You start to power up, readying yourself to attack. Acer tries to sense around for the incoming threat. And right as you start to move... something blasts at the area in front of you. You back away in time, Acer looking up and shouting out, “Kougeki!”

You catch a glimpse of the green, red-haired alien for a moment as he then bolts to 14‘s body, picking it up and moving it to 13. You use the Raio-ken to blast towards 13 and 15, moving as quickly as you can to intercept. Acer attempts to fire a Kamehameha at Kougeki, Goku and Raditz attempting to drop-kick him into the ground, but he avoids their attacks. Lapzi flings a Destructo Disk at him... but he only barely avoids it in time, gaining a deep gash on his cheek as he tosses 14‘s remains to the trucker cyborg.

You do manage to reach 15‘s head, and with a mighty kick send it halfway across the planet!

...but just not in time for you to stop what 13 was trying to do. The cyborg’s body bulks up considerably, hair standing on end, skin... why is he turning blue? And... what the hell?

“Well, on the plus side, I now want to punch his smug face even harder. Gero’s very considerate giving the machine Vegeta’s hair.” Raditz comments, standing with his brother.

The combined robot looks down at you maliciously. Shit. You back away almost instinctively... and then this Super 13 does something you weren’t quite expecting.

The machine looks down at its hands, clenching them into fists, smirking...“Looks like Doc was right about GATTAI...” He raises his fist into the sky, everyone taking a defensive stance. He then... points upwards. “ALIENS AND EARTHLING TRAITORS! YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!” he announces, striking a pose. “THE EARTH’S STRONGEST PROTECTOR WILL FACE YOU ON THIS DAY, AND RID THIS WORLD OF YOUR VILLAINY!” The machine seems to dance in place, then flexes its muscles. “PREPARE TO FACE THE POWER OF THE GRIM REAPER OF JUSTICE! Well, guess you’ll find out if there’s a robot heaven after all!” You spread your legs a bit, pulling one of your arms back. “You say you’re Earth’s protector? You serve a man who wishes to make the Earth bow to him and his word alone, dance to his mechanical tune!” You wave your other arm across the air. “And you yourself consume your allies for your own selfish gain! That... well, at the very least, it seemed to make him take a moment to appreciate you returning his challenge. “Doc will make the Earth great again! Aliens like you have given the world a false sense of security, it will never be safe so long as you claim to ‘protect’ it! I WILL BRING JUSTICE TO YOU, AND SHOW THE UNIVERSE WHAT A REAL HERO OF EARTH IS L-”

His speech is interrupted momentarily by Goku’s boot ramming into Super 13‘s face. While distracting him, it seems to only... well, annoy him. He grabs Goku by the leg and...

Just about all the boys there, even Kougeki and Lapzi, either flinch or let out an audible, group groan of pain as Super 13 punches Goku in the crotch.

Goku’s then slammed into the ground, knocked out of Super Saiyan and letting out a groan of his own. You glare harder at Super 13. “Dick move.”

“That it was, haha! Well, he’ll need more than a Senzu for that one!” the combined machine laughs. “As I was saying-” A Ki blast from Raditz hits Super 13 in the back of the head. “WOULD YOU STOP THAT?!”

Lapzi moves to focus on Kougeki with Chiaotzu, trying to keep him away from Krillin, who’s raised his arms into the air, as Raditz pulls Goku away from Super 13, Acer leaping to stand by you. “Well, on the plus side, he’s distracted.”

You retaliate with a secret weapon: the Tuffle Eyes. This has to work! And you’ll be able to hold off 13 with-

‘You just got out of a Fusion with Chiaotzu, don’t you have to wait?’

...damn it. “Well, you can’t just stand there doing nothing!”

Super 13 starts to approach you both, cracking his knuckles. “You think you’re some big hero, hot shot? I bet you can’t even manage it. At least she puts up the effort! Face me, you little villainous coward!”

