You are an arcanaloth who is a cute foxgirl.

You are visiting Sigil. Where do you go?
>>
>>120
Visit Lady of Pain-chan!
>>
>>120
TO THE BROTHEL
>>
>>136
seconded!
>>
>>120
First of all, take stock of our tails and their fluffiness.

The Lady of Pain is nowhere in sight! You heard that she appears only to intervene against major disruptions.

>>150

The closest brothel you find is named "Limbo Bimbo Ladies." It has all sorts of giant frogs in it. The architecture changes every time you blink and sometimes becomes a roiling mass of chaos-matter.

The cutest one here is a girl who only sits like a frog though! Maybe she could be a more humanoid slaad?

>>204

You have only one tail! You are not a special arcanaloth.
>>
>>243
But is our tail's fluffiness at sufficient levels, at least?
>>
>>243
Ask frog whether life is sad without a fluffy tail. Compliment her quads, all that squatting must have done wonders.
>>
>>243
Squeeze the frog's stomach!
>>
>>243
Screw this, lets go join the Sensates!

>>253

Of course! No tail is fluffier than yours!

You think. Maybe. Even a bunch of archons from Mount Celestia complimented you on it once though!

>>272

"I could give myself a tail if I super-duper-really wanted to, kero kero! This whole building is suffused with enough chaos to shape just about anything," says the frog-squatting girl with a gregarious smile. "But frogs are not supposed to have tails. That is just too weird, even for a slaad like me!"

>>274

"No touching until you show some jink, berk!" she is quick to snap out, pushing you back with the tip of her incredibly long tongue.

>>277

This brothel does, in fact, seem to be Sensate-sponsored judging by the faction's crest prominently displayed on the wall.
>>
>>326
Inquire as to how you might go about earning some '''jink'''.
>>
>>326
If we work at a brothel, that means other people will touch our fluffy tail, and their oily hands will ruin its fluffiness.
Let's find the establishment owner and see if we can't become a Namer!
>>
>>326
Use Arcanaloth powers to squeeze her stomach!
>>
>>345

"You could join us Sensates! We have lots of jink. In fact, we are the richest of the factions in all the Cage, kero kero!" The froggy girl rapidly nod-nod-nods her head. "We could use a foxy wizard like you!"

"... But not in this brothel," tone changing to a more dismissive one. "You are a fox and not a frog, and a Gehennan and not a Limbo native." Blink blink blink, and a tilt of her head. "But then again, nobody expects a fox amongst frogs, and that is great! Up to your free choice though, kero kero."

>>385

"Our owner is not here right now. Go ask around in the Civic Festhall!" the froggy young lady eagerly adds.

>>419

You fire off a simple Mage Hand cantrip to tickle her tummy!

"Okay, I said no touching before, but this is kinda nice, kero kero!" she pleasantly remarks between giggles.
>>
>>452
>"Our owner is not here right now. Go ask around in the Civic Festhall!" the froggy young lady eagerly adds.
Owner as in the Factol or of the establishment?
Either way, let's go to the Civic Festhall!
>>
>>419
>>452

P.S. The giggling sounds an awful lot like a "Reeeeeee."
>>
>>452
Civic Festhall you say? Time to get a move on. Thank the frog for this valuable tip.
>>
>>452

Seconding this>>483

And ask her name. You'll come back when you have some jink.

Mostly because she does an admirable job selling her cuteness
>>
>>557
She never skips leg day!
>>
>>565

If we can hire/seduce her, she'll do squats on us. With a double-headed dildo/the required organs connecting us
>>
>>557

The frog says her name is "Kera"... on most days.

>>464
>>483

After asking around at the Civic Festhall and being directed by some secretary-suited sheep-bariaur lady, you arrive in the office of a mermaid who swims in the air like it was water.

