I have no creative energy at the moment, so forgive the low effort post. The best I can give right now is a pitch tl;dr, Nomadic seafarers that share similarities with the Mass Effect Quarians.

>The idea sort of being that they travel in small fleets, and the coming of age is similar to an Amish rumspringa where the youngest may experience land life and choose to stay 'grounded' or continue life on the sea.
>Their navigators and magically attuned folk are particular sought after for other navies
>They originally had land settlements, but found that their presence often conjures strange, antagonistic beings out of the earth. Some believe it is a curse, others believe it to be innate magical power attracting demons and the like. Because of this, the sea seemed like a logical step for survival. They'd have pockets of coastal or island settlements (coves, hidden caves, cays, etc) but for the most part have no real nation/state - so no need to worry about the map sorta deal.

Forgive the low quality, I'm very tired.

>The Coastal Campaigns of the Ercaenmedian Front
Field Marshals Irons and Functs were tasked with taking the western and eastern coasts of Ercaenmedia respectively with Marshal Alexandrios of the Soukon Contingent to make landfall on the western coast as well. The strategy behind the campaign would be to capture Ercaenmedia's port cities to deprive it from foreign and colonial aid as well as enabling Belkan and Soukon forces to be resupplied by sea. Where the Center front would be concentrated on taking as much territory as possible on the way to the capital as well as defeating the main body of the Allied Armies the Coastal Campaigns would be much more restrained and focused, each pincer would only have around nine Corps worth of troops to use and certain cities designated as primary objectives.

On the Western coast the first objective was the port city of Melvin which was taken by storm three days after it's initial besiegement. With the city taken the Soukon Contingent was able to join forces with his own while still leaving a significant marine force embarked aboard their ships. Fifty miles down the coast was the next objective, Duangjon, a much larger and well defended port city and home to several Ercaenmedian dreadships. The Field Marshal raided down the coast burning through minor towns and villages on his way to city reaching it a week later. Knowing that the port could be used to base raiders who could assault his supply lines from the sea he appointed three Corps to make siege to the city and begin bombarding it, a squadron of Cruisers and Frigates of the Belkan Navy would remain offshore and out of range of the city's guns to keep any new supplies from reaching the city. While the city was under siege he ordered the rest of his forces under Marshal Alexandrios to march south and take the cities of Tavenna and Wutland, with the Soukon naval forces raiding up and down the coastline and causing great confusion among the defenders. After three weeks of

Shown here is Aironarta (meaning oceanic fort in the tongue of the Nicsenoreans and Sartyrians), a relatively recent keep constructed twenty years ago solely for serving as a port meant to serve as a hub to trade with foreigners. It is the only keep foreigners not from Krraurah or a known ally of Nicsenor are welcome in and was initially terraformed in the same manner as how the keep described a few posts ago was. Visitors are welcome to trade and share stories of their homeland here in return for purchasing some local wares like precious ivory, cut jewels, metals, clothes and in some rare cases mithril when the merchant is feeling particular nice. The noble overseeing this keep is known as being particularly eccentric and hungers for knowledge of greater world commonly heading down into the foreigners district to try and find historical texts. Much to the annoyance of his bodyguards as he always leaves without notifying anyone.

A Sartyrian braziership. The Sartyrian fleet is known for reinforced iron vessels usually towering over whatever lesser races bring to the battlefield that are powered by a fragment of the World Flame and crewed by fire elementals. As such most of their ships aren’t extremely maneuverable but can fire in several directions with bursts of flame and ash to smother an enemy crew. However there still are some specialist ships using older designs such as the braziership, a slender vessel outstripping even a Soukan neo-trireme in sheer length meant to carry their flaming warbeasts into battle that are supported by an eponymous brazier located inside the boat containing a secondary World Flame shard next to the main one. This is their lifeline and grants them the terrible power they are known for, however should it be destroyed and the flame doused all fire elementals conjured using it will fade out of existence. A fate only avoidable if a particularly strong fiery creature has been marked with some extra enchantments serving to keep it alive as a secondary power source for about a days time. Long enough for it to be reconnected to a different power source. It is shown here sailing forth as a fiery drake belonging to the Sartyrians faces off against a Nicsenorean frost wyvern. Both are releasing breath attacks at another target, a strange trait for a wyvern and drake to have being what amounts to a savage and smaller cousins of dragons.

I tried to expand on the Sartyrian navy a bit with some ideas I had about it. If the Sartyrian anon is here feel free to ignore what I wrote if you have a different idea. Just wanted to flesh the navy out a slight bit.

As I seem to be posting a lot about Nicsenorean ships now for some reason here's another one. The graceful swan-ship serves as the most commonly used civilian craft throughout the Nicsenor Collective. When travelling by the canals of a keep you can see many of these boats, made from magically grown white woods drifting through the water with otherwordly grace reminiscent of the animal they are named for. These slender boats are also used to go on smaller scale fishing expeditions and serve as boarding vessels released from larger ships. In the last two cases they are outfitted with a small mounted repeater ballista still capable of firing the same deadly hull-piercing ammo fired by these devices regardless of size. It is also extremely common to see these vessels be heavily customized by whoever owns them with things like flowers being draped atop it or their families crest.

And one step directly above this is a Nicsenorean merchant vessel. There is no clear name for this craft due to most eleven merchant ships looking quite different from each other. However one thing is common between these ships and the other vessels of the Nicsenorean fleet, they possess an unnatural speed due to a mysterious and unknown technique used to produce their sails allowing them to sail circles around the works of mortal races and use this to their advantage to outrun and shoot up whatever is deserving of it taking minimal damage in return. Merchant ships however are not meant for direct combat and as such spend most of their space to carry a wealth of trade goods, typically just sailing away from instead of directly confronting pirates if such a situation arises. As such they merely have one repeating ballista on each side. These vessels serve as the main means of which the elves bring in foreign foods and goods alongside seeing far off lands which they eagerly speak of when returning home. While they may not be the best fighter individually, these ships are put in use to quickly scout out the terrain and strategic locations of a region.

I might write more about these repeating ballista at a later point but they're literally just Eagle Claw Bolt Throwers from Warhammer Fantasy with a few minor differences so I'm not going to. In other words just expensive to manufacture but extremely versatile weapons capable of shooting a large hole right through a tank in a shot with magically enhanced projectiles.

>Sea elves are one of the most widespread yet unknown races of elves, in fact it's debatable if they're elves at all given how dissimilar they look to most other elves alongside not being immortal like a few elf tribes are though many elf tribes aren't immortal either so that doesn't matter much
>They live deep underwater in tribes and it's said that they have the largest population out of all elves though this is still very much unclear
>Usually when you're near or sailing over water there's a tribe somewhere around your area yet there aren't very much sea elves concentrated in a specific location, merely just small amounts scattered throughout the world
>Their tech level is fairly primitive with spears and grappling hooks being used alongside underwater monsters like octopi and sharks being ridden and inherent hydromancies they use
>They spend most of their days raiding unfortunate ships passing by from below and producing a mist to disorientate the people abovedeck
>They commonly assault other underwater nations and races and pillage whatever shiny things they can find
>They rarely venture above the water when not raiding but sometimes sail out for whatever purpose they see fit
>Lastly, they have good relations with the sirens (or mermaids/men as most Autians call them) which are another underwater race

A transoceanic tunnel? Now that's an interesting sounding concept, however wouldn't it be discovered by Drow as they're probably one of the more widespread underground civilizations? The procession of a maharajah, a Miqdaadite term for prince in the great terraformed cities made centuries ago (specifically in the cities as a noble from the nomad tribes is known as an emir and a tribe leader a sheikh) back from pilgrimage. Currently he is passing by a magnificent mosque to their god while seated on a resplendent mammoth atop a howdah as a master of beasts steers the creature. Many more such animals and guards follow behind with their weapons shining in the heat alongside several machines meant for emergencies like a possible assassination attempt. These are requisitioned artillery pieces from the greater army and consist of large metallic tubes firing massive cloth covered rockets capable of blowing a shock cavalry regiment to smithereens when fired (this did exist in Mughal times, don't go complaining about inaccuracy from the source). A mage not shown in the picture is riding atop a flying carpet in the back and making wind to blow upon the party to keep them cool as the people watch in awe.

I figure the traditional dnd fantasy dwarves in the Falconhead/Gabaet region were isekai'd into the region and never had a major nation, but probably had some smaller kingdoms that were absorbed into the Nantic Empire. Duergar also exist in the area, probably also isekai'd.

Tismo dwarves were made by gnomes, but so far seem to operate like WoW dwarves.

Brazilistan dwarves are a bit of a mystery. They seem to have ties to Soukos somehow, and were essentially enslaved by the Eldrian Empire, but we don't really know where they came from.

>>78147759
Duergar and Mine Flayers also live underground, probably certain types of fey like Bulbmin and some goblins as well. So far underground races haven't been particularly plot relevant, so they are probably few in number.

Also I've been thinking of establishing a difference between the nomads and the more civilized city dwellers as the Sultanate has elements from both Arabia and India (mostly during the Mughal Empire but I can work other time periods in) in it. The people in the cities are far more reminiscent of Mughal civilization on a far bigger scale as these cities are huge alongside magical towers with telescopes and magitech strewn about with djinns and other such ethereal creations flying through the air. Meanwhile the nomads are essentially a pastiche of Middle Eastern tropes being travelling nomads as giant beasts they've tamed such as scorpions with stingers the size of a man and drakes with skin resembling sandstone walk around.

