As you and Horon exit the Great Fairy's Fountain, carefully avoiding the crater the Dodongo monster caused, you take a moment to go over what you learned. The sealed Beast of Power won't be awakened so long as that Great Fairy lives... perhaps talk with the Gorons, see if they can offer extra protection? That said, there's still the Heroes of a century ago, and that portrait you found; the Goron Chief asked you to retrieve it, and offered a Piece of Heart as reward, but why? And... well, there's the fact that Horon is the cousin of the Hero of your own time. The one who gave his life to ensure you lived. His actions up to this point are certainly starting to make more sense... even if he is rough around the edges in regards to them. In any case, the Temple's been mostly cleared now... save one room.

"Well." Horon starts, testing out the new Spell the two of you were gifted with, tossing a fireball that travels the length of a room before stopping in midair and combusting. "This... is a really, really nice trick. Aheh, that Fairy knows how to give someone a gift."

"Your face is still red, Horon." you point out.

"Quiet." he grumbles, turning away from you.

He does have a good point. This... could be a very useful skill in times to come. Ah, and you probably have the perfect place to test out its other function, too...

You try your best to not make too prominent a grin, but you just can't help it; you start moving down to the room that had that horde of Keese in there. Horon is initially confused by your sudden bolt downstairs, but then quickly gets what's on your mind. You throw open the door to the Keese-filled room.

The monsters start to awaken, and begin a mad dash at you... but you're too well prepared for them to even attempt it. You ready yourself, magical power building up in your hand as you pull it back, and then with a loud yell, you slam it on the ground.

A powerful, expanding sphere flames engulf the horde of monsters, clearing out the room almost instantly. As the Keese fall, they seem to leave behind... well, an astounding amount of Rupees. You realize just how many Keese there were in this little hidey hole of theirs. A minimum of 47, most likely more, with all these green Rupees that have scattered across the floor.

You casually stroll to the chest after collecting each Rupee, and retrieve the silver one in the chest. A haul of 100 more!

[Rupees: 358]
[Magic: 0/5]

Needless to say, Horon's impressed. Mostly by the spell itself, given how he's looking at his hands and chuckling to himself. Felicia floats near him, showing clear concern.

Question: with this spell, what's the point of those fire gloves?
>>

>B. Horon, please keep in mind that this is not a toy
>>
>>579745
The fire gloves don't waste magic if your health is full.
>>
>>579745
So Horon can use fire. Or not have to worry about draining our magic.
>>
Next dungeon will be water, right? So we will curse not able to clean rooms with fire, refill our magic and repeat.
>>
>>579745
At full health, the Gloves cost no magic to use and are slightly stronger (operating similar to the Sword Beam). Din's Fire costs magic for all uses, but its fireballs can be controlled and detonated at will, and the spell has the AOE alternative.
>>
>>579775
How come Horon got taught the spell too but best Gerudo girl didn't get taught the speed spell? Damn racist fairies.

I wonder what'll happen if we attune the Sword Beam with Din's Fire?

You give the boy a stern look. "Horon, please recall that this is no toy, just as a sword or bow are not. And any damages you cause to a town or city will come out of your pocket, at best."

He rolls his eyes at you. "Yes mom."

Your look becomes an icy glare, but you decide to let it go. "In any case, we should get going."

"Yeah yeah." he grumbles out, hands behind his neck as he walks with you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zip3u016uXE

The two of you return to the Goron's city, heading to the chief. Coron smiles as he sees you both safe and sound. "Ah, and the young Hylian hero girls have returned."

"Still a boy." Horon grumbles out angrily at the aged Goron.

"Ah, right right, my apologies. Sometimes it's hard to tell for us which of your kind is which. In any case, I trust you two have succeeded in meeting the Great Fairy?"

You nod, but then explain what all transpired in the Temple. You bring special attention to the encounter with the Dodongo "gifted" with the appearance of a Goron, its goal of freeing the sealed monster inside, and the Great Fairy's role in keeping the monster locked in its prison. The Goron Chief listens closely, then sighs loudly once you finish your explanation. "We should have been more diligent. The fairy claimed she would be fine with minimal protection, but... this was too close."

"Would it be okay to send her some extra protection? Or at the very least, someone to tile over that floor." you suggest.

The Chief nods. "Indeed. If this mask-toting villain can find a way to disguise a monster's appearance, I doubt this is the last time they will try such a tactic."

"Perfect. One last thing, sir. I discovered something within the Temple..." You subtly show him the portrait before hiding it again. "...that may be of interest you."

