In this thread I will cover EVERYTHING. If you have a question about a segment or want another summary, I will be glad to make one for you. I will also answer any question that anyone might have. Even if it's a spoiler, I will answer it in spoilers. This may be your last chance to ask these questions!
So, let's get started.

Our summary thus far:

Heroes, that's a good way to describe them. Protectors of the world, and legends throughout history. Heroes have defended kings and kingdoms for thousands of years since time immortal. It's unclear exactly when the tradition began, but their purpose has always been to maintain the peace and stability of your world. Men and women brought from spaces beyond understanding to act as leaders and protectors. These heroes are not elected by mortal hands, but by the supernatural to protect the world. Thus far, the world has seen the introduction of six such heroes into its ranks.

Jack Albator, the fearless hunter of the seas from Biscotti.
Cody Remington, a cunning and skilled gunfighter who protects Pastillage.
Yuuki Kuschinashi, the beautiful and talented valkyrie of Bruschetta.
Dorje, The small-but-mighty martial artist who hails from Carancha.
Louise Lacerte, The energetic princess-hero of Gallete.
and finally Kayda, the spirited fire of Konditorei.

Typically, kings and queens tend to be the ones who summon them. Though, heroes themselves are very much for the protection of the entity known as the 'barrier'.

The barrier is an ever-present entity which acts sort of like a shield. Some think it's a deity, some think it's the natural result of living beings and the bonds they form. In either case, the barrier itself protects people by separating the spirit from the physical. Essentially allowing people a second chance to escape the clutches of death.

Heroes are people who are granted superhuman and supernatural abilities by the barrier. Typically, normal humans are not very strong, and lack many of the necessary skills to perform magic without years of training. To a hero, this art is a second nature. A hero lives and breathes the essence of the barrier, and receives the strength to face any challenge head-on.

These heroes have been living in Floneyard in relative peace until recently. Jack Albator, the cunning hero of Biscotti, was the first to pick up on the problems afflicting the land. His travels and adventures brought him across many hardships and difficulties. Through his hand-picked team, and his top-notch leadership; he has overcame many great obstacles to uniting the land.

That seems like a good forward. You turn the page back to the first blank page you come across. It's time to start on another chapter.

You are Aligot Aujus. You've taken the brief respite you have from normal, everyday life to work on that recollection book you've been meaning to write. You currently sit inside of a carriage that is slowly making its way to Biscotti over the course of several days. While one day has passed; you still have plenty of time to write before you reach your destination.

Where did you leave off? Oh right, you left off on the attempts on Biscotti castle by the foreign nation of Konditorei. Then you covered the attempted coup by Gallete. Those were fairly hard to write about, as you had very little first-hand experience with what transpired or how they were even corrected by the authorities. You mostly just have second-hand knowledge and eyewitness accounts from people whom you talked to after the fact. So now, you start to pen a new chapter regarding a new subject of which you have some more experience in.

'The maid of Konditorei', that's a good chapter title.
The hero of Konditorei, Kayda, stayed in the care of her summoner. Her summoner being none other than the princess of Konditorei, Greta. Greta lived a very hard life. Her parents were expecting a male heir, and thus never fully gave control of the kingdom to her after their deaths. This caused an uproar in Konditorei and resulted in the kingdom splitting apart at the seams when Kayda was summoned.

To counteract this; Clair, the royal retainer and head maid of Konditorei, traveled alongside Greta. She at first seemed like a mild-mannered and overprotective guardian to Greta. Going as far as to keep Greta locked in her room for her safety. This maid was soon found to have a very dark, and hidden ambition.

You should head this information up on some background on Greta. You really only found a lot of it out by going through old historical records of Konditorei. If it weren't for those, you would have no context as to what happened with her.
You turn a page over, and start a new section on just her.

Greta was born to the house of Konditorei about ten years ago. Despite her nobility she didn't have an easy upbringing. Her mother passed away when she was only a few years old, and her father shortly afterward. The death of both ruling heads of Konditorei sent the country into an uproar. Greta, at the time, was far too young to inherit the throne. This meant that someone had to be put in place to hold the throne until Greta came of age.
Which set the stage for one of the most trecherous men in Konditorei. Greta's uncle, and then retainer of the throne, took power shortly after his brother's death. He instilled new measures and rules which would have prevented Greta from taking the throne, and also keep him and his line in power for as long as possible. If it weren't for one declaration made before the King's demise, it would have worked out. The king stated that whoever married his daughter would become king of Konditorei shortly before his death. This put Greta in the position where her being married would result in her taking the throne.

