In ages past men lived simpler lives - they would hunt, farm, fight and always respect the might of the Old Gods. Shamans led the clans with their elemental magic - so it was for many generations, before history was ever written down. The great hero Rog united a dozen human clans into a tribe that would form the foundation of our future Kingdom. One day Rog mysteriously vanished - then came the Great Storm - when it passed, the shamans could no longer feel the presence of the Gods and had lost the source of their magic.
The 1st Century After the Storm saw us becoming a proper civilization, beginning to accept the New Gods of the Pantheon and adopting technologies and customs from the east.
By the end of the 2nd century we were beginning to catch up to Paitras as larger wars were being fought.
The 3rd century saw the fall of Paitras and the rise of the Norse, with Roggar filling in much of the void left. By the end of the century most of Paitras had been reunited.
The 4th century saw the Pantheonic faith strengthen, defeating barbarians in both the north and south.
The 5th century started and ended with devastating plagues. 409-411 saw Roggar engaged in wars with itself and its neighbours, which ended in the foundation of the Holy Pantheonic Empire and an ensuing Golden Age for decades.
The 6th century was a century of blood and ash - the crusade against the Ashland Demons ended in the death of all who were there to witness it on either side. An invasion of the Kingdom of Ezirin led to wars across the continent that shook the Empire to the core and ushered in a new Dark Age. Following that, Roggar recovered and began progressing once more.
In recent decades we attacked the Barbarian King again after he annexed the Steppe Kingdom, forcing him to release it after both sides took many casualties. We aided the Akeshisu in rebelling against the Sea elf Pirates. The current Emperor of the HPE is Brangim Kragnan.
In the last few years, a deadly plague has been spreading, starting outside Gregariapol and now killing millions across Roggar and starting to reach beyond.

The Gnomes are a proud people, inventing many of the technologies used by the empires of today. The Tinker's guild of the dwarven mountains wanted to get rid of some misfits in their ranks and sent them to start a branch in Roggar. Rats. Big and small, we've found out that it's these strange, abberant ratmen that are spreading the plague. They appear to be more intelligent than normal rats or any regular animal perhaps - comparable to the direwolves that spread lycantropy decades ago, these ratmen seem semi-organized and extremely malicious. The biggest of them we've seen can reach a gnome or even a goblin's size, while the smallest are as big as a normal rat. They are stronger, faster and smarter, though, and they bring this plague with them wherever they go. They hide in hay, stow away in crates, in holes and sewers - big cities and densely populated areas are most afflicted.
Theser ratmen have already spread throughout the HPE as reports come from our neighbours that they've got the same problem. How will we deal with them?

Gather up an offering of cheeses or corpses or whatever these beasts like so we might have a chance to talk to them; I sense a military opportunity waiting to happen.

By the way, I suggest anyone who frequents any underground areas near cities be careful. Presumably, these beings will hang about wherever normal rats might.

We tried overtures and talking to them - they can't properly speak in any of our languages. Through nature magic we managed to eventually establish communications, but what the priests of Divata and Ezdar gleamed was very disturbing - they described it as a "Poison of the mind" "Sin made flesh" "Hunger unending, hatred unstoppable".

The Cult of Abagar developed a poison to use against the ratmen - they adapted to it, absorbed it and now also apply some of its effects themselves.

Measures to counter the rat plague have been enacted. Elimination squads have been deployed and have begun burning the rats out. There can be no peace - when we tried communicating with them and getting them to follow us and make peace, they tricked us into thinking they were complying, only to spring up and attack us again when we dropped our guard. Many soldiers and guardsmen died in the operation that was attempted.
The plague continues, though we've managed to stop it from speeding up and may be turning the tide slowly.

Having reached a venerable high age, the High Councilor Sharan retires peacefully, passing on the mantle of leadership.
His legacy of enacting religious enforcement laws, putting more emphasis on corporal punishment in the legal system and ruthlessly pushing for wars and foreign intervention while simultaneously slashing the military budget shall not be forgotten.

The combined council of Advisors and Councilors break out the voting booths, colored stones, pamphlets and pre-stuffed ballots. A new leader must be appointed:

1. Some saint who honestly believes in virtue and morality, hates violence
2. A dick, morals are for the weak & peasants
3. More forward thinking, not as strict about sages & doctrine
4. Strict and conservative
5. Former soldier who joined the Councilors, as much a soldier as a scholar
6. Another one from the bloodline of Commodus
7. The son/right hand man of the former Councilor
8. Something really unusual: Wonderchild-scholar, woman-scholar or WEWUZ advisors n’ sheeit.
9. Some heretic, secretly studies sorcery and all
10. “The way of the sages is a philosophy of peace. Death to all who say otherwise!”

The astronomers of the HPE and High Elf Dominion gathered in Dominas to discuss heavenly matters.
The Heavenly Cosmos is composed of various objects. The planets have a certain rotary motion in relation to each other and the Sun, which is our source of light and warmth. Further in the Cosmos one may observe the stars, small, but bright objects beyond our Sun. Lesser objects that traverse the Cosmos and collide with planets are comets, asteroids and meteoroids. On a clear night with good optical instruments, an astronomer in an observatory may marvel at the Cosmos' miracles.
A day is the full cycle of the Sun around our planet and lasts 24 hours, each of whom lasts 60 minutes, who last 60 seconds.
A year lasts 360 days, split in 12 months of 30 days each. The four seasons of the year are marked by differing temperature which affects life on our planet.
The Pantheonic Calendar: 1.Divana
2.Gyolan
3.Abadid(spring begins)
4.Domnis
5.Ezdarin
6.Stomnis(summer begins)
7.Jurias
8.Charodis
9.Zemis(autumn begins)
10.Moris
11.Dranan
12.Kovinar(winter begins)
Aside from the Sun there are five known planets.
The observable planets and their Pantheonic names are as follow:
>The Sun - Juras
>The smallest - Divata
>Our planet - Domna (one moon, Drana)
>The closest and most similar to ours - Abagar (twin moons - Zemel and Ezdar)
>The largest - Mor (four moons - Charodei, Kovag, Gyolas and Stoman, from smallest to largest)
>The most distant - Batahl
Mundane matters such as synchronizing the current time have been settled.
Different astronomers have proposed theories that the cycle of stars, planets and lesser objects have an effect on magic and life on our planet, but no clear consensus has been reached on that matter.
We could not reach a consensus on what the days of the week should be called, though. We've synchronized them, though, so the first day of the Paitan callendar corresponds with the first day of the Roggarian calendar and so on and so forth.
The Roggarian week remains as it has been for six centuries - Axeday, Fishday, Bowday, Lumberday, Spearday, Huntsday and Godsday

For too long our traditional, shared values have been under attack by those who seek to undermine what used to define our great nation.
In these days, with rising meatbun-prices, we must defend and maintain our way of life and the values and virtues that used to define us.
Forcing the common citizens of Roggar to learn untested and unproven things such as these "maths" not only violates their freedom but also serves as a tool to disrupt the traditional family clan and attack our traditional Pantheonic faith.

Roggarian funeral rites include burying the deceased with a significant item and the erection of a tombstone, on which the sigil of their patron god, whoever they may be, is carved.

653 has come and as promised, Vodmus Cragdigger abdicates from the Roggarian throne after 50 years of largely successful rule.

The time for a new Contest has come!
If you want to propose a candidate from your faction, you must provide the following info:
>Name
>Age
>Skills/experience
>A little about yourself and what you promise to do for Roggar

If you want to be a candidate, write your post and roll a 1d100 for how well you perform on the Contest.

