Caravans heading out to harvest from them and offer protection to people who want to head out with them to harvest if for some reason they believe they might be deprived of water in the near future. It'd also make some sense why they have so many Bounty Hunters after them. They don't want the Dusters, they want their water/ice.

The Water Houses can provide for maybe 6-8 Billion. But the other half has to come from harvesting.

Someone made this Emblem last thread. I like the OP one more as a Chapter symbol. But I also like this one, and think it'd work well for the scout company.

The regular upturned symbol of the Ultramarines to remind them of their heritage with the Owl being vigilance against corruption and wisdom.

>>
>>71371839
This reminded me of when I was looking up roman vampires, there were also a couple cases of the dead spirits needing blood to communicate with the living.

Put a twist on that, the Strix have blood stored away of astartes past. In some rituals, they're drunk for the genetic memory, to gain more insight on how another fought or faced challenges.
Kind of a weird.. bloodline.. memory phylactery deal.

Adding to the Archives is a minor honour usually immediately after achieving some great feat, because hey now that's a memory that should be passed on.
It's incredibly unreliable, even when the drinker absorbs the memories it's often not of the feat in question. On occasion though the ritual succeeds, and the Marine 'inherits' the memory of that event.
>>
Now since we got a fuck ton of people living in this Hive World with high amount of defenses and Inquisitional presence. Do we want to roll up a Imperial Guard Regiment at some point in the near future once we got the rest of the moons out of the way?

>>71371966
I can easily see the sentence "Your blood is worth saving." as a complement being used by them.
>>
>>71371998
>"Your blood is worth saving."
Now and then, a non-astartes will be deemed worthy of the honor.
If a squad of marines bursts into a sieged building only to find everything already dead and a handful of exhausted Guardsmen surrounded by las-scorch marks and frak-craters.. and piles of dead xenos/witch/traitors/add-or-delete-as-appropriate then hoo boy, that was some fine work there!
The apothecary might well take a blood sample as part of the physical examination they give.. only for it to end up in the Archives.

A daemonhunter who managed to banish a daemon on their own, a stormtrooper who fought alongside the Scarlet Strix on campaign.. plenty of ways to impress the Chapter and for them to seek an addition to the Archives, openly or discreetly.

Some are of course far too precious to ever really use up, being more minor relics for the Chapter. After all, who is worthy of making the attempt to inherit the Blood of Fuhor? Can anyone really have genuine claim?

>>71371998

I had an idea for the symbol based upon the strix, also in the first thread alot of the interest had to do with the duality of their more restained ultramarines lineage and the more savage blood angels so i made their take on an aquilla where one half is and owl and the other is a bat.
>>
>>71374078
To develop on this even further, it seems that her main strenght is the connections she has.

If she were to "gift" to the Argent Strix chapter a Titan, she would not only gain their favor, but also the one of the Inquisition and the Admech. Simply because they'll be indebted to her and the Inquisition. She could coerce the Argent Strix to work for it for like a century or two. The Inquisition will reward her efforts and the Admechs will like her even more than before for allowing them to work on the Titan. All that when she barely lift a finger, pulled some strings, and took charge of the project!

Now the great risk is the WAAAGH incoming...

>If she ask aide from the Argent Strix, they would be less indebted to her and even less the Inquisition.
>If she ask the Inquisition, someone else may take credit for her project, or get her reward halfed (that is in the best case scenario).
>If she ask the Admech, their influence would grow and she would have less control over them (as she asked only techpriest she could relatively trust).
>Asking more than one faction may cause infighting where she would be the culprit.

While the soldiers are all well equiped and treained, the chance to take down a WAAAGH by themselves is quite slim, if not impossible.

>If she does lose the Titan to the Orks, she would certainly be branded traitor by the Inquisition for secrecy on such project and get both the Inquisition and the Admech's ire for such failure.

I was thinking about how they get paler and more marble-looking as they age and wondered about how to make this work on tabletop. I know we already have an armour colour scheme mapped out but just thought I would put this out anyways to see what yall think: Keep it simple with basic dark grey armour and maybe red trim on shoulderpads, but follow the Ravenguard example of including more and more white based on rank.
Sgt.= white helmet and right knee pad
Lt. = white helmet, facemask, right knee pad and shoulders
Capt.= white knees, arms, shoulders, helmet and mask
veteran company = pale grey instead of dark grey armour, white shoulders

Just a thought. I have been applying similiar to my raven guard with a thin layer of nuln oil over the top of corax white and it makes a really neat aged bone-like appearance. I will post pics when i get off work.

Who leads the gangs and how they're organized. Fully flesh out aspirant trials. And we still haven't even named the Orks or the parasite dogs from last time.
>>
>>71380616
Outside of the last three moons, maybe a PDF, possibly a heretical cult, a couple more Xeno fauna. But that's more on the baseline crunch rather than fluff.
As for fluff, maybe just the names of the current leaders that rule over Vetus Sanguine under us.
>>
>>71379889
White looks better because it pops more.
>>
It also wouldn't hurt to do just a couple more quotes. Especially for the planet and the gangs.

