In this CivQuest: You, the players, are in control of the great nation of Valornia, a state founded by the Skorupi and the Yanma. Your main goal is to ensure the continuity of the state, prosperity of its people and the security of its force.
It has, by this point, through politics and conquest, blobbed the northern half of Root Island, which is starting to be called "Ostrov of Srdnatosti" or Isle of Valor by the populace. Own the whole island and it will be renamed officially. Your main goal as of now, however, is to unite the Haven Isles under your banner.

Currently, Valornia is participating in the Haven Coalition War against the large northern kingdom, Zureis, and fighting to purge the demons, literally, from the land and stop Yveltal from summoning more.

Last thing that happened is the Valornian 1st Army smashed through a larger Zureisian force and are now calling Azelf to purify a small number Demons left behind (>>390640).

Your call upon Azelf and her siblings to come and try to purify the demons is met with them in person- a sight to behold by the Valornian troops who all immediately kneel in prayer for them.

The trio say nothing at first but soon speak a tongue that no one understands, directed at the demons.

"Misit nos ad te, ut sacra daemonibus turpis." Azelf said as the demons started to glow suddenly.

"Sine verbi sancti praefluunt vestrum." Mesprit said completely enveloped in light, along with her sisters.

"Et dabo te omne verbum quod semel." Uxie said before an explosion of light poured out, blinding everyone temporarily. Once awakened to sight again, the soldiers stood in disbelief: where there were was once a group of demonic Pokemon is now a group of normal Pokemon with slightly demonic features. The aura of the unholy has left them and they show no signs of corruption.

The army then noticed the lack of gods in the area. It seems the Guardians had left after they finished their rites.

These newly purified demons. now mortal again, are not fit for combat and must be transported/escorted to safety in Daberly back in Arthubrook. Beyond this, there is little left for the troops to do beside set up camp, deal with all the dead bodies and extra equipment and/or leave the area.

The dissection of some of the demon bodies has been completed but not without problems. It seems that due to some sort of chemical processes, the bodies decompose faster than a normal mortal and so the dissections can only be done on so many bodies until they all rot away. The chance for disease was also high but the hospital staff dealt with it better than most ever would.
The dissections revealed that demons have no functioning organs- they needn't eat, breath, sleep or anything of the sort for mere mortals. Indeed, these men and women are dangerous as they never tire. Belaying this however, is the fact that because they have no metabolism, injuries heal extremely slowly and that is key to killing them. Crippling them in a major way, like cutting an arm or leg off, would be an astounding blow to any demon.

We create the circumstances in which the people need and want another solution and then provide the solution.

The same thing can work for the Zuris

You send one of the Zureisian rifles, or really their assembly, back to Valornia to be studied. The bolt-action system will be particularity useful as it negates having to shot one bullet and then reload.

The 1st Army sends a small escort along with the purified demons, nicknamed "Omne", one of the prayer words the Guardians spoke, back to Daberly.
The 1st Army also deals with the dead, burying friend and foe alike plus scavenging equipment in case they run out of bullets or they have some sort of armor shortage.

The last thing the 1st Army does is send out Flying-types to chase down the fleeing troops and try to get them to surrender.

Roll 1d20+2 because you just kicked their asses and they're scared as heck.

The idea of the CANAL has been conceptualized as feasible, though hard to make and not at all large but useful for connecting towns and rivers to the ocean where needed.

The Counsel Postal System, or CPS, has been set up to lose all your mail except the bills as fast as possible. Culture and Social changes in Valornia will spread faster through the postal system (+2 to rolls involving social action) but the downside is that it makes it easier for rebels and dissidents to contact each other as well. Politically, the mail will be useful as well- as time moves on, the number of mon' who wish to be a minister is increasing, despite the limited number of spots to be a minister in the counsel.

The south shore nations have made there way to Zureis and are marching due east from a western landing point, shown on the map. They will be marching as one army, considering alone, they all have tiny armies and would crushed easily.

Most of the enemy troops found fleeing have been caught and forced to surrender to Valornia, only a few of the Zureisian troops have gotten away without notice.

TNT has been found to be strong but some chemists believe they can make a stronger type of explosive for what its worth.

Most of them were already in the war on Zureis' beck and call but peaced out due to "internal problems"in the alliance and wish to stay out of the war. The other neutral nations also wish to stay neutral, not really having a stake in this mess.

There are small newspapers set up in each major city, reporting events to their liking- something that could cast a bad shadow on the government whenever something goes wrong. Some of the ministers decide to form a government run newspaper that'll say what they want it to say but also set up a system alongside where these smaller newspapers can at least compete, lest the populace get suspicious about what's going on.

The job of inciting rebellion has worked wonderfully- an entire section of province's have rebelled against the current Zureisian government and declared themselves independent, calling themselves the Principality of Agedern, after the largest city in their land. This will most definitely split the massive army in the capital of Zureis as they have to deal with this new mess.

The envoy sent to the Kaloa Mountains to look for Rayquaza has come back with good news- they most certainly have found him and had a delightful talk with the god of atmosphere. When the subject on weather came up however, he had said that while he controls the skies and how they are, only Kyogre and Groudon control the actual elements- he mediates the two but had shown the envoy where one might find them if they choose to do so. He had warned, however, that they might not be willing to teach anything about weather as they're both, as he puts it, "grumpy little children".

