“Do it again, Xiuquan!” edition

>What is this?
/TG/ MAKES A GAME.
What started as a simple political compass chart about a (completely made up) Journey to the Center of the Earth-style wargame has morphed into a (for real this time) Vernian-hellscape wargame.
Its an ~1870s era, Jules Verne pre-war scifi inspired underground eldritch hellscape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, fight each other for victory.
A campaign mode is planned, but is far from completion

Currently there exist 3 versions of the rules:
>1e - proof of concept, recently updated with unit stats
>2e - lead by 2e anon, playtests started, unified document is in the works
>4e - slowly developed by multiple anons, almost ready for playtesting, rules present in the doc
>A TEST GAME HAS BEEN PLAYED! I REPEAT! A GAME HAS BEEN PLAYED ON /TG/!

>What can I do?
Shitpost, meme, get comfy. Read over the docs to settle in.
Contribute if you have ideas. Give feedback on contributions if you don't.

Pretty sure most of the Asian units would be revealed with the full Satsuma and Japanese forces in 5th edition, lore wise. (I.E. A few years after 4e is based.) India would probably be the outlier in that list, mostly acting as an option for Lemuria's auxiliary units.

Whether or not China gets a similar treatment with Mu, or breaks away into a full 'Heavenly Emperor who leads alone' situation is certainly an interesting thing to consider.

Honestly, I don’t think the Heavenly Kingdom is a proper puppet state.
Mu just gave them Definitely Not Necromancy to see what would happen and make life worse for the outlanders.
It’s always funny to fuck with outlanders.

So does Taiping control China now or did it enter into some sort of proto-warlord era, with Taiping occupying a good chunk, but also different splinter factions popping up all over the place?
>>
The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom should have an actual, real dragon as one of its Leader options.
>>
>>89545174
Okay, so, if you don't know the history of the Taiping Rebellion, let's just clarify this for you:
If the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom won the war, there would not be a single soul in China left that was not totally, blindly, dogmatically dedicated to the Christian extremist cause.

The Taiping Heavenly Kingdom were unironically the most butcherous group ever in human history. The Taiping Rebellion was the bloodiest war per capida in all of human history, on the backs of both sides outright slaughtering their opponents down to the last man, woman and child everywhere they went.

The Taiping Rebellion has a death toll, ONLY in China, comparable to WW2's death toll across the entire globe. If Taiping won, there would not be anyone left on the other side to form a different region of China.

Newfag reporting. What are the layers like? Are there interior suns? Is it just a big cave network?
>>
Also why is Russia called the Tsardom? I can't find the explanation
>>
>>89545348
>Newfag reporting. What are the layers like?
Massively varied. This is (...distantly.) Jules Verne inspired, so we have everything from diverse jungles to volcanic flows to entire empires down there.
The "Lore Doc" is huge and can be overwhelming, but there's a TL;DR doc to get you up to speed on the basics of all the factions.

>Are there interior suns? Is it just a big cave network?
There is an interior sun, but it doesn't cover all the layers. (Only 3rd and 4th and 5ith I think?)
A lot of other light is provided by luminescent mushrooms and glowing stones. Or, just fire. But, presumably pure Phlogiston fires that don't burn oxygen.
>>
>>89545368
>Also why is Russia called the Tsardom? I can't find the explanation
I don't handle Russian lore at all, but that's a good note to include for the anon who does. Hopefully the doc will get an update.
>>
>>89545368
Tsars got kicked out in 1917
Game takes place before 1917
Therefore Russia is still under the rule of the Tsars.
>>
From what I understand, the Inner Sun is supposedly at the center of the Earth and its light just travels inexplicably to different Layers with varying intensity.

>From what I understand, the Inner Sun is supposedly at the center of the Earth and its light just travels inexplicably to different Layers with varying intensity.
Yes, the light of the Inner Sun bends in inexplicable ways to reach many of the chasms of higher layers. But, most of it is still dark, and oddly it gets more dark the deeper you go. Many Agarthan people still rely on alternate light sources.