Your brother’s eye twitches. “Oh shut up! I’ve saved the Earth plenty of times before, and you? You’re nothing but another pile of bolts Gero cooked up, with an even more inflated ego this time around.” He draws his sword, taking a stance with you. “You’re going on a one-way trip to the scrap heat, you blue, redneck Vegeta wannabe!”

You draw your own sword, and the two of you rush at him, full speed! Super 13... doesn’t even try to dodge Acer’s blade. He just catches it and kicks your brother in the gut, sending him flying as the cyborg almost effortlessly dodging your attack. “Justice is with the victors! And the victor here today will be us! YOU’RE HISTORY, ALIEN SCUM!”

You stop yourself as he starts to charge a powerful Ki blast, locking on Goku, Raditz, and Acer. That... that is strong enough to seriously hurt them! Agh, damn it... “GUYS, DODGE!”

Kougeki bolts down and kicks Acer in the back of the head, grabbing Goku and Raditz and knocking their skulls together. Lapzi tries to chase after him, but they unfuse at just the wrong moment. Super 13 keeps charging. “TAKE THIS! SS DEADLY-”

“CLOTHES BEAM!” you shout, blinding Super 13 with a pink BAD MAN shirt.

“GRRAAAHH, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!” he shouts, firing the attack... and missing everyone completely. The red, swirling sphere of energy instead collides with Kougeki, sending him flying. The combined machine tears away the pink shirt, glaring at you. “Oh you are ASKING for it, you alie-”

“CLOTHES BEAM!” you shout again, tossing a frilly pink dress both at him... and ON him! And for the finishing touch... a pretty pink wig, to cover up that rediculous Vegeta hair!

Goku stands and takes a serious stance. “Nice one, Maple! All right Super 13, your days are-”

His speech is interrupted by... Raditz laughing. Followed by Acer, then Lapis and Lazuli. Super 13 roars “SILENCE!” at the top of his lungs, angrily tearing away the dresses you made for him.

You all feel a sudden flash, like a huge amount of Ki just arrived out of nowhere. Krillin! And it looks like Super 13 is still distracted, you can win this!

“Goku, Raditz! You two need to fuse, quickly!” you shout, trying to fling another pink dress at Super 13. This time, though, he blasts it away before you can get it on him. He then tries to fire a series of Ki blasts at you, you only barely dodging him in time.

The two Saiyans look to each other, Raditz hesitantly. But it’s now or never. Acer, Lapis, Lazuli, and Chiaotzu rush Super 13, trying to take pot shots at him. He’s clearly not in the mood to play games, though, and flies right past them, clotheslining Goku and Raditz before they get through the second step. “It may be a bit uncooth to attack during combination sequence, but I’m NOT letting you aliens merge!” he declares, flinging them to the ground, charging that same red Ki blast again. “NOW, LET’S SEE HOW YOU LIKE THE TASTE OF JUSTICE! SS DEADLY-”

“Will ‘o Wisp!” Acer calls out, blinding Super 13 with an explosion of flame. Lapis quickly teleports Goku and Raditz out of harm’s way as the Ki blast 13 is charging detonates in front of him.

...wait, aha! “Guys, let’s throw some Magic at this mechanical menace!” You start charging, moving to the ground and trying to draw Super 13‘s attention away.

Chiaotzu and Acer nod, a Dodonpa flying at Super 13 and freezing part of his arm. Acer flinga another Will ‘o Wisp at where Chiaotzu froze, causing a quick flash from the temperature differance. You reach a full charg, and blast that good ‘ol Spooky Spark at the red and blue Red Ribbon menace!

Super 13 lets out an angry shout, falling over momentarily. The stun might not last long...

‘Almost got it, guys! Just a little more!’ Krillin’s voice echoes in your head. You look up, and...

Woah.

That... that thing is HUGE! And there’s a titanic amount of Ki in there. But... you’re not sure how long you can keep this up...