Like one summing them up, like for Stalisi.
"Stalisi are good folk, long as you mind your manners. They've got deep roots and old values, sturdy, reliable folk that pay their debts. Look after their communities. Just whatever you do, in the Emperor's name, never double-cross one or try to cheat them. You walk into one of their casinos and they rig it, which is always, you just leave calmly and don't make a scene. What I'm trying to say is don't disrespect the Familia, or you're liable to sleep with the fishes as they'd put it." - Prosekan Underhiver.

If anyone got the list to roll stats, I'd be up to roll for some of them... if possible could we have an important Space Marine named Vincenzo? I liked the ring of Vincent, but I realised it didn't sound 40K enough (and the latin version works best with our chapter).

>>

Not sure which table specifically you're asking for but here's a name one.

Honestly, though it's fine. Vincenzo sounds good, and though the Imperium at large prefers latin sounding stuff due to gothic. A lot of chapters use other naming conventions and such. White Scars with mongels and asia and such. Space Wolves like their nordic names.

If you're talking about rolling them up like RPG characters, the closest thing to that would be the W40k: Deathwatch RPG books for that which can be easily downloaded.
But if you're referring to a more generalized concept then there's the Space Marine Chapter Creation Tables (which originated in the aforementioned Deathwatch RPG) which you can find on 1d4chan as well. https:// 1d4chan . org/wiki/Space_Marine_Chapter_Creation_Tables

Decided to try my hand at some simple writefaggotry, tell me what you guys think of this short story.

”You sure about this? The chief ain’t gonna be happy if he finds out about this...” Xianor said with a hushed tone as he crawled through the old maintenance shaft somewhere in the lower hive of Prosekan.
“Don’t be such a wimp, if we can snatch just half a liter we could get enough thrones to get a ride on a cargo ship, or even move up to the 134th level, away from the plasma reactors and the manufactorum blocks.” Cercidi said to Xianor as she reached a hatch in the maintenance shaft.
With a hard yank they both managed to open it, and on the other side they could see the gantries and catwalks of the Aqua Importe Prima, the main water reservoir of their strata.
“By the emperor, I’ve never seen so much water in one place before!” Xianor said in awe as he peered our from the hatch.
“Be careful! This place is most likely heavily guarded. The water guilds are very paranoid. It’s lucky they didn’t know of this old maintenance shaft.” Cercidi said with a smirk as she left the hatch and quietly got out into the gantry. Xianor quickly followed and the two of them slowly walked towards one of the water pipes that circulated the water to keep it from amassing bacteria and mold.
“You got the canteens?” Cercidi asked Xianor. He quickly handed her a pair of metal canteens to her. As soon as she grabbed them a loud noise startled them both. A large cargo door had just opened in the far corner of the room.

>1/2
>>
>>71388467
The sound of motorbikes and grav-wagons filled the room, what followed was the floodlights in the water reservoir getting lit.
The two of them could now easily see who had entered the reservoir as they laid low on the gantry.
It was a couple of Dusters along with an augmented hooded figure.
“Dusters? What in the emperor’s bloody glory are they doin here?” Xianor said to himself as he saw them close the door they had just entered. Only for the engines of their vehicles to silence.
“Yer honorin’ our agreement I hope.” Said one of the Dusters as he stepped down from his bike.
“Why would I ever dishonor you Vex. It would only hurt or reputation in the wastes.” The hooded man said with an augmented speech pattern. His metallic speech echoing throughout the reservoir.
“Alright then, where are the barrels your promised us?!” The duster said as he sounded a bit more aggressive.
The hooded man simply pointed to a pallet a few meters away from them, and no sooner then he had lowered his hand the Dusters had started to load them into the grav-wagons. Then no sooner than they had arrived they left, swift and simple.
Whatever nefarious deal the Dusters had with the hooded man wasn’t worth finding out. Xianor and Cercidi quickly opened up a small tap and filled the canteens and disappear into back into the maintenance shaft.

The [REDACTED} are appear to be a native Xeno species of the moon Vetus Sanguin IVc. They are a rock and magma based lifeform with the rock acting as a type of exoskeleton. They are able to eject high quantises of Magma from both their mouths, eyes and hands at incredibly high speeds; this can easily melt most types of Power Armor. There appears to be two types of [REDACTED] and they are differentiated by size which is theorized to indicate age. The smaller type that has been observed is on average around 3m tall, while the bigger type is at least 6m tall with atone being confirmed to be 10m tall. Even the smallest specimen observed possess immense strength that would eclipse the Astarte’s. Based on their nature all melta and las weaponry would be useless, with only specialized bolter rounds thought to be effective against them. All [REDACTED] have been found in and around the many Volcanoes on the surface of the moon, any member of the species that strays too far from their Volcanoes and appears to perish due to the extreme cold, with then exoskeleton solidifying and transforming them into Statues of their last moments.

