>You are Princess Zelda, heir to the fallen throne of Hyrule

>Your father, corrupted by Power, died in a coup, your Kingdom shattered in a civil war 10 years ago, the Hero in Green giving his life to ensure you escaped the conflict

>An uneasy peace has returned to the land, but omens of a descent into greater chaos than before loom on the horizon

>You, Zelda Hyrule, have the potential to claim your birthright and restore the Kingdom to what it once was, bring back true peace to the lands. Your path ahead is not set in stone; you must chisel it in yourself. What kind of Legend will you create?

You take a moment to sit down and just... breathe. Part of you can’t believe that plan worked, your body hurts basically all over, but more than anything you’re just glad this battle is over. You watch as blackened mists leave the dragon’s bones, a small, skull-like chunk of it falling from its head.

Similarly, three pillars of light appear around the massive skull of the dragon, revealing... Heart Pieces. Sheik helps you walk to one of them, restoring your health. She and Aveli then look to each other for a moment, then take the other two.

[HEARTS: 9/9]

Sheik approaches you once again, kneeling. “Please forgive me for not being more dutiful in protecting you, Princess.”

“Always so formal.” Aveli notes. “...but can’t say I don’t understand where you’re coming from. I’m glad you’re safe, Z.”

Recalling your instructions from the other dragon, you head to the skull-like chunk of mist... most of it vanishing and revealing a mask, in the image of a dragon’s face. Sheik stands and asks you, “Where shall we go next, Princess?”

“We shall find Verana again, and look around the Temple a bit more. There are still a few places I feel would be worth investigating.” you inform the girls dusting off your clothes. “...And, Sheik?”

You notice her give you a slightly uneasy look as she replies, “Yes, Princess?”

“I appreciate the sentiment, but do not worry yourself over such a thing. I am fine, and we all made it out of this in one piece.” you tell her with a calm and warm smile.

“U-understood, Princess.” she shyly replies.

The three of you make your way out of the dragon’s chamber, arriving back in the Temple’s entrance. To the left is, according to your map, an extra couple areas you haven’t been to yet, while to the right is the Necropolis proper, with Verana down below.

You take the path to the right, heading towards the Necropolis and Verana. Along the way, Sheik makes a quick detour to an area on the map you haven’t been to yet, retrieving for you... ah, a red Rupee! Score!

[Rupees: 429/500]

Climbing down the ladders, the three of you see Verana playing the Song of Healing on her ocarina. Even after noticing the three of you, she keeps playing until she finishes, taking a deep breath. “I take it the three of you have been successful?”

“Smashed those monsters good!” Aveli replies cheerfully.

You notice a mild twitch in Verana’s eye as her glance becomes accusatory. “...And our dragon? Did you smash HIM too?”

“Now hey, I didn’t do much permanent damage, and I apologized afterwards! He forgave me too!” the little Iron Knuckle protests.

She looks to you and Sheik momentarily, before returning her eyes to Aveli. “I’m sure he did.”

Aveli leans on her planted axe. “What have you been doing here anyway?”

“Keeping the spirits of our ancestors at peace, keeping the monsters away from here.” She finally addresses you directly. “It seems we were both successful in our goals, Miss Termina.”

“Indeed. Verana, I thank you for teaching us the song of healing.” you start with a humble bow. “It proved invaluable in ensuring your people’s dragon enjoy its rest once more.”

That seems to put her at ease, at least a little bit. “You are welcome, Miss Termina. This is a relief.”

“Will you be staying here? Or going back to the Gerudo city now that your task is complete?”

“I will be leaving. There is probably still some warmth and light out, if I move quickly I will make it back home before the cold night truly sets in.” she explains in a slightly more nervous tone than she seems to realize.

“If you would allow us, we would like to see a bit more of the Temple. We can escort you back home afterwards.” you tell her.

Verana hesitates in responding, but seems to decide that’s the best course of action. “I’ll... wait at the entrance for you.”

“Just so you know, I’m not carrying you.” Aveli tells her in a slightly teasing tone.