"I am Factotum Mara, owner of a fair few businesses. I see you wish to join the Society, but know that we accept true connoisseurs of the senses, not just any hedonist or thrill-seeker." Her voice is like the gentle waves of the sea, and she smells like pleasant surf.

She lays out five shiny-looking crystals in midair. They thrum with a pleasant tune and even smell nice! "These are sensory recording stones. Go out into the Great Wheel, or even just the rest of Sigil, and record five sublime experiences. One for each of the five senses. Alternatively, a single experience that embodies all five senses will do."

"No, you need not take these crystals with you. They will be used to transfer the experiences you undergo once you are back here. Any questions?" She lays a finger on her cheek and tap-tap-taps it, and her piscean lower body undulates in pleasing motions.

This mermaid seems all business-like too!
>>
>>627
>Ask for companion.
After all, experiences are best shared!
>>
>>641

"I can spare the time to accompany you. It will be a new experience to swim alongside one of tail most voluminous." A smirk breaks the mermaid's otherwise serious demeanor.

"Even by sight, I can tell that will be a delight to touch... not that I intend on abusing a new recruit through unwarranted invasion of personal space," turning her blushing face away.
>>
>>120
Laugh at Sigil for being maxflat
>>
>>627
Is it fun?
>>
>>713
>another cute girl
How about no? We got that shit on lock down! Don't need no mermaid getting our tail wet and crowding into our space.
>>
>>728

"Fun? Perhaps. A learning experience? Absolutely," is what the mermaid Mara calmly insists.

>>733

"If it is a boy you would prefer..." The fishy girl presses a button on her desk. No less than a few seconds later, some sort of dark-haired angel comes fluttering right in on tiny, black wings!

"Someone would like an escort, now, hmmm~?" This aasimon is a weird-looking one. Even his halo is black, and one of his hands is all skeletal. He smells like cemetery flowers! And of course, he is a boy in a dress, your sharp eyes can tell!

"Mayhaps I might share this finest of afternoons with you?" The angel boy cackles like a hyena right in front of you like it was the funniest thing in the world!

>>718

But everyone knows the torus-shaped city of Sigil is very curvy!
>>
>>713

Tell her you don't mind being abused like that, but that she'll have to ask for the other ways. Then act cute to tempt her even more
>>
>>847

Nah, you'll take the mermaid. But she has to keep her promise to molest us. It help us think, probably.
>>
>>847
Uh, maybe we don't need any help after all...
>>
>>852
>>867

At your request, Mara the mermaid escorts the osseous-handed angel right back out the door!

"You are very forward. I cannot help but find this naturally suspicious given that you are a fiend, but the potential rewards here seem to outweigh the risks," passing judgment as she nods her head a few times.

"Let us be on our way out of the festhall. Perhaps when we return, you might be shown the full extent of its majesty and its glamour," she assures you.

"Five experiences for each of the senses, or one for all five. Where might we begin?"

Rolled 19 (1d20)

>>970
But who will be the big spoon?
>>931
Let's go for sight! It'll be easy to do as we can just look in the mirror! Maybe even pose a bit!
>>
>>992

The exterior walls of the Civic Festhall look to be made of myriad materials and just as many textures to match; large numbers of passers-by walk up to the walls simply to stroke them and marvel at the many surfaces, from soft and fuzzy, to smooth and metallic, to coarse and sand-like.

The floor of the entrance pad is constructed from just as many materials, veined in the colors of the rainbow. Patterns reminiscent of stained glass decorate the ground; a close inspection reveals them to be different kinds of crystals, and each of them resonates a pleasing melody.

The doors are tall and narrow and surrounded by glittering stones that form abstract images of sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste. Flat outside the outside wall, a geyser of crystal-blue water that smells of many kinds of oils and flowers regularly erupts upwards for hundreds of feet, seemingly dissipating into the air.

This means that one of the textures along the building's exterior is "mirror," and you find one to pose in!

