Take us on a tourmaline of your fictional marbles.

After a good night of rest, you awaken to another beautiful day at the Northern Air Temple. Feeling once more refreshed, you leave your room at once and head toward the courtyard, hoping to find someone to train with.

As usual, various groups of young Airbenders can be seen learning under the watchful tutelage of the various monks in charge of the temple. But, you don't spot any of your friends.

However, one of them spots you, and you hear Doyu call your name.

Spinning around, you see the young Air Nomad approaching, a smile on his face.

"Good morning," he greets.

"Good morning," you reply.

"So, listen, while you were off at the library, we usually trained by having Mauya and Sansha work together to fight me," he explains. "But since you're back, and we saw that you can fight me on your own, why don't we split up and each pick one of the girls to spar with."

At first, he seems to think you're joking, but when he figures out that you're serious, he gives you a look of concern.

"Sei, you're a great bender, but that's not a fair fight," Doyu tells you.

"I can handle it," you assure him.

Not seeming like he really cares enough to force the issue, he simply shrugs and agrees to let you try and fight the three of them at once. He probably figures that it won't last long; you'll get thrashed and then the group can move onto his training plan.

He's probably right, but the challenge does sound like a lot of fun.

"Well, knowing the girls, they'll be asleep for another half hour," Doyu tells you. "So we have some time to kill."

"Sei wants to fight all three of us," Doyu tells her.

Sansha turns to you, looking at you like you're an imbecile. "Sei, you know you can't win that fight."

"We'll see what Mauya thinks," Doyu decides, and the three of you wait for the young Waterbender to show herself.

When Mauya reaches the courtyard, the others inform her of the bet. Mauya looks at you like you're a complete moron.

"Just so we're clear, if we win, we can ask you three questions each, but if you win, you can ask us three altogether," Mauya sums up.

"You sure you want to do this?" Doyu asks.

Mauya smirks. "Good luck, Sei."

The four of you head to the stables, and you notice that, much like Sansha and Mauya told you, a lot of the young Air Nomads seem to be checking them out as they make their way through the temple. Clearly, they notice, as they seem to get steadily more angry as you head to the stables.

Pengsong greets you with one of his typical terrifying sounds, but Gava seems to be busy eating. Doyu approaches the bison, petting him and encouraging him to finish eating.

After ingesting a pile of hay about the size of a person, Gava gives a low growl, and Doyu tells you to climb on.

A short flight later, you find yourself by the lake. Doyu, Sansha, and Mauya hop off the bison, with Mauya moving toward the lake, and Doyu and Sansha moving on opposite sides of you.

Building a solid defense seems to be your best bet, at least you think it is.

You begin making the motions to create a dome around yourself, but Mauya strikes, throwing a jet of water right at you. Luckily for you, her efforts to be swift have caused her to get sloppy, and you easily avoid the attack.

Doyu, who seemed to be waiting on the defensive, attacks with an Air Blast, but the delay gives you enough time to move out of the way.

Sansha, on the other hand, is on her game, and rushes forward, tackling you from the side and knocking you to the ground.

She lands next to you, one arm around your body and the other reaching for one of her blades.

"Give up?" she asks you.

Mauya smirks, walking toward you.

As you open your mouth to answer, everything goes dark. Frowning, you glance upward to see dozens of shapes moving through the air. It takes only a moment for you to realize that they're Sky Bison, and shouting from the direction of the temple lets you know that something's wrong.

You see one of the bison swoop down toward the massive structure, and, as you watch with shock, a plume of flame shoots down from its back, presumably toward some people below.

"What just happened?" Mauya asks in shock.

More of the bison swoop down, and you see a few being repelled by gusts of wind, but most dropping so low that you lose sight of them.

Doyu rushes toward Gava, with Sansha right behind him.

"Unfreeze him, now!" Sansha shouts as she and Doyu climb on Gava's back.

Mauya nods, and you feel the ice around you melt.

"Alright," you tell Doyu, rushing over to Gava and climbing on.

Mauya is right behind you, and once she's onboard, Doyu takes off on Gava, directing the Sky Bison toward the temple. As the massive creature moves through the air, you feel quite uneasy, and not just because of the impending fight.

You've made use of Sky Bison flight to get to and from the library all week, but you still haven't really gotten used to it. As an Earthbender, you prefer to have nice, solid ground beneath your feet, or at least sand or something. Being in the sky feels unnatural.

Another Sky Bison comes down to fly beside Gava, and two men with bows take aim at you and the others.

Strangely enough i dont think of lantana as being particularly pretty.

Buff yes, statuesque sure, but not super pretty.

Mauya is probably the most classically pretty.

Standing up on Gava's back, you nearly fall off the Bison as you struggle to keep your balance. Sansha and Mauya stare up at you in confusion, while Doyu focuses on directing his bison.

The two men with bows look at you like you're an idiot, which means they don't see you as a threat. That works to your advantage as you leap over to the other bison, landing right in front of one of the men.

As you pick yourself up, you pull out your sword, slamming the hilt into the side of the nearest man's head. The impact knocks the man onto his side, and onto the Bison's tail, which he slides right off, screaming as he falls to the ground below.

The Bison lets out a concerned cry, but the man flying it orders it to shut up, and continues flying as the other man turns toward you, taking aim with his bow.

He's not fast enough, and your blade slashes across his throat. His weapon drops from his hands, and, with a push, you drop him off the Bison, sending him to join his friend below.

With the two archers dead, you move up behind the man directing the Bison. Reaching around, you hold your blade to his throat.

"Tell me what's going on," you order. "Why are you attacking?"

"K-Kalana told us to!" the man stammers. "I don't know why! P-please don't kill me!"

"Land this Bison," you instruct.

"Okay, okay!" the man says, directing the bison to land.

The creature lands just outside of the temple.

"Get off the Bison," you order the man.

He does as you say, and you slide off behind him, slamming the hilt of your sword onto the back of his head, knocking him out cold.

Gava lands nearby, and the others slide off.

"Find a place to hide," Doyu instructs the Bison.

Gava growls, taking to the air and flying off.

"That was impressive," Sansha comments, coming up to you. "But there's a lot more to deal with."

"We can't let them take the Temple," Doyu tells you, rushing toward the structure in an effort to join the fight.

More shadows cover the ground, and you look up to see several more Sky Bison. The beasts land a short distance away, outside of the temple, and begin to offload dozens, perhaps hundreds of men and women dressed in the uniforms of Kalana's army.

Sansha draws her blades, and Mauya moves her hands toward her canteens. The warrior girl seems well composed, if somewhat nervous, while Mauya seems terrified. You can't really blame the Waterbender; she has two canteens to help her battle an army.

"Any ideas?" Sansha asks.

We're probably about to fight. There's a large chance that a.)they could be destroyed or b.) they can be taken from us. Hiding them ensures that they're hidden from our enemies and we can grab them as we leave, after the fight.