“Oh be quiet, tin can, I wasn’t going to ask anyway.” the blonde Gerudo almost hisses.

As the four of you walk out, Verana stopping at the Temple entrance as you, Aveli, and Sheik head towards the final room you haven’t explored, the Sheikah girl tilts her head and asks the Gerudo, “Why do you antagonize her like that?”

“Pardon?”

“It’s clear you two don’t seem to get along. But I’ve noticed you starting a lot of this, Aveli.” Sheik asks critically.

Even with her helmet on, your ears are telling you that Aveli’s pouting fairly hard just from the sound of her voice. “‘Cause she’s stuck up and bratty and tries to act like... agh, nevermind. It’s personal, that’s all.”

“...I understand.” Sheik replies, backing away from her and closer to you.

You just sigh and head down a stairway. The room below has a set of pillars, each with switches on them. Curious... activating the middle one seems to start a set of clicking sounds... but not quite like a timer. Different, more like... a music box, almost.

You listen carefully to the music that plays, then match it to your harp to the best of your ability. As you strum, you notice a pattern to the music... and while it doesn’t quite translate as easily to the clicks the first pillar makes, strumming the harp seems to give you a better impression of which switches you need to press, and in what order.

You match things up...

And it works! It’s more than just the notes, the timing needed to match, and it looks like the music box clicks were just slightly off, compared to playing it on an actual instrument. Clever.

And it opens up a section of the wall behind it, revealing...

A [Piece of Heart]! Only one more before you’ve got a full set!

Seems that’s all you had left, according to your map. You walk with Aveli and Sheik back to Verana, the blonde Gerudo looking off into the distance. You... see lights? Lanterns, torches, in the distance.

“Aveli, Verana, do either of you know what that is ahead of us?”

The little Iron Knuckle shoulders her axe and stands as tall as she can. “Looks like mom’s decided to try for a show of force. Hopefully it’s only a show, there’s not much we have on the Gibdo’s numbers.”

Verana shivers slightly as a cool breeze blows towards you all. “An attack right now would be foolish. Unless she found something out recently...”

“You mean... the Gerudo are preparing for conflict against the Gibdo?” Sheik asks.

“Mom’s probably gotten permission from Geldama to try for intimidation, or at the very least making them know that our numbers are not small. This isn’t war... yet.” Aveli replies in a far more serious tone than you’re used to from her.

“Then we can use this as cover to get Verana home quicker.” you note.

“Keaton, would you mind taking Verana back to the village?” you ask aloud, confusing the blonde Gerudo slightly.

Her confusion changes to surprise as the Keaton leaps from the mask you have, magically growing before her eyes. “Hee-hee-ho! A simple task, child. Greetings, Miss Verana.”

“...those things are real?” she mumbles out in surprise. “I-I mean, I am humbled, great Keaton. Thank you.”

“...that is SO COOL.” Aveli cheers as she looks over Keaton. “I want one.”

“I apologize, my child, but that will not be possible for some time.” Keaton tells her, letting out another soft chuckle.

“O-oh...”

“We will see what is up ahead with the marching Gerudo. Verana, relay what has happened to Lady Geldama.” you instruct.

“V-very well...” she mumbles out, climbing on Keaton.

“Don’t talk to any more strangers along the way!” Aveli teases.

As the Keaton bolts off, the three of you try to make your way to the marching Gerudo, Aveli using the Belt of Winds to carry you and Sheik part of the way to catch up. At the front of the small army is a familiar face. Aveli’s mother smiles as she sees you all approach. “Successful mission, my desert flower?”

“M-mom!” she shouts out in embarrassment. “...Yes. We stomped out all the monsters and Miss Termina saved our dragon!”

“I thank you for that, but there are some things you should know...” You relay to the Iron Knuckle your encounter with the Stalfos, their attempt to create a gigantic, merged Stalfos, Verana’s help in stopping it and teaching you and Sheik the Song of Healing, and the encounter with the dragon.

She rubs her chin contemplatively as she listens. “A Gibdo being there confirms some of my suspicions. Those bastards are planning something. They’ve been plotting against us, and snuck in to our sacred grounds right under our nose.”

