After fighting for your life against some deadly monster, you're happy to be able to just sit down and have some food with friends.

Given the time of day, the pizza place isn't exactly crowded, and you see no sign of Rachael, who's probably still at school. So, it's nice and peaceful for you and your friends to sit there, take a load off, and enjoy some tasty food.

"I still can't believe how great this pizza is," Aria comments after taking another bite. "I should try to convince Lord Koenma to have this place cater his parties in Spirit World."

"Who's Koenma again?" Damon asks, setting his pizza down.

"The son of the great King Yamma," Aria answers before taking a sip of her soda. "He oversees the Spirit Detectives, Spirit Guides, and so on."

Damon's eyebrows shoot up. "Sounds like an important guy."

Aria rolls her eyes. "That's puttin' it mildly. But, anyway, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear that this case was wrapped up so quickly."

She takes another bite of her pizza.

She shrugs, chewing up another bite of her food. Swallowing, she looks across the table at you.

"That's up to Lord Koenma," she tells you matter-of-factly.

Sighing, you lean back. "Well, hopefully there won't be any more cases this week. I could use some rest."

Aria looks at you with sympathy. "Yes, ye could. But I'm afraid ye won't be able to do that for two long. After a day or two passes, I'm gonna have te give you some bits of trainin' and instructions. We can't let ye get rusty before yer next case."

"I'd be glad to help you practice," Damon tells you after taking a sip of his drink. "I could do with a good amount of training, myself."

And so, over the next week, you get into training, which usually involves a mixture of Aria giving you some sort of exercise to do (such as running around town) and sparring with Damon. He carries that trash-can-lid handle around with him at all times, and uses it to create his shield when the two of you fight, meaning that he always gives you a decent challenge.

In addition, Aria supplies you with two new detective items; the Communication Mirror, and the Concentration Ring.

"I have one of these, too," your assistant had said while holding up a mirror. "Just open it up and we'll be able to communicate face-to-face no matter where we are."

You tested it out once or twice. It works, not much else to say on that front. The Concentration Ring is something that might be worth a little more thought.

"It'll give your Spirit Gun extra power," Aria tells you, handing the object to you. "But, if you fire a Spirit Gun while using this ring, you're going to be drained afterwords, so use it as a last resort."

As your training progresses, you decide to take a bit of initiative, attempting to better your control of your Spirit Energy, and to use the flow of it when you work out. When you run, you channel Spirit Energy into your feet for a little extra boost. You channel it into your hands for push-ups, managing to do them with one finger thanks to that method.

By the time a week has passed, you think you've gotten just a little bit stronger. No massive leap, but you're improving. From what you can tell, so is Damon, but you aren't entirely sure by how much.

It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and your mother has told you to go find something to do instead of bumming it around the house.

Right now, you're simply walking down the sidewalk, trying to make up your mind on what to do today. You could give Aria a call, see if she has any training for you to do. Or maybe you can just find some excuse to hang out with her.

Maybe Damon wants to hang out, or just do some training, or go grab some pizza. Then again, maybe you could just drop by the pizzeria and see if Rachael's there.

Or, if you don't want to spend time with anybody, maybe a quiet walk through the woods would be nice. You also think you heard that this town has an arcade somewhere, so maybe that's worth checking out.

If you have to be out anyway, you might as well do something productive, like more training.

Making your way around town, you try to find a good place to stop and train. But, remembering that it's Saturday, you decide that some place like the woods or that field outside of town is really your only hope for some privacy.

Walking down the street, you try to work out what sort of training you want to do today. Should you go for a jog? Find a place to do some push-ups and sit-ups? Maybe you should see how strong you've gotten by punching a tree or something stupid like that?

"Hey," an unfamiliar voice calls as you continue on your way.

Stopping in your tracks, you turn around to find a young man staring at you.

You've never seen him around before, though judging by the way he's looking at you, he knows full-well who you are. He's clean-shaven, with messy, blonde hair, brown eyes, and, if you're not mistaken, pointed ears. He's dressed in jeans and a wife-beater, yet seems to have this weird air of superiority around him.

"You and I need to have a little talk, kid," he tells you with a smirk.

The man smirks, pointing a clawed hand in your direction. "Nah, turn around, kid. Just walk straight outta town. I'll be right behind you."

Not seeing much choice, you do as he says, turning around and slowly making your way toward the outskirts of town. Glancing over your shoulder, you see the man strolling leisurely behind you, the claws seeming to have retracted for the moment.

This might be a good chance to try and attack him. No, there's no way he's not ready for you to try that. If you try to attack him now, all that you're going to accomplish is getting your ass kicked, not to mention the possibility of collateral damage.

There's nothing to do but walk with the man, and ready yourself for whatever's coming. So, you make no effort to run or fight as you lead your new "friend" through town, and beyond.

He directs you away from the road once you're outside of town, and the two of you walk for a short while, soon moving down a hill to a flat, green area.

"That's far enough," the man tells you. "You can turn around, if you wish."

As he stumbles back, you give him a kick to the gut, causing him to hunch over as he continues to stagger away from you. Rushing toward him again, you throw another kick, only for your enemy to simply vanish into thin air.

Your eyes go wide, and you quickly look around for any sign of him. Unfortunately, you seem to be having no such luck, until he reveals his location himself.

Turning around, you find the man rubbing a bit of blood off his lip, but not looking all that hurt. In fact, he looks amused, if nothing else.

Alright, you'll have to be fast on your feet. Avoid getting gored, and hit him with everything you've got. If you can get some more hits in, and not let him slip away, you can make sure he doesn't get another chance.

The man slowly extends his hand, pointing his claws toward you. His lips slowly stretch into a smirk, and as you watch in disbelief, the claws detach from his fingers, flying toward you like bullets.

Closing your eyes and concentrating, you focus your Spirit Energy into your feet. With this, you should be able to move faster, and give stronger kicks.

Apparently taking your actions as surrender, the man gives another chuckle. "You don't want to see it coming? Fine, I'd be happy to make it a surprise."

Opening your eyes, you rush toward your foe even as he begins to approach you, moving with speed that he isn't ready for, and landing a solid right-hook to his nose. As he begins to fall back, you land another punch, this one successfully throwing him to the ground.

You intend to press the attack, but you enemy vanishes from sight again. This time, you're better prepared to search, and an upward glance reveals that he's leaped into the air.

Without really thinking, you jump after him, amazed at your vertical leap. Evidently, he wasn't counting on that, either. His eyes go wide as you suddenly reach his level, and before he can regain his senses, you give a strong kick to his gut.

The two of you descend back to the ground, with you landing in a crouch, and your enemy slamming down on his back. His hands go to his gut, and he grunts in pain.

As you rise to your feet, however, you can't help but let out a hiss as well, your wounds starting to bother you considerably. You may have hurt him, but this fight isn't over just yet.

Gritting his teeth in anger and pain, the demon rises to his feet, glaring at you with eyes full of rage.

"Alright, human," he spits. "Now I'm mad!"

He raises his left hand, fingers pointed toward the sky, and claws sprout as they did on his right hand. The demon holds both hands out toward you, releasing the claws as projectiles.
