So, who (in-world) decides the Thirteen Wonders/Horrors of the world? Is it the Citadel of Hithlone? If so, that'd explain why they'd add their own institute there.

Gonna add 2 world wonders and one world Horror:

> World Wonder - the Pyramids of Ibidrza
A collection of ancient burial sites of the Khenomeric Pharaohs located slightly north of the former Khenomeric and current Gnoll Empire. During ancient times all 4 schools of magic cooperated together.

The green mages hnadled the grand hanging gardens surrounding the pyramids (now gone), the black mages handled the undead Terakotta and Mummy armies which would guard the pharaohs and the white mages handled the construction. Believing that the stars are the path to the next them they lined up each grand pyramid to line up with a star and linked them together to create a path of ascensions for the dead monarchs to the next step.

To the astromancers it is a great loss that they can no longer go visit the pyramids as they are said to be built along the principles of "the purest astromancy".

> World wonder 2 - The Dance Hall of the First Werewolf King

It is said that the Ketlovians were not always werewolves rather werewolves were shunned, but one day a Ketlovian King fell in love with a woman who was one who seduced him during a dance in the Royal banquette hall. Since then the ketlovian kings would pick their brides during a masked dance in the banquette hall. The old palace slowly was consumed and the Dance hall only expanded making the celebration increasingly grand each day. The last truly great dance (pre gnoll conquest) is said to have has nearly 400 000 attendants coming in and out and have lasted 2 weeks where the King picked the daughter of a traveling Tenzin merchant as his bride.

The Dance hall is now abandoned as that is where the 'wedding' between the King's daughters and the Gnoll emperor took place. The Last Werewolf King has locked down the grand building treating it more as a tomb than anything else, while gone mad one of the only orders he coherently spouts is the complete ban of entry into the Dance Hall... even demanding it destroyed a few

times. An order his advisors pretended not to hear...

> World Horror - The Ogabo Bubbling Demon-pit

It is said that in ancient times a demonic breach occurred near the west of the Ogabo desert, but the land was home to grand mages at the time. The mages forced the breach deep underground and used now lost magic to suck out the demons by force pulling them trough piles of spikes, swords and barbed wire insilled in the pile. Looking in the pile looks like bubbling red liquid from under which you hear mumbled screams. Usually just drops of liquid and sand are shot down from the pit, but rarely wore limbs and horns from some sort of demons. The 'liquid' of the demon pit is able to turn any being it is injected into into a demonic creature changing it fundamentally... maybe that too was part of the ancient magic embedded into it.

It'd be nice if a consistent picture was used in the OP I sometimes am gone from the threads for a few days and it's easier to find if the op picture is always the same.

it is a wonder, but not of this world

the big rock candy mountains refer to the mountain range, they aren't actually made of candy, it's just what they're called as a reference to the song.
I also never said I was voting for the mountains themselves, but the utopia that lies hidden within the mountain.
just remember that the Big rock candy mountains are not mountains made out of candy, but an idea, a paradise just beyond the ridge where water tastes just like the sweetest wine.

A new World Horror

> Oneiroia, the Dreaming City

When a person is denied rest for too long, on a clear night they will see it shimmering on the horizon. The Dreaming City stands impossibly tall, an incomprehensible mass of geometric shapes and half-formed buildings, lit brightly enough to seemingly turn night to day. The witness is drawn to it, though no matter the distance they travel, the City remains just as far away as it ever was.
Next time they sleep, they will dream of the City. They walk its streets, speak to its citizens, explore its buildings. And yet they wake up screaming, a sense of wrongness and primal terror filling their body.
They will never dream again.

the history for the big rock candy mountain is basically that a bunch of people claim to have the ruins of some hidden utopia there all calling it different things(arcadia, Zion, Shangri-La, Eldorado, Cockaigne, etc...) and now the landscape is just filled with ancient ruins, underground labyrinths, and an intense magical field making it near unnavigable and dangerous

An idea for a tentative wonder

>The blue palace of Zur-Bashapar, East Dsrvyth

The blue palace, original name being the great house of Azsha-Elysson, is a complex of more than 7000 rooms, 5 manned walls and has the higher bell towers of all dsrvyth. Originally built by Nar-Bashapar 613 years ago, it has been expanded since by the ruling dinasties. It is famous for its blue ceramic tiles, covering the inner dome and surrounding towers. As the original name suggest, it houses the largest regional shrine to the prophet and it receives pilgrimage from all over the region.

As the original story goes, after the raze of the city of Uvmada, king Nar was seeing the burned houses, when he saw a widow holding a charred, broken pot, picking water from a fountain. The king asked the widow, why do you carry such useless thing? The widow then said to the king, “this old vase is burned by wooden fire and carries little water, but you who slay the followers of Azsha for glory, how will you resist the fire that burns rock and stone?” And Nar knew fear, as he was in the presence of a holy. “This pot is your kingdom who is burned, and so it is your body. This water is the faith, and who will hold it now that you’ve made it useless?”

So shocked by the revelation, the king spent a year in reclusion, after which he ordered the construction of a great house, calling architects from all over Erthea. The construction lasted 57 years, by them the city was an important trading hub and the palace complex was slowly built around it.

The house contains a fountain made of nacre, several paintings made in exquisite tile art and what is said to be a piece of the original pot above the main side altar.

The palace itself is renowned for the size of its walls, its blending of southern and steppe architecture and the blue tiles present all over it, giving it its name. It is located on modern Uvmada, and its capture is one of the most desired goals of the kingdom of Susar.

Mossovoy

>History

The Vzdoruye of Mossovoy descend from worshippers of the dark god Zanzarah in the Zapalovah Republic. The practice of necromancy and other forbidden rituals had gotten the Magisters of Zapalovah worried, and after a series of clashes within the Republic most of the Vzdoruye were forced to flee.

Making their way south of Zapalovah's borders, they founded a town, calling it Mossovoy. Initially, this town was small, and as the Vzdoruye's numbers began to grow, reports of necromancer activity sprouted up in the neighboring Kingdom of Waldemaria. Knowing that their fate would not be any different than it was in Zapalovah, the Vzdoruye decided to expand their city underground, hidden from the public eye. And thus, the "Hidden City" of Mossovoy was born.

Lacking fresh bodies for use in agriculture and mining, the Vzdoruye necromancers turned their eyes to the south, towards the Cursed Battlefield. It was there where they were able to amass large numbers of corpse to use as manual labour.

Mossovoy started expanding, and so did their followers. Some in Waldemaria started worshipping Zanzarah in secret, something that was not taken lightly by its ruler. Tension rose between them, but it took them almost a hundred years to begin their clashes. The Waldemarians, fearing the Vzdoruye and their foul god, ordered his riders to attack any patrol they saw.

Those skirmishes soon turned out into full blown out war, with the Vzdoruye enlisting undead swamp and manskin ogres into their undead army. Soon, the Waldemarians broke the stallmate and switched to the offensive.

The Waldemarian cavalry was marching in the plains north of Needle Ridge, hoping to flank and eliminate a band of undead creatures, headed by their sorcerer generals.
>>
>>85080528
What initially seemed like a victorious battle was quickly shattered at the sound of a wicked horn. King William Merriman II of Waldemaria himself turned his head to the source of the noise noise, which sounded like taunting, sadistic laughter. Another army had enroached them from the south, beyond the Glass Mountains. And there the Vzdoruye unveiled their ultimate weapon.

The King quickly abandoned all hopes of victory at the sight of two hulking giants, a race that was ancient even to the great grandfathers of his great grandafthers. How they came he didn't know, but what he did know was that those were not living creatures. Almost as tall as 20 men in height, the giants were cladded in chainmail and iron, their armor and skin covered in burning scars and cuts. Under their helmets, their skeletal eyes were growing red.

Undead Giant

Clutching giant spiked clubs the giants marched in unison. The earth beyond them shook as they advanced towards the Riders of Waldemar. The men were shocked, ready to flee. But King William ordered them to stand their ground and face their fears. The Waldemarians fought fiercefully against the Vdzoruye. Their archers, combined with the lances of the riders, managed to fell down a giant, his skull crushing more than 10 ogres in its wake. Defeat finally came when the last remaining giant grabbed King William's horse, crushing it under his palm as if it were a fly.

The Waldemarians were defeated. The two survivors spoke of the horrors they encountered, and from that day Waldemaria was no more. The Vzdoruye were finally free of the Waldemarian raids, but that was not the end of their woes.

Knights from the far East had made their land to the west of the Land of the Windmills. When the Vdzoruye had thought that they had finished one enemy, one more rose up. The Laurentian Crusaders quickly built many great fortresses, vowing to rid the world of the dark lords.
>>
>>85080565
Many people from Waldemaria and the Land of the Windmills joined the cause of Lorentz and his knights. The fortresses were brimming with crusaders, all willing to finish the work started by the Waldemarians.

Many great sorcerers fell in battle against those fierce crusaders. The first years of the crusade, when Lorentz was still alive, were particularly for the Vzdoruye.

Now, it's been more than 30 years since the Battle of the Needle Ridge, and the opportunities for reinforcements of their army and working force have gotten sparce for the Vzdoruye. They now have to travel through the Waldemarian lands, who have gotten even more merciless and fierceful than they were when they were united under a King.

They continue to patrol their lands, with the shadow of war looming ever larger and larger...
>>
>>85080718
I've also written this section of history in slight contrast to the Waldemarian entry. Both sides describe each other as villainous, with the Vzdoruye claiming they were attacked first, while the Waldemarians claim that the Vzdoruye trespassed their lands looking for fresh corpses.
>>
I demand giant burrowing Lindwurms. Flightless Dragons that live in the Underdark and help expand the Underdark.

In desert regions they are frequently hunted by giant sand worms.