Not quite. While the core of the Taiping rebellion was a schizo and his pals fucking up the Qing, a lot of it was also a bunch of other people who really fucking hated the Qing joining in on the fun because a schizo Christian warlord was preferable to the Chinese state. There were Ming loyalists (the Ming had fallen 400 years prior), the Triads, ethnic minority supremacists, and a bunch of peasants who really fucking hated the Qing. In a hypothetical Taiping victory the Taiping would definitely be the dominant power in China, but there'd be a lot of other warlords/groups that would still be running around because the Taiping were a nutty cult that fell because they were even more disorganised than the Qing (and the dysfunction of the Qing state had provoked all these groups into rebellion, which should tell you how disorganised they really were).
>>
>>89545409
In my mind there's a day/night cycle on the upper layers, depending on area, but there's no actual sun just a distant glow in the sky that the colonials are still investigating. The Sky people know where all the light's coming from but they're not telling.
>>
>>89546477
Basically, the whole situation would be fucking nuts but my assessment is as follows
>After the Taiping success, the message gets more effective. They did succeed after all.
>A mixed philosophy of "Jesus Christ has the Mandate of Heaven" becomes the blaring trumpet to a new era of insanity.
>Insert even more highly successful massacres of remaining dissenters here.
>First, they came for the Qing, and I said nothing...
>Then, they came for the Ming, and I said nothing...
>Then everything was okay because Jesus Christ's brother is the true emperor of China and we all accepted that instead of becoming a pile of shredded meat and blood, or having our souls put into terracotta warriors for all eternity.

Hey one of the guys who was creating the original doc, that was formatted better into what you deem 4e, here! The original idea was for it to be the main doc created by multiple anons but that wont really work as we waited for at least 3 or 4 people to give their consent or opinion of a mechanic or change before we would greenlight it. And seeing how nothing changed or was suggested in multiple months I was gone, I have decided to take it up into my own hands and to try and finish it. I invite other anons to create their own editions, but to do it in a separate document. I think this should current one should be rebranded as 3e. And I will call myself 3e Anon from now on, unless you guys got a better name. The last version before I started making major changes can be found in the doc, as I left the date. But I think a copy should be made, so if any anons want to work on their own edition that build from this doc before I started my work, they should make a new doc and copy it.

Now, I want to start play testing. I also need some anons help, so they can format the doc better, I feel it needs that. For anyone interested Im GMT+2 and Im mostly free so just find a reasonable date for the playtest. Saying that Im also interested to play test 1e and 2e. So anons get in contact.
The playtest will probably be done on Owlbear and the communication will be over Discord. Battle report will be posted on the thread as well as our experiences and proposed changes. >Please check out the document!

"A damn good reason to collapse the tunnel and dig elsewhere, son.

If you are close enough to see how their teeth gleam, you are already dead. If all you can see is their glowing orange eyes or their head-splitting mouth, you might manage on getting away. Not likely without explosives to drop the cavern on them, not with their six limbs letting them move so fast, but possible.

It is possible to kill those... things, though it requires more firepower than any sane man possesses. The guns on the tractor, the guns on the boats, and the giant game rifles those madmen brought down into the depths in the insane goal of bagging a beast and bringing it back to show those monsters off... Anything less would be shrugged off, and would swiftly lead to pained cries drawing more of those monsters through the ground beneath our feet."

in other words we'd have the chinese warlord states several decades before it happened. Sun Yat Sen would probably become the great unifier and create the Chinese republic.

>>89552466
I think we'd have a situation where, at least on the surface, China is unified under the Heavenly Kingdom with all the various warlords quietly carving out their own support bases beneath the Christian regime and paying lip service to maintain the appearance of loyalty.
So, assuming something doesn't allow the Heavenly Kingdom to properly stabilize, it's basically in a state of cold war and very likely to explode in about ten years.

I wondered the same thing a few days ago, I think it might have been too early and there were just too much to do and retro and with all the various layers, it couldn't have been easy... and it overwhelmed him.
We could try something more modest, instead of stacking all the layers together just do (2nd Layer + Nth Layer) to show the relation. I think it would definitely help new players get a good feeling of the "logic" of the setting.
>>89553044
>Tell me how did you keep track of unit stats?
nta but on the first playtest I had made a paint doc with all the relevant unit profile on my side, and a health track with numbers. On owlbear you can edit the name of the token. 1e anon indicated damage by writing a letter after the unit's name. Memo absolutely fucking sucks on the site so don't use those, have something ready. Also, you need something like D*scord to talk over, it doesnt have a chat unless you share audio, which is browser dependent.
Also you can easily cook a map in less than a minute using Shamat. Just use the random map and select the appropriate hexes in the generator.
Here's what I had.

