Welcome to Dark Empire Quest #5: We Need to Standardize the Naming Convention Edition

Previously: Captain Alana Tyrna of the Imperial Navy became a minor war hero after fighting off a Rebel fleet in the Battle of Perma, and Palpatine was overseeing the expansion of his navy and laid the ground work for his next phase of galactic conquest: a bold campaign of expansion in the Core to solidify his foothold and provide the Empire access to territories further to the South.

In this session, we will continue to follow the Reborn Emperor Palpatine as he rules what Empire he has while coveting the rest that will soon be his. The Dark Side of the force grows stronger, more restless as force energies are bent to the will of the Emperor and others, soon, the Sith will be great once more.

I'll be starting a bit early per special request. (Not everyone lives on Galactic Standard Time apparently) so I'll still be at work, and the topics we'll be dealing with are quite major decisions. Consequently, my posts may be delayed, up to 30 mins in the case of my commute. Please be patient at first!

And this is a gold mine resource for Star wars info, take with a grain of salt since this universe follows its own continuity.

Full disclaimer: Canon in my game, Legends or otherwise, is totally fucked. I grabbed parts I liked, smashed em around, and discarded parts I didn't. Cause some is cool and fits, and some ain't and doesn't. Some balances well, (multiple rival warlord factions, renegade dark siders etc) and some doesn't (Fucking Sun Crusher, Galaxy Gun, etc) So if you are major continuity nerd . . . my god, I'm so sorry for the sins I've committed against the EU today.

Mara Jade strode though one the Imperial Palace's many underground passages with the confidence of one who is in familiar territory. This particular passage way was lacking some of the opulent splendor of the higher levels. It looked somehow lumpier, less well contoured. Of course, Mara knew this was because the deeper passages were heavily reinforced against external threats. Everything from speeder bombings to turbolaser bombardment was accounted for. May found the lower halls uncomfortable, claustrophobic and foreboding, but Mara found them comfortingly familiar.

To her, it seemed like only yesterday that she was passing stealthily through these halls, spying on senators invited to the palace, ensuring their loyalties lay in the right place. Now, she had graduated into the next tier, on the cusp of fulfilling her ambition to replace Darth Vader as the Emperor's apprentice.

It was only the thought of replacing Vader that kept her motivated through the many trials the Emperor placed in front of her, the endless hours spent with the Shadow Mages on Byss, learning to sculpt life to her will. The instruction from Palpatine himself in the nature of anger and how to control it. Mara had started her career as an extension of the Emperor's will, his Hand for doing his bidding throughout the empire and beyond. Now, just out of her grasp was power. Real power. The power to shape the galaxy into something more. To put it in order.

Peace is a lie, thought Mara, there is only passion. It was true, she felt no peace. She had thought peace lay in the approval of the Emperor, which accounted for some of the only times she has felt at ease. Now she realized this was a lie. The comfort she'd felt from a "job well done" was merely relief that she no longer had to shoulder the burden of responsibility for the galaxy.

The Emperor had shown her the foolishness of this belief. The threats against order and justice never ceased. It would take a similarly tireless leader to ensure law prevailed.

It is your task to learn what you can from me he had said, your very survival may depend on it. The galaxy needs a strong, capable leader one who can hope to compliment my power and rule by my side. Mara knew she was the one, she felt it within herself, and within the force.
>>
"I must admit I'm surprised you would return to this place so willingly," a voice said from ahead, "After the reception I gave you last time."

Isard.

Mara fixed the Director with a withering gaze, her blood boiling at the thought of her imprisonment and torture at Isard's hands in the wake of the Emperor's death. "I can't blame you for what you did," Mara replied with a shrug, "Not all of us had the Emperor's favor in those days. So few knew of my existence. Actions based on ignorance sometimes have to be forgiven."

Isard scowled, "Not all of us exist to be the Emperor's personal pet."

"Be careful Iceheart," Mara replied, using the nickname many applied to the callous and cruel woman, "This, 'pet' has fangs. A day will come when you make another mistake and your support from the Emperor will run out. And I've gotta be honest, with all of your bumbling, it's a miracle you even held onto Imperial Center as long as you did."

"Is that so?" Isard crossed her arms, "You think you bend the Emperor's ear? From where I'm standing you're just a pretty face with a lightsaber playing at being a Jedi."

"Sith," Mara snarled in reply.

Isard shrugged, "If the Emperor held you in such regard, he would have made you his Executor. Sedriss ran his affairs during his death you know. A highly esteemed role."

"Sedriss is a goon," Mara replied. "He's a laser-brained, muscle-head who has more testosterone than sense."

"And yet Palpatine trusted him with the empire," Isard said. "So what does that say about you?"

Mara knew she could snap Isard's neck without so much as moving a muscle, crush her windpipe until her breath stopped, or even squeeze her beating heart until it trembled and failed.

"You could kill me right now, couldn't you?" Isard asked, reading Mara's expression. "Hmm . . . I wonder why you don't, then." A devilish smile spread across her lips, "Could it be you're afraid of displeasing your master?" her tone was mocking. "It seems you're not as sure of your position as you thought. The Emperor doesn't want a partner. He wants another monster on a leash." With that, Isard turned her back on Mara and walked, with hardly a look back. "Don't forget you're just as replaceable as Vader."

Mara narrowed her gaze on the Director's retreating form, hating her and yet, knowing there was a kernel of truth to what she said. She had to wonder though if Isard was aware she was just as replaceable.

There is much work to be done yet. The Jeslax'raum Reforms have been completed in name only. To date, you have precious few force-wielders at your disposal. Sedriss and the six other Dark Jedi that formerly made up your Dark Side Elite have been made into the Blackguard under Sedriss. Additionally, your mages of Byss have been reorganized into the Shadow Mages, though an Archmage has yet to be selected. Lastly, you have but a small handful of Dark Side Adepts dispersed through the Dark Empire undertaking various small tasks, such as the Shadow Droid Development Program.

In the heyday of your empire, you had hundreds of Dark Siders at your disposal, from Emperor's Hands to the Prophets of the Dark Side. After your resurrection, a loyal few under Sedriss returned, leaving the rest dead, or scattered through the galaxy. To some, like Sedriss, your return was obvious, a given. To others, they may still harbor some doubt or fear of your power. It seems a safe bet that those who did not return are either unable or unwilling, either out of willful disobedience or skepticism.

You have it within your power to change that. Just as you called Mara, you can use the power of the Dark Side to announce your return to force users across the galaxy and beckon them to return to you. Of course, all those who answer the call will supply much needed Dark Jedi to your ranks. However, Dark Siders are infamously poor at cooperation. In the years you've been gone, it seems likely they've established their own orders or become servants for others. If you attempt to recall them to Coruscant, it's likely among the faithful some of the most ambitious, and dangerous Dark Siders would return, they would expect to be rewarded, likely with power and authority within your empire and wouldn't be content to merely serve you. It would provide you many more established options for your Hierarchy, but also would give many more rivals for your power.

While drawing them all together just to murder them and eliminate a source of competition seems like a good idea in theory, the fact of the matter is you simply aren't strong enough to fight an army of force users at once, and your apprentice isn't up for the task either. Attempting to draw them in individually would result in great mistrust and likely result in many no-shows. Not to mention many of the Dark Siders you are dealing with specialize in prophecy and prediction, it may be unwise to plot against them so boldly.

You put out a call with the force, reaching out to those most loyal, whom you could trust almost implicitly. You feel echoes through the force as they reach back. You have confirmed your identity in their eyes and they will be coming back to you.

In time, they have returned, just over a dozen of them, small in number, but among your most loyal followers. Over the following days, they find their way to Byss where you have called a Convocation of the Dark Side. Perhaps not as grand as you had considered, but every Dark Sider under your banner is present and eager for your every word. Your numbers are only boosted in a minor way, perhaps several dozen all told now, but with this fresh influx of experienced Dark Siders, the overall power of your Order has increased greatly.

At some point, a more permanent solution to your numbers problem will have to be found, but for the time being, you must fill the leadership roles of your Dark Side Hierarchy in accordance with your reforms, starting with the Blackguard, the combat arm of your Order. Previously, Executor Sedriss is the de facto leader, as the former head of the Dark Side Elite and with the absence of more powerful force users. Though now he may have some competition. Who will lead these fanatic warriors?

>Sedriss
He has been by your side since the beginning, the first person to greet you in your Reborn body. Sedriss held your Deep Core territories using any means needed. All of this, and he has never once complained about his station or asked for reward, for he considers serving the Emperor to be its own reward. Sedriss is a skilled fighter and a fervent believer in your cause.

>Vess Kogo
Newly returned to your banner, Vess had previously served you as an Emperor's Hand, though he was always more of a war-hammer to Mara's dagger. What Vess lacks in subtlety he makes up for with brutal force. Unlike Sedriss, he has interests outside of the Empire, namely a violent obsession with eradicating the Rebellion and the chaos it represents.

Sedriss quite simply excels in his current role and cannot be replaced. Vess is a powerful asset, however and should not go to waste. You ear mark him as a potential candidate to develop and run the Shocktrooper program you've been considering.

With the leader of the Blackguard decided, you turn to the next group in your Hierarchy, the oldest, and perhaps most feared. The Inquisitorious. Previously tasked with hunting down and killing or turning the last of the Jedi, the Inquisitorious ceased to be relevant just around the destruction of the First Death Star since at the time it was assumed (foolishly) that the Jedi were no longer a threat to your Empire.

The Inquisitorious will surely serve a large part in your coming struggles to produce more Dark Side Adepts, so it is important to choose a skilled leader for the role.

>Antinis Tremayne
A former Jedi padawan turned High Inquisitor before your death, Tremayne was a former pupil of Darth Vader. He is an expert swordsmen, though prideful and frequently obsessive regarding his work, sometimes to the point of distraction. You are aware that to some degree, his swordsmanship has been developed to compensate for a fairly weak grasp of the force.