The Contest itself is only half of the deal - the other half are faction endorsements!
Endorsements only begin five minutes after this post, so candidates can write a proper post
If you want to endorse someone you roll the following;
1d15 if you are not a candidate and haven't endorsed anyone
1d10 if you were a candidate, but drop out to endorse
1d5 if you already endorsed someone and are changing your endorsement

Remember - an average performance in the Contest can be compensated by promising good things for Roggar and to individual factions to buy their favour. If you are not a candidate, your endorsement is worth more, so you may give it to the highest bidder if that's what you want! The King will appoint a new Cabinet after the Coronation - those who helped him/her get to the throne may get rewarded.

But don't let my age fool you, no, my family and I have proven time and again that we can and will make the BEST deals for Roggar. We're going to make Roggar great again, yes sir. We will... we will, we're going to renegotiate out trade deals with other empires.

And we're going to build a wall to keep out the Zhongians! They're bringing crime. They're bringing non-taxed drugs. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people. Just vote for me, and I tell you, this wall is gonna be yuuuuge. Together, we can defeat crooked Frederick.

Before an amassed crowd in Dragons Tomb, Vodmus gives a resignation speech.

"My Loyal Subjects, it has been an heartfelt 50 years, but my time has come. Upon my Contest, I promised you, the people, that I will abdicate when 50 years has passed, and here they are. When I was elected, the Roggarian people viewed me as nothing more than a foreigner, a colonist! As time grown, I gained your trust and in return I learned to appreciate the roggarian culture and people. For 50 years, I have led this nation through bloodshed, sweat, and trials even the strongest of dwarves couldn't handle, but I did it. And not once did I complain, for I could not forgive myself if I gave up on those who look up to the King. Of course, I couldn't have done it without my faithful Council, kingsguard included, and my great friend King Kragnan! Of course. I worked hard for roggar, improving the economy and even forging new alliances. There are some things I wish I could more, but alas the time has come. When I am no longer king, I ask only that I am remembered. For the last time as your king, I say Goodbye Roggarians. May the Next King rule ever so gloriously."

"Thank you. Thank you, and all the Gods of the Pantheon bless each and every one of you. I and my fellow councilors are so honored to be allowed to address the gathered representatives here today.

I believe we all must remind ourselves. We’re fighting not for one particular candidate or one campaign, but because each of us wants to be able to tell our kids and grandkids, our own families, that we did our best for their future and our country.

Roggar is more than just a land mass between two oceans. Roggar is an ideal, a simple but powerful idea. Freedom matters. For much of human history, government power has been the unavoidable constant in life. Government decrees and the people obey. But not here.

We deserve leaders who stand for principle, who unite us all behind shared values, who cast aside anger for love. That is the standard we should expect from everybody. And to those listening, please, don’t stay silent during this election.

If you love our country, and love your children as much as I know that you do, stand and speak and vote your conscience, endorse candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to true Roggarian values.
That is what I will be doing, and if we all do so we will surely have a leader that will make our nation what our ancestors desired it to be.

Thank you, thank you, and Juras bless every single one of you."

Sons and daughters of Roggar, I believe I speak for all of us when I say it is high time for us to have a Dragon King like the kings of old. Kings who stood up for Roggarian supremacy, for keeping what makes Roggar superior central to our culture and our nation! It's high time we take the sword to the foreign hordes that have terrorized us for centuries!

Think, my countrymen! How long have we been under the heel of some fresh outsider? How long has it been since we have done the conquering, and not simply resisted the conqueror? The Empire be damned, it is time for Roggar to stand as we once did, for us to refocus on what made us great! Our technology, our magic, and our culture!

Support me brothers and sisters, and there will be nothing that stands between us and the manifestation of our destiny as one nation united, spanning the whole of the continent! From sea to glittering sea!

Follow me brethren, and we will use our magical and technological might to bring the Roggarian Empire back to life, and to realize our dreams!

Also waifus for everyone.

We arrive on the 24th in Saidouga, the former capital of the Pirate King, where King Zougo Akajima is currently residing. The city has some ruined parts - it was not too long ago that it was the site of battles. Sea elves were almost all of its denizens a few years ago, but now the King has brought many humans, orcs and demons with him.

We are permitted to see him.
"Ah, fair greetings to you, Roggarians! 20 years ago you visited my grandfather when we had only just won our independence - now, we have won victory. I welcome you in Akeshisu. Come, we have tea."
He brings you to the garden of the Pirate King's Palace, where he is staying to oversee the establishment of a new order in these lands. Servants bring tea as our diplomats sit down with the King and several of his advisers.
"Well, I doubt you came here just for the tea, as good as it is. What does the Empire seek here?"

It is no mean feat what you have accomplished, and I wished to pay my respects on behalf of the Silverhand Cartel as a whole to you and your mighty kingdom.
>>

Personally, I would like to know how the Lectre offices my dear friends the lizardfolk helped my family set up abouy here are doing under your rule. Unfortunately, my allies here reminded me to be polite and make my presence know to you before I snoop about. How is your economy holding up with all the warfare, by the way? I humbly offer my services to whomever in your command requires advice on finances, if you so desire.

"Ah, first we would like to congratulate you for your great victory, it brings much joy to our hearths to see the Akeshisu grow and prosper. The Pirates have been a danger to the seas for far too long. We have heard many stories of your bravery and proves, it takes quite a man to kill a titan, one would be a fool to miss an opportunity to meet such a person. We are journeying to the new upcoming Empire in the south of our continent, and we saw fit to establish better relation with the glorious Akeshisu kingdom, perhaps even an alliance in the future?"
>>
>>1044618
Well good king, as I'm sure you remember our nation deployed quite a bit of manpower and ships 20 years ago in order to assist your people in claiming your freedom.
At that time your noble grandfather declined our sugestion of an alliance as it would be premature before final victory against the pirate menace. An understandable position.

Now, as your people have finally claimed your independence I would like to enquire into your disposition towards negotiating a closer relationship between our people? To call ourselves the ally of the Akeshisu would be the joy of our entire nation.

The answer to that question, you learned, is negative.

Swift winds and guiding tides were with our ships as we journeyed east. In Gajaxlan we learned that the capital of the Rhoznax Empire is the city of Nuzalzex, on the desert's edge.
Our ships reach a port city on the coast, from where we enter the river along which we travel northwards, to the capital. Nuzalzex is a very large and populous city. It is Charodis the 27th when we reach it and it is scorching hot for us Roggarians, though the locals are used to it.
We arrive around noon, sweaty travelers from afar. The river port has just enough space for us, though the docking fee isn't small. Stepping on the streets we move forward and are drawn to crowds of people assembling in a market square ahead of us most cheerfuly. We follow them and see that their awe is directed at a tall temple, atop which a dragon is perched - a Dark Dragon.

We find a large inn, with stables filled with various animals. We enter inside and find enough rooms for our expedition. It is a pleasant temperature here, well furnished and comfortable. You see more foreigners inside this establishment than you saw across the streets - dark elves from Aeldabad, humans from Hasgaldam and lizardmen from all over, primarily.
You've got several hours to rest, we'll go out when the sun is going down and it's getting cooler.
The bar offers varied food, exotic smokeleaf brands and a surprisingly modest range of alcoholic beverages. You see that it's mostly foreigners drinking alcohol here.