As a result of this it is currently believed that any and all Helfrost weaponry would prove to be extremely effective against them, however they would almost certainly need to be able to replicate or surpass the normal temperature of the moon, because of this we are currently requesting permission to be able to develop Helfrost weapons on the local world, but this is pending.
>>
As of the year [REDACTED] the [REDACTED} are believed to have created many tunnels deep under the moons crust in order to connect the various Volcanos, with each one potentially being city-states. As of now this is all unknown but we have requested in conjunction with the order for Helfrost Weaponry to perform a expedition into one of the smaller Volcanoes and infiltrate the tunnel network, alternatively a sufficiently large fissure should connect to this network, however we have lost all contact with the probes that we have sent through the fissures.

Based on earlier fragmentary records before the cataclysm, these Xenos were worshiped by the local feral population of the moon as deities. Very little of these survive but we have found records suggesting that the disintegrated remains of the Xenos were inhaled by the members of the religious elite, they would then over the course of years slowly turn into stone similar to the exoskeleton of the Xenos. At the end of this transformation, the priests would have their Psychic ability increased tenfold and some of the strongest were able to correctly see future events.

>7 Worker's Collective: Open organizations of laborers rarely survive for long in the Imperium, as the Adeptus Administratum does not tolerate any potential threat to production for its tithes. As such, fledgling labour groups are forced to rely on more secretive methods to survive. As they scheme and maneuver for their cause in the shadows where they dwell, they become as much a threat to the structures of the Imperium as any malefic coven.

>12 Hereditary Laborers: Noble lines can have the pedigree of millennia, and so can the families which serve them. What the noble may or may not be aware of is that treachery can simmer in a servile soul.

Quite unfortunate! Those low-borns are contempt of their lives as great workers in our hive cities! Quite a bunch of lazy people are they not? Even worse, it seems they have appealed to some of our greatest citizens! Truly exploitating their kind hearts! This a struggle I know, as I used to be highborn myself before ascending into the exceptional Ordo Hereticus!

While at first it was simple fun and avoiding their duties as working citizens, their situation has escalated further than even themselves anticipated! It seems some of them acquired a taste for hunting those beasts outside in the wastelands! If it were not for every citizens wielding weapons as well as the intense systematic hunt of the beasts, their reproductive parasitic nature might have destroyed the whole hive in under a year! I'm not even talking about the countless loss of lives in the underhive! The gangs residing there might have a say in this... I should investigate further...

What's urgent right now is to find who leads this group!

What kind of leadership? (1d100)
What kind of person/people lead(s) this organisation? (1d20)
What kind of methods is employed to order those people around? (1d10)

>17 Daemon: (same as above, but include 'Xenos' as a possible mundane guise) The cult is led by a daemonic entity, usually tied to one of the chaos gods.

It is a dire day for the citizens of Vetus Sanguine, no the whole Imperium of Man! Worse than finding the taint of Chaos, I recognise the fine handywork of a Daemon! Sure my last suspects when I was making such accusations were no deamons, but rest assured that I am still certain to this day that they were working for one, even if unknowingly! A shame our grand angels of the Emperor on their beautiful tower, couldn't find such treachery with thei ever vigilant gaze! Truly they are blessed that I am assigned to this world!

Dear diary... wait, no... what I really meant is Inquisitorial Journal! Today I heard a voice in my head that I apparantly locked down deep inside me. It just informed me I have been possessed for around 2 months since I first begin my investigation... it also said to not be alarmed, which I generously congratulate myself for being such a nice person, but I have no need to be alarmed, me! I am after all, one of the Inquisition's finest!

>3 Dark Camaraderie: However vile their heresy, the cult masters have earned their flock's respect. Even more shocking, this respect appears mutual. Commands are given more like requests to brothers-in-arms, punishments are mostly nonlethal, and losses are mourned genuinely.

This is quite a puzzle I am facing... at first I had thought that it could have been a cult of Khorne, that vile god of brawling and bodily fluids! My guess was that the hunting was part of their challenges to prove themselves, but I haven't heard of a forgiving and caring daemon... even less one of Khorne!

Perhaps I should report to the Inquisition or the Astartes immediately? No... what if they fight those people unprepared! Everyone knows information is the key to all battles! I won't quit before I find out what kind of weapons and armors they are packing!

This is almost as bad as an actual daemon leading the cult! While not only corrupting the kind highbornsm, those miscreants even had them fine men and woman give up some of their prestigious equipment! I dread to think that perhaps the armor I so diligently took care of long ago may be used by some low-life daemon loving scum! Being parasites not contributing to society wasn't enough for them! They now steal from some of the only worthy people on this planet!

One might think they are secretive, but as the top class inquisitor that I am I can discern their secrets! it will not be long before I will find out every member's identity!