>Vende Amenge
The child of nobles on Byss, Vende was discovered to be a force sensitive at a young age. He has served as one of your Dark Side Adepts since just before your rebirth. Vende is a prideful arrogant, and aggressive young man who prides himself on knowledge of Sith language and artifacts. He has proven a capable follower and has powerful connections within the Imperial Bureaucracy.

I am worried someone with ties to Vader and a weak force grasp may be more easily manipulated by Luke. That being said, Alexas could be good for an anti-Jedi task force or special training in light saber fighting for our most promising cadets.

Vendor has strong force skills and more importantly connections that can help us pick out some of the strongest adepts and sensitives from the core worlds, so I pick him.

Tremayne had his time, a new generation of Dark Siders is needed, and Vende shows some ambition and reverence for the ancient traditions. He may be on the cocky side, and young, but it will just give him even more incentive to fill the roll better, knowing the eyes of his peers are on him. Some eyes with more malice than others. As Vende rises to his feet after being appointed, you feel the seething rage and jealously pouring from Tremayne nearby.

He will simply have to settle for remaining a High Inquisitor as Vende Amenge rises to the rank of Grand Inquisitor.

On Byss, your Shadow Mages practice ancient Sith Alchemy, warping life to fill their needs, creating deadly beasts and strange monsters. More practically, they conduct experiments to create harder armors, stronger metals, and more powerful weapons through the Dark Side. The Shadow Mages are strictly non-combative, being used for things like prophecy and research. This is a role that had previously been filled partially by the Prophets of the Dark Side, but after your death and rebirth, the Prophets seem to have gone into hiding or been wiped out, certainly none of them responded to your calls.

Who best to serve as Archmage?

>Sly Moore
A shadowy and enigmatic figure, Sly Moore is one of your oldest supporters, going back even to your days as a Naboo Senator. Sly Moore has a special interest in the powers the Dark Side has to offer, holding a fascination with the pursuit of your former master, the creation and manipulation of life itself. You know it has long been her plan to create and breed more powerful force wielders. She is not particularly strong in the force, but wields considerable political power and is loyal to you unto death.

>Balan Faress
Another non-human, Balan is a Gotal Dark Side Adept turned Shadow Mage when he exhibited little ability in the art of combat, but had a special knack for twisting life. It still brings a smile to your face to recall the Gundarks he had crafted into Sithspawn nightmares. The way those Rebel prisoners had screamed when you lowered them headfirst into their tank . . . In any case, Balan is quiet, brooding, and frequently ill-liked by his fellow Dark Siders, but he has a certain spark of creative genius you admire.

Of course, dear, loyal Sly Moore. She will fit perfectly. While not the most skilled of your mages, she is perhaps the best leader among them. Faress will simply have to make do with designing foul beasts of war. After you appoint Moore and she rises, you catch her eye for a moment and catch a glimmer of . . . Something. The woman would never betray you but, she is cooking some kind of scheme it seems, what it could be is beyond your fathoming, her reasoning was frequently obscure. You don't have time to worry about it .

The newest branch remains to be decided. The Komissari, a Dark Side group dedicated to monitoring your navy, exists in idea only for the moment, but you will need a capable leader to keep them in check. For this role, you were forced to do a bit of digging to come up with your candidates, but opted to select two Dark Siders who had previous experience working with your Navy.

>Gwellib Ap-Llewff
A non-human former Jedi from the Agricorps, Ap-Llewff had an unremarkable career as an Inquisitor after being turned to your cause, and served you on Byss where he had a similarly lackluster career as a Byss Mage. He became attached to the Shadow Droid Project where he was responsible for field deployment of the weapons. He led a three-cruiser squadron under escort from a fleet commanded by, now war hero Alana Tyrna. Ap-Llewf proved himself a calm and capable leader, always listening rather than speaking when possible and reporting everything he saw and heard to you.

>Brakiss
A young human, Brakiss served briefly as an Inquisitor before the Inquisition ended, there he served you in various capacities as a Dark Side Adept. Brakiss served under Ap-Llewff, but gained your attention by being an outspoken critic of the Navy, citing their poor reliability, and their lack of connection to the Dark Side. Where Ap-Llewff is quiet and withdrawn, Brakiss is fiery and direct. He also has had training for subterfuge and knows how spies think.

Ap-Llewff, in contrast, had positive things to say about the loyalty of most of its officers. He recommended a few needed to be reeducated about the role of the Dark Side in the Empire, but most were obedient and dedicated.

His positive remarks about Captain Tyrna's performance helped to offset Admiral Zahn's negative ones after the Battle of Coruscant, and ensured she was not reprimanded or punished.

With the Convocation completed, your inner cabal stands together with you. At your side, Mara Jade, your apprentice-to-be, Sedriss, Darkest Knight of your Blackguard, Vende Amenge, your Grand Inquisitor, Sly Moore, your Archmage, and Ap-Llewff the Emperor's Eye. These individuals will be instrumental in shaping the future of your Empire. If they can survive their subordinates, of course.

With the Cabal chosen, you are pulled back to more mundane things.

A minor detail has been brought to your attention regarding the warship Blood Oath, the first of your new Star Destroyers assembled at Kuat. Blood Oath Is the latest breed of the Imperial II-Class, visibly different from other Star Destroyers of the same class only by the red flashes and trim that mark it as a prestigious command.

There had been some debate over this ship's new commander, as such assignments are frequently quite prestigious. Normally, decisions like this are left to your vast bureaucracy and military organization, however this particular ship assignment has devolved from scandal. On Kuat, two of your flag officers have died, killed by one another in an honor duel fighting for the right to command the ship. This news has been leaked in the Empire, revealing that the ship manufacturer, Kuat Drive Yards, and the Kuati noble families had conspired to award the ship to one of their own when a scuffle broke out between siblings over the right to command, ultimately ending in the deaths of two young men.

Now, the fate of the ship is left to you two, bestowing it as you see fit.

The Blood Oath is too vital of a command to be handed out to a one-time victor like this Captain Tyrna. Perhaps she could serve as an honorary captain under Jade, or get awarded her own special command if she proves herself further at some future point . . .

In any case, it will go to your apprentice. Mara will need the means to travel the galaxy and enforce your will. Just as Vader had Devastator, Mara will have Blood Oath. Once Mara proves her worth, and once resources allow, you plan to supply her with a more formidable command, but for now, a simple Imperial II-Class will do.

With your campaign to the galactic south, Director of Imperial Intelligence, Yssane Isard made mention of stalling Thrawn's activity with a diplomatic outreach to him. Such actions are merely intended to stall a potential confrontation with him, but perhaps they could prove fruitful. As the most capable of your former Grand Admirals he would make a powerful ally. Of course, Thrawn, being military-minded, may not be the best man to contact in this case. Grand Moff Ardus Kaine may prove a more prudent first contact, being the apparent political leader of Thrawn's Empire. The necessary arrangements have been made for a holonet transmission to either individual.

This is true, but the problem of course is that your Adepts are intentionally starved of knowledge. It's a tenant of the Rule of Two. If you start passing out jedi/sith teachings, they may want yet MORE knowledge and ultimately become Sith themselves. A previous decision was made to keep them dumb and controllable, but organized and maintain Rule of Two.

Thrawn is the true mastermind, he would be the one to speak to, He was once your best Grand Admiral, perhaps he will listen to you again.

Once more holonet connections are established between worlds over the unimaginable vastness of space. You, sitting upon your throne, are greeted by a flickering hologram of the Chiss Grand Admiral himself, standing tall and dressed in the immaculate, white uniform of an Imperial Grand Admiral. The uniform you put him in.

His vivid red eyes narrow when the connection establishes. He studies you with the same sort of careful eye he studied battlefields with. You feel at a distinct disadvantage facing him like this, give the vast distances involved you have to rely purely on your innate skill for reading people with no way to properly sense his thoughts. Thrawn speaks first

"I take it you are the one that has laid control to Imperial Center and the Deep Core?"

Thrawn blinks, "I take it to mean then that the cloning facility on Byss is fully operational."

"I would say I'm proof enough of that, my friend," you reply, smiling. "You're no stranger to Spartii Cylinders yourself."

Again, the Grand Admiral barely reacts, but you see enough subtle hints. He didn't know you were aware of his interest in cloning technology. "Well then . . . Emperor. What is it that you want exactly?"

To be fair, in the movie Sidious has switched hos Battle Meditation from the Confederacy to the Grand Army, and without Dooku's leadership, there is no overall leader of the CSA, and Grievous, as a warlord, makes a poor Head of State/Government.

"It's clear that there is no sense in this pointless fighting. We should be allies," you say, your voice placating. "Surely you know that your talents would serve far better at my side than Grand Moff Kaine's."

Thrawn gives you a narrow smile, "I don't see any particular benefit to restoring your throne as opposed to creating my own at this stage."

"Is that so?" you ask, "I am your Emperor, does that answer not suffice? Since when have you cared for personal power or glory?"

"You were my Emperor," Thrawn corrects, "But I never served who you were. I served what you were." Thrawn sees you confusion and elaborates, "The Emperor was a bastion of order, a beacon of law in a chaotic and unforgiving galaxy. In the end, you were a symbol. Symbols can lose their power."

"Is that a threat?" you ask, anger rising in you. "No, it's a statement of fact," Thrawn replies, his voice level. "You are correct though, I have no interest in fighting you, and I can agree to cease any hostile actions on our mutual border."

If you are asking when we say he will regret his decision is for one. Thrawn doesn't play to loose. If he join us he will have to betray his other ally. Thrawn is a loyal man at the end and we are currently weaken, we should be surprised with him declaring a neutrality this is just him saying that even if we don't have the good odds in our favor, he believes that we will manage to reach power.

