Faction: Stormbeast House
The Stormbeast house are a cadet brach of the Dragonfist Dynasty (originally the Mutt Clan), they used to be a band of goblins and humans raised on the the streets of Dragon's Tomb that turned into farmers thanks to Mutt Dragonfist. The Mutt, an urchin turned soldier managed to kill a dragon with one punch allowing his clan and his dynasty to be respected among the Roggarians. The Stormbeast Family isn't the richest nor the most powerful but they still are respected after all this years due the continuous effort of many members of the family: They produce tons of food due thanks to their priestly hunters, farmers and tamers; Muttville, the Fortress island is still an essential river port of Roggar and all the temples that exist around in their feudal lands make their land a place that all adherents to the pantheon need to visit at least once in their lifetime. The last Dragonking of the Family was one of the last pure blooded heirs to Mutt the first and with his death the cadet branch the Stormbeasts took over the feudal lands.

For my faction project I have been developing the most Northern Zhong land I aquired and searching for harvestable materials. This is mainly due to its low population density so more people will be attracted to live there with the prospect of fortune.

For my council project I am going to see just how close the relationship is between the high elves and the Paitrans. Information such as this could be usefull to see just how big the big picture is regarding their influence.

Your husband, Zal-epit Pashutu of Petrekshan, has completed the project of creating the Great Forge in Altodominio. He has brought the southern techniques of working Purebronze with the use of blast furnaces - Altodominio will be the source of the highest-quality Purebronze in Roggar, with access to raw materials needed being close to the town. Industry will make it grow into a city over time and bring you great profits.
>>1018663
You built a proper fortress at Orodost! The Kingsguard didn't mix well with your warriors though, for one thing they're generally too busy guarding the King.

You've set up the hold of Everpeak at the promised land, where after digging you found deposits of a new lesser magic metal - Angsteen. It is pink and useful for magical purposes, but has low physical durability.

No success in development.
From what you can see, diplomatic relations are good. The High Elves have helped us more than once in a time of need. The Sword of Juras was returned to Trusted Defence thanks to their help, the recent goblin plague was cured just last year thanks to their priests, they aided us in more than one war.

Priests, mages and farmers worked to combat the Darkblight that was spread east of Lakton. Progress is going well and the cloud of Dark energy is being gradually destroyed.

In the Imperial Capital, on Abadid the 26th, 622, the Kings of the Empire are gathered. The priests have determined that armed duel will determine who the next Emperor will be.

The contestants are the following:

>Vodmus Andarak of Roggar, 58
>Leor Ezgielan of Paitras, 30
>Brangim Kragnan of Kragnaal, 85
>Harabris Ondalan of the Ondalia, 31

The first two to fight will be Vodmus and Harabris. The rules are as follows - no potions, magic or anything of that nature. Both will wear tunics and fight with a short sword and small shield(which for Harabris' size is a medium shield essentially).
The fighter who first manages to score two clear hits first will be the winner. Killing or maiming the opponent is severely discouraged as you are Kings and it could cause diplomatic issues.
The swords are made of steel, but are blunted - you can still harm someone, but you'd have to be trying in order to kill someone.

The Imperial Capital has Combat Grounds which include an arena similar to the Gladiatorum. That is where the fight is now about to COMMENCE

Blight is bad

Faction project:
Learn the secret of paper.
As per agreement with the Akeshisu of the pirate kingdom the Councilors will send a sizable delegation (bearing nice gifts) of educated men to learn the secret of the mysterious substance known only as “paper”.
Also, if they have techniques such as woodblock printing (movable types are probably far into the future) then I'll naturally be very interested in learning all about it (if I roll really well or something).

Council project:
The voluntary enforced piety act
As the Gods of our world are very real, ensuring a good relationship with The Pantheon is of the utmost importance to the state.
This laws will give the lords and leaders of our realm the right to take steps to ensure religious observance within their own domains. Those that fail to properly participate in religious worship, attend the religious festivals and other similar pious activities* will have to pay (small) fines. The money from these fines shall then be used for schools, poorhouses and other charitable institutions.

