Just making the circuits smaller won't be enough since there's all sorts of other considerations, such as how much mana can be channeled through those smaller circuits without overloading or melting through the material.

In fact, dwarves probably have done studies on etching and miniaturization of runes already since they value craftsmanship.

If the micro-runic circuits can't handle the mana load, then the entire thing would just blow up.

Mako's midnight-black hair sways softly on the sea breeze as she leans over to look at the book on our lap. Why? We are helping her study magical formations during the ship trip.

We are sitting outside on the rear deck of the Empire's flagship, having some tea and practicing some magic formation writing.

Well, even if we call it sea breeze, we ARE fairly high over the sea, so its more of a breeze-that-happens-tp-be-pver-the-sea, I guess?

Mako is actually better with magic when it involves living beings, by the way.

She is pretty good at healing, and scary good at disrupting living energy, just so you know.

Is not that she's no good when it comes to magic circuitry, its just that it doesn't comes to her as naturally as interacting with living beings does.

Due to the tme difference, it is already late in the evening at home, but here its still sunny, albeit the sun is hanging low over the horizon.

She smells really nice, so we can't help but lean in towards her...

"Ah! I'm sorry!" -she says after hitting our nose with the back of her head when she rose up
"No, it really was Eldric's fault." -says Lyann as she sighs a little bit

...waut, wouldn't it let you enchant something with energy? It seems rather happy-go-lucky, though. Like it would just enhance or heal whats already there....

We place a perfectly ordinary silver fork on the middle of the circle, and try feeding energy into the formation... the fork shines for a bit, and then just turns black.

Wait, can silver rust?

Well, that's not really useful, is it? I guess maybe if we wanted to use it as a landmine of sorts that targets only gear, maybe?

"Oh, so it was a failure..." -Mako sighs softly
"Well its a bit early to tell."

Wait, going back to our old knowledge, silver doesn't just rust as easily as iron does. Rather, it needs a sulphuric element to rust, and even then its just the surface, right?

Does Mako's circle formation profuce sulphur? It would, by itself, be rather valuable if it could do so, you know?

Turning energy into matter, of any type, its obviously valuable. We have the food dispensers already, which we use to produce edible materials... but sulphur is a different matter.

We can't produce, for example, iron, silver, sulphur, or any other inorganic materials... if we could, we would crash a lot of markets.

Normally, we would have thought it was silly, but in this RPG-like world, monsters actually "drop" items when they die, right?

How does that happen? We had always thought of it as natural, but is it?

Shouldn't there be a process, a scientific method to reproduce the process?

Well, after some tests...

The apple whitered and rotted
A plant pot... grew for a bit then died
A seed, opened, then died.

"I wonder if this is what sulphur-apple looks like?"

So, its not creating sulphur, but some sort of 'haste' buff?

No, not really a buff... things rust and age, so its more like really fast forwarding time.

It works on a very small area, though. The parts of the plant that were near its top look slightly yellowish, while the ones closer to the pot (and the circle under it) looks completely withered.

I wonder if we can use this somehow...

We need to capture a Lapsionian Honey Faery first.
We need to check if there are actual differences, such as if the two strains are different races, or if it's only a product of them needing to quickly get higher level in order to survive, and greater aggressiveness is only a cultural rather than genetic trait.

Before we go ahead to test our assumptions of genetic inheritance and if certain behaviors are genetic, we should make sure there are even differences at all between Albion and Lapsionian Honey Fairies.

Can those be hybridized, or does the system consider them as different races?
Like how Tanis and Atruma are both dragons, but apparently they're different types. An offspring of those two would be either an Earth Dragon or a Deep Dragon? Are they different races like elves and humans, or different Breeds?