“So, that is what this march is about?” you ask. “The Gibdos?”

“The fortress they took over is not too far from here. We’re making them know that we’re not to be messed with.” She looks back to the Gerudo behind her. “Is that right, girls?!”

A roaring cheer of agreement echoes through the area. Sheik looks to the warriors behind her, then to Aveli’s mother. “Do you intend to fight them?”

“We’re making a preemptive defensive position. With what you’ve done for us, they’ll realize that we’re capable of stopping their attempts to destroy our people.” She grins. “If they’re smart, they’ll retreat.”

Heh, too bad we can't use Keaton to scout right now. He'll be back soon enough though.

I forget, but I think we passed up on investigating the Gibdo matter earlier. Is this another situation where someone else is pulling the strings? We should perhaps ask some questions now and float the possibility.

...What were we planning to do after this temple? It sounds like they have this handled, but I can't remember what else we could be doing.
>>
>>1069091
There is still the Shadow Temple, along with the Temple of Time, Great Sky Temple, and a few more places. You were going to go to the Shadow Temple before Sheik convinced you to head to the Spirit Temple first.

Alright, I guess I'll vote for heading back to Kakariko, to prepare for whichever temple we decide to do next.
>>
>>1069010
Well, you could head back to Kakariko and prepare for the next Temple you were going to visit, but this... is tugging at your mind. “What of your defenses, what have you brought with you?”

“Enough equipment and supplies to start up an encampment that will last for a couple days. In spite of SOME people’s protests, we’ve managed to scroung up enough supplies to give ‘em hell if they try anything.” the Iron Knuckle tells you, her daughter listening intently.

Well, they’re set on supplies... “What about scouts? Have you any information on the Gibdo? Such as how mobilized they are, or if they’ve tried anything recently?”

“We’ve got some of our scouts ahead, they should be back soon enough. Plus you’ve given us some info yourselves; we know they attempted to take on the Spirit Temple.” She grins wide at you. “And completely failed. Good on ya’ Termina.”

Well, they seem prepared for the worst, but... “Might you still need some help, though?”

“Offering it? Heh, you really are a strange one. Hylians are usually the ones asking us for assistance, not the other way around.” She shrugs. “I believe we’re good, but a couple extra hands might not hurt.”

Sheik tugs on your poncho. “Are you sure this is the best idea? You still have more to deal with.”

“I feel like this will give us more insight into the man with masks, such as his goals and his capabilities. He seems to think himself a shadowy puppet master of sorts, plotting constantly; if we ignore that, we miss out on another opportunity to try to stay a step ahead of him. Especially when reliable allies are facing those he seems to be trying to set against them. Let us help the Gerudo tonight.”

Sheik nods humbly. “Wise words. I shall stay with you to help.”

Aveli is almost beaming with delight as she looks up at you. “Glad to have you helping us, T.”

You reach a rocky hill, most of the gathered Gerudo stopping and setting up their camp. In the distance you notice... a truly massive structure, almost the size of Hyrule Castle. A fortress silhouetted by the soft blue of the night sky and a few scattered lights around the area. You also spot a few figures... seem to move like Redeads, possibly Gibdos, but with the little light and great distance you can’t quite make sure of what they are.

You and Sheik help set up a few of the encampments, Aveli sticking with her mother and relaying some highlights of her recent battles. She does talk quite highly of you, though you’re not quite sure you agree with how much she talks you up. With things set up, some of the Gerudo take the opportunity for downtime, and you’re brought to the woman as they start to plan their next moves.

There’s a bit of commotion at the end of the camp, but doesn’t seem to be an attack or anything of the sort. Still, might be worth looking into, you don't want any more surprises...

“If you don’t mind my asking, I recall mention that fortress being ancient, and it seems quite large. Do the Gerudo have any history with it... ah...” You only now realize you don’t know the woman’s name. “Mrs. Draggai?”