The Goron's eyes widen briefly, a smile coming across his face. "Of course, of course." He then turns to Horon. "Young one, one of my troops told me he spotted you with a sword fashioned by one of our best smiths, but the blade was damaged. Would you like it repaired?"

Horon brings out his broken sword, rubbing his chin curiously. "Well, my father claimed that it was a gift to him from you guys, so if you're offering, I'll take it!"

You look at the sword again. The thing truly is oversized, and if it were repaired, it may be larger than Horon. That much weight in his hands could be trouble for him to wield. Unless...

"Miss... Termina, right? May I see you personally for a moment?"

"Horon, while you're there, perhaps ask if they can repair it to your size. The blade itself is already fairly large, you'll need a lot of strength to wield it if it's returned to full size." you suggest to the boy.

Horon flexes, trying to show off... well, what little muscle he has. "Tch, I've got nothing to worry about, Termina! A little extra weight is nothing!"

You sigh and let the boy be, trying to hint to the Gorons to not make it TOO heavy for him, before turning back to the Chief. "I shall go with you, sir."

The two of you head into a smaller room behind a locked door, inside it being a few small boxes. "...Princess. It has been a long time since you were last here."

So he knew. "I do not recall it all that well."

He chuckles. "You were but a baby back then. I do not expect you to. That said... Princess, I can guess why you have taken it upon yourself to go on this journey. You have that same spark in your eye that she..." He points down, to where you're hiding the portrait. "...displayed all those years ago. But I have a question, Princess, one I need to know the answer to: how long do you intend to keep Hyrule in the dark about your return?"

>A. As long as is necessary, but I will reveal my identity eventually
>B. To be honest, I do not intend to let Hyrule at large know; I wish to protect it, but I am not sure I am fit to rule it

"As long as is necessary, I will keep my identity a secret. That said, I will reveal myself, as Princess Zelda, to Hyrule eventually. But not a moment before. A very, very small number know who I am. And I intend to keep it that way, for Hyrule's sake." you explain to the Goron. You then give a respectful curtsy. "This said, I have faith in you, and the rest of the Gorons, Chief Coron. You all have clearly thought ahead in regards to a potential threat to Hyrule at large. I trust in you all to be ready, should Ganon make his return."

He places one of his large hands on your shoulder and pats it gently as you stand, a warm smile across his face. "You really are a lot like her, Princess. We shall help how we can." He walks over to one of the boxes, continuing. "So you do wish to claim your birthright? The Throne of Hyrule?"

You nod. "When the time is right, and not a moment before. I... am still young, I shall admit, I need more experience before I can do such a thing. Being among the people is certainly helping me see the larger picture, though."

"Then you do so for the right reasons. Your father may not have answered me with such sincerity in his voice." the Goron Chief notes, looking around through the box. "I do feel I should warn you, Princess, that your opinion might change the more you spend with the common people of Hyrule." He makes a soft "a-hah!" of a grunt as he pulls out a picture. "Just as hers did."

You take a look at the picture. Another portrait, this one a larger one. You see the Queen Zelda from your portrait, but with her are... well, you recognize the lady Hero in Green, and the Gerudo King. There are some servants with her, but next to her is... a boy, about the Gerudo's age, hair a bright blonde like your own, with a crown on his head. "...the portrait mentioned a brother on the back of it. Is this him?"

The Goron nods. "Prince Gustaf Hyrule. Later, King Gustaf."

"...the Queen died?"

He shakes his head. "Abdicated. Because... well, there were many reasons. But the final one is still in that Temple. She could pass the Crown on to her brother. But you are the only direct, legitimate heir to your father's throne."

>A. You bring this up... because of what you said, that I am like the former Queen, correct? You feel I may head down a similar path?

Carefully looking over the picture, you rub your chin. "You bring this up... because of what you said, that I am like the former Queen, correct? You feel I may head down a similar path?"

"'May,' being the key word there." the Goron starts, putting the picture back in the box. "You should be well-informed for the times ahead, Princess. The allure of adventure, of helping the masses directly, of being a true Hero and protector of Hyrule instead of a Queen of Hyrule, is a harder call to ignore than you may first think. She was still advisor to King Gustaf, still close with her brother even into old age, but she made her choice. The Nobility seemed content with that, given the one closest with the Queen, but... you don't have all the luxuries she did."

"I see. But you mentioned that I was the only legitimate heir. The way you said that, it seems you know some illegitimate ones, Chief Coron." you note, arms crossed and curious expression on your face.