And about him regreting his decision it's because he won't be able to see his emperor raising to greatness or have joined awhen this great symbol of order fougth against the galaxy chaos.

"You're mistaken if you think I was just a symbol of power," You retort, wishing to be in the same room as Thrawn, if only to course Dark Side energy through his body, crackling and frying his nerves. You fought these feelings down, you couldn't let your anger dictate your actions.

"Is that so?" Thrawn asked.

"In time, you will see."

Thrawn smiles again, "Yes, I suppose that I will."

His defiance against you made you only more sure than ever that you had made a good decision in making him one of your Grand Admirals. If only your resurrection had come sooner, you might have been able to enlist Thrawn's aid rather than having to beg for it like a dog.

You study the Grand Admiral for a long moment before continuing, "No more of these raids on certain worlds however, It's a waste of both our manpower which is so limited these days with the rebellion existence."

"I quite agree," Thrawn says.

"You joined me once, when I found you. I made you who you are," you say, "What is it you fight for, Thrawn? What is it that you want?"

"I fight for stability," Thrawn replies, "When I feel your empire offers that . . . Perhaps things will be different."

"I think you will find that my mercy is far better to experience than my displeasure," you say, lowering your voice.

"I suspect you're correct," Thrawn says, remaining neutral.

From his expression, you suspect this conversation is proceeding exactly as he wants. Very well, let Thrawn think you're playing into his hands. He will be made to remember why you rule the Empire and he was merely your tool.

You leave it to Mas Amedda to hash out the details of the non-aggression treaty with Thrawn and end the conversation. Velusia remained in Thrawn's hands, but you scattered the intervening systems with picket and patrol ships. Any effort the Grand Admiral Makes to attack Imperial Center from that direction will be detected and halted long before it reaches the capital.

The moment has finally come. You felt the subtle shift in the force, the moment that marks the awakening of a second Sith, your Apprentice, Mara Jade. The time is right for her ascension to become a Dark Lord. Her preliminary training is finished, her sacrifice complete, the adoration she felt for you replace by self-determination and a drive to improve herself.

At the appointed time, you assemble your cabal of Dark Side followers, they are gathered in the shadowy halls of your private throne room to witness the birth of a new Sith Lord, that they may see what they should aspire to become. As Mara approaches you where you stand and kneels before you, you feel the envious eyes of a dozen others on her. Good, let them crave the power of the apprentice rather than that of the master, they will nip at her heels and stab at her back rather than your own.

"You have honed your anger," you say to her, "learned to control it. Your passion drives you and will empower you. It makes you stronger."

Mara is to become a Dark Lord on this day, her old identity will cease to be relevant to her and her new one will symbolize her life as a Sith. Henceforth, she will be known as . . .

"At the moment of my death I gave you a command," you say to Cythera. "It is this command I expect you to fulfill. You will execute your task."

"Yes, my master," Cythera replies, bowing her head.

"I will outfit your mission when the time comes, but first, Skywalker and his pathetic Jedi rabble must be found. I leave this assignment to you, my apprentice."

"He will feel your revenge, my master," Cythera says, her voice cold and precise, when she looks up at you, you catch a tell-tale glint of yellow in her eyes.

"Go now, begin your search for Skywalker and his Jedi."

Darth Cythera rises, physically the same as when she entered yet, somehow different, possessing a purpose and a drive she didn't have before. As Mara Jade, she was a tool, as Cythera she has her own motivations, goals, and aspirations.

With your apprentice finally selected formally, you feel a new chapter in your war against the Jedi and the Rebellion has begun. The Sith have returned, more powerful than ever.

The doors close behind Cythera as your own laughter fills the throne room.

That wraps this session of Dark Empire Quest. This weekend is an "On' weekend so there will be games tomorrow and the next day as well. We'll wrap things with Palpatine and likely return to Alana in that time. Thanks for playing everyone! Follow the Twitter for more specific play times!

Rattling around various design firms in the empire. He helped design Tarkin's super laser in fact.

Oh cool, so he's still on side. Could he make something capable of rendering a planet uninhabitable? A la Dac in Legacy?
>>

Potentially? Him or Leth, just needs to get the right resources. It's hard to restore your navy AND build gargantuan super weapons. I won't allow "cheap" or "easy" super weapons for balancing purposes. An easy game is a dull game

I am taking a note of that. Possibly. Dac is a long ways off.

I am sensing the general urge for widespread destruction. In time. If I pull all stops now, there won't be anything left later! I want this Quest to be long term. Might be a crazy plan, but I'm a crazy guy.

BDZ for Chandrilla, Genocide for Mon Calamari and a weapons test for Bothawui right?

Chandrilla's population centers can be destroyed, and it can be resettled, genocide for Dac, genocide and colonization for Bothawui.

Superweapons test on Sullust, Dark Side Temple rebuilt on Yavin IV, superweapon tests on Endor, the planet and the moons, glassing for Tatooine.

And if the Hutts don't like Tatooine, then we use Centerpoint Station to crash Nar Shadah into Nal Hutta, assuming it exists.

I just saw the thread (I was traveling). Looking forward to the run later today. It's a little disappointing we are sending Mara to kill Luke right off (I would have tasked her to kill Leia to fill Luke with rage and help him along the path to the dark side). But it will work out well enough as is. There's no rush to kill Luke asap and a hurried approach could get Mara killed if she is not careful.

Dark Empire returns!

Mara Jade has become Darth Cythera, and you have tasked her with tracking down and killing arguably your most dangerous foe, Luke Skywalker.

Before we can finish Palatine's planning and return to Alana, we have to make some choices for Darth Cythera.

As always follow Twitter for updates and game times.

Also, changes have been made on my pastebin to bring it up to date with where we are in the game. I am also going to work on a character list at some point too.

Let's get rolling!

***

You are Darth Cythera. In the past you had been Mara Jade, but whatever she was is gone now, burned away in your awakening as a Sith. After your ascension on Coruscant, you take a Lambda shuttle to orbit where your new command ship, Blood Oath, waits. Once aboard, you are given a tour by a nervous naval captain who is serving as your Executive Officer. Blood Oath houses an entire Legion of Stormtroopers, including a regiment of Shadowtroopers who respond directly to you and the Dark Side Hierarchy rather than the Imperial Navy. AT-ATS and AT-ST walkers round out your ground forces, and together provide you with ability to take a hold land on a planet or board starships should the need ever arise.

Also present is a variety of shuttles, gunboats, landing craft and boarding craft. It has a six squadron fighter compliment consisting of three squadrons of Tie/Ad "Avengers", two squadrons of Scimitar Assault Bombers, and a single squadron of Tie/ph "Phantoms", virtually irreplaceable since the Stygium crystals that power their on board cloaking devices are not only incredibly rare, but also cannot be found within your territory. The pilots aboard Blood Oath are among the best in the Dark Empire.

With that said, all of the firepower in the galaxy can't help you find Skywalker. You've poured over reports on his whereabouts, compiled both from public holonet archives, and from reports compiled from Isard's intelligence bureau. Luke, it seemed, had been busy. Making confirmed stops at Dac, Bothawui, and Kashyyk, among others. He had declared his intention to the Rebel government to rebuild the Jedi order and to that end had been gathering information on the Jedi, relics, and of course, seeking out force sensitives to train. It was believed he had already assembled a number of them and begun to train them. As it stands, Imperial Intelligence analysts predict Luke is unlikely to leave either Rebel-controlled space, or neutral space and is likely avoiding populated areas. This still leaves thousands of worlds he could be on. How will you track him down?

>Hire bounty hunters to scour the galaxy
>Dispatch Inquisitors to find him
>Employ the Shadow Mages to seek him through the force
>I will investigate rumors of him myself aboard Blood Oath
>I will search myself on a less conspicuous vessel
>Send Imperial Intelligence Agents to look for him

One option would to bring him to us. Say a few whispers in the right ears that Darth Vader captured Ahoska Tano alive... He might leave Rebel space for his father's old apprentice.

>Employ the Shadow Mages to seek him through the force

>>1433961

Anything Force based he might detect and while our Empire is fledgling it wouldn't be a wise idea for us the use scare resources on this. Finally, us jumping through space randomly is asking for trouble.

This is a low cost, low impact approach. We can try this first and escalate if necessary.
>>
>>1433961
>Employ the Shadow Mages to seek him through the force

>Dispatch Inquisitors to find him

Bounty hunters could never taken down skywalker let the Mages search through the force for him, and have the inquisitors resume some of their former jedi hunting activities to locate him. However, make it clear to the Inquisitors that Skywalker is our prey and they are not to engage him without us.
>>
>>1433961

>>1434008

We only need to know were he is using bounty hunters to track him is a thing. Once he's found we can give another bounty for his head. We are asking for information of his were abouts not to kill him

Imperial Intelligence 's headquarters was located in a subbasement, and on Coruscant where 99% of everything was underneath something else, that was saying quite a lot. You are Emperor Palpatine, and you are feeling rather impatient as you walk through the darkened halls of Intelligence Bureau, flanked by a pair of crimson-robed Royal Guardsman, officers and operatives scrambling out of your way with terrified looks or hasty salutes. Your attention had been requested by Isard who reported "urgent, vital" information about your coming military operations. Ordinarily, you would make her come to you, but you didn't like the message left unsaid in her message "There is a problem."

The door to Isard's office hisses open and the startled Director rises to her feet, "Your highness, I didn't-"

"Spare me," you reply, crossing your arms, "If you have vital information to the coming campaign, it's paramount I hear about it."

The two Royal Guardsmen close the door behind you and stand monolithically to either side.

"Yes, of course," Isard says, already regaining her composure. "My informants on Commenor have reported an increase in starship and ferry activity-"

"Director," you interrupt, your voice oozing patience. "If this is vital enough to potentially forestall my plans for the Rebellion and Corellia, then I want the simple facts."

"Very well," Isard replies, her eyes half lidded, face calm, "The rebel fleet is massing at Commenor."