Which made it a necessity for Greta to be protected after the King's death. He assigned the person whom he believed to be the most trustworthy for the job. Clair was the head-maid for Konditorei at the time, and had a stellar record of service throughout her years serving the royal family. She became Greta's retainer, and was the one who would oversee her ascension to the throne. Clair was born to a poor family in a village outside of her country, but found her way to the castle after a series of very tactical decisions on her part. She was mostly described as extremely cold, and calculating. Though, those who knew her also described her as having a heart as bright as the sun. The truth of the matter may never be known, as the Clair who became Greta's retainer soon developed aspirations of her own. Desires which would lead her to betray her country and steal away the next-in-line in hopes of retaining that last glimmer of power for herself. This plan would have failed immediately, if it werent' for a very special person who Greta summoned.

I had to go do some math for this one!
Yuuki is 5'9'', Her three measurements are (and I may be wrong here), 37-24-38. She is very much described as having an ideal figure, but is also a tad on the busty side. Not to mention years of training has strengthened her leg muscles to be larger than normal. Her dress hides most of that, though.

When I want to describe her looks; I have an image for that. But that image is only from the shoulders up, so I have to use other references.
>>
>>1311303
Oh boy. I'm going to make a ton of mistakes and maybe freaky measurements if I try to do that with every girl. Not to mention Yuuki was hard enough as it was from just my mental image of her.

What I'll do instead is post height/cup of the adults(or at least those you could have romanced). If you want more specific measurements for a specific person, let me know.
Okay, let's go through some heights, then. (US Sizes)

Atsuko - 5'3", A.
Akiko - 5'9", D
Alicot - 4'12", B.
Felice - 5'6", B
Pomelo - 5'11", D
Odelle - 5'2", A
Charlotte - 5'9", B
Camille - 5'10", DDD
Tuile - 5'8", DD
Dragon girl - 5'4", D
Madeleine - 20', DDDD

Is senescence something that applies to... anyone in this world, or has their magic pretty much solved that? I'm not sure if Atlas or whatever his name was still being around is meant to be impossible based on characters current understanding of how things work.
>>
>>1311578
Aging is something that the barrier prevents on normal people for the most part, but still takes a toll given a certain amount of time.
in the show characters being 200+ years old wasn't uncommon, and it's not uncommon here, either. Most of the cast will comfortably live until 500 years of age, and will look pretty much as if they're in their mid 20's or early 30's the whole time. The heroes will live even longer, maybe many millennia.

Atlas still being around is a mystery to everyone involved, but not just because of the age, but because no one has met anything he has that resembles a summoner. Which was thought to be required for a hero to persist.

The way I always viewed health and age in Dog Days is it being like getting too much health in a game like Quake. You start with a specific amount that slowly ticks down over time. Until it hits 0, you're perfectly free and clear to do mostly whatever you want. You'll be just as active at 200 health as you are at 1 health. This may be a misinterpretation from the show, but the oldest characters there were still some of the most active and hearty. I think the oldest character in Biscotti (pic related) just had some bags under her eyes to denote that she was 300+ years old.

You should finish this portion up before you get into the conflict with the maid. It's important backstory.
It's important backstory to understand why the maid hated Kayda.

The maid attained permission to summon a hero in the King's place despite much pushback from Konditorei and its staff. The general consensus among the nobility was that the hero should go to someone who didn't have a hand in the political cliamte of the nation. That anyone who attained her would be immediately in a better position to take the throne than anyone else in the country. In particular, the biggest pushback came from Greta's uncle; who viewed her attaining a hero as a threat to his lofty ambitions for hte throne.

Despite these complaints, Kayda was summoned in secret by the head maid and Greta one snowy evening far away from the castle. At first, they weren't even aware that Kayda was the hero, and merely viewed her as a street urchin. After an attempt at kidnapping Greta away from the maid went sour due to the quick response from Kayda; they realized that she was indeed the hero who was summoned from another world.

