Copy pasting from last thread

Action: Scout out for animals that can be either ridden or are useable for things such as wool.

Research: The bunnys worried that their prosperity as been uninterrupted for so long that something might stop it in the future. In turn the bunnys devised a idea. They learnt that a particularly flexable branch combined with grass twisted together and notched to each end can launch things. They tried attaching the pointy end of a Sharpened improved digger onto a handle and when launched it stuck into the dirt. They dub this invention, a bow.
>>

Copying from last thread

Research: better shelters/fortifications using the wood (to be implemented shortly, better to plan ahead of time)
Action: capture and begin domesticating the spiders we found to use their silk and other resources (potentially as battle mounts / hunting companions).

Other chickens had other ideas too.
>>
also adding we should probably prioritize streamlining our system of governance. the monarchal alpha hen is fine, but a supporting council (parliamentary monarchy?) would keep the people represented and prevent uprisings and morale intact. Maybe 3 elected members to advise the alpha hen?

Yeah I'm cool with these ideas

Research: song. frogs need to learn how to sing to better there diplomatic ability, intimidation and develop culture more advanced then femboys (however qt they may be)

Chickens learn to tame the spiders they find with their shared diet of insect, and bring a few to the animal pen they set up. The spiders can serve as a food source, silk source, or companion. They find that the female spiders are much bigger than the males and have venomous sacks, whereas the males have longer legs and no venom.

They continue clearing the forest, and develop improved construction of their shelters. Wood is stacked vertically and hammered with stakes, instead of being assembles in a tentpole fashion. These makeshift cabins greatly improve the coops.

Bunnies try and scout for animals, and also create the bow. They also had a burrow last turn used for storage, alleviating space for bunnies in their burrows, at least for now.

Frogs add to their jovial culture with Croak Music. Athletic competitions now include a singing event, where the winner is more revered than the other athletes as a result of their reverance towards frogs with female qualities.

Action: Implement previously researched fortifications to reinforce nests and other structures throughout the chicken settlement.
Research: Spider life cycles and morphology to integrate with selective breeding - aiming to selectively separate the spiders into bigger females and smaller males. Males can be integrated into nesting units as pets (and pest control, like cats), and females can be kept in the animal pen and groomed (more like canines) to hunt for sport and for defensive measures.
>>
>>1448503
Action: Its time the bunnys create a sport. The bunnys begin holding archery competitions to not only make our people better shots with them but for prestige for the winners of them.

Research: The bunnys make sheers in order to harvest the wool of the sheep. Now with this combined with our already great skill at making clothes we can advance from grass clothing into the better alternative now that we have this material.
>>
>>1448506
After this we should build more walls. Then maybe send a scout to observe the bunnies, they're the only ones we haven't met yet.
>>
>>1448550
seconded. I figured priority would be structures already existing before starting a new project with the wall. and the leadership stuff can come after we contact bunnies, morale is good for now so we're not at risk, but having that in place would strengthen unanimity when it comes to negotiation/diplomacy

Bunnies make a sport from archery. The excitement of the competition encourages many of the clan to learn and practice the skill. Bunnies also make shears to shear wool from their new sheep friends. They now has a supply of wool they can use to weave soft wool clothes, replacing their scratchy grass clothing.

Fast rate of growth forces new burrows to be built, but the overcrowded tunnels for when bunnies enter and exit start to annoy the bunnies.

Frogs must construct more houses for burgeoning population and new forest-frog members. Tensions build a little from the introduction of the long lost brothers, dampening moods a little.

Frogs begin the development of wooden boats, but need wood. Their efforts of obtaining wood are limited to scavenging and sawing into thin trees with their knives.

so chickens-

Action - Construct a wall around the perimeter of our settlement, starting from the east side?
Research - Education for young? Our population grows more slowly than the other species, but we can have higher quality offspring contributing with the right mindset

Unless there's something else we need more
>>
>>1448656
research: begin developing halberds. these are incredibly useful multi tasking tools. they are incredibly effective as pole arm and cleaving weapons, work well as axes and can be used as fishing spears
Action: now with our new halberds we can finally get some wood to make catamarans so we can make more houses!
>>
>>1448659
Sounds good. Then after that we can focus on that parliament system.
>>
>>1448656
Research:The bunnys need to constantly dig and move large amounts of dirt and stone has lead to a new idea. They have created baskets to be able move quantities of goods much easier this way the diggers wont need to toil as hard and will help in other aspects of bunny life.

Action: The bunnys have always needed to deal with overpopulation within their home. However a idea was sprouted that could fix it while spreading bunny civilization. They decided they are to send a select amount of bunnys east and start another bunny village on the rivers shore much like the original. Of course they'd have everything they need to recreate the first one with its farms and masterfully made tunnels. With luck the presence of a second village will increase the bunnys growth and material harvest rate while solving the space problem.

I am gonna be off a lot today , so this are my propositions:
-A watch tower
-A Sistem of boy scouts for the kids to developement the youngs and other stuff
-Diplomacy
>>
>>1448698
yeah I was planning on trying to get some sort of trade agreement with the chickens but the population issues come first. also I don't think watch towers are necessary sinse were in the middle of a lake. if they come after us were likely to easily spot them. also considering were developing mobile homes most of the frog population can get away quickly.

the boy scout idea sounds very good though

Bunnies move other bunnies down river east. This alleviates the population problem, and gives them more areas to harvest resources. The campsite currently has no crops, but over time plants will grow there as well.