“Telma Draggai, Elite Iron Knuckle.” she corrects you, noticing your realization with an amused smirk. “Ah, and there’s quite a tale there... about a hundred years ago it was one among a trio that dotted the desert. They’re... hrmn, around 200 years old at most, probably younger, though based on older structures. They were used by our people as large training grounds. Not proper settlements, but military encampments that would be used to train some of the best mercenaries. Decline started to hit them, desert conditions and monster attacks made them just not viable training grounds. They became proper fortresses, but time passed and their long-term viability started to stretch thinner and thinner. Last we ever had to make use of them was during the War. Two of the three ended up dust from relentless attacks by Ganon’s forces, and that last one was the sight of a valiant last stand. Saved our people from a catastrophic defeat by giving them a bitter, Pyrrhic victory.”

Curious. The place does look old, but you don’t recall mention of Gerudo fortresses during the war. ...Actually, why don’t you recall them being mentioned? Unless... “Their existence is not something most outsiders know about, is it?”

Telma taps her forehead. “You’re a quick one, Termina.”

“But... it’s on many maps. How have you covered up something like this? And why?”

“The ‘why’ is simple: so people don’t go looking into them. Minor bandits and the like can be easily driven away, and monsters are usually not interested in places like that. The old hag makes sure of that. But seems even her tricks falter with enough time.” the Iron Knuckle explains. “The ‘how’ is a bit trickier. We’ve never strictly kept them a ‘secret,’ but we never make it seem like something we’re personally involved in. That way we can use them again at a moment’s notice. We give out just enough information that people are aware of it, but think it nothing more than ruins.”

“...and you tell us this.” Sheik notes. “You seem to trust us with this secret.”

“You saved our people’s sacred grounds from corruption and you offered your help to us to clear the fortress out.” Telma states. “And my little desert flower speaks highly of you. I judge the two of you to be trustworthy.”

“I am humbled that you think so.” you state with a smile.

The commotion seems to grow louder as you hear the story... and you hear your name called. Okay, this might be worth looking into. As you politely excuse yourself, you head towards it... and find a peculiar sight. “Ah, right on schedule! Hello again, Miss Termina.”

>>C. Take the Hookshot. He did come here to bring it to you, after all

You and you're whole family are crazy Viol
>>
>>1070757
“Not that I don’t appreciate the effort, but... you could have just left the Hookshot with the Gerudo, back in their city.” you comment. It IS the way that involves less “getting captured,” at least.

“I made a promise, and I would rather ensure it is delivered to you directly.” he states with a calm smile. “I do apologize for the pottery, force of habit.”

You raise an eyebrow at that remark. “...Right. Well, listen, he’s no threat to you, and he means no harm. You can let him go.”

The Gerudo reluctantly move their spears from his face as you head to the bag holding, the Gerudo looking through it finding the Hookshot and, after looking to her fellow soldiers for confirmation, giving it to you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VRr9NG7RE0

You got a [Hookshot]! With it you can travel to any sturdy objects it can catch on to, or grab and pull certain items and enemies closer to you!

You put it on your arm and get a feel for the new item. Viol stretches his arms now that they’re free from resraints. “Like it? Good, good. Another satisfied customer. And let’s see... deduction of 100, and that comes tooooo... 150 Rupees.”

You hand him your payment. Not nearly the sting it would have buying the thing at full price, so you’ve still got some money left over from this. Good thing you took him up on his offer.

[Rupees: 278/500]

“...Will you be staying long, Viol?”

He shakes his head, counting his Rupees. “I’m not one for this kind of work anymore. I’ve got a different way of helping people. But I might see if the Gerudo could find use of my wares again.”

The soldiers around you seem to scoff at that, and admittedly, you’re not quite sure it would be the best of ideas. “If you say so.”

“Best of luck to you, Miss Termina!” he shouts as he gathers his bag and starts to walk off.

“...You know some strange people.”

“He’s not even close to the strangest.” you admit with a quick laugh. “Thank you again, Viol!”

An uneasy few hours pass after you get your Hookshot, Keaton returning shortly after, with the Gerudo preparing themselves. You notice a few figures move across the fortress every few minutes, and patrols closer and closer every hour. By midnight... the time comes.

