We are Sirena Le Doux and we seek revenge against our former master. So far, we've grown more powerful, but there is much more to learn. With our list of allies and teachers slowly growing, and after a particularly troublesome encounter with a perverted archmage, Sirena is rather weary but far from about to give up.

Having left the tower of Archmage Francis, we find ourselves in camp with our disciple and puppet, Merriam, as we decide what to do next...

Our story continues!

Not far from the tower of Archmage Francis, whom you now know to be both exactly what he appears to be and also much, much more, you take a brief break from horseriding and take stock of your inventory.

In addition to your supplies, you secured five things from his tower: a ruby necklace, a wand, a jar of truth serum, and a bottle of oily lubricant (Mk. III). And, of course, you still have possession of your coin, though the nature of its magic (if indeed it is magical at all) eludes you.

While some of these items may be magical in nature, all of them pay in comparison to the Codex Arcana, which you have recently seen the power of. You even glimped inside of it, which greatly impressed Francis -- considering most who do turn mad!

But you feel fine. Better than fine, in fact! Your misadventure at the tower, as strange as it may have been, resulted in you gaining new spells and an enchantment of permanent youth up until the moment of your death by natural causes. While not true immortality, it's certainly a start.

Merriam is nearby, petting the horse's head and keeping him calm. She's good with animals -- must come from being on the farm most of her life. She looks over at you and asks, "Mary? Something on your mind?"

Truth be told, there is. Your talk with Francis, and your experience with the Codex Arcana has raised strange emotions within you. Not only is he aware of who you truly are, but your brief brush with the writing of the gods could have had all sorts of strange side-effects upon you. Strangely, you feel a vulnerability you haven't felt since you first ran away. Everything since then has been in the interest of protecting yourself and building up power to take revenge, but you were almost completely helpless in that situation if you look at it in a certain way. Francis was playing you, and now he knows your secret.

You find yourself worried about what comes next, and this causes you to think of what to do next.

You push aside the conflicting and confusing thoughts that were raised by your visit to Francis' tower, and instead focus on the more physical aspects of the trip: the things Merriam managed to loot while you were distracting him.

Walking up to where she has the items laid out on the blanket, you look at the lubricant, the truth serum, the wand and finally the necklace. You lift it up and see how, despite its seemingly ordinary nature, the ruby sparkles unnaturally and beautifully, almost like it has some light trapped inside of it that it occasionally lets mortal eyes glimpse.

There's some magic in it, you're sure of it. But how to draw it out and use it? You also notice Merriam staring at it, similarly transfixed by its beauty. You wonder if it's the most expensive piece of jewelry the farm girl has ever seen.

Fine. If we're going to reveal that we're the crown's public enemy number one, then we should at least assert to Merriam that whether or not she's guilty, she will guarantee the future of the Cutter homestead before anything else. Make sure to get across that Sirena is on Merriam's side.

Though it tempts curiosity, you decide to put it away.

"You're not going to wear it?" Merriam asks. "...May I, then?"

"I don't quite trust anything we took out of that pervert's tower until I know exactly what it is," you tell her.

She casts her eyes downwards. "Oh, I see. Alright then."

Next, you look over at the wand, ornate in its silvery craftsmanship, but similarly unknown in purpose. You pick it up and give it an experimental swish and a flick.

Looking at a tree, you point the wand at it and cast a spell, a simple arcane bolt. However, you find that what comes out is not an arcane bolt, but rather a concentrated spray of green liquid! The liquid hits the tree and bleeds off, to no apparent effect.

"Strange..." you mutter as a few drops fall off the tip of the wand and onto the backpack below. You notice that where it falls upon the fabric, it immediately starts dissolving it and leaves a tiny hole.

You kneel down and inspect it. The green liquid is, thankfully, harmless to the touch of your skin. You take out one part of the blanket and wipe the wand clean on a corner of it, whereupon you confirm that it dissolves the fabric that it touches.

'Harmless upon a tree, harmless to skin, but dissolves fabric nearly instantly...'

You almost slap yourself in the face when you realize EXACTLY why someone like Francis may have wanted to create this wand.

'I'm not even surprised.'

With a smile, you slide the wand into an easy-to-reach place, ready to grab whenever you need it. Who knows, perhaps it could dissolve rope as well? That would've gotten you out of that nasty barbarian situation, perhaps.

The final two items are the "Oil of Lubrication Mk. III" and the truth serum. You hold up both and think that they seem fairly self-explanatory, and so you put them away for later use.

Standing up, you look over at Merriam, who finishes with the horse and walks over. "So, what's next?" she asks. "Are we going to learn more magic?"

"Perhaps," you reply, scratching your chin. "But with my new powers, I may also be able to solve this Digger mystery and secure the well for your family."

She lights up upon hearing that. "I was hoping you would suggest that," she says, clasping her hands together. "I can't tell you how happy that would make me, Mary!"

'Mary...' Your eyes drift away as you think about this disguise you have worn for so many days. Your cosmetic spell is, of course, flawless -- to the point where you had almost forgotten being called by your own name.

That's what perhaps chilled you the most when Francis used it. You shake your head and try to brush aside your worries, but they don't quite leave you.

"Mary?" she says, and the name seems foreign to you again. "Is something the matter?"

>"No, nothing, let's go."

You shake your head. "No, nothing. Let's go."

Approaching the horse and climbing atop it, Merriam wordlessly follows and slides onto the saddle behind you, wrapping her hands around your waist.

"Are you certain nothing is bothering you? Ever since we left that tower and that creepy mage you've seemed distracted."

"I'll tell you after we settle this family matter," you promise her.

She smiles and rests her head on your shoulder. "Are we going there now?"

"I am not certain," you reply honestly. "We could, but we could always learn more..."

"I am worried that if we wait too long, the Diggers will only more firmly take control of the well and their family will only become stronger. Their deal with the mayor, whatever it is, will only get stronger, too."

You pause as you hold onto the reigns. She does raise a point...

I think we should expand upon this to tie into our original story tho.
>I was a simple farm girl from a northern village who was scouted for magic potential by the court mage.

"I think we will. And we'll see about visiting your family as well." Merriam squeezes you tightly in a hug as thanks as you and she ride off.

Riding northeast towards the Cutter Farm, you come across a small valley. The impassable terrain forces you southwards, but unfortunately that is where you come upon a heavily-armed man in armor and loaded with weapons. Not only that, but he is not alone -- others like him are nearby, hiding behind trees. Not very well, but the threat is clear.

"Hold!" he calls out. You bring your horse to a stop and curse under your breath; what now?

'A raider? A barbarian, perhaps?'

The man stops some distance away and takes out a piece of paper, unravelling it. "I seek the treasonous witch Sirena! The vile sorceress fled into these woods."

Your heart quickens as you hear this. 'Bounty hunters!' you realize. 'Looking for me!'

He steps closer, clearly scrutinizing you both with suspicious eyes. "It is not hard to conjure up a disguise. You," he points directly at you, "speak quickly and prove you are not the witch in hiding!"

"I am offended, sir," you say to him. "I am but a local woman of the forest!"

"And I am Merriam Cutter!" Merriem says. "My family lives not far from here! This is my friend, Mary, and I don't rightly appreciate my friend being accused of being something she isn't!"

The man doesn't seem convinced, but then one of his associates speaks up. "Cutter? I've seen them around! They bring the logs to log town."

The leader bounty hunter pauses, then looks back up at you both. "Very well, you may pass. I apologize for keeping you, ladies."

You nod at him, barely able to hold back a smile. "Good day to you, sir." You ride past, gleefully grinning once you are clear.

"I hope they find that terrible witch," Merriam says. "With our luck, we might just run into her before they do!"

Riding northeast for most of the day, you go south of the Cutter farm and find a shallow river crossing. As the sun dips just above the horizon, painting the sky orange and red, you look upon the clearing that contains the magical well.

"So, that's it?" you ask Merriam as you both peer at it from atop a hill, laying on your stomachs. "There's nothing much special about it on the outside, is there?"

"Not quite," she confirms. Indeed, it looks quite normal and mundane on the outside. In fact, were it not for the presence of two of the mayor's guard standing watch over it, one would think it completely and utterly ignorable.

But as it does have two attentive guards posted around it, wearing heavy armor and carrying spears and shields with swords belted at their hips, you certainly cannot deny that there is something special about this well.

"You said it cures disease?"

"And helps crops grow twice as fast," Merriam explains. "Or flowers in your garden, or... Look!"

She hushes up as three young men walk into the clearing from the east. Their hair is dark black, and their skin is rather dirty with coal residue and dirt.

"Diggers," Merriam says, though you could have guessed. "Marcus, Kyle and Samson."

The third one in line, the one Merriam fancied -- or perhaps still fancies -- is the shortest of the bunch, but is still as well-built as his cousins. Nothing special.

They appear to be talking to the guards about something.

Keeping low, you observe something else happen; the trio are not alone. Near where they entered the clearing, a young woman can be seen, walking up. She is very plainly dressed in simple villager clothing. Merriam tilts her head in recognition. "I think I know that girl. She's from Bridge Town. What is she doing here?"

The younger Digger brother, Kyle, sees this and breaks away from the conversation with the guards to go talk to the girl. He puts a hand on her arm, keeping her from coming any closer as he speaks to her. Unfortunately, you are too far away from either conversation to hear.

Eventually the other two finish speaking to the guards and they, along with the girl, leave, heading eastward.

"Come on," you whisper to Merriam, and you both slip back down the hill and towards the horse, get on it and ride around, following the progress of the Diggers. It's only when you hear the sound of a scream in the night that you know exactly where to go.

You dismount from the horse and sneak ahead with Merriam close behind. You can hear a struggle happening, along with a hushed, desperate voice.

"We shouldn't be doing this!" you hear someone say.

"Can it, Samson -- ain't nothing wrong with having some fun before we get her to where she's going."

"We did it with all the others," another voice adds.

"That's them!" Merriam whispers. "The Diggers!"

Now, from behind a tree, you catch a glimpse of them. The two brothers, Marcus and Kyle, have the girl on the ground with her face in the dirt, on all fours with her rear end pointed up. One of them takes out a knife and starts cutting her dress.

Samson, off to the side, protests. "You didn't say this was a part of it!"

"It isn't, really, just a... What'd you call it, Kyle?"

"Fringe benefit," he smiles as he holds the girl's mouth shut.

"I'm not having any part in this," Samson says, turning around and stomping off. Kyle moves to go after him, but his brother holds him back. "Let him go. Who's he gonna tell, and who's gonna care?" They both smile, and resume their business of getting ready.

"Mary... We have to do something!" Merriam pleads. "We can't just... just leave her like this!"

You look back at Merriam and tell her to remain hidden. You open your shirt and slip out of your dress with ease as she looks on, questioning what the hell you are doing. 'This worked on Francis, initially. So, assuming these two aren't archmages...' Stepping out into the open, you then remove your cosmetic spell to allow yourself to appear as beautiful as you truly are and whistle sharply.

They both look up from their captive, and then their jaws drop when they see your body. You hold up a finger and beckon them. "Boys, boys, boys... why play with her, when you can play with me?"

There is some initial hesitation as they question the sudden appearance of this beautiful and busty woman, until you sway your hips and shake your chest. Like the fools they are, they drop her and approach you with their pants around their ankles, ready for a new round of fun. The girl in the background is too shaken to get up right away, and so simply remains curled up and crying.

As they approach, you hold up both hands. With a word of command, you create a kinetic pulse that knocks them both backwards with your spell of Forceful Push! Caught completely unawares, they fly backwards, hitting the ground hard and sliding through leaves and bushes.

As one of them tries to get back up, you lower one hand and then cast Arcane Bolt, which flies unerringly at his head. It blasts him in the face, and with no armor or magical protection, takes away half of the skin on the right side of his head along with one of his eyes, most of his hair and his ear, too. He is left screaming in pain.

The other brother's eyes go wide. "It's the witch! The witch!" He gets up and tries to run, but trips due to his pants. He struggles to get them all the way off and escape, apparently having left his brother to his fate.

With your hand held up high, you blast the other brother in the back, right in the spine. He goes down in the dirt, screaming, but alive.

'What a thrill,' you think to yourself, curling your hand into a fist. 'The power, the absolute power I have over these pathetic country bumpkins... I should have done this a LONG time ago!'

Merriam runs out and helps the woman, taking her off to one side. You make sure she doesn't see your true face as she does this, but you do redress. After doing so and reapplying your cosmetic spell, you grab the one you shot in the spine and drag him over to his brother.

You place your hands on your hips and smile down at them. Both injured, too hurt to walk, but still alive and able to speak.