You look absolutely glamorous! You are the prettiest fox-fiend in all the multiverse, truly, truly! Even the other passers-by start to blush and regard you with infatuated looks and "Kyaaas~"! Some of them even ask to touch that fluffy-wuffy tail of yours!
>>
>>1054
>>977
Lets find out if we can sing! Lets become the idol of Sigil!
>>
>>1054
Surely this must fulfill the sense of sight! Now, let us go for hearing.
>>
>>1054

Seconding this>>1088

Try to seduce the mermaid with a song. Or by being cute about not being able to sing, in the small chance you can't.
>>
>>1088

Capitalizing on the attention you are currently gathering, you clear your throat, invoke a simple spell to cast out your voice to a great distance, and start to croon out a pleasant song!

The mermaid Mara narrows eyes at the sight of this, then conjures from thin air a large band's worth of instruments! They all autonomously play delightful music to back you and your siren-like voice up!

Your song draws a massive crowd towards you. The audience includes majestic celestials and menacing fiends, towering dragons and teensy faeries, woeful wraiths and energetic elementals, polyhedral clockwork constructs and chaos-shrouded giant frogs, magical beasts and aberrations with shapes plucked from a madman's fever dreams, and multifarious other creatures still. And they all smile and cheer!

It looks like you are doing a splendid job of creating experiences of sight and sound.

>>1155

By the end of the song, your lyrics turn to more sensual verses aimed directly towards Mara. This disrupts her concentration enough that the mermaid's spell over the conjured instruments ends.

Sadly, this causes your performance to abruptly cease! What will you do now?
>>
>>1191
Appreciate our good work, and on to the next sense. How's about a nice place for some food? Get Mara to show us one.
>>
>>1210

The crowd starts to disperse once the song concludes, although many ask for your autograph and ask to touch your tail!

"There is a new restaurant that might suit you... or rather, contrast you, if you are adventurous enough for it." The mermaid's tone is more challenging than anything.

Mara produces in her hand a tiny blade of grass that smells icky and holy to your fiendish nose, then drags you through a nearby archway. It shines with an azure light! A portal!

And then you are now in the middle of a fancy yet rustic looking restaurant whose waiters and waitresses are all animal-eared, animal-tailed people! But they all have a celestial radiance to them. Ewww, these must be guardinals, the race opposite your own, the yugoloths!

True to the animal theme of this restaurant, there are many domestic pets here to be hired and petted, including half-dragon cats and half-faerie dogs.
>>
>>1191

Laugh heartily and go spend more time with Mara. Ask her how she felt and what she thought.
>>
>>1318
Find someone cute!
Sit in their lap!
Make them feed us good food!
Taste and smell are basically the same thing anyways
>>
>>1318

Seconding >>1331, but make Mara participate. Once you've finished eating, imply that you want something sweet for dessert, like herself.
>>
>>1318
Time for buffet.
>>
>>1318
adding to my vote here >>1347:

Talk business with Mara. You have the song, she's good at magic music, would she likes to make a band with you to gain money, feelings and power? As well as spending lots of time with a cute girl
>>
>>1388
Cute boys too!
>>
>>1326

"The song of your people was mesmerizing indeed. I never thought that the Fourfold Furnaces of Gehenna would have had such a rich musical tradition," Mara compliments with a curt smile.

"As for how I felt..." The mermaid blushes, bites her lip sheepishly, and rotates her body away from you. "L-Let us save such discussions for when we return to the Civic Festhall."

>>1331
>>1347

You find a cute harpy girl waitress—an avoral guardinal—sitting down at the edge of the restaurant, taking a break. You plop your butt down on her lap, and your fluffy tail goes right into her face!

But while the avoral is clearly enjoying this (even if she is struggling and blushing all the while), you are feeling really quite grimy and uncomfortable. You are a sheltered young fiend, and you have never had the chance to acclimate yourself to the touch and the aura of celestials! What will you do?