As Isard speaks, it as if a switch were flicked for you. Suddenly, you can feel it in the force. It is hidden, muted, but present. A gathering of soldiers, hopeful, fearful. "A counter attack," you say, your voice distant. "That is our fear, Highness."

The rebels are indeed massing at Commenor, as you reach out through the force you catch glimpses of the future. A titanic battle in orbit of Kuat, bombs falling on Foundry, obliterating the factories Kuat will so desperately need. You can see the sleek shapes of rebel fighters diving on Trellen, attacking its orbital defenses. You sense death.

"My liege?"

Of course, the future is never certain, you had forseen victory at Endor, but it can be foolish to disregard such warnings. It seemed the Rebels were going to beat you to the punch by striking at Kuat where your fleets under Admiral Oxtroe were assembling. It wasn't clear if the rebels knew of the existence of your forces or not, but it certainly could put your plans in a new light.

>We will change nothing, let events happen as they may

We should still send 2 fleets to secure Correllia, but now keep the remaining fleets in reserve. Assign one fleet to the defense of Kuat, hopefully with a known defensive hero like Alana and her task force in there somewhere. When the rebels attack and are committed bring the remainder of our forces in from behind out of hyperspace to cut off escape and close the noose. There will be no survivors.
>>
>>1434186
I'm really surprised no one has asked till now.Yes, it is. It serves as a sort of "escape pod" for you, as well as a secret prison that Isard keeps her pet projects in.
>>
>>1434126
>Kowning the Rebels are gathering at Commenor changes everything . . . (Rethink the plan hastily)
Given that Thrawn will not attack us from behind, we can use the defence forces stationed at the Capital for this attack.
>>
>>1434202
Interesting...

I think we should keep it there though. If I recall correctly, launching it kills millions of people, which is a propaganda victory that we should not just hand the rebels.

Also, an escape pod is always useful.

With the Rebels assembling reinforcements and preparing to go on the offensive, this changed things. The question was, how best to alter the plan to suit current events?

>Oxtroe will hold at Kuat, Yazz at Trellen and we will await the rebel attack
>Continue with the plan to seize Corellia under Yazz, but Oxtroe will leave Kuat apparently undefended as a means to draw the Rebels into a trap
>We will continue with the plan as normal, but only send one fleet to Corellia, keeping the other in reserve, just in case.

The other question is, knowing what we know now, should we call the Coruscant defense forces to help? Please answer both questions

>Call the defense fleet to support
>Leave the defenses in place just in case

For reference:

Old Plan:
(Feint at Commenor, real effort at Corellia)
3 Fleets attack Rebel lines near Commenor Objective is to keep the Rebels busy, not take "ground"
2 fleets make advance on Corellia
1 Fleet kept in reserve at Coruscant to defend against Thrawn
>>
>>1434233
We need some Interdictors, otherwise they might just attempt to flee.

We should definetly bring the Tarkin and our two SSDs.
>>
>>1434266
Honestly, I'd suggest we procede as 'planned' but the Jump be much shorter. This way we are ready to return and ambush the Rebel fleet when they arrive to take our stuff. We don't know who a mole is and what not so keep everything else the same.
>>
>>1434266
>We will continue with the plan as normal, but only send one fleet to Corellia, keeping the other in reserve, just in case.

>Call the defense fleet to support

Both additional fleets are to go to Kaut
>>
>>1434266
We should attack before we do. Preemptive attack
>>
>>1434266
>We will continue with the plan as normal, but only send one fleet to Corellia, keeping the other in reserve, just in case

>Call the defense fleet to support

Say, how has the Shadow Droid Program been coming along? After all that data we gathered before while taking Coruscant, would we be able to mass some more squadrons here against the Rebels?

Also, will this plan ensure that we don't let the Rebels bomb Foundry? I don't want to lose those factories for Kuat
>>
>>1434266
>Continue with the plan to seize Corellia under Yazz, but Oxtroe will leave Kuat apparently undefended as a means to draw the Rebels into a trap.

>Call the defense fleet to support

Have one fleet at Kuat because to leave it entirely I defended is incredibly suspicious. When they are attacked bring the rest of our forces in to block the hyperlanes. Do we have any interdictors?
>>
>>1434266
>Continue with the plan to seize Corellia under Yazz, but Oxtroe will leave Kuat apparently undefended as a means to draw the Rebels into a trap

>Call the defense fleet to support
>>
>>1434320
Meant to say leaving Kuat entirely undefended would be suspicious. It could allow the rebels to anticipate a trap. If we make it look lightly defended there is a better chance the rebels will take the bait when we bring the reinforcements in.
>>
>>1434337
Agreed. It's 'too' obvious.

If that vote wins, maybe just have one fleet at Kaut with the rest of our forces massed in another system ready to jump in.
>>
>>1434313
>How has the Shadow Droid Program been coming along?
It's under limited mass production now. You haven't had any to directly command because Alana has only commanded lower tier ships.

>will this plan ensure that we don't let the Rebels bomb Foundry?
The rebels already control Foundry. The meaning of the vision isn't clear.

I haven't mentioned any specifically, but yes, there are a handful floating around.
>>
>>1434320
This, also we should take the Emperor's fleet out
>>
>>1434349
Thanks OP.

Any chance we can have light defenses at Kuat rather than no defenses at all for the ambush? Leaving it totally undefended will look highly suspicious.
>>
>>1434366
Yes, sorry if it was unclear "apparently undefended" should read "Much less defended that it should be"
>>
>>1434266
>Oxtroe will hold at Kuat, Yazz at Trellen and we will await the rebel attack
When you say we, you mean Palpatine's fleet centered around the Tarkin, correct?
>>
>>1434375
No, let me be more clear:

Palpatine's personal fleet is not counted on the normal fleet roster. This "defense fleet" is a standard fleet.

For the Tarkin task force to be added to any plan, it requires at least 3 votes to that effect
>>
Lets have the Correllia run not start until after the rebel fleet charges in at Kuat. Otherwise they might see our vulnerable splinter fleet and attempt to charge and crush it if the main forces have not yet engaged.
>>
>>1434385
Having Tarkin's fleet in the battle would be best in my mind, use the superlaser to destroy their carriers, and then a force storm to finish off the capital ships.
>>
>>1434402
So we want to have a preemptive strike?
>>
It's clear people want the defense fleet to help. But both plans are tied between springing a trap, and more or less sticking to the plan.

If there are no tie breaking votes soon, I'll try to collate these plans.

This sort of activity by the Rebels shows that they don't quite take you seriously as a threat. Well, it's time they see you are not a petty warlord to be trifled with. With your new treaty with Thrawn, you'll use that as an opportunity to bring your full force to bear on them, not only the fleet you have in orbit of Coruscant, but your personal flagship and its escorts as well. Let the Rebels see how an Emperor fights. You've decided to open up Kuat, as a trap. Leaving only a single combat fleet in orbit, moving the rest of your forces to orbit of Balmorra, and moving your Coruscant fleet, including Tarkin to Raxxa as a reserve, just in case. Once the Rebels are full engaged with Kuat's defenders, you'll spring the trap, boxing them in between your navy, and the defenses of Kuat.

There is a risk to the shipyards being damaged, one that the KDY and Kuati nobility will likely protest, but the risk will be worth it if the Rebel fleet is crushed.

Once battle is joined, you will launch your Corellian attack. Though with an anemic, single fleet, it will be a dicey proposition. But you have confidence in your commanders, that they can pull it off.

"There is one more thing," Isard says, "I've managed to get a high ranking officer under 'High Admiral' Reddrin on the Intelligence payroll. This individual has informed us that Reddrin has begun receiving regular visits from dignitaries from outside the Brentaal Protectorate. He assumes they are Thrawn's."

If Reddrin is in talks with Thrawn, and the Protectorate joins him, it would mean a massive new threat to your north. Currently, the Protectorate is an isolated series of fortresses protecting major worlds. In Thrawn's hands, it would become an impregnable staging base pointed at Imperial Center.

Was it confirmed he died? He's one of only five or so individuals to successfully use Essence Transfer.

The Darkstaff, or something like that, it just makes Force Storms, one of which sucked out Rivan's force powers, then threw him forward to the Ruusan campaign, where he got killed instantly.

I thought that he wore two on his gloves when he first became a Sith, maybe I was wrong, but yes, his amulet.

"Let me give Reddrin a chance to listen to reason first," You say. "I don't have the time to turn my fleets around to deal with petulant warlords."

The hours that pass after your conversation with Isard, but before you raise Reddrin on the holonet are painfully long. When you do finally get him, it's clear Reddrin isn't any more excited to speak with you, than you with he.

"This is High Admiral Reddrin of the Brentaal Protectorate," the graying man rattles off, looking at you like someone might look at an insect nearby. "What is it that you want?"

Given the difficult time the Empire had canonically in tracking down these people and in being sure all the Jedi were dead, I'm gonna go with "no". I'm sure there's a reason in canon. But I don;t know what it is. Let's say some enterprising Padawan purged the Jedi archives during Vader's own purge? Because there's no good explanation for why the Empire would shrug its shoulders around 0BBY and say "yup, I guess we got em all." At any rate, if the Inquisition assumed anything then, they assume that same thing now. like "Well I guess they died of natural causes by now" etc

A'Sharad Hett became Darth Krayt in the EU, the circumstances behind that are too complex to go into, but he survived the Purge, went back home to Tatooine, got destroyed by Obi-Wan, and fled to Korriban, where he stayed until 25 ABY, 15 years from this quest.

Quinlan Voss was a Jedi who became one of Dooku's Dark Side acolytes thanks to his reliance on Vaapad, but eventually switched sides back to the Republic towards the end of the Clone War before dropping off the grid.

Vergere is a bird-woman who sucks Vong cock for money.

