back, sorry guys, that was a LOT of work for nothing.

They decided to not accept pendrives anymore, so i had to come back home and email them the files (D&D handbook) I wanted them to print (hey, its 3 cents a page), but files bigger than 25megas cant be sent, so i had to send them a link.

They didnt want to open the link
Then they didnt want to download it, so they tried to print from the web browser (IE)
Hilarity ensued, as it would only print up to page 216 in shitty quality, and they wanted me to pay them for it

Honestly, it would be great if there was gift wrapping in this world, but paper is still rather expensive so this is already considered quite fancyful, you know?

Well, as we head down into one of Opel's foodgeons, we head straight to the deepest mapped floor, thanks to a keystone from the Adventurer's Guild.

5 people x 100 gold (1 keystone per person) wasn't really cheap at all, but at these floor depths, you usually get your money back in a single boss fight anyway.

And so, we're at floor 125 now, appearing in the safe zone previously markef as such by other explorers.

The dungeon's atmosphere is quite close to a traditional fantasy dungeon, with stone walls, roof and floor, plus some pillars and torch bases every few dozen feet, but that's as far as it goes.

Rather than abandoned and ruinous, it looks well maintained and almost brand new.

I wonder if that's because this is in a dwarven city? Their buildings are all built to last, in a similar style.

Well, dungeons tend to emulate the area in which they are, so there's a good chance of it.

As for the room itself, it isn't particularly large, but it isn't cramped either. There's space enough for us to stand a few feet away from each other, and there's an stone fountain shaped like an eagle's head on the wall away from the entrance.

"Ah, it appears to be magical." - Mako looks towards the fountain

Indeed, we can sense a bit of a magical aura coming from it. I wonder if that's related to how it pours down water non-stop, or if the water has any magical property.

2nd - Its trying to munch on our arm.

Thankfully, we are too high level for it to just chimp our arm off in a single bite, but for normal adventurers, it would have been super dangerous, you know?

There's a wet sucking sound as we pull away from the wall, dragging the small mimic with us.

It really clung until the end...

Seriously, its basically just a large eagle head. Its underside its almost flat, but by a set of several small tentacles. I guess that's how it moves and climbs up the walls...

Its tentacles are wiggling in mid air as it tries to find purchase somewhere, and yet it doesn't lets go. As we flex our arm, it moves with our hand as if it was some weird glove.

"Ah!" - Mako looks like she really likes it...

Well, it's still a dungeon monster, so she can't tame it, you know? Even if we tried to take it out of the dungeon, it would just dissapear and respawn somewhere else...

Wait, a 'small' mimic?

If it was a dungeon monster, there would be no reason for it to be 'small'. Small as in 'young' you know?

Dungeon monsters pop up fully grown, after all.

So, did it somehow crawl into the dungeon? Or maybe its parent(s?) did?

I have absolutely no clue as to mimic ecology. Are they asexual, or what?

Well, if its a real monster, that would help explain why it wandered into a supossedly 'safe zone' you know?

I really wish we knew more about mimic ecology.

There's a small flash of light as she uses her own [Tema] skill on it.

Uh, it looks all mellowed on her arms. It pisses me off a little that it is burying its head into her bossom while looking so happy about it... its alright, we can do that later tonight.

With that (that being Sarraceno) out of the way, we finally get to explore the dungeon.

Well, we're grinding it, really.

As usual, we have Lyann support by buffind and healing, while debuffing the enemies.
Aritsu is a second line fighter with spells and sword.

She's gotten a lot better at shortening her spell chants, albeit she still can't use them chantlessly.
Well, its been stablished that the longer you have used them with chants, the harder it is to break out of it afterwards, so its understandable.
Still, she has shortened her spells to two and three word chants by now, so its almost the same.

She's actually a very gifted magician, you know?

By the way, Mako has grown into a melee type.

It so absolutely does not suit her.
Is it just me that thinks the super sweet and gentle girl punching the eye out of a monster's head is weird? Its not, right?
Probably not

Miel is a dedicated caster, staying all the way in the back, by the way. She doesn't so much use spells (she does use some though) as her monster abilities to summon Honey Faeries to attack or defend on command.

Uh. Seeing a cloud of tiny faeries poke huge monsters to death is a little scary. Well, the idea of a swarm with weapons is scary enough on its own, I think.

Like this, we make it through the dungeon, descending a floor at the time.

We go down a level at the time, trying to hunt down as quickly as possible in order to grind exp for everyone.

Along the way, thanks to Lyann, we pick up massive quantities of high quality materials. Well, because we are not grinding the bosses, it's not actual gear, though, but we can probably do a LOT with all of these.

Rather than selling them, I think it would be better to use them and have new gear meade in the future.

By the way, Lyann has filled plenty of mana gems by now, all the way to over the million points. We can probably sell those, too... well, they're useful for us as well, so let's hold on to them.

It still feels a bit weird to see Mako going ahead and punching monsters to death.
Yup, there's no helping it.
Her personality is just so gentle that you cant reconcile her every day self with the battle goddess turning monsters faces into goo, you know?

Ah, I guess we should at least give her a set of armor and weapons if we are going to keep taking her along in the future.

Aritsu's armor set is fine as it is right now, but we should probably upgrade her weapons.

Hm.. she's an agility type that can use two swords and cast while fighting. I wonder if it would be good to give her a staff with a blade at each end, to empower her spells, or just give her two swords and prioritize her melee skills.

Remember that the more of the same enhancement is there, the greater the effect. We could get all if we wanted, but each effect would be way smaller.

For example, any of the following enhancements are possible, but as you will see, choosing the same several times has a much greater effect than picking it just once.

The new weapon can have up to 7 "slots" for minor enhancements (the ones detailed below)

Chaos – Weapons enhanced by chaos have a chance to stun on-hit:

Darkness – Weapons with this enhancement recover a % of your max MP per enemy hit:

Elemental (Fire, Metal, Water, Wind, Wood) – Weapons with this enhancement add a % of your damage as extra elemental damage on-hit.
10% => 20% => 30% => 45% => 60% => 75% => 100%

Hatred – This enhancement dds to the range of abilities, projectiles and spells.
10% => 20% => 30% => 45% => 60% => 75% => 100%

Executioner – Weapons with this enhancement give you increased chances for a critical hit against enemies with 33% or less of their maximum HP.
5% => 10% => 20% => 30% => 45% => 60% => 75%

Sharpness – Weapons with tiers on this enhancement rise the damage you deal with them:
+5% => +13% => +25% => +50% => +80% => +135% => +200%

Vampiric – You heal by a % of all damage you deal with this weapon:
10% => 20% => 30% => 45% => 60% => 75% => 100%

The following are Greater enhancements. As previously explained, the weapon can have up to 3 "slots" instead, and picking the same several times has a much greater effect.

Alacrity – While wielding a weapon enhanced with this effect and adjacent to any enemies, you can deal extra basic attacks as a free action, distributed in any way you want amongst valid targets, whenever you use a standard action.
+1 => +2 => +3 basic attacks

Chromatic (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wind, Wood) – Rods, staves and wands with this enhancement add extra damage on your spells, per mana point spent when you deal spell damage.

After lunch, we get dragged away along with Mako and Aritsu out to the garden by our siblings, so we can be their guests at a tea party.