Lichen knights are a rare sight in the world of Giantstep. They are said to be the result of the Great War that created the lands of the Cursed Battlefield, them hiding in terror as the magnitude and horror of that fight crept in in the hearts of many of even the most valerous knights at the time. As a curse for failing their vows, they are now cursed to protect the forests they ran away in. Their armour rusted by the passage of time, and covered in plantlife, they are unable to die, their defeat only a temporary reprief of eternal servitude. They patrol certain areas of the world's forests, usually highly magical ones, or areas with great significance, although it's been reported sightings of lichen knights at seemingly random places. They will charge silently at those who harbour in their heart any kind of thought against the forests, their skills as sharp as they were in life. Even as undead, they are seemingly immune to the control of necromancers, which has led to the speculations of them not really being undead, but rather forest spirits holding the soul of the knight attached to the mortal remains for all eternity.
>>
>>85091773
>It's why I proposed the idea of having the gods be faith based, caused it reflects how the canon works, where it only becomes canon if you believe it so
Except that won't really work as some of the gods are jerks and can mess around with people despite the fact that no large group of people wants them to be jerks
>>

the gods only have to be believed in to be true, they don't have to like them.

>the gods only have to be believed in to be true

>>
>>85092092
exactly, then they aren't really gods, but more magical apparitions.
I do think there should be some will to power based magic running throughout the world though.
>>
>>85092142
Having strong will power would be pretty important for both divine type spellcasters and most other types of magic.

But the whole "a bunch of fanatics believe in x, therefore x manifests" is pretty overused by settings like 40k and TES. I guess we can have some of those types of gods if people want, but most of the gods made so far for this setting seem only answerable to themselves.

>Society

The Vzdoruye are an inherently isolationist people whose culture is dominated by a strict hierarchy and an overriding religious zeal. Their culture is highly suggestive of extreme male chauvinism; since only males can be sorcerers, flesh sculptors or hold positions of power.

The Mossovoy are ruled by the Nine Pridvestniks. They constitute the most powerful and important of the Vzdoruye sorcerers. They are viewed as divine messengers, carrying the word of God. They are the ones responsible for the external relations between Mossovoy and the other nations.

Below them are the Masters. The masters are also the high priests of Zanzarah and are usually either necromancers or flesh sculptors. Most Masters aim to hold the title of Pridvestnik at one point, although the title of Pridvestnik seldom passes from one individual to another, thanks to their longevity.

The Vzdoruye males that do not practice magic hold administrative or economical positions, or pursue a career in academics or arts. Seldom will a Vzdoruye male have to work in the fields or in the mines, since such tasks are carried out by the undead, who act as the Vzdoruye's obedient mules. For that reason, Vzdoruye families rarely have more than two children each. Only during the long wars between Waldemaria and the Laurentian crusaders was the undead force thin enough for many males to pursue manual labour out of necessity.

The females in the Vzdoruye society are usually either part of the female clergy, or perform many of their housekeeping duties, such as knitting, raising children and cooking.

>Culture and Religion

The Vzdoruye worship Zanzarah, the god of life, death and rebirth. His worship is now outlawed in the Zapalovah Republic and is considered a taboo in Zemylandian cultures. The Vzdoruye focus on their efforts on the pursuit of spiritual elevation through physical refinement and the mastery of the cycle of life and death.

Both males and females in Mossovoy are required to wear a dark-coloured cloak that reveals only their hands and parts of the face.

>Some common/famous creatures and wild races in the west:

>Bugbear
- Size – 7 feet tall.
- Diet – Omnivorous. They will eat anything. Some tribes seem to prefer the meat of sentient beings.
- Origin – Believed to be vaguely related to other fey/fairy type creatures.
- Status – Sentient, but their hostility to other sentient races means they are usually treated as monsters.
- Territory – It is believed they were once more widespread, but their hostility to other races has let them to be reduced to a few scattered pockets, far from major nations of civilized folk. They are most common in Orc’eire and the Drow City-States, where many have been assimilated into those cultures.

>Crystalid
- Size – Can grow 30 feet wide.
- Diet – Unclear.
- Origin – Unknown if they are native to this world, or come from other planes. The most common theory is they come from deep beneath the surface.
- Status – Non sentient. Seen as monsters due to their destructive tendencies. Unclear why they come to the surface to wreck havoc.
- Territory – Can appear anywhere, but are extremely rare. Most commonly encountered in drow territory.
(see wiki page)

>Demon, Flame
- Size – Varies greatly depending on sub-type.
- Diet – None, though perhaps indirectly nourished by heat and/or suffering.
- Origin – Demonic. Usually Servants of Infernus the Volcano God, but other sources are known to exist. Can be summoned to this world by worshippers of Infernus, or certain skilled mages. Also sometimes naturally appear near volcanoes.
- Status – Sentient, though rarely is there much evidence of this.
- Territory – Most commonly encountered near volcanoes in drow territory, or on the Island of the Volcano God, but could appear anywhere where someone is able to summon and bind them.

- Territory – Could appear anywhere where summoned, but the highest concentrations are around the breaches near Witch-Elf territory.

>Drider
- Size – 10 feet tall, 16 feet long.
- Diet – Meat. They particularly like sentient flesh.
- Origin – Mostly associated with drow followers of Lolth. Created from drow as either a punishment or a reward. Similar creatures have been encountered in the southern jungles, it is unclear if they are related.
- Status – Sentient but typically live like animals unless still living among the drow.
- Territory – Mostly found near the Drow City-States. Some drider-like creatures have been encountered in the southern jungles.

>Dryad
- Size – 6 feet tall
- Diet – Unclear, but believed to be capable of a process similar to photosynthesis.
- Origin – Fey/Wild Spirit type creature. Some believe they are related to primal/wood elves.
- Status – Sentient, but feral. Their motives are poorly understood, but it seems they consider themselves guardians of certain patches of forest.
- Territory – Can be found anywhere with large, old growth forests or jungles, however, they are fairly rare. Several subspecies exist for pine forest, temperate forests, jungle, and the sunflower forest.

>Gibberling
- Size – 5 feet tall.
- Diet – Meat. Will eat sentient meat if available.
- Origin – Fey/wild spirit type creature. Perhaps created or summoned to this world to aid the fey races in ancient wars with the humans and dwarves.
- Status – Sentient, but obsessively cruel and hostile to other races. Use crude or looted weapons, and occasionally looted clothes and armor, but usually naked.
- Territory – Mostly found near the Baalps, where they live in dwarven ruins and occasionally raid the surface. Small tribes have been found living in shallow caves as far north as Mossovoy, and as far south as Daligrad, but it is rare for them to bypass The Great Hedge, or enter the Bog or Bayukmen territory

>Goblin, Cave:
- Size – 4 feet tall on average.
- Diet – Omnivorous. Mostly lives off fungi, vermin, and underground aquatic life, but can eat nearly anything if hungry enough.
- Origin – Believed to be vaguely related to other fey/fairy type creatures.
- Status – Sentient but typically either enslaved or living in semi-feral tribes. Although intelligent, their isolationist tendencies mean most have stone age technology and/or use scavenged items. Most tribes prefer to mind their own business, but their caves often become overcrowded over time, causing some to raid small communities or poach surface animals. As a result, some areas treat them like monsters. However, a few tribes are strongly pacifist and get along with their surface neighbors well enough.
- Territory – Cave Goblins dislike direct sunlight, and mostly live underground. They can be found in nearly every part of the world.

>Giant Magpie:
- Size – 5 feet tall, 10 feet long.
- Diet – Omnivorous. Prefer large fruits, eggs, vermin, and carrion.
- Origin – Most likely natural, but some hints of fey origin.
- Status – Non sentient. Generally harmless away from nesting grounds, but dangerous near nesting grounds.
- Territory – Can be found in most places around the world in small numbers except large deserts, badlands, ashlands, oceans, or glaciers. However, their nesting grounds are in a region south of Oront.

>Harpy:
- Size – 5 feet on average.
- Diet – Mostly fish, but some small animals and birds as well. A few tribes are known to hunt large animals, and even sometimes sentient beings.
- Origin – Unclear. Most believe them to be a type of fey, but there are some stories of them descending from people cursed by a god.
- Status – Sentient, but often feral. Most harpy clans live like animals, and nearly all are violently territorial. Some clans reproduce by rape, which hasn’t helped their reputation either.
- Territory – There are several subspecies of harpy, and as a result they can be found in most places. Most harpy subspecies like mountainous or coastal areas, though at least two subspecies have adapted to deep jungle.

>Ogres:
- Size – 10 to 12 feet tall depending on subspecies.
- Diet – Omnivorous, but prefer meat. Some tribes prefer sentient meat.
- Origin – Likely fey origin, though some evidence points to some/all having demonic ancestry as well. Some believe they were created or summoned to this world to help in ancient wars.
- Status – Sentient (though some species barely so). Most subspecies have stone age technology at best unless enslaved to or allied with a more advanced race.
- Territory – Several subspecies exist. Three are mostly restricted to fairly small areas (manskin, horned, and peacock). However, the pale and swamp subspecies were scattered across a large portion of the continent, and have adapted to a wide range of terrain including badlands, ashlands, jungle, and underground.

>Siren, Jibaro:
- Size – 6 feet
- Diet – Unclear, never seen eating anything.
- Origin – Powerful fey/wild spirit. Believed to be immortal. Killing them is nearly impossible as anyone who gets to close falls under their sway. During better times, Azan used powerful mages to hunt them down, but these days the Jibaro wetlands aren’t seen as being worth the effort.
- Status – Sentient. Generally treated as monsters though as non-hostile encounters with them are rare. They seem to consider drowning sentient beings as their primary purpose.
- Territory – Mostly restricted to the Jibaro Wetlands, but have appeared in other western wetlands. Even in Jibaro they are very rare.
(see Jibaro wiki page)

>Spider, Giant Cave:
- Size – 8 feet long on average when adult, but occasionally get much larger.
- Diet – Meat.
- Origin – Likely natural, but some believe the drow brought them.
- Status – Non-sentient. Deeply hated for wrapping up sentient being in webs for later feasting. Some have even been known to implant eggs in trapped victims.
- Territory – Warm and temperate underground regions. Fairly rare except in jungles and drow territory.