So, I was reading Henry Prevost Babbage's paper on the Analytical Engine and I found this. (Henry was Charles Babbage's youngest son)
>It was evident that by interposing a few connecting-wheels, the column of Result can be made to influence the last Difference, or other part of the machine in several ways. Following out this train of thought, he first proposed to arrange the axes of the Difference Engine circularly, so that the Result column should be near that of the last Difference, and thus easily within reach of it. He called this arrangement “the engine eating its own tail.” But this soon led to the idea of controlling the machine by entirely independent means, and making it perform not only Addition, but all the processes of arithmetic at will in any order and as many times as might be required. Work on the Difference Engine was stopped on 10th April, 1833 and the first drawing of the Analytical Engine is dated in September, 1834.
To reiterate:
>He called this arrangement “the engine eating its own tail.”
Let me say that again:
>“the engine eating its own tail.”

I like the Terracotta Dragon idea, but I think it should happen later.
The whole reason he ate the weed was because he ran out of supplies under siege; if he got Mu support before then instead (Via the Satsuma entrance, perhaps? Leading to further Mu/Japan skirmishes, of course.) then we can just have him suffer an aneurysm later.

I personally prefer the idea that China is more in a cold war as the different proto-warlords vie for power while trying to avoid tipping their hands too early. As far as the Heavenly Kingdom is concerned, China has undergone a Miracle Of Peace and there is no internal conflict brewing.
That will almost certainly go tits up during the upcoming Deluge.

Yeah, most Agarthan influence above ground is covert for the moment. They’re in the planning stage for turning surfacers into their puppet states, even India is largely independent of Lemurian control at this point despite all the prophets skulking about.
Most Agarthan states are trying to find potential allies/satraps at the moment, though they’ll probably try to assume a dominant position when it comes time to make things official.
Except Atlan, which seems to have few if any interactions with the surface. They seem fine letting the outlanders come to them, crossing the wall in the process, and then just butchering them underground.

Might be less expanding, and more exploring. If the Heavenly Kingdom's in the middle of a cold war, I can see some participants funding expeditions below. After all, the Kingdom only exists because of the aid provided by Mu, so perhaps there's something else down there that could possibly tip the scales in their favour. Still probably not as common as other major powers.

Requesting feedback & ideas for an Analytical Engineer Specialist for the Brits.
I feel Babbage Sr. might work well for a British Leader too.
I don't really know what to do with them from the point of view of special rules. I thought something like
> At the beginning of your turn, roll 1d10 and set the dice aside. On a result of 1-5, at any point in your turn, you may use that dice as a roll result for a single roll, on a result of 6-10, at any point in your turn, you may use that result as the TN of a roll. Remove that dice once used.
> At the end of both player's turn, if you have not used that dice, add its value as Silver to your Chest.

>>
>>89561262
>what Prophesies do
How about
> For each Prophet model, a Lemuria player must make one Prophecy at the beginning of the game. A Prophecy is a statement like "Model X will be killed by model Y". The Prophet model profile will specify how these statements can be worded and how precise they must be. If at any point of this game the statement would be fulfilled, the Prophecy turned out to be true.

With a Prophet model having rules like
> Apprentice Prophet : This model's Prophesies can only be in the form [At least n Enemy Soldiers will die during this battle] or [Friendly Character X will deal at least n Wounds to enemy Soldiers models during this battle]. If the Prophecy comes true, add n Silver to your Chest, lose n Dread and regain n Leadership points.
(That would be for a very shitty Prophet who basically predicts shit that will come true anyways.)
That would be pretty complex but at the same time would stay true to the spirit of what its trying to represent.
>>
>>89561262
Didn't we figure it out a looong time ago? There are supposed to be different prophetic abilities depending on the unit, but they are genreally all related to altering the odds of rolls. The generic prophecy that almost every Lemurian gets is the one that let's you reroll your attack/save, activated beforehand. But there are other examples like Vritravana's death curse of Kupinada's attack-canceling prophecy in the unit doc. The price was supposed to be increasing chance of bad side effects from a table per prophecy used, kinda like perils of the arcane.
I imagine the Analitical Engineer could use a variant of the generic prophecy. Let's say he deploys the Engine on the field and must spend a turn computing. After that you can apply one generic prophecy on any unit within the radius of the AE. The perils mechanic could be replaced here with limited uses or resource consumption or breakdown chance maybe.

Sounds good. De facto independent fringes of the empire paying lip service to the new emperor, propped up by the Europeans, Lemurians (Tibet is a given) and the Japanese (who have invaded at least once as per the Beauchamp novel) all trying to carve out their spheres of influence. The hypothetical Eight-Nation Alliance intervention scenario could be about the Taiping regime trying to restore full control over the empire. That's great material for any potential large-scale wargame stuff. But when it comes to a "scramble for Africa meets Jules Verne" skirmish/exploration game, SuperChina sending in the terracota armies doesn't seem quite right imo.