To answer your question, I believe the dwarves were already living there when some colonists from Soukos set up holdings outside of their holds. This led to both sides trading and gaining traits from each others civilizations before the Soukans left because of their civil war and the Eldrian and Nantic empires spread throughout the lands they used to own.

There are known conflicts between Sartyrian and Nicsenor, Tortle Reams and Puppet Clans, Alkor and hostile Fantel tribes, and Miqdaad and Second Empire. Puppet Clans raid pretty much anyone, and Fantal tribes, Crescent Amazons, and Afrolia sometimes raid each other.

Pengu, Issbjarn, and maybe IBRU are allied to Nicsenor.

An example of those rockets I mentioned earlier being used by the Sultanate on some exceedingly stupid Alkorian soldiers who thought it would be a great idea to try and bully the Miqdaadites into letting them enter the harbor without paying. This eventually turned into a full scale conflict with the force sending out a group of scouts and soldiers to prove the strength of their nation. Thankfully the Miqdaadites chose not to use their Heavenly Eyes as that would be a diplomatic disaster between the nations over the violent death of many more of the Alkorian troops, even more so than this situation has already become.

A beautiful Nicsenorean castle, covered in turrets and spires and seeming to touch the very skies. This is in fact merely a clever illusion as the castle is located atop a mountain that reaches far above the clouds as the castle itself is cloaked by a secondary, magically produced layer of golden mist and clouds produced by the mages meditating within. This castle in question serves as the headquarters of the Scale Guard as their personal legion comprised of titanic ice dragons, wyverns and drakes soar through the skies and battle in friendly duels. Should the safety of this bastion or the surrounding islands ever be compromised, a protocol in which the magical beacons atop each tower constantly generating and storing energy as a slight portion is siphoned into producing the mists will be activated for a far different purpose. These beacons will either project a massive magical barrier over whatever is threatened separating the attackers from the inhabitants or release giant beams of pure magical energy to make whatever is hit look like it never ever existed in the first place.

While the superpowers battle for the surface and adventurers traverse vast oceans, beneath the land there exists another world. A vast network of caverns, caves, and tunnels, this place is home to beings both familiar and alien. Elves, dwarves, fairies, elementals, insectoids, and other beings alongside countless nameless horrors that have never seen the light of day.
To those from the world above, this is a disorienting and hopeless place. To the peoples and creatures that live here, it is home.
Entire cities, nations even, exist below the surface.

I assume this is where the Xiklik make their home when not bursting out into the outside world? Also if you are going to try and make a nation underground tell me. If not I’ll try and make a sort of idea on how the underground is.
>>
>>78160375
I actually wrote the Xiklik, so ya I would say they sort of live in/under the Shattered edge mountains. I just wanted to firmly establish that there is a sort of parallel subterranean world, I don't know if that was outright stated yet. I know there has been some talk of it and mention of drow but I didn't know what came of it. There is room for all sorts of underground stuff, even more insectoids. I won't be adding anything else personally so go right ahead.
>>
>>78160375
There are several races underground including
Drow (surface dwelling ones are known as Night Elves by some)
Dark Dwarves
Sapient large insects
About half the Maritime Khuluritai army but they haven’t really done anything or are that powerful when it comes to underground politics
Elementals who live in the tunnels, away from the large caverns cities are made in
Underground fay types
Ancient unnamable beasts
A particularly widespread species of goblin only able to live underground
Sea elves that have headed down here through underground rivers. They are actually quite powerful down here given the more saved nature of these parts and battle with the slightly more civilized Drow
Just a few basic races populating these parts. If anyone wants to take one of these and expand on them then go ahead. Now underground the two most widespread groups are the dark dwarves and drow. The dwarves have built the safe routes and bridges that pepper the tunnels while the drow are known for building cast underground cities. The Autians only know of the surface level Drow cities like Myr’klyt with the more underground ones being just as cruel as Drow stereotypes state. They have forces of foot warriors using their malicious nature and pure rage to battle instead of the centuries of martial skill the immortal elves in the world’s south have followed by mage-priestesses, slave fodder and chained monsters. The most recent major action of the Drow was leading a failed sign of Ignis and by extension Hakan to take the Satyrians immortality for themselves. This was a great loss for the race and they are still recovering from the great wounds dealt to them today. Dark dwarves are essentially just even more antisocial dwarves with ashen skin who often venture out of their holds and use their mysterious building materials and techniques to construct the unerodable pathways that connects the underground world together.

*savage not saved
I’ll head to sleep after this but some final notes as the insectoids. Some are merely ravenous beasts like the Xiklik but a race of them are the most technologically advanced group in the underground producing sophisticated elevators, trains, digging machines and other such inventions. Also seeing as there’s only enough room for about 4-6 more countries in Tismo given how much the Khanate owns due to the culture they’re themed after and what was described of them, I posit that the current world map should be left as it is with the north and southern continents being able to get expanded with a new underground map being added alongside it being easier for abovegrounders to meet and contact underground races and vice versa. In that case there won’t be any more need to expand the map as it’s already gotten large enough to feel like a full world and the underground races including new ones can interact with those aboveground. Where the Khuluritai with their tunnel fit into this I don’t really know but there could be a war between the dark dwarves or drow and them to see if they’ll become a relevant power underground and change the status quo a bit down there.

The Maritime Khurultai can neither confirm nor deny any and all rumors of a transoceanic tunnel. Such a tunnel would need extraordinary stability considering the distance between the two continents and the frequency of earthquakes along known fault lines, vast security and logistical measures to control traffic and enormous reserves of food and water to ensure any humans living down there would survive reasonably comfortable despite the lack of sunlight.

Frankly, it's hilarious to suggest such a thing.

Ignore the echo of my continued laughter.

The citadel of a particularly gruesome and reclusive sect of vampires. These monsters are highly intelligent, but few in number and they reside far from the light of the surface. They can go decades without feeding, but will eventually need to consume some kind of blood. They tend to prey upon the other races of the subterranean realms, but only by whisking away stragglers and those lost in the dark. They have a small host of enthralled minions, with dark dwarves being a preferred option due to their hardiness and the vampires not particularly enjoying the taste of their blood. The thralls can come from any race, but they are all distinguished by the red brands on their faces and arms, accompanied by eyes that seem to stare far away at nothing at all.
These vampires are horrible to behold and have left any semblance of their humanity behind centuries ago. Their numbers are fairly fixed, and the inclusion of new members is rare but possible.

A terrible and mighty medusa of the Soukos Republic. A unique species inhabiting the labyrinths, caves and treasure filled beaches that dot the hinterlands of Craetus and the surrounding island of Minoa. The medusae greatly resemble the snakemen of the Deep Desert and Khimerian nagas, a southern strain of snakemen spread throughout the Crescent Islands however their appearance of vibrant green scales rather than the sandier skin with patterns that other snakemen have mark them apart. They are best known for their horrific speed which coupled with their eyes, cursed long ago by one of the Soukan gods to make whatever looks into them turn into a stone statue unless the victim in question is directly blessed or connected to a god. This is such a fearsome ability that even the minotaurs that dominate the outside of Craetus in their own small subnation reminiscent of the Taur Tribes in Autia refuse to go near the ruins they dwell in. The beastmasters of Craetus are patient and efficient hunters however, so in some cases a medusae or two may be snagged and dragged back to the city. These warbeasts are then given a helmet that also serves as a blindfold, only removed when the line of sight is correct by the beastmaster who is controlling the medusa when they are brought into a battle. They are armed with massive halberds or a bow (fired using their sense of tracking what objects are nearby rather than through just sight) when in battle.

On the topic of minotaurs, they're as you expect. Bulky monsters who are enlisted en masse in the Soukan army and famed for their ability to charge even when faced by a firing line with their tough hides protecting them from the first few shots. If they're shot enough from a distance they'll die, but it's far more likely they'll have covered the distance needed to slam into you from their charge by then. They are armed with a great enchanted bronze chestplate and helmet, similar armor to Soukan hoplites but larger.

Interesting. So what races know of the underground? My guess is Autian nations have a very limited understanding of it through the more aboveground Drow cities who are more levelheaded and nice than their kindred deeper down in the underworld. The Khuluritai and Dright have a portion of their armies down there, enough to be somewhat relevant in the Lapus section of the underworld while most Tismo and Flickfowl countries have no clue the place exists, though there still is probably a steady stream of contact with the Miqdaadites probably looking to use the underground pathways to expand their trade routes or something like that. Same goes for islands, with the exception of the Sartyrians as they know a great deal about the underground given their longevity and the fact there was a failed attack to get to the World Flame not too long ago (by their standards at least). Same applies for the Nicsenoreans as they have definitely seen sea elves and drow before, probably having been living in Ignis centuries ago when an older attempted drow incursion happened or something like that. In other words they know about the underground but don’t act with it much being islands. The Dead Man’s Hand might be raided by sea elves and drow using this places isolation to easily get some slaves while in Kraurrah the IBRU and Pengus have to deal with repeated southern drow raids as well. Basically the drow are dicks and alongside sea elves serve as the main underground races who interact with abovegrounders while the dwarves and other such races living down there stick to the underground.