- Diet – Meat, including humans and other sentient beings.
- Origin – Natural.
- Status – Non-sentient. Often culled by humans soldiers as they can be deadly to unprepared villagers.
- Territory – Large western swamps. Mostly the Stymphalian Swamps, but sometimes seen in the Jibaro and Daligrad provinces, and the western portions of Bog-Witch territory.

>Trolls:
- Size – 5 to 12 feet depending on subspecies.
- Diet – Mostly meat. Certain subspecies seem to particularly like the meat of sentient beings.
- Origin – Most likely some sort of fey/wild spirit. A few subspecies have been transplanted to areas outside their native range, and/or magically modified.
- Status – Sentient, (though most species barely so) but many subspecies behave like animals. Generally seen as monsters, though a few subspecies are borderline civilized.
- Territory – Several subspecies exist, each specializing in a wide range of terrains like swamps, jungle, mountains, badlands, or hills.

>Will-o-Wisp
- Size – Seemingly about a foot wide, but gets smaller as you get closer.
- Diet – Unclear.
- Origin – Believed by some to be a weapon created by the ancient fey.
- Status – Unclear. There has been no indication they are able to do anything other than lure people into swamps.
- Territory – Found mostly in western swamps. Fairly rare. The highest concentrations are in areas the bog-witches don’t want travellers, suggesting they have some influence over them.

- Territory – Several subspecies. Can be found in nearly any part of the world, including oceans, but overall very rare.

Nine-tenths of Mossovoy is said to be beneath underground, however, giving the city its nickname of the Hidden City. It's apparent above-ground size have led many to underestimate the true extent of Mossovoy. Long, sinister halls and giant arches decorate the underground, while the undead workers constantly expand the city so more temples and palaces can be carved out.

Swamp ogres were originally described as green and frog-like, while the pale ogres are white and kind of ghoulish. I know most people treat them as interchangeable, but I feel they should be two separate subspecies even if the pale ogres are more common in swamp ogre territories than swamp ogres are.

Doesn't matter to me, though some will fall into a grey area, like monsters who are sentient, but live basically like hostile animals, or creatures like undead or demons which can be sentient, but are often bound to the will of another.

The Dancing Curse has been a constant disease in Giantstep for as long as all races can remember. Those afflicted by it will start hearing a music they can't really describe, very softly at first, but in a couple of days, the patient will start noting physical pain due to the apparent loudness of the music, even though only those sick can hear it. They then will discover that moving erratically helps them aliviate the pain, thus appearing like dancing. At this stage, the curse will become contagious to those who get too close to the afflicted. There's been tales of entire cities enthralled by the mysterious music, all activity stopping in favour of this apparent mad dance. This will last until the afflicted person becomes physically exhausted and unable to move anymore, which it can take days. After that, the afflicted will fall asleep, and once they wake up, they won't be able to remember how the music went. Other than the physical exhaustion and the lost time, there seem to be no other negative effects of this curse.

I wrote some more lore about the cities of the Kingdom of Drunigzar.

>Tarracotennas.
Tarracotennas is the capital of the Kingdom of Drunigzar. It used to be the biggest fishing port in the kingdom, created during the time of nogarese rule to be an outpost to guard the coast for pirates. During the rule of Paolos II, it was quickly expanded to facilitate the docking and maintenance of the growing merchant fleet. Nowadays, it is one of the biggest and fast growing cities in the world, which has generated many areas of chaotic cityscape, with only the high vigilance of the Crown keeping it from twisting into disordered mess. It also holds the Royal Merchant House’s buildings and ships, heavily protected by the Royal Navy. Tarracotennas has become a massive metropolis, which has caused many problems, especially for supplying all the essential goods needed for living. While water seems to be relatively easy to find, due to the many underground reservoirs and the drunigs’ old customs to preserve and conserve rainwater, the lack of food is something more worrying, since the surrounding lands are just not fertile enough to feed the population. Thus, they require constant food shipments, and the city’s authorities have created massive storehouses, in case that the regular schedules somehow fail.

All the while, the contestants have to provide the resources needed to continue the voyage for themselves through trading and treasure hunting. This not only tests the seamen’s ability to sail the seas as fast as possible, but also they have to prove their ability to keep the ships in good condition and to obtain the resources to continue the voyage by trading around the world. News of their travels and their adventures will keep the population enthralled for the entire duration of the competition. The captains of the participating ships can become figures of admiration in the kingdom, and a successful captain will be highly sought after by all of the merchant houses, though the most frequent outcome is them being hired by the Royal Trading Company.

>North Rtega.
The city of North Rtega used to be the biggest pirate outpost in the land before nogarese forces pacified the land for the first time. The pirates had created a considerable infrastructure for their operations, so the nogarese authorities decided to create a city on top on the pirate colony. Many of its old population remained there, and thus the city kept a high rate of crime, with many unsavory and illegal activities taking place within their walls. Criminal organizations acted beneath the drunig authorities, who were incapable of stopping the growing rate of organized crime. During the Kingdom’s economic expansion, however, the many criminal houses saw a golden opportunity: while their ability to participate in trade activities was limited due to a lack of general confidence, the increasing rate of shipping brought thousands of sailors and merchants, many of those very open to a more unsavory way of life. Thus, the criminal underground grew rich from drug and human trafficking. To avoid problems with the authorities, the criminal houses decided to pool their resources to create great and elegant casinos and gambling houses, giving the city an aura of elegance and style to make the underground world less obvious. Nowadays, North Rtega is known throughout the world as the home of gambling and vice, frequented by both the highest nobility and fortunes in the world, and by the regular travelers, who will search for quick fortune and frequently end up ruined, penniless and kicked out of the city.

>History
The Kingdom of Ketlovia has stood as a nation for well over 5000 years, although it's people have only been werewolves for the last thousand years. It began when the Young King Ivan van Thraca threw a ceremony to celebrate his coronation in the royal banquette hall. There he became smitten with a woman who he began dancing with. Impressed by her dance the King proposed to her on the spot to which the young woman said yes. The ballroom erupted with cheering that then turned to howling as all the attendants began morphing into the shape of wolves. The young woman would later be revealed to be the daughter of a man King Ivan had killed for witchcraft when he was just a prince. The woman had sold her soul so she could attain power and get revenge on the Ketlovians. The King however was already enchanted by her magic and could not hold any hate towards her and she was able to leave the hall unharmed and disappear into the night. King Ivan would continue to host a ball every month hoping she would return and lift the curse. He also never took a wife, as he was still in love with her.

The crown then passed to Ivan's younger brother who adapted the masked ball event into an event each monarch would throw to find their queen, and if the prophecy is true one day the enchantress will return and lift the curse. Since then each king has kept up the tradition and found their wife in a the Ketlovian Masked Ballroom Dance, an event hundreds of thousands would eventually travel to see.

>People
The Ketlovians aka Werewolfmen all carry the curse of the enchantress, and it is said anyone born on land ruled by House Thraca will be subject to the curse. This is disputed however and some scholars suggest it is genetic where if one parent carries the curse their child will have a high chance to carry it as well. The Curse causes all Ketlovians to take the form of a wolf or wolf-human hybrid when they begin to feel strong emotions. Some, like the royal family of House Traca, can control this and can choose when to morph. Ketlovians are polyamorous although they each only take 1 spouse. This leads to Ketlovians having many children, something often mocked by those outside the nation, alongside their wolfish appearance.

>Gnoll Conquest
The Gnoll Empire had been gaining strength for some time and had pushed itself all the way to the Ketlovian borders. Minor skirmishes between the forces of King Ivan XVII van Thraca and the Gnoll Empire had been going on for some time and it seemed they were getting more frequent. Knowing the ferocity of the Empire, King Ivan XVII offered the Emperor one of his daughters for Marriage. The Emperor declined and counter offered a marriage to all of them. King Ivan XVII had nearly 200 children through his many affairs, 112 being daughters. King Ivan begrudgingly agreed and the wedding was set to take place in the Capital of Ketlovia in the dance hall. The Gnoll Emperor arrived in the finest Royal Attire and the dance began, moments before the ceremony was complete the Gnoll Envoy that had arrived dropped their royal attire to reveal armor and weapons and began slaughtering everyone. The Emperor did the same and had his 112 brides mass executed in what some have called a sacrificial ritual that became known as "The Last Dance".
>>
>>85111767
It is considered a somewhat renegade province of Azan.
>>
>Gnoll Conquest Part 2
King Ivan barely escaped with his life back to his castle and declared war as soon as he made it through the castle doors. Heartbroken at the loss of all his daughters he was determined to make the Emperor pay. The war raged for 10 years and saw many losses on both sides put due to the sheer number of fighters the Gnolls had they eventually pushed the Ketlovians all the way back to their capital. When all seemed hopeless for Ketlovia, The Gnoll Emperor fell back, leaving a small force to hold the border. Many were suprised by this, The Emperor had never stopped a conquest before but whether through pity or a want to toy with King Ivan "the Least" the Gnolls had stopped their invasion.

King Ivan "the Least" now remains the leader of the Ketlovian Slavestate as it is called by outsiders, barking orders to his remaining advisors and court. It seems as though he has gone mad as he has recently been calling "War Councils" to try and reclaim the land that was lost, something his advisors grow worried about, and look towards a successor who may be more stable.