A round of freeroaming inside the inn now, rest up well, maybe gather some info or have some fun.

Opinions differ. These are merchants you are speaking to, so their opinions are not necessarily representative of the general public's back home. Taxes aren't harsh and tariffs when trading with the HPE are lower than before and the market is more secure there - they bore you with various matters of trade and economy. As far as religion and morale are concerned, the Pantheonic faith is becoming dominant in that region now. The mundane, everyday life, is not all too different in the end - there's some crime, a bit of corruption, temples tower over people's homes. The humans of Hasgaldam have adapted to the new order over time.

Well, as long as they're sticking to fighting other lizards, it's fine with me - the spice will flow"

You exchange stories with him - the armies of Rhoznax are vast and obedient, but they need expendable and capable people like them for certain tasks, he says.

Cotton, smokeleaf, pepper, silk and citrus are major exports that are mostly traded with Aeldabad and Hasgaldam. In mundane technology they don't seem to be particularly different from us, but you couldn't gouge their magical abilities other than the fact that golemancy is not as well known here.

Our entire group is escorted to a square at the foot of the large temple as more Temple Guards arrive. Those who were arrested are chained and tied to sturdy stone pillars, while the Nomannic astral priest is brought to a large, horizontal slab of stone, where he is brought to his knees.

He puts a hand on your shoulder, bids you to stand up and looks at you with great kindness. You feel warmth in your hearth - this is a good man, it tells you. You look down on your hands and see that the chains are gone, yet nobody put a key to them.

In fact, the chains on all the prisoners' hands are gone. He bids them all to stand up and join their compatriots.
"There is a time to be harsh and there is a time to be merciful. To steal another man's property, to make an attack on their faith - however sweetened the words and richly dressed the speaker- is a crime. The others among you overstepped the boundries of relations between a man and woman, but our land and our customs are foreign to you and you are diplomats, so I show you mercy."
"You are of the Holy Pantheonic Empire to the north. Young races you are, but you've advanced greatly and built civilizations of your own. Your faith, however, is misguided. You put your trust in false idols that manipulate you, you are puppets to the elves. The Gods made their ears sharp like knives to warn other races not to trust them, or so the old myths would say."
"Our Empire in its current form is rather young. Anavark is our God - he is the mightiest living dragon and his brood settled here with him over a century ago. I was the first priest to accept Anavark's will. His power allowed the new priesthood, who I am blessed to lead, to unite the scattered tribes of the desert, the bloodthirsty warriors of the jungle, the decaying cities of the great river and the decadent merchants of the coast into a new Empire. By Anavark's will, all the Sauri - you call us lizardfolk - shall be united under one banner. Anavark teaches wisdom, compassion and loyalty - this forgotten corner of the world is once more vigorous, prosperous, growing."

Speaking of which, the coat of arms of the Rhoznax Empire is pictured.

Now, if we are to ensure this office is to be self-sustaining until proper measures can be taken to secure it, I best look about for a local caravan company, yes? Dragonritter - 8 players a side ride a dragon crafted of cloth and other materials that is held up by 5 mages of level 4 standing on the sidelines. It is also possible for them to be on the ground (nonmagical variant) while doing it with the front and back players being responsible for holding the dragon up while the others fight to protect them. They must knock players off the other dragon from 10 feet in the air, onto a cushioned cloth (open for changing what they fall onto). Their weapons are their bodies, and optional sticks known as "claws" if requested.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Titanweight - A ball of smooth molten iron covered in pigskin (titanskin if available for the biannual empire wide tournament), with heaviness variants weighing higher and higher kilogram amounts depending on competitors and what is on hand, are given to a group of 10 contestants. In order to not be eliminated, they must pass the ball over the course of 5 minutes, each one holding onto the ball for less than 10 seconds. Stoman magic is the only magic allowed in these tournaments - note that smaller size balls and different weights can be used for non mages.

ELIMINATION RULES
1. If the ball is thrown and the person it is thrown to does not catch it, the person it is thrown to is eliminated.
2. If there is no clear target for a throw, the thrower is eliminated. (Whether there is a clear target is decided by the judge.)
3. If you drop the ball and it hits the ground, you are eliminated.
4. If you bend the ball in anyway, you are eliminated.
5. If you hold the ball for more than 10 seconds, you are eliminated.

Time for some sports balls.
>>
>>1046197
Mageball - Small goals (7x16 feet) are set up 13 feet in the air and have to be scored in by a team of mages, ten a side. The size of the pitch is soccer regulation size, and balls are traditionally made out of inflated leather, with dragonskin balls being used in the biannual Empire wide tournament, the Magebowl. The size of the pitch and number of players emphasizes that physical as well magical strength is needed.

Rules:
1. Only kicks are allowed for goals - magic is allowable for manuevering the direction of the ball in midair though.
2. Both teams start off from their starting line, with a flip of a specially minted dragonsmark deciding who gets the ball first - any team that magically tampers with the coin flip loses by forfeit.
3. Hands and feet may be used to pass.
4. If you score a goal, it is worth 6 points, with only 3 points awarded if the ball was moved by magic.
5. Magic may be used to alter the course of the ball, but not used on the ball itself.
6. A cap of level X must be placed on each team. Both teams must have players with roughly the same levels, with a difference of ~5 in total being the most allowed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dragonmelee - Set up like a traditional volleyball court but roughly 1.5x larger, net and all, there will be one side of 13, and one side of 8, known as the warriors and the dragon respectively. Note that only one ball is in play at any time, and the volleyball net will stretch down to the floor, preventing people from taking it from the other side. Magic being used is also banned.(edited)
The warriors aim is to knock out the members of the dragon one by one (not through throwing the ball which is illegal, but through serves, spikes, and other volleyball moves) until none remain. This must be done quickly though , as the dragon's goal is similar, but they have more offensive power. If the dragon's attack hits no players, the player closest to where it's landed will be eliminated instead. This is designed to make the game fast paced, allowing for multiple rounds within a short timespan.

Proposed reforms are

- switch all our documents over to paper as to have a unified organization system rather than having some on tablets, some on papyrus, etc.

- Have the Master of Laws appoint judges rather than the King in trials as to prevent corruption. The council will have the power to step in if they believe the Master of Laws is in the wrong, however.

- Change the title system; titles are to be awarded based on the overall power held by a faction, as judged by the Master of Laws. Once again, the council has the power to stop their actions if they step out of line.

There would be 3 levels to this new title system.

- Duke
- Count
- Baron

(We would change titles after the thread as not to clutter everything up.)

Our contact with southern states has increased the interest of Roggarian nobility in fine clothing.
Paitrans traditionally dressed with long clothes such as robes, influenced by high elves. Such clothing is typical among intellectuals in Roggar as well, but our native clothing style is actually closer to that of the norsemen - short tunics with belts and visible trousers, hose or leggings. In the old tribal days fur and leather were commonly used, but as animal husbandry developed, wool became the primary material used for clothing - linen, made from flax or hemp, has more often been used for other purposes, such as sails, over the centuries, but better tailoring techniques are now being adopted in Roggar. Linen can be washed and bleached - a great advantage - and now that practical alchemy has advanced dye-making technology, linen is becoming more dominant. At the same time, trade with the south has allowed larger amounts of cotton and silks to make their way north - nobles and well-off citizenry favour light silks, while cotton is widely used for padding.
In northern Roggar the textile and clothing industry is developing - tailors in Podermos were the first to start making buttons with buttonholes for fastening or closing clothes. With access to imports from the sea and local production of wool and linen, the coastal towns and cities of the Kulargi region now see clothing as their major export. Embroidery is becoming more widespread, jewelmaking also becomes a lucrative business, given our access to large amounts of silver and gold. This is the beginning of true fashion in Roggar.