It is a dark day for the Imperium. Today I found out that it is likely that every member of the Highborns Personal Guards has probably joined the cult, or at the very least provided all of the equipment. I suspect at least one Highborn family associated at least. All in all, the sum of those information logically implies that my old armor is in the hands of an heretic. While before it was for business and gratification, it is now personnal!

This is how it all started! Those useless bums only wanted to slack off their work. At first they united and hided at some corner of the underhive, but when they gain too many members they pleaded to a noble house! Those repulsive sloths managed to appeal to that family's kind heart and they gain not only their support, but also a few headquarters! It's a miracle this planet didn't fall below the mandatory imperial tithe!

>>71393929
>17 Salvation of the Soul: Sin and damnation are together a major concern for all Imperial citizens, especially where conditions are harsh (or conversely, when one is in a good position but knows too much). This cult offers a balm for the soul and peace of mind in the ideal of a better spiritual life. Once the convert has progressed far enough in the cult's doctrine and/or mysteries, they might yet believe it even as their corruption festers.

Then somewhere along the line a daemon made its presence known. Perhaps they felt regret for not contributing? Or guilt when other workers are working half to death to compensate them? Maybe they were seeking peace of mind perhaps when their hunting games made some innocent casualties? Whatever it is, that daemon's promise of an happy afterlife is but a lie to stray them from the Emperor's light! Even if it is too late for them, I shall redempt their souls through fire and steel! Only this way may I again adorn my old armor after an heretic took it!

While spying on them, I have found something quite disturbing as of late... I have stumbled upon their latest ceremony!

Sitting on a golden chair was a marble statue, it was so expertly made it almost looked like it was alive... just after realising that the revelation hit me. It is no statue! It is a member of the Argent Strix! Ancient and barely alive, connected by multiple life-supporting cables, so akin of our God Emperor back on Terra! Thanks for rolling up the second moon as I'd requested; I like it, but think that you should not have arbitrarily reduced circumference by a third, because frozen terra-sized car factory and water ice mine can be fuckhueg like it's planet.

Does Vetus Sanguine throw off a lot of heat? Is there maybe an open fissure in the planet's crust, an open wound bleeding blood red light & heat, an ocean of magma, a sea of lava? There are no hives near it... just a single, extra-armored fortress hive surrounding a massive planetary defense battery on an island in the middle of the continent-sized lava lake, covering that one otherwise blind spot....

The atmosphere and closest moon(s) are warmed, but the Antarctic car factory planet of stairs and two of the other three moons (total of 5 moons) are largely outside & beyond the gigantic planet's warming glow.

... this makes my earlier "planet is a cage around a red dwarf" idea work, but, no: this is a regular but huge terrestrial planet.

...icy car factory moon definitely shoots shipments of cars and water inside enormous ice splinters shot at the planet -- send payment & coordinates for delivery -- and they require recovery (and sometimes miss, drifting off target into bandit-filled wstelands).

This place is really something!

Dear, Lord Inquisitor.

It is I, your once student, Inquisitor Ackorian, writing to you hoping that my message finds itself to you quickly. Should the damnable warp be... pliant to whatever ship I send to you this message on. It has come to my attention that my foolish colleague, Inquisitor... Casanova, has recently written to you about a minor cult stirring in the system. However, I believe that in his urgency he forgot to mention this Wild Hunt of his is currently present mostly on the mining moon, Vetus Sanguine IVa.

Through the use of this more primitive world and their lack of overseeing forces where they've consolidated their power. Attempts to spread to Vetus Sanguine via mineral shipments have been less than successful, given the relatively high quality of life Vetus possesses for a Hive World and the strange nature of the cult. To my amusement, it seems as if even the Underhive itself is resistant to their efforts. They find no allies in the pious, and well-armed, population of the Hive, nor do any of the notable houses and gangs appreciate their efforts. Indeed the lastest effort of theirs seems to have resulted in a shootout between them and Stalisi with the Duster Caravans aiding them.

This, admittedly disturbing, parody of the Golden Thorne and aiding nobility have also apparently vanished. With the forces of the Arbites, and a very riled up squad of Argent Strix, we stormed both to fine them missing. This Pretender's Throne missing from the warehouse was to be stored in. All members of the house Takillian missing from their familial estate and nowhere to be found. It is our belief that they too have fled back to the moon after realizing they were compromised.

Admittedly the population of native Heribrovores they seem to have brought into the lower reaches of the hive are an annoyance. However, I still believe our prime concern to be the quarantined moon, Vetus Sanguine IVc. The recent appearance of feral Orkz is a minor concern. (see other side)

I still believe our prime concern and danger to be related to the mass disappearance of Psykers from the planet, along with a sizable portion of the population, five hundred years ago. I am aware my fellow Inquisitor, Kael, believes this to be related to the Planet's Ignis cults. But I am glad to inform you that my investigations seem ever closer to revealing the truth that this is indeed related to the Oceanic cults, particularly of note more evidence recently points towards the so-called "Brotherhood of the Maelstorm". Truly I do not see why you entertain Kael with her tales of fire-based entities. Her graphs and studies of the planet's "unusal" geothermal activity are interesting but baseless. Meanwhile, there is proof, and much more written history, pertaining to SOMETHING living in the oceans of the world. If the written and archaeological history of the moons settlers are to be believed.