Kayda was not liked among the staff for a number of reasons. Many of the staff viewed her as being extremely cold, and also as a direct threat to the princess. Some speculated that Kayda was little more than Clair's attack dog, and was completely subserviant to her will. The reality was actually much different. Clair hated Kayda, and disliked the extra burden to the political game she brought with her. While Clair was right in that having Kayda made her unstoppable, it also limited what she could do without Kayda's involvement being brought into question.

Because of this, Clair made special attention to send Kayda away on pointless missions while she made power plays back at home. This took a heavy toll on Kayda, both mentally and magically. The absense from her summoner left her constantly drained of energy, and also made basic tasks such as fighting and surviving very difficult. Sleep soon became worthless for Kayda, as it was merely a method for recharging of which she had no summoner to recharge from. She was slowly fading away, and Clair carelessly continued to send more and more missions to her. Further she was pushed out into the wastes, and soon was too far away from Konditorei to make it back by herself.

If it were not for the work of Jack, Yuuki, and Princess Tuile; Kayda would have surely perished. Clair, having her plan foiled, tried for an equally crazy plan to make her attempts seem less overt. This also failed, and resulted in the much scorned living arrangement where Kayda and Greta stayed with Clair at Biscotti castle.

Clair, while being very cold and calculating, made her venom and disdain for Kayda very open. Kayda started to resent her living arrangements, and found any reason to sneak out and not spend time with Greta on the mere principle of not having to spend time with the maid. The maid continued to be overtly hostile to Kayda, up until the point that Clair used Kayda to spy on the other heroes. That was when Clair, blinded by arrogance, had another disasterous plan for Kayda. Kayda, knowing only obedience for Greta, followed along and became swept up in the second attempt on Biscotti castle.

How magical is this setting, exactly?
Like, what can and can't magic do?
>>
>>1312716
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would put it at an 8.

Magic is the manipulation of base elements in the world. There is a magic barrier that protects everyone's souls so they can't die from mortal damage. But what it can't do is the magitechnical stuff you may be expecting. Magic requires a living being to operate it. Plus, it's unclear if magic is an extension of living beings or just something inherent to the world.

It's based off of a show called 'Dog Days'. So I guess magic can do anything the show says it can do.

Clair's new problem was Kayda's new-found freedom. Kayda was mostly free to do whatever she wanted, and was thus not bound to spend any time with Greta or under Clair's watchful eye. Clair knew that if she mistreated Kayda the same way as before, then Yuuki and Jack would come down on her like a ton of bricks. So what she needed was a method of observing her, even when she was outside of her watchful eye. Clair wasn't much of a magician, but she did have something which she stole from Konditorei on her way out.

Konditorei, for all its warlike efforts, were also pioneers in a number of communication methods. They were the first kingdom to use semaphores, and the first kingdom to send a message via messenger pigeon. Their next step in discovering new ways of communication reached into the mental realm. Psychic communication isn't commonplace in Floneyard, and requires an usual set of circumstances that is present to a singular person. While this was a closely kept secret of Konditorei; it was still within reach of the maid. She promptly stole the spell needed to use it, and took it to her next-best option for attempting to seize the throne.

Her plan involved a set of very tiny magic rings. Each magic ring allowed the wearers to essentially talk with one another given the right commands and addressing. Clair used these to secure help from Gallete's nobility, but they ended up being busted by Jack and Yuuki. Her scheme turned to another person who could possibly be influenced using the ring, Kayda.

Kayda did not trust her, and would not wear the ring willingly. Yet, Kayda was also very easily manipulated when it came to her orders. To her, the orders she was given was still official, even though it was being given by the worst person imaginable to give them. Clair used this to order Kayda be implanted with a ring in secret. Kayda unwillingly went along with the procedure, and found herself with a magic ring wrapped around a vein in her neck. She kept this secret; thinking that it would not impair her in any way.

Several months after accepting the ring implant; Kayda started to notice some strange things happening to her. She started to hear voices which she couldn't explain, and hear commands of which she couldn't ignore. She chalked this up to stress, and tried to ignore it. These problems started to slowly mount over time, until her dreams were taken over with visages of events and people whom she never met and commands and orders of which she refused to follow.