We've ordered our naval vessels to pull into port in shifts to recieve upgrades.
All ships employ sails nowadays, but there's generally two different designs employed around our parts - low and high sided hulls are the main difference. Low sided hulls allow the use of oars, which gives the ship extra speed and maneuvarability - the old longships of the North are nowadays replaced by war galleys, a design we've also adopted as an improvement to our dromons. These ships can carry troops for raids and can be outfitted with a siege weapon if enough space is present.
Tall sides are employed on ships like the cog, which makes it nigh impossible for a galley to board such a vessel. This, however, means that oars are not an option - sail and rudder are your only way of navigating. For our navy, cogs are now being upgraded into hulks, whose hulls are sturdier and designs better suited for combat.

Faction Project:
Improve papermaking facilities

“In order to provide the Roggarian Court with sufficient paper for its administration and recordkeeping we must expand our facilities, bring in more workers, increase funding and be on the lookout for new methods and techniques. We will show the King that we're up to the task at hand.”
(as 653 is only 7 years ago it would probably be too early to get those nice citrus groves established, those will be attempted next project)

Council Project:
Educational reform: Place greater emphasis on morality and virtue in education

“The purpose of learning must be to better yourself as a person, not to become better at extracting profits at the expense of others.
True conservative Roggarian values will by law be given greater weight within our educational system from now on. The children will learn all about the glorious history of our people, the teachings of the sages and the tenets of the Pantheon. This might come at the slight expense of less important disciplines such as math, but that is a price I'm willing to accept.”

Also, forgot to mention earlier. “The The voluntary enforced piety act” of 621 is being strictly enforced within my lands. This naturally includes the enforcement of veils and discouragement of these dangerous new fashions (like men wearing tight pants that display the shape of their legs lewdly for all women to see.)

Once again I'm going to try and develop that blasted Zhong land, maybe get a small town there. "Eventually" this'll work and it'll be more than a few scattered villages over miles of untamed land.

As the new guard commander I decided it'll be time to implement Wolves into their work. Where they'll be used to track down/subdue would be escapees and could potentially sniff out illegal material.

Because the trend only started in the last few years, your progress in that direction is small. There are no "factories" in Roggar, there are workshops though. On your lands textiles are also being produced now, but it's nothing spectacular yet.

Also, Guilds and Cartels are an actual thing now as urban production and free trade have developed to the appropriate level.

>>1048825
You're occupied with what you're already doing, trying to split your work in two directions didn't help either the new goldmine or the ezirni project.
>>1048833
Again, since you only just learned of the trend in the last few years, you could not invest enough time and effort to make a big difference
(A reminder to all players that faction projects are what you've been doing over the last 20 years. If in the last 5 years you learn of a new thing and use your project on that, well, the Dice Gods will punish you as they have these two)
Your office ensures that technology is spread across Roggar, so that the entire Kingdom may profit from new advancements.

You've reopened half of the collapsed mine area. The Kingsguard have ensured your warriros are competent and reliable.

You've set up in Virinum and have begun producing cast-iron golems with materials from Ermagn. The Cartel prospers and attracts the finest golemancers in that region to join as you also begin producing combat golems.
>>1048864
You've established a town in your northern Zhongi province. That area begins producing citrus, seeds imported from Gajaxlan.
The Guard will start off with normal hounds for now - attempts to introduce wolves didn't work out well, as they would far too often kill the suspects rather than merely disable them.

Some sort of ruin hunt, I hear. Hopefully my men report back successful.

Now, my role upon the council. Right. Cartography... hmmm. Well, we'll be needing a place to organise expeditions and the like from, won't we? For this new expeditionary legion I believe we should use it as a dedicated force for -Exploration(assisting Roggaran explorers and the Royal Cartographer)
-Autonomous deployment(Loan the force to assist nations we are allied or have business with for when we don't want to get engaged in full scale wars).
>>
>>1049237
These legions would be semi-autonomous, making choices far away on Roggars behalf. It would be based more around deployment of Centeries to specific regions then a full fledge legion, to be more mobile, stealthy, and cost effective, succuring stragegic and economic assets in ungoverned regions for both funding and power projection. If properly enticed by a good deal, they may form up into legion strength to fight on another nations behalf (again, if the price is right). Otherwise, they will explore unmapped lands, with the Catographers assistance of course. (The frozen wastes of the North, in the deep jungles of Hajatas, any uncolonized islands, Wave's lands, etc.)

Svida Ondalan, Queen of the Halflings, is deploying her own forces to deal with this menace that has consumed the major city of Meadowset and the town of Dripam so far.

By the end of the year, the darkblight was ended. It affected a significant portion of the halfling hinterland and its masters raised legions of undead from the locals they killed, but they couldn't defeat the golem armies of Ondalia and the reinforcements they recieved from the rest of the Empire.
Of the Kingdom's 8 million denizens, over a million perished and that region will take years to recover from the devastation.

We've developed better mechanical applications - the use of wheel and axel powers a windlass, which can be employed in many machinations - cranes that can lift materials are now being employed for the purpose of loading cargo on ships, for instance.
Recently introduced from the east, spectacles can help the shortsighted read. Pipes and pressure, meanwhile are used to draw out water from aquifiers through a new kind of well.

A wide variety of protective clothing is available to the Roggarian soldiery of today.

A gambeson (or aketon or padded jack or arming doublet) is a padded defensive jacket, worn separately, or combined with other armor. The latest sewing techniques and use of buttons and laces allows such armor to be created.
Boiled leather armor is another light option - it consists of thick leather, boiled in water(and other less pleasant material) - a combination of chemistry and leatherworking.
The chain shirt continues to be a core component of any armor set, as it can cover a large portion of the body and offers good protection against slashing attacks and can be combined with other types of armor.
The coat of plates is a form of segmented torso armour consisting of overlapping metal plates riveted inside a cloth or leather garment. It is familiar to our knights and sergeants, for it is a more expensive piece of equipment that does a good job, but it may see a delcine in popularity soon as a new kind of armour has been developed.
That is the brigandine -a cloth garment, generally canvas or leather, lined with small oblong steel plates riveted to the fabric. The brigandine is fairly easy to produce and maintain, does not impair movement by either its weight or form and offers great protection for what it takes. It will no doubt become a favourite among professional soldiers and knights.
In addition, full helmets and bassinets are used by heavy infantry and knights, while lighter ones, like kettle hats, are used more commonly by the soldiery.
Small pieces of metal plates are used to reinforce joints like knees, elbows and shoulders as well.

