QUEST BLOG (I know...): https://qm-vox.tumblr.com/

You are Brianna la Croix, necromancer, and after saving the world you are hosting a wake for those lost, because life just keeps going on and someone has to handle the shit.

Besides, a wake is a good thing. It's nice to embrace this part of your job.

The first day of the wake was always going to be sorta awkward and sorta solemn, so you break the ice by hosting the speaking for the dead on that day.

Hatchet has been laid out on a table. In accordance with Roost tradition, his body will be used to support his people, both as tools and as...

Well, harpies aren't hung up on eating things that used to be people. It's what he would have wanted, right down to the look of relief many people have after they realize that, yes, the Hatchet Man is really dead.

You speak first, in part because you're hosting this thing, and in part because James is giving you a significant look from the sidelines.

"I did not know Hatchet well," you admit. "What I did know intrigued me. He was wise, in his way, valorous, and skilled at what he did. In our brief association he taught me something about people I'd never really thought about before. While I am sorry that he never found what he was seeking, the Hatchet Man died at his best, something few people can claim, and his sacrifice liberated his home."

You raise a cup. "Drink hail!"

"Wassail!" comes the traditional response, and everyone takes their drinks. You give the floor to Nathan and head towards James. You have to lean on your cane, though that's not exactly new any more, is it?

"I need your decision," James says quietly.

"On - oh." You give him a flinty look. "...I'm going through with it."

"The family -"

"The family doesn't get to tell me what to do, James la Croix. I have heard your concerns. I agree with most of them and will work actively and enthusiastically with Starfall and with Greenwall to ensure that they are handled. I won't do this alone, and I won't do this uncontested. There will be staff at this academy, and people to which I have to answer. I'll /serve/, not rule, and if the Hardhome think that's a problem, they can come and take it out of my cold dead hands."

You can see Kat out of the corner of your eye, looking absolutely fucking stunned.

The vampire hunter looks you over, then nods. "I'll inform them," he murmurs. "For what it's worth, if anyone can do this, I believe you can."

"I appreciate it, James."

You are Brigette, called the Poet, and waking up without a hangover is still a new experience for you here lately. You disentangle yourself from Victoria (sadly, lodgings for the wake mean 'sleeping together' is actually just sleeping), sit up, and -

That's a Lora.

The angel makes a shushing motion and beckons you outside. You wiggle into a pair of pants, get to the door, realize you have no shirt on, and grab your coat instead. It'll cover you up, anyway.

"I guess I should have known we weren't done," you admit.

"You should have," Lora agrees. "...Brigette, I'd like to make you an offer. You are still in a unique position, after all. You cannot be permitted to just run loose."

You listen, grimly. Lora lights a cigarette and passes it to you before getting one of her own. It's one of Lark's, as you learn when you start choking on it.

"Revenge," Lora teases, and you wave irritably at her while you try to avoid dying.

"Just get on with it," you tell her. "I need breakfast."

"Alright. Essentially, Brigette, your future can look like one of two things. Both of them involve you not speaking the Divine Tongue for some time, outside of, potentially, training. Much saner training, not at a breakneck pace."

"...Okay..."

"One, I remove the ability and when you die your soul is re-forged. You cease to meaningfully exist and start over from the top. You can live the rest of your life free of me."

"The other?" you ask.

Lora gives you a smile full of mischief. "I remove the ability for the rest of Miss Victoria's natural life. You enjoy a certain agelessness during this period, and when she is gone and you have tidied up her affairs, you come with me to Arcadia as my apprentice. The gods have never had a mortal who can understand the Tongue. I think they could use the perspective, and the challenge, of it. And...I'd like to have you around."

"You'd make me a god?"

"More of a cut-price demiurge, but...yes. It takes a particular kind of person to handle immortality, Brigette. I think that kind of person could be you."

You smoke in silence for a long while. Lora doesn't pressure you; from the way she shifts in place, looking around and stretching her wings with a shy smile, she's got no need to sully her regained freedom by demanding pieces of anyone else's. It's nice to see her smile, a real smile, at long last.

"It's a big decision," you say at last. "...This is literally my entire future."

"You can always choose to die later," Lora points out. "Even the gods have that freedom."

"And how many of them have taken it?" you ask, curiously.

"More than you might think. Only one god has ever been executed, but more than one has died. Some of their divine children have moved on to the Sunless Lands, for various reasons. It's always your choice, Brigette."