Though I believe I have spent enough of both our times, I must return to my studies. I can only hope I have dissuaded you away from the foolish doomsaying of Casanova.

Sincerely, Inquisitor Ackorian, of the Ordo Hereticus.

As much as I'd like to keep the other three moons uninteresting airless targets for planetary defense missiles and canons and missiles and plasmabeams and missiles and lasers and more cannons and more missiles and MORE MISSILES....

All three are relatively small (or "both two" if we flesh one out), airless, and tidally locked to the planet; their "dark sides" (the part always facing away from Vetus Sanguine and therefore unseeable from the planet's surface) each house a massive fortress hive bristling with weapons & sensors, and each serves as a spaceport.

They are called "Target #1, #2 & #3."

Anyway, back to the other thing....

Did this for fun. It's a letter from a battleship captain asking why he's not allowed to press gang people from the hive world. Low to middling. Can't patch you up or trick you out like a forge-world. Can't press gang much for refilling your crew.

Already strongly defended planet and city with an Astartes chapter and presumably their own Astartes fleet, on top of the planet's own navy. Any such patrol would probably be a 'well guess its in the patrol plans'. More for refueling, ordanance resupplies, and maybe a couple rogue traders seeker rarer weapons without having to deal with a major mechanicus presence.

There's a wide ranging cult of laborers and domestic servants who's main joys are making really good guns, signing said guns, and successfuly using said guns to rid the planet's wastelands of man eating monstrosities.

This cult recruits its members from among those who don't like the wastes surrounding their hives to be filled with man eating monstrosities and are afraid they aren't serving the emperor faithfully enough.

The leadership of said cult seeks to act in its member's best interests and believes they are revering the Emperor by purging the planet's xenos in fire.

A demon is secretly pulling the strings of said cult and twisting their rituals to kill the emperor

Firstly, I think we may have gotten the least heretical cultists of all time. Secondly I recommend that someone tell the cultists they've been deceived and recruit any survivors from their inevitable efforts to murder the demon in question.

I believe we should assign it to one of the Honor Guard of the chapter, who haven't really been fleshed out either. It makes sense. This armor is powerful and protective, but also a beast in melee. So the best for being wielded by someone protecting our chapter master.(who we still need to give a title to for the combined positions.)
>>

>>71390373
In the other thread anons proposed they were accepted to a small degree, but frowning upon them for "replacing" them. So I can see them being few and relegated to lower positions in the chain of comand, letting the proper white blooded members of the chapter keep the higher positions. Maybe some primaris could be relegated to act as rulers of some parts of the hive city, like the White Counts, but as punishment instead of reward. Either that, or some of their friends in the Inquisition may want to sway them into ignoring what papa smurf says and convince them to keep doing what they have always done, meaning, them being friends of the Eclisiarchy and the Inquisition, because they are constantly at odds with the new rulling of Guilliman and need allies to retain their power, so I could see some Inquisitor friend of the chapter trying to flush the primaris out to keep the status quo
>>
>>71402846
How they dealt with the Primaris. Like someone said earlier. They see their curse/mutations as shameful to a degree. And the Primaris are free of this, but at the same time (well Primaris still have the Red thrist and BR but its likely our first batch would match the records which is Ultra, unless Cawl knows) it's become deeply ingrained in their culture.

I can see the chapter perhaps clearing one of the companies or doing some reorganizing once realizing Grampa smurf ain't down with total compliance to the codex. Possibly putting the Primaris in a company and calling them something like "the purified" or "cleansed".

I also imagine this relic daemon battlehorn would have some frenzying effect.

As for the armor, as mentioned Honor Guard seems a good fit.

If we did I honestly can't remember that part, or the Primaris being really brought up at length before. The Argent seem like they'd do whatever papa smurf would want, thanks to their daddy issues of believing themselves to be filthy cursed mutants and their rage being part drive, part penitence.

Let me know what you all think.

>Armor of Lex Talionis

A pristine set of Mk.IV Maximus Power Armor believed to date back as far as the Great Crusade, alone enough to make it a prized relic of the chapter. However, it's its story that helped to endear it to the chapter. As the Strix are so fond of, this power armor was once worn by a brave marine who faced many daunting enemies after his comrades were slain. Only for him to perish a short while later. His body was interred, his gene-seed collected to sire new sons of the chapter, and armor removed.

Those who took his armor repaired it into a work of death and unyielding destruction. It's plating and systems reinforced tenfold, weaknesses purged. Never again would a brother be lost, he would wield armor unbreaking. To top it off it seemed part of his will lives on through the machine spirit of the armor. The spirit seems driven with a baleful vengeance against the enemies of man. Those who've worn the armor in the past claim that the spirit guides their blows, picking out the weaknesses in enemy armor and optimizing their movements for quick and righteous strikes.