What the flying fuck... I won 7 our of 10 placement matches in LOL, yet I ended in the lowest possible division, while people who only won 5/10 ended 25 divisions over me... I demand an explanation for this bullshit... man and it was so hard to carry those people to victory, kicking and screaming as i forced them to win... yes, forced them to win, because after my early game dominance giving our team a lot of advantage, they typically went "but i wanna own them some more" and such... goddamnit why cant people understand that early game dominance-type characters are shit in late game? I basically had to win alone most of those games... Now if I want to climb up a division I need to win 8 games per division... 40 games to get out of the lowest one, then 40 more, to get to gold division, then 40 more, then 40 more, then 40 more... assuming they are ALL wins in a row... my motivation is crushed, crushed!

She pushes the brown-colored wolf girl down with a hand while tickling her with the other. Well, Stella knows that normal girls are pretty delicate, so all she can do is squirm softly as she tries to escape

"Waaah! What did I do!?" -she laugh/cries out as she squirms under Adrianna

The following morning, Stella is the first to get up.

She's actually a hard worker in many ways, you know? She got up way before dawn, dressed up, and went to meet grandpa at the dungeon for some grinding before going back to the school dorms before the supervisor got up, then went to the shower room and happily washed herself before most of the girls in the dorm were even beginning to wake up.

Once she got the blood and grime of the poor unfortunate mobs she just grinded into exp and loot out of the way, she went back to her room, changed into her sports uniform, and went out to jog with the rest of her classmates.

"Miss Crownguard, you are late again." - admonishes the dorm supervisor

Well, even though our family adopted her, she kept the surname her parents gave her. Honestly, its probably convenient so she doesn't draws too much attention at school.

"I'm sorry!" -she earnestly apologizes and joins her classmates

Afterwards, she has a second shower together with everyone else in the shower room, and gets dressed up in her uniform before heading to the classrooms.

The day goes by pretty calmly. She has the most trouble with history (of the region) and fencing.

Why fencing, you ask?
Because she has to hold back a lot.

She's aware of normal girls being quite delicate, you know? Since she's so worried about hurting her cute classmates, she ends up as a sandbag most of the time... not that they could really hurt her, anyway.

Well, even if Eopolis prides itself in being a multicultural, multi-racial city, it may have too many different races living together, so other than humans (halflings to goliaths), most other races are definitive minorities.

Actually, we had a human mom and an elf mom, so there was a noticeable lack of beastkin female know-how at home...

So, they had such a thing. Well, of course, without it, their tails tend to lift the back of their skirts. We always thought it was rather adorable, to be honest.

"Ah! it's super comfortable!" -says Stella while wagging her tail and twisting a little to turn around and look at it
"Right, right. You came in wearing a school uniform, right? For a small fee, I can adjust it with a tail hole for you."

She buys some clothes for herself, and some to take back to Zoe as a gift. Thankfully they have more or less the same body shape and sizes.

Zoe is a little sensitive about losing in the chest category, though, but Stella may just be an unfair comparison to begin with...

Wearing her newly fixed uniform, and with her packages safely in her [Item Box], Stella, Leche and Adrianna head back towards the academy.

The typical event where the girls wasted too much time window shopping... didnt happen.

They made it back right on time, and met with Alard as he was coming out of his classroom.

"Ah, here, here!" -Stella rises to her tiptoes as she waves towards Alan
"I see you, calm down."

He approaches and pats pats Stella's head while the wolfkin girl wags her tail and smiles brilliantly.

"Cousin Alard, these are Leche and Adrianna! They're my friends! We sleep together!"
"Ah, so they're your roomates."
"Yes!"

The event where he misunderstand Stella's words and everyone has an awkward moment... didn't happen.

Well, it will revive within 5 rounds unless the rest of its group is wiped as well, but its still impressive enough that Leche and Adrianna are both speechless.

"Alright, just take down the [Growned Ghoul] now!" -Alard moves towards the last monster and attacks it, causing a crippling, debuff-inducing blow to it.

Well, for them, it is quite natural, so noone really wonders how does a undead feel crippling pain. They just know it works

With its speed and attack hamstrung, Erion walks over and hits it twice with his longsword.

As expected of a goliath, his 'longsword' would easily pass as a baseline human's two-handed sword, you know?

If he was to use a goliath-sized greatsword, it would give this world an Exalted-like feeling... *cough*daiklave*cough*