Here is a start to the underground map

I went with different shapes for different territories to help emphasize that much of the underground is solid bedrock. The shapes are not meant to be to scale, but cavern dwellers got pointy blobs to represent caverns, tunnel dwellers got a bunch of lines to represent tunnels, etc.
>>
>>
>>78180456
I mean bedrock is the only result of compressing stone a thousand times or more with magic, and its not like you couldn't just teleport bedrock away to make room for other stuff.

but yes, a good start! very clear differences between natural pockets and artificial ones.

A fox with luminous red skin and eyes of fire. It is clearly a Sartyrian creation meant to catch any Drow skulking around in the city that was their base of operations for their last attack. Much to the elves annoyance no Drow have come out yet that they’ve caught in action meaning they still can’t find where the city is hidden so it can be burned off the map. However the Drow haven’t been able to get their slaves needed to maintain their cities in as fast as usual leading to a great decrease on their effectiveness du to this situation, so perhaps there is a silver lining in all of this?

Some additional information on the labyrinths beneath Soukos I saw on the map

The labyrinths are a mystery within an enigma even compared to the more fantastical elements of the Soukos Republic. Unknown in their creation, unknown in their scale, these vast interlinked mazes underground are places no sane man would dare to go. And yet many enter these magical mazes for treasure, adventure and knowledge. Any attempts to shorten the process of exploration by climbing up the maze or damaging the mossy stone walls that make it up have failed through inexplicable natural causes, a byproduct of the magic seeping through these halls meaning one must properly enter the maze should they seek any of these things. A traveler through these corridors will stumble across many strange sights, such as a forested grove, canyon or whatever strange phenomena appear as they travel between the halls. Exploration of these lands, which always seem to be unique for travelers coming through allows them to find unknown herbs to make new medicines and poisons, rusted equipment that if resorted back to full capacity will grant all sort of strange effects and even unique animals. The animals are the wild card among these things, as many of them are malevolent and seek to kill whoever stumbled upon their layer. The medusae are one of these, though there’s a great variety of the dwellers down below leading to many Craetan beastmasters venturing deep into the labyrinth not seeking to avoid these creatures but rather subdue and capture them. Such is the power of many of these creatures like the basilisk and bronze minotaur (a massive subspecies of Minotaur with even tougher hide and bronze horns that rivals and even surpasses in some cases the biggest taurs from the taur tribes in might and ferocity) that a battle can be turned from a surefire loss into a victory, however the painful ordeals required to find and even catch one more than makes up for it.
>>
>>78189783

One final note, the maze is larger than it seems on the map because of the magic that binds it together. From what can be told from geologists aboveground it takes up a sizable chunk beneath Soukos but in most cases for the adventurers down there it goes far beyond that from what their maps state.

And be victorious from long range against said creature too unless the elves are sneaky and have an ambush and the dragon gets in melee distance, then the balance is shifted in the dragon’s favor. bombardment Belkan Tercions and repeating riflemen entered the city. They faced strong resistance from the crews of the Dreadships who had joined the garrison as naval infantry equipped with a variety of close ranged weapons as well as the Idol trio BLACKpunk. The magic and blades of the Ercaenmedians was not enough against the might of the Belkan hordes who captured the city after a day of hard fighting, but the port facilities were heavily damaged in the process. This meant that the Belkan and Soukon navies would be unable to use the port as a base till it was repaired with only the extremely large city of Wunderwahl also having the facilities to maintain large, armored warships.

Marshal Alexandrios advanced quickly on Tavenna taking the city before it's defenses could be raised. Wurtbad would manage to ready it's defenses in time after fighting off a vanguard force of Belkan and Soukon Cavalry and prove to be a much hardier target as the combined force made to siege it. The commander of the city's garrison General Ljuda Rostok, who coincidentally had been a veteran of thirteen Belkan wars, had prepared physical and magical defenses at the sight of the enemy armies with barricades dotting the streets and holy water protection circles being drawn around it's limits. The Ercaenmedians had hoped that they would be able to hold for reinforcements from the army at Wunderwahl, initially only having to fight a few Divisions the defenders would be shocked to find 60,000 Belkans had encircled their city.

While Marshal Alexandrios had left behind two Corps to besiege Wurtbad under Marshal Julian his own force of four Corps would advance to Wunderwahl and begin maneuvering to entice the Ercaenmedians into a battle. This would culminate In the Battle of Pinz-On-The-Sea which would see half of the Allied force routed but victorious with the fire support of several Neo-Triremes. But holy shit that's amazing, beat him by the skin of my balls. Real question is how the rest of Autia will react.

I'd say the Belkans would have a very tenuous hold on Ercaemedia with a significant portion of the Ercaemedian military fleeing into nearby Aesnaria.

According to the unit strengths posted at the start of the Belkan-Ercaenmedi story arc, there are 1,200,000 Belkans involved in the fight, but only 30,000 Soukans and probably just a few thousand Voluntas, so I doubt Soukas and Voluntas can really take credit for anything other than a couple of key battles.

>>78199428
Ercaenmedians specialize in guerilla warfare, so I am guessing a lot of the elite fighters stay behind to mess with Belkan occupying forces. As seen in the Poole Harbor, ninjas, necromancers, enchanters, etc., can really wreck havoc.

Speaking of occupying forces, is anyone writing anything for the fighting that took place on Rinolsol? I was thinking of describing the situation a bit, but I don't remember anyone ever writing lore for the Ercaenmedian colony on Rinolsol. I figure it should be kind of a multi-cultural area that has changed hands many times throughout the centuries, and is now home to an odd mix of Sorgos, Nantic, and Ercaenmedian humans, as well as some Greek monster races.

Soukos anon here, I'll write a bit about the Ercaenmedian colony in Rinolsol. Haven't been here for a few days and I'm honestly shocked the pretentious Greeks I made have appeared in that much stories. Wasn't expecting the Soukans (or is it Soukons now? I mean I get your reasoning behind calling them that but I'm still not sure yet) to stay relevant past a few days after I wrote some supplementary information on them. To the anon who wrote about the labyrinths, I was thinking of something different when I saw the new map but your idea is fine too. The medusa stuff is fine though, good work on that.

The lands to the north of Soukos have always been gated off by natural borders and magical boundaries maintained by some aetherial being. As such these northern lands have grown feral in nature, with an extremely large and concentrated population of monsters having grown for centuries without much stopping them. There have been attempts by the Soukans to populate these parts but their idea of expansion through building a massive new city-state at strategic points that keep getting bigger for a specific purpose doesn't work very well here as these colonies were getting sacked by monsters every night. As such they turned their minds outwards and sailed far beyond their homeland creating the Sorgos colonies. In that time the menagerie that had grown here had split off from relentless infighting into small tribes and if left untouched would've turned out as quite similarly to the Taur Tribes but with different inhabitants. That was not to be however as some particularly foolish Ercaenmedian sailors ended up landing here instead of the city-state of Cornithus where they were headed to trade. A mistake was quickly turned into a success however as through surveying this land they determined it would be ripe picking for greater Ercaenmedi to overtake as long as countermeasures to avoid the monsters were taken.
>>
>>78205558

Following a perilous journey home, the crew informed their superiors who worked in the army about the wonders of this land. The great amounts of monsters such as the wyerns used so often by Ercaenmedians were far more common to see that at home in the mountains while exotic new beasts roamed empty streets of abandoned Soukan cities. Fascinated by these promises a great host was assembled of Sailors, mages and warriors throughout the EU hungry for new land. The process undertaken to assimilate this land into the EU was a far more subtle one however unlike the prior inhabitants who chose to antagonize and attack the monsters. Firstly diplomats with truckloads of cooked food were sent to the local monster tribes. Secondly any tribe who opposed them would be declared as an enemy and their new loyal monstrous servants (at least if they kept supplying delicious food, new weapons and other such gifts) would attack and destroy them. The third phase would be to seize the empty cities, an easy task by this point in the plan. The land was brought to heel without much of a fuss in the end and the Ercaenmedians had won through bribery. Soon they named this colony Ercaenepolis and got to work, building pagodas atop ancient marble stonework left behind by the Soukans. Over time through this constant bribery of the local monster population alongside some especially horny witches wanting to copulate with one, some of the monsters grew smaller and gained softer, more humanlike features. A portion of these far cuter monsters were sent to the homeland and through enough training were taught to become idols, as the Ercaenmedians kill for cute monstergirls it seems.
>>
>>78205703

Finally, a far more unprecedented secondary effect of living here and one that has ensured Ercaenepolis remains one of the EU's most prized colonies is the effect it has on new mages. Due to it's proximity to the Soukos Republic and the aetheric radiation seeping throughout those lands due to the presence of the many ethereal beings worshipped as gods in the republic, many mages have found their magical capabilities vastly increased from living here. As such Ercaenepolis has ended up as the primary source of warbeasts (mostly wyverns as most of the local fauna needs to be trained very specifically to become warbeasts, a secret seemingly reserved by Soukan beastmasters) and mages for the EU as the spells of those born and living here have a more magically attuned effect when cast making them "supercharged" in a sense and more powerful, a similar effect to what's observed in the Soukan battle mages and oracles. The shared magical capacity of these two mages from different nations has led to a relatively good relationship between the mage filled city-state of Delphus with a sort of exchange program being held between the magical schools of these two places. As such, when plans were drawn up of invading the colony Delphus refused to help meaning the combined forces of the city-states had to go in without battle mages, just the magical martial arts their hoplites know from secondhand aetheroot exposure greatly increasing their lethality and ability to block bullets with their shield alongside the enchanted items and warmachines they already had for magic. On the topic of the current population however, it's mostly Ercaenmedian humans but you can see Sorgos humans descended from the settlers here centuries ago with some having refused to leave and battle mages/oracles visiting as part of the exchange program.