>>1356

The buffet's food looks visually appetizing, but it somehow makes you feel woozy. Even the ingredients must be from the heavenly plane of Elysium!
>>
>>1398
Sample some likely treats then. What kinda food do we prefer?

Gonna sleep, make sure to complete all the senses, anons.
>>
>>1398
>You are a sheltered young fiend, and you have never had the chance to acclimate yourself to the touch and the aura of celestials! What will you do?
Might makes right! If you can't stomach this, you're not right at all!

And that's just not right!
>>
>>1411
>>1415

Your favorite foods are seafood sushi and sashimi of all kinds! There does not look to be any of that in this restaurant, but there is nevertheless some raw fish labeled "crudo" in the buffet, covered in fragrant oils. They are surrounded by magical energies that keep them nice and fresh!

After a sweet request towards the avoral waitress, the blushing harpy-like celestial blubbers out a "Y-Yes, ma'am," and rushes off to get you seated and bring both you and Mara some plates of crudo from the buffet!

The celestial fish makes you feel dizzy just from sight alone, but you are brave enough to plop one right into your mouth and start chewing. Your tongue feels like it is imploding! And then, when you swallow it, your throat and stomach feel like they are imploding too!

... But at least it tasted great!

"Are you undergoing any difficulty?" the mermaid Mara coolly asks as she samples some of the raw fish herself.

"Celestials cannot stomach fiends and fiendish food, sometimes literally, and the converse applies to fiends with respect to celestials and celestial food," the Sensate explains with a worried expression. "But you should grow accustomed to it soon."

Ready for another bite?
>>
>>1398

Eat the food, analyses the sensations the aura and the experience create in you.

Then smile brightly at Mara
>>
>>1388

"As far as musical prospects are concerned, I own many a business here in the City of Doors. My finances are secure, and I can afford a blind risk or two," the mermaid confides as you deliberate over the remaining pieces of crudo on your plate.

"Magic related to music is not a specialty of mine. It is simply necessary to branch out into many fields if one is to be a dilettante as many of us Sensates are," the fishy girl further explains with a contented smile. "In any given minute of our lives, we never know what experiences we might have the opportunity to gift others with, nor the experiences we have the opportunity to partake in ourselves. It helps to be prepared for the most unusual of occurrences... like an arcanaloth abruptly starting a concert in the middle of the street," smirking a smidge.

>>1476

As far as studying the aura of the food is concerned, it is very... "bright and light" is the best way you can put it. Like staring into the sun of a mortal world in the middle of a desert. It is something that should be illuminating, and yet all it does to your senses is sting and nauseate.

You feel as though you can get used to this though! The food physically smells great, even if its aura is still rebuking you.

The smile you put on for Mara is met with a reciprocal smile from the mermaid! "I see you are deriving enjoyment from this. Are you tumbling to our faction's ways, now?"

It does not appear that this quest will be going much further, alas.

This was my very first quest. I had started the thread on a whim, with the mere intention to leave a tongue-in-cheek thread on the board and leave it at that. However, I foolishly committed through, simply to see what would happen.

The results were pleasing. It seems that what few other posters responded took to the quest positively. I did observe a gradual decline in interest after I progressed from "goofy animu tomfoolery" to "more serious attempts at conveying aspects of the setting." Perhaps the players felt bait-and-switched?

Would this thread happen to have piqued anyone's interest in the Planescape setting, or any of its races, factions, or planes? Would anyone like to learn more? My rendition of the setting is admittedly significantly more anime-like than the default, out-of-the-box setting.

Thank you. This means much to me.

I had admittedly put very little effort into this (in fact, I was playing in a slow-paced one-on-one RPG campaign at the same time I was running this quest), and I gave far too little detail on NPCs, locations, and key concepts such as "What is an arcanaloth?" or "What is Sigil?"

If I run another animu Planescape quest, I will likely give it my full attention. However, would it be better to preserve the quick, casual, minimal-detail QMing style, or to have something more serious and with a more firmly-established protagonist?