He frowns heavily. "...Your father was once a good man, but he let Power get to his head. Corrupt him. Twist him. You are his legitimate heir. But while you are his first child, you are not his only child, Princess. He had many lovers, and just as many bastards he refused to recognize as his own. I can not say who they all are, I was never much of a Gossip Stone. I do know one of them was among the Gerudo, another, the Sheikah."

...so that's what the Stone meant by it. Hm. Impa, what have you been hiding?

>A. Thank him for this, you will keep this all in mind on your travels

"I thank you for this, Chief Coron. I will keep it in mind in my travels." you tell the Goron politely, giving another respectful curtsy.

He nods, then hands you the Piece of Heart. "May this help you on those travels, Princess."

[You got a Piece of Heart! Collect three more to get an extra!]

As the two of you walk out of the room, Coron rubs his chin. "Hrrhmn... where are you headed next, Princess?"

You think it over. "I should check on one of my allies, Aveli of the Gerudo, some time soon, but beyond that I am open to suggestions. The Fairy Temples were one part of this, so if you have some ideas..."

"The Gerudo, you say? Even knowing of..." he makes a cutting motion across his neck.

"You could say that's one reason I SHOULD be looking to them for help." you explain. "And I have made a good ally among them already."

"Hmm... Then allow me to direct you further: the Temple of Time may give you something that will help you and your allies on this task, but it is blocked by the Oktorok Swamp. It is not an easy task to get to it these days, especially since the war." The Goron then rubs his chin again. "The Spirit Temple of the Gerudo may also interest you, if you are headed that way. But also along the way is Lake Hylia, and I have heard rumors of a mighty dragon sighted there. The Lost Woods is home to an old race who have worked to help Hyrule in times of trouble. You could do well if you could gain their aid and wisdom. And finally, there is the Spirit Temple, just down the mountain, and the path to the Great Sky Temple. The Spirit Temple you are probably aware of already, but the Great Sky Temple is a place you may be very interested in."

Great... Sky Temple? "What's so special about it?"

"It was the only place that Ganon dared not attack during the war, even after given ample opportunity. They may have a secret to stopping him, should he return... or they may be a target, if the Man with Masks keeps to his tricks."

You nod to him. "Thank you for all this, Chief Coron. Goddesses watch over you."

"And to you, 'Termina.'" he says with a warm smile.

You decide to check on Horon before you head off, looking around the city for where the Goron's smiths are. You find him talking with a Goron... almost the size of that monster sealed in the Temple of Din.

"Three days?!" the boy asks in surprise, his head sinking slightly. "I-isn't there anything I can do to help you with it?"

The Goron shakes his head. "Sorry there, kiddo. It used to take longer before I got these new eyedrops. But with my help, I can get that sword to last for a century. Three days isn't that much of a wait given the result, is it?"

Horon starts ruffling his red hair in frustration, then sighs. "Aghdtch.... ffffine." Felicia's noticing of you then alerts him of your presence as well. "Ah, hey Termina. So the good news, I can get it repaired, for fairly cheap, too. The bad news, it'll take three days."

"What do you plan to do in that time, then?" you ask curiously.

"I am going to head to the Shadow Temple, just down the mountain. It's something I feel the need to check out." you tell the boy, looking in the direction of it for a moment. "It's right by Kakoriko, so it's not a long trip. I should get there before sundown."

Horon loudly gulps. "The... the Shadow Temple?"

"Indeed." you state calmly, noticing the boy tense up. "Is there something wrong, Horon?"

"But... but it's the most haunted place in all of Hyrule!" he exclaims. "Uh. Not that I'm afraid of it, of course, just... well, it's definitely not the place a someone should go to on their own. Especially at night!" His knees are shaking.

"You do not have to come if you do not wish, Horon." you say calmly.

He gives you a grumpy pout. "That's not what I- ...tch, just, listen, Termina, that place has some seriously bad vibes going on there. It's a necropolis, for Hylia's sake!"

You give him a bemused look. "Horon, I've lived in Kakoriko most of my life, I am already aware of what it is and of its reputation. I will be fine, and again, you do not have to come with if you do not wish it."

He looks like he wants to argue further, but he decides against it, glaring away from you. "Fine. Good luck, and all that."

You give a respectful bow to them both, and start to walk off. As you leave the Goron village, heading down Death Mountain, you catch wind of something. Every few steps you hear a sound from the surrounding sides of the mountain. It's almost at random, and almost too faint to hear... but Impa trained you well enough to recognize irregular noise. It's like a presence, watching you, but otherwise not impeding your progress. You don't quite know who, or what, it might be, but it's clearly there.

