>In Year 2 (extended summary)

Before the school year started, you went to Bordeaux, France with your dad and met with the new DADA professor there, then you attended a Quidditch friendly match with your friend Tim but the match was disrupted by the attack of Death Eater remnants and you duelled with one of them briefly before he escaped, then you started the second year in Hogwarts and managed to get in the Quidditch team again as the Seeker, you joined the duelling club and met some new friends. Your aunt was put on trial for being a death eater and was found innocent yet the media kept attacking your family and you had some awkward times. At the end of the year it turns out a few extremist death eaters started a revenge campaign against the Ministry and the "collaborators". They attack your aunt but they your mother defeats them. Then it turns out the Death Eater you duelled at the start of the year managed to took some of Tim's hair and used a polyjuice potion to look like him. The death eater reveals himself and attacks the DADA professor who used to be a Judge and found your aunt innocent on the trial. The death eater reveals that your aunt was indeed a death eater and the if the professor found her innocent that must mean that she become a traitor to the cause and gave vital information in exchange. The Goblin from the Year 1 shows up in the middle of the chaotic scene and claims he retrieved "his ancestral Ring" back from Hogwarts and runs away. Then the Death Eater kills the Professor, yet at the last minute your mother shows up, she flew to Hogwarts secretly after the attack on your aunt, and she kills the Death Eater during the duel. She also reveals that your aunt was found innocent not because she sold Voldemort's secrets to the Judges but because your mother actually used Imperius curse on the now killed Professor during the trial and orchestrated the whole thing. She escapes before the other Professors come to the scene and you and your friends Glenn and Rachel who witnessed the whole thing decide to keep this as a secret and tell everyone only that Death Eater and the Professor killed each other. In the end you decide to go home and finish your second year abruptly. The headmaster understands and you leave Hogwarts a few weeks before the year ends. You need some time alone at home before the third year.

I will give explanations and expositions every time someone appears so that the new players will be able to catch up quickly. It's been three months since you left Hogwarts and came back home.

It was the most boring and depressing summer you ever had in your life. Shortly after the events of the last year, your mother confessed everything to your father. She said that she had to use the Imperius on the judge so that her sister, your aunt, Luisa would be found innocent. She says that Luisa wasn't "really" a death eater or anything, she just stupid and got over in her head. Your mom had to protect her. Although your father has always been the most quiet and understanding man you ever known in your life, and even now he seems that he understands what she did and why she did it, you have never seen him so angry before.

Your mother, who has always been cool and proud seems quite nervous and broken now. She seems a bit shaken by the events. Probably not because she had to kill someone but because her son was in mortal danger because of her old actions.

After an extensive arguing with your father, she says she needs to leave for a while and he agrees. She hugged you tight and kissed you many times before saying good bye. She has been gone for three months now.

She sent you some letters during the summer. She went to stay with her sister Luisa. Your father says it was necessary because your mom had to set up a new place for your aunt and hide her since she might be in danger from the remaining Death Eaters.

Your friends also sent you some letters during the summer. Most of your letters came from Glenn. He was also a bit shaken by the events. He wrote to you that he hadn't had any kind of prophecies ever since. Glenn had the Gift of Sight and sometimes "predicts" the future in weird prophecies.

Anya also wrote to you a few times but she says that her parents are quite involved in something with miners or protests or something. You don't quite understand what is she talking about but since her parents are Muggles you don't really care much about it. She says she misses you and looks forward to seeing you again.

You also received a curious letter from your clumsy friend Valdis, who invites you to a dinner at his house. Valdis' great great great grandfather was a Headmaster in Hogwarts and he says that the new DADA professor would also be attending to the dinner.

Other than you and Glenn, another student called Rachel was also with you that night and promised to keep your mom's secret. You haven't heard anything from her though.

You have spend your summer mostly studying to take your head off from things and also practiced some Quidditch and flying while your Finnish Pirkka Bee Cordelia accompanied you.

We have a big Artihmancy friend, the french girl Astrid from Beauxbeautons.

Glenn has the Gift for the Divination. Anya's parents are Muggles so she can be a lot of help for Muggle Studies. John never really showed any interest at these subjects though. Should be interesting to choose.

You spend your days mostly studying your favorite subject of Potions. You practice brewing some of the potions you know such as the Wiggenweld Potion and the Shrinking Solution. Apart from studying potions you also spend some time practicing your Quidditch skills. You would like to finally get the Quidditch cup this year. After you left before watching the final game you learned from your friends that Slytherin won the Quidditch Cup. At least Ravenclaw won the House Cup again.