I have also been told that responding to individual posters is a poor idea. In my second quest on this board (>>1752), I had experimented with a different style involving answering players all at once in a single contiguous block of text, although I had still occasionally responded individually.

What gives a better flow to responses?

It was nice.

Generally I'd advice first seeing if there is a general trend of agreement between the votes to build from, and then not linking any specific post in the new update. If there isn't any major agreement and you don't feel like fastidiously counting and re-counting, waiting for an option to come out on top, just pick whichever one suggested that you feel is most in-character or most fun to write or what have you. Which approach is best here can often depend on the quest - for example, in a serious drama you're probably best off sticking in-character, while in an animu spoof quest like this one just picking what makes for fun updates could be best.

And of course, if the prompts don't take much space (such as asking a question for example) there's nothing wrong with combining multiple votes like you've done here.

Overall I'd say this quest kind of lacked direction which was its main 'problem', and I don't mean that by leaving the votes fairly open-ended either. The senses thing was quite nice as far as interactivity goes, balancing direction and required creativity on anons parts well. What I mean more is the general direction of the quest WRT setting, tone, etc. The dissonance between Planescape and very anime characters and interactions makes it hard for anons to really feel confident in their votes, and whether it fits the quest and characters or not. Is this vote too stupid/bland for something set in Sigil? Is this vote too serious for a quest whose MC is entranced with her own fluffy tail? Etc. Whether it was the anons who voted getting a feel for where you wanted things to go, or you picking up on the votes and writing accordingly, it actually worked out in this thread - but I feel it might have made a lot of people who entered the thread hesitant to contribute

If I start a new thread, perhaps I will set a few guidelines for overall tone and theme. I was envisioning something less along the lines of, say, the Planescape: Torment video game and more akin to Touhou or a goofy fantasy anime.

I could reboot the premise under the same character (fluffy-tailed fox-wizard-daemon goes to Sigil), start a new quest with a more firmly-established character, or continue this one with an explicitly stated direction. What do you think might work best?
>>
>>3624
I don't think continuing is a problem or anything. If you feel you could do it better then restarting is fine, but otherwise you might as well stick with this. Fluffy adventures in Sigil is fine too.
>>
>>3624
I'd play Fluffy Adventures in Sigil. Just, yes, give it a bit more direction and effort and you'd get a quest I'd follow.
>>
>>3648
>>3729

I am currently leaning towards continuing under a more firmly-established version of the character in this thread, if only because the most divisive portion of a Planescape-based quest, which faction to join, has already been handled via this (significantly casual and low-effort) thread.

That might turn some potential players off, however, since they would have effectively had no say in the ever-important selection of faction. Would it be a deal-breaker for some?

Additionally, I maintain a series of "Planescape General" threads over in /tg/. They are not the most populous or active of threads due to the setting being fairly obscure, but if there are any questions you would like to ask regarding the setting, that would be a good place to do so. The latest thread is here: >>>/tg/46958459
>>
>>3826
I'd missed the start of this quest but would be fine with continuing the current trend of fluffy tails and hedonism.

At the moment it is easy enough to pick up and get into, so shouldn't turn off anyone new.
>>
>>3853

>we accept true connoisseurs of the senses, not just any hedonist or thrill-seeker

Mara the mermaid (the one and only mortal in this quest so far) has specifically stated that the point of the Society of Sensation definitely not just hedonism or thrill-seeking, although I suppose it could certainly be twisted into that.
>>
One issue I foresee with this quest is that the protagonist are their character are both wizard-types. In the unnamed protagonist's case, being a wizard is part and parcel of their race.

In a D&D setting context, that means the answer to "What can these characters do with their magic?" is "Just about anything."

In various D&D editions, there are a number of checks and balances that prevent wizards from god-moding everything (although they are at their weakest in 3.X and Pathfinder), and this usually involves spell preparation and managing per-day-based spell uses. However, this would be unfeasible in a light-hearted quest.