In the year 666 After the Storm,at a ripe age of 125, Brangim Kragnan has withdrawn from ruling the Empire after 44 years and has abdicated the throne of Kragnaal in favour of his son, Anhirst. His last act as Emperor was to recognize the unification of the Northern Principalities in the Kingdom of Anglanorse once again.
Now, on Stomnis the 1st, 666, the 6 Kings(2 of whom are Queens) of the Holy Pantheonic Empire are gathered in the Imperial Capital. The priests emerge from the Great Temple and announce that unarmed combat will decide who shall sit on the throne.
The contestants are as follow:
>Maven Hawthorne of Roggar, 36
>Svida Ondalan of Ondalia, 37
>Philip Ezgielan of Paitras, 45
>Krolum Lursarin of Lursar, 40
>Torvan Kragnan of Kragnaal, 70
>Jurin Haraldson of Anglanorse, 31

The first fight will be between the Roggarian and Lursarin monarchs.
It has been decided that in cases such as this, where there is a major difference in physical capacities, Stoman priests will buff the weaker fighter to an acceptable level so that skill and decisionmaking are more important than raw force. No weapons, armor or magic other than that are permitted in the Arena.
On the dawn of the 2nd of Stomnis, the fight BEGINS

"Hmph. Was hoping to fight the halfling first, but you'll have to do."

Maven begins to move forward, but attempts to stay with her front facing the centaur's front, knowing just how grievous an injury you can get from those legs. If he charges, she'll just punch him in the face.

"May honour be brought through battle"

Krolum charges at the Queen preparing to pelt her with heavy unrelenting blows straight from the start.

Maven grabs Krolum's left hand as he swings and pulls downwards with all her enchanted force, bringing the centaur's front legs to his knees and putting him in a bad position, though he can still stand up.

If hare becomes emperess, I highly recommend that we strive towards a duel monarchy with paitra and start merging our organizations and armies together, it would create unity and as emperess, you can decide who leads these new organizations :^)

One last blow to the face should do it, Maven decides. After that she'll go to the centaur's left side (not close to the back) and attempt to put him in a headlock.

Even on the ground Krolum was almost the woman's height, he would strike swiftly with an uppercut to the jaw.

Rather than trying to change their height difference in either direction, both fighters exchange blows to their faces. Maven then moves aside, her jaw still hurting, and quickly puts her hands around the centaur's neck in an attempt to perform a headlock.

Krolum would end this with one more blow to the head for he wished not to break anymore ribs on the poor lass.

Going through the stands I look around to see if any of the Gunnarson's came with the Norse king to see the matches and say hello.
>>
Krolum, not wishing to use his feet(though it is not explicitly forbidden) tries to take Maven out with a punch to the head, but for that he has to bend down and misses. She manages to get up just barely, but her body still hurts(same debuff)

"Theatricality and shows of strength are powerful agents to the uninitiated... but we are initiated, aren't we King Krolum? Members of the monarchy of the Empire!"

Maven attempts to weave past his next punch and aim for his jaw, hoping for a break that would end the match.
>>
Maven hits the centaur on his jaw again and the cracking of bones is heard all across the stadium. Both are now at the same debuff of 90.

Enraged Krolum would charge attempting to trample the woman.

Looking at Krolum, Maven says "Do you *feel* in charge?"

She then punches him in the jaw again and moves to dodge his trampling, not enough to try and cause permanent damage, but enough to put him in pain that would cause him to withdraw from the fight.

The priests gave Svida a buff, given that there is a height difference of about two feet and a great difference in weight as well.
Jurin tries to go for brute force, while Svida is faster and, as everyone can see after the first 30 seconds, a better fighter - she dodges every punch that Jurin throws and replies with quick jabs that interrupt his patterns. She sets the pace in her favour, giving her a buff - d110.

All the fighters were exhausted and battered from their matches and were given three days to rest and prepare.

At the "Battle of Blood River" the two forces clashed, the two generals meeting for the second time - the first time, the Zhongi handily defeated the Drezvak, but now the outnumbered lizardmen claimed victory and captured General Kin. A peace treaty was negotiated between the two states, General Kin returned to Zhongian with many other captured veteran soldiers, while Drezvak returned the jungle lands that were predominantly populated by lizardmen.
The other bit of news in the last few months is that, with the fall of the Waven Empire, the Kingdom of Selaven(Pantheonic) once again feels secure and has declared war on Yuleyas(mixed religions). So far initial clashes have not been in either side's favour.

I must disagree. Their ideals are a mysterious and insidious threat to the good conservative traditions that serve as the foundation for our authoritarian kings.

Also, a "serene republic" sounds a lot like a "people's republic" desu. Aka neither republican nor of the people.

56 days after departing from Dragonstomb, we reach the city of Savrexis. The port authorities register our ships(there's not enough room for all of them at port, so some stay in the water).
The city is densely populated. Immediately after we finish our business with the harbormaster, we are approached by all sorts of magicians, guides, magicians, mercenaries. The harbormaster shouts over to us to not pay them any attention as they're just looking to scam us, to which they respond with hisses.
It's hot so we first settle down in a local harborside inn. Because you decided to bring a small army, there's not enough room for everyone, so just the leaders and maybe one mook for each will be staying there, while the rest guard the ships or stay in other inns.
Unlike our previous visit to a lizardfolk inn, this one is a lot rowdier - though still foreign and exotic, in a way it is more familiar, as the people there are freely drinking and socializing. Almost all the patrons are lizardmen, but there are some sea elves, a few Occidental humans(Zhongi or Akeshisu, they all look the same to you).
What should we do now?
A.Split up, take a day off and everyone'll do whatever they want across the city
B.Look for the local ruler(s)
C.Spend some time in the inn, resting, gathering info

Seeing you have money to spare, they cracked open a rare bottle of gin from Ondalia that they had in the cellar. Lizards drink different kinds of alcohol, which are potentially poisonous to non-lizards. You talked with one merchant who knows some elvish and he told you to look for "The Market Isle". Playing cards, you won enough to cover about half the alcohol's price.
>>1054202
You sat, drinking some gin, with silent company - the gentlemen there didn't speak any language you knew.
>>1054209
>>1054219
The lizardman you talked to was drunk and thought you were trying to say something about his wife and was hissing at you, looking like he's about to start a fight. Krieger helped calm things down and saw that the lizardman then spat into his glass - the spit looked acidic.
>>1054213
You met another green orc here, sitting alone, eating some fishy dish and drinking a lighter local alcohol. He says he's a mercenary, a freelancer here in Savrexis - the Republic is at war with his home, Kamborash, but it doesn't bother him that some would call him a race traitor - "Gotta get paid somehow". You exchanged some stories and he says he might work for you if you pay him well enough.
>>1054220
The great thing about lizan girls is there's no chance of getting them pregnant, they're exotic, but still familiar in enough places.
>>1054222
The city is doing all right, been better, been worse. A main topic of discussion is the war against Kamborash - is it worth the blood and money to grab some bits of underdevolep land, only to probably lose it again later? The war is undecisive and if it drags on for too many years, a new ruling council will get elected that'll back out of it.
>>1054224
There are practically no Pantheonites here. The fauna is rich and exotic - creatures of the sea, the skies and the jungles.
>>1054225
You also listen to discussions about the ongoing war. They recognize you as a very well-off goblin and ask you how the slave trade's going. The goblin tribes were conquered by the orcs of Kamborash, but now some are in the domain of the lizard states, who've expanded southwards - there, business is back to the old way, with the rich goblins usually being those whoo cooperate with lizardmen and sell out their own brothers and sisters for gold.

We requested a diplomatic meeting with the Ruling Council of the Republic of Savrexis earlier today and they've sent an envoy, inviting us to come and visit the Senate.
Making our way there, we are directed to the Ruling Council's reception hall. There we find the well-dressed members of said council waiting for us. Translators are present to make sure talks are smooth. We are welcomed to the Republic's capital, asked how we've been enjoying our stay so far and if we wish to discuss any business matters.
>>

We in the gnome guild love to meet democracies, they are so rare these days. We where looking to expand recently and where wondering if we could build some guild halls here. Also we have some items we think you will be interested in.