>>1316151
>Wait, what specifically was so bad about Kayda, and why did Clair someone like Kayda in the first place?
There's nothing wrong with Kayda, Clair found her to be a problem if she was going to pretend to be a mild-mannered maid. Kayda was way stronger, and her loyalty wasn't to Clair, it was to Greta. So she wanted her out of the picture. I think I hinted this when it was happening, but I'm not sure if anyone picked up on it.

None. She expected a man whom she could manipulate, and instead got a little girl. The players chose this at the start by making Jack go with the dogs.

Seriously. Her idea was that if it was a tall man, she could use him to intimidate her opponents while also manipulating him using her control over Greta.

If she tried that with Jack, there would probably have been a very long arc somewhere about taking Greta and fleeing Konditorei authorities.

This change in Kayda's behavior did not go unnoticed. It was almost plain as day to anyone who had day-to-day contact with her, and was starting to be the cause of much concern for her friends. Her best friend, Louise Lacerte, was the one who first noted the changes inside of Kayda.

Louise is the hero of Gallete, and was living a mostly carefree life with her summoner; Charlotte di Gallete. Charlotte treats Louise as more of a sister, than as a summoner. For that matter, Louise has mostly free reign to do whatever she pleases at most times of the day. This can result in her getting in lots of trouble, but also results in her seeing things that other heroes may not be privy to. During the second attack on Biscotti; she foiled an attack on the castle accidentally by walking in on some of the brigands who had been tasked to carry it out. Louise, while being free-spirited, is also extremely gifted with luck.

The two lived as best friends ever since their first meeting in Konditorei. Which is why, after Kayda was implated with the magic ring, Louise was the first person who started to note the changes in Kayda's behavior. For one, Kayda started to complain of voices inside of her head. Not to mention sometimes random incidents where Kayda would space-out or lose concentration. Louise noticed every one of these incidents, and tried to tell everyone she could. These problems weren't deemed as being very critical, but the opinion on that changed one day when Kayda was out in town.

Kayda started that particular day complaining of headaches and voices. Louise noticed this, and told one particular shrine maiden. Atsuko, the shrine maiden of the demon hunter shrine in Biscotti, had been visiting during this day. She heard this complaint, and immediately came to the conclusion that the problem afflicting Kayda was none other than demon possession. While not being the problem; it was still an attempt to find and treat whatever had been ailing Kayda. Atsuko agreed to look at her at the end of the day, but asked Louise to keep Kayda occupied until then. Unfortunately, due to either circumstance or knowledge of the procedure leaking; Kayda's symptoms reached a head a mere hour after Louise told Atsuko.

One of the first people to notice was Dorje, another hero who had been staying at Biscotti castle. He found Kayda having an unexplained psychotic episode outside of town, and decided to bring her back to the castle. Unknown to him, this episode also caused her to randomly use spells of her element at anything and everything that moved. Kayda was far from lucid while this was happening, and Dorje lacked many of the protections that other elements may have had to retrieve her. Thankfully, he was able to return her before another episode started. The exorcism ritual was prepared, and Atsuko oversaw the initial examination.

Atsuko's findings were nothing short of surprising. Instead of finding a demon inside of Kayda; they found nothing spiritually or physically wrong with her. That is, until they discovered a tiny metal band around a vein in her neck. Her symptoms were being caused by none other than a magical ring that was placed in such a way as to make traditional removal impossible.
That is, if traditional removal was the intention. Tuile di Biscotti, the princess of Biscotti, had extensive training in a very obscure martial art known as 'barrier magic'. This magic allowed one to warp the barrier, which then could change physical properties of objects. Tuile's next trick was to bend the veins in Kayda's neck around the ring, and then retrieve the ring. The process lasted less time than a second, and resulted in a complete recovery for Kayda after several days of resting.

Then the question was asked of blame. Where did the ring come from? Why was it in her neck? How did it get there? For these answers, the adults sought out Clair to ask someone who may have had more time with her to understand the cause of these symptoms. When they went to check on Clair; their shock, Clair had fled the castle. Also missing was Kayda's summoner; Greta.

