For once, everyone is home this morning, and up at a normal hour. It's the day of Haiiro's initiation ceremony at the Academy, and your whole family is going to be there. You manage to get your hair under control, or as under control as you can, and pick out a nice shirt and pair of pants for yourself, along with your dress shoes. You'd like to go in your ninja gear, but your mother put her foot down, saying that everyone should look nice for this. You can hear here and Shirou through the wall even now, arguing about how your sister has almost nothing remotely formal. When you finish dressing and leave your room, you're joined by your mother in the hall, who compliments you, and mentions that she managed to find something for your sister.

You head downstairs while she waits for Shirou to meet your father and Haiiro in the living room. Both of them are already ready, though your cousin looks a bit nervous. Your father complements you on your choice as well.

You thank your dad, and compliment him back, saying that it's weird to see him not dressed down or in a flak jacket. You then turn to Haiiro telling her, "Don't worry about the Academy, I'm sure you'll do great." You pat her head, "Just remember the basics, you don't need any kind of fancy techniques in the Academy, it's just a fancy daycare. And if it doesn't go well, that's fine, most genin don't even pass the Chunin Exams."

At this Haiiro pipes up, "Does this mean you won't train me anymore?" She's looking at you nervously.

You assure her that you'll continue training her when you have the time. After a few more minutes of idle chatter with your cousin and dad, Shirou and your mother come down the stairs. Shirou is in a dress and jacket that you're certain are for warmer days, and not the brisk fall morning it is out, but you also figure she doesn't have any other formal wear. You all leave and head to the Academy. There are quite a few people there, the families of each of the kids entering the Academy, you assume. You spot Hakurin with her parents and siblings in the crowd.

When the seating is done, you're sat between your mother and Shirou, with Shirou sitting next to Hakurin's brother, Heian. Your mother is to your left, with your father next to her, and Haiiro in the outermost seat. To your right, after Heian, are Hakurin, her mother and father, and her sister, Hyaku is sat in the innermost seat, next to the aisle. You greet Hakurin across your respective siblings and chat for a short time. Heian and Shirou obviously aren't comfortable next to each other, mostly because of her fidgeting.

Eventually, both Haiiro and Hyaku go up to register and receive their books. The ceremony continues afterwards without incident, besides Shirou asking you something you had to hit her for about the byakugan. Your mother bids farewell, and heads to her restaurant for the incoming busy lunch rush from the Academy Ceremony. Your father tells you he'll stay with Haiiro for her orientation, leaving you with Shirou.

He just shrugs, noting that he's only dabbled in the basics besides taijutsu. You thank him anyway.

Heian and their dad head to the Hyuuga Compound while you and Hakurin head in the opposite direction, behind the Academy, and up the Hokage Monument.

When you reach the top with your teammate, you walk around the park, enjoying the seasonally nice weather, and the colors of the leaves on the trees, as well as her company. Eventually you come to the spot which overlooks the village, and gaze out together.

You wake up the next morning and get your ninja gear and a pack together, before bidding your parents, sister, and cousin farewell. You quickly make your way to the village gate jumping from roof to telephone pole almost all the way.

When you get there, the whole team is assembled, Mitasu, your partner from your previous assignment is talking to the person you're supposed to escort, Basaruto Namikaze, while Hōōmaru-sensei talks to someone in a flack jacket with their back turned to you, who you don't recognize.

You shake your head, saying that you don't remember who he is, and Shirou hasn't said anything to you about this mission. He crosses his arms and says something about Shirou still being unreliable. "It's me Kuro, Meisai, your cousin from the capital. Been a few years though."

It clicks, he's a few years older now, and a bit more... dainty than you would have thought, but he is your cousin Meisai. He's a year older than Shirou, so between her and Hōōmaru-sensei, and your father's sister's son- albeit adopted. You didn't think he would ever become a ninja, seeing that his father isn't the biggest fan of the profession, but judging my the forehead protector he's wearing with the kanji for 'fire' embossed on it, he's a Jounin under the Capital, rather than the village.

You apologize for not recognizing him, and ask if you're all all set to go. Sensei stops you, and says that another chunin was added on at the last moment.

Your group travels into the begining of the night until you fall upon a small inn, where Basaruto tells you that you're staying. Your pace to where you're heading isn't grueling, but you do need to be there within the week. Your group stays in the inn.

After another small inn and an uneventful day, your team finds your themselves in the Land of Rice Paddies' capital. It's a small city located atop a hill surrounded by rice paddies as far as the eye can see. There are no domestic ninjas though, which has been the case since Orochimaru relinquished control of the country. There are, however, a number of chakra-wielding samurai, distinguished from those of the Land of Iron by their yellow pleated armor.