‘Everyone, Krillin needs just a bit more of a push! Raise your hands!’ you ask your friends. Super 13 looks to you, confused. “...You’re so strong, 13! Man, you keep taking all these attacks, and it’s like they don’t even phase you! Guess we have no choice but to give up!” you tell him, trying your hardest to not sound too cheeky.

Super 13... doesn’t like this. And so he charges a Ki blast. “Then it’s time you face the flames of justice, alien!”

Ah crap. You’re about to try to retaliate, but Goku quickly grabs 13 from behind in a full nelson, lifting him off the ground. You spare some of your Ki for Krillin and then quickly charge a Denjin Kamehameha. The cyborg manages to break free, but you quickly teleport to Goku and help him from falling. Super 13‘s blank, red eyes widen slightly as the two of you then charge the Kamehamehas together, and blast him, point blank, with all your might!

“Everyone, after you’ve given a bit, try to keep him pinned down!” you holler, flying with Goku and knocking Super 13 into a lake.

“ENOUGH!” he roars, bolting out of the water, a barrier around him. “Oh you are ALL in for it now! LET JUSTICE... RAIN!”

Powerful bursts of Ki start to shower from his barrier, blasting at everyone. You manage to avoid the brunt of it, but even with that he gets a few lucky hits in. You and Goku fall, Super 13 dashing to you by the shore of the lake. He stands over you, red, hateful light filling your vision. The Red Ribbon robot smirks. “This is over!”

“This is for everything you’ve done to Brench! For all you and your ilk have ruined!” Lapis and Lazuli declare to him as they teleport next to you, and together the three of you blasting him in the back, while his guard’s down, and send him fling into the air towards Krillin.

“KRILLIN, NOW!” Lazuli shouts.

“Here’s a message, from everyone across Brench, and the entire system! YOU’RE FINISHED!” Krillin flings the giant energy attack at Super 13. “SPIRIT BOMB!”

The bright blue sphere engulfs the mechanical menace... and then seems to fling itself far above the planet’s surface, flying into space. The detonation fills the sky with a brilliant light. And... your Scouter confirms, Super 13 is gone for good.

Goku helps you up, and the two of you embrace in a tight hug. “We did it!”

You all appear at the remains of the World Tournament Stage... and are immediately surprised by the immense eneregies you feel. Both from Chuu Lee... and Vegeta. You spot Chi-chi among the remaining fighters there. Nappa standing with Tarble, a mixture of anger... and fear across his face, the smaller Saiyan simply staring up in amazement. Piccolo stoically looks up, giving a brief glance to acknowledge your return. Yamcha, Tien, and Launch look to you. “Well hey guys, welcome back!” your scar-faced friend says with a wave... right as a tremendous shockwave fills the area.

Chi-chi looks to you, frowning. “She’s being stubborn. Told me not to interfere either, but Vegeta’s strength keeps rising...”

You look to your former student... and smile and nod at her. “You’ve come a long way, Chuu Lee. So get out there and KICK HIS ASS! YOU CAN DO IT!”

Chi-chi seems a little surprised by your reaction, and you catch a glimpse of Piccolo glaring at you, but you keep cheering. That catches Vegeta’s attention, a hateful look thrown in your direction briefly, then he continues the fight. He tries firing a barrage of Ki blasts at Chuu Lee, only for her to expertly deflect them into the air above.

She bolts at Vegeta with lightning speed, then unleashes a powerful series of punches and kicks, each one seeming to pull Vegeta back to her as he’s knocked away by them, trying to get out of her reach. Lapis smiles wide. “So you’ve really mastered the Meteor Crash, huh?”

Chuu Lee then axe-kicks Vegeta down to the ground, the Saiyan prince barely managing to stop himself by firing an energy wave at it to slow his descent. “B-bitch... you... you’re nothing but a piece of trash Earthling! YOU CAN’T BE MATCHING MY POWER LIKE THIS! WHAT KIND OF TRICKS ARE YOU PULLING?!”