"Talk," you command. "What were you going to do with that girl?"

"F-fuck you, witch!" the one you hit the spine -- Kyle, you believe -- spits out. "Burn in hell!"

"That's not polite," you say, shaking your head. "What to do, what to do..."

You put your foot on the older brother's chest and hold up a hand. He's bleeding, alright, and so you begin to drain his life. He screams in pain as he feels an unknown pain wracking through him.

"You can stop this, you know," you tell the other brother. "Speak!"

He looks at his brother's pain for several moments, perhaps out of fear for his own life, before he finally caves. "ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! I'll talk!"

You smile and stop the spell. The older brother gasps, still some life left in him, as Kyle speaks up.

"We... were just doing what we were told!"

"You were told to kidnap local girls and rape them?"

"N-not that part..." he says. "We just did that for fun."

"My, my, what fun indeed," you reply, holding up your hand and charging it with arcane energy, preparing to unleash another bolt.

"WAIT! It's part of a deal!" Kyle gasps.

"No..." Marcus says weakly. "Don't... Don't talk..."

You lift up your foot and stomp on his chest. "Quiet, you. You, talk! Now.

Kyle closes his eyes and cries. "We were just doing what we were told. Pa made a deal for the mines with someone up north."

With just a bit more life drain, Marcus is out cold, but still alive. You look at his brother. "He's alive, but for how long depends on you." You lean down and command him, "Now tell me everything!"

"Alright... Alright! We don't know who he is. Only Pa knows that. But he wants girls... so we got 'im girls! We take them out to a place and he comes and gets them... and that's all I know!"

"What is he?"

"I don't know! He's just a man!"

"So you take the girls to this place. Where is it?"

"Cross Lake... Cross Lake! The tavern!"

You hesitate for a moment. 'Wait a moment... Cross Lake Tavern... Albert's brother, what was his name? Vincent?'

Suddenly you hear a rustling of leaves to your right. You turn your head and are suddenly tackled! Samson flies out of the bushes. He may be a bit on the short side, but his center of gravity is more than enough to send you and he tumbling off of the pair and into the grass.

You struggle with him for a moment, but he is physically your superior. He is about to overpower you completely when suddenly Merriam is on him, pulling him back! "Samson, stop! It's me, Merriam!"

As soon as Merriam pulls him off, you get up and walk back. Sure enough, Kyle is crawling away, trying to escape and leaving his brother behind.

"Oh, there's no bond like the bond of a family," you whisper in his ear when you straddle his back and hold a hand up to his face. "You've seen what it does. TALK!"

"Don't hurt them, please," Samson shouts as Merriam stands in front of him. "They're my family!"

"I'm very certain you're the only one who cares," you reply. You decide to prove your point. "You. Kyle. If you tell me to kill Samson right now, I will let you go."

His eyes go wide. "Kill him! He's not even a real Digger! He's just my cousin!"

Samson is at a loss for words. You smile and thank the man, then push his face into the dirt for a moment. You look back at the cousin. "So, why are you here?"

"I... Came to see them. Maybe stop them. I don't know. Then I saw you, and I..."

"Right, you made a judgment call, not surprising." 'Especially given how stupid you locals tend to be, and your family haven't exactly set a very high standard.' You look down at Kyle and lift his head up. "Tell me about Vincent. Why does he want the girls?"

"I don't know! It's part of our deal and he supplies the labor!"

You smile. Now you're getting somewhere. "What labor?"

"G-goblins! The lake goblins! We put them to work in the mines, f-for scraps!"

"So you don't pay them," you surmise. "Slave labor. No wonder your profits have gone up." You turn your head to one side. 'Huh. Goblins. And here I was thinking it would be undead. But if Vincent is the one supplying the goblins, in exchange for girls, and if he is a thrallherd... It isn't hard to wonder how he gets those goblins in the first place.'

"What do you say, Samson? Merriam? Death, or life?"

Merriam is shocked. "What? Samson, why?"

"Merriam, they were going to rape that girl. They raped others! And Kyle just condemned me!" He shakes his head and spits on the ground. "I hate what the family's become. I think we should just wipe the whole damn slate clean."

You stand up and turn around as Kyle pleads in the dirt. "That's surprisingly harsh," you reply. 'I like it.'

Merriam bites a finger as he approaches you. He looks you up and down, clearly impressed by what he sees. "I don't know who you are, but you're some kind of witch, right?"

"I prefer the term sorceress."

"Whatever you call them. Look, maybe you can help me. I've been wanting to try and stop this for a while now. I hate what the family is doing, kidnapping girls for goblin slaves. We work those things to death in the mines and replace them with new ones, and for what? Gold. It's not damn right."

"Help you with what, exactly?"

"Taking over the Digger farm."

You approach Merriam and ask her to fetch the hatchet from the horse. After a moment, she does so, returning with the tool but not sticking around to watch. He takes the hatchet from your hand.

"I know, but... But what are we going to do about the children? I... I don't know if I can be there for this, Mary. I know it's going to help my family, and it's right to stop them, but..."

I don't have a problem with telling Merriam at some point.
But that's a big reward to pass up for a guy trying to start-up a farm.
>>
I think telling Ben, Samson and Merriam who we really are in a private meeting might be a good idea soon.

Maybe not Samson, but we did just watch him fucking murder his cousins so I think we're pretty good on the keeping each other's secrets table with him.

Merriam needs to know first at least, so that she can help persuade the guys that we're truly the good guy.
And somehow make sure that they don't go blabbing about the good witch of the forest or persecuted underdog or some crap.

You lean forward and give her a supportive hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry. You don't have to come to this. I know it may seem harsh, but with all the terrible things the Diggers have been up to that we now know of, this is for the best."

"You... You're right." She sighs. "But those children... They have such a sweet little girl, Mary! And a little baby boy!"

You nod. "I'll make sure that Samson handles them. Sends them away into town... Something. For tonight, however, let's get you home."

"We're going home?" she asks, surprised, her spirit lifted.

"One thing at a time," you say, heading back towards Samson. You round a tree and see him hacking away at Kyle. You have to admit, his handiwork is nice to watch. You approach him from behind and get his attention. "What about the kids?"

"I said I'll handle it," he replies.

"I'll take your word on it," you tell him, then head back to the horse. You climb atop it with Merriam and begin riding west. Along the way, you explain the plan; you'll take Ben, and she'll remain behind with her family. "If all goes well and we secure your family's protection, then both of you can come with me," you say to her.

"You really think so?"

"Think about it. With the Diggers out of the way, and if we expose the mayor, and get the well for your family, AND have the mine working for us instead of against us, your family will be set. The extra money you'll get can go to hiring help, and I'm sure Uncle Jed and Jonah could handle the work without Ben." You turn and wink at her. "Then it would be the three of us. You'd like that, wouldn't you?"

"Oh, I would!" she replies with a smile. "I can see it now... the three of us, going on adventures, me learning magic and Ben learning how to fight like a champion! We could be heroes!"

'Precisely,' you think to yourself. 'And who better than to slay the evil wizard Mordrax than a group of heroes?'

You reach the lumber mill. It is late, and everyone has gone to bed.

You send Merriam up and ask her to go get Ben. She approaches his window and whispers his name.

A moment later, he appears in it, looking out at you both. "Merriam! Mary!" He hops out of the window right from his bed, shirtless and in his loose night pants. He hugs Merriam, then gives you a hug as well, enveloping you in his strong arms. "What are you doing here?"

After a brief explanation of why you are back without going into detail, you send Merriam back inside to go to bed. You lead Ben off to the side of the house to talk to him about the Digger situation. Before you can, however, he suddenly puts his hands on his hips and kisses you, hard. Your eyes go wide as he does this, boldly taking the first step. As nice as his strong arms, and surprisingly soft lips, and firm grip feel, you put a hand on his chest and push him back. "Not yet," you tell him with a smile.

"I'm sorry, I just have been thinking so much about you," he says. "Every day, at practice, at work, I've been distracted."

"And as much as I love that you've been thinking about me... I'm going to need you to be on top of your game tomorrow night." You then explain the full situation to him... Perhaps with a few more details. As it unravels, you see his expression change. Goblins? Girls raped and given to some fiend? Possible undead involved? You see the burgeoning hero within him start to reveal itself.

"So, will you help me?"

"Of course I will," he says without the barest hint of a doubt. "We'll topple their slave labor, expose that good-for-nothing mayor for his involvement in this, and secure the well for my family."

"And you'll be a hero," you whisper in his ear. "...I like heroes."

You feel his valiant heart pounding in his chest as he repeats, "I'll be a hero..."

Turning his head, you look into his eyes. "Not to mention there will be other rewards for a hero..."

This time, you're the one who initiates the kiss, but he responds almost immediately. He is eager to please, holding you tightly and making you feel small in his arms as he tilts his head and thrusts his tongue into your mouth. For a moment your breath is stolen away as your back hits the wall of the mill while his hands roam all over your sides, coming to rest on your hips.

'How strange... he kisses like his sister, but more boldly...'

As your arms encircle his neck, your fingers buried in his thick sandy-blonde hair, you feel something strain against the inside of his pants. Your eyes go wide as his hips bump into yours.

'Mmmm... They grow them big out here in the country...'

Despite this, however, you maintain control and don't lose yourself to the moment. You break the kiss and push him back slightly, staring into his eyes. "Easy there, Ben. What did I say? You're too... excited."

"Yeah," he says breathlessly. "I should, uh, I should get to bed," he says, turning away. As he approaches his home, he looks back. "I'm ready to be your hero tomorrow," he smiles, and then heads inside.

'Bless him and his useful stupidity,' you think to yourself with a dreamy smile. 'I can't wait to make the most of him.'

You then go inside and slip into Merriam's bed. She looks over at you and asks, "Is he on board for tomorrow?"

"Of course," you slyly reply. "I wasn't hard to convince him." A thought then crosses your mind, and you satisfy a sudden curiosity by kissing her. She is surprised, but quickly gives in, softly moaning into your mouth. 'I was right! They even taste similar.'

>Sleep...

The next day, after a stern talking to by Merriam's mother about whisking her daughter away and getting kicked out of their home by Uncle Jed (and really, who can blame them? They'll be singing a different tune after you hand them the well anyway) you then think about how you're going to spend your day before meeting up with Ben tonight to take on the Digger family and their mine.

Undead knight killed Ben's dad. Controlling it probably isn't a good idea. It will plant a seed of suspicion even though we do have a reasonable explanation.

>>

until he travels with us and finds out that we're a necromancer.

Not saying that it's a bad plan.
But it might polarize him even further that undead=evil=kill it with fire

Maybe if Ben charges into the Digger farm only to see the Knight already fighting them, it would confuse his justice sensor enough that we could give him the spiel about learning necromancy to prevent further tragedies and then we were attacked by him again on the way back to the farm and decided to use him to fight the Diggers.
Then deliver the final message that zombies are just puppets to their creator and the creator of the Knight was likely the evil Mordrax, who btw is the same guy who framed us for his crimes.

Nice logic.
>>
>>935446
I'm thinking something like this:
>When I was a little girl, the dead were attracted to me. It was probably something to do with my innate magical ability. I’d see spirits in my bedroom, zombies in the graveyard, it was so terrifying! I just wished that I could tell them to go away. Then a horde of undead attacked my village when I ran away and found you. Then that zombie killed your dad right in front of us. At that point I finally decided that I couldn’t keep running away from them anymore. I decided that I would learn how to tell them to go away. And more than that, to turn them against the evil wizards who created them. So after I left your farm, I studied necromancy and learned how these things work, so now I can stop them and use them against the bad people who rely on them for their dark bidding.

I'm thinking we can either do this,
OR go ahead with this plan >>935128
Then edit the speech to the future tense and use it after the true identity speech to explain that we're going to the chapel to learn more necro for a week before going on to the alchemist and thrallherd.
>>
>>935537
I don't think we need more necromancy right now. It's already our biggest school of magic and has a healthy number of spells in it already. We need to branch out.
>>
>>935545
We need that Enfeeblement debuff and Choking Dust AoE so we can hurt people without them screaming bloody murder.
Also cover the basics of spirit summoning, get better control of skelly and do some basic anatomy and resurrection so we can reverse engineer healing magic maybe.

After that we can check necro off the list and move on with our life to focus on thralldom, illusion and transmutation.

Need to learn about healing magic.

Travelling southward, you find the area where you first encountered the undead knight and set Ben upon the path to becoming a hero -- and your pawn. You remember well that moment, and the direction the undead fled to. With the horse, you have the mobility to effectively search the area much more quickly, and so it only takes an hour before you find him. The undead followed your instructions and fled right up until your orders effectively "wore out" from his memory, and so you come upon him in a clearing where he stands still and alone.