Reddrin scoffs, "Are you serious? Is that what they got me out of bed for? I don't have time for this. If you want Brentaal, you can take it from me. Just you try it."

Reddrin's image shudders and disappears as he cuts the commlink. Well, you gave him a chance. With that, you authorize Isard to handle it and put Reddrin out of your mind.

Despite your interest in the arcane, and your special hobby of making monsters, you recognize that now what you need is concrete, practical weapons of war.

You've seen the designs Moore is tinkering with, alongside Umak Leth, your trusted designer of the Shadow Droid.

Using Sith Alchemy and Dark Side techniques, together they are crafting a new series of weapons and ships, starting with what is simply being called "A Sith Cruiser". A smallish vessel, planned to be nearly invisible to sensors , it may at some point become a primary means of conveyance for your Dark Side Adepts. For now, it is still on the drawing board as a test bed for other weapons and systems.

Lastly, there is some question over how to most effectively boost your number of Dark Side Adepts. Moore and Sedriss are in favor of converting one of your Academies into a Sith Academy for the testing and training of Force sensitives. However, your freshly minted Grand Inquisitor Vende Amenge opposes this plan. He believes that the time and effort to construct a dedicated Sith Academy is prohibitive at present, not to mention time consuming and a further bottleneck on your diminutive Officer Corps with one less military academy to use. He is of the opinion that waiting for voluntary applicants is unnecessary and instead believes this is a task the Inquisition could be applied to well. If his Inquisitors begin to scour the space you already control for force sensitives, they could be taken to Byss for apprenticeship within one of the Dark Order's branches.

Moore finds forcible recruitment distasteful and prefers willing applicants, despite the costs and time involved. Both of these plans are manpower prohibitive, in that a full scale Inquisition cannot be run while a large academy and is also maintained. This means realistically only one plan can be selected.

You have every intention of once again executing an Inquisition, at least on the territory you control, but you are interested first in the opinion of your last cabal member.

"My opinion, master?" Ap-Llewff asks, his normally placid voice managing to somehow sound surprised.. "Of course I support the Inquisition, Master. It was through the Inquisition I came to serve you, and in the Inquisition I served. There are many sentients in the galaxy, young as I was, who don't yet know the correct path. When Lord Vader found me, I was brainwashed by the Jedi, I believed myself useful only for tending crops. With his guidance, and yours, I now see my true potential."

"Thank you for your insights. You may go," you reply. As Ap-Llewff leaves your chambers, you make certain that you will restart the Inquisition. After all, at minimum, any force sensitive you find is one less that Skywalker can pull to his Jedi Academy.

The Inquisition will begin again, and you suspect no one will expect it.

You are Alana Tyrna, and you are currently returning to Splinter, your first major command. The moment is bittersweet for you. While you had known Grim Death would be a temporary command, you still feel a sense of loss when you leave the ship behind at the Kuat Drive Yards in orbit where the ship was having a complete systems overhaul.

It was there you'd first heard someone call you "the Bloody Baroness." It hadn't been to your face, and it hadn't been negative necessarily. It was more like you were a force of nature.

The Bloody Baroness strikes again, the dockworker had said to a companion of his as they read a computer terminal on the wall listing all of the needed repairs. You knew little could be done about these nicknames soldiers assigned their officers. That is, aside from getting a worse one, or earning a better one. For now, you would accept it.

You had other reasons to be excited about your return to command Splinter, of course you had a much better report with your subordinates, a XO who didn't hate your guts, a hotshot Tie pilot, and a gunnery officer so good you'd swear she had some Sith in her blood. That, and the shiny new rank plaque that graced the breast of your uniform, as well as a new code cylinder to go along with it.

Your promotion to Commander had been a brief affair aboard Oxtroe's command ship, the admiral herself looking somewhat peeved, but in the end, you got what you wanted. The recognition for the defense of Perma was nice as well, certainly it was more visible that your previous victories had been. It was a shame your achievement had been overshadowed by Zhan's fight at Neimoidia, and the bombardment of Balmorra, but you had occasionally caught snippets of your story on the holonet.

You only hoped that your Father would recognize what a victory this had been, for the Empire, for your family, and for you.

You have no time to worry about your Father's approval however, as your shuttle exits hyperspace in the Lolnar system. You made it a point, despite the feeble, polite, protests of the pilots to be present in the cockpit when you arrived in system. Ahead of you, you see the familiar dagger shapes of Star Destroyers. There are six of them altogether, four Imperial-Class, and two Victory-Class. You only have eyes for one of them. Yours.

You see the familiar Splinter Task force, freshly repaired at Foerost and returned to the front with some new additions. The first is the Lancer-Class Turmoil which you were authorized just before you left for Grim Death. There is also three Carrack-Class assigned to your command, individually, they aren't much, but together they make a formidable fighting force.

Before long, your shuttle reaches Splinter and lands in the shuttle bay, a full honor guard present for your return. You somehow manage to wipe the dumb grin off your face by the time the shuttle ramp lowers. As you stride down it, you catch sight of your XO, Lieutenant Roth Tierce, standing rigidly attention at the bottom of the ramp.

"Cap-" He catches himself, "Commander Tyrna, welcome back aboard."

"It's good to be back, Lieutenant. I see our happy little task force has grown."

"Yes, ma'am," Tierce says, turning and matching pace with you as you leave the hangar, heading for the turbolifts. "Four new vessels. Nearly as many new problems."

"Nothing you can't handle, I'm sure."

"Hardly," Tierce says. "I've actually been waiting for you to come back . We need you to appoint a captain for that Lancer."

"Appoint a captain?" You asked, shocked, "By the Emperor, Lieutenant, that hasn't been done yet? Who's been helming her?"

"We've had her helmed by a conscript lieutenant from Xorth," Tierce says, his emphasis of the agriworlds name is hardly positive. You knew quite well his thoughts on conscripted officers. "They navy's still shaken up after the fighting at Neimoidia, and the preparations for . . . Whatever we've got going next."

It was obvious to almost everyone that Corellia was the target of your fleet. After all, there was nothing worth fighting for down this trunk until after you passed Corellia.

So, it falls to you to decide a commander for Turmoil. You know options are limited given the Officer shortage in the Empire. You could always give Tierce his first independent command and choose a new XO. You also have the promising Lieutenant Zepal, she got he start on a Lancer and might do well in command of one, though she tends to be more technically oriented than command oriented. Another obvious choice is making this Lieutenant conscript from Xorth her commander, despite Tierce's objections. And there was always another option, pulling some favor with your father to get a competent officer with experience transferred to your command.

>How about your own command, Lieutenant Tierce?
>It's time we see how Lieutenant Zepal does in command
>I'm sure her current commander, conscript or not, will do fine
>I'll speak with my father to see if we can get a *real* officer sent over.

>>
"Well how about yourself, Lieutenant?"

"Ma'am?" Tierce asks.

"I know a Lancer isn't the most prestigious command in the fleet, but it is more or less independent. It looks good to have under your belt. Is that something you're interested in?"

Tierce seems conflicted, "Ma'am, I'm not sure. I'm sure there are more experienced officers in the fleet…"

"Oh, I'm sure," you reply with a smile, "But none I trust more than you."

"And none you have access to, you mean," Tierce replies, "I feel like you'll need me onboard Splinter now."

"I'll make do if I have to. If you really thing this boy from Xorth can run the ship . . . "

Tierce scoffs, "I'd sooner let a Gamorrean run it. At least a Gamorrean has fighting spirit." Tierce sighs, "I don't want to leave you ma'am, but I understand. I'll captain Turmoil, for you. But promise me you'll get a real XO."

"I can promise to try," you reply.

"Very good," Tierce salutes. "In that case, I expect I'll let you run your ship and I'll get to mine."

You return the salute, "When I get a better ship to offer you-"

"Just promise me you'll recommend me for CO of Splinter once you get promoted out, Commander."

The two of you part ways, but now as Tierce said, you find yourself once again without an XO and forced to seek one out. You still have your shortlist from your previous hunt, and you could always try to pull a favor from your father.

It takes minutes to contact Turmoil.

"Lieutenant Ralitar," he says. A young man, but hardly a boy, you see the look Tierce had mentioned. A casual resignation, an acceptance of his job, but certainly he does not embrace it. In the old empire, such looks could be common with midshipman and technicians on warships, but to see it in an officer . . . Unthinkable. "Oh, Commander Tyrna, ma'am."

"Lieutenant Ralitar," you begin, "Lieutenant Tierce is on his way over to assume command of Turmoil, because I would like you to serve as Executive Officer for me on board Splinter."

"Uh, me, ma'am?" he asks.

You nod, face concealing any amusement.

"I um. I'm flattered of course, than you commander but . . . I actually would prefer to remain on Turmoil if that's possible."

"I'm afraid you misunderstand, Lieutenant," you continue, "Your command of Turmoil is over regardless. This is not a slight to your abilities, just standard restructuring."

Ralitar still looks uneasy, "Yes, ma'am, I understand. But either way, I would prefer to remain on Turmoil. I've become attached to the ship, ma'am."

You'd never heard of anyone becoming attached to a Lancer before, but you supposed such things could happen.

"Lieutenant, this is not a request," you narrow your eyes at him., "This is an order."

For a moment, Ralitar's face changes, from casual resignation to a look of determination. A flicker of his eyes shows inner resolve. And then it's gone.

"Yes, ma'am," he says.

"Have your things packed and be aboard Splinter within three hours."

"Three hours," he repeats.

"Tyrna, out."

You close the com and sigh. The navy is so different from how it was when you joined. Things had seemed so simple before Endor. And now . . .

No time to worry about it. You had three ship captains to meet, a task force to organize and, eventually, a military campaign to execute. So much stands ahead of you and yet all you feel is eagerness for the coming fight. Another step forward, another step closer to restoring the rightful order of things.

Sorry for the delay, had to eat.

