During your investigations you find out there is a dwarven town almost a month's travel south near the base of the mountains. There is also a human town in the grasslands 3 weeks by foot. Begrudgingly you agree to the request. Can't let the food supply intake be decreased now that you just got it. The only other piece of information you get from your hunters, that they all agree on, is that it is fast. That is not much to go on but it is all you got. Heading to the forest taking with you your most equipped minions you begin the search. Recreating the situation is the easiest way to track down this monster, you kill a deer and wait. Not long afterwards you hear screech and the deer is gone with more screeches coming from your left. Pursuit is difficult in this thick forest and you lose track after it quickly changes directions. You repeat your process this time taking longer before results shows itself, and pursuing once again. The speed it travels there is no chance you could cast a ice trap fast enough to get it. Its night and you camp with your minions making sure to not have raw meat out for too long. Resuming your hunt in the morning it isn't long before you think you have found the monster's home. A large cave littered with bones and blood splatters on the rocks close by.

Surveying the carnage you find almost visible path, certain spots are just devoid of bones. Setting Ice and Poison traps in these spots, now you wait. Hiding yourself and the minions in the foliage to watch the cave. After an hour of waiting here are your results, a single snow hare. One of the minions can't stay being still any more and it charges the rabbit. "KIEL DAH FLUFFY" normally you'd punish him but you hate rabbits too and want to see it get brutally murdered. The rabbit then lunges and rips your minion's throat out... What the fuck did you just witness... "WWAAA KIEL THE FLUFFY!" You minions rush forward, another falls prey to the rabbit. It deftly avoids your minion's attack while killing another after another. The minions do get it to trip and Ice trap and it significantly slows down. This rabbit killed eight of your minions like it was nothing.

You know to gain her back as ally you'll need to respect her wishes for now. As terrible as it is to admit you are going to eventually need assistance to become a true overlord of this world. Taking this opportunity to kill some time you head to your former masters home. After pounding on his door, nearly breaking it off its hinges, it opens. A girl, probably no older than 11, is in the doorway. She responds meekly with a hello and stares at the floor. You ask for an audience with the master of this home, she quickly runs off. Making your way inside you find a chair and seat yourself and wait. About ten minutes later your old master walks in, supporting himself with a cane. You're surprised he is still even alive, but at least he can still walk... kind of. He is still is a slow talker but you two discuss the past decade. He's glad you still keep up on magic, wishes you had progressed more but your results are acceptable. He's pretty sure he's had 4 other apprentices since you left, you try pressing the topic but he gives you a slow shrug. "In my age my mind is failing, I'm certain I'll be too far gone by the end of the year" That is unfortunate you could use him in your underspire, even now you are sure his magic is still powerful. Before going the old wizard let's you go he offers up one last piece of advice "Sometimes your enemies can be torn down with a few words, sometimes they only become stronger. Know the difference" Bidding him farewell you go to meet with Lysandra, maybe things can actually be discussed. Arriving you see that she is waiting for you looking off into the fields beyond. About 5 meters are between you two but you could easily carry on a conversation like this.

The old wizard is powerful, his skills must not be wasted because of old age.
Perhaps we can look into youth magic. Or, maybe gnarl knows how to stave off senility despite ages of being alive.
If nothing else, we know that the overlord games canonically have bodyswitching magic, so we can always put him into a hip new body. Perhaps an elfen body, for lifespan and magical affinity.