You also finish a few novels during your free time in summer. It feels good to forget about the world for a few hours and bury yourself in a good book. After each book you finish you write to Anya to talk about it. She is quite the bookworm.

You also watch a big celestial event with your dad one night. Your family manor is quite far away from any of the big Muggle cities and also a bit high in elevation. You watch as a group of Sami Shamans flying from the North Pole passes your region. Your dad says there is some sort of meeting in Britain that many foreign wizards and magicians also attend. The shamans fly towards the sky and leave an effect like northern lights on the sky. It is quite beautiful. As you look at the sky you remember of your friend Valdis' invitation. Valdis really likes astronomy and he is the founder of the Astronomy club. You decide to write a letter to him saying you will attend to his dinner. The dinner will take place next week.

In the meantime you receive a letter from Tim asking which elective you will select this year as he wants to be in the same class as you. You think hard about it...

The time comes for Valdis' dinner. You go together with your father. Valdis doesn't live too far away and you see a large cart with two strong and majestic gryphons waiting for you outside of your house.

"What do you think?" your father Edward asks with a playful smile.

You LOVE it. Edward must have planned this as a gesture to cheer you up since you love magical beasts and creatures. Both of you sit in the cart and the beasts take off after a little bit of running on the ground. "Where did you get them?" you ask. Your father just smiles. He is a man of means.

"I thought we can enjoy this nice summer weather" he says putting an arm on your shoulder. As the sun sets, the summer breeze licks your hair and you feel happy to be alive.

After almost an hour of flying you see a dark point in the middle of a sea of grass down on the ground. The gryphons slowly start to descend and the dark point becomes larger and larger and very taller. It's an old and large tower with many spires and round rooms. As you come closer you see a big balcony with many, many astronomy equipment looking towards the sky.

The cart lands and your friend Valdis along with presumably his father greets you.

It feels very nice to see a friend. Even though you are not very close with Valdis, you like him and think of him as a friend. Valdis most of the time cost Ravenclaw a lot of points but he has some redeeming qualities such as his passion for astronomy and a keen interest for social events.

After a bit of welcoming chat, both of your fathers stay in the large living room while Valdis takes you upstairs to show you his room. On the way to his room you see a portrait. An old man looks at you and then winks. "Nice to see you Mr. Apise!" the man in the painting says. You wave back and as you are about to speak, Valdis drags you to the stairs. "Old man Vindictus kept talking about you after the...well after..you know. Nothing bad of course, I think he likes you. I think he didn't like Rachel much though, I would say she is all right...anyway, Oh you know I can show you some of his famous potions stuff..."

Vindictus Viridian was one of the old Headmasters of Hogwarts and a very famous Potioneer, and you had the chance to speak with his portrait after the Death Eater attack when you were in the Headmaster's room.

"Ooo! Can I see his potions stuff?" you ask with excitement. Valdis laughs. "Yeah sure! I know you want to be the next Snape... come!" after going up one stair now he takes you down from another one. This tower is almost as confusing as Hogwarts stairs. "Oh and by the way how do you know Rachel?" you ask curiously.

"What do you mean?" Valdis counters. "Did you forget how she stupified me in the DADA course last year when we were paired? That girl is crazy... Anyway she should be here soon."

As you look confused he laughs again. "Oh right! I forgot to tell you, Rachel Rosenfeld is also coming for the dinner. It turns out her dad is a friend of mine. They were both in some club or class or something I forgot...Ahh here we are."

He opens a very old looking big door and it opens with an eerie creak. "We don't really use this room much..."

Inside is full of weird bottles and flasks of all sizes. It's shelf after shelf vials and glasses and jars. This looks like a potioneer's dream room. You are amazed.

"Sadly there aren't much stuff left... It's been like 400 years since he died so nothing you can use in a potion or brew or anything... But I guess these old flasks might be cool... I can give you one or two if you want, I'm sure dad wouldn't mind." Valdis says.

You thank Valdis and start looking for some interesting pieces to take with you. In the meantime you talk about...

"Yeah. I will get Magical Creatures and Divination." He then starts to explain how Astronomy is connected with Divination and something about how starts move and moons collide blablabla, then you intervene to ask if Vindictus would have left some old book here somewhere as you put some really strange looking vials to your bag.

Valdis shrugs and says, "No, sorry. Any book, recipe or anything really useful was donated to Hogwarts library. I think that flask is something special though look," He points to a symbol on the flask. "Vindictus marked some of the bottles and vials with this symbol. I think they are either better to brew certain kinds of potions or have some other quality to them..."