He turns and looks at you, and his undead eyes hold no recognition. He begins to approach as though to attack, until you hold up a hand and issue the words of command. He stops and lowers his sword arm, now completely subservient to you.

"You're going to help me," you tell him, putting a hand on his armored shoulder. "But how to use you..."

Casting your spell of speaking to the undead, you then ask him, "Who were you, in life?"

"Hedge knight," is all the answer you receive.

"And how were you killed?"

"Great battle."

"And who resurrected you?"

"I know not."

"Why were you in the road when we came upon you?"

"I know not."

You smile to yourself as you think about the possibilities this undead knight offers. While his origin still remains a mystery -- undead knights don't tend to spring out of nowhere -- all you care about right now is what he represents to your plans, and to Ben. He wants revenge, just like you do, but he is noble, true of heart, young and adventurous -- qualities that are ripe for exploitation. Much like how you have turned his sister into an almost willing thrall, you will wrap him around your finger like a golden ring.

But first, you must plan. It won't do to have this undead knight accompanying you alone in the forest -- after all, you're already wanted! Bounty hunters are on the prowl. You mustn't get too ahead of yourself and forget this. For all the power you have obtained, for all the schemes and plots, you can still die when some lucky hunter or warrior eager for a ten-thousand gold reward buries an axe in your head.

Remember, Sirena: you are still mortal, and still very exposed and vulnerable. That's where surrounding yourself with allies, like Ben, will come in handy. Not only will they help you remain hidden once they are fully in your thrall, but they will also serve to assist you in your magical endeavors, protection from harm and... other, more base urges. You shiver slightly as you think about how eager Ben has become, how thirsty he is for you. Eager to please and ready to worship the ground you walk on.

Yes... you like that, you like that very much.

But back to the matter at hand. A simple illusion spell from your small pool of them allows you to turn the undead knight into one of the local guards from Bridge Town. That should waver any suspicion on your part if you are seen travelling with him. From here, you then guide the undead knight towards Digger Farm.

By the afternoon, you are staring at the Digger Farm for the first time. It is a simple place with a few buildings and gardens, along with a barn. The mine must be nearby, but you aren't certain where. Things are quiet, for now.

You leave the undead knight in a hidden position that you can easily return to and put him into action. You leave him with a few simple instructions; to come when you call for him and to attack Ben, the boy the knight has seen before. With your advanced form of command undead and your speak to undead spell, you can exert a much greater deal of influence and control over the knight.

"Give him a fight," you tell him, "but do not kill. Make him work for it."

The undead understands, even though it does not reply. Such simple conversationalists, these brain-dead corpses. Turning back to the farm, you wonder what to do next.

Next, you head west, across the river at another shallow crossing. You approach the old town you first stumbled upon after running away and immediately proceed to Elder Grey's home, finding her sitting and munching on a piece of stale bread. Boris sits nearby, with several undead cats curled up around him, one of which is on his head and another in his lap. As you enter, they both look up at you; Elder Grey sniffs the air.

"Ah," she says, giving you a toothless smile. "I was wondering when you would return."

"I see you are still here," you say to her as you sit down.

"There have been whispers about you," she says, which surprises you. "Things carried on the wind by faraway voices."

You cannot help but feel she is simply mad, but you humor her. "Oh? What have you heard?"

"You are sought," she whispers.

"Yes, by bounty hunters."

"No!" Elder Grey says, pointing a bony finger at you. "Not anything so simple! My sisters."

"Your... sisters?"

"Ones like me," she says with a grin. "I left to be alone from them, but they exist yet. They have heard of you and now seek you."

"And what do they want with me?"

"What they want with all the young women with talent in magic they ensnare; to join their coven."

"No offense, Elder Grey, but I'm not interested in joining a coven of hags. I've heard of what happens to those who do, and I rather like my independence."

"So do I," she replies. "That's why I left! But they still speak. Old women, women closer to the earth than you. They are looking for you, and they will try to take you willingly or otherwise."

"Do they think they stand a chance?"

"They have been around much longer than you, child. They are powerful in old ways. I prefer my lovelies and the company of corpses like this wonderful specimen you left here, but they deal in... darker things."

Now your interest is piqued. "Go on..."

"They speak with foul things from other worlds. Eyes that look upon our waking realm with infernal designs and plots."

"Demons and devils," you say, understanding what she means. "But what do I have to do with any of that? Are they just low on their recruitment quota?"

"You seek vengeance," Elder Grey says.

You remain calm and state, "Nonsense. I've said nothing of the sort."

"You never had to. They can smell it. You are ripe with it, my dear... your heart burns for revenge and you are in their forest, and so they have felt it. They can sense these things and are closing in. They seek you now to make you an offer."

"I take it that they can offer me what I want in exchange for joining their demon-cult?" You scoff. "As if I would want someone else to do the work for me."

"They will find you soon enough," Elder Grey warns. "Be on your guard, child."

On that note, there's all sorts of things we could end up encountering. Everything that has populated the map so far had been the result of random generation, and there are still plenty of things we haven't seen. That's why I started this quest with just a character and a long-term goal; everything else has been made as we go.

"Thank you for the warning," you say to her. "Do you have any advice, per chance, if I should come up against them?"

"Keep your wits about you," she advises. "Gods know that I don't have any left, and neither do they!" She cackles as she strokes one of her cats.

Amused, you chuckle softly and decide to change the subject. "I am wondering, Elder Grey, if you have time to teach me some more."

"Oh? I may lack in wits but I've knowledge to spare. What is it you seek?"

"I lack the power to see beyond what my eyes tell me. Surely you, as old and blind as you are, must know something of this."

"Your other senses are not good enough?"

"I meant with magic. Every so often I come upon something I do not know. When I look upon a potentially magical item, I wish to be able to identify its properties."

"Ah," she nods. "Sight without sight, now I know what you seek. It is true; though my eyes are useless, I see things and hear things around me. This is not difficult, you need only know how to see and hear."

"Divination is a school I have never given much consideration towards," you admit. "I never thought I would find much use in it."

"I did not learn schools of magic. I simply leant magic! Now, pay attention..."

>Divination Starting Spells Acquired!

>New Spell: Farsense
By standing still and focusing on a point that you can see in the distance up to three hundred meters away, you can slowly extend your sense of hearing and sight to that point. This effectively works like a telescope combination sound amplifier, though you must focus on a stationary object or person. If you move, or the thing you are focusing on moves, you must quickly adjust or lose focus, snapping back to your present location. This will allow you to see and hear things from great distances. Provided your object or person of focus is not moving TOO quickly, you will be able to track your eyes on them even if they grow nearer or farther away (up to the aforementioned three hundred meter distance).

>New Spell: Identify Magic
By casting this spell on a specific item either in your hand or directly in front of you, you receive categorial information on its magical properties: its function, how it is wielded, the nature of its magic, etc. This spell does not inherently give you specific instructions; ie, it will tell you that a secret door will only open with a password, but it will not tell you the password. The same is for any magical item that is activated by a specific phrase or action.

In the time it takes to learn both of these spells, it is now the evening. Soon enough, the last light of the day will be upon the land, and you must bid Elder Grey farewell.

For now, you decide to leave Boris here; he may only complicate the mission. As you bid them farewell and ride south, you take out the ruby necklace and inspect it, casting your new spell upon it.
>>
>>936521

As it turns out, in addition to looking like a beautiful, sparkling ruby, it is a necklace of charm and functions much like the spell of the same name. Wearing it serves only to further enhance your beauty though subtle magical aspects. This Ruby of Regis, as it is known, will work so long as you wear it openly. Francis probably used it to flirt with tavern wenches. Slipping it around your neck, you ride to the Cutter Farm and find Ben not far from it, with his father's sword hanging from his belt.

"Mary," he says with a smile. He runs up to you and takes your hand. "Are we ready?"

He climbs up onto the horse, taking the reigns as you settle in behind him, hands around his waist. "I know where the mine is," he tells you as he kicks the horse into movement and takes off into the evening forest.

"Our plan is to liberate the goblins in the mine, and then finish off the rest of the Diggers with Samson," you tell him. "We'll need to be as stealthy as possible at first."

"Right."

"And Ben, this is important -- don't get in over your head. I know you're very eager, but take things carefully."

He nods his head. "Got it! Take things as they come."

"And do as I tell you! I don't want you getting killed because you think you know better. You've been at the farm, and I'm the one who has been involved in all of this. Understood?"

"I do. I promise."

"Good boy," you say, leaning over to kiss his cheek. "Make it out of this alive, and you'll have quite the surprise waiting for you..."

Within the hour or so, you and Ben have made it into Digger territory and are outside the mine. The mine itself is located northeast of their farm, not too far away, but far enough to be secluded. As you look at the dark entrance, you see no guards.

"What now?" Ben asks, taking out his sword.

"Give me a moment," you tell him, casting darkvision upon yourself. You focus on the mine entrance and peer inside, but all you see is a tunnel winding downwards. You'll have to descend into the mine in order to see what is inside. Turning to Ben, you take a moment to cast the spell of darkvision upon him as well, to allow him to better see in the tunnels.

He blinks as his eyes adjust to the darkness. "That's amazing!"

"Shh," you whisper, hearing someone approach. You look off to one side and see Samson walking towards the mine. You and Ben step out into the open.

"Well?"

"I got the children out of harm's way," he tells you. "But Uncle Leonard didn't take the news of his sons' deaths too well. He's taken my father down into the mine, along with any of the guards."

"As a captive?"

"I can't be sure. He seemed to agree with me that things have gone too far, but..."

"Well, let's not waste more time then," you say, looking back at the entrance. "Ben, if you would please lead the way."

Ben, then you, and finally Samson, all enter the mine as quietly as you can.

You creep along the mines until you can hear voices up ahead. The three of you come to a wider passage and Samson explains, "This is the main shaft. It's a rather large chamber..."

"Where are the goblins kept?"

"Mostly in pens in a tunnel on the right." He stops whispering when he hears another voice; his father's.

"It isn't right!"

"I know it ain't damn right, but I don't care," Leonard says. The three of you sneak up to the entrance of a large and well-lit central area, with the walls dug out and supported by beams of wood. You look down and spy, in the primary ore sorting area, Leonard, Samson's father and three armed guards.

"I'm not giving my son to that thing!" his father says.

"Someone has to make up for the loss," Leonard tells him. "And I'm not giving up my children."

Ben looks over. "Are they talking about you, Samson?"

"This ain't right! We're kin!" His father is suddenly grabbed by two of the guards as Leonard takes out a knife.

"Now, Vincent don't care what we bring him, so long as it's someone he can use. Your boy wasn't there to save my sons. He goes, or I kill you and send him off anyway!"

You see Samson about to stand up, but put a hand on him and tell him to keep quiet. Nearby, you see the shaft with the goblin pens.

You grab Samson's arm and pull him off to the side, and though he wants to help his father, he relents and takes you over to the goblin cells. He holds up the keys. "I swiped these earlier. I don't think he anyone noticed."

You look at Ben and tell him, "Get the goblin's mining tools ready. They'll need weapons."

Finally, you look upon the goblins as Samson picks up a torch and shows you them. They are ugly, short, mishapen things, weak and starved.

Even upon opening the cell doors, they don't want to move, fearful of what may happen to them. You kneel down to look at one, and he shies away from your gaze. It is difficult to tell if they are enthralled or not, but they're not in much fighting condition, either.

"Go!" you whisper urgently to them. "Free! Outside!"

Ben walks up with picks and shovels and drops them at their feet. This causes some noise, making the guards curious.

"What was that?" Leonard asks. "Go check on those damn goblins."

You thrust a pick into the hands of one goblin and then send him running towards the guard. "They're free!" the guard cries before picking up a boot and kicking it down.

That seems to motivate the others some more! They all arm themselves and charge out. Even if they cannot gain freedom, they can at least get some revenge on those tormenting guards!

You, Ben and Samson follow the goblins out as they attack the guards. Leonard looks upon you. "What? The Cutter boy?!"

"Samson!" his father shouts.

As Ben swings his sword at one of the guards who blocks it with his shield, you charge your hands with arcane energy. Samson takes out his hatchet and shouts, "It's over, Leonard! I'm not letting you kidnap any more people!"

"That's what YOU think!" he shouts back, taking out a whistle. He blows on it, hard, though there is no noise that you can hear. Something does, however, and a screech emerges from the lower tunnels.

"What was that?" Ben asks.