Trusted Defence, a great fortress featuring Academy, library and the Grand Temple of the Knights of Juras
Barnabus' Rest, trade hub featuring silver mine
Foothold, fortress featuring academy

Human assets:
Highly educated Councilors and Advisors
The Trusted Guard (aprox 3000 men)
The Wolf Brigade (aprox 500 men)
Knights of Juras (aprox 2000 riders)

The glorious heritage of both the Advisors and the Councilors, too much to list

The Plague and the subsequent Zhongian-Paitran war for Roggar affected the lives of many, among whom were the Lectre family. A set of nobles from Dragonstomb with a slightly sketchy background and somewhat... peculiar tastes, their businesses fell apart piece by piece as the Zhongian army occupied the city. Eventually, they paid to be smuggled from the city and fled, walking for miles before stumbling on the charred ruins of Riverhugger. Settling down for the night, they realised this was to be their new home. Not knowing the old name of the village, they gave it their own: Starling.

Having built up their new home successfully (as well as surviving an ecounter with a being of the Vast), William Lectre supposedly passed away peacefully at home, secure in the knowledge that the future was bright.

One of his sons, Chilton, ruled the town in his place and made efforts to connect with the elite of Roggar. In addition, thanks to talks with a centaur clan based within the kingdom, the Lectre family began the only public carriage business around.

Of course, things never stay so good for long. One of Chilton's sons, Anthony, spent years as a mere troublemaker, getting drunk and harassing people. After one particular journey, he returned home speaking of strange places and sights, telling his father all he knew. The next night, he tried to take the life of his brother, Mikkel.

Mikkel, enraged by the assault in the presence of his wife Runhild of Erden, brutally killed Anthony for the attack and disposed of the corpse. He himself disappeared after insulting the pantheon at a celebration hosted by the emperor.

His son, Dancy, lead after this disappearance. He built up even more connections and businesses than before, finding success as his grandfather did. His brother, Faison, fought honorbaly for many years in the Ezirin and Zhongian conflicts under the rule of King Erden, though he died after being outraged by the unforseen return of the one and only William Lectre, now a demon. Dancy himself did not die until many years later, simply of old age.

Jacob Lectre simply continued his forefathers' work, despite some mild issues with the gnomish tinker guild of Roggar. He left the family businesses to one of his sons, Gideon, when he felt too old to continue.

Assets: -Gideon Lectre and family
-Traditional loyal workers, small number of blacksmiths, handful of warriors
-The Village of Starling

To the surprise of nobody at all, the past two decades have been yet more work on the peculiar near-modern stonework that was found the LAST time I reported a success.

As for the council, I hear talk that some of the lizardfolk have banded together bigger than before. Sounds like an excellent opportunity for Roggar to step in and make a new economic ally.

The continent has been at peace after this last war, but news has come that the Akeshisu humans have revolted against their sea elf overlords recently, pushing them away from their territory, though fighting will continue.
Emperor Kragnan is negotiating with the centaurs to have them brought back into the Empire.

We should focus on using our Fleets to help push the Pirates off of Akeshisu and actual invasion of the pirate mainlands will be unlikely with the water titan there.
first send agents down to the islands to learn how big the pirate fleet is.
While that's going on we can get certain war assets onto the ships that we know will be useful in ship based combat.

The Akeshisu is a noble and kind people. We must assist them in every way.
I suggest sending out entire navy to engage the monstrous sea elves in open battle.
We should also dispatch a military force to assist the Akeshisu forces on land as well as provide them with training and Roggarian know-how. This force will also bring a fair amount of money with them that might be donated to the Akeshisu lords who will accept Roggarian friendship and protection (ergo vassalization).
>>1019525
While watching a play in the privacy of her fortified estate, the Duchess Isabel Godric Neru became the victim of a fiendish act of terror.
One of the actors, performing an elaborate sword dance, suddenly plunged his blade into the heart of the noble lady, dealing her a fatal blow.
He then shouted: "Ding dong, the witch is dead! The Advisors shall rise once more!
The tree of freedom must be watered with..." before being hacked apart by the blades of multiple bodyguards.
The Council of the Advisors and the Councilors all agree this was clearly the actions of an isolated individual madman with no ties to any group, external or internal. No investigation required.