The 2nd army has finally met up with an allied army, the 3rd army of Muinal Knights and the 2nd army of Albrinn in the next province. No troops to encounter because the Muinal Knights are already camping out in the province and have defeated what may have been there. The Albrinn army has marched forward to the next province, intending to scout out before fighting.

THE KAROVIAN AGGRESSION STARTS

Newspapers around the nation have noted, through contact in Karovia, that the offensive is underway and that they are marching into the Nuzleaf territory, meeting incredibly heavy resistance within; slowing the army down to a crawl but its been noted that this may be only a small force as a distraction as it numbers only around 6000 soldiers. Many speculate that they may be landing somewhere on the coast as well, closer to the northern border between Valornia and the Nuzleaf territories.

Hopefully, this fighting does not spill out into the Valornia homeland, lest we have to intervene.

Valornia stays decidedly neutral in the war happening on their own island. Hopefully, this conflict resolves itself quickly.

The envoy to Agedern has made it to the city of Agedern, where the new state had set up its capital. The Principality of Agedern is mostly comprised of Steel and Ground types.

Due to fighting with the Zureisian armies, an incredibly busy, newly appointed government and general problems abound, the new ruler cannot speak to the envoy just yet but will do so next round.

Yes. The Republic of Feran wishes to trade for the kerosene that Valornia produces. What do you request? Be reasonable but keep in mind that Feran is a merchant republic and has access to a large amount of goods already.

The Valornian authority increase border security within areas they suspect fighting will be heavy. Incursions of fighting on Valornian land may have been thwarted but the bulk of the fighting has yet to start.

The study of the Bolt-Action system that Zureis uses is complete. It can be used to modify the current issue Láska-Stárek or you may invest time into making a new rifle.

The Guard has found little to stand a leg on when it comes to convince the neutral nations into entering the war as Valornia has little give and they have little to gain, all the while knowing that Valornia and Belvin are looking to rule the Haven Isles unopposed.

Monarchies and Republic's.

Technically, Valornia is a Republic, formed using a Merit based system that makes it so those who are truly qualified get a seat of power in the government, Ministers Positions or MPs. Due to this, the nation's name is the Counsel State of Valornia. It's a unique, UK like country since it incorporates a few former states within its lands that are somewhat seen as separate countries by the local populaces.

For Monarchies, you can either have a Despotic or Feudal Monarchy while a Republic's are normally Merchant Republic's.

Not much invention wise. They have iron, which can be turned into steel, and plenty of fisheries and shipbuilding capabilities. For goods they do have that Valornia does not, they have rice, beans, peas, pears and cherri berries in the food trade while trade goods they have rugs, pottery and furs.

The Valornian military decides to try and use the domesticated Zebstrika for use in the military, they hope it works well.

You send an new envoy to meet Kyogre. According to Rayquaza, she should be found in the general area highlighted on the map in Rulona's Southern Shore.

Your audience with the new ruler of Agedern, Duke Hanvar, is meet with enthusiasm. He is willing to work with Valornia, seen as a hard-working nation in their eyes. Trading with Valornia might be necessary as they have little in the way of food production.

You send the Secret Guard to instigate unrest in Karovia, hoping that using the war may cause immigration and rebellion.

Dynamite has been researched- a more powerful and deadlier tool than TNT. It'll making mining tunnels and such easy and killing troops a cinch.
(200 attack if used on infantry and 170 damage to walls and forts)

The talks about claims in the war and what may happen afterwards have come to a conclusion. Valornia is at least promised a good chunk of land from Zureis once the war is over. The Muinal Knights wish to get the Galliem Order in an alliance afterwards while Nordhalen and Albrinn wish for some land themselves. Kalisia does not want much but the ability to use the ports of the land whenever needed.

For the southern nations, most wish to consolidate under one flag but have been unable to do so without being conquered immediately if they tried but with Valornia and allies around, they may do so now. Between Valornia and Belvin, there have been talks of marriage between the Řeznicek and Dreher families as well as an open alliance with each other.

The plans found in the underwater ruins have been sent to the university so that they may be deciphered and drawn up as proper blueprints. Whatever that ship may be, it is larger than anything seen before and looks to carry more than before- a benefit to Valornia.

What do you wish to trade with Agedern? Agedern has minerals of many type, the main being Tungsten and Nickel.

The plans for the strange gun found in the ruins has been made into actual blueprints. Valornia has gotten quite a few things out of this gun: Blowback action, 5 bullet magazines and a larger caliber of bullet, .45.

The gun is semi-automatic, blowback design using a magazine of 5 .45 bullets. Highly damaging and faster than single-shot rifles of the now. The downside is that this weapon is expensive to make, estimated to cost 25,000 KYR to acquire enough to equip 5 Infantry Units. It has been named the Kolar-Kasun after the main researchers of the rifle.

The Valornian government, in the quest to have a long living populace that can do things, decides to use the new national newspaper, Zprávy První (News First), to promote safety and actually eating healthy instead being a glutton and doing stupid things.

Feran accepts the offer of 3 Kerosene for Rice, Beans, Pears and Cheri Berries and Pottery. With the new knowledge of Rice, Pears, Cheri and Beans, food stock increases by 4000.

The idea of an open alliance and royal marriage between Belvin and Valornia strikes a cord within both nations, considering the large majority population of Poison and Dark types in both nations, they see nothing but benefit. Both government's agree on this as well but decide to wait until after the war is over to finish but start making preparations now so as to ease the process later.