You look back at the open door. Victoria's still sound asleep, looking more at peace than she has in years. You still don't know what you did to deserve her.

"The offer extends to her as well," Lora tells you, softly. "...But I don't imagine she'll take it. We've talked, she and I. She...given everything between the three of us, it seemed right."

"What'd she say?" you ask.

"That she won't spend her life running from me."

You nod. That sounds like Victoria, and you're not even sure you really disagree. "I'll ask her. But...for me? I accept."

Lora turns and takes your hand before starting to speak in the Divine Tongue. You feel her will enclose you, binding you from using the language in the waking world until such a time as you enter Arcadia. You feel relieved, oddly enough. Maybe because it's finally over, and this isn't hanging over your head any more?

That's probably it. This has been darkening your life for ten years, and now the light is finally being let in.

"This isn't an elaborate ruse to get in my pants, is it?" you ask, a little warily.

Lora shakes her head. "Your advice was good. And...I have someone else in mind. If he'll have me."

You laugh and grin. "You know, I'm surprised your parents agreed to this."

"...'Agreed' might be a strong word for it."

You are Brianna la Croix, keeping your word, some two months after the fall of the Master.

Cobalt declines to travel with the Thirdborn. He leaves one lonely night, with little more than the Six Demon Bag and Hatchet's compass, given to him by Lora.

"It's not over, him and me," Flitter mutters, from Yew's shoulder. "It won't be over for a long, long time."

"Flitter," you protest, and then you sigh. "...Nevermind."

It's a long march, but at the end of it you find a curious city. At first you think the place is under construction and then you realize, no, they really are just always rebuilding things. The telltale whiff of alchemy hangs on the air, acrid and strange.

You knock on the door of the inventor's house and explain that you are looking for Cuckoo and her companion, Jack the Lesser.

"I give up," Jack the Lesser says with a sigh, before he invites you in.

"I guess..." Briony begins, uncertainly. "I dunno, I guess part of it was not wanting to be second choice. And part of it was not wanting to be left by someone again. I mean, it's the Roost. Everyone gets left by someone. People die, people go to other parts of the Dungeon. I thought I was over it, and...and I wasn't. And that was shitty of me."

"You're pregnant, aren't you?"

"Extremely."

You are Hunting Talon, expectant father, and you give Briony a hug from behind and fold her in your wings. "We're still not dating," you murmur.

"Good," she shoots back, nestling in. "I wouldn't have you anyway."

* * * *

You are River la Croix, and the forests are just as quiet as you remember. It's been getting harder to go forward, fear and guilt making your steps heavy. What are you going to say, to do, when it's time? It's been decades since you saw your parents, and you left without even saying goodbye.

They must hate you for it. You know you do.

"Here it is," Lark tells you. He pulls on a vine, which looks like any other vine dangling from the branches of the massive tree supporting your home village. A bell rings, high above, and enchantments work the lift upon which you stand. You pull your hood back and take a deep breath.

The spear-wielding guards at the top are not unexpected, though they are annoying.

"|Who are you, necromancer?|" the one in front demands.

"|My name is River la Croix. My parents are Dusk and Elm, and I have come home to see them,|" you answer, patiently. "|I come in peace.|"

A voice calls your name, and every head turns to see your father running towards you. The guards step aside to let Elm pull you into a tight, tearful hug.

"|I am sorry|," you murmur, your ears flat against your head. Your own vision swims with hot tears that soak the back of Elm's cloak. "|I'm so sorry, Father.|"

"|You must come with me,|" he insists, stepping back from the hug with an odd smile. "|Ever since your letter arrived, your brother has been eager to meet you.|"

"I told you they'd be happy to see you," Lark murmurs in your ear as your father starts to lead the way. "You should explain about your new name sooner rather than later."

<And introduce me!> Whisper insists.

<One thing at a time. It might be rude to give my father a heart attack.>

The news that makes the round in Greenwall is that a conspiracy has been charged with the mass murder of the residents of the Blind Marsh. The evidence presented at the trial is shockingly comprehensive, and the engineer - one Deirdre - confesses her guilt immediately upon being captured. The trial is lengthy, as trials involving the nobility tend to be.

Two men and one woman are hung by the neck until dead. The engineer, worse for drink and driven by her personal demons, survives due to the intercession of one Brianna la Croix.

"Your life is now mine, and I do not want it," the necromancer is on record saying. "Earn it back from me."

