Iris' mom grins again, flashing her fangs and inch from my face as I try to hide under my wings as much as I can, I feel like a rat burrowing into a bunch of dirt right now. I try to say something as I look up at Layla's long fangs, that could easily rip through my neck if she wanted to.

I stammer and look at Iris, her eyes are glowing red and are making the creepy, and very grim and scary looking decor of the room look even worse.

"Well" Layla says as my mind blanks out as tears start to stream down my cheeks as I blubber like a little girl.

I sigh as Mali curls up into a ball, whimpering and crying just from being close to my mother. I push my glasses up with my clawed hands as I look up at her. She's smiling like she finds making Mali breakdown into a crying fit is funny, which...is actually exactly what's going on right now isn't it.

I smile, feeling a little angry at mom as her smile shrinks down to a smirk and she looks over at me lovingly.

"So how did you bring that castle over here anyways, I'm actually really curious sweetie" She says sweetly as Mali speaks in demonic tongues, no doubt crying out for help...at least I hope she isn't having another one of her realizations, I really don't want to deal with that when she's already in enough danger just being around mom.

I mean I hope she's happy enough I'm back with two of her sisters, but I guess she still enjoying scaring Mali witless like she did before we left.

I clasp my hands in front of myself, my wings hiding most of me as Mom smiles and tilts her head, brushing up against me to try and make me talk

If she were, she wouldn't have let Iris go alone with mali on a long journey outside of Brausburg. So she clearly isn't, she has a lot of confidence in her childrens ability.

I smile and sit down next to her, after scooting my chair a bit closer to her. Just hope her mother doesn't notice that I moved it. I put my hand in my lap, and start to squirm around, feeling bored and cooped up even though I was just scared for my life a little bit ago. I bite my lip, shifting my hips around as I try to get comfortable as I look around the now brightly lit room.

"Oh" I say nodding slowly "So you're just going to tell them when she comes back with her?"

"Only way I could think about it, since she dragged my aunts away before we could enact our previous plan" She sighs, leaning against me, frowning and showing her fangs as I continue petting her "So its the best we can do without keeping it a secret and possibly making it worse when we do eventually have to tell her"

"Yeah" I say as I move my hand off of her head, as she sits back up.

I lick my lips nervously, and start to tap all of my fingers on my thighs as I look around for anything to take my mind off of what's going on right now. Wait, I could just summon up some sweets, and calm myself down the old fashioned way couldn't I?

I giggle and wiggle my toes as I kick my legs out and lean back as I sigh, covering myself in pink smoke as I relax in my chair, despite the fact my instincts scream at me not to, and to run away into the night.

Iris looks at me, not saying a word as her parents turn to me and lean close, Layla stepping infront of maria as I slide down my chair and pit more, and suck out at least half of my milkshake as their red eyes glow. Maria's smiling happily and Layla is frowning, looking deadly serious as I swallow my sweet drink and wince as I get a slight brain freeze.

Chuckling nervously, I look back at Iris and she glances away, blushing cause she knows that I'm going to get her back for this later

And honestly, I think that's a good thing. She went from some random ass potato farmer with potentially shit parents to the immortal demon familiar and lover of a princess. I'd say her life has markedly improved since her "death".

I swallow and whine, as she leans closer to me, showing her fangs as every part of me screams to run away, hide somewhere dark and never come out again. I bite my tongue, and manage to not fall apart crying. I laugh happily, and scoop Iris up into a hug, nuzzling her as I press myself against her, still laughing as she freeze up in shock and then slowly melts against me, hugging me back as she smiles happily and sighs. I hold her there for a while, just enjoying her as she lays against me.

The wind gets colder, and blows harder as we walk through the streets, getting soaked to our bones with rain as I try my best to not get carried away on the wind with My umbrella. it could be a little...warmer and not so wet, but I mean it's still fine because I'm out here with Iris. And besides she's just adorable when she's flapping her wings to get the water off of them, and hiding her face against me when we walk past one of the few people out and about on a day like this. But once we don't walk by someone for a while, Iris calms down and sighs as we rush under the awning of the big red building just outside of the plaza and shopping district for the rich and more well off folks.

"I'm sorry I couldn't wait for a better day to do this, this weather is just terrible" Iris says calmly, as she pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose with her clawed thumb, as I walk over to the posters hanging on the front of this place and frown "...Mali, have you ever been to a theater before?"

"No" I say sadly as I run my hand down one of the posters, of a girl that kind of looks like me before...grrr, I grit my teeth and turn away, smiling as I laugh and follow Iris inside "But I couldn't find a better person to share my first time with"