I kinda like the idea of there being seperate types of TW's for the heavenly kingdom and mercenaries. Like, the Heavenly kingdom has the traditional terracotta's, but among mercenaries, you've got rogue terracota warriors. Maybe they're an earlier variety, made before Taiping perfected the process. So you've got a bunch of golems running about with the soul and memories of captured Qing soldiers, fighting a war that's been over for years, for a cause that's long dead, all while having some pretty major Nam flashbacks whenever somoene mentions the Heavenly Kingdom.

I think it was supposed to be per use. The more you use it the more likely it was you get a side effect and then you'd determine the actual side effect separately. There was also a proposal to merge it with the morale system which wasn't elaborated on, but I imagine it could be simply Dread gain for overusing prophecies. Or losing Will/Discipline. I think we'd be fine with a simple table with things like unit generates Dread, unit loses Will, unit gets wounded, unit enters frenzy, unit burns out and becomes a Degenerate etc.

It's time to contribute to the thread with my unfiltered dogshit opinion.
How do we feel about including non-combat characters a la ASOIAF? Instead of having them on the battlefield doing things, they are perhaps working behind the curtains to advance the plot of this or that warband. This would allow us to field named characters more easily - it would make sense that they could be involved in the skirmishes of this or that group so long as they are not staking their lives on that battle.
>>
>>89570285
Absolutely, but the only question is if they need another persons soul to power it or if it leeches off their own somehow?
My vote is other to maximize suffering and casualties
>>

Minister Eiffel
> As himself, but with the body of an early professional strongmen, those that bent metal beams for show. Possibly with a metallic glint to his skin.
> Neanderthal Condotierri
Neanderthals (apemen or cavemen would do to) in late medieval armour, possibly either Italian or Spanish in design.

The cheap option is the one powered by your own soul, with added risk of husking much more easily.
The expensive option has someone else in there. You live another life in your dreams and wake up feeling like you’ve forgotten who you are.

>How do we feel about including non-combat characters a la ASOIAF?
There are "non-combat" model characters in the sense that they will definitely not be there on the field to deal damage but bring utility. The Speleologist and The Hiker comes to mind.
There are also Sponsors, which can be Characters or organizations or even Hyperboreans "Gods", which can be chosen during recruitment and which gives special rules to your Expedition, so that you can tie narratively your Expedition to a Character without having to field him.
We are still coming up with Sponsors but the idea was to have them include some campaign condition you had to fulfilled before the end or take a severe penalty. So maybe they'll be restricted to campaign play, not sure, haven't really touched them back up in a few threads.

This is an old version, the special rules are getting modified in the Merc book but to get you an idea.
>>
>>89568770
I'm biased being the one who made the system, but my impressions were
> Recruitment was quick for me, less than 3 minutes to figure out the whole thing. (Note : This was different for 1e anon, who was playing Atlantis, which has a lot of inbuilt permanent modifiers available to it, so he had to spend more time adjusting the profiles.)
> Deployment was really fucking quick, and I felt that was a strength.
> The alternating activation means you have very little downtime, and on the first turn, its like high-speed chess, you mostly just move twice everyone.
> I say mostly because we did fire off some range attacks on the first turn each. Range is good.
> Range is in fact, very good. While you won't one shot models you will drop Grievous Wounds more reliably through range than in Melee.
> Melee was a mess. Either I made Bayonets too weak or shielded Akritoi are really strong, which I'm not against given they are pretty slow. We got to melee on the third turn, and a lot of models already had wounds on them. Had I (the Brits) had a better shooting on the second turn I might have won (didn't help I forgot the BAP's Line Fire rule), or cause a huge boost in Dread on the third turn, but as it was my men fumbled like idiots.
> Melee was longer than range to resolve, and not necessarily to much gain. I want more data to see if this was just a fluke but the few times wounds were dealt repeatedly by the same models on the same models they were the same wound types. If there is no variation then we might as well cut it down the Melee process to be identical to Range, since that worked well.
> Mount charges seemed easy, fast and intuitive. We only had the Atlantis Scion on a Skysaur do a mount charge I think. Scion missed the BAP, the Skysaur didn't. I'd like to see how an all cavalry Expedition plays out, I feel it'd be brutal.
> Scatters were too much. Rolling a 3 on a d3 on this type of map with ~15 models means you almost always hit nothing.