This was a very unnerving discovery for Biscotti castle. They were already on high alert due to the frequent attacks which had previously befallen them, but were now even stretched thinner searching for Clair and Greta.
Worse yet: Greta disappearing meant that Kayda could not recharge. Which she needed much recharging after the incident with the ring.

Jack and Cody searched the nearby area for any safehouses which Clair may have used to hide in. While Yuuki, Louise, and Dorje started a search on the further away parts of Biscotti to form a search pattern. They were well aware that Clair had likely left the country, but for her plans to come to fruition; she would have needed backup. Kayda was ordered to stay at the castle and rest, lest she over-exert herself any further without a summoner to recharge from.

Kayda was not pleased in the least by this order.

Instead, Kayda did the thing that Jack likely taught her to do; she took matters into her own hands. She hit up the local tavern to find an airship pilot willing to assist in stealing Jack's airship from the yard. Her target was none other than a safehouse of which she was aware existed, but didn't know the exact location of. That safehouse of Clair's was located far off in the land of Bruschetta. The frozen land from which Yuuki hails from.

Kayda took the Airship moored at the Biscotti shipyard, and headed off in that direction without anyone else knowing about her plan. Once she arrived, her search for Greta began.

Kayda's search for Greta was going to be tough. For one, she brought only herself and the pilot she hired. Searching the vast, frozen countryside of Bruscetta was going to be nothing else than a disaster unless she narrowed down the places Clair could be hiding.
Her search was also hindered by the fact that Bruschetta was extremely hostile to outsiders. Especially to outsiders who looked like they needed something. Bruschetta is a rich-person's winter resort, and it's also where many nobility go to escape the neediness of the common man.

Kayda, despite her standing as one of the strongest people on Earth, was also snubbed as looking extraordinarily poor. Her clothes were mostly tailored armor, and her ordeal had left her disoriented and angry. So her demeanor was not the best to negotiate with the rich people of Bruschetta.

She searched through the upper villas of Bruschetta and found herself mostly out of luck. The nobility refused to speak with her, and the servants were less than helpful. Thankfully, she got a single lead from the only person willing to speak with her.

In the hills of Bruschetta sat an old, abandoned house. Though, unknown to most, the house was far from abandoned. It had acted as a listening post for the kingdom of Konditorei. This is where Kayda believed Clair may have taken Greta. She was half-correct, as Clair was definitely laying in wait near the home. Kayda, however, was not the person Clair was expecting to follow her. Clair was almost certain Jack was the one who followed her, and set her trap up expecting Jack to be the person to stepped into it.

This mistake ruined her plans when Kayda, fearing little for Clair or her plans, destroyed the house and puffballed Clair almost instantly. Clair, having been defeated, used an item she put away as a last resort: a small pen-knife which was cursed with a tiny seal. Althrough Clair had been puffballed, Kayda soon fell unconscious from the curse inflicted on her.

Meanwhile in Biscotti; Jack was quick to find out about his stolen airship, and was on the case immediately. With Cody's assistance, he put together a team and headed for Bruschetta.

He, too, had similar problems in Bruschetta that Kayda had. He had no clue where Kayda went searching, and he had the problem of not having enough people for a full-on search. However, he did find one particular clue. That is, a burning house with smoke pouring from it. Jack immediately extinguished the flames, and was hot on Clair and Kayda's trail.

His search brought him to one of the small villages on the outskirts of the castle. Kayda and Clair's puffballed form were found and brought to a house a little while before Jack arrived. However, while Kayda was still unconscious; Clair had awoken and left before anyone had arrived.

This made Jack extremely angry, and he retraced his steps back to the burnt-out cottage. After some searching, he found a hidden pathway which lead to nothing short of a bunker. A safehouse for Clair to hide in, and for her to hide things in.
One of those things which she hid, was Greta.

After a brief confrontation (of which Clair did not win); Jack retrieved Greta and made his way back for Kayda. It seemed like his problems had ended.

How are the heroes viewed by country?

>Next: Meeting with Atlas.

>Biscotti
A thing they've come to accept

>Gallete
They know they have a hero, but they're growing increasingly worried by assumed-his lack of presence

>Bruschetta
They view theirs as a national treasure, the others they have no opinion on one way or the other

>Konditorei
A nuisance

>Pastillage
Most of them aren't even aware the heroes have been summoned.