>Setlovia and the Successors
When the Gnolls reached the gates of the capital many Ketlovians took it as a sign to run and made their way past the Lands of the Runaan to forge a new land. The Runaan took many a Ketlovian prisoner during their trek through the lands. These prisoners are now used as labor for the Runaan. Those that made it through however settled in what would become the "Setlovian Freestate" a successor empire to the once great Kingdom of Ketlovia. Setlovia is however currently embroiled in a civil war with 3 main sides, those of the eastern pocket who have converted to the Faith of The Maw to please the native Peacock Ogres, those who wish to reclaim Ketlovia and those who wish to stay and build up Setlovia. Those who wish to reclaim Ketlovia are led by Prince Kiril van Thraca, son of King Ivan "the Least"
>>
>Setlovia and the Successors Part 2
Out of 80 sons of King Ivan only 3 princes are known to still be alive, the rest having either perished in the Gnoll War or captured by the Runaan. Each of these 3 is a candidate to succeed their father in the case that he should die, but there is much debate about which one should take the throne.

Prince Mihail van Thraca is the eldest surviving son and fought on the front lines during the Gnoll War. He however deserted when all seemed lost and has since been drifting from nation to nation, seeking a place he can call home. His father sees him as a coward and claims he is disinherited, but as the eldest living son his claim remains strong.

Prince Kiril van Thraca is the only living son of King Ivan and his Queen, Roza, who took her own life not long after the Gnoll War began. Kiril fled with those who would eventually establish Setlovia and thinks of himself as a leader who will one day restore his fathers lands. He leads the faction that wishes to return and reclaim Ketlovia and has begun calling himself King Kiril VI van Thraca. As the only living son of the King and Queen together his claim is seen as the strongest, but King Ivan sees Kiril as a threat that wishes to dethrone him.

Finally, there is Prince Andrei van Thraca, the youngest son of King Ivan. He was too young to go off to war with his brothers and as such remained in the capital with his father. Now a young man Andrei is being propped up as the successor by the Kings advisors but he has little experience having never left the capital in his whole life. Prince Andrei is revered by his father as the only son who didn't leave him, albeit Andrei didn't have much of a choice, and is his father's choice of an heir, although Ketlovians have always gone strictly by the eldest and not the Kings choice.

It is also customary for the princes to wait for their father to die before they do their wedding ceremony so as to keep up the tradition of the Masked Ball Dance being an event of Coronation. This does not stop them from having affairs however but many choose not to have kids before the Masked Ball Dance. During the Masked Ball Dance younger princes and princesses also seek out brides and grooms but theirs is not the focus. The princesses however will often get married unless there are no male heirs but this is very unlikely, having only happened once before leading to the rule of Queen Shenka van Threca.

I like it, but if possible I'd like to keep both the old and new form of lore canon where maybe there is some dispute which is true.

Were the Ketlovians cursed b the first witch and the ceremony continued in hopes the comes back to undue the curse?
Or did the Ketlovians used to hunt werewolves and the union between a werewolf and the King ended the persecution and the tradition of the ball was continued in vein of that happy event?

Did the Gnolls start slaughtering everyone on the ball and a war broke out? Or did the emperor have the 120 daughters devoured by maggots truly saying that this is the closest Gnolls have to marriage thus this event actually commemorating the peace between the Gnolls and Ketlovians.

The Gnolls stopped attacking because they believe the Ketlovians kept their part of the deal, while to the Ketlovians the Gnolls broke the deal then for no reason stopped attacking.

How about some compromises

The Ketlovians hunted witches and werewolves prior to them all being cursed, and afterwards had to begrudgingly accept their status

The Gnoll Invasion had already begun by the time of the mass wedding and they were ceremoniously killed via maggots in the ballroom alongside anyone who fought back. Then the reason the Gnolls stopped the war at the gates of the capital was because the Emperor believed by being invited all the way up to the capital it meant to rest of the land was his

>Changrila

>History:

Thanks to its gentle, fertile lands, the Changrila region was one of the first where stable human civilizations formed.

There were many different tribes, kingdoms, confederacies, and empires, now largely reduced to myth. Several millennia ago, the Changrila region, along with most of the humans of the south and west, were unified by the Prophet Aza against an ancient evil, and later Changrila became part of the Azan/Dragon Empire.

As a core piece of the Azan/Dragon Empire for several millennia, the Changrila provinces were considered nearly as prestigious as the core Azan region around Nananikor, and the city of Fenqui was considered second only to Nananikor itself.

The Changrila region was known for its particular fanatical interpretation of the Old Azan Faith, and its obsession with dragons and dragon iconography. Soldiers from the Changrila region often served as shock troops as the Azan Empire expanded, and the Changrila region was also somewhat influential in terms of architecture, fashion, and philosophy in the wider empire, though individuals from this region held surprisingly few positions in the government outside of their home provinces.

This created resentment over time, and following a series of major defeats to the drow, generals from Changrila tried to stage a coup, but were ultimately defeated. Instead, Changrila separated and became its own nation.

Almost immediately Changrila came under pressure from the north, where the witch-elves had recently begun carving their own empire. However, after a series of setbacks, Changrila was able to force a stalemate by mobilizing vast numbers of troops.

Feeling strong and empowered, the leader of Changrila at the time declared himself God-Emperor, a position that has been held by his descendants ever since.
>>
>>85123242

Despite some initial credibility problems and religious turmoil, the newly founded religion of the Divine Light helped bind the new nation into a fearsome theocracy which provided internal stability for several centuries, though it had surprisingly little luck at expanding beyond its borders.

However, over time the Empire began to stagnate. The God-Emperors became increasingly detached from reality, which caused real power to shift to first the generals and the bureaucracy, and later to the governors of the provinces, who became hereditary rulers. This led the Empire to essentially become a loose confederacy, united only by a common culture and paying lip service to the God-Emperor.

The Empire reached a low point about a century ago, when the Red Lotus Cult launched a peasant revolt that took decades to suppress and cost millions of lives.

Since then, it has recovered somewhat, but the oafish new God-Emperor has proven just as egotistical as his legendary ancestor, and seems to be on the verge of launching a massive war to conquer the small nations to the west, a move which will most likely benefit the witch-elves and the succubi, but few others.

>Government:

Although its leadership, whether it be the provincial noble families, the courtiers, or the God-Emperor himself are sometimes seen as incompetent and/or ruthlessly power hungry, Changrila still benefits from a strong bureaucracy and military kept motivated by religious fervor. The clergy of the Divine Light has a strong presence among soldiers and civil servants, allowing them to both preach to the devote, as well as root out the corrupt.

>Economy:

Despite its somewhat questionable leadership, Changrila is still a major center for research and innovation. New technologies and fields of magic study are frequently discovered here, and items created with such discoveries fetch high prices elsewhere.

Luxury goods like silk, jade, exotic spices, ingots of rare metals, and enchanted items fetch high prices elsewhere, particularly in Azan and the Blind Bastard’s Domain, where some folk are still proud of their Changrilan roots, and with others who associate such items with the grandeur of the old Azan/Dragon Empire.

Naval trade is also an important source of wealth, particularly for ambitious individuals not born into status. Large merchant ships known as treasure ships can be found as far north as Calcabra, and as far east as Ortuga.

Much like Azan, Changrila has benefited from millennia of wealth and prosperity, and even the poorest folk have a few finely crafted items handed down for generations, while the wealthiest have massive palaces and villas, and vaults full of the wealth they have accumulated for generations.

Rice paddies, bananas, pigs, sugar cane, powder cane, grapes, and silkworms are the main crops, but there are many more. There are also countless mines, particularly in the mountains along the border of the Giant’s Handprint Desert, but there are plenty elsewhere as well, including the infamous massive Zheng-Shii Silver Mines.

>Foreign Relations:

Witch-Elves and Succubi – The witch-elves and Changrila have been firm enemies ever since the creation of both empires around a millennia ago. Although Changrila lost much territory during the initial wars, they have since fortified the border extremely heavily, leading the witch-elves to focus more on slave raids, except when Changrila’s attention is focused elsewhere (like the Red Lotus Rebellion, or the more recent war against Gurize in Altopolyan and the invasion of the lands of the “civilized rock trolls”), at which point the witch-elves switch back to conventional warfare and sometimes take new permanent territory (a fact the God-Emperor seems to have forgotten as he gears up for war in the west).
>>
>>85123280

Furlaniya, Azhar Nar, the Nars Satrapies, and the Golden Hills – For the past two centuries, Changrila has been at peace with Furlaniya, particularly in the Golden Hills region, where they once worked together to keep it clear of trolls and succubi. However, the current God-Emperor believes he is destined for greatness, and the lands to the west seem like the easiest target to start with. For now fighting is limited to minor skirmishes and bush fire wars, but a full scale conflict seems inevitable in the near future.

Ogchuk Fiefdoms – This region is currently a vassal state of Changrila. On some maps it is even considered a province, though the Divine Light has little influence here, thus depriving the God-Emperor of his usual means of influencing his provinces.

Civilized Trolls – Changrila has recently begun a rather pointless war against the civilized trolls. It has gone poorly though, as all but the most fanatical followers of the God-Emperor see it as nothing but a land grab, and trolls are fearsome opponents to fight.

Giant’s Handprint Desert – Although Changrila extensively mines the mountains that border this region, the deserts are avoided due to the threat of sandworms.

Lorient, Lemon Kingdom, and InGurLand – Currently Changrila is at peace with these nations, but even the orcs of InGurLand can see Changrila has become increasingly expansionist in recent times, and the time may come where they have to seek allies against Changrila.

Maneater Islands – Changrila has launched several campaigns in recent years to purge this area of pirates, though they have surprisingly little to show for it.