Some final notes:

There are Nantic merchants who frequent Ercaenepolis over the city-states for its cheaper pricing on magical goods, albeit with a lower quality than the Soukans who have lived in Rinolsol far longer with the increased magical potency the Ercaenmedians living here have being mostly secondhand as radiation from the mainland.

The monsters living here populate the outskirts and hinterlands of Ercaenepolis, still in tribes and as savage as ever with the exception of those smaller ones I mentioned earlier. They have massive tunnels connecting to the labyrinths in which they travel between nations as they like.

The largest Ercaenmedian schools of magic are located here due to the magical nature of these lands and is where the skilled broom mages and necromancers in the Ercaenmedian army come from. As part of that exchange program I mentioned you can see them in Delphus too, with many Ercaenmedian students living there having been seized by the greater Soukan army to be held as hostages and prisoners of war until the people of Ercaenepolis choose to surrender their lands back to the Soukans. Should everything work out and the lands go back to Soukos it'll be far easier to repopulate them this time around due to the many new technologies developed since last time it as attempted. Alongside this they will have a direct path to Belkor should they begin an assault of that republic again.

So what do you think of the additional info written for the place?

An image of the Srechund army. It's filled with hundreds of mewling kobold warriors and the metal mages that follow them. Alongside this they bring dozens of giant hwacha large enough to fire spears instead of arrows and function as a battering ram due to the statue of a dire bear (as large as they are in real life actually, so for the Khuluritai anon who wanted to know about their size here you go) carrying it. It is unknown why this horde of an army still has statues of their former overlords and oppressors but they work. In some cases the spears fired from these things are guided by a mage through the air due to their metallic properties.

Not the most interesting I know, but remember that this wasn't my idea. Just my rewrite of a friend trying to make something for this setting when I told him about it and failing because the original lore he sent me for this place was awful. If you want to see the main stuff I wrote for this place I think it was in the sixth thread or something like that.

wide encirclement of the city while awaiting Field Marshall Irons and his two fresh Corps. The Belkan and Soukon force would attempt to cut the city off from all resupply and reinforcements but crucially it was still able to maintain a link to fresh food via the sea.

Three weeks of siege had left Wurtbad burning and in ruins but still standing, the city had endured a full scale assault on the walls just a week before with a force lead by elite Shock-Halberdiers and Freemen Champions barely beaten back, but in the third week it would come under an aerial assault. While all Belkan forces brought with them a few squadrons of Eagle Fighters (unless they were fighting farther south where Smelter's disease was much more common) they were no match for the powerful Wyvern riders of the Ercaenmedian military. So when the Belkan Air Force committed squadrons of Aero-Maschinen and Griffins to the assault on Wurtbad air superiority was finally able to be won, with Belkan Zeppelins and Aero-Cruisers beginning to bomb the formidable city. The city would finally be taken when regiments of the "High-Jumpers" Shock-Halberdiers parachuted into the city and opened it's gates to the waiting Belkan army, very few inside were spared by the vengeful besiegers.

Concurrently with the capture of Wurtbad the Belkan and Soukon Navies would win the Battle of Toulon Gulf, forcing much of the Ercaenmedian Ignan Fleet to flee north to Rhinosol or Belkor or be destroyed by the overwhelming firepower of the Allied Fleet. This would exhaust the last of the ammunition of the Belkan-Soukon Armada so when they made steam to blockade Wunderwahl it was hoped that their presence alone would dissuade all shipping.
>The Siege of Wunderwahl and the End of the Campaign
With Marshal Julian marching the remnants of his forces to Wunderwahl the Belkans began their bombardment of what was once one of the largest cities in Western Autia, Zeppelin raids were proposed at first but it's Sky-Cannon

defenses were much too heavy resulting in the losses of several of the precious machines. Entrenched howitzers and superheavy mortars would make a ruin of the once proud city as field artillery would pound away at it's massive walls. But the assault was taking far too long for Marshal Irons liking so he proposed a plan, having his finest Lancers round up several Necromancers from among the population and bring them to him. He informed the Necromancers that with the amount of dead produced by the city their would be many suitable hosts that they could rise to open the gates and let this army in, while he could just ignore the city and head farther south it's garrison was much too big and capable of wrecking his supply lines. The Necromancers were given a chance between this mission or death, with all but one closing death rather than betraying their country, the only one who would agree would be the Coward Legrand who began preparations for this great feat of necromancy.

After two further weeks of bombardment and preparation the ritual that would damn Legrand forever in the eyes of the Ercaenmedian people was enacted and a horde of shambling Undead arose in Wunderwahl as Belkan and Soukon shock troopers with ladders approached the walls, a force of Cockatrice Knights rushed towards the city gates as well. What the Belkans did not know was that zombies are quite incapable of feats of dexterity such as opening gates, leading the Belkan Knights being butchered by Steam-powered gatling guns, but their appearance allowed the Allied Shock Corp to take the walls after an extremely deadly battle. The Allied shock troops on the walls fired signal rockets calling for the rest of the army to begin a full attack on the city as they rushed to open the main gates to the city. Soukon Hoplites with Fire-Sarrissas and Belkan Halberdiers would hold their positions at the Gates for hours as the rest of the army raced towards the city, holding against an overwhelming wave

For how much you're mentioning the Soukons doing things during the battle, I checked and they really don't have much forces.

>30,000 men
>100 Dragon Slayer Ballista
>30 Neo-Triremes

I mean I get that they're elite and very well trained but still, even the southern elves send more troops during these massive battles. And yes I know it's just a detachment but I think the amount of things you're having them do does not correspond well to how many there are. Maybe raise the number of troops sent a bit so it makes sense?

of Ercaenmedian Hussars and Pikemen, with the last of them falling as the first Belkan Tercion entered the gates. The city's garrison mobilized to seal the breach in the city's walls with Silver Guard Riflemen blasting away at Belkan Musketeers and the lines met, with the overwhelming numbers on the Belkan side allowing them to push back the defenders and deeper into the city though they would pay a heavy price. After two hours of melee at the Gates the Belkans finally were able to bring the bulk of their army inside the city, adopting loose formation to fight among the rubble of the ruined urban area, leaving behind pikes for Swords and Warhammers. With the Gates taken it was just a manner of time till the city fell, first the Merchant Quarter, then the Port Quarter leaving on the Government Quarter and Fort Trumter still in Ercaenmedian control.

Dug in Volley Guns made a mockery of the breastplates and armor of the Belkan Infantry, lone wizards picking off commanders from apartment roofs and crude undead monstrosities would be summoned to fight waves of Halberdiers leading to multiple city blocks being leveled by field and heavy artillery.

After three days of fighting Fort Trumter fell to the Belkan army leaving the Civil District as the only part of the city still in Ercaenmedian hands, Governor Paolo Chung vowed to never surrender to the invaders and had the rest of the Militia gather around the Governor's Palace. The city would surrender two days later.

With Wunderwahl under Belkan control Ercaenmedian resistance along the rest of the coastline would collapse with the Belkans fortifying the cities under their control, allowing for fresh reinforcements to be brought from Belkan proper as well as Soukos. On the other coastline the campaign would go even better with the Belkans driving as far south as the Westphallican border, cutting off Ercaenmedia from Alkor with the successful battle for Arnodts Warf.

I'm thinking for now they'd only be fighting on the Ignis Coast of Ercaenmedia for the initial stage of the War but with Belkan controlling the coast now they'd be much more involved. I don't know how big of a force Soukon anon thinks is reasonable but anything works.

Anon here I apologize have been away so far but here's what happened.
>Nicenoreans penetrate deep into the Sartyrian Kingdom threatening the capital.
>Both races of Elves bring their full force to bear at the capital, the World Flame sensing so many new sources of kindling decides to ignite in full force.
>The flames once more cover all of Ignis, slaying much of the population and turning the most bloodthirsty into immortal and immensely powerful ash demons. Not even Dragons are spared with some becoming Ash-Drakes
>The remaining Elves leave Ignis to look for the rest of their race, hoping to finally free themselves from the Flame even if it will cost them immortality
Right now I'd say the combined Nicenorean-Sartyrian fleet is going north to Autia proper.