Supporting this approach.
The envoys will be dispatched on our quickest vessel, attempting to use a Seal of Commerce to pose as traders.
Our navy will set out on the same time, needing far more time to get there as a big fleet of warships can't match a light vessel in a contest of going from A to B.
Our legionaires will provide the brave natives with both training and direct military assistance in defending their land. Our navy will take on the pirates at sea wherever they can be found.

In return for our ships, troops and gold we will request an alliance and perhaps a strategic marriage or two.

Aagberaad is almost lost to the troll invasion in the North, which has prompted more Imperial reinforcements to be sent - the front is now becoming more stable and we expect to turn the tide soon.
The word from the Akeshisu is that the Pirate King was slain and most human lands have been liberated - the Serene Republic of Gajaxlan is also providing support to the humans fighting the sea elves.

The Councilors will send soldiers (14 knights, 200 men at arms and a 1000 faction troops), some gold, some councilors to serve as military advisors and undertake further fundraising for the young Akeshisu nation.
These are to be either ferried by allied ships, privately hired ships or smuggled in. Any option will be utilized.

The procession leads towards the palace, where on a terrace the King is speaking. Lined up on the square before the palace are warriors - Akeshisu humans, Black Orcs and Demons, with a few lizan in one end.On the balcony the King is flanked by several figures, likely the leaders of these soldiers, judging by their races.
The King congradulates the soldiers on their hard-fought victory and announces the beginning of a new era of greatness for this land. His speech continues for a while before he goes into the palace as entertainers begin performances - the festival is at its peak as the people cheer, but we have a job here. The Palace guards allow our leaders to enter without weapons - we meet the King in the audience hall where we had once spoken to the local regent.
"Ah, Roggar! Welcome! I am Sayo Akajima, King of the Akeshisu. After almost sixty years, I have returned to my homeland. You, along with others, aided us in reaching victory, so I welcome you."
He sits on a chair and has servants bring chairs for you as well.

A black orc standing next to the demon nods slightly.
>>
>>1023121
"That foul beast is still at large. We slew all the kraken we could find and have crushed the power of the pirates, but even our forces are limited, so we could not push to take the entire Archipelago yet. As for the Storm Dragons, Kirosopton has long since consumed them. It is what gave him the powers of Storm that allowed him to use the mists to his advantage."
>>
>>1023142
"Sad. Eh, I've heard that eh the Akeshisu have these things similar to knights, except with a uh, more western and oriental vibe. Is this any true?"
>>
>>1023157
"Yes, you could say so - they are called samurai, our greatest warriors, wearing the finest armors, proficient with many weapons. From our allies we've learned many new things - the new demonblades that the Tiango made proved themselves on the battlefield, our own great bows struck true, while the orcs brought their armor. Together against them, the pirates stood no chance on land."
"Well, it seems we've dragged on for quite a while. Other diplomats are waiting now - I thank you again and bid you farewell"
We leave the palace. The festivities are winding down now, it's evening and the summer sun is setting. We find quarters/sleep on the ship for the night. You've now got the next day free to roam and do dice rolls. Don't overdo it, focus on enjoying yourselves. Learning new tech and stuff like that will take a high DC."

Cogs are now being built in Roggar! The cog is a tall and sturdy ship that can travel both along coasts and in seas while carrying cargo, passengers or even weaponry - the base design is fairly simple and "castles" can be added to the fore and stern, places for archers and mages to be able to shoot from. Cogs are still primarily transport ships, but this design has a lot of potential.