“They’ll make a push soon enough. Expeditionary force will push back against them, thankfully their numbers are small, only in the few hundreds at most.” Telma states. “We’ll try for a pincer attack, flank them and circle around.”

“What about the Gibdo in the Fortress proper?” one Gerudo asks.

“Smaller team to enter in there and scout, and if possible, make a push to drive them out.” the Iron Knuckle replies, then giving a glance towards her daughter. “You’ll be on the pincer team, Aveli. That belt of yours will be handy in coordinating the strike.”

She shoulders her axe, looking to you and smiling. “Understood.”

Sheik turns to you. “What team do you think would benefit the most from your skills?”

>A. The expeditionary force; my magic will allow me to give good cover fire and soften up their ranks

“The pincer attack may be the best option. Riding with Keaton will allow me to move quickly, strike hard where their forces are weakest.” you tell the Sheikah. “If you are willing to assist me in this task, Keaton.”

‘Hee-hee-ho! My my, child, an interesting plan.’

“It... may not be my skills alone, but I’m starting to recognize a few things.” You give her a calm, warm smile. “Like I said, the best I can do for Hyrule on my own is bring together the people who can save it. Who will save it.”

Sheik nods in understanding. “Then I will assist you. Though... on foot, this time.”

You chuckle softly. “Of course.” You inform Telma of how you plan to help, explaining your abilities with the Crossbow and magical skill, and your ability to strike quickly with the help of the Keaton. Aveli grins wide after hearing of your plan, giving you a thumb’s up when the battle begins...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qweNUD_GzUo

An initial push from the Gerudo’s expeditionary force proves successful, the Fortress team getting the cover they need to circle around and head in. The swiftness in how they move and fight on this difficult desert terrain, it’s a sight to behold. They’re as graceful as they are vicious, the initial Gibdo numbers dropping slowly, but they start to push back and march forward.

The signal is given for the pincers to move in, you mounting Keaton and riding at the monsters, Aveli dashing behind you, with Sheik and the Gerudo behind her. You come close to a group of about 15 Gibdo, shambling towards the front lines. This is it...

To the Gibdo’s mild surprise, the woman on the giant fox creature bolting towards them doesn’t try to attack. No, you have better plans than that. You bring out your harp as you ride, Keaton slowing to make sure the song is heard by as many as you can get...

https://youtu.be/uoxWpmDUUNc

...and the Gibdo seem stunned, petrified by the soft tune. 10 of the 15 you were headed towards are completely immobile. Sadly the five that aren’t completely entranced seem to recognize the danger you pose, one of them lobbing a spear at you. You manage to dodge in time, but the other four seem to ready themselves...

...right for Aveli to come crashing through, bowling over the stunned ones and swinging her axe at a couple of the active Gibdo, knocking them down. “Need some help, Z?”

“You seem to know just when I need it.” you laugh in relief.

The other Gerudo march forth with Sheik, your ally also playing the Song of Healing for them to keep the Gibdo stunned. One manages to get a scratch at her, but it’s quickly toppled by Gerudo glaive.

Of the 15, only 7 remain

You and Keaton keep riding. The plan’s working, so no reason to stop now. You continue playing the Song of Healing, Keaton dashing and bolting at the Gibdos, knocking a few down like an orange bolt of lightning as it circles around them. Sheik continues playing as well, with Aveli leading the Gerudo to smash through the Gibdo forces.

The battle rages on, and as you push through, the fighting starts to close in with the main Gerudo force, cavalry visible in the distance. It’s been a good half an hour since the fight started, and you know that your presence there is going to catch something’s attention...

A sound from the Fortress catches your attention, some of the Gibdos shambling away from the main force. The sound... it’s an awful, horrid call, familiar to your ear but not quite one you can place. The sands underneath the Fortress seem to shift under the moonlight, some... THING under them creeping towards the battle, moving as easily as a fish moves through water.