>Carancha
They would probably treat all of the heroes to a parade if they ever visited.

-It seemed like Jack's problems were solved; is what he would like to have said.
Unfortunately, his problems in Bruschetta were only just starting.

Kayda was having a problem in that she wasn't waking up. Jack found her in the frozen cold, and suspected she may have come down with something.
Using his best judgement, he put together a small group to return to Biscotti with Kayda in tow. Louise volunteered to go with her, and make sure that Kayda was well taken care of.

Hmm, you're not sure what happened to Kayda after that. You read in a message that something happened back in Biscotti. You'll add more onto this chapter later about that when you find out.

-Anyway, back to Jack and his problems.

Jack had a peculiar issue with Bruschetta. The "bunny-kingdom" had several different sections staffed by different stripes of soldier. The section of Bruschetta which Jack had landed in was referred to as the "Princess' Quarters". An entire quarter of the country devoted to housing the women behind the throne. It is stocked specifically to avoid temptation to the Princesses and Queens who live there. All the soldiers and guards are female, and the castle itself was closed off to any male presence. It was where Annetta di Bruschetta grew up, and it was where Yuuki was summoned.

The Princess' quarters has been a place of controversy. Most of Bruschetta's army is male, but none is allowed to enter that quarter of the country. It's lead to a very intense stigma, and even accusations that it's part of an elite caste running the country. Even Yuuki herself has had problems with this section of her own nation. Her initial summoning went poorly, and she spent several days hiding in this countryside.

Jack's experience with it was mostly the same. His initial arrival was met with intense distrust and suspicion. Everyone there knew that Jack was the envoy of a foriegn country, and they were more than aware of his history.
Even worse, they were also aware that he was the leader of the group of heroes and not their beloved Yuuki. Just to add to the confusion, they were under the impression that he may have been mistreating Yuuki.

This sent waves throughout the forces stationed at the castle. For one, Bruschetta idolized their hero. It was also a sticking point for the acting queen of Bruschetta, Marion; of whom loved Yuuki as a family member.
Jack was hounded from that point on by Bruschetta authorities. In an attempt to escape their watchful eye; he took to the mountains to continue his investigation.

This turned out to be a godsend, as there was a certain someone whom had been waiting in the mountains. The certain someone he met was none other than the ancient hero known as "Atlas".

Atlas is a poorly understood quantity in the world. He's a hero, but he's been alive almost ten thousand years without any assistance from a summoner of his own. He has seemingly little to no experience with civilization, but has been alive long enough to see numerous civilizations rise and fall. Personally, his backstory is inconsistent and might be the result of either extremely poor memory or outright fabrication.

In either case, Atlas is a monster to contend with. He seems to have mastered every element on his own, and has the strength of two other heroes. How he gained this power is a mystery.

Jack's discussion lead to a temporary truce between him and Atlas. As well as a bargain: If Jack can beat Atlas at the spring festival, then Atlas will gladly join Jack's crew and help restore Floneyard to its former glory.

Writing that last line, you feel a chill go down your spine. Can Jack really do that?

Okay, finally. I can get to this.

>Jack
He's seen as a drunkard and a troublemaker. However, he also has some falsities attached to his name. He's seen as a womanizer, and as someone whom you can't turn your back on for more than a second.

>Cody
Very little is known about him. Pastillage thinks they have a proud and independent knight to wed their Queen, but Biscotti and Carancha knows the real truth behind him.

>Yuuki
National hero back home, and beloved in Biscotti. While she has almost a legend surrounding her, very few people would be able to tell what she looks like. Word of her deeds have traveled farther than word of her character.

>Dorje
Who? Oh! Right, the white-haired kid. Even Carancha isn't aware of his existence. They know they received a hero, and that hero has done many good things for their country; but he's not one to tell anyone. He's also not one to put himself in the business of others.

>Kayda
Universal hatred in Konditorei and general ambivalence everywhere else. Many in Konditorei believe that she was the reason Greta left the country. This is because her presence is a well-known subject, but Clair's is not. Her blunt behavior and clothing style do not help in winning hearts abroad.