>A. Call out to whoever this is, let them know you're aware they are there

You take a moment to try and call out to whoever it is that is following you. "I've been trained well enough to recognize sounds like that. If you do not wish to make yourself known to me, then you do not have to. But know that I am aware of your presence." And... no reply. "I would rather we not make a game of this, though. If you need to talk with me, we can do so in-town." Perhaps offer them some kind of sweets, or pastries.

And... still silence. You sigh a little, and continue on your way. So they're going to be like that, huh? Upon finally reaching the bottom of Death Mountain, your eyes catch something strange. There are sections of the ground that keep... well, it's like something keeps trying to climb out, only for small jets of flame to push them back down. You then turn to check for the sun. It's sunset, but there's still going to be some time before it's below the horizon. Are these... Stalfos? Trying to claw their ways above ground early?

'Hee-hee-ho. Well, now that is quite a strange sight.' the Keaton's voice echoes in your mind.

"Do you know something I don't, Keaton?" you question aloud.

'I know that you could handle these yourself. It would do the village some good, let the guards relax for the night. I also know that the guards could handle these things themselves with proper warning. But whatever is causing this... well, that remains to be seen, my child.'

You resolve to stay and wait them out. You calmly draw your sword, gripping it tight as you watch the setting sun. When the last ray of light vanishes beyond the horizon, a Stalfos tries to desperately crawl out of the ground and, after taking a moment to look down the hole it came out of, tries to bolt at Kakariko.

You don't let it.

Rushing the monster as quickly as you can, you jump and stab at it, bringing it down. Four more start to rise from the ground as soon as the first one is down, and you take your time carefully avoiding their attacks as they try to make their way past you, and countering them all the same.

A couple close calls, but within minutes all four are down, and you've managed to gather some stuff to restore your Magic to full. But they're not stopping there. Another five have risen up, and you can hear something much bigger rumbling underneath...

You jump back as you fire a Sword Beam, felling a Stalfos immediately, but get rushed by another as you land. You're knocked back, but you're not down yet. As it tries to bring its blade down on you, you swiftly slash at its arm, severing it, and then carry the momentum into a spin, bisecting the skeleton monster at the torso.

Three further Stalfos make their way to you, only for you to block their attack and counter quickly, your blade cracking their bones open like twigs. However, you miss the last one, which gets its own chance to stab at you. Thankfully your poncho keeps it from hitting true, the monster's blade scratching you across the side, but not too deep.

The two of you back away, when you see... it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbXFUsP_-jQ

A four-armed Stalfos, almost twice as tall as you, with a vile, horrid presence around it. The monster slowly climbs out of the ground, the devilish lights where its eyes should be staring into your soul. It starts to walk, slowly, towards you.

You're not letting it get any closer.

You keep your distance, and blast the monster with a sphere of Din's Fire, knocking it back as you detonate it in front of it, nicking the Stalfos near it. Another fireball pushes it back again, and breaks apart the Stalfos you missed with your blade. You hurt the monster, but it's not done yet...

Then we should work in a use all magic giant fireball attack. Very useful for bosses as they tend to be big, so is harder to miss.

No, the AOE nuke is a massive area attack, this would be an attack that hits a single target. Maybe a concentrated fireball? As in we pour all magic in a single fireball then trow it at the boss?

You ready a bomb as the creature starts to move towards you again. This time it's more aware of what you're going to do, and is clearly readying itself to block. With careful aim, though, you toss the bomb at the oversized Stalfos. It does manage to block the brunt of the explosion, but in blocking the bomb blasts one of its four arms off, sending it flying into the dirt.

You follow through with your bomb toss with a final fireball, letting it detonate in the monster's face. The head is tossed a good distance away from the body as its form starts to crumble into a pile of bones... and then the head starts hopping around, trying to get back to the rest of its body.

It "trips" over a rock, causing you to giggle at it a little, but you should probably put it down before it reaches the body.

But in this case he said we can alter the shape and size of the fireballs. This is just creating a single fireball but charging with all the magic we have. We are Wisdom not Courage or power, we should really be able to have extra spell slots.

Power bonus: You got might and magic!

Courage bonus: You are the hero and can win any fight against evil! Oh and you can do it alone.

Unlike a certain someone, your aim is quite precise. The boy still has much to learn, but you, you've spent many, many years in practice with Impa. You throw one last fireball at the monster's head, connecting and detonating it right in the middle of its jump.