Archers attempt to take shots at it, but under the sands it seems almost invulnerable. As a bony head pops out of the sands, Telma announces to her forces, “STALDRA!” Two more pop out with it... the beast, it’s like the cross between a dragon, Gibdo, and Stalfos. This looks bad... and it seems to focus all three heads on you.

You charge at the thing. It’s you it wants, and if you can keep it away from the Gerudo, the quicker this skirmish will be over. You draw your blade and let the moonlight reflect off of it, tilting it to catch the monster’s eyes with the sword and gain its attention.

The plan works, and the monster moves towards you...

You and Keaton keep your distance initially, but get in just close enough to let the Song of Healing play and catch the monster off-guard. From there, it’s a much more simple matter of letting your Sword Beam stab down at it. The heads are shaken, one blasted clean off as you get a lucky shot in... but to your dismay it regrows the missing head, and when the Song of Healing’s tune disappears from the air, it’s focused squarely on you.

As the monster chases you through the cold desert night, your allies are clearly having a stroke of luck, with Sheik carefully maneuvering through the battle and the Gerudo following her lead. Aveli especially seems to have her back, axe trading blows with Gibdo blades.

Still, you don’t have time to appreciate the sight for long. The Staldra chases after still, starting to learn to duck under the sands as you try to strike it with the Sword Beam. Though out of the corner of your eye, at the Fortress proper, you spot Gerudo... and what looks to be a massive cannon.

You use this monster’s fixation on you to your advantage. You bring it closer to the Gerudo scouts, signaling with your sword your approach. “I’ll keep it as occupied as I can! You fire when you’re ready!”

The monster appears from the sands and takes a snap at you with one of its heads, the Keaton dashing to the left to dodge, gracefully avoiding it. You then bring out your harp one more time, having Keaton circle around the beast as you play the Song of Healing. The entrancing song starts to not only stun the creature, but seemingly weaken it as well.

“CLEAR THE PATH!” one of the Gerudo shouts to you.

You do as told, Keaton darting away from the cannon’s path. You start to realize two things about this weapon: first is that it is truly massive, taking several people to even position it properly, the barrel longer than the Keaton is now. The second is the stranger thing: in addition to the cannonball, the cannon has another component.

Magic.

“FIRE!”

As the deafening boom of the cannon echoes through the desert, just what kind of magic makes itself abundantly clear; though it’s only for a brief moment, one you would have missed if you blinked, the cannonball is cloaked in brilliant flames, bringing light and heat to the cold night as it travels to the monster... and blasts it right in the center of its mass, with enough force that the beast seems to be torn apart. Blackened mist seeps from its remains.

Even the Gibdo and other Gerudo fighting seem startled by what just happened. The battle is clearly out of your foes favor now. The remaining Gibdo are driven into the desert or slain quickly, well over a hundred of them vanquished. Sheik and Aveli finally rejoin you, not without injuries themselves, but relatively safe. Telma congratulates her warriors on their hard-earned victory.

You feel like you’re going to have a number of questions to ask come sunrise. But for now... perhaps a well-earned rest.

Thanks for running this Quest. What post Gamecube/GBA era Zelda games you like?

And have you beatend Zelda 1 for the Nes? The game is very hard compared to later ones.

I unlocked it on the Animal Crossing for Gamecube but...

Why did the Wii era had to have suxh disapointed Zelda games? One was a port from the gamecube, the other was weird and well... the DS had so many RPGs that I don't remember what games Zelda had there honestly.

I am quite fond of Minish Cap for the GBA.

I do not have a Wii U and the 3DS was so... disapointing.

I have played Zelda 1, last time I did it was on the Gamecube Collection. I'd probably have to say Link Between Worlds as my favorite post-Gamecube title.

Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks take some getting used to, but they were fun titles. And Minish Cap was also fairly fun, at least to me.

Now, we're back!

You manage to get some rest in after the battle, the desert sunrise waking you. Seems the Gerudo did suffer some casualties last night; 145 wounded, 20 dead. Strikes an unpleasant memory as you recall the war all those years ago. Just one more reason you’re going to save Hyrule...

“Heeeey T! Rise and shine!” Aveli greets cheerfully.