cont.
> So I'm gonna set Scatter for thrown weapons to 1 by default, and maybe once we get to Artillery units and Warmachines we'll reintroduce d3 and maybe even d6 Scatters for downrange shots.
> Brit Leader (Modern Major General) was useless, literally his only impact was getting maybe two models to move freely at some point.
> Sargent Major didn't to much either, I feel his Affix Bayonet helped compress AP a lot but at the same time Bayonets were shit sooo...
> BAP seemed fine. As I said I forgot the Line Fire rule which might have saved my bacon but otherwise they didn't die too quick or too slow.
> Black Watch similarly seemed fine, they didn't pull as much weight as I expected but they took a lot of damage to bring down, and yet still went down by the third turn.
> Akritoi seemed really slow (all of Atlantis tnh) at first but it didn't prevent melee from being reached and them getting off charges. Their defensive stats (Evasion + Armour) were insane, but it also didn't prevent them from taking wounds or eventually dying (I was told many times they had families).
> Iconoclasts + Arbalests were fucking brutal. The Reload time was a very welcome respite for the BAPs, and while it was a lot, two volleys is all you need to murder most models.
> Dread was a non-factor, probably because we stopped too early, I assume it would have spiked a lot for me on the 4th turn. I'm lowering the Discipline values of profiles I'm putting out by 1-2 to adjust while more Dread generating units comes out.
> We used no terrain rules for this battle except that Forests provided cover from range. Since Atlantis had a more melee based army he started on the Forest side. Since his units already had really good Evasion getting Cover probably didn't change much in the end.
> Game took about 2 1/2 hours to get through 3 turns, with maybe 2 5~10 minutes break. While this may seem long, account for the fact we were text chatting through D*scord.

Random ideas I've had for units with these prosthetics (if that's they way we want to handle them):
Priests who buff other units with Terracotta bits (yes the meme strat is taking a whole army of them and having them constantly buffing each other)
Veterans who are just generally pretty solid units with a little extra staying power
And Zealots, who are pretty shit at everything, but are cheap and durable, so you basically just use them to bog down enemy units

Should we keep Worker units in the game?
I know they have been here from the start but think about it. It makes little to no sense. Most maps will be more or less open. So some maps will have a must have miner unit, and its not like you can surprise the enemy by digging cuz he can see it. Introducing Fog of war isn't a option. And for engineers I also feel like they are more or less needless. How often will you actually need them?
Im not saying Delete them from the game cuz they will have a use in the campaign mod. But I don't think e should have more then one worker unit per faction. Maybe one multirole one that could work as an engineer. Miners would just turn out to be cheap melee units because digging will have a limited use.
>>
>>89596948
>But I don't think e should have more then one worker unit per faction
But I think that's already the case?
When there was only a single doc I wrote workers as cheap units that are easily replaced but are not that good in a straight up fight.
Imo they also fulfill a good thematic role of regular Joes stuck in an adventure novel as background characters
Also, the more specialized ones are mostly mercs and have unique abilities, so they fit the 'specialist' niche better imo
>>
>>89596948
I don't think we've ever tested them, or anything to do with workers. We should wait until we've at least tried the excavation and building mechanics before hacking them out.

I mean, I was thinking they could be kinda like the dark angels, them being jacks of all trades, less because they're good at everything, and more becase the units specialise so hard in different directions. They're very good at specific thing, but don't ask them to do anything else.
>>
>>89600558
I kinda like that idea.
Taiping is all about planning and knowing how to counter your opponent. Need cheap, durable chaff? Use Terracotta Soldiers. Need assassins? Grab some Jesuits. It all depends on who you're fighting and all your units are hyper-specialized for their specific purpose.
>>
>>89596948
>Should we keep Worker units in the game?
They're not part of the primary combat, but they may be part of the campaign mode when we start developing that.
>>
I believe someone suggested that either Gorgs or Lee-Dehr have a "knock back" effect by default, do I have this right?
Would anyone be opposed if Lee-Dehr was kept pretty barebone as a Leader, maybe just said knockback mechanic on top of being a tank? It'd be thematic what with him being just a random dude.

>I believe someone suggested that either Gorgs or Lee-Dehr have a "knock back" effect by default, do I have this right?
Yes Lee-Dehr had knockback with his Gorg Sceptre.

Are the Oldest Guard a French elite infantry unit that are cheaper for La Ombre, perhaps?

