You are an emissary with one sole task: to awaken the gods of above and below who fled to the dream of the great one.

Inside the dream of Livendagen, you received immense help from the Pillar, the Caretaker and Bildren . You are yet to fully explore the maze of failure behind the manor.

You barely scratched the surface of this madness, Outside of the dream of Livendagen You ventured through the tar infested outskirts of Blackwood Quarters , the peaceful yet dangerous Milkwood forest and the corpse riddled tainted grounds , The New Oorlith Bloodward remains unexplored.
You have met an array of potential allies outside of the dream; Histianne, Ayne, Gunheart Folt as well as cunning foes such as Snitches the fly

You touched the lamp leading to the tainted grounds; you had a score to settle.

.

The tainted grounds was unwelcoming as ever with its pile of bloated corpses littering the scene...

!!! Poison is slowly increasing !!!

You reminded yourself that you could drink the Milkblood at anytime to cleanse your body. However, it is not a wise choice as it also drains insight .

You struggled a bit to reach the same pit you were kicked into. Thankfully, there were no foes around although you could hear a lot of buzzing in this forsaken place. Snitches was there alright. Oh, the look on his face....

"What the-? H-how did yo-? Now,now, let us be civil about this alright? I have no idea how you got out of here mate but you are safe and sound now, no? L-look, bruv, I will offer you some of my pristine goodies for free! how about that? I scour a lot with these wings, my eyes can see a lot more than those two eyes of yours....so whaddya say?"

The fly hovered over the dark pit for a couple of seconds before turning back to you "She is already worm food, mate..."

"Kill him! riddle his body with holes!" exclaimed your pistol, its tongue drooling over your trigger finger.

You doubted the fly could hear your pistol , nevertheless, Snitches was obviously nervous "W-w-wait! Listen to me for a moment, will ya? Those....scholars, they are the root of all evil in these parts with their dreams of 'kinhood'. They knew about this dream and the gods inside it..."

Snitches wiped his sweat with one of its arms "They kidnapped decent folks from the waking world and here to inject them with Kinblood the blood of the gods. I, among others are their failed products, you have no idea of the horrors conducted in both bloodwards and their damn spiral. My offer still stands...there is no need to spill blood for misinformation. J-just put the pistol down..."

Snitches flew around you in an incredible speed. He was ready to strike at any moment.

Snitches twirled down as you shot off one of its wings, He felled hard on these blighted grounds. He was clearly in immense pain "Alright you vile scum, i haven't suffered all my life as a toy for the scholars to end like this...." [

Snitches pulled out a some sort of coiled whip made out of flesh from his throat. Lots of small maggots infested this whip, it was as if they were feeding on the weapon itself.

Snitches kept whipping it forcing you to back away with each step, Snitches squeezed hard on its end which in return unleashed a wave of maggots towards you.

Your vision was starting to get blurry, the poison is claim much of your strength....

Black blood leaked from his fresh corpse...as if this land needed more diseases and corpses.

You could feel it, eating through your heart, you don't have much time. You did recall the Pillar's words promising for mending your wounds with an embrace... you were still bleeding from your back. However, something didn't seem right. At least for the Pillar.

You have little time left.

"Don't drink that, My finger. I will sorely miss you!" your pistol kept licking your trigger finger.

After cleansing your blood, you poured the rest of your quicksilver on the corpse. It gave you enough time to cut this head and to examine the body.

Snitches' head

You crushed the Petrified Pus to return to the dream.

.

You quickly made your way to the room of statues pleading for an embrace, the lacerating on your back was too much for you to bear.

"O-of course warm one, Let me embrace your pain. Ug....aa.....ah..." you could hear her wincing in pain. Her frail arms shivered during the embrace but she didn't let go.

The poison, the laceration...all gone. The pillar looked away afterwards "T-this is my duty, Should you fall in harm's way, come back to my embrace"

Nothing.

You thanked her once more before leaving. The caretaker didn't have any useful information about what you were looking for. Shame.

"What are we waiting for? I want to see his eyes glimmer in the sun!" said your pistol.

With the eyes of Snitches carved out, you wanted to give them to Histianne. The caretaker was waiting for you in the room of lamps. He had x2 Petrified Pus for you..... a gift from the goddess of duality.

.
.

The fields felt awfully silent and eerie without the croaks of the crows. You headed straight to the barn.

The woman of eyes was gutting the corpse of a twisted man with an unsettling smile.

Various eyes were locked on you "Ooooh I sense some fresh ey-aaAAAAAAAHHH!!!" A mark of coal and black blood was etched upon the eyeless forehead of Histianne.