When your team gets there, Taiomon and Mitasu are told to stay with Basaruto while Hōōmaru and Meisai speak with the Daimyo.

The first man shushes him, "Yeah, yeah, on account of that." The first says.

You shift your position in the stool to hear them better. The second chuckles, "Well, I hope it all goes well for them."

The gruff-voiced man goes to say something else, but stops, and you hear the two leave. When you shifted positions, your forehead protector, which you wear hanging from your belt, ornamented by the gem the Tsuchikage gave you, must have hit the bar and spooked them into looking at it.

You pull your client aside, "Basaruto, I went into one of the bars to see if I could collect some information," you tell him, "And I overheard two men talking about some kind of meeting, and maybe the Hidden Waterfall."

The older blond looks spooked, "Is that all you heard?" he asks you, worriedly.

"Yeah, that was it, they ran when they saw my forehead protector." You finish the story for him.

"But you don't even..." He looks down at your belt, "Oh, anyway, did you get a look at them?"

You tell him that you didn't and figured telling him was more important than tailing them, in case they left the city.

"This is bad," he says, "We need to pick up the pace, I'll tell the Daimyo's Man that." He's more pensive now as you go back to Taiomon and Mitasu.

When Meisai and Hōōmaru return, Taiomon takes them aside, and tells them as much. Meisai and Basaruto head to the city's entrance. Hōōmaru comes back to you chunin, "Sorry guys, but it looks like we're making a beeline for the Mountain's Graveyard," she says in a disappointed tone, "We'll be going as quickly as possible."

After four days of a grueling pace, sleeping at most four hours a night, you arrive at the Moutain's Graveyard. You don't know when this was built, or who built it, but there's a massive building here, something for large get-togethers like Kage Summits you suppose.

Basaruto leads you in. Inside the huge gates is a courtyard, each of you are searched and assigned to paired quarters. You're with Meisai, Hōōmaru and Mitasu are together, and Taiomon is rooming with Basaruto. There's an atrium beyond that, where six other groups of people are. You only recognize three people here besides your group, there's V, the rapping genin from the Cloud, his jounin sensei, L, and the former Eighth Raikage A. Aside from them, there's another group from the Cloud. A smaller group from the Mist, and a pretty big group from the Stone.

This room is some kind of auditorium, and A takes the stage, when everyone is seated.

"Greetings envoys from each nation," He starts, with his trademark lisp, though his ten gallon hat now has a large, diamond-shaped forehead protector sown onto the front instead of the "lightning" kanji. "To the Jinchuuriki Summit, I am here escorting the young Jinchuuriki of the Eight Tails, V," he waves to the boy, who sheepishly waves back. "Anyway, all I have to say is that the other Mist group, along with the Sealing Team, will be arriving in three day's time, while the Sand group should be here in two." He yawns to the side, "Now, the Head of this Summit has been named, and that's the real reason I'm up here, alright?" The gestures to the Stone group, "Kiretsuchi, Jinchuuriki of the Four Tails, you have been named Leader of the Tailed Beast Summit. Congratulations!" He says, before he starts clapping, the rest of the Cloud group claps as well, though not as enthusiastically, you see the old man from the Mist grinning, while the young woman attending him tries to rock the young child she's carrying asleep. The group from the Stone is in a raucous clamor as well, congratulating their own.

Basaruto is fuming, "I should be the leader, Kurama is my beast." You hear him say under his breath. Hōōmaru-sensei, Mitasu, and Meisai are all clapping politely, Taiomon seems to be scanning the crowd.

You can see a smirk slim through as one of the people in the Stone delegation bursts into laughter, a large man wearing a hat adorned with what looks like a smokestack.

MItasu pipes up finally, "We can talk about this in the morning, I'm sure we all need a good night's rest." You and Hōōmaru agree, all heading to bed. You fall asleep before Meisai arrives in your shared room.

Future Naruto Quest


This quest is set within the universe of Naruto, long after the end of the series, but ignoring the events of the Boruto Manga. Of course, because this is Naruto we're talking about, the geopolitics and technology haven't advanced as quickly as they would in the real world. As such, the technology is similar to that of Boruto the Movie, and the villages you know and love are largely the same.


However, the characters will be less familiar, because as much time has passed between the Last and now as passed between the Founding of the Hidden Villages and the Main Series.


You are playing as Kuro Nijiiroh, a Hidden Leaf Chunin of twelve years. You’re a member of Hōōmaru Tachibana’s Team Seven, along with your teammates, Hakurin Hyuga, and Jimmaru ████ Uchiha. Your family consists of your older sister, an ANBU Black Ops, Shirou; your mother, the restaurateur Ki; and your father, a Hand Seals Specializing Tokubetsu Jounin.