Soukos anon here. I believe the current force dispatched is meant to simply thin the numbers out before fleeing while the main army of reinforcements will sail in. Given that the Ercaenmedians are both taking and dealing heavy losses the greater Soukan fleet of the reinforcements will serve to refill the allied troop count and help defend the blockade preventing Ercanemedian reinforcements from arriving as they have full firepower while defending the ships emptied of ammunition in blocking and possible entry points. While the greater navy which be supported by the remaining warriors from the Silver Host the main force will disembark from the ships. My estimate for numbers dispatched is about 500,000, not as much as the sheer numbers the EU has but given the quality of these troops and the fact that this time a complete Soukan army is being brought in for once it’ll be quite useful in turning the tide. By complete army I mean a force utilizing foot hoplites and artillery like before but in far greater numbers alongside hordes of warbeasts like hydras and satyrs, companies from several named regiments who aren’t basic hoplites showing up, their version of airships being used alongside pegasus chariots, artillery like flame cannons and enchanted cannons being used to soften the enemy up while the main dragon killer ballista fire, you get the idea. Essentially it’s the byproduct of several city-states working together with each sending a fraction of their main garrison (about 100,000 men sent by each) out to fight while back at home they’re going to take out Ercaenepolis in the north and deprive Ercaenmedi of magic and its last reinforcements as Ercaenedhorn is preoccupied with ogres.

Possible Union vs. Sostenfiel war then? They use a ton of magitech with even their more scientific (I use that term very loosely) creations like clockwork animals gaining a degree of automation and independence using magitech. In other words it’s everything the Union would hate, a large nation like them freely using magic in day to day life with semi-sentient machines powered by magi tech running around.

> Right now I'd say the combined Nicenorean-Sartyrian fleet is going north to Autia proper.
Are they going to meet up and try to bring other more good aligned elves like the desert and valkyrie elves back into their fold on their journey? Also seeing as most of the world just knows more primitive or peace inclined elves what would they think of a large fleet of ships dwarfing their own filled with creatures unknown to them just showing up? Might lead to some very tense diplomacy between the northern superpowers and the elder races. It’s not like they can strong-arm the elves into just heading out either by this point as the Sartyrians and Nicsenoreans being united and sharing their skills freely sounds terrifying, the Sartyrians are menacing enough themselves.

I'd say that would be the main goal, hell maybe even try to strong-arm some of the Human kingdoms as well to provide warriors and ships.

I think some fiction based on the interactions of the Elven superpower with the rest of the world would be fucking kino.

Perhaps for Campaigns in Autia the PCs could be Mercs or volunteers that decided to join up with the Elves for riches and glory.

Thanks for explaining this, but will anything ever be written about the war? Also, do the Sartyrians keep their fire elementals and other such creations now that the World Flame went into overdrive destroying Ignis? I mean they could just use a magical fire produced by the Nicsenoreans using soul magic or something like that to summon the legions of fire elementals they’re known for so it’s possible. Also does anything happen back in Nicsenor after these events? Being as hungry for revenge as they were the entire army and the civilian-militia, a process in which all civilians willing to learn some ubiquitous and useful combat techniques and spellcraft are enlisted in the greater army to bolster its ranks came with them meaning about 90% of their population. On the topic of the civilian-militia, even though they haven’t devoted their entire existence to the art of war like their professional peers in the army have, immortality is immortality and the training these elves have received has been practiced over centuries alongside a zeal for when the great day of battle comes means your standard civilian warrior has the skills and experience of a Nantic veteran at least. This applies to the Sartyrians as well who gain combat experience from frequent raids on weaker nations alongside training against fire elemental constructs in Ignis.

Wait, I can’t believe I forgot to mention their mages in this. The higher level of magical attunement within a Soukan gained through generations of families absorbing the aetheric radiation from their lands alongside the literal demigods that their most legendary warriors became is the primary reason they’ve stayed around for as long as they have. Their mages are undisputedly some of the best around in the entire world due to the large variety of magic types taught in Delphus and the aforementioned genetic quirks giving them a higher casting strength and skill ceiling than most. They use this magical talent to create the state of industrial scale enchantment and magic items Soukos is known for, aided by constant nigh-religious consumption of aetherroot but when brought into battle they can wreak a deadly toll with a single spell taking dozens of lives in one fell stroke. It is even said that their greatest mages may rival the elves in pure magical strength.

I’m saying this as there hasn’t been any progress on the map for a while. There’s about room for 3-4 more countries left, maybe 5 if you count the land near Skvoenbard but if no one populates it I’ll just have it be a conquered vassal of the Dalavchtai where most of their industry comes from.

Darhun Coast:

People:

Darhun is primarily home to the Darhun human culture and the Jhazai elf culture. Both are nomadic hunter gatherers with little interest in the outside world, though those interested in exploring the world sometimes do mercenary work for the nations of Lapus.

The Darhun are a Jinsan race, though no one remembers whether they came from Autia, Tismo, or some other region. They are a blunt, pragmatic people, who have no mercy for the weak, but also see no shame in retreating or hiding from those with superior numbers.

The Jhazai are a little known branch of the elf race. They are sometimes compared to the elves of Nicsenor, but it is generally believed they arrived from the fey worlds separately. Jhazai are seemingly impervious to the cold, and dress lightly all year round. Aside from their manner of dress, fondness for elaborate art, more extensive use of ritual, and greater skill at ambush, their culture is surprisingly similar to the Darhun. It is unknown if they have the same immortality as certain other elf races, thanks to their violent way of life, few have been known to live for more than a few centuries.

Aside from the Darhun and the Jhazai, the area is home to orcs, goblins, orgillon, frost giants, and a few minor arctic fey races.

Religion:

Religion in this region is mostly limited to folklore and origin myths, many of which are unique to a certain tribe. Scholars from more civilized regions have long ago given up on trying to catalogue all the different gods and god-like entities worshipped here. Worship by both the Darhun and Jhazai includes erecting stone circles, carving large spirals into the tundra moss (or snow, depending on the season), and brutal ritual dismemberment of both living animals and captives.

Magic:

Some Darhun and Jhazai use ice magic, weather magic, enchantments, or necromancy, but overall magic isn't really there forte. However, they are sometimes able to cast powerful magic via time consuming and unreliable rituals.

Military:

The Darhun, Jhazai, and other inhabitants of the Darhun Coast frequently raid each other, particularly when food is scarce. Racial loyalty is not seen as particularly important, and it is common for tribes of different races to form alliances with each other against their own race. Although few tribes have the ability to forge steel, steel weapons are surprisingly common as steel is rare and valuable and the same blade, arrowhead, axe head, or bludgeon may be used for decades, carefully scavenged and repaired anytime it is broken or lost in battle. Firearms are rare simply because procuring ammo is difficult, though many tribes will have a few fire arms lying around for the rare occasions when they can loot or procure gunpowder and shot. Tribes that are short on steel weapons will use sharpened bone instead.

Stronger tribes often tame powerful creatures like woolly rhinos, woolly mammoths, bears, giant wolves, and saber cats to ride into battle. Both stronger and weaker tribes also love ambushes and hit and run tactics. Although the open tundra has few ambush points and is mostly left to the orcs, ogrillons, and frost giants, the coastal areas are covered in rocky hills riddled with caves, small forests of unnaturally hardy pine, and often dense coastal fogs that obscure everything.

History:

The inhabitants of Darhun Coast have been there as far back as anyone cares to remember. Several attempts by nations from Lapus and the Nantic States have failed badly. There simply isn't anything worth exporting in this region that justifies the strong military presence it takes to keep the region from being overrun by hostile tribal races.

Economy:

The tribes in this region are mostly self-sufficient hunter gatherers, however, a few minor trading posts are maintained by free lancers and minor states who trade surplus and outdated weaponry for furs and carve-able bones. These outposts are also sometimes used by nations like Dright and Yr to recruit mercenaries.

Sources of food include caribou, arctic rodents, migratory birds, megafauna like mammoths and rhinos, fishing, seals, whales, as well as harvesting certain berries, tubers, lichen, and fungi during the summer months.

Voluntas Pact:

People:

Most inhabitants of the Voluntas Pact are humans of Sorgos descent, but slaves and free men from other regions are not uncommon.

Citizens are the top of Pact society. After having completed their mandatory military training, many go on to become soldiers, while others become landowners, businessmen, artisans, and bureaucrats. All citizens in a given region have the right to attend the regional assembly and court and vote on a range of matters including trials, laws, military actions, and the election of officials, though many won't attend sessions unless a topic of personal interest is being voted upon. Citizens can only be the children of other citizens, and due to low birth rates and occasional high military casualties, the percentage of the population made of citizens is slowly dropping.

Below them are foreign free men known as metics. Relatively rare, metics still often fill a valuable niche by bringing foreign ideas and skills to an otherwise socially conservative region, or doing jobs not really seen as suitable for a citizen, helot, or slave.

Next are helots. Making up a large portion of the population, they are similar to the serfs found in certain other backwards nations in that they have more rights than slaves, but are still highly constricted in terms of mobility, profession, and military training. All are Sorgos since the position is hereditary, and there is no mechanism for anyone to be promoted or demoted to helot.

At the bottom are slaves. Some slaves fill relatively high status roles like teachers, scholars, concubines, foremen, and artisans, but most are laborers or domestics. Most slaves are Sorgos (descendants of those on the wrong side of civil wars and revolts) but slaves from exotic locations are highly fashionable with wealthy citizens (typically from the Second Empire via Afzen middlewomen). Slaves are rarely freed, but many are kept motivated by the thought of securing a more comfortable posting.
>>
File: 2 - Priest.jpg (36 KB, 474x670)

>>78221363

Religion:

Religion in the Pact is a strange fusion of the Sorgos and Nantic Pantheons with the primary gods being Zeupiter (a mix of Zeupiter and Ace/Alcar), Shull (mix of Nepseidon, Hadiese, and Shomdar/Shull), and Aphrodinus (mix of Aphodinus and Gaelhalla, Ayalla).