Clutching to her bleeding and burning forehead, The woman of eyes fixed her gazes upon you "VERMIN!!! Slithering rat of the caretaker!!! No, I will NOT die so easily. I will pluck your eyes OUT!!!! "

"Never to trust this vermin.. I....the pain...burrowed deep...I...I..." Soon, Histanne collapsed on the floor. Her eyes cried pure blood. her arms and legs were twitching. You recalled the failures who outright died from this rune back in the maze. No, she is stronger than them...

Her tattered robe was soaked with her blood. Histianne cut the stitches covering her true left eye. She revealed a beatiful blue orb. Tears of pure pain trickled slowly "P-please, Leave me be..."

Phantasm

An arcane art fashioned from a woman of silver, creates Ghostsilver from two Quicksilver. Although it is less potent, Ghostsilver ignores armour. It vanishes upon touching a lamp.

x5 Milkwood vials

Yousall

A small Pistol wielded by The Whorshippers of silver, Uses three Quicksilver per shot. A single shot can illuminate even the darkest of places expanding one's field of view greatly. It can be also used to burn the flesh of unarmored foes.

Broken Silver haired Mirror

A useless mirror with the name Donathan engraved on the back.

Hastily written letter

A letter written with ones's blood.
"Silver oh silver, forgive your humble servant. My wounds are too many to bear. Worshipers of silver beware of the church.Great innocence twisted into an abomination lurks there protecting false idols."

Donathan's Outfit

An silver lined outfit wore by a whorshiper of silver. As a sharpshooter, Donathan valued the value of dashing away from harm'sway. One can feel slightly more nimble in this outfit.

More ruined crops awaited you to the south, thankfully, there were no foes around.

You chose to head to the east. The rest of the fields were dull and uninteresting. Laughs of madmen echoed from the city walls. You wondered whether the creature behind the gate was still there or not....

Left and right, you turned around. Yet no one was there, you felt like you weren't alone in the fields.

You are being watched

You approached the city walls with caution, the walls were definitely old with hints of this black tar .

The main gate was shattered. The ground is tainted with black blood, There were some broken chains on the ground as well. Up ahead, there were three men, their bones are twisted and shattered and yet they managed to stand up in most inhuman ways. One was arching his back backwards to lick the ground with its long tongue. The other two were extracting the abundant blood with their retracted blades swaying left and right in pure ecstasy. They were very light on their feet. None has noticed you so far.

Remember to vote first before rolling!

Also, For convenience sake, both Silverblood and Phantasm will succeed if the roll is 50 or above. So for an example if you want to make some silverblood before shooting, you will have to roll 2d100; one for silverblood and the other for the preceding action.

You missed your Silverblood shot, It whizzed above one of the Samplers. They turned their head in an unnatural way.

"Blooooood~ Shower ussss in your Blooood~" said one of the samplers while cutting his twisted tongue. Their bones crackled in a way that allowed them to run on all fours.

With Bloodlust clear in their eyes, They were closing the distance. Fast. Their constant hopping made it very hard for you to aim properly.

Your last shot was true; it went straight through the Sampler's twisted neck dropping him dead in a blink. Your pistol was glad with your accuracy, it licked your trigger finger in glee.

700 Blood echoes gained

You looted the following:

Sampler's blade

A simple hollowed retracted blade used by the Samplers in Blackwood quarters. Milkblood running through the Milkwood trees was somewhat different from one tree to another and so samplers were sent to taste the Milkblood, they would point out which tree is to be chopped down first. Trick: Extract blood from fresh corpses for extra blood echoes.

Sampler's outfit

An outfit worn by the samplers, reeks with old blood. It is somewhat irresistible... Attracts beasts and men alike.

With so many weapon acquired, the Emissary should have a primary and a secondary weapon. so please keep that in mind.

You followed a trail of black blood in this ruined city. Signs of desertion were everywhere around you; boarded windows and door, various luggage abandoned in the streets and of course and the seeping black tar. The city was almost empty.

You reached the church with ease. The church itself was riddled with statues of child extending their tiny arms to the sky. A distorted weeping could be heard inside. The main door was slightly opened with a trail of chains sticking out.

The man was wielding two gigantic fists of rotten flesh and bones. His attire used to be white but it is now mired with filth and blood. It awfully resembled the scholar's back in the tainted grounds. He wore a strange Ornate helmet which had tiny stones dotted all over it with a faint glow.

The woman wore an attire very similar to yours....or rather Donathan's. It was a bit cleaner than yours except for a large spot in her abdomen where her blood flows...probably from an impact done by her foe.

Her hair and eyes were silver in colour. The nameless woman had a repeating pistol.in one hand and a pristine silver rapier in the other hand.

"Shoot the victor! Reap them both! Oh...you don't have silver to feed me....shame on you." Your pistol sighed.

You took aim at the nameless man, he was struck in the back with a precise shot. The woman took an advantage of this tilt of balance and drove her rapier right at his chest.