Great news for the Empire on two fronts! The trolls have been defeated, Emperor Kragnan personally led forces into the North. It was discovered that the dwarves of House Lightsteel, the first to fall to the conquests of the Kragnans, generations ago, had survived in the North and were teaching the trolls their ways, using them to strike at the Empire. This threat has been dealt with, though it cost the Principality of Aagberaad many casualties - the Emperor agreed to the idea of a union being formed between Kraeverag and Aagberad.
The other good bit of news is that the Steppes are once more united under King Horkom Lursarin, who claims relation to the first Centaur King. The Kingdom of the Steppes, now calling itself the Kingdom of Lursar, has agreed to join the Empire.

Work is slow on the Ezirni railroad idea. Few make it.

Advances in science in the last few year have allowed better surgical treatment thanks to the study of bodies of all races from Roggar. Metallurgy allows us to use blast furnaces to work bigger pieces of metal now - smiths are able to make small "plates" of steel, which armourers have fashioned into an armor called a coat of plates - put on top of the traditional hauberk of chain links, this gives an additional layer of protection to those who can afford it(knights and lords for now).

Better living standards for my people.
We need to make our people /comfy/ again.

"Slashing both our Trusted Guard and Knights of Juras in half should allow us to safely lower taxes for the common people. Improving the lot of the common folk should be the priority of any ruler."

Council project:
Reforming the system of punishment. Less use of prisons, more use of other, more economical means.

"Lengthy imprisonment is both inhumane and costly, nor does it do much to reform the prisoners. Neither of these things are acceptable within our realm.
Instead lesser criminals will be either given corporal punishment (pillory, cangue, lashings etc), community service (such as maintaining sections of road or being responsible for keeping the local poorhouse supplied with food) or a appropriate fine.
For greater crimes stricter punishment will naturally see use. Confiscation of property, heavy labor or more forceful corporal punishment. Prisons are also still available should the judge see it appropriate for the situation.
For the most severe of crimes execution (decapitation or similar quick method) or the amputation of a limb (far less expensive and can argued to be more humane than locking somebody up for life) will be utilized."

Once again we will be searching the Northern Zhong land we aquired for resources so this may attract settlers. Surely the land is useful for more than just farming and growing?

As for the council Project, we'll be taking off from the Divatas childrens operation they have done for the past 20 years to smuggle humans out of Ezirin as a "Underground Railroad" we believe this could bring people that can tell us weaknesses in the Mightys nations while draining him of manpower.

This came after you sent agents to study alchemical secrets in Zhongian and you lost contact with them.
In other news, we've had several instances of arsons, including the destruction of one prized high elven yacht, formerly owned by the GTG.
>>1023871
Comfiness increases as your lands prosper under a lessened tax burden. Your justice reform makes prisons a net profit for Roggar in economic terms!
>>1023879
Alas, those hinterlands are good for little more than herding and growing. They're a pleasant retreat, but not every plot of land has a pot of gold underneath it.

Rods, nets, traps, spears, lures - the tools of the fisher are many. The Godsjaw sea becomes contested waters for fishermen from the Empire who journey out on boats called "drifters" to catch fish that are only found in deeper waters within the sea. Fishing can be a very lucrative business indeed, for those blessed by Gyolas!

And so it was on a warms summer day that Locktus passed from this world, he never managed to re-adjust after leaving prison and seemed confused and somewhat impatient.
His death was attributed to a summer flu that was common in those parts but rarely took life.
His body now lays in rest in his dorm at Trusted Defence where all my come and see a flawed yet undeniably great man.
It was his wish for his body to cremated and for his ashes to be spread in the river near an old burnt out home. So he may be set free in the place he was born. And if the state will have it the service will be open to the public.

We should focus on the building of Castles along our new Zhong border, we can also focus on helping improve roads southwards through the Centaurs steppes creating small trading forts for rest along the way.

Apologies for the late report on the most recent project undertaken by my people and I, but I have understandably been busy with other things. Two decades of mediocrity has not done my temperament any good; if the fellow I placed in charge of this doesn't show up soon with at least decent news, I swear by the gods, heads will roll.