Just as you two were talking a strange bell sound echoes in the tower. "Oh! That's time for dinner. I guess everyone is here now." Valdis grabs you again and tries to run quickly, you almost drop and break a bottle but thankfully you were quick enough to catch it.

You two run down and up and down again the stairs and come to a big room with a very large dinner table in the middle of it. The room is lit be flying candles and with strange rugs on the walls. It kind of reminds you of Hogwarts.

You lean on and try to talk to Rachel casually. "Hey Rachel! How have you been? How was your summer?" She is wearing her silver snake necklace around her neck with her favorite emerald green hairband tying up her blonde hair.

She seems surprised a bit. "Hi John!... Thanks... It was all right..." she says in a shy way.

A few minutes later she adds, "Well... I thought... I thought you wouldn't want to talk to me after what I tried to do and after finding out what I am." Her green eyes look down on the table.

Just as you two were talking, Valdis' dad stands up and starts giving a speech. He welcomes everyone and then gets to introducing the new DADA professor, Henry Noctua. Professor Noctua, tries to stand up fighting with his own belly, gives a small bow and sits back again.

You wonder how long he will stay as the DADA professor. Hopefully longer than the first two.

Troll brewed beer sounds interesting.

"Do you keep contact with others during the summer?" she asks. You talk mostly with your close friends from Ravenclaw. You didn't talk much to your fiery Gryffindor friend Alba though. Rachel says she likes almost everyone in her class but one guy is starting to annoy him. "It's David. This guy is such a weasel."

You know David. It was one of the first people you met in Hogwarts. David has a strange sheep follower mentality and always tries to hangout with purebloods. You think it's best to avoid talking about your friend Alba too ever since that fight between Slytherins and Gryffindors in Year 1 it has been a touchy subject.

"So looks like we will have Ancient Runes together. What do you hope to learn in this class? I hope it's not just some boring book reading course..."

After a little bit more chat, the dinner is over and the dessert is served. The new professor across the table finally looks at you and Rachel and starts to have a conversation.

When I finally decided to retire and let the world do whatever they want without me....Dumbledore pulled me back to Hogwarts... Well I always loved foreign affairs and I have a keen interest of travelling but Hogwarts always had a special place in my heart. When Dumbledore kindly asks you for your help to clean the mess in Hogwarts you simply cannot say no!... Even though I really loved my retirement..." he sighs.

"Well... let me see that." he says. You take out one of the flasks you took earlier and show it to him. "Ah...Yes... That just means that these flasks were made using a special kind of glass. There are traces of meteorite in this glass. I have studied this kind of flasks and making of glass for years and I have found that some of the potions brewed with these kind of flasks have superior quality to normal ones. In fact some potions can only be brewed with one of these."

You start to get excited. "Like what?"

He laughs. "Even if I told you, you will never be able to brew that something like that child. For example the Arcanusclipeus Elixir. It's a very complex potion that very well can save your life... but I am afraid that is forbidden to brew these days since it might also kill you if you mess up the preparations...I don't remember all the recipes anyway. I left them all to you, next generations in my books..." With that he prepares to go to sleep again.

Finally you leave and head back home with your father. This time it feels a bit more chilly since it's almost midnight and you wrap your cloak around you on the way back home while flying over the small ponds and forests.

You talk with your father about the new professor and how his third year was in Hogwarts. He tells you a funny story about how he won some last minute points and won the House Cup for Hufflepuff. Sometimes you wonder if anything in your life would have been different if you were in Hufflepuff. Then you think about your friends. You are really glad to have them. You only know one girl from Hufflepuff, named Mary. She was in the book club with you. She is okay but you cannot imagine a life without your Ravenclaw buddies in Hogwarts. Your father asks you about Rachel. He says you two seemed close and asks if she is one of your best friends. You say she is a close friend but your best friends are Anya and Glenn. "What about that Gryffindor girl? She still attacks other students over Quidditch?" your dad asks, meaning your friend from Spain, Alba. You just shrug and laugh.

When you reach home you say good night to your father and head to your room. You inspect the special vials you took from Vindictus' old collection and dream of brewing special potions that will make you one of the most accomplished Potioneers in the history...and you slowly drift away to sleep.

Intelligence is the measure of a character's smarts, depth of knowledge and book learning.

Intelligence can be used to decrease the amount of time it takes to research and study, as well as giving bonuses to tests.

Spirit grants perks. For every one point of Spirit a character gets one perk.

Because it's good for potion brewing and spell casting, and anyone who says it isn't obviously didn't read the rulebook.

Spirit also allows you to spend that much gold to shorten the studying hours. I usually add the Spirit bonus to your studying hours so you learn stuff faster. So it's a nice bonus that people might not realize. You also get a Perk when you get a Spirit point.