The injured man punched the woman before backing away. Outnumbered, He crushed a black stone with haste. Black tendrils from below dragged him to the unknown, away from his certain doom.

You headed back to the Blackwood quarters' lamp. You were ready to end whatever lied in that church with the aid of Neathe. Your pistol was eager to blast whatever was inside.

Thankfully, there were no crows or madmen to harass you on the way back to the graves. A rather pleasant surprise was waiting for you....

Gunheart Folt with Neathe.

"Well, well our path cross again, Vinehelm It wasn't much of a surprise really but still..." The man of silver went silent for a moment "Too young to die, the man you found in the farmhouse. It is my mistake, no doubt for letting mere children scour a maze of dread and dismay...."

You felt more confident treading the streets with two well armed worshipers of silver. None was in your way as you made it to the church.

Folt looked at you momentarily, he whispered " Be on your guard and follow my lead..."

The chains at the half opened door were gone, only a trail black blood remained. Folt slowly sneaked by inside followed by Neathe and then yourself.

The church inside was very spacious, most of the chairs and other furniture were cast on the sides. Thick black tar combined with black blood formed an uneasy layer on the floor.

"Steady now..." Folt primed his small hand cannon toward a weeping child up ahead, said child was pale, mostly naked. Chained from above and below pinned the child who kept crying endlessly. The ceiling had lots of statutes. Children, laughing, crying, wooing and other twisted expressions.

>Keep in a tight circle with Folt and Neathe as Folt pushes towards Yuothl.
We can't be certain that the children won't go after Folt as he pushes forward, so we need to stay close to his back and fight a retreating battle to keep the children off him.

We can assume that the children won't be a problem once Yuothl is dead (or at least we'll have an extra gun to work with taking them out).
>Use the whip to keep the children at range, fire only when they get too close for comfort.
Again, Quicksilver is a limited resource. We need to conserve it where possible.

The whip is decent here due to its range. But are we permitted to switch to our other weapons at this stage?

Living Whip

>Outfit

please follow this format in the future. and do keep in mind our arcane arts and other items

Going for the whip sounds nice
>>
>>864212
Can we switch freely between our primary and secondary equips, or does it take a significant amount of time? And how long does it take for us to switch to something not currently equipped?
>>
With the Living Whip, you staved off the children around you, its range helped you greatly as well as the flesh eating maggots. You had to fire two shots at two children who are gnawing your right leg.

Neathe did her part as well, Her repeating pistol dropped many corpses on the floor. Her silver rapier sliced those who were too close. She was mostly unscathed.

Both of you were getting winded; These waves seemed to be endless. Folt was slowly advancing towards the child, you would occasionally hear a blast from his hand cannon clearing the way even for just a little bit.

"Just....a little more." Neathe panted as she stabbed another child.

A shame. I had hoped we would be able to use it to draw all the aggro so that we could lead the children on a merry chase (being faster than them) while Neathe could fire freely without worrying about defense.

In that case, we can't really do much apart from
>Keep unleashing maggots on your foes [Roll 3d100].

Well, unless we can somehow use our whip to pull ourselves up to the ceiling by latching onto one of the statues or something like that to change up the battlefield. But that's pretty unlikely, given that Strength is our lowest stat.

Apart from our questionable Strength score, there's also the fact that a baby will generally be a poorer weapon than our whip, especially when it's trying to claw and bite at us at the same time.

I've hardly been voting in favor of spending all our Quicksilver. If anything, I'd prefer a decent write-in. But hardly anything viable comes to mind, because of restrictions of stats or equipment.

But I'm fairly sure this IS the boss. It's just that we're drawing aggro from Rom's spiders, or Royal Rat Authority's rats, while Folt kills the actual boss.

Alas, you and Neathe managed to quell the last of the children, You fired another shot at one of the children who was about to attack Neathe from behind. She returned the favour later on

Aside from few scratches and a lacerating cut in your right leg, you were mostly alright. Neathe had some scratched over her legs...nothing too serious.

Gunheart Folt was fighting Yuothl by himself. he couldn't reach the child thanks to his chains which flailed around left and right. The statues above and below were moving with twisted gins and smiles. Some were tightening the chains harder on the child, others were spewing black blood on Yuothl. The rest were directing the chains towards Folt.

"I...I am not feeling well..." Neathe whispered, she was trying to regain her focus, you couldn't blame her though; you doubt she fully recovered after the fight with the scholar.

>Attempt to distract the flailing chains giving Folt a chance to shoot Yuothl [Roll 3d100]
Given our increased nimbleness from Donathan's outfit and our high Skill, this is probably the best option. We want to save our Quicksilver so we can fire in the event Folt needs immediate backup.