"My little insurance policy against meddling interlopers like YOU!" Leonard cries, making a break for the exit and pushing Samson's father to the ground! You take aim at him, but then your shot is blocked when a giant creature emerges from one of the nearby tunnels, flying down and landing in the main area. The massive bat screaches at you three, and then snaps a blue goblin up in its jaws!

The three guards back away as the bat steps forward, using its winged forearms to crawl closer!

I've been debating about combat for a while; I'm going to try sticking with what I know from MKK and giving it a shot here. So, here's the rundown:

>Roll 1d20 and describe an action (Cast Arcane Bolt! Curse him! Pick up a rock and throw it! etc.)

>The higher the roll, the more likely you are to succeed.
>Each enemy has different difficulty thresholds, kept secret by the QM.
>Each roll within a ten-minute period will be counted; good and bad.
>The QM will keep track of damage based on successes and failures.
>Nat 1s and Nat 20s will cancel each other out.

Knowing what you know of bats, you attempt to cast your firework spell to blind and deafen it! But as you do, the bat's left wing-arm lunges forward and jabs you in the stomach like a punch. You are knocked off your feet and sent flying backwards, whereupon you hit the wall.

"Mary!" Ben shouts. He turns towards the bat and hacks at it, managing to score a cut on its wing before it howls at him, then knocks him away like it did you.

>>936928
>>936932

You grit your teeth and get back up, but then the bat flaps its wings and flies up into the air. Its feet reach out and wrap around your shoulders, and soon enough you are flying up into the air with it! Your legs dangle as the bat carries you up towards the ceiling!

Ben shakes his head and looks up. He immediately looks around and sees a ladder, which he runs towards and begins to climb.

>>936937
>>936938

With the creature's claws around your shoulders, digging into your flesh, you can now safely touch it to deliver your daily curse! You shout the words of power and touch its feet, transferring the arcane curse into the monstrous creature. It lets out another screech as you bestow a curse of weakness upon it, sapping its strength! It stops circling the room and hovers for a moment.

>>936945

This gives Ben the opening he needs! Kicking off the wall, he falls with the ladder and then leaps onto the bat's back! It struggles to get him off, dropping you in the process! You fall and thankfully land on one of the guards, knocking him out.

You look up and see Ben holding on tightly, trying to position his sword for a killing strike!

Now that you are free, you put your hands together and create the ball of light for your firework spell, and launch it upwards!

It explodes with a resounding pop, especially in this confined area, that stuns everyone, but doubly so for the bat. The mine lights up as the harmless sparks shoot off in all directions. The bat, now stunned and blinded, screams as it flaps in circles.

Ben recovers his wits and shouts as he angles the sword and impales the beast through the shoulder, drawing blood!

>>936973
>>936984

Now you can drain the beast! You point one hand at its open wound while the other goes through the finger motions and you mutter your spell. Blood seeps out of its shoulder as you begin to drain the life energy of the creature! A dull red glow encircles its wound and your hand while you do this.

Soon, the bat is too tired to fly. It slowly lowers towards the ground, landing on all fours.

>>936981

Too weak to escape or dodge, you then cut off the life drain to instantly cast an arcane bolt! It flies towards the creature's head, hitting it unerringly between the eyes!

This does not kill it, but wounds it greatly. Ben, holding tightly onto its back, sees it rear its head up in response to your strike, and so he prepares one of his own! He holds his father's sword high over his head, and then chops it down right into the bat's neck! He buries the blade halfway in, nearly cutting the head cleanly off but not quite. The bat's eyes go wide and then it slumps to the ground, deaf, blind, bleeding and, finally, dead.

Ben withdraws his sword and holds it up high, letting out a triumphant cry!

But the battle is not over, for a guard who has shaken off the goblins now sees a chance and charges at him from behind!

The first guard lands over Ben and stabs him in the left shoulder! Ben shouts in pain as the guard withdraws the blade, preparing for a death blow!

That's when Samson comes up behind him with his hatchet and buries it in the man's neck. The guard falls over, choking on his blood. Ben sits up, picking his sword back up in his right hand. Samson helps him up.

>>937016

You look over at the other two guards; they seem well distracted by the goblins. You throw out an arcane bolt here as well, but it doesn't do much. Running over to Ben's side, you check his wound; though it is bleeding, he does not appear seriously injured.

"We need to get Leonard!" Samson says. His father walks up behind him, holding a pick.

I gtg for a few hours.
If/When ya'll decide to do the big reveal, I wrote out a speech that ya'll can use.
>Mirriam, Ben, listen. I-I really appreciate everything you’ve done and how you’ve always been there for me through thick and thin. When we first met, you asked about what happened to my home, and I wasn’t able to talk about it. But, now- I’m ready. I want to share my full story with you if you’re willing to hear it.

>I mentioned before that as a girl, I had some sort of innate magical ability that had to do with the dead. The truth is that the dead were attracted to me. Being a little girl and not understanding this, I was terrified. I’d see spirits in my bedroom, zombies in the graveyard, I couldn’t stand it! I just wished that I could tell them to go away. Then one day a wizard came through town. Somehow he was able to detect my magic ability and offered me a chance to be his apprentice. I was delighted and he whisked me away to his tower where he did magic for the nobility. I learned a few basic spells and helped him around his lab, it was great. But one day, as I was fetching something for him, I accidently saw him performing some sort of terrible magic. I felt horrified that he would do such a thing. Then it got worse. To prevent me from exposing his secret, he publicly accused me of committing the act. Betrayed by my mentor, I ran home. However, he then sent an army of undead to attack my village and silence me for good. So once again I ran and ran until I was lost in the forest. And then, I met you, and everything changed. You gave me a family, you gave me love and most of all you gave me hope. That someday I could defeat that evil wizard and clear my name.

>That evil wizard was Mordrax. And that girl was Sirena le Doux, who you know as Mary.

>I’m sorry I lied to you about my name and I’m sorry I hid it from you for so long. But I was scared, and everyone was out to get me, and I didn’t know what else to do. If this changes the way you feel about me, I understand. But I never meant to hurt you. And for what it’s worth, thank you, for everything.

"Go after him. We'll be right behind you!" you tell them.

Samson and his father nod and run up towards the mine exit. Ben wants to go with them. "I'm fine," he insists.

"Not yet, you aren't." You look over at the guards and notice they are bleeding from small wounds sustained during the fighting. You raise a hand and begin to drain one of them, channeling the life essence into Ben. The guard immediately weakens and the wound on Ben's shoulder stops bleeding. This causes the guard to become open, and a blue goblin buries a pickaxe in his leg. Another two descend on him with shovels, and he is soon dead.

The other guard is then taken down in a similar manner. You quickly drain him until he is too weak to fight, then the goblins take him down. Ben is nearly fully healed, with only a scar in his shoulder left.

"That's amazing," he says. But there's no time for him to marvel at your power -- you have to catch Leonard!

The two of you run out of the mine and towards the farm. There, you see Leonard with a pitchfork, fending off both Samson and his father.

"It's over, Leonard!" Samson shouts at him.

"Never! Damn you, I have the mayor on my side! You think you can just take everything I've built and burn it down!? I'll kill you!"

You raise a hand and blast the man's leg with an arcane bolt, which puts him down. Leonard shouts in pain and goes down, and soon both Ben and Samson are hauling him up to his feet against the barn wall.

'Now's a good time,' you think to yourself with a devious smile. You loudly say, "You should take him down now!" While it seems that you are advocating them putting down Leonard, you are actually commanding the knight to appear. They are about to question Leonard when Samson's father shouts out in pain; the knight came up behind him and stabbed him in the leg.

As you earlier had commanded him not to kill, he doesn't finish off the old man; he was merely in the way. Now the knight sets his sights on Ben, whose head turns and his eyes go wide.

You shout out at Ben, "It's Leonard! He's controlling the knight!"

Ben looks at the man and accuses him, "You did this?! You killed my father?!"

"What? No!" Leonard shouts desperately. "I wanted him dead, but--"

That very poor choice of words results in Ben stabbing the man in the gut with his father's sword. Samson lets go of him as Ben withdraws his blade. The knight begins to approach Ben, who holds up his sword. "Samson! Mary! Stay back -- THIS ONE'S MINE!" He charges at the knight. "FOR MY FATHER!"

Ben runs up to the knight and swings his sword. The undead blocks the first few strikes, playing defensively. Ben whacks away at the accursed undead with practiced but novice skill, hacking and chopping away, battering against a stronger defense. He has heart, but needs experience to temper it with.

>>937147

When the undead sees an opening, he bashes Ben in the face, knocking him back. His nose is bleeding.

>>937148

But he's not quick to give up! He rolls to the side as the undead swings down at him, then kicks the thing's leg out from under it. He pops up and bashes the undead's helm with his pommel, knocking the helmet free.

>>937150

That's when the undead bashes him in the stomach with his shield, knocking the wind out of him. He then brings the shield up and hits his chin, putting him on his back. You and Samson both watch as the undead brings up a boot and stomps on his chest, and then does it again.

>>937167

Samson has had enough watching. He runs forward and tackles the undead off of him, much like he did to you last night. He and the undead tumble away, giving Ben a chance to breathe again.

However, the knight doesn't have the same orders to not kill Samson, and so stabs him in the leg with his blade. The young man shouts as Ben gets back up!

>>937168

"HEY!" Ben cries, attacking the knight from behind. He stabs his sword clean through the knight's chest, which it doesn't seem to feel at all. It stands up and turns around, wrenching the sword from the young farmer's grip.

Unarmed and staring down a stronger opponent, Ben's options are limited.

>>937173

The undead swings at him, again and again, and Ben barely manages to dodge each one. The blade narrowly slices through the air, but when he steps back to dodge he trips on a rock and falls.

'I'm really going to have to work on him,' you think to yourself. 'He's very rough around the edges.'

'Well, I had better give him a hand.'

With a simple and subtle command, whispered from where you are, the undead knight then trips over the same rock, ending up on its stomach. Ben's eyes go wide as he sees his father's sword sticking out of its back! He leaps to his feet and runs up to it, pulling it out and then immediately impaling it back downwards -- this time in the knight's head!

You watch as he withdraws his sword, then holds it up high before chopping it downwards, decapitating the undead. The head rolls way from its body as Ben stands up, triumphant, his sword held high! He then closes his eyes and brings the blade close to his face, as though praying to his father. The sight is nothing short of inspiring, and for you, it is a culmination of your work so far.

He's a hero. A naive, brash and inexperienced one -- but he's YOUR hero.

When he lowers his sword and sees you approaching, he takes a deep breath, unsure of what comes next.

You place your hands on his chest and give him a kiss -- but only a quick one. You pull away and tell him, "The well. We must secure it, and quickly."

Though he wanted more, your words get through to him. "You're right. Let's go!"

Samson waves you both off when you approach. "Go. I'm fine. I'll clean up here..." He reaches for Leonard's pitchfork and uses it as a crutch to stand on while he goes to help his father.

Within minutes, the two of you are riding towards the well. When you get there, however, what greets you is not what you had imagined.

The two guards posted there are dead. Two figures dressed in white are hunched over them while a third in black looms over them. As your horse enters the clearing, the figure in black turns around.

Your darkvision allows you both to see him plainly. He has pale skin and white hair, and his leather jacket hangs loosely from his shoulders.

"Who are you?" Ben demands, looking past him at the dead guards.

He holds up his hands and smiles a bright, white smile. "I'm a friend."

Ben takes out his sword. "Why don't I believe you?"

Something is strange about this man... the way he moves, the way he looks, the way he speaks...

"But down your sword, boy," the white-haired man commands, and Ben slowly obeys. "Good. Now then... This doesn't have to end violently. My previous deal seems to no longer be in effect, so I'm here to make a new one." His thralls behind him look up and hiss, their faces covered in blood from the necks of their victims. Their fangs drip with it.

Your eyes go wide as you realize who -- and what -- he is.

'Vincent... he's a vampire!'

You speak up. "You're Vincent -- Albert's brother, aren't you?"

He seems genuinely surprised. "My reputation precedes me? Fantastic. And it seems my brother got to meet this fair, beautiful maiden before I... I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, given how fate toys with me and seems to favor him. Were fate a woman, not even I could seduce her."

You lean in to whisper in Ben's ear, "He's a vampire... If we're not careful, he'll make slaves of us!"

"What do we do?"

"Let me handle this -- I can resist him with magic." You gulp. 'Here's hoping...'

His thralls linger behind him non-threateningly, but within distance to defend their master as he approaches. "Well, since you know me, allow me to ask to whom I have the pleasure of speaking to, since you are the ones I will be negotiating with from this point onwards."

"We'll have nothing to do with you, vampire," Ben says, but you put a hand on his shoulder to calm him.