You are Brianna la Croix, matriarch of the Dungeon la Croix, and the years go by like leaves in the wind, bringing change with them. Jewel helps with the delivery of what turns out to be both her next brother and her next sister, which you name Jack and Page, respectively. Two years later, in the midst of the construction of Henrietta's new academy, you name the third child of your body Madeline, after your grandmother. Amy's feather-haired children are Nathaniel Junior (over Nathan's objections and with Natalia's wry support), Lora, Hatchet, and Carol. They don't have wings, but they all figure out how to jump nearly weightlessly far younger than any of you were really ready to chase after children who can clear a twenty foot vertical.

Glen in general has a small explosion of young ones, encouraged by its brush with death, the air of excitement and change, and the enthusiasm of the Roosters. Harry and Isoldt end up married, and their own children spend quite a lot of time with yours, and vice versa.

Talon and Briony's too, for that matter. They've had three so far and haven't bothered with the whole 'marriage' idea. Someone tried to shit talk Briony for that once. Just once.

Your classes are a good fit for you. You have seven students, including Carol, who was interested in the most traditional part of the family business from a young age. Being able to stay in and near the academy is good for you, considering the damage you suffered in the years gone by. Nathan helps train the Dungeon's militia; Amy has, to everyone's significant surprise, gone political. She represents the Roost to the rest of the Dungeon, sitting on the council which rules for the collective good.

You are preparing for a lesson when there is a knock on the classroom door, and Lora steps in with a solemn expression.

"Already?" you ask, and you let out a ragged cough.

"It's been fifteen years, Brianna," your friend tells you. "...You could have cut back on the smoking too."

"Over my dead...fuck."

"Mmhm."

"There's still so much to do, though," you protest. Lora pulls a chair up to the opposite side of your desk and sits.

"There is always much to do, Bri. It's time for you to move on."

You sigh, then nod. "Let me write out some instructions."

You have a will and testament at home. When your good lung had started giving out, you felt it prudent to take care of. What you write now is a final set of instructions on what is to be done with your body, how to safely lock up the classroom, and who should be informed immediately about your passing.

'Carol gets my hat, and I will haunt any wretch who dares contest it', you finish, before signing the letter with a flourish. Lora offers her hand, which you take.

The transition to a dark, warm place is smooth, almost dream-like. Behind you, you can feel the Iron Lands, and Life, where you were.

Ahead of you, a figure walks out of the gloom, with skin as dark as yours and a familiar, guilty grin.
>>
>>1295279
"Took you long enough," Aunt Carol scolds, without real venom. "Are you ready for your next adventure?"

You yank her into a crushing hug before following her, into the darkness, and the Sunless Lands.

* * * *

You are Carol la Croix, daughter of Amy, Brianna, and Nathan la Croix. It has been three years since Brianna died, and you have become a journeyman necromancer in your own right, given the ring and with it Henrietta's sanction to practice in Starfall. Things haven't been quite the same without Brianna, but it was her time, and she died with great deeds behind her.

You didn't need the reminder of it, though.

"Brianna la Croix is dead?" the male pixie repeats, buzzing worriedly. Your surviving parents (and your siblings, except for Kat - she left for Wrackholm a year and a half back, curious about the pirate city) nod with expressions ranging from resignation to irritation.

"I was her student, and am her daughter," you offer, helpfully, because by unspoken agreement the necromancer gets to deal with the fairy. Lucky you.

"Well...I suppose you will do," the pixie agrees. "My mistress, the Iron Banshee, has been made aware that your family had a powerful and selfless friendship with her sister, Mistress Silence. She sends this in honor of that friendship."

The pixie sets down a pair of figurines, which immediately swirl with mist. Everyone steps back, putting hands on weapons, but the people who stagger out have familiar features. Dark skin, thick hair. The man wears a cloak whose pin depicts the family crest; the woman's dress is decorated with skulls and roses.

The man says something you don't understand.

"|Try demonic?|" you prompt.

"|I am Jackson la Croix, cartographer,|" he says in relief. "|My wife and I have finally been conveyed from the Mistlands. Where in the Empire are we?"|

"|...Oh boy. You might want to sit down.|"

I'd sate your feedback addiction, man, but it's finals week for me and I'm trying to build a 3-way associative cache while writing three essays.

I'll say this though, this is one of the few circumstances where I think that "Main character dies at the end" both works well and was absolutely mandatory.