It's usually been a split between "obey dad" and "hang onto book for sanity's sake" since they probably see the Codex Astartes as one of the things holding them back from becoming monsters upon the imperium of man.
>>
>>71403308
>The Argent seem like they'd do whatever papa smurf would want
Seeing as how religious they are, and how well they get with the ecclesiarchy I could see them being conflicted between what their father wants, what they may want and what they think the emperor may want, since their rituals are to them what secrets are to the dark angels. Maybe its just me, but i doubt they could make a good transition from what they became to what daddy asks them to be
>>
>>71403340
The Armor of the Endurant and the Armor of the Unbreaking
I could see the right hand man and the champion of the chapter master wearing these suits of armor, and maybe acting as his enforcers as they assist other squads in his name when they have some particular job that needs to be done
>>
>>71403436
Fair points, I can also see Guilliman trying to bring back the Imperial Truth being a conflict within them. Ironic one of his Chapters of Sons would become one of the few Astartes to see the Emperor as a god.
>>
>>71403513
I used Lex Talionis as the principle.

>noun: lex talionis
the law of retaliation, whereby a punishment resembles the offense committed in kind and degree.
"the lex talionis of feud violence and blood money"

But I also like Unbreaking.
>>
>>71403538

Quite the conundrum we got here. For in-lore reasons alone.

Reasons for Primaris.
-Do as daddy wants thinks to progenitor issues.
-More strength to rip and tear.
-More marines to murder-fuck Chaos.
-A way to save dying brothers through the Rubicon.
-Fresh forces with pure gene-seed resistance to chaos.
-The Emperors Custodes say you should take them.
-It's a gift from your father and apparently has the green light from Big E.

Reasons against.
-Bringing in outsiders at least for the awakened from the vaults.
-Pops is sprouting a lot of heresy bout this stuff.
-Fear of culture loss.
-The thought that you'll be forgotten/replaced.
-Your pals are saying its heresy to tamper with the Emperor's work.
-For at least the first-gen they should be cured of your deeply ingrained hunger.

Strix are confused about what to do with the primaris so they ask their friends and half brothers from the angel side to know how they are dealing with them, some of them tell them they are a cool bunch once you get to know them and that they should give them a chance, the other bunch are telling them they are an abomination and an insult to what they are and what they have endured and should be culled on the battlefield first time they get
>>
Do we have so few relics because we rolled low? Perhaps we should be gifted new ones no?

On a more serious note, should we expand more lore on named characters right now or roll other things? (Otherwise I think I'll go to sleep)
>>
>>71403764
We still really need to fluff out that horn.

Here's what we seemed to be agreed upon so far.
-The horn of Illdactus that Fuhor shattered was recovered from the field.
-It was prized as a relic and turned into a war horn at some point.
-They now use it presumably before charging into battle.
-It may or may not induce rage.

>>
>>71403764
>should we expand more lore on named characters
we could expand on Kaltos or Vicenzo since we already named them, maybe come up with some campain in which they worked together, we could try to expand on our librarius since we barely talked about it at all. Maybe name some other capitan, or come up with some of the guys currently working with the ecclesiarchy, I just love the idea of an old pure white blooded marbled astartees walking around in a toga and preaching the word of the lord alongside some sickly old priests, maybe he could be the master of santity or some other chaplain

>Ultramarines with Blood Angel Implants
>Drink demon blood and do blood and wine rituals to curse their curse so that they arent cursed anymore
>friends with the church so they could eat a demon in front of them and they would still call them as pure as a saint
>Live in a giant hollow world used to stockpile missiles, and where every man, woman and child has at least one gun
>the world has no water and its a wasteland outside the city
>the city has four (4) major gangs, the House Cheshire(clowns), the familia Stalisi(mafia), the Seamstresses Guild (Psychotic women and Housewives with conections) and the Duster Caravans(cowboy taxi drivers and space truckers)
>one of the moons has an ork infestation and the remains of a Warlord Titan an Inquisitor is trying to recover
>one of the moons had its population disapear and has been [REDACTED] and quarantined despite having tons of water the planet needs
am i missing something?