Azan, Asvaran, and Terpythea – Although Changrila has trading relations with most nations in the south and west of the continent, these are perhaps their best customers.

Red Lotus – Although the God Emperor and his two predecessors are aware that the remnants of the Red Lotus Cult have settled in the far west, they don’t seem to consider it important to hunt them down, and are content to ignore them for now.

Moreelse – Changrila has identified this nation as the main source of the narcotic White Death, but has yet to do anything about it, likely because a loss in faith in the navy due to their persistent failures against the pirates of the Maneater Islands.

Golden Skulls – Changrila isn’t too keen on the Golden Skulls as many of them descend from rebels and exiles from Changrila. But for now they ignore each other.

>Geography:

Most of Changrila’s surface is covered in gently rolling plains and heavily cultivated land, however many large forests have been left alone as nature preserves or the hunting grounds of the elite. Of particular note are karst formations of the Hiuan Tsi River, where the richest of the rich make their homes among the beautiful rock formations and vast swathes of virgin forest.

There are some variant terrains though, like the small desert in the north, the mountain range along the east, or the dry, rocky coastal areas with its abundance of karst formations.

>Demographics:

Humans – The vast majority of the Empire’s inhabitants are human, almost all of whom are of the Shangris ethnicity. Due to its massive population and somewhat isolationist traits, Changrila never became as multicultural as other parts of the Azan/Dragon Empire, and most minorities become assimilated over time. A few families claim some dragon ancestry, but it is rare for it to physically manifest itself like it does amount some Azanese families.
>>
>>85123307

Cave Goblins – Some cave goblins live in the caves beneath Changrila. Although most clans are isolationist, and a few openly hostile, there are a handful of clans in the south which are friendly to strangers. Unusually long lived, pacifist, and slow to reproduce, they are fond of talking to guests, particularly well travelled ones, about the outside world, and recounting stories told to them in the past. Some believe if you talk to them long enough, and sift through the tall tails and misremembered stories, you might be able to gather some genuine nuggets of wisdom and useful knowledge.

Jooish Clans – These cat-like beings are fairly common among merchant groups travelling back and forth through the Golden Hills, and have formed a few small communities in Changrila’s western communities.

Yetis – These rare creatures are mostly found in the mountains around the Handprint Desert.

Civilized Rock Trolls – Although Changrila is currently at war with their nation, there are still a few rock trolls living in Changrila, working for anyone who sees their strength as enough of an asset to tolerate their stupidity.

>Religion:

The main religion is the Divine Light. Created by the first God-Emperor nearly a millennium ago, it has a great deal in common with the Old Azan Faith, including an obsession with dragons, an emphasis on altruism, humility, and service, and a tendency to divide the world between good and evil.

Some cynics feel the first God-Emperor largely plagiarized the Old Azan Faith, and changed little aside from replacing Bronzar, Aza, and the Saints with himself and his favorite lackeys. Many of the oldest temples of the Divine Light are repurposed Azanese churches, and many of the initial Divine Light clergy members were former clergy of Azan.

Despite its questionable origins, and expectation of unquestioning loyalty to whoever holds the position of God-Emperor, the followers of the Divine Light are fundamentally compassionate folk with a strong sense of justice. They have kept the military and bureaucracy motivated and relatively uncorrupt for generations, and are generally well respected by most folk in Changrila and any lawful minded folk elsewhere.

Some followers of the Divine Light seem to have divine powers, which many in Changrila see as proof of the God-Emperor’s divinity. However some believe these powers come from Bronzar, who is known to sometimes grant divine magic to any who follow his core tenets.

Some smaller religions and philosophies exist too, as Changrila is surprisingly unwilling to suppress religions unless they are blatantly evil.

The New Azan Faith has a few followers, as does The Balance (a nature-centric pacifist religion popular with certain hermits, free thinkers, alchemists, yetis, and cave goblins), the Dragon Cult and the Grave Watchers (offshoots of the Old Azan Faith mostly focused on worshipping dragons and fighting undead respectively).

Certain other religions are strictly banned though, particularly worship of Gogotha the Succubus Queen, an ongoing issue in many parts of the Empire.

>Military:

Despite their reputation for winning many battles by sheer weight of numbers, enemies of Changrila would do well to remember that this nation has produced some of the world’s greatest fighters and spellcasters.

The core army is a solidly trained and equipped force with many types of specialized elite and auxiliary formations, not unlike the Azanese Legions, which is not surprising as both are based on the Dragon Legions of the old Azan/Dragon Empire. However, Changrila is somewhat unique in its usage of primitive gunpowder weapons made with dried powder cane. Despite the fact that each province has its own army, they use many types of standardized equipment and usually work seamlessly together.

Supplementing the professional soldiers is a network of rural and urban militias trained with spear or bow. Although not particularly well equipped, or trained, they have turned the tide in many battles by weight of numbers.

There are also a number of elite organizations who will occasionally come to the aid of the military if the cause is right, including:

Monks – Often followers of The Balance, the Dragon Cult, or the Grave Watchers. Most simply train in unarmed and armed martial arts, but some have access to divine magic.

Wuxia – Religious fighters who follow the Divine Light or one of the Azan Faith offshoots. They are loosely organized, but only the most skilled and selfless are generally recognized as wuxia. Some can cast divine magic, others use sword magic, and a few are just exceptional fighters.

Wizards – Changrila has plenty of magic schools whose teachings are not that different than the main western schools. A few spellcasters become just as powerful as the strongest of the Wizards of the Isle of Wizards.

Martial Artists – Although most martial arts schools are tied to the military or orders of monks, some are unaffiliated, appealing to those more interested in self-defence, spirituality, personal fitness, mercenary work, or competing in tournaments.

Good stuff. If I may I'd also add this:

>Administrative divisions
On paper most of the empire works on a two-tier system. Most of the country is made up of large provinces (zhou) which are themselves made up of smaller counties (xian). Crucially while the emperor has, in theory, the right to appoint and dismiss provincial governors (zhouwei), it's the provincial governors that have the charge of appointing the governors of counties (xianwei). As the emperor's effective powers have diminished, the vast majority of provinces have become ruled by hereditary dynasties backed by extensive clientelist nets. Because of this it has been centuries since the last time the imperial palace has successfully removed a provincial dynasty from power.

There are however exceptions to this system, mainly the captaincies (jun) and protectorates (duhu). A jun is a single level administrative division ruled by a taijun (grand captain) who is directly answerable to the emperor. Most of the empire's borders are made up of jun and allow the emperor effective control over the empire's borders, as they have much more control over these posts than over the provinces. Traditionally a successful term as a taijun defending the borders of the empire was seen as a necessary pre-requisite for young nobles seeking to advance to powerful positions at the Fenqui court such as the Seven Chancelleries, though this tradition has been broken a number of times by arrogant or corrupt emperors.
>>
>>85123896
The other main exception to the provincial system are the duhu, independent states with their own administration that pay tribute to the imperial throne. Traditionally the empire sends a protector (duhufu) which would act as ambassador and counsel at the court of the tributary state. How much the vassal states have to bow to the duhufu depends on the exact modalities of the protectorate agreement. In modern times the most important duhu are the Ogchuk fiefdoms. In previous centuries when the empires of Azan and Changrila were less exhausted, the two often went to war over the right to tribute the smaller states that lie between them.

There also exists an archaic parallel system in the empire, that of judicial leagues (daoge). In the early years of the empire, one of the more forward thinking emperors established a new judicial system which instead of being based in the customary laws of various tribes and the whims of governors established new judicial leagues, territories which fell under the legal jurisdiction of one judge (zhidaoge), appointed by the emperor and following a unified codex of laws. As the borders of daofu were not congruent with the borders of provinces and counties this allowed the emperor to somewhat break the influence of local governors. This system however would become more and more marginalised as the powers of the palace court declined and those of local governors rose. While the idea of a single codex of law for the entire empire has been preserved in the name of ease of commerce and policing, over time most of the powers of the zhidaofu were instead transferred to county judges (zhixian) which are answerable to the local governors instead of the emperor. While the daoge system persists to this day, the zhidaoge have lost the authority over most judicial matters, with only a handful of inter-provincial property and taxation disputes as well as those regarding military matters falling under their jurisdiction.

Can I add a bit for the economy?
Changri-la has some of the biggest silver deposits in the world, which allows them to mint coins with a high value. The Changrilese seal on a coin is highly appreciated by traders across the world, since it guarantees the shown value of the coins. Because of that, Changrilese authorities are highly alert about possible falsifications done by pirates and thieves, with the punishment for falsifying coin being working do death in the mines.

Gnoll Empire - Since the end of the war there has been almost no relations between Ketlovia and the Empire, besides the ocassional Gnoll border raid, but they seemingly never go too far only striking to cause a little terror in the hearts of the Ketlovians

Land of the Runaan - Relations were almost non-existent before the Gnoll Invasion as the Runaan mostly kept to themselves and seemed to pose no threat. However after Ketlovians fled through the country the Runaan struck, taking many Ketlovians prisoner to be used as laborers in their mines, since then King Ivan has declared an embargo on the Runaan and demanded increased security on the border. The Runaan are isolationist however and have yet to show any interest in leaving or expanding their land. King Ivan vows to invade them and set his people free, right after he deals with the Gnolls.

Setlovia - Ketlovia has somewhat rocky relations with their successor state. Although they are allies and Ketlovia is well informed on what goes on in Setlovia, King Ivan is worried the Setlovians plan to overthrow him, but knows they would have to make a trek through The Lands of The Runaan to do so.

They probably do some trade in high value goods. The problem would be getting stuff from one nation to the other.

There is no real water route between the nations unless you go the long way around.