Just want to say thanks for writing Vox, can't wait for the next adventure.
>>
Cannot believe it's over, good job vox.

So when is Cinderella sanction then? You going to take a break first?
>>
>>1295313
And that's that.

Been a hell of ride, Vox. A hell of a ride.

I'll admit to having some questions though. Like, where was the Academy actually built? How did Bri get around the issue of 'This will need a ton of death energy and corpses'? Asking about the identities of the other students seems like way too much of a draw, but what was the deciding factor on them learning Necromancy from her? I mean, I'm assuming one was put up by Henrietta to have an official court necromancer under her, but I'm imagining Bri had some sort of test or question to try and read the prospective students.

And then there's the matter of just what Bridgette and Victoria got up to, besides making sweet passionate love. With the Divine Language capped and her bonds broken, Bridgette can leave the Atheneum, and given the still cool attitude towards her, she might want to get out and spend some sweet time in the sun with Victoria. Then if you don't mind my asking, when she becomes Lora's assistant/servant/demiurge, what's she actually going to be doing?

Then there's the question of did we ever get Lora to come to a family gathering and eat hilariously hot gumbo with us?

... OK, that's maybe a bit much, but there's a few more questions I had.

We kind of passed the buck on the question of who the Dungeon really belongs to back to Lora. Did that ever get sorted out? Is she thinking about becoming a full time God, or is she working her old job? I'm assuming that she's at least a little bit happier with it.

And did she ever take Riley on that date?
>>
>>1295701

I'll admit to having some questions though. Like, where was the Academy actually built? How did Bri get around the issue of 'This will need a ton of death energy and corpses'? Asking about the identities of the other students seems like way too much of a draw, but what was the deciding factor on them learning Necromancy from her?

The Academy ended up built into the Mine. It has space, is easily accessible via the Roost, has a low outside population and is convenient to the Athenaeum. Hunting expeditions into the Sunless Sea and the Roost help provide both the death and the corpses needed for the small necromancy program, which works primarily with animal corpses as a result, supplemented by the rare but welcome gift of corpses donated post-mortem by their former owners. Most of those end up regifted back to the healers, though, as their apprentices need to learn too.

Bri's two outstanding prospective students - the harpy boy and the one-armed pirate - made good on her offer of instruction. Carol was always fascinated with the family history and wanted to continue the tradition of necromancy. Henrietta sponsored a student whose eventual role will be to advise the greater kingdom on necromancy. The young man who shot Bri in the Cornucopia showed up without a whole lot of talking about why, but Bri had a pretty good idea when she learned he was dual enrolled in healing.

The first thing they both did was go check on their families. It's been ten years since either of them saw their parents or siblings, or anyone else for that matter, and they had some catching up and some explaining to do. After a bit of debate on the matter they decided to finish out their formal education so they could at least say they did, and then set off to travel the world. Victoria took up writing about her travels and the cultures of the world, including and especially the Dungeon. Brigette never published, but inns the world over will tell you odd stories about the Ghost of Autumn and her bride with the slit throat, who pays too much for everything and won't take her change back and has a new song every time she comes through.

As for Brigette's time in Arcadia, her chief duty is representing a mortal perspective and mortal interests before the gods while being able to practice the Tongue in a safe environment. Her presence in Arcadia is not exactly announced from the highest rooftops, though she does come back every now and again to check on the Dungeon and the la Croix.

> Then there's the question of did we ever get Lora to come to a family gathering and eat hilariously hot gumbo with us?

Oh yes.

> We kind of passed the buck on the question of who the Dungeon really belongs to back to Lora. Did that ever get sorted out? Is she thinking about becoming a full time God, or is she working her old job? I'm assuming that she's at least a little bit happier with it.

Lora isn't pushing aggressively to establish a church, but one is forming in the Dungeon, gathered around Emily. Its primary theology could be best summed up 'You can't win. Fight me anyway.' Many of the new healers in the Dungeon can be found wearing the feather-and-sword symbol that's become associated with Lora.

> And did she ever take Riley on that date?

That's who she was talking about with Brigette, yes.

>>1295851
> Riley x Lora did it work out? Did it lead to little angelings?

Yes, no. Lora has...reservations...about creating life, reservations which Riley respects.