This means that our unnamed arcanaloth and our mermaid wizard can, for all intents and purposes, produce any kind of spell at any moment in order to solve any problem, thereby trivializing most challenges.

Should this be part of the goofy fun in a light-hearted animu game, or should I be more stringent when it comes to defining precisely what the protagonist and her companion can do?
>>
>>4088
Why not just do whatever's convenient to the event/joke/story. Like a "woops i forgot to bring that one i can't do x."

>>4151

In other words, present a variety of spell choices as prompts, and stipulate that write-in actions should either make use of one of the spells above or rely on mundane skills?
>>
>>4164
I was thinking more along the lines of just straight up saying "i didn't bring x today." when someone suggests a plot-affecting spells, but having choices is probably a lot better.
>>
>>4088
>>4164
>flaw; has not prepared the right spell for that today
No spell can be cast that solves the problem directly. Everything must go through a convoluted plan of minimum two steps to use one's Spellcasting abilities to do something.
>>
>>4088

Have a list of "spells they usually prepare", and say that it won't change unless the players actually vote for it.

Also, you should probably do more of a "formal vote, the winning one(s) is what the character choose to do" rather than use a "anything anyone vote goes in".

But eh, do whatever you like the best
>>
Also, I'd read the adventures of fluffly fiend and cute mermaid in Sigil.
>>
>>4088
>Should this be part of the goofy fun in a light-hearted animu game, or should I be more stringent when it comes to defining precisely what the protagonist and her companion can do?

There's no real reason you can't do both. Lighthearted animu game doesn't mean not having rules on it.

I'd say our main character needs some sort of "character sheet", even a very very simple one.
>>
>>4702
>>5099

I will be using prompts and more formal voting next time, with some form of character sheet. I will not be using any D&D edition in particular, and instead a hyper-simplified 2d6 system if ever rolls will be necessary (which will be very rare).

That said, another concern of mine is setting-specific knowledge. Planescape is a setting that has a *very* high entry barrier due to setting-specific knowledge. In this quest, I never truly bothered explaining what Sigil, slaadi, arcanaloths, fiends, celestials, Limbo, Gehenna, or Elysium was, nor did I bother bringing up that Mara the mermaid was different from other NPCs in that she was a mere mortal.

Should I continue to casually drop setting-specific terms like these and expect players to look them up in a glossary (perhaps one I link in a pastebin in the opening post)? Should I explain what each of these terms mean in brief detail whenever I use one for the first time? Should I assume the character to be *extremely* sheltered and unlearned regarding such things?

I need to find an ideal balance of assumed setting knowledge (ideal for those who already know Planescape) and setting exposition (ideal for those new to it). What might work out best?
>>
>>7489
>I need to find an ideal balance of assumed setting knowledge (ideal for those who already know Planescape) and setting exposition (ideal for those new to it). What might work out best?

It's always hard with quests that work within established settings. I think that offering brief explanations when introducing new concepts and being very patient and welcoming with player questions might not just be the best choice, but also get people genuinely interested in the beautiful setting that is planescape.
>>
Blood War is silly
>>
>>7621

I am very much a fan of the Blood War, although it probably will not be a major element in this quest, even if our protagonist *is* an arcanaloth. There is more to the yugoloths than just the Blood War.
>>
>>7820
Well isn't the main focus of Planescape the plane of Sigil and traveling through it? It's the hub of the wheel, after all.

>>8087

As the cultural, commercial, and transportation center of the multiverse, Sigil is simultaneously the "starter area" and "hub area" of Planescape. It is not a plane in and of itself, but it comes close.

I do plan on bringing our protagonist to other planes very soon, but for now, Sigil is a good starting zone. She might even return to her home plane of Gehenna, travel to the Society of Sensation's headquarters in Arborea, or visit these guardinals' heavenly plane of Elysium.

