you are correct in that they take place partially during the late Victorian Era, as parts of Tarzan's childhood after being taken in by his father's killer, Kerchak, are elaborated upon. it easy enough to adapt the "wild man" for the needs of this thread and honestly >>82485040

keeping said wild man a wild child would be a nice nod to Tarzan's canonical timeline.

also consider: an aging Paul Bunyan, a long way from home.

A Veteran Soldier of one of Britain's numerous Colonial Conflicts, like the Opium Wars, Anglo-Zulu War or (if you want it really late Victorian) the Boxer Rebellion, that is still haunted by the things he did and the sights he's seen during his service, and is not quite accustomed to civilian life yet, but was roped into the party due to circumstances out of his control.

You can only see a Chinese warrior torn to shreds by grapeshot, a Zulu Impi still furiously charging at your line after riddled with bullets, or another British soldier, like yourself, screaming for his mother, a javelin in his gut, so many times before your psyche starts to show cracks, and this man has seen some shit.

The communists and anarchists could get a head start by digging up graves to make their ideal new men, capitalists can have a new labor force that doesn't form unions, and that's without even considering what might happen if some smarter ones decide to go their own way.

Also possibly Cixi the Empress Dowager, though she rarely held meetings in person (usually speaking to people behind a curtain in the throne room)
Shaka Zulu
Abraham Lincoln

As an NPC: Count Eric Stanislaus Stenbock, "a Baltic Swedish poet and writer of macabre fantastic fiction. [ . . . . ]
In Oxford, Stenbock also converted to Roman Catholicism taking for himself the name Stanislaus. Some years later Eric also admitted to having tried a different religion every week in Oxford. At the end of his life, he seemed to have developed a syncretist religion containing elements of Catholicism, Buddhism and idolatry. [ . . . . ]
Stenbock behaved eccentrically. He kept snakes, lizards, salamanders and toads in his room, and had a "zoo" in his garden containing a reindeer, a fox, and a bear. When he traveled, he invariably brought with him a dog, a monkey, and a life-sized doll. This doll he referred to as "le Petit Comte" ("the little Count") and told everyone that it was his son; he insisted it be brought to him daily, and—when it was absent—he asked about its health. (Stenbock's family believed an unscrupulous Jesuit had been given large amounts of money by the Count for the "education" of this doll.)"

Darwin wasn't racist? Im pretty sure he was pro eugenicist and said that other things where inheritable like morality and mental traits and should be promoted.

I mean. he wasnt "Kill all brownpeople" meme racist, but he most surely was in a more nuanced way.

>>82491831

Thats what I said. And I dont think a racist necessarily has to be inherently genocidal to be so. Its distinguishing between racial groups in an antagonistic or preferential way.
And he was pretty blunt about the merits of different peoples in general. For example the >mental faculties and moral propriety of these people are ____
And I think its a little suspect to not exactly see the connection between eugenics and racism.
>>82493328
He literally was a founding figure of eugenics.
And I am not saying eugenics is necessary a bad or good thing.
>>82491102
>Social darwinism.
Do you have your terms mixed up? Isnt that different from racism? isnt that the statement that people in society function along a darwinian line of reproductive success? Like, it would apply to groups that are the same race as well. Isnt it more randian/libertarian?

The Count of Monte Cristo as an old man would make a based as fuck quest giver or antagonist for a Victorian game.

Given his impossibly vast fortune and wide array of connections throughout the criminal underworld and political elite of Europe, he'd have ended up being like a sort of George Soros like figure in the 1860s.