"I am Mary, and this is Ben Cutter. We know the Diggers were delivering young girls to you. To feed on, I'm guessing?"

He holds up his hands in an innocent manner, but then adds, "A man must eat. But no, not all of them were fed upon..." He looks back at his two thralls. "Here are two of them now, after all."

"So you turned them into monsters," Ben says through gritted teeth.

"All in the purpose of a higher cause," the man explains. "You see, I delivered the goblins to the Diggers for use in their mine, in exchange for more promising youthful souls."

"To what end -- what higher purpose?" you ask, intrigued.

"I cannot speak of such matters here," he explains. "After all, you know not who might be listening." He gestures to the guards at the well, very much dead. "But I have helped clean up for you, to allow you to more easily take over the well. If you are now the ones I am going to be dealing with, I thought it prudent to offer a gift of friendship."

"We don't need your--" Ben begins, but you stop him again.

"So, that's your gift?"

"Not quite." He takes out a scroll and drops it to the ground. "That is. My contract with the Digger patriarch, signed in his blood. And the mayor's, too. Proof of our deal."

You look back up from the scroll to him. "I take it you'll be returning to the tavern, then? At Cross Lake?"

"Indeed I shall. And when you want to speak to me, come and pay me a visit. I assure you that you are most welcome. There, in private, we can discuss what is truly going on and come to a new arrangement." He gives an elaborate bow, and then before your eyes he and his thralls turn into vampire bats in a cloud of smoke and fly away into the night sky.

It is curious -- he didn't attempt to enthrall you at all during your conversation. You would have known it if he had.

"I don't like this," Ben says. "Vampires..."

After picking up the contract scroll and hiding the bodies, you ride back to the Digger farm, but not before getting some water from the well. There, you find Samson with a makeshift bandage around his leg. You give him some of the water for him and his father.

"It's done," he says to you. "Leonard is dead. That means my father inherits the farm."

You nod. "What about Leonard's wife and children?"

"His wife died a long time ago. The kids, well, they'll fall in line. They weren't here so we can tell them whatever we'd like. I sent them into town with my mother earlier today."

"I hope you'll remember our agreement," you reply. "We have proof that can expose the mayor, so very soon the well will be between us to settle."

"I will, I promise. You've my absolute word on it, Mary. Thank you for your help." He looks up at Ben. "And you, Ben. I know your father and my uncle didn't get along... for good reason. But I hope this means we can stop this fighting between the Cutters and the Diggers."

Ben leans down to shake his hand, and soon enough you're both riding off into the night.

"Well, aside from a few hiccups, I don't think that could have gone better," you say to him with a smile.

"I agree. It was amazing... I avenged my father! I slew a great beast in the mine!"

"That you did," you whisper. 'With MY help, not that you need to know or care.'

He puts a hand on yours, currently resting on his stomach. "I couldn't have done this without your help, Mary."

'Oh. He actually is acknowledging my help. How about that?'

He looks back as the horse trots along at a slow pace. "I don't exactly know what comes next, but... I want to be an adeventurer. A hero, like the ones you always hear about in the stories. And I want you to be there with me."

"Perhaps," you reply. "But those are thoughts for another day." Slowly, your hands travel from his waist to up his shirt. "Right now, I'm thinking of something else..."

He swallows a lump in his throat. "My, uh, reward?"

"Oh yes," you whisper in his ear. "You did such a good job tonight. I was so worried while we were fighting, but you were so brave..."

"Really?"

"Ben... Let's get off the horse."

He keeps his eyes trained forward as his breathing grows slightly heavier. He turns the horse towards a mossy, moon-lit clearing and then dismounts, reaching up to help you off. After tying down the horse, you open the saddle pack and take out a blanket. You approach the center of the clearing and lay it out, then sit on it, leaning on one arm as you lift up your dress to expose a single leg.

"Come here, Ben," you tell him with a sly smile and a firm tone. "It's impolite to keep a woman waiting."

The young man steps forward and sits on the blanket, setting his sword off to one side. You stare at him with your eyes half-lidded, invitingly beckoning him with a finger. He crawls towards you, seemingly hypnotized.

"Mary, I..." He seems suddenly so nervous, whereas before he was confident.

You raise a brow. "Have you ever done this sort of thing before?"

"...No," he admits, his throat suddenly dry. You smile at his honesty.

While his lack of experience apparently extends from fighting to lovemaking, you have to admit, there is something... enticing about a fresh, ripe, unplucked fruit, dangling within reach.

Only after a decent amount of playing around. It'll be better if we have him more deeply enthralled before we reveal our true identity. Merriam is probably reliant enough to handle the reveal already, but we should have some fun with her first as well, just to cement that bond.

You smile as you lean in and capture his lips in a kiss. Tilting your head, you moan as you deepen it, drawing him in with your hand until you are both lying upon the blanket, bodies slowly shifting and entwining. You wrap a leg around his waist, pulling him even more tightly against you as your chests rub together.

"Mary," he whispers as you break the kiss. "You're... You're amazing, I..."

"I know I am," you say with a sultry smile, your hand rubbing his hard chest. "What else am I?"

"You're beautiful," he says as he attacks your neck, kissing and feeling your back with his hand while the other travels up your leg.

"Go on..." You softly gasp as you feel something hard straining against his pants rub against your thigh, straining to get out.

"And I, I want you," he says into your ear. "You're magical, and smart, and... And..."

You smile and let a sleeve fall down your shoulder, exposing part of your chest. With a little more work, you get the rest off, and whereas before he was at a loss for more words to describe you by, but now he is stunned into silence when his eyes feast upon the glory of your breasts.

'Worship me,' you think as your take his head and rest it between your breasts, moaning as you do. 'My body is a temple, and you must worship it!'

There are no words from that point on; other than moans, throaty gutteral growls and screams of pleasure, none are needed.

The following vote affects the smutbin that will be eventually written by the end of this thread detailing exactly how much Sirena is going to direct the lovemaking; how "in control" she decides to be, essentially.

You awaken the next morning with a yawn, a stretch and a sore, satisfied feeling between your legs. As your eyes flutter open to take in sunlight and your ears pick up the sounds of birds singing, you experience a faint weakness in your lower limbs, a trembling that slowly crawls up your spine to deliver a pleasurable sensation that makes you sigh.

'Gods, it had been too long,' you think to yourself. You bite your lip as your hands roam over your body as you lay on the dishevelled blanket, eager to touch, to feel, to recapture some of that delightful post-orgasmic bliss that was followed by a damn good night's sleep. But try as you might, your efforts are in vain as the sensations slowly bleed away. A delightful ache yet remains, one you'll enjoy for some time... until your next session with your lover.

Speaking of which, he is still asleep, snoring soundly alongside you. You cannot help but smile; he was indeed satisfactory, even if he snores. In fact, with some more training and experience, which you plan to give him plenty of if he continues to perform to expectation. 'Mmm, yes indeed,' you think as you lay an arm on his chest. 'We'll be having more nights like that, I think. MANY more such nights.'

Your smile widens as you think about the events of last night play through your mind. His shortcomings, though admittedly few, will have to be worked on. But he's young, eager to please, and oh so capable of learning. Your lips find his skin and taste it; your tongue drags slowly across his shoulder and up to his neck. 'You're mine now, Ben. All mine. To do with as I please...' As your hands trail across his chest, his snoring ceases and he wakes up.

"Mary..." He hasn't even seen you yet, and the first word out of his lips is your name.

Well, not your real name.

Not yet, anyway.

"Good morning, lover."

He looks over at you, then down at your nude form, then up at the sky. He takes a deep breath. "Oh, wow..."

You smile at his reaction.

I've seen a lot of discussion saying the reveal would be preferred to be in front of Merriam and Ben both

No. Sirena reveals her identity to Merriam and Ben at the same time. We're going back to the Cutter farm, getting everyone caught up and telling the family the well is there, then we're pulling Merriam deep into the woods with us and Ben so no one hears us during the reveal.

>>938407
By doing the reveal to both of them, they're both sworn to secrecy and protection of Sirena, since neither of them can back out at that point. They're both fully committed at that point.

>>Get dressed and ride west, to Cutter Farm

We don't need to thrall them any more. They're already 95% in Sirena's pocket, willingly, I might add. Anything they do from this point forward is strictly of their own volition.

>>938415
>>938431
Should we wait until after the Mayor is dealt with and this whole episode is wrapped up?
>>
>>938463
The mayor can be dealt with on its own timetable. We have to do the reveal now while the iron is hot and before we head into civilization proper. By letting them know now, they will be in a better position to protect us and won't be swayed by whatever the guards or wanted posters say.
>>
>>938463
I think we should tell them before the mayor.
That way we have something to distract them with after we achieve initial acceptance. This'll give our truth time to establish itself in their minds, as opposed to them having a lot of time to think it over.

You look down and see him, ready to go. As entertaining as a morning romp would be, you decide to sit up, find your clothing and get dressed. Ben, though somewhat sheepish, is more confident around you now, putting his arms around your waist and kissing your neck, apparently still interested in the idea.

"Later, lover," you tell him. "Business first." You are firm with him, and he doesn't challenge you; likely he is far too smitten to do so.

After getting him and yourself dressed, you ride west towards his family farm. Despite your words, you take the opportunity to feel his chest up, which makes him swell with pride. You've no doubt in your mind that he thinks the two of you quite the pair.

He rides up to the mill with you clinging onto him, right up to his family as they do their morning chores. Though they are initially unhappy, thinking you stole him away for the night, the truth is much greater and when the good news hits them their mood and opinion change almost immediately.

And even though you did steal him away last night to sleep with, they don't seem to mind or care.

That breakfast, you allow Ben to regale them with tales of his heroism and the great battle within the mines, his defeat of the undead knight and their claiming of the well. He presents the proof of their encounter with Vincent, and of the mayor's involvement in their crimes.

His brothers listen closely, looking up to him like the hero he feels like. His Uncle Jed and his mentor Jonah are both proud, as is his mother, but all three are mostly glad he is safe. Merriam, sitting next to you at the dinner table, lays a hand on your own underneath it. She throws a knowing wink you way; she clearly knows who was responsible for at least half of the victory.

But Ben doesn't leave you out; he is quick to sing your praises and mend bridges between you and his family. They all thank you and say that they are in your debt for what you have done for the family.

>I mentioned before to Merriam that as a girl, I had some sort of innate magical ability that had to do with the dead. As I gasped and dropped what I was holding, he caught me looking. To prevent me from exposing his secret, he publicly accused me of committing his crime. Betrayed by my mentor, I ran home. However, he then sent an army of undead to attack my village and silence me for good. So once again I ran and ran until I was lost in the forest. And then, I met you, and everything changed. You gave me a family, you gave me love, and most of all you gave me hope.

This isn't revealing anything about our necromancy skill yet. Just dealing with our true identity and setting the stage for the necromancy speech later.
>>
>>938551
This is pretty good, I'd prefer a dash of Sirena Le Doux confidence in there. But otherwise solid.
>>
>>938551
Nah, dude, fuck that. You're adding too many details and orchestrating an elaborate and frankly unnecessary sob story. Serina already secured their allegience through the merit of her actions; we don't need to go to such lengths to endear Sirena to them, because it's already been done. Just be up front about who she is, what she's accused of, that it's all a lie and that she needs their help to get her vengeance.
>>
>>938533
this sounds nice too tbpf.

I wouldn't do the reveal on the way to town though. Riding down the road seems like an awkward place to have such a heavy, dramatic conversation.

Whelp, it's time I guess

Now, there's a lot that could go into this, or not so much

So, let's see if I can narrow this down to a few options

>Be as blunt as possible and trust that you've built up enough trust in them to make them believe you
>Omit a few details and lead them on somewhat; play it fast and cool yet safe
>Essentially, sob story; make them believe you by stacking on more lies but mix in the truth

>>
>>938576
The only lie by omission we have to worry about is that Sirena is the one who let the undead knight kill their dad. Beyond that, tell them everything.
>>
>>938570
>>Be as blunt as possible and trust that you've built up enough trust in them to make them believe you

Facts, half-truths, and our opinions disguised as facts will be our weapons here.

Mordrax was and is conspiring against the crown, we "found out," he pinned the entire thing on us.

>>938580
You mean aside from us having originally been in on the plot against the crown with Mordrax, right?
>>
On that note, I think I'm going to go to bed for the night.

We'll resume tomorrow! Please, by all means, continue to discuss the ideal way for us to come out to Merriam and Ben.