Magic:

Members of the Pact see direct use of magic in combat as cowardly, and overall aren't super keen on magic, though they do make use of healing magic, enchantments of weapons and armor, and occasionally divination. Although a highly controversial topic, it is believed many of the greatest warriors "cheat" by either using subtle magic to improve their combat prowess, or getting others to enhance their speed, strength, and reflexes with magic.

Military:

The Pact military heavily emphasizes individual martial skill and valor. Spears, javelins, swords, and round shields are the preferred gear, though many prefer more exotic melee weapons to better stand out. Bows are sometimes grudgingly used, though most would rather reach melee combat as soon as possible. Armor is often showy and impractical, though of course masks and visors are worn whenever possible. Siege warfare is almost unheard of since there are few functional fortresses in the area, though Pact soldiers sometimes hire themselves out as mercenaries, in which case, they typically rely on other to break the defenses before plunging into glorious melee combat. They also don't do great against modern artillery or massed gunfire, and as a result are usually employed as skirmishers, flankers, and raiders. Pact citizens are taught to treat martial combatants with respect, and usually try to ransom, trade, or sometimes simply release skilled combatants that were too injured in combat to continue. In contrast, captured conscripts and citizens are humiliated, neglected, abused, and sometimes tortured.

Most Pact soldiers are citizens, but occasionally during major wars helots will be conscripted, though their training and equipment is abysmal, and their commanders seem to delight in needlessly getting them killed. Some wars are believed to have been deliberately started just to thin out the helot population a bit.

Military (continued):

The Pact's relations with its neighbors is complex:

The Hiisi and other monster races living to the east sometimes raid the Pact, and other times are targetted during glory seeking raids and hunts. No serious attempt has ever been made to conquer the Hiisi though, since to do so would deprive the Pact of one of their favorite foes.

The Spartician Amazons also raid the Pact for weapons, armor, and mates. Likewise, counter raids are not uncommon. Captured Pact soldiers who fought particularly well are sometimes taken as mates by the Sparticians, while a defeated Sparticians will sometimes fall in love with particularly skilled captors while waiting to be ransomed. Needlessly to say, the relations between Sparticia and the Pact are complex and strange to outsiders.

Relations with the Afzen Amazons of Afrozil are poorer. The border between these two nations is poorly defined and a frequent source of conflict, as is illegal slave snatching from both sides by greedy landowners. However, wars rarely last long since economic ties between the two nations are strong, particularly the Pact's reliance on Afzen Amazons to acquire new slaves for them to purchase.

Relations with Eritroans are generally good, mostly since the Eritroans never give the Pact a reason to fight them. Some Pact generals have tried to start wars with the Eritroans simply to have something new to fight, though cooler heads have always prevailed, since deep down the elites of Pact society know they may need a reliable ally if they are ever threatened by a major power.

The city states that make up the Pact frequently fight among themselves, and relish any chance they get to put down a revolt by helots or slaves, or even the rumor of a revolt by helots or slaves.

Economy:

A somewhat backward nation economically, the Pact relies heavily on dirt cheap slave labor to make up for its low technology levels. Attempts to modernize have been strongly resisted by wealthy landowners invested in the status quo. The Pact exports good quality grains, meats, and vines to a range of nations via ocean trade routes. They also sell arms and armor to the Eritroans, Sparticians, Afrozil, and Aesanaeria, though many other nations arrogantly feel such equipment is too primitive to be of interest to them. The ruling class dislikes technology, but imports a wide range of exotic foods, jewelry, clothes, and other status symbols, particularly slaves. Mercenary work and adventuring are looked upon favorably, and Pact mercenaries are common in Eldrian States, and sometimes Sorgos and Nantic States.

If you don't mind, I'll try and add a bit of history here to try and explain how the Pact showed up in the first place. For anyone curious to how the other Sorgos nations showed up it's probably a similar situation to this.

In the time of expansion for the Soukans, the world was a friendlier place. While some younger nations may have been rapidly expanding, the Soukans were content merely to take key pieces of land and greatly expand the infrastructure of them to make new city-states and then carry on with their spread. In those times progress was quick and the Sorgos colonies as they were known soon were vastly spreading in size with vast swathes of land being built upon and regions like what is now Aesanaeria mined for the abundance of jewels and natural resources they had. Each city-state back home had their own colonization initiative active at the time and the region which is now the Voluntas Pact was a former colony of Sparathus. This is evident from the similar appreciation for martial excellence shared between both sides however the Pact has taken things a step further from Sparathus, which while still preferring melee combat freely uses magic in their fighting styles to greater enhance their lethality. Even their greatest warriors, the Black Blades (soldiers in black plate armor wielding huge enchanted obsidian greatswords that consume combat drugs in battle hashashin style to pull off bullshit usually reserved for elder elves like deflecting bullets with your sword) use magic in their techniques and use enchanted weapons. This shift in ideology was primarily caused by the isolation of the former colony, leading to the settlers left behind and the locals to change their doctrine from one of slow outwards expansion to one of aggressive defense from Amazon neighbors. Pic related shows this change as their inherent magical talents were diluted into nothing from prolonged separation from their homeland.
>>
>>78224866
Essentially it ended up devolving from constant raids and losing the magical abilities from their homeland through procreation with the locals leading to the current situation. Recently however the Soukans have showed back up again but aren't very well loved by the people who see them as posers who don't respect the art of melee as much as they do magic. Their leaders however understanding the use of magic to augment your martial prowess have gotten along well enough and trade has restarted between the nations with captured slaves and Spartican/Afzen warriors being sent back to the republic to work or fight in the colosseums in return for jewelry and higher quality weapons being sent by the Soukans.

>Across the world reports have been made of a strange fleet having stopped at the shores of many nations across the world. Those who have seen this fleet with their own eyes and even approached it speak of a strange mix of both massive black and white ships sailing side by side crewed by groups of elementals, both of ice and fire alongside a host of strange spirits. The size of these mysterious ships is unknown, though reports claim the ones that appear to be battleships outstrip even Alkorian dreadnoughts in scale and craftmanship. Riding atop these mysterious vessels are what appear to be elves and they all share a similar story, they are all a dispatch from a far greater fleet that is sailing north in search of others like them and that they seek to introduce themselves to the mortal races.

Merchant vessels and a few battleships from the Nicsenorean-Sartyrian fleet have showed up in various nations across the world seeking to make allies and find out if there are any elves living among these nations so they could convince these elves to join them following the destruction of Ignis by the World Flame. What do the nations of Autia and of other continents think of this situation?

I don't think they are particularly anti-magic like The Union, they just don't like changes to the status quo, which is that the citizens justify their high status in society largely based on martial ability. They are probably worried increased use of magic and/or technology in their society would render them redundant and led to centralization of state power.

They would get along with Sparathans and other Soukos city states well enough due to their martial focus, but would be wary of anything that could threaten their social status like political meddling, establishing nearby colonies, or pacifying bordering nations.

Welcome to the multi-colored pill box that is The Confederate League of Hobgoblin City-States.

A nation of Hobgoblins, for Hobgoblins, by Hobgoblins. (and other goblinoids, but only if you obey the rules.)

We've got 4 City-States, 7 Scions, 5 Satrapies, 4 Satellites, 3 Dominions, 5 Protectorates, 8 Vassals, 5 Tributaries, 9 Subsidiaries, 16 Thralls and 42 Signatories (whom we can't keep track of but live in the area).

We were founded on the coast and we're pushing inland but not very quickly because the higher-ups take a lot of time and effort to properly categorize their lands and peoples.

Basically there's a ton of debating going on, its like the national sport. Not to mention it expands the power base of the major players.

But so let me explain what's going on here in the easiest way i know how.

first we've got your City-States, the founders of the Confederate League, the biggest population centers and the political powerhouses.

They saw the weird mixture of forest, wetland and jungle they landed upon 600 years ago from distant shores and said "let's live here. what's more, let's conquer it."

First we've got Skraeling, the Feudal Noocracy, where the people swear alligience to philosophical elites. They're the oldest city-state and have the most traditions, beliefs, superstitions and arrogance.

Then you've got Djolkoun, the Technocratic Plutocracy, where highly educated rich elites rule over skilled artisan crafters. They're the industrial base, the R&D center and the most economic city-state.

Next up, we have Vrynqost, our resident Meritocratic Stratocracy, where our most skilled warriors, strategists and tacticians preside over a all aspects of life. The main source of the nations military and my hometown, by the way.

Finally, there's Puowbyan, the Timocratic Kritarchy, where Honorable Judges force their laws onto everyone the come across. They're the drive behind the rest. If anybody knows to to rally people to a cause, it's them.

2) Juoxban
3) Hjvarin
4) Inpaest
5) Dovkari
6) Qemlauo
7) Zvardot

they're on the border, sure, and its dangerous there, but trust me, it's never boring!

oh, and while I'm on the subject of independent, there's the 42 Signatories I mentioned. they're all nomads- 13 Hunter-Gatherer Bands, 20 Mercenary Bands and 9 Migrant Worker Bands. They're highly skilled in knowing the land, war or their trade, so they've special recognition by the League and report directly to the council, rather than be another classification. They can be anywhere, at any time, so trying to place them on a map is meaningless, but they've got complete autonomy amongst their own people. The smallest is about a hundred people, while the largest is about a thousand. Their always recruiting though, so if one asks you to join, TAKE THE CHANCE. best decision of my life.

here's the C.L.H.C. integrated into the world map. like I said, they're a target for the Khanate- they won't get much characterization other than "insane and obsessive militant expansionists with a natural obedience to hierarchy".