I was going to put it as a Merc Elite, but recruitable as core for La Ombre (so not as part of the "1 unit from every Faction" lot).
By default I dislike straight up discount rules but thinking about it it might work, since they are Elite and in 2e you can only take 3 max. And you have either Napoleon as a Leader which costs 1/3 of an expedition by himself, or the DDC which is mostly, well, shit. He does boost them to an insane 4 AP if they stick next to him tho.
>>
>>89603090
I think they should be specifically French. The Oldest Guard have no interest in working alongside, say, the British.
>>
>>89603532
Or Austrians, or Russians. Although it'd be interesting to know what Napoleon thinks of the Japanese.
>>
>>89596948
Worker units will be essential for the campaign mode, but their skirmish uses depend on the terrain and objectives. I really think we need to emphasise the underground nature of the game if we want to make them useful, especially if there's mcguffins/temples/whatever both sides need to dig to to win. Otherwise they're cheap meatshields that can take shots meant for more precious units.
>>
>>89603555
The Napoleonic wars practically dictated how the traders heading to Japan behaved, so it may be more interesting to consider the reverse. Especially when it's entirely possible his opinions on them would be shaped by encounters with Satsuma forces instead of the proper forces of Imperial Japan, and thus would be unbothered by their presence at best.
>>
>>89596948
They aren't needed on the testing maps yet, as those are for testing cavern battles. When we start running tunnel maps where the workers practically crashed into each other via digging, or when an impassable cave runs right through the middle of the map, those workers become a key resource you need to protect.

Plus, losing all workers in your employ could act as a loss or major penalty in campaign mode, making them just as much a valuable resource as your offensive capabilities. It won't help you if you win a skirmish, only to lose the campaign against your opponent precisely because they took out your workers before you could eliminate theirs.

When you think about it, terracotta is made out of clay, and clay was made by God, so really we're just binding the souls of the dead into God's creation forever.
Get in the statuary, Shen Ji.

Let's talk about Saurs.
I suggested a while back that we should have both modern-style dinosaurs as well as fucked up Victorian era ones, how do we feel about that idea?
>>
>>89613241
A mix sounds fun. And also execute anybody who suggests feathers
>>
>>89613515
Fuck you. Feathered Saur lore.
>Feathered Saurs are seen as portents of changing times in Lemuria.
>While few Lemurians practice Saur riding, those that do will often refuse to ride feathered Saurs, believing it to be an affront to the prophecies.
>The exception to this is the Fateless clans, who will take great pains to capture wild feathered Saurs for use in warfare.
>Mu has no opinion on the topic in particular, and it is largely a simple matter of preference and availability.
>Some Muic riders prefer to ride feathered Saurs as a sign of their wealth, as the scarce nature of the animals makes it a foolish investment to try and use them for war.
>Others disdain it as garish, comparing them to the feathered dresses worn by Muic dancers.
>And, of course, Atlan prefers Saurs without feathers as it involves less effort to clean and prepare the beasts for cooking.

Yes. All dinos are cool. Put them all in. Doesnt matter if accurate or not. Just. Put. Them. All. In.

Just the flying ones. That way they'll stand out among the others.
>>
>>89616925
Skyspiders aren't flying, I added them precisely to give the Sky People some other form of locomotion. Though them being able to glide instead could be kino.

>>89613241
I agree. Crystal Palace dinos are kino, despite inaccuracies.

So, let's say I'm putting in Gorgs as a "subfaction" in the Merc book.
Lee-Dehr being the Leader.
Stinking Gorg being the "chaff"
What else should I put in? Three Horns as an Elite? The ability to recruit Saurs and other Beasts? Cavemen Condottieri?
Pic unrelated.
>>
>>89627613
Four Horns are the elite.
I think they have a kind of beetle that they could bring with them.
Should stink be an ability? Reduces discipline of units without the stink ability in a certain radius?
>>
>>89627636
>I think they have a kind of beetle that they could bring with them.
Cool I'll work that in.
>Should stink be an ability?
There should be something done with it, I think, is stink juice like an beverage or what? I was never exactly clear on that.
>>
>>89627745
Stink juice is a beverage, but also the cornerstone of the Gorg diet. It’s basically a soup, really, except you drink it from a cup. All sorts of things go in the pot in an attempt to make the most foul stink imaginable.
Also, Gorgs just smell hideous, likely due to their diet.
>>
>>89627613
>Stinking Gorg being the "chaff"
That's StinkER Gorg to you, chump.
>>
>>89628043
noted, will fix it.

I'll have you know, "Stinking" Gorg is a slur. You would be smart to not use it. Or else.