Anyway, I won't name names- Oh who am I kidding. It's a quest on anonkun called Twilight of the Republic and it is one huge clusterfuck.

On the character generation alone, the MC is a boy genius with Revan and Lord Hoth's spirits sharing his body with him. Why? Because of the site's broken dice. And it gets worse from there.
>>
>>1435670
>the MC is a boy genius with Revan and Lord Hoth's spirits sharing his body
So he's double retarded?
>>
>>1435665
What about the secret to eternal life itself?
>>
>>1435674
If only you blissfully ignorant peon, if only...

Thanks to those two helping him out along with the fact that he's a genius, the MC literally gets ALL the levels and awesome perks during his education and childhood. Normally perks and skills as powerful and potent as the ones literally handed to him on a silver platter by half-naked Zeltron and Twi'Lek waitresses can only be gained through heroic undertakings and years of practice, here? He literally gets them from the get-go.
>>
>>1435680
Sidious has what is essentially the perfect Essence Transfer, which is basically immortality.

If you mean an unkillable body, that would take a lot of time that we don't have.

>>1435684
Sounds like abject cancer, is the QM a Revanfag?
>>
>>1435688
Worse than cancer, the autismos on A-kun love it and decry any who say the writer is out of his mind for allowing the MC to become such a massive Mary Sue as "jealous" or "salty". Apparently, they like a power fantasy where they can literally win at everything forever.
>>
>>1435665
TO be honest, that's a canon problem. Star wars has so much "one upsmanship" that sith/jedi CREATED later look much better, simply because they had to try to top them. Its why teh Obi v vader duel in Ep 4 looks liek so much crap, or why Luke looks like a chump compared to any random no-name Jedi from Clone Wars. Makes it hard to compare them. I try to levelize them all in my mind and keep what is said in context. Like, Luke is supposed to be a crazy good Jedi, even though he doesn't actually do much with the Force all that much. I'm rambling. Maybe someone will understand what I am saying [/ramble]

>>1435674
>So he's double retarded?
I lol'd

>>1435670
>Sorry for the delay, had to eat.
You are forgiven.

Jesus fuck that sounds nightmarish. And broken dice are why I am so reluctant to have dice rolling things within the game "public facing". I promise you I roll dice behind the scenes, and I am working out a public-facign combat system for force users to fight. Cythera V Luke *cough cough*

Basically, I've learned jsut don't really do character creation like that in a Quest game. I can't see it going well. I let you guys pick Alana's character traits (like her personality to some degree) and her background. I think that works fine. But hey, I'm biased.
>>
>>1435684
So a mary-sue quest. That sounds like a really shitty quest.
>>
>>1435694
>>1435691
I Don't understand the obsession with these weird power trip games. I dunno, call me crazy, I've always liked set back, tight spots. and rough situations. The parts of RPs I've always most enjoyed make me go "Oh fuck." and only rarely ones that make me go "Fuck yeah!"

If you reverse those, the game gets dull.
>>
>>1435692
The only saving grace that clusterfuck of a quest has is that the Galaxy is literally one small step away from becoming a massive bonfire.

It has the Brotherhood of Darkness, the last Sith organization prior to the Banite Sith escaping from the valley of the Jedi, the Black Sun taking over the Underworld with some help from Damask and Palpatine and various other problems. But the biggest crisis faced was Admiral Trench being turned into a CREEEEEEED-like tactical genius by the Dice before being defeated thanks to the help provided by... You guessed it, the Mary Sue MC.
>>
>>1435700
It gets worse, the more the MC succeeds, the stronger and more broken he becomes. All that shit and he's only 11 as of the most current update of the quest.

Does it have a High Ground mechanic? Does that mechanic take spinning into account? Does it differentiate corkscrew spinning from flipping spinning?

Because a corkscrew allows you to keep the High Ground no matter your position relative to your opponents (see: Sidious vs Windu, Fisto, Kolar, and Tiin) where flipping doesn't change your position relative to your opponents, it may even make you lower (see: Kenobi vs Vader.)

>>
>>1436209
Well apparently he is the strongest lightsaber dueler in history, as well has being the first to master the dark side of the force.
>>
>>1436209
I'm sorry, 1930's blues sensation Lead Belly, but you appear to be vastly underestimating the man to whom we ALL owe our allegiance.

Allow me to elaborate on our mutual lord's virtues.

>One of the finest lightsaber duelists of all time.

No really. In the Clone Wars animated series, he took on Savage Oppress and Darth Maul (an absolute power team at the time) on simultaneously with two lightsabers, and toyed with them for the entire fight. Not once did he show any actual signs of being in danger.

He repeated this stunt, with a single lightsaber, in Episode III, where he took on four of the Jedi Order's finest swordsmen, and eliminated three of them in as many seconds. It's still very unclear whether or not he genuinely lost to Mace Windu (easily the strongest fighter of his time) or faked it in order to ruse Anakin.

He also defeated the Jedi Order's finest member in single combat. Seriously, Yoda got #shrekt so badly he retired to a swamp and hid there for the rest of his days.

And that's just the stuff he pulled in Canon. When we get to the EU, it gets fun. Here's the list:

>Defeated EU Luke Skywalker in lightsaber combat. This is Luke 10 years after he first picked up a lightsaber, he's a genuine badass at this stage.

>Defeated EU Luke in force combat. Not surprising, as Sheev is the master of force fightan, but Luke at this stage was on a fast track to becoming the most powerful EU character of all time. He still got #shrekt by Sheevy P.

>Used Force Drain on the population of an ENTIRE PLANET, with enough skill and subtlety to do so sustainably (without killing them), and without even alerting them to the fact.

>Was able to rip the very fabric of space a new arsehole, just so he could waltz through it and kidnap Luke Skywalker. He also used the same ability to make an entire fleet disappear. Like, BAM. And he could do this from a few sectors away.

>His very voice had hypnotic abilities. He could mind trick you WITHOUT waving his hand. That's Eragon Wordless Spells levels of bullshit.

>He could MAKE PEOPLE FORCE SENSITIVE. Seriously, this isn't a joke. He could reach into your midichlorians and make them do the dirty until you had mind powers. He did this many times for his servants.

>If that's not enough, he had the LITERAL POWER TO CREATE LIFE. You know where Anakin Skywalker came from? SHEEV USED THE FORCE AND BOOM ANAKIN. Holy shit. Your mind is blown now.

>DID I MENTION THAT WHEN HE DIED FOR THE LAST TIME IT TOOK THE COMBINED EFFORTS OF EVERY SINGLE JEDI WHO HAD EVER DIED, EVER TO KEEP HIM FROM COMING BACK?

We're talking literal unlimited power here.

Welcome back to Dark Empire.

Last we left our "Heroes": Darth Cythera and her crew aboard the Star Destroyer Blood Oath are seeking out Luke Skywalker and his Jedi, using bounty hunters to track down leads while the Shadow Mages search for the Jedi in the force.

Emperor Palpatine discovered through the force, and through Isard, his Director of Intelligence, that the Rebels were gearing up for a counter attack on Kuat from Commenor. Deciding to use this to his advantage, the Emperor opted to lay a trap for the Rebellion at Kuat, drawing in their fleet, trapping it, and destroying it. The Emperor himself will be present at the battle aboard his flagship, Tarkin.

Finally, newly promoted Commander Alana Tyrna returned to her task force and command aboard Splinter, reluctantly assigning her XO, Lieutenant Tierce, to command her new Lancer-Class frigate, Turmoil.

As always follow Twitter for updates and game times.

There is much to do in preparation for the coming fight. Splinter has had a nearly complete systems overhaul, necessary after your gunnery officer, Lieutenant Zepal "pulled all stops" on the guns at Coruscant and burned out countless power couplings. You've seen manifests that also report two of your aging Tie/LN squadrons have been replaced by brand new, Tie/Ad "Avengers", fresh off of the assembly lines at Byss.

The Splinter task force, now seven ships strong, is gathered in the Lolnar system along with the rest of Admiral Yazz's fleet, awaiting final orders to execute Operation Maelstrom. To that end, there are three major points of business to conduct. Meeting personally with your new XO, meeting the captains of your new Carracks, and inspecting the new additions to your fighter corps.

Lieutenant Ralitar, the young conscript from Xorth and your new XO, is likely still orienting himself during his move over from Turmoil to Splinter, so you opt to let him have more time. You likewise don't feel up to meeting new captains, so instead you decide to visiting Lieutenant Vells and see the new fighters first hand.

(1/2)
>>
"Aren't they beauties, commander?" Vells asks as the two of you walk the polished, shining, deck plates of Splinter's hangar, marveling at the parked Tie Avengers.

"They suit you, Vells," you reply.

"You're kriffing right, commander," he laughed, "Anything that keeps me alive longer than a blister gnat suits me, if you ask."

The Avengers were shielded, heavily armed, and had internal hyperdrives. Finally, a starfighter that could compete head on with the Rebellion's X-Wings. Of course, they came into production ten years too late to prevent the disaster at Endor and the Withdrawal.

"They really listened to your report, commander," Vells marveled, "Those old Ties are flying coffins."

"Don't expect them to disappear any time soon," you reply. "If there's one thing in abundance in this new Empire, it's inertia."

"That and low-quality recruits," Vells muses.

"You sound like you've been talking with Lieutenant Tierce," you reply.

"Hmm?" Vells is puzzled, "No, we just got our latest batch of pilot replacements and I've been tasked with training them. "but . . . By the Emperor, ma'am! Where are we dredging up these Moof-milkers to fly for us? I know Tie pilots don't have a reputation for brains, but these guys don't even have their fangs out." Vells sighs and waves his hand back toward the landed fighters, "I mean, we're scooping up every dirt farmer in the Core, even girls! What's next, Xenos?" Vells pauses and looks at you, realizing who he's talking to and pales. "Er, apologies commander."