Many of the land routes also seem pretty dangerous. Going through the Hordelands then Gilgemash may be the most viable right now, though Badgassi, Mona Ki, and Bakir may also be viable depending on how they end up being fluffed.

I guess there is also magic portals and teleportation for very high value goods.

>History

The Aine Saevherne used to rule the majority of eastern Zemyland, often mantaining peaceful relations with the Hyperboreans to the west and ignoring the Nerim of the Desert, but that all changed during the great migration.

Hordes of humans fled North, from the Small Giantstep and the land that today is known as Elanxa. That led to many wars and clashes between the Aine Saevherne and the humans, disrupting the power balance of the region. Even though the humans could not match the physical prowess of the Aine Saevherne, their numbers and "scorched earth" tactics led to the tipping of the scale.

The humans, called the Zemylandians, took control over much of the eastern part of the island. They didn't only fight the Aine Saevherne though, as many bloody wars were fought between them and the Old Hyperboreans. Those ended with the Hyperborean king being taken in shackles, humiliated in front of his own people. When his head rolled to the snow covered ground, that's when Old Hyperborea left, its people scattering Central Zemyland as pasturers and nomads, until now.

People

The Aine Saevherne are taller than humans, often reaching heights above 2 metres. They are pale skinned (thus, being nicknamed "Snow Elves" by the Zemylandians and Hyperboreans) and love art, singing and theatre. Even though generally peaceful, a faction of war-minded individuals has sprung after their defeat the hands of the invading Zemylandias, with Elder King Caed Rhuadri being the most prominent of them.

Despite the generally frozen lands that they inhabit, they possess a natural resistance to the cold, often wearing light clothes, with some of the aristocrat women wearing gowns that expose one of their breasts. They don't consider nakedness as crude, unlike most of their human neighbors.
>>
>>85130885
>Government

The Elder Kingdom of the Aine Saevherne, or simply "ártir " as called by its locals, is governed by a single Elder King, aided by his councillors. Such positions include the Spymaster, the Lawmaker, the Magus and the Gesserit.

The position of the "Magus" belongs only to Pureborn Aine Saevherne - individuals who possess a genetic affinity towards magic. The Magi are able to live much longer than the average person, offten serving entire generations of Kings.

The current Magus, Calathan the Great, was responsible for dealing with the menace of the Erlkönig hundreds of years ago. Considered one of the greatest Aine Saevherne sorcerers to have ever lived, he alongside Elder King Caedr Rhuadri plot together in order to restore the status of their people.

The "Gesserit" is a title fashioned by individuals who are reponsible of keeping track of the lineages of the Aine Saevherne, the Royal Family's first and foremost, as well as any Pureborn's. Many genetic programs have been established in order to control the magical gene and incorporate that into the Royal bloodline, although with little success. The current Gesserit is Duach An-Maith, a Pureborn who has earned a sinister reputation as a ruthless Gesserit that will not allow anything to get between him and his goals.

Although often considered a peaceful people, a faction of war-minded individuals has sprung after their defeat the hands of the invading Zemylandians, with Elder King Caed Rhuadri being the most prominent of them. They dress in black clad armor, and due to their strength, the largest of them can carry large battlehammers, halberds and greataxes that humans cannot. They often conduct small-scale raids in the surrounding lands, taking humans as hostages and slaves, their deep hatred for humans making them unable to distinguish the Zemylanders from the Hyperborean nomads.
>>
>>85130951
>Religion

The Aine Saevherne worship a goddess known as Shiora, or Bythol. She is a goddess of nature, fertility and death. She has many forms. One of them is that of a young maiden, one of a fierce amazon and the other of a hunched, old crone. The temples of Shiora are scattered around the land of the Aine Saevherne. Her priests are exclusively female, usually girls who were chosen by the High Priestess from a young age. Those priestesses take a vow of silence, and are known as excellent surgeons and healers.

Shiora is also worshipped by the Hyperboreans, albeit under a different name.

>Foreign Relations

Kingdom of Silver, Copper, Bronze, Crimson Queen, Platinum Princedom and Collapsed Realms of Rust - The Aine Saevherne harbor a deep hatred for humans, stemming from the invading Zemylandians that ended their vast Kingdom long ago. Since those realms are the descendants of the migrating humans, the Aine Saevherne are hostile to them and conduct raids against them, although a full blown out war would not be in their favor, due to being surrounded on all sides.

Old Hyperborea and Alltaf Tribes - The Aine Saevherne have managed to co-exist peacefully with them, with some even living in their capital city of Mathair ná Cathraca. Even though they are humans, the invading Zemylandians brought these two races together, since both of their empires came into ruin. Lately, however, the Elder King's xenophobic and aggressive policies have alienated their relationship with the New Hyperboreans and their King Velosod.

Avangar - Even though they consider Avangar a nest of nastiness and evil, they are, along with Elanxa, their main trade partners. The Elyrians' rapid expansion and warmongering is a cause of concern amongst the Aine Saevherne, although they plan to take advantage of the imminent war between Avangar and the Platinum Princedoom for their own gains.
>>
>>85131092
Biblion - Although not outright hostile, the Aine Saevherne distrust the librarianfolk's endless seeking of knowledge. During the peak of their Elder Kingdom, the Aine Saevherne made a pact with the librarianfolk and the owlmen of Biblion for an exchange of knowledge concerning the elusive magical heritage of the Aine Saevherne. However, Biblion's interest has faded over the years, now secluding themselves in their Grand Library.

Corteau Canyon - Even though the Aine Saevherne have been on the island of Zemyland for almost two thousand years now, the inhabitants of the Corteau Canyon - as well as the few Valkyries that live on top of the snow covered plateaus - were there before them. The Aine Saevherne have had very few reasons to delve in the frigid deserts of the Corteau canyon, so even though they've coexisted in these lands for millenia, they've barely interacted with each other.

>Pesimatra
Pesimatra is located near the shores of the Frozen Lake. It was initially a small fishing town, having to carve huge holes in the frozen lake just to be able to access the waters below and its trout populations. The fishing grounds on the Frozen Lake cover a massive area, but fishermen generally prefer limiting their activities to the closer areas of the lake, since the Isle of Cold’s mysterious effects cause terror among the pesimatran population. Attempts of developing agriculture in the area have been futile, since the land around the lake is frozen and barely able to sustain plant life due to the permafrost. The city is also a major artisanal center, mostly centered in textile working leathers into high quality cold-resistant clothes. The economic growth of the kingdom has seen their economy expand into luxury clothes for the world nobility and great fortunes, with many pesimatran’s merchants searching for inks and dyes for the city’s industry.

>Panisfribio
The fortified city of Panisfribio used to be the old capital of the kingdom. During the days of nogarese rule, this area was chosen as a resting spot for their armies, setting camp there. It eventually grew into a city of its own, well-fortified by the standards of the region. It has a long-standing military tradition, and it held the training grounds for the drunig knights that formed their military. As such, the protection the city offered across the land made it the most prosperous population in the kingdom. However, during the economic expansion of the kingdom, the eventual moving of the capital made Panisfribio lose a lot of power and influence, and as such, its population has shrunk considerably. The capital change also moved most of the main knight orders and the army’s headquarters to Taracotennas. This meant the loss of Panisfribio’s importance and a major percentage of the population, which in turn, affected the city’s standing and economy greatly. As such, some of the more traditional knight houses and dynasties now rule Panisfribio, clinging to past glories, generating a lot of tension with the capital and the Crown. The city is still very important as a policing center for most of the kingdom’s inner lands, protecting the herders and farmers from bandits and pirates.

>Mibridor
The city of Mibridor is the main agricultural center in all the Kingdom of Drunigzar. The lands around the Rhaliaco river are some of the only properly arable lands in the kingdom, and as such, they concentrated a lot of its population. With the economic expansion, Mibridor doubled down in its agricultural importance to the country. Managing to convince the powers that be that relying upon outside food exports was a recepy to disaster, they conceived a plan alongside the Crown to improve the productive capabilities of the lands near the Rhaliaco. As such, Mibridor has concentrated a lot of agricultural experts, geologists and alchemists to investigate the best ways to improve the fertility of the land and which crops can be grown there to maximise output. This has made Mibridor a center of reference in agricultural development, nearly doubling production through the development of new technology and crops. Its biggest innovation, the "alchemical bubble caves", can create small isolated spaces that imitate the exact conditions to grow a specific plant. Although a revolutionary development, its high costs and its limited size means it's only really cost-effective in certain species, such as medicinal herbs, and it's simply unable to produce mass consumption crops at any acceptable quantities. This advancements have been achieved at a great cost for the Crown and the city, however, and Mibridorese authorities fear the funding needed to continue this projects will be eventually cut in case of finantial troubles or rejected for cost-eficiency reasons.

This is just a regular altitude map. The legend is right there. I followed some of the lore that mentioned high peaks or big plains and drew it accordingly, but I had to improvise a lot. I also made a parallel/meridian system to make placing stuff easier.

>>85075298
This one is kind of a mess, considering how complicated can placing different climates be in a flat world with magic altering the weather and temperatures. I also followed some of the lore, but I had to improvise a lot here. Still, it needs to be cleaned up, it's too coarse as it is.

>>85075345
This is mostly a reference guide. Since making the actual depth map of each place would be rather pointless at a global scale, I just added a lot of underground places so that people could develop more lore for them (and maybe, eventually, their actual depth maps).

This kind of it, really. And besides, since many have claimed to want to make the maps for the places they've wrote, my maps are still open to change. ESPECIALLY the biome one, that one really needs a big overhaul.

Furlaniya - calendar

>Festu dei Serso/Sersovo
4th Sunday after the winter solstice

Serso is an old festival originating in religious rituals of the ancient Azan dragon faith supposedly meant to pay respects to their draconic overlords at the start of the year. The festival has since been attached to a Furlan martyr, San Serso. San Serso was a pious magistrate from the county of Vanda that was executed by being tied to a burning wheel by Shangrilese troops during one of their attempted northern invasions.