>Louise
Most people in Gallete think that she's a gigantic hulk of a man. Some speculate that the disguise Yuuki wore to the Gallete dinner party was in fact Louise. Almost nobody aside from the knights and Charlotte know that she is in fact a bubbly little girl

>Atlas
Deranged hobo who has been seen eating grass.
>>
>>1337348
>Jack
Hasn't he also the ears and tails of some of the male guards too?
>>
>>1337410
Oh, many, many times.

Not that they would come out and tell someone about that.

Jack is public enemy #1 and public hero #somethingsomething ?
>>
>>1337590
Not quite public enemy status, but definitely someone people are wary of.

Public hero #1 because he's still the only one most people know about in Biscotti.

..You decide to leave this section blank for now.
It's not that you don't have faith in Jack, but it's more that you rather not have to tear a page out of this book and start over if you happen to be wrong.

You're certain Jack can pull off victory if he works together with his friends and his skills. It's just that you're certain that it would be a close battle even with all of Jack's skills to bare.

Still, the heroes are no pushover. You don't see a good way for Atlas to win a 6 v 1, but you're sure he has some plan in mind.

You flip the page, so if you leave off here, then-

-EEK!
You nearly jump out of your skin as you dart to your feet! Something really cold just pressed against your cheek!

Wait, it's.. the sun?!
It's dawn already?!

You flip your gaze, and notice the big smile of a certain bunny-ranger!
"Tehe." Cassata grins, "Didn't mean to scare 'ya."

"W-What's going on?!" you mumble.

"Nothing, it's just that you've been sitting there like a statue for almost a day and a half, now."

A day and a half?!
"W- I was writing." You try to explain yourself.

Her long bunny ears twitch, "That's some absorbed writing."
She gives a smug smile, "Such absorbed writing that you didn't notice that demon Yuuki and Dorje beat, that rockslide that almost covered your carriage, and the conversation we had right here on who we could marry you off to if we turned the cart around and trapped you in Bruschetta."

"..You're kidding, that surely didn't happen."

"-Well, okay, the rockslide was a joke. But I wanted to see if you caught on."

>I'm writing a very important work!

Folks, I have a lot to do in the morning so I'm going to go to bed. I will finish this thread in the morning if I have time. If not, I think that last post is a good place to let the recap go on.

Keep asking questions! I might be able to answer them in the morning. Until then!

"Wait, wait." You try and slow Cassata down for just a moment to try and understand what she's trying to imply. "What was that last part?"
"I knew you would focus on that part." She smiles, slyly, "Oh, it was nothing."
"Something about.. marriage?"
"Just who we could auction you off to if we took you back to Bruschetta. They could dress you in armor and pretend you're an armor stand." Cassata is stopping herself from laughing.
"You weren't.. really talking about doing that, right?"

"Just to see if you would notice." She scoffs, "Too bad, you sort-of missed your opportunity."
"I WHAT?"
"Don't tell me you weren't staring at Yuuki's butt last night after the rock slide." Cassata leans back, "I saw her in that nightgown, and I saw your jaw on the floor of the cart." Cassata puts on that teasing voice.
You feel a warm feeling in your chest. It slowly starts to spread to your cheeks.
"WHAT?"
"Just be thankful Anna didn't notice. It was the first time you weren't looking at your little book in the last few days." Cassata's smile gets more sly.
"What are you implying?!"
"I'm implying that if you want Yuuki, you should go and get her."
"I'm not doing that, she's a hero! She's YOUR hero!"

"Pity." Cassata sighs, "You would be a cute guy without the book glued to your nose."
She stands up, and brushes your shoulder with her hands.

"Frankly, I don't see what the big deal is." She smiles, "I think Dorje would be the way better catch if she waits a few years."
"..How far from Biscotti are we?"
"About a few more hours. Are you going back into your book-related coma?"

"..Yes. I might."
"I figured as much. That better be a real hot book."

Cassata turns to walk away, and that's when you notice that she's wearing the same type of nightgown that Yuuki was wearing. The kind that gives a compromising view if someone happens to be sitting at about the angle you're at right now.

You open the book, and flip back a few pages. There's something you wrote in the margin that you don't quite remember writing.
"Yuuki and Cassata have a nice butt."

What does it take for Jack to actually pass out from drinking?

Come to think of it, what are the other's alcohol tolerances?