Given her injuries and how the Academy was set up in the Mine, I'm assuming that the Dungeon La Croix, not to be confused with the Rose Dungeon La Croix (that seems like it's going to bug future historians and students taking notes) set up their permanent house there?

And, sad as it is, what happened with the Blind Marsh? Did it just stay a part of that Kingdom? Did the water-levels ever drop enough for Bri to return and make a memorial?
>>
>>1296415
> Before I forget, are we ever going to get a slice of life epilogue in the future?

Maybe. I can't promise you anything but chances are I'll need a brain break from Cinderella at some point and that's an easy thing to tap for a one-shot or three.

> ....does anyone actually know he can talk, well, think, at any rate?

The gods suspect, but they're letting him work it out on his own.

> What about River and Lark?

Fairly mobile. River needed time away from Brianna's shadow, and the both of them have lots of time to expend. They'll likely settle down at /some/ point.
>>
>>1296461
Did Bridgette ever take a godly name after the arcadia training?

Like the ghost of autumn or the poet or something?

Also, how many kids did harry and isoldt have? And what did the other La Croix Spawn besides carol end up wanting to do with their life?
>>
>>1296451
> What's Natalia up to? Just teaching and helping her gear-grinder children?

Mainly. She's also chiefly responsible for the general defense of the Dungeon from threats above and other threats underground, and teaches fencing in her free time as a hobby. Being a grandmother has agreed with her.

> Given her injuries and how the Academy was set up in the Mine, I'm assuming that the Dungeon La Croix, not to be confused with the Rose Dungeon La Croix (that seems like it's going to bug future historians and students taking notes) set up their permanent house there?

Yes. Also notable is the cultists are just the Rose Cult la Croix, regardless of location.

> And, sad as it is, what happened with the Blind Marsh? Did it just stay a part of that Kingdom? Did the water-levels ever drop enough for Bri to return and make a memorial?

With no one else willing or able to contest the claim, the Blind Marsh remains part of Greenwall. There is talk of rebuilding the dam, but the project would be massive in scope and right now there's no payoff in doing so. It remains drowned.

> Did Bridgette ever take a godly name after the arcadia training?

Not really. Those who know she's up there usually refer to her as the Poet if they don't want to use her name.

> Also, how many kids did harry and isoldt have?

They managed to stop at three, mostly at Harry's insistence. Their oldest is in line to inherit the forge, while the other two are dabbling in other careers. There is talk of apprenticing their youngest to Brooks.

> And what did the other La Croix Spawn besides carol end up wanting to do with their life?

Page and Jack, nearly inseparable, get into alchemy together, learning at the Academy where Bri teaches. Madeline spends a lot of time in the Roost with Amy's parents, learning smithing and engineering from the dwarves there. Nathan Junior joins up with Starfall's military the minute he's eligible, in part to go out and Make A Difference, and in part because his father kept trying to advise him not to. Lora, inspired by her namesake's new faith, takes up healing. Hatchet takes an offer to apprentice with Cooke, and is home twice a year, where he complains endlessly about the Secondborn only to shoot down any and all suggestions that he should do something else if demons make him so unhappy. Isoldt teases him endlessly.

>>1296505
what's the general disposition of the rest of the La Croix family with the new dungeon academy?

Does flitter ever get her wings back?
>>
>>1296505
I'm gonna miss that succubutt.
>>
>>1296511
> What's the general disposition of the rest of the La Croix family with the new Dungeon academy?

For some time there is no official communication on the matter, until one of the Hardhomes, one Jacques la Croix, shows up to offer his services as an assistant in the alchemy department. Brianna chooses to take the lack of assassins as a follow-up as tacit approval.

> Does flitter ever get her wings back?

She and Yew spend some years tracking a wraithsteel roc through the high mountains. Flitter has new wings made from its metallic feathers and vanishes shortly thereafter, looking for her revenge against Cobalt. Yew takes the rest of the metal to his siblings and waits for her to come back home.
>>
>>1296521
>Looking for her revenge against Cobalt.
This makes me pretty sad.
>>
>>1296521
Dawww, Yew has a special someone now. Hope he knows how to play around with that wraith steel. For obvious uses.
>>1296528
Yup, kinda reminds me of Gin from the end of his ark in Bleach.
>>
>>1296528
>>1296531
who knows? They may even end up friends at the end of it. Life is strange, even for those who don't age.
>>
>>1296505
>Hatchet takes an offer to apprentice with Cooke,
Is Henrietta's heir getting a "cook" too?