Intelligence also adds x10 shortening to study hours and useful for spell casting and brewing.

Finesse is faster in combat and useful for brewing again.

Power is your Health + useful for spellcasting.

It is the last day of summer. You will be heading out to Hogwarts soon. You considered writing a letter to your mom but your dad said it probably wouldn't be necessary. And he was right. Just as you are getting out of the house and prepare to leave you see your mom approaching in the sky. She is flying on one of her old broomsticks and she is fast.

She lands at the gardens of your house and runs towards you. She hugs you in tight embrace. "My love!" she says. "I couldn't be away on your day to school."

You are really happy to see your mom. Your dad also smiles. They also exchange a short hug. "Finally your aunt is in a safe location and she will return to her normal life soon. I think we are not in any kind of danger." Your mom says. You feel glad.

Your parents take you together to the train station. On the way you feel like there is a strange coldness in their talks but you pay it no mind. You arrive at the train and say your final goodbyes to your parents. Your mom tells you to becareful and write to her any time you want. You hug them one last time and enter the train.

You are a bit early and not many students are here yet. There are a few empty rooms and you also see a few people you know. You think you hear Alba in one of the compartments. You also see your Quidditch captain Anthony. He is starting his final year in Hogwarts. You feel something bad in your stomach when you see him as you left the school before the final match for your team. There were a lot of points difference and you probably wouldn't be the champions anyway but still... you feel like you let him and your team down. You also saw some of your fellow Ravenclaws like Juliette, Alice and Bryan at the back of the train.

You take a few steps and decide where to sit.

You sit next to them and start to catch up. They tell you all about their summer and Bryan asks you how do you feel. You say you are okay and ready to go back to normal. "I was just... I was just a little shaken I guess. Now I am fine." Alice says she never guessed you would be a type to get affected like this from that event. Bryan cuts her short. "Many wizards in the world face with dark threats and it is a very dangerous and traumatic thing to fight for you life, Alice. John had all the right to get some rest and clear his head."

You appreciate Bryan's statement. "I am very impressed with your skills, John. I hope I can be also like you when I become an Auror. It's a big feat to face a Death Eater and survive..." he continues.

"Don't forget that Vampire Professor either!" Juliette adds.

You start to feel better already. Staying at home for months was so boring. Hogwarts is where you thrive.

"Oh John...by the way....what are you going to do now that you are out of the Quidditch team?" Juliette asks.

You will at least probably not miss the Quidditch dramas. You also did had a kind of serious accident too last year while playing. This might be a good time to focus on classes and finally spend a quiet year.

"Did you guys decided on your electives?" Alice asks. "I will take Magical Creatures and Ancient Runes." You laugh and say you will also select those two. Bryan says he will do the same. Only Juliette says she will select Divination and Muggle Studies.

"I researched a lot on how Muggles print magazines and report news. I want to learn more about Muggle journalism."

It seems a rather strange interest to you but each to her own you guess.

You put away all your books and also take your golden Rowena Ravenclaw card from the ground. "Hey John... actually it was really nice that you found us here because I wanted to talk to you about something." Bryan says looking at your card. "Nice card by the way...it gave me an idea too just now."

Puzzled and curious you sit down and look at him. "What do you mean?" you ask.

"You see since our first year we are facing many threats. Even though the You-Know-Who is gone the world is still not safe. First we had that crazy vampire lady. Then that attack at the Quidditch match last year. And of course a frigging Death Eater in our school, killing our professor just a few months ago... Did you know that this summer our chaser Kristin's parents were mugged at wand point in Wales? By a very, very big guy. (4U) Kristin swears he was a half troll. Well I don't know much about that but it is clear that we are constantly under grave danger."

You nod and wait for him to finish.

"The point is that we were talking about this for a while and we think we should form a group to defend ourselves. We should teach ourselves how to cast defensive spells and practice with each other. Sort of like last year's Duelling Club. We need like minded friends to protect each other's backs."

"What does my card has to do with it?" you ask curiously.

"Well... I was thinking about what to call this club. How does Rowena's Eagles...but Alice thinks it's a stupid name."

"Such a cheesy name. Should be dragons..." she intervenes.

Juliette sighs. "You are obsessed with dragons..."

"Anyway guys." Bryan takes control of the conversation again. "Perhaps we can use these cards to also communicate with each other to plan and organize stuff. I think everyone should have a Rowena Ravenclaw card in their collection.... You are lucky you have a gold one, John!"