During the day the young men of the village must acquire several giant wooden wheels, through a ritualised bargaining system with the local coopers involving goats and straw figures of San Serso. In the evening the wheels are soaked in blessed oil before being lit on fire and wheeled off a local hill. Augurs and wise men can interpret the behaviour of the wheels as they tumble down towards the valley to devine the fortune of the village for the coming year. There are many traditional rivalries between the men of various settlements to have the most bedazzling celebration and wealthier settlements often use enchanted or exotic burning oils, or even hire a wizard to enchant the wheels with various cantrips.

Such a rivalry famously almost destroyed the cities of Vidulis and Cidulis, who resent each other to this day. In their vain quest to outdo each other the cities sought the help of a shadowy but powerful mage who was in fact an agent of the lich priests in disguise. Tired with the senseless works of the living, the lich agreed to help both, enchanting the wheels with powerful spells that when unleashed on the day of the festival, sent the population of both cities into a complete torpor between life and death. The lich then assumed reign in the cities and with the help of dark minions transformed them into a quiet land of silence and death. It wasn't until centuries later that cities were freed by a band of anonymous heroes, after which both resumed their rivalry, each blaming the other for the calamity.

The date is also important in Gùrize as it is one of the festivals that mark the start of a new senate session, which means heated debates around the budget allocated for provinces and consular troops between the various noble houses of the city. This has led to Gùrizans nicknaming the period "assassination week".

If we do that, we're not going to complete the lore for all that's already there. This threads becoming slower is normal, since it's harder to come up with complex lore than pointing at a map and coming up with simple basis for a fantasy place.

More drunig lore.

>Segaltar
The city of Segaltar was one of the more important fishing town before the economic expansion, it housed some of the most expert sailors and ship builders at the time. The segalteses already had a good deal of treaties with the Woodcutter Cities from the north, since accessing local wood was both expensive and the local trees produced poor quality wood anyway. Many of the original ships during Paolo II's expeditions were bought from shipbuilders who had ties to Segaltar, which made the city the biggest port in the kingdom before the moving of the capital to Tarracotennas. Wanting to continue their position of commercial dominance in the kingdom, they've tried to monopolise their ties to the Woodcutter, something they failed once the economic expansion began in earnest. Trying to compensate for this loss, Segaltar tried to explore the lands south of the kingdom in search for better wood and shipbuilding deals. This made them enter in contacts with the drunig colonies near the Forest of Bloody Vengeance. Many of this colonies work as woodcutters themselves, even despite the warnings of the curse that haunts that forest. While many ignore the curse, saying it only affects to those born in the
Dual Kingdom-Empire of Voita-Malagsh, rumours have began to spread that segaltese-built navy ships made out of wood from that accursed place end up sinking in mysterious conditions, while merchant and fishing ships show no such problems. As such, many people mistrusts their ships, just in case that curse start affecting other areas. This doesn't detter the Gnoll Empire from buying big armoured ships from them, usually destined to raid and slaving raids. This has caused a lot of controversy within Drunigzar, since if the curse starts affecting their ships, it may cause a major diplomatic rift between the Kingdom of Drunigzar and the Gnoll Empire, something the kingdom can ill afford.

>Furlaniya (includes some stuff copied from earlier posts)

>History:

The region known as Furlaniya has long been inhabited by small, quarrelsome ethnic groups. Some of them claim a certain amount of ancestry from the lost city of Qadash, but that time period is mostly jumbled myth.

Although an early member of the Azan/Dragon Empire, the region was prone to small conflicts between provinces even before they separated from the Azan/Dragon Empire, and as a result, were often seen collectively as backwater hicks by the rest of the Empire.

Despite this, the region didn’t separate until 500 years ago, long after the internal conflicts and religious reformations that caused many other parts of the Empire to secede. This was not from a lack of trying though, there were many revolts during the history of the Azan/Dragon Empire, but they inevitably failed as the other ethnic groups sided against the ones revolting.

However, by the Tenth Dynasty Period, the Azan Empire had largely lost interest in subjecting other ethnic groups. There was a strong feeling among followers of the New Azan Faith that empire building for the sake of empire building was contrary to Bronzar’s will that his followers focus on defeating true evil, rather than petty politics and fattening the coffers of the rich.

So when a Furlan vassal king managed to unify much of the region and launch a rebellion, Azan made an only half-hearted attempt to suppress it, and (eventually) recognized the area as a separate nation once things settled down.

Needless to say, this didn’t last long though, new nation broke up into several city-states only a few years later, and the internal borders of Furlaniya have been shifting around ever since.

Currently the main threats to the region are Changrila’s increasing assertiveness in the Golden Hills region, the ever expanding Gomorrah Breach, and the long present trolls.

>Government:

Furlaniya is a patchwork mess of political and ethnic alliances between larger cities and their smaller vassals, who often are located far apart from each other, separated by several holdings of other city-states. The main nations are:

Manzan – Ruled by hereditary nobles – Its outlying territories are mostly of the Furlan ethnic group.

Gurize – Ruled by an oligarchical council – Its outlying territories are also mostly of the Furlan ethnic group. Its most famous holding is Altopolyan, a frequent site of conflict in the region.

Vipanna – Ruled by a hereditary Duke – It main city is Furlan, but most of its outlying holdings are Primorscan.

Bora – Ruled by a hereditary noble – It main city is Primorscan, but its outlying areas are very mixed (but usually with a Primorscan plurality).

Tergaconne – Ruled by a hereditary Duke – Its main city and most of its holdings are Vittalian, but some outlying regions are of other ethnicities.

Ampleazzo – Technically part of Azan still, but mostly does its own thing. Has several small allied regions deep in Furlaniya.

Pharoth – Created via a rare joint venture between Furlaniyan states, though most of initial work and subsequent ownership is by Manzan, Gurize, and mercenary clans of dwarves from Azan and Gautlan.

In addition, there are a number of territories held by Nasr Corsairs, Changrilan garrisons, and small independent states.

>Economy:

Furlaniya doesn’t really produce much that other neighboring regions can’t make for themselves, but there is a lot of trade in luxury goods like rare breeds of riding spiders and bulls, and certain brands of wine and pine liquor.

The dryness of the region means it isn’t great for agricultural use, but enough wheat, grapes, dairy, and wine, among many other produces, are enough to feed the locals.
>>
>>85170956

Frequent skirmishes between city-states, plus infestations of trolls and cave goblins mean most communities are well fortified, but also somewhat plain compared to the rich architecture and accumulated wealth of Azan and Changrila.

Mercenary companies have a significant presence here, and are a major employer.

>Foreign Relations:

Dsrvysth, Azan, Hithlone, the Triarchy – Major trading partners of Furlaniya, but otherwise don’t have much diplomatic relations, though mercenaries from Furlaniya are common in all these regions.

Ampleazzo – Technically a province of Azan, it is mostly self ruled, and has strong ties to the Furlaniya region, and is often listed as one of the main city-states of Furlaniya (along with Altopolyan, which belongs to Gurize.

Troll Lands – Trolls have long been a plague on the region, though some rumors suggest they have been enhanced in some way to help combat the recent Gommorah Breach. Many regions in the Troll Lands are in fact claimed by one Furlani city-state or other, while others are independent.

Golden Hills – Although shown as a no-man’s land on many maps between Furlaniya and Changrila, most Furlani consider the western portion of the region to be theirs, as Furlans and Primorscans have been living their for millennia.

Azhar Nar – Once frequent enemies of Furlaniya in the past, they have recently joined a defensive pact with Furlaniya against potential expansion by Changrila.

Nasr Satrapies – Another member of the defensive pact against Changrila, despite their long history of raiding the Furlaniya city-states, and even conquering some small coastal cities.

Changrila – The Furlaniyan city-states have skirmished and warred with Changrila in the past over control of the Golden Hills region as often as they have worked together to protect it. However, recent signs point to another major war in the near future.
>>

48 KB JPG
>>85170963

Succubi and Witch-Elves – Despite the Troll Lands between the Gomorrah Breach and Furlaniya, succubi and witch-elves sometimes raid the Golden Hills.

>Geography:

Furlaniya has a mild, pleasant climate, and much of the region that hasn’t been cultivated is covered in characteristic Fûrlan pine tree forests or mixed broad-leaf forest.

Most of the region lies on a large limestone karst aquifer that quickly swallows any water deep within the earth, like the famous Timavo underground river which disappears from the surface when its course enters the plateau. This means that the entire region is dependent on rain for its water supply, which is thankfully abundant enough. From afar the plateau appears deceptively green due to its deep-rooted pine forests, but any traveller would do good not to get lost in the vast pine forests.

Fûrlaniya is also well known for its vast limestone cave complexes, created by a multitude of underground rivers and lakes. These caves are the home to many cave bears, bats and the famous white cave wyrms, as well as many tribes of goblins. A clan of pale swamp ogres is also known to live within the caves near Manzan, terrorizing the local crofters.

>Demographics:

Humans - Fûrlans make most of the population, joined by Primorscan farmers in the south-east, Vittelians in the west and Witebz counts in the north (a subgroup of Furlans). Shangris, Azanese, and Azharis are also common in the area. Most outsiders can’t easily tell the difference between these groups visually (except the Shangris), so membership to a particular ethnicity is mostly self-identification, combined with knowledge of the language, birth in a certain region to at least one parent who identifies as said group, and the following of certain customs.

Dwarves – Locally known as Gautlaners regardless of what their clan’s history is. They are particularly common around Pharoth, which was the site of a minor dwarven kingdom in ancient times, and is now home to both longtime dwarven residences and more recent mercenaries. Dwarves can be found in most other cities as well.