"You know, this place is quite beautiful, but I see no architects or worksmen. How were you able to construct such a place in such a small time?"

The Republic is open for business and investments and has an interest in these "items" of yours. You are directed to speak with one of the Councilors in private to do business.
>>1057768
"Savrexis is an ancient city, with more than 1500 years of history. These lands were the site of the first ancient Empires. The city was abandoned for many years after the Storm, but resettled 3 and a half centuries ago and has since then been a prosperous port. More than a century ago, we overthrew the ruling despot and established a republic."
>>
>>1057755
We've come to see whats been happening down in Hajatas rumors have told us much has changed since our last visit years ago. It certainly sounds like you've had your hands full with those Kamborash fellows.
>>
>>1057755
"I'm curious, what is it about the Warmwater Confederacy that allows them to punch above their weight, do you fellows know?'
>>
>>1057791
"Interesting. Tell me, what did you think of the Mharkha and that damnable tree? What do you think of Drezvak and their brink on destruction?"
>>
>>1057792
The only lazdverk member of the council speaks up "It is a matter of honour and duty that we destroy those savages, who would threaten our enlightened civilization. To that end we allied with those who were once our rivals. We've maid gains, taken new lands that will allow us to make new settlements - the coast is very densely populated and there are many people in this city who would no doubt welcome the opportunities the frontier holds. First we have to take care of the damned orcs though." he clenches his fists and grinds his teeth.
>>1057799
"Punch above their weight? Hardly. They're an alliance of fairly well-developed island city-states, whose common enemy was Drezvak. When Drezvak was strong it was all they could do to stop them from advancing south - when Drezvak's power waned, they seized the opportunity and expanded. We believe that formation is volatile and won't last long without a common exterior enemy, though. They're divided enough among themselves." says a lizan
>>1057818
"Was that the name of one of the goblin tribes? We conquered their lands from the orcs. Yes, now I remember - they had a Godtree there, didn't they? The little fools worshipped it and fed it sacrifices. The one good thing the orcs did was to destroy the tree, though I wonder how they did it and what it cost them. There's an ugly orcish temple there now, if I recall correctly" says the lazdverk
>>
>>1057847
Who if anyone do you worship in these parts?
>>
>>1057847
>>1057857
I too am curious as to your faith, or lack thereof. I don't believe I've seen such success from a nation that didn't at least acknowledge some form of higher beings, but I've seen no traces of worship amongst you, and your civilization is a grand thing to see.
>>
>>1057847
I dont suppose you've heard of the name Ahinashada have you?
>>
>>1057882
"Never heard of it. Sounds like something from Rhoznax."
>>1057857
>>1057874
"Oh, you simply haven't seen it yet, then. The city boasts a temple to our Skyfather, the Great Dragon Strovext. The Cult to Strovext is shared in our neighbouring states as well - he rarely shows himself to us, for he is a Lord of Light, but by his grace, our priests are able to maintain their magic."
>>
>>1057847
What can you tell me about the members of my race native to this continent
>>
>>1057906
"They were brought here from Setyrias centuries ago - a mistake, in my opinion, given that they're now out of control barbarians rampaging in the east. Take that as you will."
>>
>>1057909
"Another Dragon? Why do lizards usually resort to Draconic Worship? Its been prevalent across every lizard nation I've seen."
>>

After a night's rest and a bit of resupplying, we departed on the 13th of Stomnis by ship, heading south along the coast, to Kamborash.

On the 19th we approached the Kamborash shore - a large settlement in sight, smoke steadily rising, the intensity suggesting that it's not from it being set ablaze.
Our 3 hulks, manned by 30 sailors each and with 130 passengers in total, are intercepted by three triremes - a design long since abandoned in Roggar, it is quite unusual for us to see it so far from home.
The triremes block our path from about 120 feet from where our ships halt. We see figures onboard, some human, some orcish, some wearing armor. Our ships fly the Roggarian Dragonskull banner and the Imperial 13-pointed Sun. After about a minute of silence, we hear a booming voice, most likely enchanted by magic so we can hear it well, speaking to us in fluent Roggarian, with a western accent.
"What has brought our compatriots so far from home, to these distant shores? You approach Kamborash, a land at war. State your business."

One of our Divata priestesses enchances her eyesight so she can see what's happening onboard those ships. She sees that on the central one, the humans, wearing lorica segmenta, huddle up and are discussing something among themselves.
>>
Those humans nod to each other. One splits from the group and goes towards the mast and again, with an enchanted voice, speaks
"Yeah, nah, bugger off! You're probably spies for the lizards! You're not the first they sent and you won't be the first we'll sink if you try anything!"

Up to 3 people per faction board one of our ships and are escorted to the docks of this small city. Apparently, its name is Arboria. There's a small amount of humans from Bullcoast here - soldiers, smiths, mages, priests and the like. This is the largest orcish settlement on this coast, the harbor is well guarded by catapults, ballistae and around a dozen triremes - the ships alone couldn't stop a commited attack from Savrexis, but in conjunction with the siege engines they can defend the harbor. A human wharfmaster is instructing orcs and goblins in working on several new warships, the city's smiths are constantly busy making weapons and armor, Iron Legionnaires instruct orcish warriors how to fight and orcish officers - how to lead. A few houses are built in a style, reminiscent of Constantinople, but most of the buildings are of a simpler design, made with wood, bones and some stone, some half-burrowed in the ground.

We're escorted to a large orcish structure, well guarded by mailed orcs. Inside, on a large table are a number of documents and scroll, which are rolled up and put away as soon as we enter. Two senior Iron Legionnaires are, along with half a dozen orcish commanders. The biggest of them turns to us and speaks in Roggarian
"You're causing trouble in the bay? They say you're "explorers" from Roggar. You want to run around in the jungles, getting stung by insects and eaten by jaguars? Or have you come to help your Pantheonic brothers prevail against the heathen lizardmen?"
>>
We gnomes of the tinkers guild have much to lose if the lizards win. We recently got a deal to import iron to our craftmen and are willing to sell iron weapons to your forces.
>>
>>1058267
"Prevail? Why are the Whitevaynes here intervening in this? What is this 'Arboria'? We'd heard no news of this back in Roggar."
>>

This your first proxy war lads? The whitevyanes want the orcs to win so that they will be added to their sphere of influence.
>>
>>1058267
We Green Orcs from Roggar came to see this Kingdom filled with our kind. I wonder if you could tell us some more about it?
>>
>>1058293
We can make iron weapons easily and cheaply, allowing your smiths to use the iron for more important things, like armor and arrows. We also haven't made any deals with the lizards.
>>
>>1058293
"Faith? Surely you jest? I haven't seen a single priest in this entire town. Not to mention that your soldiers were ever so intent to make us go back to roggar. I must say, this is all very shady. As Pontiff, I'd heard no news of this proselytization. What kind of Mission are you running?"
>>
>>1058285
>>1058290
There's been plenty of opportunity for Mr. Whitevayne to tell us about . . . whatever this is, and he has failed to do so. We came to explore and be eaten and bitten and whatnot, but I think we found something far more interesting.