The creature's body vanishes in a puff of black mist that's slightly blown away from the resulting explosion. You take a deep breath. The guards at Kakariko can sleep easy tonight. Well... provided they weren't wary of all the explosions. You spot something from where the monster fell... aha! A Purple Rupee! A whole extra 50 in the pocket!

[Rupees: 408/500]

Out of the corner of your eye, you catch something on one of the sections of the mountain. You try your best to focus on... well, it's a person. But there's something oddly familiar about... aaaand they're gone. Still, you swear that person looked-

With Wisdom, you're able to more easily see your way through certain puzzles, are able to cultivate long-term allies more easily and have a degree of intuition in political matters.

You also are much, much more skilled in Magic, and with the right training, you could run circles around a Hero of Courage in regards to magical skill (and they're often no chumps when it comes to that).

>>583165
Your Magical abilities are greater than those of Courage and Power, and more diverse, but they need training. You've had true access to your Magical potential for less than a week, in-character. With the Great Fairies' help, you could develop the Spells you've learned even further.

>>583167
Thanks for playing!

Perhaps retraining isn't the right word for it. But basically, if you were to work with the Great Fairies, you could get more advanced versions of the Spells you already have access to. I'll think this over a bit.

>>583197
Hah.
>>
>>583225
Since we lack courage, is the shadow temple gonna be tough on us?
>>
>>583225
...I always assumed Courage *was* a chump at magic. Look at OoT - all the magic is accessed through artifacts, except for three fairly basic spells, meanwhile Power is over there firing laser beams out of his arse, suspending a castle over a fucking hellgate and flying around like a ponce. Plus the zombie army.
>>
>>583238
Courage does have the hero bonus. That means he can win any fight against evil, solo.

And the reason Link sucks at magic is lack of time, he only gas a few months each time, while Gsnon had years to prepare.
>>
https://youtu.be/SsMayq8sL-U
>>
>>583258
Link can slow down time tho
>>
>>583233
Hahahahahaha.

Good luck.

>>583238
Compared to Wisdom and Power? Yes.

But compared to most other Hylians, many incarnations of Link might as well be Mage-Knights based on how well they can use magic. Zelda II's Link especially stands out with the diverse kinds of Spells he can learn.

Zelda and Ganon still need to learn Spells themselves, but they're able to learn and develop relatively quickly.
>>
>>583238
>>583258

As a general rule Ganon always has at least ten years more than Link to get ready.

Yet Ganon magic is not that impressive, he has magic and power but lacks variety. Hence why he ends using something so offensive as a giant Pig form for extra power.

Also no anti light magic enchanted armor, otherwise light arrows would have to hit in the parts the armor doesn't cover.

Zelda will never have the raw power Ganon has but she can beat Link at magic due to Link being forced to go fast.

So Link would be the more limited with magic, mostly forced to use artifacts and a few spells that don't take hard to learn due to being in a hurry. Ganon has a lot if power but he has difficulty with the complications of complex magic hence just going for powerful spells that mostly require a lot of magic. He is also too pridefull to get enchanted armor.

I mean he should know he is weak against light magic, does he care to get an armor that protects against it? He never does.

Zelda would be basically a Red Mage lacking in raw power and might but having a wide variety of spells.
>>
>>583298
That doesn't equal to extra time save in a few games. And again that's an artifact, not Link himself.
>>
>>583351
Link has the magic fingers and breath capacity
>>
>>583383
Those are skills not magic. Unless by magic fingers you don't mean stealing anything that isn't nailed down.
>>
>>583406
I mean his skill at the bow and arrow and musical instruments.
>>
>>583340
The light arrows are an extremely powerful divine weapon, I highly doubt armor enchanted by dark magic to ward light would work on them, since that's the exact thing they're supposed to tear through like paper. Same deal with the master sword and armor that provides immunity to slashing damage. Wouldn't be surprised if Power had the drawback of not being able to integrate external sources of magic like Courage and Wisdom like to do, which explains it's lack of versatility.
>>
>>583410
Not magic, just part of the hero package.
>>
>>583412
Actually. Ganon is weak against divine magic due to the curse. And the most likely explanations is that light arrows are so rare he never faced them before. Same for the Master Sword, due to the curse only the Master Sword can kill him.
>>
>>583307
Don't forget to archive!
>>
>>583426
I'm pretty sure they still tear apart dark magic in general, curse or no curse. The Master Sword is the blade of evil's bane, after all, not the blade of one particular evil's bane.