They probably would take other combatants more seriously since the Khanate is "just" nomads, and vastly underestimate them until its too late. but once conquered (they won't recognize a human force as superior without a good fight), if you can convince them that they'll do well under the Khan, they'll ask how they can help serve.

The Ercaenepolis Incursion

Ercaenepolis is considered to be without a doubt the most important colony belonging to Ercaenmedi. It has a relatively high population ready for enlistment, serves as their main source of wyverns and mages and is very well defended from any attackers due to two series of mountains on both sides of Rinolsol helping create a terrain advantage should it ever be attacked from land. This had led to the region becoming a vital point in the ongoing Autian conflict due to its ability to send a new wave of reinforcements, one that would surely be enough to ensure victory for the EU through sheer outnumbering of their enemies. In fact this shipping of reinforcements was going to happen from what intelligence reports sent to generals in the army of the Soukos Republic in a weeks time. Grave news indeed for the Soukans as the allied military of the Western Pact was currently attempting to break through the stalemate that the conflict had boiled into with the Ercaenmedians furiously defending the center of their homeland from the intruders. Action had to be taken and as such, a plan was swiftly made to stop the reinforcements before they could reach Ercaenmedi known as "Operation Swift Wind" to outsiders. The initial steps as suggested by Marshal First Class Phausius Bella would be to lure out the leaders of Ercaenepolis through holding Ercaenmedian mages-in-training visiting Delphus as part of the exchange program between the nations hostage. Under the pretense of negotiation over the lives of these bright students the chief general from both parties would meet in between the borders of their nations to negotiate their release. This would lead into a deadly trap however as an elite cell would be dispatched to intercept and assassinate the leading general of Ercaenepolis as they were travelling to meet the Soukan leaders.
>>
>>78234323
And so it was that as the Ercaenepolis general Pak Sun-Young travelled, a "natural" avalanche from the nearby mountain would isolate him from his men. This occurrence was caused through clever manipulation of the earth by a Soukan mage hidden in a nearby cave and as the general was momentarily isolated from aid a group of Amazon and Satyr skirmishers dashed out from hidden crevices and made quick work of the poor man. The Amazons and Satyrs then fled deep into the mountain passes as the wyverns and honor guard accompanying the general gave chase. Their chase however would lead them into the open fangs of the 84th Field Artillery regiment "Zeupiter's Thunderers" as their dragon killer ballista which were stationed in waiting fired off a salvo into the hearts of the wyverns striking them down and the cannon crew shot up the furious guard in a firefight between the two. The assassination had been a success and the Seventh Host of Ten Thousand Spears captained by Senior Field Marshal Paios Flavius was awaiting orders to send the 21st Aerial Squadron and the 14th Hoplite Company through the pass alongside his personal force of Bronze Boar riders, one of which he was riding himself as a remnant of his days as a Sparathan mounted captain. The orders would have to wait however as back home a turbulent situation was unfolding among the Grand Senate House in Athiens where a war council with representatives from each city-state had been called. The city of Delphus was refusing to send any of its mages to assist in the incursion out of anger for the captured mages who were under their jurisdiction being held captive without any prior warning. They even refused to heed the warnings of Dimitar threatening a revolt against the other city-states if they were made to send their forces to assist in the assault. Infighting at such a vital point in time was clearly going to be the undoing of this whole venture meaning the point was grudgingly conceded.

By this point the city-states could spare no time arguing amongst themselves as precious time was being lost every minute and all city-states who were not opposed to the war dispatched large chunks of their own armies to the border marking the beginning of the incursion. By now the colonial government of Ercaenepolis had received notice of the assassination via messenger monkey and had gone into full alert to prevent this invasion. The mountain passes had been heavily fortified with the 245th Reinforced Gunners, the largest force available to the Ercaenmedians standing guard over the mountain passes confident that none of the outdated hoplites would ever get past their firing line. They were further backed up with the aid of four moving skycannons, the Ercaenepolis levy and the remnants of the 127th Wyvern Riders alongside several more regiments and led by newly promoted general Li Bao taking the place of their deceased general. The Soukans had learned from what little their surviving Satyr scouts who hid in the mountains could view of the enemy army that the Ercaenmedians were using a massive entrenched line of gunners covering every possible mountain pass as their primary strategy alongside wyverns surveying the peaks. They had already intercepted several attempted skirmishes by necromancers and battle mages sent by the Ercaenepolis Mage Academy using a firing line of their own, the renowned Fonias-Pattern Repeater Crossbowmen sent from Athiens meaning that their enemy was anticipating an attempted mountain crossing. Such a thought process would be only natural for the Ercaenmedians, however they didn't know Rinolsol like the Soukans did. This island was their homeland and they knew of a secondary method of traversing the mountains, albeit a far riskier one that would be difficult to pull off even if the crossing was successful. The Labyrinths.
>>
>>78235237
If one was to successfully traverse that eldritch maze they would find themselves right behind the open lines of the gunners and with a bit of luck cut a wound through the line before getting cut down by the melee infantry. Enough of a wound that the main hoplite force would get enough time to head through the passes and destroy the remnants of the firing line with their enchanted weapons and far superior skill. As such the legendary Craetan beastmaster Lynceus Baros was chosen and given this quest. To cross the maze and break the line even if she'd almost certainly perish in the endeavor, either in the labyrinth or against the Ercaenmedians. A great military parade was held in honor of her sacrifice around the nearest entrance into the labyrinth as the warriors of Soukos watched with bated breath as she, alongside her battle hydra and enslaved medusa descended into the maze. Her exact fate is unknown from that point onwards but from what can be gathered, she travelled across the convoluted paths that are the labyrinths and encountered a series of trials, perhaps tests by the Soukan gods to prove her worth and whether their children were might enough to deserve their favor in this engagement? Whatever the result is, from what the prisoners of war taken from the Ercaenepolis militia answered when questioned on what happened in the tense period of waiting that occurred as the beastmaster travelled the labyrinths state is that from seemingly out of nowhere a haggard looking yet furious warrior emerged victorious as a hydra suddenly charged into the lines of the reinforced gunners tearing through the poor souls. The firing lines were devastated by this surprise attack as any wyverns who tried to swoop down and help were turned into stone statues by the baleful gaze of a medusa.

The hydra had wrought a deadly toll upon the Ercaenmedians that day with its multiple heads each chewing on a different soldier and charging body knocking them to the ground as they were trampled but eventually it was overwhelmed by the far greater numbers its enemies had with them. As the hydra fell both the beastmaster and the remaining medusa fought till the end as they were surrounded and eventually slain with the medusa in particular closing the distance between the Ercaenmedians skycannons with horrific speed before they could turn and fire slicing them and their crew apart with its bloodthirsty halberd. The Soukan forces on the other side of the pass were quickly notified of these events through their scouts hidden across the mountains and believing that in these actions their gods were with them charged forwards through the pass as the shields of their hoplites blocked the remaining bullets from the gunners. The Ercaenmedians didn't cede this position easily though as many boulders were rolled down into groups of hoplites crushing them and mages fired down with magic spells riding wyverns above that in turn would be shot down. The forces of the republic did not turn back nor fear in the end as they managed to pour through the pass and engaged the remaining warriors in melee combat as the tide was slowly turning in their favor. During the madness of the battle general Li Bao was said to have died in a duel against Soukan general Onamakritos the sky-master, destroyed under the treads of the pegasus chariot the general gained his title for. By this point Blackadder pass and the surrounding mountain passes had been seized by the Soukos Republic with the remaining militia resorting to guerilla tactics and skirmishes as they waited for reinforcements to arrive. No matter their numbers, the main advantage the Ercaenmedians had throughout this battle of having fortified the mountains had been lost and every minute new Soukan troops were coming through.
>>
>>78235984
By this point the city-states had chose to send in their main armies now that the most challenging aspect of the invasion was over and the main Ercaenmedian force shattered. A few monster tribes had been sent as auxiliaries to stop the Soukans on their way to the capital but by this point the Ercaenmedians had gone into full damage control. Knowing that their main army and strategy had been bested they instead chose to go on with their original goal and evacuated their civilians and important leaders alongside their remaining soldiers/mages to serve as Ercaenmedian reinforcements in the war back in Autia. They might have lost the colony today but their remaining forces, of which a respectable amount of mages had survived would surely turn the tide in the war. The Soukans arrived at the gates of their former cities colonized by the Ercaenmedians but found that the remaining population had fled. Extremely confused, they set to making a garrison inside the cities which would soon be restored as city-states as part of these lands now belonging to Soukos alone. The Ercaenmedian fleet dispatched from Ercaenepolis met quite an unfortunate fate while sailing to their homeland as they had encountered the Soukan reinforcements who had also been sent at around the same time (this isn't out of nowhere, I checked and apparently Soukan reinforcements are coming and I thought I'd have the two meet) as the two immediately tried to get an estimate on the size of each other's fleets. Both had similar numbers of men and ships with the Ercaenmedians sending 200 war junks and 50 ironclads while the Soukans had 150 neo-triremes and 5 sea-forts. The two sides have currently engaged in naval combat with the outcome being unclear.