Any chance we might meet your king? He must be an enterprising fellow to manage all this so far from home.
>>

"Through conversion and military assistance, we brought the orcish tribes together under one common banner. A great potential ally to Roggar!" says the other adviser
>>1058300
"As Claudius said, with the Iron Legion's help we united under Warchief Graus Kirzar earlier this century - we continued bringing in more tribes under his banner, while also successfuly campaigning to conquer the goblins. 22 years ago the lizards of the coast united against us and we've been fighting on and off ever since - they've pushed us further south than our intitial borders with them and we are locked in a stalemate right now."
"Our current ruler is Warchief Agruskum Kirzar. I am Gorvan Trogal, Chieftain of the Korstal clan of this region. We've lived here for centuries, warring against ogres, goblins, lizards and other orcs, until by Stoman's will we were to become one Kingdom. We combine the ways of our ancestors with the new ways of the Pantheon to forge a future for our people in this land - my brethren, you are always welcome to return here, to the homeland, to aid us."

>>1058307
"If I decide you are trustworthy enough, I will recommend you to see the Warchi- ah, the King yourself."
>>1058327
"We've tried to convert them as well, but they are stubborn and firecly independant. Because of them we are forced to keep some amount of forces in the east, forces which could no doubt help turn the tide against the lizards. Thankfully, the ogres fight each other as often as they fight us, but if we were to show a sign of weakness on the border, they'd be raiding us with no end in sight."
>>1058399
"This war has been our primary concern ever since it started. Hajatas is a large and dangerous continent, you will have to explore it yourself to truly learn what is going on. We've got ogres in the east, lizardmen in the north, more lizardmen in the northeast, beyond the ogres, goblins still beyond our control in the south, dangerous mountains and jungles almost anywhere beyond the coasts."

Leave these savages and continue to the unexplored south.

>>
>>1058421
Many of us would be honoured to join your cause, but we face one problem, which is that we are far too small in number for any sizeable portion to aid you, without it seriously affecting us.
>>
>>1058421
If I may ask, you said this continent has many dangers and that you seem to know quite a bit of the area around your lands. But since we did come with exploration into the unknown in mind I'm particularly interested in some rumors we've heard. Particularly that supposedly a Titan lurking somewhere on this continent. Perhaps you could enlighten my old mind if the rumors hold weight?
>>
>>1058451
"They work for us. Some are thralls, some are free. Those in the west, the Petrakhi, were Pantheonic - through a shared faith we've had less problems with them. Most slaves are those from the east, who worshipped Dark and that accursed tree."
One of our party asks what happened to the tree
"Mor's will was done, with his aid and the self-sacrifice of many brave warriors and sha-ahh, priests, we destroyed it and built a great temple to Mor on its site, but that ground was lost to lizardmen. We pray to Mor the tree hasn't found a way to grow back, but I wouldn't put it past the lizards to use it in some way."
>>1058454
"Secure shipping routes. The lizards have made it nigh-impossible to transport men and resources from Roggar to Kamborash - many of the advisers here should've returned to Bullcoast long ago, but have been unable to due to blockades. Ships will be the most helpful right now, as well as experienced sailors. If we can harm THEIR sea trade, it'll mean a lot for the war. Manpower we have, but wouldn't turn down any good warriros. High-quality equipment is always welcome, as are magical trainers."

"Tell me - would you consider being friends of Kamborash? We honour our debts and if we are able to secure victory, we would gladly aid you in any war you yourselves wage."

He smiles for the first time
"Great to hear! I'll arange guides to take you to meet the...King...immediately!"
Our remaining ships are allowed to dock at Arboria and our entire expedition journeyes south, along the river, up to the fork where it splits - there lies the orcish capital city - Kambor. It is a work in progress, we learn that its construction started only after the unification of the tribes. It lies in the fertile heartland of orcish territory, with agriculture and animal husbandry being fairly well developed along the rivers. We are taken to a great Hall, where we meet the King, a man who is perhaps slightly past his prime years, but whose eyes show keen intellect and intererst in us.
"Welcome to Kambor, friends! Have you come to aid the Kingdom? Ah, I've recieved word already - you are diplomats and exporers. Let us discuss a potential alliance or partnership between our realms, as well as your quest to explore Hajatas - we can help each other mutually."
>>
>>1058584
Do you have quality maps that extend south of the Ogre tribes, we're lacking quality maps for that area
>>
>>1058584
"Thank you for your welcome your majesty, It has been a shame that the Whitevaynes would hide their involvement down here from the rest of the kingdom, if we had known more of this place we would have surely sent aid sooner. In older years mine family was involved with spreading the faith among the goblins and I am glad to see them under watchful eye of strong pantheonic warriors like your people."
>>
>>1058584
Hello your highness, we at the gnome guild are glad to meet you. Would you be willing to allow us to open a guild hall in your lands? Also we have some goods that could help turn the tide in this conflict, if your interested of course. it's not iron swords
>>
>>1058584
"Your commanders mentioned you need all kinds of supplies and personal but most importantly ships to break the lizards blockade. While we do have a navy of considerable size getting large amounts of aid down here would be very difficult. A more slow and steady approach might do."

"We also plan on exploring further south if you have any information on the area you could give us it would be very helpful."
>>
>>1058584
It's a pleasure to meet you, your majesty. I must say, I'm intrigued by just how well your people have done for themselves in the face of such adversity. It's truly inspiring to see such fierce resolve in beating the odds. I would gladly move to support a partnership between our realms, as well as perhaps exchange knowledge of various technologies and magics.

However, something in particular drew my attention to Hajatas. I've heard tell that there's a Fire Titan somewhere on the continent. Would you happen to know anything about this rumor, or had you not heard it?
>>
>>1058584
*I take off my hat and do a formal bow* We thank you your majesty for allowing us to meet you, and may I say your kingdom seems to be doing well and no doubt once the issues of your war are dealt with you'll be a prospering nation on par with some of the great kingdoms in our continent.

We watched as the ogres, their numbers rising with each minute, encircled the fort and slaughtered all those outside it. Those inside were holding out against the assault, so the ogres pulled back and left an opening for the orcs to escape - the more cowardly among them took the bait and tried to make a run for it, but it was a trap - ogres sprang an ambush on them and captured them alive. They started large bonfires and started roasting the captured orcs alive, tearing the living flesh off them and eating it in sight of the orcs in the fort - eventually, their patience ran out and the fort's defenders charged out, to try and rescue their comrades, but to no avail. As we watch the horrific display, a group of ogres -around 50 perhaps - spot us and start walking towards us.

The ogres assemble around the cookinga areas, observing Pyotihr with interest, initially. Sophisticated discussions on the finer points of cooking are held, with a vocabulary so advanced Pyotihr couldn't even understand all of it. When he presented his dish to them, the jury of chefs ponder for a moment, before presenting their score - a single orcish fingerbone from each, with only one of the five chefs giving a score of three fingerbones out of ten.
"You amateur in art of live cooking! You bring shame on culinary arts!" The main chef roars with anger at Pyotihr.
A gnome, several feet bellow, is attempting to present his own recipe. The main chef grabs the gnome with one hand and ties him to an iron rod spinning over a bonfire.

Those who decided to run made it out safely. The rest were engulfed in a catastrophic fight - the gnomes unleashed a secret weapon, strange stones they'd throw which unleash some sort of lethal poison that can blind someone, corrode their skin and make it impossible for them to breathe. Pyotihr and Silverhand's groups, along with the ogres, descended upon the gnomes when they unleashed the grenades. What ensued was a slaughter on all sides, as those who were not killed or disabled by the poison itself were blinded, confused, enraged, panicked and began to turn on each other. Krieger and his golems were torn apart, as was Pyotihr and at least a third of his party. The gnomes could only hold out for so long as more and more ogres descended.
The rest of the expedition ran away and made it to the ship, leaving behind the gnomes, ogres and Silverhand. No one else was lost.