“No tricks, Vegeta!” she declares, briefly recharging her Ki. “It’s just like I said, Maple was right about this! About drawing strength from learning with others!” She takes her stance. “I’d never be as strong as I am now if it weren’t for her. And for Acer, and Goku, and Tien! Lapis, Lazuli, Krillin, Chi-chi, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, Bulma, Keli, Lao, Shao, Bisa... they’re the ones who’ve made me as strong as I am today!” she roars, flying down. “I fight for the Earth because of them! And I WILL stop you, Vegeta!”

The Saiyan yells defiantly at her, flinging a Ki blast that she dodges, and then tries to detonate it- ...wait a minute, there was something fishy about that Ki blast. Its energy... it’s all wrong. And it caused a brief drop in Vegeta’s Ki...

You contact Trip, Kami, and Baba, trying to see if they’ve been observing this battle too, and then ask them a bit about what Vegeta’s boost has been like. You heal Goku as you listen in. Apparently... well, it is like what Towa used to boost Garlic Jr, but something about it is more... “refined.”

The strange part is that Vegeta seems to keep burning through it almost as fast as he’s boosted by it. Maybe... he’s figured it out on his own, and is trying to get rid of it as fast as he can?

The two fighters land on the remains of the Tournament floor, exchanging blows faster and faster. Chuu Lee... well, she’s doing well, but you’re starting to see her tire out quicker than Vegeta. Maybe...

You look to Goku briefly. That’s right, when you were fighting Turles! Trip did something that gave him a massive boost, strong enough to finish the other Super Saiyan. But... there’s something about Vegeta’s powe up that feels different to it. Like it’s... the opposite side of the same coin.

You’re going to want to talk with her about this after all this is over.

A brief surge in Vegeta’s Ki happens again, right as he manages to get a solid hit directed at Chuu Lee’s gut. He then grabs her by the hair and tries to headbutt her... only for her to counter with an Explosive Wave that sends Vegeta flying into the air. “SHIN! SHO! TEN! KEEEEEENNN!” she roars, uppercutting into the air... and causing a powerful twister of Ki that hits Vegeta as he’s flying.

Vegeta stops, pulling his hands back. “YOU... YOU WILL NOT BEAT ME! NO!”

Wait... he’s done this before! “Chuu Lee, you have to stop him, now!” you shout. “That attack could slit the Earth in half!”

Nearly everyone lets out a gasp. Chi-chi almost immediately starts the first syllable to the Samma Vaca... but Chuu Lee stops her. “Vegeta.” she addresses, the red aura of the Kaio-ken flaring around her harder. “You’re been an awesome opponent. Truly you’re one of the strongest fighters in the world... no, the universe! But!” She cups her hands together. “This malice you feel right now? This isn’t you! And you know damn well it isn’t, don’t you?!”

“SHUT UP! I REFUSE TO BE HUMILIATED LIKE THIS!”

“She’s right, Vegeta.” Nappa tells the Saiyan Prince. “This world isn’t worth it, you know that!”

“DON’T MAKE ME END YOU TOO, NAPPA!” he seethes out. “I WILL KILL YOU, EARTHLING! WITH EVERY OUNCE OF STRENGTH I HAVE LEFT, YOU WILL DIE BY MY HANDS!”

The Announcer guy gulps, then talks to the camera still broadcasting the fight. “V-Vegeta has just made a threat on his opponent’s life! If he follows through with it-”

“HE WON’T!” Chuu Lee shouts confidently. “THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD, VEGETA! SHINKU! KAAA... MEE... HAAA...”

“SUPER GALICK GUN!”

“MEEEEE!”

“FIIIIIIIRE!!!”

“HAAAAA!”

The two fighters unleash their attacks, a powerful shockwave traveling through the area as the beams collide. Vegeta keeps trying to push more and more Ki out, and each time, that power seems to try to refill his strength.

You shield your eyes for a moment... and Chuu Lee smirks. “There! KAIO-KEN... TIMES SIX!”

Right as Vegeta finishes sending another burst of Ki through his Galick Gun, Chuu Lee’s attack seems to... almost drill through it, spiraling with added Ki, pushing it back. Vegeta tries to pump more energy into his attack, but it’s too late.