Most of their lore is back on the 3rd thread. Basically it was a former Alkor colony taken by Belkan, but then became somewhat independent even though Belkan still treated it like a colony. It is apparently a popular tourist spot, trade hub, and mercenary gathering place.

Originally it was supposed to be the one country Belkan never attacked, and during an initial invasion by Soukos, Belkan and Ercaenmedia launched a counter invasion. But this was later retconned, and Belkananon retconned his own lore so that Belkan would attack its own former colony. That roll resulted in a stalemate, but during the weird clusterfuck of rolls earlier in this thread, Belkor won a bunch of territory, then lost it, or something, I kind of stopped paying attention.
>>

The territory it won was just Ercaenmedia anon misunderstanding something which was pointing out so the map was changed again.

>>78236363
I’d say you don’t have to as I checked and the Soukan reinforcements have already been said to be coming so we can just say they won the naval battle and removed the last Ercaenmedian reinforcements who aren’t mercenaries unless Ercenadhorn sends its army south leaving its lands open for the Belkans and Ogrillons to take over. Plus the Ogrillons are gonna attack and maybe destroy it soon so it probably can’t afford to send its army away.

Go ahead anon. Roll for Soukos and I'll roll for Ercaenmedia and we can fluff it out.

Nicsenor anon here, I wanted to ask whether anyone has answered the prompt for diplomatic vessels from the combined southern elf fleet (Sartyrians and Nicsenoreans I mean) showing up on the shores of many nations across the world as I haven’t checked. I also wanted to ask how many nations know about who these elves are and the differences from other elves. I know Belkan learned about the Sartyrians from the Ogrillons but I’m fairly sure the other Nantic states don’t know about them. Same could be said for the races from Lapus, Flickfowl (eastern and northern half, the golems probably know about them) and Tismo. Everyone near and on Kraurrah knows about them and I think I read that Soukos repelled an attempted invasion from the Sartyrians a long time ago but one of their city-states got razed for a while until it was rebuilt but the others in Rinolsol and Sorgos nations probably have forgotten about them from isolation. Of course if you do want to have a race that doesn’t know about the southern elves do something in context of knowing who they are feel free to add some lore on how they recognize the elves or their reactions even if they don’t know them, this is just me recapping some things I remember.
>>
>>78239194
Probably a handful of Lapus Elves would be interested in joining just to try something new, but a lot of other elves like the swamp elves, fairy elves, and arctic elves seem kind of isolationist. Not sure about the sea elves or desert elves.

The Eannites would do two things.

First, it seems the Mage-Priests somehow knew of the incoming fleet. The military of Temple Island is mobilized in advance, setting to sea around the island. The fleet is of notable size when considering the size of the island. The sails of their ships shimmer as if they are alight in purple flames, while thunder and lightning rage on the peaks of island in view behind them. The fleet probably isn't large enough to really threaten the combined elves and their insane ships, but it could probably do some damage. Really, the fleet is a bit of a show of force as a deterrent, but also a "just in case" measure in the event that the elves do attack.

Second, the Eannites would send a small group of ships as envoys and extend an invitation to escort a single ship to the island to establish trade and to hear the knowledge of Ean-Deag-Bor. The priests of the island seem to know something of the elves but are a bit distant, behaving more formal than friendly.

In the southern parts of the Union lays the Thounguka Valley, famous for it's vertical mountains, warm climate and its ever present fog. A small but unfathomably wealthy town named Nomkon resides between these mountains, this town is home to the notorious witch hunter clan known as the Nanka-Saki. It is a place where some of the wealthiest Union Elites come to visit and hang out with each other.
>>
>>78241668
Now, the elves would probably try and make the best of the situation after seeing their fleet mobilized. Firstly they’d probably give a few gifts to their leaders to deescalate the situation like inlaid jewels shining even in the dark, a new suit of armor made from mithril, that sort of thing. Because remember, they’re here to show that they want to peacefully talk things out first and trade and not make enemies. Now the elves do have diviners of their own as one of their mages, very good ones two given the time it takes for an elf to be properly considered good at divining by their standards is about two centuries so sending in a single shop where it could be surrounded is most likely a bad idea. Something strange is afoot so they’d probably ask to let a few ships travel to the island instead bringing some of their largest ones just in case of the offer is accepted.

Ok now hear me out, a nation of trolls in southeast Tismo. The ones in the south live in a swamp and are swamp trolls, the ones in the north live in a forest and are mushroom trolls who grow fungi and get high on it and the ones on the little islands are brine trolls who can swim around. All of these tribes hate each other for some stupid misremembered myth that took place long ago. They all are good friends with a local race of sealmen though and each vie to get the seals on their side.

Alkorians would probably be shutting their pants and shadowing the Elves with their own ships.
>>
>>78245243
Lol, poor British dudes. The elves are currently just wandering about looking for friends.

>>78240422
Having made the desert elves I believe most of them would be willing to come along as most of them are mercenaries looking for adventure so anything that lets them easily see the world for free would be accepted. From what I can gather the sea elves are dicks so they won't come along as they live underwater and raid. Arctic elves and Jhazai might be met at a later point but for now they're too far away to immediately be met. Some more adventurous half-elves might come along but they might not, who really knows when it comes to those halfbloods. The valkyrie elves probably have nothing better to do in between bringing souls to the afterlife so some might come along. The swamp elves and fairy elves you mentioned definitely won't want to come though. Most of them are either extremely isolationist or malicious and unwilling to leave their woods.

I am aware the anon who was posting these will make more of these but they're all perfect for the fire constructs made by Sartyrian. The elven soldiers, cavalry, mages and their dragons alongside whatever other normal warbeasts they have on them typically serve more as elite shock troops while their fire constructs comprise their main army. Each are quite durable owing to their nature as not exactly natural and can tear through a crowd even if you don't factor in their inherent power of fire. The Sartyrians can produce these terrifying creatures en masse as long as they have a large enchanted flame near them where they shape these monsters in based on whatever type of climate and kind of war they're in and release them to battle accordingly leading to the constant massive numbers and strength of their military adaptable to just about any situation. The largest of these elementals take about an hour to produce each, 6 hours if it's one of the particularly large ones which are notoriously hard to keep in control but the ones shown on this list are more of their standard troops minus the first one.

>>78244967
Scalding Imp, uses its flaming sickles made of pure fire to perform assassinations and slice through the plate armor of mortal warriors.

>>78244979
Inferno Knight, a heavy and slow but extremely durable warrior that's one of their more common construct due to a variety of uses it can perform. Their flaming blade and tower shield are terrifying to behold for anyone chosen as a mark by this creature.

Well we've got a couple of individual wars going on which I'll list off.

The big one in Autia: Belkan + Soukos vs Ercaenmedi + Alkor
From what I can tell ended up as a Belkan-Soukos victory by an extremely narrow margin.

I read that The Union might try and attack Sostenfiel because they're planning to do some meddling in Tismo and the Khanate might get involved while both sides are weak so that might happen

On the topic of the Khanate they're probably gonna invade the C.L.H.C at one point.

Xiklik incursion against the gnomes at one point maybe?

Yr is fighting Dright in Lapus over mining rights but has made a sci fi giant tank as a superweapon that's about elven dragon tier strength for an invasion of Nantes I think.

Harlbourg is recovering from an Aesanaerian attack but might try and attack Alkor as they've sent a portion of their homeland army out to fight in the great war in the west.

Sartyrians fought the Nicsenoreans (which I'm still not sure will ever get written by the anon who said he would) ending up in the Sartyrians continent being destroyed by the World Flame leading to the elves finally making peace and heading north to search for other elves and the ones corrupted by the World Flame creating a powerful nation of flame daemons that's at least Yr levels of daemonic strength (probably more because of World Flame cheese with Yr having more tech to make up for it).

Nothing much is happening in southern Autia but in Flickfowl the Second Empire is trying to invade the rest of the continent and as such having a war with the Sultanate. Belkan might come in at some point to to help as they've been confirmed to be descendants of the Miqdaadites I'm pretty sure. Oh and the sky-lords have used the Second Empire army being away to their advantage to invade the place through destroying key strategic point with demigod statues of their gods being made with magical materials from an anomaly in Flickfowl that's making parts of it like the Eldr to help.
>>
>>78248205
I'll head over there after this.

>>78248267
My point is that there is no shortage of conflicts going on but the main issue is tying them together. There could be a couple ways to tie the plots of some conflicts together like Harlbourg showing up to attack Alkor during the Ercaenmedian war and once that nation has been overrun Alkor will notice what's going on and head back home while Belkan may also try and use this opportunity to do something else we can make up related to this narrative. Alongside that we could shift the focus of the wars Yr is in back to Autia with their original rivalry with Nantes. Dright could still be involved in their war however, as they could set out to try and aid Nantes in battling Yr so they can get rid of the threat at its root. The wars in Tismo are tough to really tie in to the greater narrative but serve as something for the Union to get involved in, though it could also try and push into the Nantic states during this time on its western half. The allied southern elf fleet having showed up in Autia might be an important plot point and it lets them get involved with the larger narrative as well.