I quite liked the idea the Orkz crashed on moon three slowly turning into feral orkz, with some knights vs orkz going on and some actual Imperial knights in small numbers to counter the actual dakka orkz.
>>
>>71404766
Not that anon but i'm personally not a huge fan of the whole local human knights vs orks deal on the Dead/Quarantined Moon, it just doesn't sit right with the concept because it dulls the mystery of what the fuck happened to the original inhabitants since the only thing truly wrong with the moon that we know of is the temperature and day/night cycle. I can deal with the mech knights since it gives the impression that they were brought over from another world entirely.
This is of course my opinion, nothing more or less than that.
>>
>>71404981
To clarify I'm not saying the Orks are responsible for what happened to the people. There are still humans and people living there but they're extremely small strongholds with no clue what happened to the people. An entire population having no clue about a mass planet-wide disappearance being one of the causes of quarantine/caution.
>>
>>71405017
Also, just my own suggestion, feel free to disagree with it.
>>
>>71405017
>>71405048
Okay so what you're talking about is more akin to a Post-Apocalyptic rather than standard warcraft from what I am deciphering. This I can work with more, especially if they have been huddling in their strongholds for generations like in Arx Fatalis.
>>
One issue I have with the moons being filled with enemies, etc for presumably a long time, is there they are orbiting a chapter homeworld and a hive world to boot. It just doesn’t make sense to me as to why the moons haven’t been cleansed and free of enemies after being thousands of years around the planet. Just my two cents.
>>
File: 1aa1.jpg (283 KB, 1600x782)

>>71405062
Yeah, less warcraft. More dark/eldritch fantasy with a mass disappearance of psykers and other people 500 years ago. The survivors who found everyone else missing huddling together in small kingdoms barely holding on and fortress strongholds. Orks landing maybe 50-80 years ago looking for their titan. Not many meks or shootas anymore as they devolve into the feral pre-industrial orkz. Warlord Titan was brought in against whatever caused the disappearance
a group of Imperial Knights was brought in to protect the titan and inquisitor. But over time they've strayed to protecting the people from the growing Ork hordes. Things getting stranger and more 'active' with the great rift stirring whatever's on the planet a tad.

>>71405081
If the orkz arrived on the rock they'd be a recent development on a moon that is, by all means, considered lost already. If the orkz are on moon three there's no enemy on moon 2. Wild Hunt is also a recent development, and presumably being dealt with by Casanova, arbites forces, and some of the Strix.

Talionus Luthor, the Chapter's noble Master of Santicity, a who holds a prized and coveted role among the most pious and a respected title among the least. He is if the chapter to be believed the oldest living current marine, though the eventual turn of ancient brothers to statues cast some doubt on this. His true age is lost to the annals of time, even he cannot recall. All that's known for certain is that he's over one thousand and five hundred years old, at least. Like all his brothers who've served for over a Millenium the mutation that slowly turns his body to a stony prison has actually come to affect him. It has gotten to the point that his movements have begun to slow as the surface of his skin turns to marble, he has even had to sacrifice his right hand for a bionic replacement to be able to wield his Crozius reliably anymore.

In part to his advancing condition, he is typically relegated to guarding the home of the Argent Strix when they go to war and steered away from the battlefield. As much as it irks him he'd be lying if he said he didn't have anything to do, between his mentoring new chaplains, regaling the Chapter's history, and shedding his armor to walk among the people like a living statue. Gracing them with the presence of an angel of the Emperor, while he lectures them in the ways of he who stands above all others.

Though steering one away from the battle to die a glorious death, crushing as many enemies as possible in a final charge, is not normally how the Argent Strix operates. Much of the Chapter would be lost without this mentor figure who seems to have stood since time immemorial.

But when he has no choice but to take to the field, there is one thing that's certain. He's still got it.

Let me know what you think. I intentionally got a bit more humorous with the last bit cause I feel like we need ore of that, but the rest is serious.
>>
"I teach all my kin the value of a righteous mind and stalwart heart, fueled by vengeance, overseen by the Emperor's wrath. But let it also be known that a good windup on your swing never hurts." - Talionis Luthor, on how to fight the enemies of man.
>>
>>71405636
I appreciate the effort you went through to write this, on the other hand I'm pretty much fucked out of writing the oldest space marine in the chapter that's a dreadnought. Still there's always more astartes in the chapter I could tackle. Including ones who may be in the Deathwatch.
On a entirely different note, I noticed a strong comparison to the Eldar Farseers with your idea that the Strix actually harden into actual statues over the centuries. Was that on purpose or was that just a way of flavoring out the chapter by accident?
>>
>>71406663
>I noticed a strong comparison to the Eldar Farseers
I dont really see the similarities you are throwing out. Eldar put their elder in robots, Strix's skin becomes as pale as marble like the vampires they are and t heir blood becomes white meaning they drink red blood trying to regain what their blood has lost
I just dont see eldar here at all
>>
>>71405636
>the eventual turn of ancient brothers to statues
>the mutation that slowly turns his body to a stony prison
What did I miss, when was this stablished? I thought they looked like marble statues due to their white blood not that their skin literaly became stone
>>
>>71407877
When Eldar Farseers get bugfuck old, their minds start becoming one with their craftworld in such a way that their bodies basically become braindead, and as such when they start doing that they retreat into a Dome of Crystal Seers where their bodies start crystallizing, and when that process is complete they become one with their craftworld permanently, leaving only a body that's made of crystal. That's the comparison I'm making.
>>
>>71407940
Well, I now am seeing two versions of the Strix mutation
>one is white blood making them pale and look like walking satues
>the other is their skin becomes marble and they literaly become statues
One does have a resemblence with what you are saying, the other does not. Not really sure where the second one came from though
>>
>>71407961
Your guess is as good as mine since this whole turning into literal statues thing just seems a bit odd and somewhat confusing. Especially since the idea was originally brought up as more of a visual concept like the Salamanders being ultra-umbra-blacker-than-black.
>>
>>71407877
I thought it was agreed their blood turned black, due to continual exposure to daemon blood from Illidactum’s heart over a lifetime of service to the Chapter. Partaking in not only initiation (where a large amount of blood is ingested to test an initiates resistance to corruption) and continual pre-battle rituals of daemonic blood drinking must have at least some physical effects upon a battlebrother. Ie. black blood (creating exposed black veins) and pale flesh from exposure to daemon blood/warp stuff in it.
>>
>>71408653
Never in any of the three threads has anyone ever said anything about black blood, it has always been white
>>
>>71408653
Their VEINS turned black akin to how actual marble looks, now as for actual blood color that has usually been considered either standard Red and/or White.