Sheik tilts her head curiously at the girl as she approaches you. “Not spending some time mourning the dead?”

“Ceremony was over hours ago. Our sisters died in battle like warriors, a fate worthy of Gerudo.” she replies in... such a matter of fact way. “They’ll be taken to the Temple grounds soon enough, and their stories will be remembered there.”

Sheik seems to look to her with a large degree of understanding. “Of course. My apologies if that came off as presumptuous of me.”

The little blonde Gerudo shrugs. “No big. Still, you two get enough sleep?”

While there is something you need to get done, and hopefully soon... “I must admit, I was up an hour later than I wished to be. That cannon was weighing on my mind heavily. I certainly was not expecting something like that.”

Aveli looks towards the fortress, the weapon starting to reflect the rising sun. “Heh, heard rumors about her, but didn’t expect to see that beauty until I was much, much older.”

“I noticed it seemed to use Magic.” you comment, stretching and yawning.

“Supposedly based on an ancient spell that was used to empower bows with flames and frost. The cannon is merely... scaling it up a bit, you could say.” she laughs.

Well, might be a good idea to not let Horon know of it until he’s learned to be more careful with his current Magic... although...

“Ah my little desert flower’s really starting to bloom, isn’t she?” Telma chuckles as she approaches, Aveli mumbling “mooooom!” in an annoyed but affectionate tone. “And I take it you’ll be leaving soon, Miss Termina?”

“I am glad I could help your people, but there are things I need to do.” you explain. “Thank you for allowing me this opportunity.”

You and Sheik ride on Keaton as Aveli runs with you, keeping pace thanks to the Belt of Winds. The Sheikah seems to be doing better with the wild speed of the Keaton, though she’s still holding on to you fairly tight, amusing the little Iron Knuckle to no end. You cross the desert and the Gerudo City, the bridge linking the area to the rest of Hyrule recently repaired. The couple guards salute you and Aveli as you journey off away from the desert and into Hyrule Field proper.

You head towards Mount Hylia, remembering what the dragon asked of you. Best not to delay, like he requested. It’s a fairly quick ride, given how close the mountain is to the Gerudo Desert, but along the way Sheik tries her hand at conversation some more.

“I’m surprised you seem so eager to join the Princess on her quest, Aveli.”

“Hah! Are you kidding me? Helping the Heir to Hyrule save her Kingdom, stopping a monster of vengance born from my people, smashing monsters and getting stronger and stronger? How could I resist?!” she replies in a cheerful shout.

The Sheikah still holds to you tight as she talks. Her next comment sounds a bit more critical. “...You seemed interested in meeting Horon, too.”

“Hey, cute redheads are just a bonus!” Aveli laughs. “Especially if I don’t have an amazing woman like Z to compete against.”

You force yourself not to pout. If you didn’t know better you’d think Sheik did that on purpose. But you don’t really have much time to voice your own comments before you reach your destination. Keaton stops at the base of the mountain. “Hee-hee-ho! I’m sure he’s been waiting patiently. The task he asked of you could not have been an easy one for him to request.”

“Somehow... I think I can sympathize.” you add, gazing up at the mountains. Still, in spite of the great risk it put you at, you and your allies accomplished it. And you’re one step closer to saving Hyrule.

All right folks, that's it for this thread. I’ll be around for questions and such for a little while. Been a bit of a longer one, but we got to try something new out. So, did y’all have fun?

You still have the chance to get them, if you want. That path hasn't been blocked off to you, I promise.

Damn it Aveli, you have to have noticed by now.
Good thread Kato, thanks for running.

Fire Arrows after this. Any other sidequests we should know about?

Thanks for playing!

There are still three more Temples, a couple more special events, and a few more things to do. Of the ones you know of, there's Captain Douglas and getting mounted combat skills, some mini-games in the towns, and you've heard a little about the Lost Woods.

Light arrows are a must, they are the only anti Ganon Weapon that Zelda should be very good at using since she is supposed to be a trained archer.

Light Arrows will come, don't worry.