Ah, yes, here we are. As our efforts regarding the recovery of historical artifacts were put aside temporarily after last time, the people of Starling have been focusing on growth and expansion. With any luck, the team responsible for surveying the closest portion of the steppe for a potential new settlement will return good news as well.

As for my role on the council, I shall spend my time worming my way in- I mean, working with, various traders of Gajaxlan. My recent encounter with them on our last expedition as a group has made me desire a portion of their economy - as such, I will be buying, negotiating for, and simply otherwise gaining various lizardfolk owned businesses. The law-years established a while back will ensure things go smoothly.

And, of course, these new acquisitions will be run by good Lectre men. Merely to keep the strain off the kingdom, you see.

While an entertaining piece of theater indeed it was quite historically inaccurate.
The very implication that we Councilors would engage in clandestine activities makes my heart boil.

This, without the Centaur road and trading fort shit. We just fought a war against them. We're not gonna give them roads and trading forts just so you can get your rebellious buddies back.

>>

I can agree with this, border forts at most. The centuars can make their own roads without us butting in.

But building roads and forts on their steppes does not sound like a good idea.

I was under the impression that this quest was slow going and then 20 odd years pass while I was entertaining myself elsewhere, this is just a pain in the ass.
If you will accept them, my last two projects would be ministry in the northern principalities, and improvements on Astral techniques respectively.

Faction: Silverhand Cartel

After the fall of the Ashwood dynasty centuries ago, the Silverhand family grew reclusive, withdrawing from politics where they could, and leading increasingly private, isolated lives within their family estate, even giving away ownership of their galentine mine to remove themselves from politics. As they withdrew from the public eye however, they became increasingly paranoid and phobic of the other influential families of the realm after the destruction of the Ashwood clan. Withdrawing from all fields in which they were involved, they focused solely upon that which they could trust completely: Golems. Each successive generation of Silverhands did their damndest to improve upon the last's golems, making them stronger, more efficient, more durable, and miraculously, more intelligent.

While not truly intelligent (and somewhat questionable in appearance), the latest Willing and Able Intelligent Feminine Utility golems, or W.A.I.F.U. golems for short, are intelligent enough to 'think' and make simple decisions based upon pre-programmed parameters and set subroutines. Utterly incapable of non-programmed autonomous operation, they are able to be directly controlled by Silverhand golemancers. They operate via Galentine circuitry and batteries throughout their bronze bodies, resembling those of beautiful women cast in metal. They do not speak, and move in a manner that is just shy of true human motion, set apart by the odd tics each golem develops through use.

By sheer luck, a malfunction with one of the earlier clay models caused a detonation which led to the discovery of cast iron by the Silverhands, who came to develop the techniques and technology to utilize it in place of it's forged counterpart.

Led by the ambitious and glory-seeking Krieger Silverhand, a masterful golemancer himself, the old clan is set upon carving out a place for themselves in the world, now backed by perfectly loyal subordinates, from whom they need not fear betrayal.

Assets:
>a small manor in Ranger territory
>a small stockpile of galentine
>115 able golemancers and 15 expert golemancers
>3 prototype bronze W.A.I.F.U. golems stronger than the average man and able to perform basic tasks and make simple decisions based upon programming
>knowledge of advanced golemancy and how to produce more waifu golems
>technological understanding of cast iron and its production

Create a cast iron generation of waifu golem

Success on expansion, message me for details.
Your law-years have secured contracts with the Gajaxlani merchants that'll allow Lectre business to have priority in trade between Roggar and Akeshisu.
>>1035049
No major progress on either. You've focused on recovering from losses you took in your astral scouts department.
>>1036589
You settled people between your two ports, creating a new port town - Portland.
Thousands of settlers in Randalfville were found mysteriously dead, their bodies rotten and disfigured. Since then these accidents started spreading to the nearby cities in your duchies and from the busy port cities on to ships or caravans. A new plague, some say, its cause uncertain, but its result final - swiftly spreading and killing many.
>>1037574
You've refined your cast iron production and have created the third generation of female companion golems from cast iron - in every way superior to the bronze models you had before. Production is also faster and easier compared to before.