Or is there perhaps some way we can get up to the rafters?
>>
>>864291
I will assume that getting up to some rafter is a possibility thanks to the piles of furniture on both sides.
>>
>>864291
Do you think we've got what it takes to grab one of the chains and make it there?
>>
>>864294
I'll change my vote for our action to climbing up to the rafters and attacking the statues from up close, then. The closer range should afford us some protection from their chains, and even if we don't manage to destroy the statues, the threat we pose ought to attract most (or possibly all) of their attention away from Folt.

You gave Neathe a vial of Milkblood; this ought to soothe her a bit. She stood back firing at the statues from a safe distance.

Slowly, Gently, you made your way to a rafter above. The raging foe didn't notice you at first until you emptied your pistol at the status which kept flailing its chains at Folt.

A last swipe of these chains dropped you to the ground, the furniture below did cushion the fall but you have definitely broken a few ribs in this dreadful fall.

The last of your Quicksilver gave Folt the chance to finally blast most of the statues with two powerful handcanon shots.

: "W....why...whyyyyy... WHYYY RAWWWWORRRRORRORRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! YEEIEEEEEEIEEEERR " With no chains to contain the child, his skin and flesh boiled spewing hot steam around him. The child wailed as an abomination resembling a slug escaped his orifice as if it was shedding its skin.

This abomination was limited by the ceiling, It didn't have legs but it had an array of tendril in its forelegs, two monstrous rows of teeth and a set of tongues you have already seen before....

!!!! Frenzy is increasing !!!!

Folt didn't have a chance to react as it swiped him away, he crashed to a window. The force of the impact expelled him from the church.

Yuothl screeched in anger, its vestigial eyes were locked on you and Neathe. She was suffering less than from Frenzy

Your formidable foe had a bit of tease of your flesh while you were struggling at its maw. Guided by the two screeching heads, It released a third cloud of toxins.

!!! Poison is increasing !!!

You coughed greatly as these foul fumes made their way to your lungs and eyes. Your vision became watery for a couple of seconds. Another wave of thick black, rancid gas was released in the air obscuring the scene.

You could hear the sound of torn flesh, soon dozens of these hands possessed a worm-like body. They were slithering their way towards you. Every nail is as sharp as a blade.

This malicious tongue .... ; it could strike at any moment while you are busy with its pawns.

With nary a thought of feeding it, your Living whip growled in protest, it wasn't as civil as your Silver, In fact, it did bite you for your negligence....

Your shot missed its target in this critical moment. You found yourself inches close to its gaping maw. Then....

Darkness.

You were struggling in pure darkness in what you assumed to be its throat. It was hot and slimy with a rancid stench. You continued to resist your inevitable fate inside its gullet but your strength was waning; the lack of breathable air combined with the toxins from earlier were taking their toll on you.

You didn't have any quicksilver left, you doubted your blade can cut through these thick layers of fat and flesh.

Your fate was not a pleasant one.

YOU DIED

You were awoken back at the lamp, you could see your killer from afar satisfied with its latest meal.

You took this golden chance and burried your serrated nailfinger at its slimy, glowing skin. The two heads on its backed wailed in protest, urging the beast to shake you off.

However, you grip was solid and true, these shakings induced more larcerations for your foe. You slowly made it to the top next to the two heads who kept screeching periodically.

A wave of toxins seeped from the skin but your rune abosorbed all of toxins leaving you unscathed

With the two heads gone, the beast shook violently, you had to hop away lest you would be crushed under its roll.

Your bloated foe has completely lost its sense of direction, it ran amok left and right slamming against the walls at times, tripping from his uncoordinated steps. it would unleash its tongue in random direction in an attempt to gulp you once more.

You delivered one final blow to your killer, it collapsed on the ground with an audible thud, the ground below your feet was shaken by the impact.

PREY SLAUGHTERED
6000 (1000 from Sampler's blade) blood echoes gained
The death of this abomination troubled your mind.

+3 Insight gained

False Bloated Clot

A flase blood Clot which belonged to Wemriv, the bloated, consume it to gain blood echoes....or perhaps....
Wemriv was yet another failure fashioned in the Bloodwards but unlike others before him, he was born here. As a test subject, he was perfect, he didn't object or harm the scholars churing his body and soul in pain. He had none outside of these cold walls. Even after most of his intellect was gone in an attempt to reach kinhood. He followed the commands of the scholars, his last task was to protect the bloodward from any intruders. He did so till his last breath....

If only he would realize that his masters were long dead...

Tainted Scholar's Outfit

A soaked and drenched robe which belonged to one of the scholars. It was soaked in toxins and acids for probably decades and yet it did not deteriorate. Provides excellent Poison resistance but it will heavily slow down its wearer making swift movements an almost impossibility

We will end it for now. I hope you are glad with what little progress we made.

Thank you for you participation.