As far as the Blood War is concerned, it does affect Sigil to some degree (as 2e's Hellbound: The Blood War) shows us, but by and large, it is an indirect influence.
>>
>>8152
Neat. Who's our Ultroloth boss, and do we have any Nycademon friends?
>>
>>8192

Our character is from the Tower of the Arcanaloths in Gehenna's second layer of Chamada and belongs to the hierarchy there. She is currently on vacation.

Her superior there is her own mother. She is a liveborn arcanaloth.

She did not get to bring friends on vacation.

Another matter that should be taken into consideration: our character is *literally* made out of pure evil. Yugoloths are the type of fiend that embodies the cosmic energies of the Neutral Evil alignment.

Should prompts be written with a self-serving attitude in mind, or in a more neutral fashion, with "literally made of evil" being glossed over in a goofy fashion and simplified to "simply sees nothing wrong with hurting others"?
>>
>>10206
More goofy seems to fit here. If hurting people happens in the course of doing things, oh well!

I'd say, to go with the comedy anime aspect of the quest, give it more of a school bully angle, maybe with a bit of comedic sociopathy on top of that.

So yeah, more goofy.

Ah, alignment. Always fun to discuss. It seems like a straightjacket at many, but it's really more of a worldview guideline.

Law/Chaos first. Neutral in those terms means simply that both of these poles are of roughly equal importance. Thus, a sliding scale of involvement. At the high end, we have characters who try to conscientiously balance the effects of their actions, to neither increase nor decrease the orderliness of his surroundings. At the low end, where appropriately we are here, we have characters who don't care. Not if, or how hard. It's just not an issue.

Next, Good/Evil. This is the stickier consideration, since Evil is typically confused with mean, which is hardly an attractive trait in a protagonist. The best explanation I got for this is to treat the terms as an over-simplification for poetic license reasons. They ought better to be called altruism/selfishness.

Say I have five pieces of candy, and you have none.
If I'm Good, I will give you some of my candy, how much depending on my perception of our relative needs.
If I'm Neutral, I'm not obligated to share simply out of recognition of an inequality existing. Life ain't fair. If I'm going to eat it in front of you, I'll offer you one so as not to be cruel. But otherwise, if I give you any, and how much, will depend on how much I like you weighed against how much pleasure I pass up.
If I'm Evil, I don't give things; you must trade me something of equal or greater perceived value.

Say, instead, you have five pieces of candy and I have none (and that I do want some).
If I'm Good, I'll ask for some, feel gratitude if satisfied, and accept refusal without argument or grudge (it's rightfully yours, after all).
If I'm Neutral, I'll ask. If satisfied, I'll be favorably disposed towards you in future. If refused, I'll try alternate means (offer something of similar perceived value). If you still refuse to share, I may hold a grudge.
If I'm Evil, as far as I'm concerned it's my candy and I'm letting you have some. How much fuss I make depends on how much I want some.

Evil doesn't necessarily mean rude. I would reasonably know that asking nicely is likely to get me the desired result with the least amount of effort. The only reason to do otherwise would be if I'm extremely self-important or I'm trying to provoke a fight.

Evil doesn't necessarily mean violent. Even if I really want candy, that doesn't mean I'm going to fight you for something equivalent to pocket change. That's just disproportionate. If it's become about the refusal rather than the candy, then maybe.

Additionally, being Evil doesn't necessarily mean being friendless or cold. You don't go around kicking puppies if you like puppies. You don't go around kicking puppies even if you aren't fond of puppies. You only go around kicking puppies if you really hate them for some reason.

I figure a lot of what people mistake for Evil is instead Pissed Off.

Evil equating to selfishness and our character, quite literally, being made of selfishness means that it is virtually impossible for our character to think of anything in terms *other* than "how can this benefit me."

You have a lot of fluffy tail images.

Yes, but benefit is subjective. If what we want is novel experiences, rather than objects, then we have every reason to be friendly.