We reach a fishing village in the goblin lands. Its population looks to be in the hundreds, perhaps over a thousand. The villagers live in huts of bone and wood, they use rafts to fish and are herding some local breed of goats.
Upon seeing us, they call on their village elder, an old woman who knows the lizan language. Through her we communicate - she asks us who we are and what we seek here

After a week, we reach a larger settlement, protected by wooden walls and some guards with weapons of stone, copper and bronze.
One could call it a town. There's several thousand goblins here at least, there's a market where they barter for various goods, there are at least two smithies and you saw two goblins riding a dingy-looking cart, pulled by some local breed of cattle. It's civilization, of a sort.

We find the biggest building in the town, a stone and wood fort that's rather well guarded - the guards on the gate even have iron weapons!
We're admitted inside, where we find the local ruler - the self-styled King Girkin Riversits. He displays his wealth in the hall and somehow manages to look down on us, even as he is sitting on his throne/chair, while being shorter than most members of our expedtion.
"You've got nice weapons and armor there. Interested in selling them? "

We goblins have always lived here. Once upon a time, a very, very, very long time ago, there were others here - probably lizards. You won't find much left today. A deal has been struck with the Gnome Tinkers Guild.

In return for supplying us with their arsenal to take down the Mighty in an (hopefully) upcoming war, we will provide him with the gnomes of Ezirin from conquered lands we take from the war to fall under his jurisdiction, his guild hall is returned to him, and he gets first pick in terms of mines in conquered lands along with some lands.

Some might be opposed to this due to stunts pulled by the Guild in the past and their vaguely threatening attitude towards certain nobles in our society, but this is for the good of all Roggar. I prefer having this weaponry under the control of the Crown rather than free to run amok. Similarly, I think it is a good idea to reform our research segment of the council and the GOOMANS, and award one of their gnomes with a new seat. This is an attempt to make sure their research stays under the control of the government to a certain (I assume understandable) extent.
I would also like to announce that while no disciplinary actions are to be taken, I do find myself displeased with those who agreed to the idea of working together with the Kamborash orcs. Such an agreement could be perhaps dangerous in the long run if we abandon it - and it was made without any royal presence there. On top of that, interfering in the southern continent is the epitome of stupidity when there are still problems up here in Setyrias.

I believe our peace treaty with the Mighty ends soon - on that front, I do believe we should wage war once more, both for lands and for the Pantheon.

The Gods Protect,

Queen Maven Hawthorne

>Pyotihr and Silverhand's groups, along with the ogres, descended upon the gnomes when they unleashed the grenades. What ensued was a slaughter on all sides, as those who were not killed or disabled by the poison itself were blinded, confused, enraged, panicked and began to turn on each other. Krieger and his golems were torn apart, as was Pyotihr and at least a third of his party. The gnomes could only hold out for so long as more and more ogres descended.
From what I've heard of these events the gnomes can hardly be blamed for defending themselves against those that would feed them to maneating ogres.

Before dawn, on the 15th, the army left camp for the southeast - they had to travel 100km to reach the vilage where the insurgents were last spotted - with forced marching on good roads, they covered that distance in two days. There, on the evening of the 17th, they recieved more reports - two more attacks on more distant villages, again, around 700 casualties in total before insurgents had pulled out. Reports describe the attackers as "not really looking like soldiers" and "being of varying sizes, from tiny to tall" - looked more or less like humans to the peasants, but most of them have never seen any race other than humans, goblins and maybe centaurs during their lives.
Current map shows the order in which attacks were made (houses on the map don't represent a single village on the map,but rather several - these are roughly the locations of the attacked villages and the order in which they were chronologically attacked.

>in case some form of law breaking
My queen, repeated massacres of civilians are quite illegal, actually it is against several of our laws. Alot of them actually.

With your permission I will deploy humanitarian aid to those left behind after these monstrous attacks. That's the least we can do.
>>
>>1073227
Aye, it is illegal, but the faction dispute holds more import I believe.

Feel free to send humanitarian aid of course.

The Divatan scouts identified a northern and southern insurgent group - both were trying to steal boats from the villages on opposing ends of the county in order to cross to the other side of the Longfork, but local militias, who are now being assembled en masse, managed to stop them - on the 21st, the main Divatan army almost managed to corner the northern insurgent group, which was forced to flee towards Krasia.

The Divatan army then heads towards the Southern Insurgent group, leaving behind the Northern Insurgent group for the time being, but leaves behind a rear guard of about 75 men at arms and 75 Zealots to guard.

On the 23rd a skirmish occured between insurgents who wanted to attack Divata's Pathway and local militia defenders - the militia held out long enough for the army, which was already headed that way, to come - the insurgents retreated southward, into the forest, though some were killed and a few captured. They are confirmed as members of the Tinker's Guild - the forces are made up of gnomes and high elves, primarily.

The northern group had managed to cross the river on the 24th, using boats hired from citizens of Krasia, and made raids on two villages east of Rograr over the next 4 days. During that time, the main army of Divata's Daughters caught up to and destroyed the southern group - its 400 remaining operatives were slaughtered by the enraged Divatans, who had lost family members to their terrorist attacks. On the 29th the main army recieves word that the remaining insurgent forces are on the northern side of the river - local militias had managed to prevent civilian casualties from being too high, thankfully.

The insurgents sent a unit to attack the city - concerned, the main army fell back to protect the Temple - those terrorists were killed or captured, but it gave time for the rest to leave the region successfully.
On the 4th of Abadid, the 13th and 14th Mobile Legions arrive in Divata's Pathway, led by the new Dragon Commander. At this point, insurgents have left the area north of Divata's Pathway, present location uncertain.

Leave about 100 zealots and 100 men at arms to guard Divata's Pathway, send the rest of my forces to intercept the retreating force, with Knights at the forefront. Destroy all. Terrorism cannot exist within Roggar. DIVATA VULT!

Also contact the Royal Physician to get doctors over to my lands to reduce the epidemic.

The terrorists were out of supplies, low on morale, tired. The angry Divatan army caught up to them, slaughtered those who fought and captured the rest.
These are all "former" members of the Tinkers' Guild.
Currently, an epidemic is spreading, having started east of Roggar and having spread down the Longfork, affecting Rograr and Krasia as well - the waters themselves were contaminated.
The northern insurgent group was destroyed on the 7th of Abadid.
It will take time for humanitarian aid to reach this distant part of the Kingdom.
Over 2000 confirmed civilian casualties so far, around 300 Divatan military personnel, around 800 Tinker Terrorists.

Due to recent turmoil during the Rangers getting a new leader they were unable to provide aid to this plague. But anyways a new leader is selected after a great amount of turmoil and mystery!

His Name is, Nick Corelone. Him being chosen same at the same time of many odd occurences. Primarily that some of the delegates and opponents "Disappeared" and those who replaced them seemed almost too eager to pick him. Meanwhile the others almost completely picked him but at the ceremony they looked a bit... tense. Some Rangers cryed cheat! But the naysayers were quicky silenced at the ceremony. However he expresses his deepest condolences to the loss of the Divatans people. He wishes that this will not happen again.

PRAISE TO THE NEW GRANDMASTER!