See you tomorrow! and I'll see about getting that smutbin done
>>
>>938570
>>Omit a few details and lead them on somewhat; play it fast and cool yet safe

We're not who we first said we are. Please understand, and wait till the end in order to judge us.
We were an apprentice of the court mage Mordax, and caught him in the middle of an experiment that was clearly evil.
To avoid suspicion he instead blamed it all on us, and we had to run because no one would listen to us.
At first we couldn't trust anyone, but we trust you two enough to tell you the truth, even if we might end up dead because of it.
We know that he has terrible plans for the kingdom, as the only one who knew it falls to us to stop him.
We fear that he may even be behind the recent upswing of undead.
Please help us bring him to justice

Something like this.
>>
>>938576
>>938580
Furthermore, only use the magical kiss if we're at serious risk of losing them (which I sincerely doubt). Our natural charm should carry us through.

>>938560

feel free to edit and whatever. This was just what I cooked up as a template.
I'm sure Damashi will add his touch to the finished product.

Goodnight
>>
>>938580
>Beyond that, tell them everything.
Including that we're a necromancer, or saving that for later?
>>
>>938627
We can't really deny that one. Merriam watched us training under a necromancer for a couple weeks. If Ben asks why we didn't help with the undead knight when it killed his dad, we say we didn't have the power to stop the knight at the time.
>>
>>938627
Additionally, we have training in the magic school of Necromancy. That does not strictly make us a "necromancer." If they must question what to call us, call us a "sorceress."
>>
How does everyone feel about this?

>Mirriam, Ben. I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for me and how you’ve always been there for me from the day we met. I know now that I can trust you with anything, so please, hear me out. I have a secret that I must reveal, before I can in good conscious go a step farther.

>I mentioned before to Merriam that as a girl, I had some sort of innate magical ability that had to do with the dead. The truth is that I had some talent magic in general. Because of this, I was taken as an apprentice to a powerful wizard. I was delighted and he whisked me away to his tower where he did magic for the nobility. I only studied under him for a short time, but one day I stumbled across him performing some sort of terrible magic.

>I thought to reveal him, and fled. To prevent me from exposing his secret, he publicly pinned his crime on me. He was famous, I was not. He was powerful, I was not. He was believed, I was not. Betrayed by my mentor, I was forced to flee, hunted by all, with no one to trust or turn to. And then, I met you. You gave me a chance, you gave me love, and most of all you gave me hope. It is with that hope that I entrust this secret to you, that you will help me set this to rights.

>That evil wizard was Mordrax. And I Sirene Le Doux, the wanted sorceress, to the world. You are the only ones who know the truth. The only ones who I have found that I can trust.

>I’m sorry I lied to you about my name and I’m sorry I hid it from you for so long. But I felt that I had no other option. Please know that, even after the first few days, I knew that I was going to reveal this to you, because you were both good people, strong and upstanding.

>The only reason I waited this long was in the hope that you would grow to trust me just as much as I trusted you.

>Now that you have heard my tale, tell me, Mirriam, Ben, will you help me right this wrong? Will you help me stop the evil that is Mordax before he causes even more suffering?
>>
>>938561
>Serina already secured their allegience through the merit of her actions
Until they sit and consider how when we first met, we instantly made up a story and cried big fat alligator tears about our 'lost family'.

Once they consider what a good liar/actor Sirena was to keep this hidden so long, they may begin to wonder if everything she says and does is an act.
>>
>>938651
It's a little too flowery, but at least it gets the same point across with fewer lies. Part of me feels she's more blunt around her associates.
>>
>>938660
How do you lie about murdering the Digger clan and securing the well for the Cutters? How do you lie about saving Merry from the barbarians?
>>
>>938668
Half the confession, honestly, is Merry corroborating everything we did.
>>
>>938666
I cut out a lot of the flowers from the first suggestion, but I think being a little effusive might be good here. This is supposed to be her -big- secret.
>>
If we are forced to explain about our original lie of something terrible having happened to our family, I feel we should say something about not being able to find them, only having found their home burnt down.
>>
>>938570
>>Omit a few details and lead them on somewhat; play it fast and cool yet safe
Don't tell them we killed their dad, claim that Mordax 100% framed you and that we were not involved in any way, and downplay our magic ability slightly so that they do not know about certain abilities such as the magic kiss. Otherwise honesty.
>>
>>938689
Do we even know what actually happened to our family? Do we even have family?

Also, we can just say that yes it was a lie, we made up a backstory because we couldn't very well tell them all we were wanted by the crown.
>>
>>938651
good. we should, of course, stretch the truth just a bit and make sure that they understand how grateful we are for their actions. at the same time, being candid and dropping the mary act should save us a ton of trouble in the long run, since i'd imagine we'll have to adopt several other fake identities along the way to mordrax and beyond

also we've gotta follow through with this mayor thing. since he's a semi-major political figure he may have some kind of connection to mordrax
>>
>>938697
We truthfully don't know anything about Sirena's life before Mordrax's betrayal. The running idea is that Sirena was made Mordrax's chief apprentice because her ability to be amazing arm candy and her massive magic potential (her qualifications were weighted more towards arm candy, to be honest). Beyond that, we really don't know anything about Sirena's life before she became the court wizard's chief apprentice.
>>
>>938732
To say nothing of her interactions with the royal court at large during her tenure as apprentice.
>>
>>938651
Looks good to me. I see what you meant by the touch of confidence.
>>
>>938689
I like this too.
>>
>>938637
For this, I'm thinking we should consult Merriam on how to break it to him.

Or do something like this:
>When I was a girl the dead were attracted to me because my magic ability. Spirits in my bedroom, zombies in the graveyard, it was terrifying! I just wished that I could tell them to go away.

>Eventually I got used to it since they never really did anything. That is until that zombie killed your dad.

>And when it came back to attack you, Ben, at that point I finally decided that I couldn’t keep ignoring them anymore. I decided that I will learn how to tell them to go away. And more than that, to turn them against the evil people like Mordrax who create them.

>So I’m going to study some necromancy and learn how these things work, so that I can stop them and their masters.

Ben: B-but I can protect you now Sirena, you don’t need to taint yourself with evil magic.

>No Ben, this is about more than that, it’s about me facing this thing that’s been haunting me my whole life and showing it who’s boss.

Then explain that we need to visit Albert for a few days to learn a few spells and ask him for advice on dealing with Vincent Price. Then we can come back and say,
>"Horray, I can control zombies now! Better late than never amirite?” *wink, wink at Merriam*
And then everyone will be on the same page and we can move on.

After breakfast, and another round of thanks from the older members of the family, you take Ben and Merriam outside. "We need to go somewhere private and talk about something very important," you tell them. Though confused, they both trust you and you lead them out into the forest, to a private location.

Along the way, you think about how it is time you did what you have been thinking about doing ever since Francis revealed that he knew who you truly are. You soon find the cave that you and Merriam both slept in once and tell them to wait outside. Inside, you change into your previous clothing and undo whatever spells are masking your identity, then cast a minor illusion spell upon yourself to appear as Mary. You then step out and face them both; they stop speaking to each other and look over at you.

"Ben, Merriam..." you begin, pausing for a moment. "You two are my friends. More than that, even. I trust you both completely, and that is why I have to tell you the truth."

They look at each other, then back to you. "What do you mean, Mary?" Ben asks.

'Well, here we go.'

"My name isn't really Mary, and I'm afraid that's not the only lie I've been telling you." You wave your hand before their confused eyes, dispelling your illusion and revealing yourself in full; dark hair, leather outfit and beautiful features all. "I am the sorceress, Sirena Le Doux, wanted for crimes against the realm."

While you could have broken it in a number of different ways, your bluntness shocks them into stunned silence. They don't know how to react. You hold up a hand and say, "Before you say anything, I ask you to think about what I have done for you both. Your family, your home, you as individuals... And after you have done so, to listen and listen carefully. I am not what they say I am. It is true, I am a sorceress -- I was the apprentice to the royal wizard. Everything they have said I have done, everything I am wanted for, is a lie. I have been framed for crimes I did not commit by the very man I was apprenticed to."

Merriam puts a hand over her mouth, unsure of what to say or even think. Ben, however, seems to come to his wits first. "You were lying... all along?"

"Not about everything," you say in a pleading tone. "Please, understand. I fled from the capital when my master, Mordrax, framed me for his crimes. He is the one who plots to take over the kingdom! I was his student, yes, but he is the one who is a traitor. He is evil, and his ambitions know no limit."

"But..." Merriam says. "You... said that your family, was..."

"I lied," you admit. "And I'm sorry. But I was alone in the wilderness and didn't know who I could trust with knowing who I truly am. Then I found you, and your family was so welcoming, and you both so kind." You touch your hand to your heart. "But even so, I knew I couldn't reveal the truth until I knew I could trust you, and that you could trust me."
>>
Merriam looks at Ben, who slowly shakes his head. "And yet, I've seen posters for you. If you are telling the truth, how did this wizard fool everyone?"

"He has long served the royal family. They know him, they trust him, but he has fooled them. He has planned to take over the kingdom by using this trust to his advantage."

"How do I know you aren't doing the same with us?" he asks, his hand resting on his sword's hilt.

You look at Merriam. "Merriam, please, speak. I saved us from the barbarians. I taught you magic." You then look at Ben. "I helped your family secure the well; we're going to expose the corruption of the mayor! Would someone who sought only to use you do any of these things for you?" They don't immediately reply, which gives you a chance to walk closer. "Ben... I was there, when your father was killed. You know this. That night, I left in order to learn magic of how to control the undead from a necromancer to the west. Merriam was with me."

"It's true..." Merriam slowly nods. "I was there with her when she used this power to save me from some undead that found us out in the wild."

His brow furrows in thought; he is still clearly conflicted. The gears are turning in his head; he wants to believe you, you can tell, but there is resistance. You continue, "Ben, please believe me. You two mean more to me than anyone else in my life, because I am trusting you with this knowledge, my greatest secret! If I was the villain they said I was, if I was the traitor, would I reveal myself and come clean like I am? To people like you? Would I have done what I have done for you?"

After a moment of letting the question hang in the air, his expression softens and his hand slides off his sword. "No... I don't think you would."

"You both are good and noble of heart," you say, now close enough to lay hands on their shoulders. "You are my friends, and I am asking you for help. Mordrax is an evil, dark wizard, but no one knows the truth or wants to believe it. He framed me for everything HE was plotting to do, and if we do not stop him, he will rule the kingdom."

Your words, expertly timed and placed, spark something within Ben, and Merriam seems to follow his lead. His eyes light up and his hand curls into a fist.

"It's not right," he says. "He can't get away with it!"

"Yes!" you say, and then look at Merriam.

"I just... It's a lot to take in, so suddenly," she whispers, putting a hand on her forehead. "So... Mary, your real name is Sirena? That's what you want us to call you?"

"Actually, it would be best if you didn't call me that," you say. "Bounty hunters and more are looking for me. The kingdom, and Mordrax likely, want me dead for the wrong reasons. Until I can clear my name and expose Mordrax, just like how we're going to expose that pig of a mayor, I must remain hidden, and this is where I trust the two of you the most: you know my secret, and I'm trusting you to keep it."
>>
"But what are we going to do?" Merriam asks. "I mean, we can't take on the royal wizard by ourselves."

"Not until we grow more powerful," you reply. "Merriam, I want to continue teaching you magic. Ben, I want you to train and become the greatest warrior in the land. I think that, together, we could defeat Mordrax."

Ben seems almost immediately on board; appealing to his sense of heroism seems to have worked. "So it'll be the three of us, saving the kingdom?"

"Yes! Or perhaps more, if we meet more allies. But the problem is, the kingdom doesn't know it NEEDS saving. Not yet."

Merriam is confused. "So, what do we do until then?"

"We prepare," you say, squeezing her shoulder. "Whether we learn magic, train, become adventurers, I don't know -- but we're going to do it together. That is, unless you're not with me..."

"I am!" Ben quickly proclaims. "I swear it!"

You both then look at Merriam, who begins to feel slightly pressured. But like you knew she would, she relents. "I am, too." You smile and hug her, and then Ben hugs you both.

As you three embrace, you smile to yourself. 'Now, I have them.' You alternate between Merriam and Ben, giving them both a kiss on the cheek. 'Your days are numbered, Mordrax.'

As the hug breaks, Merriam is the first to speak.

"So, what do we do now, Mary?" Merriam asks, then quickly catches her mistake. "I mean... Do you stay as Mary? Do we stay as who we are?"

Merriam only had to keep her disguise when we whisked her away from her family without their knowledge. Everyone is united and on the same page now, so Merriam doesn't need to stay hidden. Ben and Merry can just be answering the call to adventure; only Sirena is the one who really needs to hide her identity, at least until she has a sufficient base of power.