Goblins and Trolls – Seen by locals as mindless monsters, though this is perhaps unfair in the case of the cave goblins, who coexist peacefully with humans in some other parts of the world, and even in Furlaniya mostly stick to thieving.

Joois Clans - Joos are not uncommon in Furlaniya (as well as their holdings in the Troll Lands and the Golden Hills). They run a number of merchant caravans between Azan and Changrila which stop in various places in between as well.

Dragon Tieflings - There are still a few of them in Furlaniya. Most of them descend from exiles, as historically Furlaniya never had any major dragon tiefling families, nor did the dragon aspect of the Old Azan Faith appeal much to them back when the Old Faith was dominant.

Witch-Elves and Succubi – Although they were once rare in the area, they have been increasingly common just east of Fort Pharoth.

>Religion:

A multicultural region at the cross roads between the east and west of the old Azan/Dragon Empire, most inhabitants follow the New Azan Faith, but some also follow the Divine Light, the dwarven gods, or one of several Azharis or local faiths. Religious conflicts are surprisingly rare though, as political and ethnic loyalties are usually seen as more important.

>Military:

The city-states in the region rely heavily on mercenaries to handle the periodic regional conflicts. Many mercenary companies won’t fight against their home city though if they are from Furlaniya, and some won’t get involved in local conflicts at all unless their home city is involved, instead working abroad during times of peace.

The area has a reasonable number of mages and divine spellcasters, but they prefer to keep out of most conflicts unless it is against trolls or succubi. Most mercenary companies have a few spellcasters though, but usually in support roles.

A wide range of fighting styles are common in the area, though pike, crossbows, rapiers, and greatswords are often seen as the local specialties.

Mercenaries from Ampleazzo, Gautlan, the Nasr Satrapies, Azhar Nar, Lorient, Changrila, and the Civilized Trolls Kingdemocracy are all relatively common, each bringing their own distinct fighting styles.

>South Rtega
The city of South Rtega was founded as a protective outpost to protect the Chickenbone Gulf from attacks during the days of the economic expansion, when the nogarese fleet couldn't be accounted for protecting the area due to their war against the gnoll. It quickly grew due to all trade in the area, and decided to expand. The colonial projects of Paolos III gave them an opportunity to do so. In particular, they focused on the Lotus Island, an area that was not really claimed by any state. Their attempts at setting up a colony there, however, failed miserably, since the addictive properties of the lotus flowers meant that every single individual who went there ended up addicted and cut all ties with the mainland, losing both the population and the ships. From that point on, South Rtega's authorities and merchant houses have been discussing ways to take over the island, searching for any clue that might help them protect themselves from the flowers' effects. Many consider that the only real option for taking control of the land is simply to burn down the place in its entirety, but this causes many concerns. In particular many fear the effluvia caused by the burning flowers might reach the mainland and cause havoc upon the population, now with no way to acquire the lotus flowers. Others are searching for ways to neutralise the effects either by depriving themselves from the sense of smell or creating some form of isolation. Many others want to find a way to profit from the lotus flowers, seeing as if the effects can be controlled, it could become a star product all throughout the world.

They are based on a Russian fairytale, but even the fairytale doesn't really have any details.

In this setting, they do have some lore, but mostly via other nation's lore.

>>85172728
I think it goes:
1) Time of really ancient nations
2) Time of the main Empires (Azan/Dragon, Khenomeric, Merfolk) - lasted millennia, but have all been in decline for at least a thousand years, except the merfolk, who got nuked by their own god
3) Most modern nations slowly develop over the past 1000 years to a few centuries as the empires collapse, some new nations formed in the north
>>
I'm editing the wiki right now, and I have a couple of notes here.

1. We really ought to be careful with the names of the places. I've lost count of how many times Changrila appears writen differently (Changrila, Changri-La, Shangrila, Shangri-La, Shangrilla...).
2. If anyone wants to add some lore, you could check already existing pages and develop some of the concepts in already established lore. Many events, groups, places and things are mentioned but never developed beyond that.
3. Do we make a list of every sentient species? Or do we make a page for each one? Certain ones like the Gnolls are mixed with their states, but I feel that's kinda disordered as it is.
4. We really need a clear chronology. As in, a clear calendar with clear dates to situate the events mentioned everywhere. And also be careful not to overstep on each others' lore (for example, the gnolls must have attacked the Ra before Nogar, so we need to account the region's lore to that).
5. If you write lore, please be mindful of typos, capital letters and the like.

Also, I would agree with what >>85172997 said, but that needs more lore. Most geographical elements are only mentioned in the physical map.

Earlier in the thread I wrote some lore for some minor western races. I used a quick size-diet-origin-status-territory system, similar to the bestiary. We could use that as a starting point, and use hyperlinks where a race's lore is strongly tied to their region's page.

>History

Arangea is an old city, almost as old as the oldest Drow cities, but it still pales in comparison to the ancientness of the city of Etera. The inhabitants of Arangea and Bumi consider themselves as the heirs of the Eterans, even though scholars generally consider them a separate people. Despite that, many records indicate that Arangea and Bumi were founded around some time before the disappearance of the Eterans.

>City

Arangea is renowned for its impressive and imposing architecture, its victorian and gothic style building mirroring those of Etera. Colors such as white, grey and black dominate in Arangea. Large churches, bell towers, gargoyles and bridges are scattered around the city.

Arangea is considered as the home of alchemy and pyromancy in the west. It's home to the Alchemist's Guild, as well as the House of the Flame. In fact, alchemy and pyromancy are the only types of magic that are allowed to be practiced in Arangea.

>Culture and Religion

The Arangeans worship the goddess Irem, who embodies the spirit of the moon. Many churches and rituals are dedicated to her glory. The Arangeans pray that one day, Irem will unlock the magic seal that covers Etera, allowing them back to their ancestral home.

Although more prominent in Bumi, a darker, more sinister version of Irem is also worshipped. The subject of this heresy is known as Mg'umba, an eldritch cosmic being of the Moon that's clouded in mystery.

>Government

Arangea is ruled by a Magister, who reigns from the Palace of Ministers. The Magister is chosen by a delegation of the nobility of the city, although in reality his jurisdiction is limited.

The most powerful and prominent family in Arangea are the Van Aerlvenhems, whose manor is situated outside the city's boundaries. They often host masquerade balls and exquisite feasts, although nasty rumours circulate around Arangea about them..

>Demographics

Humans - The majority of the population in Arangea are humans, mostly natives, Bumians, scholars from Hithlone and carpetbaggers from Belsirya and Calcabra.

Non Humans - Sea Elves Drow are an uncommon sight in both Arangea and Bumi. Trolls and Ogres make up for the majority of the city's slaveforce, mostly used for their brute strength that's particularly useful in carrying statues and other heavy building materials. A race of halflings and dwarves also inhabits Arangea, although they're considered second-class citizens and occupy the carved out houses at the Ever Grande Bridge.

>Foreigns Relations

Bumi - Both cities consider each other allies, as well as rivals. The Bumians see the Arangeans as too conservative in their restriction of magic, while the Arangeans see them as heretics that the Elders of Etera would be ashamed of. Still, wars between the two have been rare in history, thanks to the looming threat of the Drow in the south.

Isle of Wizards and Hithlone - Many Arangean alchemists and pyromancers visit those nations to expand their knowledge when it comes to the arcane, as any magic that's not alchemy or pyromancy is outlawed in Arangea. Likewise, Hithlonean scholars and Wizards from the Wizarding Isles often visit Arangea for academic purposes.

Blesire States, Belsirya, Calcabra, Aurous Highlands - Trade is rare between those people, but a century old defensive pact has been established against the Drow city-states.

Moreelse - The White Death narcotic has shied away from the north of Scimitaria. The Hydra's Eyes' agents are numerous in Arangea, although many efforts have been carried out to limit their influence.

Scarred Phantoms - Despite being extremely expensive, many assassinations have been carried out against the elite of Arangea. It's rumoured that most of those were carried out by the Phantoms, although it's never been proven.

i think the person who introduced them wanted them based on the folk tales about them
it should be in one of the early threads

Etera - Etera is considered to be both the ancestral land of the Arangeas, as well as the Holy Site. Many make their pilgrimage towards the steep mountains that overlook the city, as Etera itself has been magically sealed for centuries now.

Sea Elves - Relations between the two have been neutral at best. Although the Sea Elves don't harbor any expansionist ambitions towards Bumi and Arangea, those nations are direct rivals when it comes to trade in northern Scimitaria.

Drow - Arangea is one of the very few human settlements in Scimitaria that has never under direct Drow rule. Still, like all human states in Scimitaria, the Drow are their rivals and enemies, with a millitary alliance forming between the northern human states against the warring Drow.

I read the fairy tale, but it contains next to no useful information, other than that the women are hot, with gold kingdom being the hottest, and that the realms are underground, with each below the other. Also there are lower levels with fictional creatures like Baba Yaga.

Will probably just use a pastiche of Russian folklore and Scandinavian stuff, plus extrapolate from neighboring nations.

I have no requests, apart from reading all the shit from the neighboring nations, since those Kingdoms are the only ones in the vicinity that have no lore.

Done.

The only thing I can't figure out is where the Small Giantstep is, it is only ever referenced in Aine Saevherne's history.

Here's what I think the subdivisions of the map should be like.

>1
Scimitaria/Far West
>2
Southwest
>3
Northwest

All 3 of those are considered "the West", generally

>4
The South
>5
Southeast

Both of those are considered "the South"

>6
Druidlands and Smallstep
>7
Zemyland

5, 6 and 7 are considered "the East"

>8
The Centre of Giantstep. A hellhole.

I'd say we do both. But starting with the list would be reasonable I guess