He’s engulfed in the attack.

The light fades from the struggling beams, Chuu Lee falling to one knee, panting heavily, her body twitching...

And Vegeta lands ourside the ring with a loud “thud.” Nappa and Tarble rush to his side, the smaller Saiyan sighing in relief as he confirms Vegeta is still alive.

“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, SHE’S DONE IT! CHUU LEE HAS KNOCKED VEGETA OUT COLD, AND OUT OF THE RING!” the Announcer guy declares, running to her side. “CHUU LEE IS THE NEW WORLD MARTIAL ARTS CHAMPION! LET'S GIVE HER A ROUND OF APPLAUSE, THE STRONGEST UNDER THE HEAVENS!”

Lapis is the second one in the ring, helping her stand. “D-don’t scare me like that again! Jeeze! You could have been killed!”

“H-had to... I... I learned how to... c-counter it...” she pants out, laughing slightly.

They walk out of the ring, towards your group. Chuu Lee looks at you, smiling softly.

“I’m just glad we all made it through this in one piece.” she replies humbly.

“So... if you don’t mind me asking, as your former master, what exactly did you find a counter to?” you question, trying to not make that question sound too pressuring, and... mostly succeeding.

“What was happening to Vegeta. He kept wasting energy like that, I was keeping track of how often it happened. And I hit a breakthrough. If timed right, I could hit at the nadir of his power. I’m not sure if that’s because of him, or if it’s an actual flaw to what was happening to him... but if it’s the latter, then it’s worth investigating.” she explains with a humble smile. “Agh... that still hurt like hell, though...”

“Smart move, Champ.” you laugh. “But... you also made a bet with Vegeta, didn’t you?”

She blushes slightly, looking away. “M-more... renewed a bet. The one you made...”

“Chuu Lee ensured that you’d be allowed as the boy’s godmother.” Piccolo states grumpily. “Though the Dragon Ball wish still stands. Vegeta told her to choose. That’s the one she chose.”

You look to her, a little surprised. She smiles humbly. “...I thought about all you’ve done for me. All that... well, all of us have done for each other. I don’t want to deny that for the kid. And I wanted to make sure Vegeta knew clearly why I renewed that bet. I...” She lets out a soft laugh. “...I guess I wanted him to see the true power of the Earth, of why we got so strong, and how it wasn’t just some fluke. It’s also why I wanted to beat him at his best.”

You hug her tight again, then pick Chuu Lee up and have her sit on your shoulders. “Champ, you’re the best! Everyone, let’s give her three cheers!”

You then feel Goku quickly pick you up and set you on his shoulders. “For both the Earth’s Champions! You two are the best!”

“W-wah! Maple, Goku, stoooop!” she laughs out, wobbling slightly at the top of this Champion totem the three of you made, everyone having a good laugh over it.

You then spot Vegeta. Still out cold. Tarble looks to your group, Nappa sitting down next to the Saiyan prince.

Run through a series of medical questions to make sure that towa didnt cause any lasting damage to him or his ki production with her magic. Use this to also make sure that his personality hasn't changed.

“He... he looked so... ready, ready to kill us all just to spite her...” he breathes out.

“It wasn’t him completely. You saw it, Tarble. Someone was messing with Vegeta’s head, making him stronger... but more malicious.” you tell him. “...and even if it was subconsciously, Vegeta was fighting against it.” That seems to cheer him up slightly, Nappa stoically nodding at you. “In any case, there’s something else we need to discuss. You recall how your world’s in peril? Looks like Brench is dealing with the same threat... or, was, hopefully...”

You explain the encounter on Brench with the super-strong PTO soldiers, and the Red Ribbon menaces. The fact that Brench has a captured soldier lifts his spirits more, as it means they might be able to figure out more on what’s been going on... and what might be happening with Kuriza. Hopefully... well, even if it’s a long shot, the boy can move away from the path the rest of his family went down.