"For now, I will remain as Mary," you say, changing your face and hair back to your disguise. Ben watches, fascinated, as you do this. It must come as quite a shock to him, knowing that the woman he laid with last night was someone else all along. You'll have to pay special attention to him later on to make up for it.

And to Merriam, too. When you return to the cave to change, she follows you.

"I was wondering, Mary -- I mean, Sirena -- No, wait, I DO mean Mary!"

You smile, amused by her antics. "It's fine, Merriam. What is it?"

"Could I have my red hair back? I really liked having it." You smile and wave your hand in front of her, turning her sandy-blonde hair into a lustrous and beautiful red, and her eyes back to a sparkling green. When she sees her hair is red again, her face lights up. "Thank you, Mary!"

"No thanks are needed," you say, stepping up to her and running a hand through her hair. "In fact, I may prefer you this way."

She blushes as your face draws near. "Sirena, ah, Mary that is, I... had a question."

"Yes?"

"I noticed something strange about Ben's behavior. He seems, I don't know, just a little bit different somehow, but only when you are around. I was wondering, if you and him, are... well..."

"Well?"

She looks up at you, confused and embarrassed.. "It's just, I thought that we might have something... special."

'Damn. As if I'm going to lose her after all the work I've done...'

You fix her with a confident look and approach her, gently pushing her back until she is up against the cave wall. She shivers as your face comes within an inch of hers, your eyes boring into her.

"You'll always be special to me, Merriam." You then press your lips firmly against hers, delighting in the sound she makes as your chests push against each other. Your hands find hers and hold her against the wall as you ravage her mouth with your tongue, demanding obedience through action.

When you break the kiss, she is weak in the knees. You smile at her and say, "It's true, I took Ben as a lover last night. I was giving him his hero's reward. But he's not the only one who deserves rewarding..."

Her face grows red hot. "M-Mary... Sirena..."

You lean into her ear and add, "I want you just as much as I want him, Merriam... I want you both."

"I, I was worried, when you said we were friends, I..."

"We can be more," you assure her, nibbling on her ear. 'And you WILL be more. Much, much more. You'll be mine, completely, body and soul...'

You assault her neck as she gasps and breathes deeply. "Mary! N-not here, please... Not with Ben waiting outside!"

"Why? You want him to be in here with us?"

If she was red before, she's crimson now. "N-no! I meant, outside!"

"Ah, a classy young woman. I respect that... we'll wait, then." You lean back from her neck after giving one last lick and then stare into her eyes. "First thing's first... What is my name?"

"S... Sirena."

"Not now, I'm not," you remind her, your tone sounding slightly disappointed.

"I'm sorry. It's Mary."

"Good," you smile, then kiss her again. You whisper in her ear, "That's the name I'm going to make you scream later..."

She trembles, mind reeling from the implication of those words. She puts a hand over her mouth and walks out of the cave as you begin to change, a constant smile on your face while you do.

'Who knew that manipulating people was this fun? I should've started doing this a long time ago.'

When your work is done and you are changed fully back into the dress you borrowed from Merriam, you find them both sitting near each other but not quite speaking. The air seems slightly awkward as you clasp your hands together. "So! Shall we get going? First order of business..."

The three of you ride off towards Digger Farm. Ben rides his own horse while Merriam holds onto you as you ride the one you stole from the barbarians, and by afternoon you are there going over things with Samson and his father. Samson's mother has returned from town and is tending to the children; they are orphans now, but it's for the better.

You take out the contract that Vincent left last night and unroll it. It covers, essentially, the transfer of the goblins slaves in exchange for human captives, referred to as "livestock". It details the nature of the agreement, how often it will be carried out, but strangely enough, all details concerning Vincent himself have been marked out and inked over. His name and signature, all things detailing his identity or that could be linked back to him, have been removed.

"He's covering himself," Ben says. "But the rest should be enough to prove Leonard and the mayor's involvement, right? Their signatures aren't touched."

"That would be the case, yes," you say, looking over the contract. This Vincent is rather professional, you have to admit; the contract itself is rather well-done and extensive.

"What do we do about this Vincent guy?" Samson asks.

Ben has an answer, albeit a zealous one. "I say we cut off that vampire's head and put it on a spike!"

"Something tells me we wouldn't get the chance," you reply. "He'll only be met on his territory now, and he strikes me as someone who isn't caught unaware and unprepared. We need to deal with him, I agree, but that is a last resort."

"We can't trust vampires," Ben points out. "They feed on the living! They just see us as food, right?"

"We should trust Mary," Merriam says. "She knows what she's doing."

You roll up the scroll and look at the others. "Let's not worry about Vincent at the moment. Let's focus on ending this mess between your families, and finally getting the mayor exposed."

Merriam eagerly nods her head. "The longer we wait, the more difficult the situation may become."

"Alright," Ben says. "But how are we going to go about this? The mayor has friends in a lot of places. Pa always talked about how half the guards are on his payroll and not the country's."

You fold your arms and think.

Merriam and Samson, you are going to try to distract the mayor; see if you can lure him out of his office or keep him busy while I sneak inside."

"You're going to sneak inside?" Samson asks.

"We could use all the proof we can find," you reply. "If we're lucky, perhaps he kept tabs on his deal."

"Who will take the scroll?" Merriam asks.

You hand it to Ben. "Use this to prove to the authorities about what is happening. If all goes as planned, we can expose him publically and have him be arrested for what he's done."

He takes the scroll and nods. "I won't let you down."

Throwing a wink at him, you reply, "I know."

Ben gets on his horse and rides southeast while you, Merriam and Samson head south towards Bridge Town. By the time you arrive, it is late afternoon. The town is still busy, and so you and the other two split to put your plan into action.

As Merriam and Samson go about their work, you sneak into the mayor's office through an open window. Unfortunately, luck isn't on your side -- there is a guard left in his office.

He turns around when he hears you enter. "Hmm? Who are you?" He looks you up and down. "You, uh... One of the mayor's girls, then?" He scratches under his helmet. "You don't usually, ah, come over here this early, see... He just stepped out."

You grab him by the collar and lead him over to the wall, letting his hands roam as you do. When he is close enough and you have his helmet off, you reach back, grab the warthog and slam it over your head and onto his. You hear a loud crack and the man goes down, drooling on the floor.

Tossing the broken taxidermy aside, you dust off your hands. "Sorry, honey. You're beneath me."

You step on his head as you walk over him and up to the desk, whereupon you start looking through some files.

>>
>>940577
But we would've had to KISS him.
>>
>>940577

I don't think we can improve that much just by kissing, that's the most basic of thralldom skills. Unless there's an advanced version of the charm kiss magic, I doubt repeating it over and over again would do much.
>>
>>940602
>Charm kissing without kissing?
>>
>>940602
Remember that we learned this Kiss Spell only by spending two days being really persuasive and seductive and then infusing a normal kiss with magic.
And when we learned the Fireworks spell by coming up with a clever new use for prestidigitation
And when we learned greater reanimate by practicing lesser reanimate on bigger bodies until it finally worked.
>>
>>940636
Those were all intuitive ways of using new magic. Repeatedly using the same spell with nothing changing will accomplish nothing.
>>
>>940636

Those are derivative spells not too different from the spells that spawned them. At best we would get a faster acting/stronger effect kiss but without actually developing something new. Hence why I said odds are that if it exists, all we would get is a better charm kiss instead of something new like a hypnotic gaze or passively enthralling pheromones
>>
>>940647

Maybe we could try pushing that same warm feeling through our fingertips while touching someone instead of through a kiss though, would probably come out weaker but seems like a good start to deviation

With him taken care of, you then rifle through the mayor's desk. Thankfully, it seems the mayor was not a very clever man -- or pig -- as you find several letters within from Leonard. Not only that, but there is a map here, with several areas written upon it. It seems he was directly involved in several bribes to keep himself fat and rich with gold paid to have him and the guards of Bridge Town look another way.

Speaking of which, you find a bag of gold! Five hundred coins. He won't be needing these...

You suddenly hear a loud noise and footsteps as the mayor returns to his building, along with his personal guard! You look at the man on the floor, unconscious.

Plus, IIRC infusing the kiss with magic was an option that Damashi provided to US while we were using conventional methods to seduce Ben.
And using lesser reanimate on bigger bodies was something Elder Grey suggested to US after we asked her to teach us.

Point being, it seems that Damashi may have been trying to encourage us to be creative.
So maybe we should all make a concerted effort to start suggesting new uses for our existing powers instead of just instantly voting for the simple, non-magical approach.

You look at the door as it begins to open and you put your hands together. A simple Forceful Push slams it back shut, and knocks everything off of the mayor's shelf alongside it. You then make for the open window you climbed through originally and leap out!

But not before making sure you had your additional evidence.

As you make your way around front, you find Merriam and Samson, who are in the back of a crowd that is forming outside the mayor's office, primarily due to who is in front of it. Your eyes go wide as a large, perhaps seven-foot-tall man wearing armor that shines like silver and is lined with gold knocks down the front door with a single kick. He is accompanied by several similarly-armored men, all of whom arrived on large war horses.

That's when Ben touches your arm. You look at him in surprise. "Ben! What is this?"

"I found them on the road," he explains. "They're paladins!"

Your eyes go wide and you swallow. 'Paladins?!' Bless his heart, you know he only meant well, BUT PALADINS?!

You hear shouting and a burst of light from within the building. The crowd mutters and whispers, when suddenly the mayor is thrown through the window and onto the street!

The massive paladin walks outside, casually strolling up to him. He grabs the p'orc by the back of his head and lifts him up with one arm, displaying incredible, perhaps divine-granted strength.

"Your mayor has broken the LAW!" he shouts in a voice that booms like thunder. He holds up the scroll given to him by Ben. "In accordance with the holy scripts, and on the authority granted to me by the king and the lawful and good gods of this realm, I, SIGMUND VENSTROYER of the FIRST FAITH, hereby strip this man of all ranks, titles, and rights! For consorting with dark beings, for conspiring to commit murder and kidnapping of innocents, for exploitation of his elected position and other crimes, I sentence him and all who conspired with him TO DEATH!"

He takes out his massive, shining sword and holds it up to catch the light. "Let all who speak on his behalf -- or offer further testimony as proof before men and gods of this crimes -- step forward and SPEAK!"

The MC was described as not giving pleasure to others when she didn't get something in return, wasn't she? That's what i'm basing this off of. She could of done it and got something, but just knocking him out saved her from doing it.

They wield Holy Magic on top of being extremely potent warriors, are sanctioned by the state to dispense the law and operate with nigh-impunity and are, generally speaking, zealous as all hell.

You hand Ben your evidence and push him forward, encouraging him to present it to the paladins. He walks through the crowd. "I do!" he says.

"You, boy?" Sigmund says. "You first told us of these crimes. Have you more to say to condemn him?"

"These are his," Ben says, handing them to another paladin. The man looks them over, and nods at Sigmund.

"You have done well on this day, young one," Sigmund says to Ben. "What is your name?"

"Benjamen Cutter," he says, puffing out his chest with pride.

"Know that you helped bring about the end of a great evil on this day, Benjamen Cutter." He looks down at the mayor. "Have you any words before I send you to meet your fiery, eternal torment, filth?"

"I WAS FRAMED!"

"Noted." The paladin stomps on the mayor's back and lifts up his sword. "May the gods have more mercy on you than I." With one swing, he decapitates the fat head and sends it rolling. With the deed done, the paladin approaches Ben and places a hand on his shoulder. "You did right today, lad. I hope we will meet again."

"Sir," Ben says with a smile, bowing his head. The paladins quickly mop up the remainder of the mayor's guards for questioning and (likely) later execution as the town becomes alive with gossip and rumor. Samson walks forward and shakes Ben's hand, publically showing the new alliance and friendship between the Cutters and Diggers.

You, however, linger in the back, careful to avoid the paladins. You don't doubt why they are TRULY in this region. Sigmund Venstroyer is a name you have heard before, one as steeped in military honor as it is in zealoutry, and you should take care to avoid such a man.

Eventually, Merriam, Ben and Samson gather around you. You look at the paladins as they slowly march out of town; it seems they will handle the further questioning of the guard outside of town, so it may be safe to be here for the night.

With the day done and the mayor exposed, the four of you retire to the tavern for drinks and celebration. The Bridge Town tavern has seen many an adventuring party, and yours is still young and fresh. Drinks and toasts are shared as the bar wench drops them off.

"So, who's going to run the farm?" Ben asks Samson.

"My father. He'll hire help, and run the mine legitimately." He drinks and then sets it down. "And I'll help, too, that is..."

"That is?" Merriam asks.

"Well, I was hoping I could come with you guys," he says. "If you're really serious about this adventuring thing."