>>
>>71408781
There's nothing to be excused, if anything because we didn't get the extreme dirty details of how the daemon blood worked for the Strix (outside of simply reactivating the Red Thirst for them) down before the writefaggotry began, can end up making some things potentially conflicting. And yeah I can understand what you mean by very dark red.

Personally when I helped writing about the second moon I though the Titan was on it. When I helped with the [REDACTED] one I was originally under the impression that the moon was just a cold ocean surface with volcanos (haven't slept much that night)... which means that retrieving it might be quite a task in itself...

I don't mind either, but I think the conflict might be easier to write on the inhabited one (though a viking-pirate vs navy war over a titan do sound badass).

>>71411148
I do not know how much this amount to, but something that I think we do not see often is a leader that prioritize lives over anything else. Not as a weakness, but as a strenght. I would like a leader that values the lives of his battle-brothers so much, that he is willing to put the impossible extra effort just so everyone can live another day. If possible, it also includes people from other military groups.

To summarize I would like him to be known as a leader who has the least casualties in all his missions, and/or the most missions accomplished with zero loss.

Kinda idiot no? Not sure if it fits with all the grim without making it Mary Sue-ish...

What I had in mind when I wrote as Casanova was more like they recovered a nearly dead Argent Strix and he's forced to live through pain every moment like Big E... he can't do anything and he's fully aware that the daemon is corrupting the cult to turn him into ""something"" . Casanova just thought at first it was a statue representing the Emperor until he saw the statue breathing.

Sorry for the misunderstanding! Also what do you guys think of >>71411579 ?
>>
>>71413603
Well, I find the statue one an interesting take cause it adds a little more reason for them to be so ashamed of their condition, literally being on a ticking clock. But I'm sure OP can edit out the turning to marble thing if people don't like it.

Though I'm curious what exactly could disable a Strix like that and get him away from his brothers, without him being able to act but still not going into suspended animation from the Sus-an. Since Space Marines are the type to joke about losing limbs.
>>
>>71413643
Not sure really... maybe an Astarte strolling around the hive without most of his gear got ambushed? Or perhaps he was investigating one of the moons and got into this poor condition? Perhaps it was the work of the daemon, luring an Argent Strix away and nearly killing him? The cult could have recovered him not long after and the daemon is now using all of them for his latest plan?
>>
>>71413721
I could see the daemon, but not really the equipmentless ambush since he should still be able to take them.

The elderly marine who's condition is advancing goes for a stroll through the underhive. Daemon does something to immobilize him. Cult finds him, a mix of the Daemons magic, his advancing condition, and pain from the machines they've strapped to him keeps him immobile.
>>
So marblization. Yes or no?

I need to know to take this out and edit some stuff for Luthor.
>>
>>71413782
I like the idea of the demon trying to posses his body, having both of them fighting inside the marine's mind, and the cult is just putting the body in life support by orders of the demon, thinking they are helping the astartes but in reality they are weakening him so that his demonic blood can corrupt him
>>
>>71413827
I say no, the dreadnought are supposed to be the gargoyle part of the chapter, not the actual marines

There. Now it's

His true age is lost to the annals of time, even he cannot recall. All that's known for certain is that he's over one thousand and five hundred years old, at least. With this advancing age, he's become perhaps a relic of the chapter in his own way, a living reliquary of the chapter's history. He's spent less time on the battlefield after losing his hand to an Ork Warboss several centuries ago.

Perhaps in part to his advancing age, most of his body looking like a due to his pale skin and black veins, or merely the Chapter's attachment to someone who has taught many of them. They tend to place him away from the battle, leaving him to guard their home while out on campaigns. As much as it irks him he'd be lying if he said he didn't have anything to do, between his mentoring new chaplains, regaling the Chapter's history, and shedding his armor to walk among the people like a living statue.