What did Kat end up doing before the pirate thing?
>>
>>1296521
Do shadows need to breathe? Could they go underwater if there was enough light for them?

How did Seraphina end up?
>>
So....what do we do now? I cant think of anything else to read after this, anyone got a recommendation?
>>1296551
Did the new "Hatchet"/Cook get with the new Henrietta? Did the regular Henrietta and Cook have a few younglings? Did the duchess of finance have a few kids along with her adopted Harpy kids?
>>
>>1296657
also her cultists
>>
>>1296692
Oh yeah, what became of them after they crawled out of the hole Richard slept in?
>>
>>1296521
Just wanted to say good job on actually finishing you quest. It's something very few QMs can claim. It was a fun ride, thanks for everything Vox!
>>
>>1296521
Now really want to see Jackson la Croix reaction to the news and the fact that his sword is there, who even got it after Bri died or before if she gave it to someone?
>>
>>1296828
I imagine Reunion giving Jackson an ear full for leaving him behind in a place where it couldn't even do their job!
>>
>>1296828
cooke had it last, but presumably he gave it back after the fight
>>
>>1296505
What happened to Kat? Is she still unique, or are there more sentient shadows now?

I appreciate having had you around, incidentally. Remind me when you're feeling better and/or up to it to ask you for advice on improving my lewds writing.

>>1296551
> Is Henrietta's heir getting a "cook" too?

Who knows? He needs to finish his apprenticeship before anyone gets anything.

> What did Kat end up doing before the pirate thing?

Helping Bri, mainly. Brave face or no, Brianna had issues with her mobility and endurance after everything was said and done. Kat stayed on to help her mother out and only left after Brianna died.

>>1296657
> Do shadows need to breathe? Could they go underwater if there was enough light for them?

Shadows don't need to breathe but the light refraction underwater tends to play merry hell with their sense of direction and distance.

> How did Seraphina end up?

At the time of Brianna's death, Seraphina was spending time with Henrietta, learning about the complications of governance and political power. Her official title in Starfall is the Minister of Divinity, but she acts more like a seneschal, speaking with Henrietta's voice.

Lora eventually came back for Seraphina's cult. Long talks were had about how bad they done fucked up and the opportunities before them in the future. Many chose to stay within the Redoubt, becoming the new defenders of the Sanctum. Those who elected to leave were furnished with the funding to travel elsewhere. Many, staying together, went to the Harrow in search of a fresh start. The remainder went north, into what used to be Seraphina's holdings, trying to put their lives back together.

>>1296662
Travis Cooke would be the first to tell you that he is in no position whatsoever to 'get with' Henrietta. Her eventual marriage to one of Wrackholm's "nobility" helped solidify the island city's push towards sanctioned democracy, which Henrietta wholeheartedly supported. All signs point to a happy marriage.

Travis got into a knife fight with one of the humans from the Roost, lost his pinky finger on his left hand, and later married the woman in question. She is rapidly becoming more feared than the cook himself is, if only because if he's not around she has a tendency to 'forget' that she's not supposed to hurt you first.

Amalie's oldest daughter (who was fostered to the Roost) grew up into a career in diplomacy, and would later be joined by three brothers.

>>1296828
Hatchet currently has Reunion.

>>1296892
There have been sapient shadows /before/, but she's rare in both not running wild and in having a soul. Aside from her current residence in Wrackholm, she spends a lot of time with geargrinders and created sapient undead, looking for what it means to be Thirdborn.
>>
>>1296905
>Hatchet currently has Reunion.
Somehow I had a feeling this was the case, Is Reunion a bit happier now?
>>
>>1296914
Very much so, and the thing about summonings is Reunion gets the chance to constantly meet new people, some of whom try to kill its master.
>>
>>1296922
That sounds like a barrel of laughs, I am now imagining the talking sword from The Familiar of Zero series. Derf or something like that.

Hey vox. Picked up this quest midway through and have been following it since. Happy it's completed but sad it's over. Top notch writing and never failed to choke me up or make me cheer. Thanks for sticking it out and taking us to the end.
>>
Late to the party, but it's been a wild and enjoyable ride. Thank you for sharing.
>>
Anyone got any recommendations to go too after this? Because I have been here solely for Vox, and I want to know if there is anything else to do on this particular board.
>>
>>1297112
Archives, play in other good quests or start your own quest.
>>
>>1297112
Personally I like Hive Queen Quest.
Black Company Quest also has its moments.
>>
>>1297187
Welp...guess I'm off folks. GG, may I see ya'll glorious bastards elsewhere. Chocolate Bird love is best love, next to ginger elves.
>>

Thanks for the good times Vox.