"I'd have thought you'd learned what females were capable of in the Imperial navy," you reply coolly.

"Yes, ma'am I have. Please excuse my misspeak," Vells replies bashfully.

"This time," you reply with the hint of a smile, "Ensure it doesn't happen again. But I've heard the same complaints from Lieutenant Tierce. We simply don't have Academy graduates to throw into pilot positions."

>You'll have to do the best with what you have
>You don't give them enough credit
>I'll see what I can do to get some more quality pilots (Speak with Admiral Yazz)
>I'll try some unofficial channels (Speak with your Father)

With Vells and the fighters out of the way, you decide might as well get a feel for your new captains. They command small ships, really just for skirmishing duty, but nonetheless you feel it's important to get a feel for your subordinates.

The Carracks each carry four Tie/Lns on external racks, accounting for 1 squadron all told. Carrack's are fairly well armed for their size, they are fast and maneuverable. In packs, they can be quite deadly.

The three new Carracks are Obligation, Might of Eriadu, and Thrasher. Their captains assemble aboard Splinter for small, fairly informal meeting. These sort of things are really just used as a sort of "disclaimer" for the kind of commander they serve under, and a way for you to try to win them over by detailing your command style and accomplishments. When the three men arrive and settle down, you turn up the "Coreworlder" on them, pulling all stops and really letting your aristocratic credentials show. You've used this sort of tactic before, as a way of showing that you are, in fact, somebody worth paying attention to in this navy. You list your commands and battle honors, starting with Endor, that usually got people's attention.

All the while, you scope out the sort of people they are.

Obligation is captained by Dagross, a bombastic officer of the old school, perhaps a bit heavier than he had a right ot be in the military. He was attentive, but bored looking through your meeting. At first you thought it curious that such a traditional officer would mind the words of a female officer, until you realize from his own method of speaking, he likewise comes from an important family. Form his accent, you guess Coruscant. Likely a political appointee.

Might of Eriadu is captained by Skevins. Skevins looks fresh from the academy. His expression is dull, his answers are to your queries are rehearsed and predictable. Hailing from Empress Teta, he has "by the book" laser-engraved into his forehead. If somewhere in there it turns out he has an original thought, he may someday make a decent captian.

Thrasher is captained by Alouin, another obvious mark. Alouin is easy to label as a conscript. The most obvious difference is that conscripts seem to have an "are we there yet" attitude. They merely want to survive their service term and go home to whatever lackluster planet they hail from. Alouin's accent is hard to place, but it sounds to be from somewhere on the Rim perhaps. He must be one of the unfortunates, or the true converts, who stayed with the Empire even as their home world was left behind. He is reluctant to speak and is withdrawn during your meeting.

>Very good, now we should meet with our new XO

"You don’t give them enough credit," you reply "In a battle, even the most unlikely of people step up to the plate. You know that just as well as I do."

Vells snorts, "yeah, but my confidence in them won't do much to stop them from taking a proton torpedo up their exhaust port. Plus, I'd rather not have to hope the guy watching my six happens to be a 'diamond in the rough'."

"Then trying having some faith in yourself. You being alive this long isn't a fluke. I believe that you could make a good tie pilot out of a Jawa."

Vells nodded, "This is true."

"And in any case, they're all you're going to get. Do your best to whip them into shape and maybe we can use them to grab a world with better pilots. Corellia maybe?"

"I'd drink to that," Vells says, "When we get to Coronet City, I owe you one."

"And I'll take you up on it," you return.

Dagross chuckles approvingly, but both Skevins and Alouin look unnerved.

"We're aware of your reputation, commander," Dagross says, "Hell, it's the only reason I agreed to serve under you, if you pardon me saying so. I don't think you'll have any problems when it comes to combat," he looks to either of his companions, "at least where me and my people are concerned."

After a few more formalities, you conclude the meeting and thank the captains for their time. They seem capable enough, at any rate, they'll draw fire from your ship in a pinch. Now, to meet the XO.

You find Lieutenant Ralitar already on the bridge, surprisingly punctual for someone who seems quite reluctant to even be aboard your ship.

"Captain Tryna," he begins upon seeing you, "I wanted to apologize for any miscommunication we had previously. I didn't want to seem like I didn't want to follow your orders. To be honest, I'm just a little nervous about serving as your XO. I'm not sure I have what it takes, but I am willing to learn, ma'am."

"You'll earn trust on the battlefield," you reply confidently.

"Yeah," Ralitar smiles back at you, "I'm sure I will."

The next day or so is abuzz with activity as final preparations are undertaken. Each task seems to be "one last thing", but as you well know, you can never truly be prepared enough for combat.

"Orders coming in, ma'am," An ensign says as they approach, handing you a datapad. "From Admiral Yazz."

"Splinter Task Force is to make for Trellen at once and hold the system while the fleet proceeds to Corellian," you read aloud.

"We're just a flank guard?" Ralitar asks.

"Tierce won't be happy about that," you say absently. Your former XO was a Corellian native, and though he hadn't said anything, you suspected he had a vested interest in liberating his home. But, seeing as how in the navy you weren't given choices- "Prepared the task force to move out, recover the Ties and let's get ready to go," You instruct the ensign who handed you the pad.

"I'll pass the word, ma'am," Ralitar replies. "I want to stay busy."

You nod, "Very well. See to it."

The task force reorients itself to point, roughly, at the Trellen system. Jump coordinates are confirmed, double checked, and executed, sending the seven ships of your task force hurtling into the tangled web of hyperspace. The jump is a short one with a single stop to reorient and jump again. You ships emerging on the other side in orbit of Trellen some minutes later.

All of your ships but one.

"If this is a 'welcome back' prank," you say, your teeth clenched, "I am not laughing."

"No, ma'am," your sensor operator replies. "Thrasher is nowhere on our scopes." The ensign turns back to you with apologetic eyes, "They were with us at the rendezvous point, though!"

"Find that ship, ensign!" Ralitar orders.

"Sir!"

You feel a cold sweat. Ships did occasionally become lost in hyperspace. But such things were rare. Even more rare in the navy, which took stringent safeguards to ensure fleets arrived on target in one piece. Possibilities were beginning to tick off in your mind. Perhaps the navigator on Thrasher had grossly miscalculated, extreme negligence was unlikely, but possible. With conscripts watching conscripts, mistakes like that could slip through theoretically. Or perhaps the Rebels or some warlord had snagged it with an interdictor cruiser, barely missing the rest of your task force.

>Double back the whole Task Force to the rendezvous point

"Send Might of Eriadu- no, Skevins doesn't have enough imagination for this. Have Obligation follow our course back, if Thrasher is lost or in trouble, they'd be able to assist," You say.

"Yes, ma'am. But . . .shouldn't we inform the admiral?" Ralitar asks.

"Not this moment," you reply. Wait, the Avengers have hyperdrives, maybe you could send a flight of them? "Belay that, lieutenant. Send out a flight of Avengers, have them scour that hyperlane. We'll leave Obligation in reserve until they find anything."

Your crew acknowledge your frantically changing orders. You feel the pressure of a ticking clock and you're not sure why, it could be a simple technical problem. You'd lost ships in combat, but you shuddered to imagine what this conversation with Admiral Yazz would look like, having lost a brand new cruiser.

You watch Obligation begin to wheel about, preparing to execute their own jump even while three Tie/Ads are disgorged from your bay and streak to the rear. As you consider the worst, a dirty word begins to rise in the back of your mind. Mutiny.

"Uh . . . Commander Tyrna?" Your comms officer calls. "Something strange is happening onboard Turmoil, ma'am."

"Explain," you have no patience for vagueness, not now.

"They've tried to raise us on holocom twice now, ma'am and both times closed the channel before we could acknowledge." The comms officer fiddles with their board. "Now they aren't responding to our hails."

You can't help but look up out of the forward viewport at the Lancer Frigate, cruising serenely along beside you. "Tierce, what in the Eternal Core are you doing?" you mutter.

>Keep trying to raise them on coms, they may have technical problems

"Is there any change in Turmoil's status?" you ask sensors. "No ma'am," the sensor operator reports, "Near as we can tell they are running normally, no obvious malfunctions."

If machinery wasn't to blame, the human element was. You cast a backward glance at Lieutenant Ralitar. Studying him carefully. His expression is blank, his hands clasped behind his back. Tight. He casts you a quick look, your eyes meet, and he looks away just as quickly.

"Lieutenant Ralitar," you say, not daring to look back at your XO, "What is your assessment of the situation?"

"Ma'am?"

"You assessment, lieutenant."

"Well, whatever happened to Thrasher could have happened to Turmoil. Some kind of stellar radiation could have effected their computers."

"Stellar radiation you think?" you ask.

There is a long silence before Ralitar responds, "I'm really not sure ma'am."

You turn and walk past your dumbfounded XO to a nearby ensign, "Raise the onboard garrison, I want a detachment of Stormtroopers onboard a Lambda and on their way to Turmoil at once."

"Yes ma'am!"

Ralitar says nothing, watching you with dark eyes as you move across the bridge.

You make a point of not leaving your back to him, suddenly feeling very naked without your sidearm, though you've never had occasion to carry one on the bridge of your own ship.

Minutes tick by slowly. No word on Thrasher, and no response from Turmoil, though there is no apparent change on board.

You watch as a Lambda shuttle cruises out from underneath your bow, headed for the nearby Lancer-class.

"Turmoil, this is Sergeant WG-121. Your orders are to stand to and prepare to be boarded, confirm." you heard the gruff voice of a stormtrooper echo from your ships comm system.

No response from Turmoil as the Lambda draws ever closer.

"Turmoil, this is-"

A series of laser bolts streak out from Turmoil and shred the starboard side of the Lambda, punching quickly through the shuttle's shield.

Another gun joins in and the stricken shuttle detonates in a fireball.