You set down your drink. "Well, what are you good at?"

"I'm kind of a scrapper, but I can get things done," Samson says. "I know how to handle myself in a fight."

"I think he could come with us," Merriam says, apparently liking the idea.

"I owe you a lot," Samson says to you. "I can pay you at the farm... but I'd rather pay you by keeping an eye on your backs."

You rub your chin in thought. Though you have worked hard on making Merriam your own, she still clearly harbors some affection for Samson. He may be short, but he's a good brawler, and it could suit you to have another bodyguard... especially if you give this one the same treatment you've given Ben.

His shoulders slump. "Yeah, alright. I'll make sure to hold up our agreement, too, since you're my boss now."

Nodding at him, you take another drink. He decides to stand up and head home for the evening before his family grows worried. He bids you three goodnight and heads out. Merriam seems somewhat disappointed, but she perks up quickly once you get another drink in her hands. Both she and her brother are hardy, but quickly turn rosy-cheeked and bubbly due to the drinks.

Merriam laughs and leans her head on your shoulder, hugging your arm close to her chest. Ben, though he has eyes mostly for you, cannot help but admire some of the other women in the tavern. After all, Bridge Town is located along a major trade route that cuts through the forest, so its taverns attract a fairly diverse crowd, from travellers to adventurers and more.

There's chat aplenty in the tavern, and rumors from all four corners of the kingdom in here. Some tidbits you pick up:

>In the west, along one of the other major trade routes, a discovery was made that a large shipment of grain was contaminated with an infectious disease. This has caused lots of trouble along that specific trade route between the human and elven capitals as a food crisis is beginning to emerge as other foodstuffs are in suddenly high demand.

>There have been rumors recently of strange sightings of a red-skinned horned figure who drives a strange boat through bridge town at odd hours of the night on seemingly random nights, and apparently offers deals too insidious to pass up.

>A local wizard has lost track of his fire elemental due to a mishap when it escaped from this lab. Random fires in the forest have been observed ever since, and no one has been able to track it down.

>A lizardman from the swamp, apparently an exile from his clan, is currently sitting in the Bridge Town jail after being thrown out of every bar in town.

>Recently, rumors of sightings of a strange headless woman, apparently killed by the ghost of her husband, in the forest near town has terrified some widows in town.

>The town has been plagued with snakes recently ever since a passing snake merchant dropped a crate of them and they escaped.

>A local drunken monk has been causing trouble, and is now sharing a cell with the aforementioned lizardman.

As interesting as some of these rumors are, you find yourself drawn back to your table. Both Ben and Merriam are well and tipsy at this point, but during your absence, a lovely blonde elven girl has approached Ben and is chatting him up, apparently having been quite impressed with his earlier interraction with the paladins. Slightly past the point of knowing better, Ben is quite taken with the girl sitting in his lap.

'I've already had him. I might as well let him have some fun, if he can find it. After all, he's still mine... And soon, so too will his sister be. Speaking of which... I did make a promise.' You take Merriam by the hand and lead her upstairs, leaving a few coins for the room. Once inside, you pin her to the wall and forcefully kiss her rosy lips, tasting the liquor on them.

"Mary," she gasps when you break the kiss. "Oh, Mary!"

You suckle on her neck as you start to strip her. The tipsy girl moans as her skin is exposed; you take full advantage of her excited state to quickly get her on the bed.

'I've held myself back from this,' you think, licking your lips. 'Two siblings in two days... What a treat.'

Your own clothes are shed soon after as Merriam looks up at you with nervous but lustful eyes. Before she met you, she never knew anything like this could happen, but ever since you planted the idea in her head it has grown like a flower into full bloom, and to top off this metaphor, you're more than ready to be the bee and make some sweet honey.

She gasps as your body falls upon her, hair spilling all around her face as your bodies writhe against each other. Her moans fill the air, sweaty skin rubbing and embracing, lips tasting and tongues exploring. "Mary!" she says desperately, forcing you to look at her. "I want... Can I see your true face again?"

A smile comes to your lips as you look down at the blushing girl. With a simple word and a gesture with your fingers, your true self is once more revealed. She stares into your eyes, awestruck as you do this. Perhaps it is the wine and such in her system, perhaps it is genuine affection, but she whispers, "So perfect..."

You descend upon her and come to know her as well as you know her brother. And, true to your word, she does scream your name.

You know the drill

>100% Take; do only that which gives you pleasure; dominate her
>75% take/25% give; do a little bit for her but not too much

I'm assuming, based on the one time we rolled for ben in he past.

High rolls meant he did well, low rolls meant he did poorly in the fight with the undead. Given that as the hero of the hour, he's probably not getting into a fight, this die roll is either a) random encounter stuff, or b) for his social.

If it's random encounters, what we roll doesn't matter, cause the table is hardly delineated in that way. But if its for social then it's probably for how well he does with Elf girl. Given that we want to stay in control of him, we don't want him to do too well with her.

With any luck he strikes out horribly, and then we get to have our cake and eat it too. That is, -having- Ben be devoted only to us, while -eating- Mirriam upstairs.

Hence, low rolls.

Since our primary school is necromancy... How far fetched is the idea of becoming a lich (or demi-lich)?
>>
>>942223
Necromany is not her "primary school."
>>
>>942223
>>942232
It is currently only her most advanced school of magic, and that's because people chose for an extended stay with the necromancy trainer. That is not grounds to call her a full-fledged necromancer, nor does that mean it will ever remain her focus for the rest of her career. There's still at least a dozen more schools to get formal training in, and I intend for Sirena to be as holistic a sorceress as possible, so don't start jumping to assumptions like that.
>>
>>942223
Necromancy is only the school everyone decided to study more of first, and honestly, necromancer quests have been done to death. I'd rather us find a different way to immortality.

My personal preference is maybe finding a way to become a succubus as the end goal, but not everyone seems to agree.
>>
>>942232
>>942245
>>942246

No need for us to become the lich either to be honest, we could have lich-liutenants, bount to serve us.

Becoming a succubus could be quite cool.

>>
Why the hell does everyone have a hardon for thralldom? Mariam is lerning magic she will figure it out her and been are good people and thralldom is one of the few truly evil schools of magic. Necromancy can be explaned but they will leave over thralldom. Besides noone ever built an army or made lasting change with it. Thralldome is a cheap trick for two bit enchantresses for use on the week willed by the week willed
>>
>>942265
People have a thing for necromancy and/or thralldom because they want to be a minion master who can manipulate people or otherwise doesn't have to do her own work. They want to exert control over other beings in the most direct way possible.

The problem is that both can be worked around, plus it's kinda boring just being able to charm or swarm everything we see.
>>
>>942265
We're going for subtle manipulator with slight magical augmentation. I think we're really just trying to see if we can't learn something that's similar in power to the magic kiss only without the physical contact.
>>
>>942268
I would prefer Sirena to be fully versatile and do some of everything. I want her to be a goddess of destruction, of control, of life, of death, of transformation, of preservation, and so on.
>>
>>942266
>plus it's kinda boring just being able to charm or swarm everything we see.
Your opinion. Boredom comes from a lack of challenge, I am positive Damashi will give us one, regardless of our skillset.

>>942274
>of life, of death,
usually death includes life. The only power over life we need is ending it and bending it.
For this I want to see if we can't get an agreement from gentlemen beyond the tapestry of creation we beheld at Francis'.
>>
>>942223
>>942232
>>942245
>>942246
Necromancy isn't our primary school. We just happened to have a teacher of that school, and no teacher of others.
>>
>>942281
Hey, Francis counts as our Evocation teacher, even though we only got two Evocation spells out of him from one day/night of horsing around. That said, he did say we can come back at any time and get new Evocation spells in exchange for "a little fun."

Beyond that, we have two other trainers to formally start working with (Vincent the thrallherd and Herbert the alchemist), to say nothing of anyone we might meet in the fae wilds north of the swamp.
>>
>>942285

I do have teachers planned for each school; it's just a matter of meeting them and learning.
>>
>>942253
>>942254

I'm pretty sure that giving up your soul only happens if you make deals with the one and only Death and if you are stupid and make a soul deal with a high tier entity.

And there's nothing wrong with becoming a demon, it's just a matter of how demons are seen in each setting. Sometimes demons are rightfull treated as the bane of existence, sometimes they coexist with humanity, and etc. Depending how powerful demons are in this setting and how are treated we could end up becoming a demon or making a pact with one and nothing bad could come from that.
>>
>>942297
You are better prepared then fuckin Bismarck
>>
>>942312
>>942310
Yes I pulled that comparison out of my arse. The man was badass nonetheless. As are you.
>>
>>942310
Giving up your humanity is never worth it
>>
>>942324

It isn't worth it only if you are the final boss, because those guys who becomes gods to achieve ultimate power loses to guys with regular swords and sorcery.

But if you are one of the "heroines" such as Sirena here, losing humanity only means you gain stronger powers and there's always the option of becoming also the ruler of demons/vampires/liches/etc if ruling humans doesn't work.
>>
>>942297
I wonder: if people want to master every spell in the world, will you let that happen? (or let's say 80% because I suppose some things are basically incompatible)

I find D&D thing of having to drop schools ito be nice, knowing everything is boring (even though I know we have a long way to go).
>>
>>942339
I find the concept of having to drop spells for new ones to be not so fun.

If you know something, you know it. You shouldn't have to drop the knowledge of one spell cause you learned a new one.
>>
>>942339
>>942343
I doubt we'll be forced to "drop spells." You don't just forget that knowledge for no reason. Plus, Sirena is on record for having immense magical potential, so possibly, given enough time and resources, she potentially could learn every recorded spell that's out there.
>>
>>942339

I think that would be a problem only if we keep consistent the rate at which we get new spells. So far Sirena has shown to be able to learn two new spells a day and she picks almost instantly the know how and basics of each school.

I for one bet that once she starts to get into intermediate spells, she will be forced to actually stick to her masters for days to even learn a single spell
>>
>>942324
ugh, strictly depends on your definition of humanity. Human form? First thing to go out of the window at best. Human emotions? Well, step by step and not everything of them is still not a deal breaker. Human thinking? Virtually impossible without breaking narrative here.
Point is, for true greatness there are always things we need to leave behind. For mastery there is always something that needs to be given up.
>>942338
A good ol' tropes.
They work nice in fiction when becoming god really should mean you won. End of the line. Also we are by definition the heroine. Because these days the word is interchangeable with protagonist.

>>942339
>If you know something, you know it.
Until you stop practicing it. We are sorceress. We cast by feeling the magic itself, if we forget the 'right' feeling of a spell, we have forgotten it.

In the morning, after freshening up and redressing, and reapplying your disguise spell, you pause at the door of your room to look back at Merriam. Disheveled red hair, blankets clinging to her body and even in her sleep she seems restless. This is the state you leave her in; you'll be kind and let her sleep in, at least until you check on Ben. You are sure to lock the door just to be safe -- you never know, in a town like this.

Ben is not downstairs. Inquiring at the bar tells you that an elf helped him to a room last night -- and neither were seen since. A small smile grows on your lips as you amuse yourself with the thought of Ben drunkenly seducing an elf. It seems unlikely, unless the elf has low standards (for an elf, mind you). Usually an elf wouldn't be caught having a drunken one night stand with some farmboy local, they're far too arrogant for it.

Still, as you walk upstairs and and find his door to be open, you do indeed discover an elf with him, but not in the way you thought you would. Ben lies asleep in his bed, snoring away much like his sister, and sitting alongside him is an elf, fully clothed, alongside a bow and quiver.

She looks up at you with auburn eyes beneath light blonde hair. "Looking for someone?" she asks with a knowingly arrogant smirk.

"I've found him, but now I've found you as well," you say, placing your hands on your hips. "The question is, what to do with you?"

"Thanking me would be a good start," she grins. "After all, I made sure he made it safely to a room and wasn't taken advantage of while you were otherwise... preoccupied." You cock a brow and she points to her shapely, knife-like ears. "I have good hearing."

"So I see."

"I mean, anyone could have done something to him. Robbed him blind, taken him to bed... Thankfully, I'm not quite so simple-minded. I prefer playing a longer game."

'Well, you are an elf, you have that luxury with most things in life,' you think

My idea was to learn enough necromancy to make our skeleton useful, control ghosts, do something with resurrection and learn enfeeblement/choking dust.
We have several necro spells, but they're not really functional enough to use for dungeon crawling.
Once we get our necro to where its actually useful, I say we focus mostly on thralldom/illusion and becoming a NON-demonic succubus.

On that note, I think a fair thing would be that whenever we visit Francis, we also visit Albert since they're both in the same area.