Am I too late to post this again?

>>1297201
Damn, I fell asleep and missed the end. Well, I just want to say - in case Vox pops back on and sees it - I have immensely enjoyed every part of this. I've been around since very early, though mostly lurking, and hell I even helped with the kickstarter, got the book lying right here and everything - hope to God I get time to read it soon. Vox, you're an awesome writer, I've loved almost every part of this quest, and I can't wait to see more from you in the future.

Also...I'm sorry I haven't been able to make any more of the audiobook yet. Lot of stuff popped up one thing after a-goddamned-nother for the past full year, including losing my grandpa and my job. But, now that this is over...maybe it's time to try again?

Regardless, I can't believe the wild ride is finally over, and now that Mr. Bones has let me off...I only wish I could climb back on. See you when we see you, Vox, thanks for the great time!
>>
>>1297699
I'd love to get back with ya on that, yeah! Glad to see you here again, my friend.

>>1297682
Never too late, my friend.
>>
>>1295320
Much thanks for writing it all, Vox!

Its been hell of a fun ride, with awesome lore and extremely loveable characters.

I'll second HQQ and also add Mecha Space Pirate Quest to recommendations.
>>
>>1298490
Posting from my phone, I got called into work At the new job. If there is still interest in it on your end, I should be able to hunt down my microphone and get another thread done this weekend. If this trend is still up by then, I'll let you know here when it's up
>>
>>1298665
Badass. Otherwise you can find me via the Tumblr, my friend.
>>
>>1298902
Well, then, let's hope I can get this done this weekend. I assume I'd need a tumblr to send you a tumblr message, and I've managed to avoid that thus far, blessed be our lord.
>>
>>1298922
Eh, we'll figure something out. You can also find me on the /qtg/ Discord if that works out better?
>>
>>1297112
I enjoy the Lost in the Seventies quest series, along with whatever JoJo's Bizarre Adventure quests pop-up. Both of those often have similar styles to Vox.

I am also currently following:
Beyond the Gate (my #1 recommendation)
Gorgon Child (my #2 recommendation)
Lost Island (my #3 recommendation)
Overwatch (by Ravenking)
PHASE Superhero
Worm Quest
Skeleton Quest
European Dragon
Fantasy Goat
>>
>>1299248
Death Among the Stars is pretty awesome too, in its own way. And the protagonist is a lich! Any quest with an undead MC is guaranteed fun times.
>>
>>1299309
That's why I miss Sanguine Quest.
>>
>>1299248
>Overwatch

I've been meaning to have a look at this, care to give an overall impression?
>>
>>1301501
Overall, an (in-game) semi-realistic depiction of what it might be like to try and be the new Overwatch as a new 'recruit' at the point in time which we (IRL player) play the actual game.

Author does take some liberties with characters, though they are generally small and unobtrusive. I like it, though some disagree on the threads instead of just leaving.
>>
>>1298930
The bad news is that I'm still looking for my mixing box, I need that to connect my microphone to my computer. The good news is that I have found my microphone, and I saw the Power Rangers today. I'm not going to lie, that was a lot better than I thought it was going to be
>>
>>1307031
But don't worry, there's only a couple of more boxes that my mixing box could be in. I should be able to find that in the morning once I get home from work, and hopefully I'll be able to record the next thread before I go in tomorrow night
>>
>>1307031
>>1307037
Badass. I'll be keeping an eye on the thread.
>>
>>1307513
Sent you a message on Tumblr, hopefully I'll have mp3 files to upload soon.
>>
>>1299309
As far as I can tell, it starts at thread 40 on suptg. Did the first 39 threads not get archived?
>>
>>1309773
Nah, previously started on /tg/ then moved here. If you can't access them through the archive, then something must have gone wrong, in which case...sadness.
>>
>>1309747
Excellent. Comcast data caps will keep me offline until April 1st, but I'll get with you then.
>>
>>1309910
Oh, did you want me to hold off uploading it till you can hear it, then? Not a problem, if so

Cool! I remember seeing something said about how updates to the archives caused some threads to get deleted, which obviously causes big problems for quests like these.
>>