There is a series of exclamations across the bridge. Turmoil begins pulling away from Splinter, slowly, given her class. Before you can order any change in course, her engines begin to throttle down and deactivate completely, leaving her dead in the water.

All eyes are on you.

Fucked up choices. Should be:

We can do both.

Don't arrest him yet. He came to our ship for a reason i don't think he's just a normal conscript. Besides we don't have our sidearm with us and i doubt anyone in the bridge has it too.

There is always a token storm trooper guard on teh bridge, 2-4 of them

In order:

>Arrest Ralitar

>>Fire on Turmoil with Ion cannons to disable her guns and prepare to launch a second boarding party

>Contact Admiral Ralitar
Say: "There appears to be a coordinated attempt at mutiny from multiple ships in my squadron. Please be aware we do not know if the mutineers are aligned with the rebel scum or have spread their influence to further sections of the larger battle group. I will advise if the situation changes."

Rather than sell them to slavery or kill them, I say we round them up for the Dark Side Adepts to play with.

>Write in: send for a detachment of stormtroopers to secure the bridge and send reinforcements to other critical areas of the ship (i.e. gunnery control, engineering, etc.)

We could get a favor because of it...

Mutiny from ships under your command it a textbook case of leadership incompetence. Let's see how far this conspiracy has spread and take our own steps to control the fallout before we start anticipating banking favors with darksiders.

>Arrest Ralitar
>Fire Ions on Turmoil
>Contact Yazz

All three were very popular with only Fire edging ahead by one vote. I will do them all.

Well we gotta disable it before it attempts to jump and get it recaptured.

"Trooper," you look to one of the nearby sentries, "Arrest and detain Lieutenant Ralitar at once."

The trooper cocks his head, "Ma'am?"

You flash your eyes, "Was any part of my order unclear?"

"N-no ma'am." The trooper draws his carbine and aims it at Ralitar, "Lieutenant."

Ralitar hardly reacts, he looks at the trooper and looks at you, "You were the first person to show me any respect in this navy, Tyrna. It's too bad you only judge my worth by my usefulness in war."

You don't reply, looking down your nose at the would-be mutineer. "Take this scum out of my sight," you instruct the trooper and turn back to the view port with a confident air. Internally, you were worried.

How much of the navy was conscripts at this point? Nearly the whole stormtrooper corps, Vell's Tie pilots. How many of Zepal's gunners? How many of the technicians who repaired the damage to this ship? Previously, a strong officer corps had kept them in line but . . . You had to wonder what the percentage was of volunteers to conscripts on board Thrasher and Turmoil. You had to imagine it was dangerously high.

"Have Lieutenant Zepal's Ion batteries knock out Turmoil at once."

"Yes, ma'am."

"And prepare three boarding parties. It seems we have to reclaim Turmoil."

Ralitar is led off the bridge, and azure bolts of energy lance out of Splinter's port side batteries, electrical arcs dancing across Turmoil as her power systems fail, shutting down weapons, shields, engines, life support. Everything. Hopefully it wasn't too late.

"Launch boarding teams once Turmoil is confirmed disabled." As you speak, you shuddered to imagine what would have happened had you been aboard that shuttle. This just solidified in your mind how inappropriate it was for a flag officer to "go down with the troops".

You watch three Lambda shuttles headed for the nearby Turmoil, approaching cautiously, and ultimately settling onto its hull while cutting torches get to work. Boarding a ship was messy, bloody business. You'd seen after action holovids about it. You hoped your troopers weren't too late to take control of the ship.

You turn away from the boarding action and approach your comms officer, "Send a message to Admiral Yazz, high priority. Message as follows: there appears to be a coordinated attempt at mutiny from multiple ships in my squadron. Please be aware we do not know if the mutineers are aligned with the rebel scum or have spread their influence to further sections of the larger battle group. I will advise if the situation changes. Message ends."

The comm officer types it out, wide eyed and nods along. "Yes ma'am, of course. I'll send it right away." As he types, you think you may detect a hint of an outer rim accent. You try not to think about how he came to join the navy.

Before long, reports start coming back, your boarding teams targeted at the bridge have taken heavy losses from mutineers on board who seemed to have seized control of the Combat Information Center. Teams dispatched to engineering report friendly forces under an enterprising ensign have secured the facility, and preventing the ship from escaping or jumping away by shutting down the hyperdrive and sublight engines.

The platoon that targeted the gunnery section reports they've successfully cleared out the firing controls with minor casualties, though it looks like the area was taken violently by the mutineers, there are numerous casualties.

Currently, the remainder of the ship must be carefully swept, but the mutineers are only known to control the bridge where they are barricaded in, and demanding to speak with you.

>A precise turbolaser strike to the bridge will finish them off

The man who appears on your video screen is a far cry from the normal conscripts you've seen. His eyes are alive, angry. He has blood on his tunic, and though he has the rank of "midshipman" he speaks with conviction and fury.

"Commander, our demands are simple. We're at an impasse, we've got your XO here, you've got Ralitar there. We don't even want this kriffing ship. Give us Ralitar, give us a Lambda and a clear path out of here, and you get your XO back. Otherwise, we know what the Imps do to deserters, and we have no intentions of surrendering ourselves, or letting you have this ship back, if you catch my drift."

We do not negotiate with traitors. Have our stormtroopers prepare to storm the bridge while we distract them over the holocom.

You do know this guys will most likely go to a rebellion gathering right? If we put the tracker we can find more rebels. And kill then.
>>
>>1438583
>We will kill them on the shuttle, There entire lot
I would count that under backstab. They aren't stupid, they'll make your fleet pull back etc, so it won't be that easy
>>
>>1438567
Agreed.

This really reinforces to me that we need a personal detachment of Stormtroopers, ones utterly loyal to us.

Deploying the tracer is a very sensitive task after all.
>>
>>1438583
That is the short vision approach anon let then take us to their rebel meetting place and kill all of then.
>>
>>1438587
Nah just put two trackers on the shuttle.
>>
>>1438587
Use our TIE Avengers to ambush them, have them jump in just as they're about to leave before disabling their engines and leaving them adrift.

Changing to agree and put trackers on the ship
>>
>>1438565
>>Take a gamble, agree to the deal, and try to back stab the mutineers

>>1438594
We don't even need to bother with trackers. Just sabotage the hyperdrive. Trackers only work if we can take our fleet to follow them where they jump, which could pull us out of formation and have severe consequences for the main battle group.
>>
>>1438620
I think they will meet with the other carrack that's why they aren't interested in the ship.
>>
>>1438620
>We don't even need to bother with trackers. Just sabotage the hyperdrive.

I'm sure that they'll check it. Trackers are a safer option. Let's not fuck around with our XO's life here.
>>
"Agreeing" and then trying to kill them counts as "taking a gamble" for the record, and I have been counting it as such.

Agree and Gamble are tied 4 to 4 with 1 vote for stalling
>>
>>1438627
what about putting trackers does it count as a gamble?
>>
>>1438631
No, since hypothetically if they DID find the trackers, they would just toss them off, not go apeshit and blow up turmoil/kill Tierce
>>
Just another minute or so for any tie breakers, then I'll have to roll to break the tie
>>
>>1438632
Well i would rather put two tracers in the shuttle.

If you let those mutineers get away, you'll be a laughing stock in the navy. No, you can't allow them to get off scott-free. You'll have to stop them. Somehow.

"Ma'am, return message from Admiral Yazz," an ensign says.

Your heart is frozen, your blood ice.

"He reports… 'the reliability issues with conscripts are known and not a localized issue. He advises you prosecute with extreme prejudice while trying to maintain fleet cohesion," here the ensign stops reading for a moment before finishing, his eyes, full of nervous fear meeting yours. "Until these issues have been resolved, all non-volunteers are to be treated as suspect."

You and the ensign star at each other for a moment. "Sithspawn," you swear.

And that wraps this session. Apologies for the cliffhanger, I promise it wasn't planned. but I have work tomorrow and things to do before then. I will be continuing this marathon game session tomorrow at 7 EST 11 UTC so you can see:

> 'the reliability issues with conscripts are known and not a localized issue.

Just how big do you guys think this mutiny is? Something this large cannot be the work of merely a handful of renegades, it reeks of systemic corruption and infiltration of our forces.

The big question is, who is behind this undermining of our conscripts? Is it the Rebellion, or perhaps the work of other forces like Thrawn...?
>>
>>1438689
>Cloning vats
I'm sure this is going to be a very common sentiment, so I'll just put this reminder again, since it came up very early on. As a heads up, cloning is not a magical silver bullet that fixes manpower issues. it has lots of benefits, but also serious, serious draw backs that people may not be aware of. But still it is a viable option.

>Thanks for the run QM.
My pleasure! I have a blast doing it, I'm just glad so many people like it
>>
>>1438692
It takes awhile to grow them up, It means they are able to have a gene-tailored Bio weapon used against them, They age at an accelerated rate and mostly respond to whoever gives the orders.

Am I missing anything? because we could really use them for officer or ship crews. I mean hell, Give them a vacuum sealed suit like Tie pilots have and we don't need to worry about Bio-weapons on them in ground or space.
>>
>>1438699
Cost is a big one, not only in the extensive trianing, housing, etc, but also of building cloning plants, guarding them. The plants themselves are vulnerable. When a conscript finishes his service, he goes back to work in the economy for 60+ years or so. When a Clone is "retired" they are basically a burdern on society till they die, thanks to rapid aging unless they are euthanized. PLUS it's a "power choke point" meaning theoretically, anyone who has high level access to a clone facility to grow their OWN army. Say, if Isard wanted to take over, she could sneakily tamper with the clones and get a huge loyal army.
>>
>>1438682

I like to think that once our Dark Side Commissar program is complete, that we won't have to worry quite so much about mutinies.

>>1438732
I'm personally against Cloning myself. I'd rather try harder to make our conscription program work before exploring new options.
>>
>>1438742