You start to think about this and process it all. It seems like a good and useful idea. "Are you going to invite outsiders?" you ask. Bryan clearly says no. "I think we don't need others. They will just cause trouble and bring drama. You remember how the Gryffindor and Slytherin students destroyed the herbology class in our first year. I certainly don't want any weirdo from Slytherin or bullies like Malus or Alba from Gryffindor in our club..."

Then he looks at you and shrugs. "Sorry I forgot you are good friends with that girl."

You just nod and say it's okay. Bryan tells you to also ask Glenn, Anya and Tim to join the club. "So if they also say yes, we will be four of us here and three of them, seven in total. Even if they say no I trust they will keep our secret." Bryan says.

After a few minutes of chit chat, Bryan also tells them about his "Eagles" idea. Glenn seems not very excited about it at first but he also accepts to join as do Anya.

Anya likes the idea of using Ravenclaw cards as a means of communication. She says she will look it up on how to do it. The train slowly starts to move and you start on your journey towards your 3rd year in Hogwarts.

You start talking about your summer with Anya and Glenn while the other three gets into a heated arguement about who would win in a Quidditch match between Wales and Scotland.

Just finished reading the end of the second year.

I must admit very bald of you in giving us a clue someone was personating as Tim when someone said he/she had saw him at the library.

You continue talking with Anya and Glenn. Glenn tells you that ever since that night he still hasn't got any visions at all. "Maybe I am finally cured" he jokes. You are just glad that there are no more upcoming doom around. Glenn's mom, aunt, great aunt and grandmother are pretty happy that he correctly predicted the attack on Hogwarts though. It seems like they are not giving him any hard time about his lack of visions anymore at home. Almost all of the women in his family have the Gift to a certain degree. You can't imagine how it is to live in a house with prophetic women all the time.

Anya tells you about his summer and tells you how she spent some time with miners together with her parents. You always forget that muggles work in the mines themselves instead of house elves or goblins. What a strange society you think. Anya also seems glad that you will not be "wasting" your time more with Quidditch.

You tell the two about your dinner at Valdis' home and about meeting Rachel there. "So she kept your secret?" Anya asks. You nod. Only Glenn, Rachel and Anya knows about your mom's involvement in that night. Surprisingly Anya tells you that she is leaving the Book Club. "I guess I just got bored with the other students there..." Both of them also tells you strictly that they will never join Valdis' astronomy club again after last year's boring sessions in the middle of the night.

Anya says she will select Arithmancy and Muggle Studies for her electives and Glenn will select Divination and Muggle Studies. It seems Anya recruited him to select Muggle Studies. He just shrugs and says that she promised to help him a lot in the class.

Just as you are talking a few students walk in the corridor. One of them stops at the door of your compartment and starts shouting "Oh no! Look! Somebody is attacking me!" in a theatrical way. Before you could understand what is happening Anya sighs in an annoyed way and the kid outside continues "I am so afraid I must leave Hogwarts and go back home!"

It's Malus from Gryffindor. He is making fun of you while a few other Gryffindors laugh including Bill Weasley and another first grader kid next to him who has the same red hair. His brother must have started Hogwarts this year.

You decide to ignore them and don't lower yourself to their level. You also tell your friends to just ignore them. Anya seems pretty pissed off while Glenn just looks annoyed and bored. Bryan gets ready to stand up and get into an arguement with them when you hear someone shouting.

You just see a cloud of red and yellow with a thunderous roar flowing through the corridor in haste towards Malus. It's a half cloud half lion head. Malus, now running and screaming trips on the floor and falls down right on his face while trying to crawl in fear. First everyone is shocked and then followed by a loud laughter. The lion disappears just when it's about to touch Malus' face and behind it comes running Alba.

"I...told...you...to stay away from my friends you useless loser!" she shouts at Malus her wand pointed at his face.

"What is going on here?" a woman shouts in a frustrated voice. "Making trouble again, on the first day Miss Morteno?" It's the head of Gryffindor, Professor McGonagall. Without Alba having the time to defend herself McGonagall takes her and walk through the corridor with her. You just hope she will not get into much trouble.

Malus and his friends all scatter around like headless chicken and run away.

"Oh man...that girl is really something!" Bryan says in awe. "I wouldn't want to get on her bad side."

Just as you are walking in the corridor someone calls to you. You turn left and see Anthony sitting in one of the compartments. He is sitting alone. "They went to change into their robes." he gives an explanation. "Hi John. How have you been?"

You enter and sit with Anthony. It is a brief and clear talk. You tell him how have you been and how was your summer in a few sentences. The air seems tense. "You know that you are not in the team anymore right?" he asks you.

You nod. "Yeah I guessed that already."