Buckets are also made to carry resources easier, to the great joy of the diggers.

Chickens make a wall in the east, and start educating their chicks. Education includes understanding laws, farming, music, spider breeding, and early sex education, which encourages an increase in population growth. Since chickens have not developed any writing (yet), early students are forced to memorize all this knowledge, improving their memory as well as their critical thinking skills.

Follow up, we found the Frogs, right? Did we ever come to any sort of trade agreement or are we just benevolent neighbors who know of one another? Frogs, how would you feel about gaining some of our wood in exchange for some of your mud brick technology? Layering mud brick and wood is way sturdier than either alone, and allow your watchtower to be higher (and our wall to be more impressive, and potential roads to last longer).

Chickens, frogs, thoughts?
>>
>>1450448
We should be killing the frogs, not trading with them. Also, our logs are for building walls and important things. We shouldn't trade them for things we could make ourself.

Also, we should look into mining, quarries and rock gathering, shape some of the already existing axes to better go through stone and replace however many get converted
>>
>>1450448
Neat idea.

United we can beat the herbivore bunny scourge. Next turn?
>>
>>1450434
We should probably try to make wooden chariots driven by spiders, that way we can improve our transport abilities and not wait for spiders to get bigger. We don't even need charriots thinking about it sleds would be better for now since we don't have the wheel. They would be slow but faster than just going on foot until spiders are bigger.

They will also improve our combat abilities. We are falling behind the frogs and the bunnies

Bunnies improve their primitive bows as much as they can with their current resources. The bows last longer, and the grass-string is thicker, though not exactly flexible and not as easy to pull back.

Education is started for the youths. Lesson plans are written in stone tablets of the tunnel walls, and include the basics of digging, scouting, farming, crafting, and foraging until they come of age where they will be assigned a role more specific.

>>1453532
Research: Modify our hoes to better break stone
Action: Outfit some strong warriors with the most blunt axes and the armor, tell them to fight, but don't kill. Take notes of the armors short comings and modify if needed. (If that is too researchy, then lets start regular combat drills and sparring/wrestling regularly)
>>
>>1453780
We wouldn't want to stab our allies in the back. Look at how fast the rabbits populate, they're like vermin that need to be destroyed lest they destroy us!
>>
>>1453780
To clarify about the trade city statement, I'm suggesting that we move a armed force to the town, set up fortification, and communicate with the rabbits that the town is a neutral town under the protection Chicken Empire, and wait until the war is over before heading out.
If the rabbits win and destroy the frogs, we should build a artificial river from the natural lake closest to inside the forest leading to a artificial lake fairly deep inside the forest (to hide them from further extermination) and resettle the remaining frogs there. My reasoning behind this is not only to keep frog players in the game but also to get a client/puppet state for experimenting and cannonfodder in our armies.

OP, how long do you plan to run this game? And also, is exploring outside the island allowed? Maybe we are in a archipelago and there are other tribes around us?

>>1453910
True, but any war at this stage would be a total bloodbath, with large casualties on both sides, and you frogs have much better chance of not being torn apart, as you have non-stationary housing, the chickens, however have very little in the ways off defense, us joining a war you start for almost nothing is stupid... However, if you were to help us construct a strong wall and slide us some good tech/tools, we would be actually gaining something. On the other side of the coin, there are other ways to kill them, insinuating and arming a rebellion them or giving them a plague is always options you could look into.

Is it too late to join?

For the bunnies, over population, scarce resources, moral, research, digging and development speed and rising tensions of the other clans possibly attacking can all be solved with a small restructuring of the education system

Bunny's start with basic education of how the different sectors of the burrows work and basic survival and farming, they then proceed to spend a set amount of time in the different sectors, starting with digging tunnels and farming, as to have the largest initial workforce for development of agricultural land and tunnel networks between cities. They are now at peak fitness and move to foraging and scouting as to have a constant flow of resources into the burrows aswell as pruning weaker stupid bunnies, so only the smartest and strongest return for the next stages, continuing until the last stage of crafting, where they use their experiences and understanding of the entire burrow society to create the most useful and efficient tools. They can then move between sectors as they wish.

This will allow fast development with the initial large workforce, being kept in line by the more experienced, aswell as ensure only best reproduce, accelerating the evolution of the bunnies, aswell as keeping moral high as the system is viewed as a right of passage and sense of brotherhood , allows constant breeding and the older bunnies to be mentors. Allows freedom later and fast tech development and for the strongest to always be present in the burrows to defend if the other clans try something stupid. The council will also have the most experienced to replacement should they die, ensuring longevity of the burrow community

We should also build a trade tunnel between the bunny cities and to key locations around the island for fast safe travel

Actions: change education system to a progression system and build trade highway to connect the cities

I'd argue against this course of action personally. As it stands the three tribes populations are thus:
Frog - 152
Chicken - 114
Bunny - 308

Their growth rates per turn, relative to the size of their population are thus:
Frog - 0.046%
Chicken - 0.070%
Bunny - 0.103%

The primary strengths of the bunnies as of this time is their numbers (they outnumber either tribe at least two to one or in the case of a alliance, 15 bunnies to every 13 enemies), having the only ranged weapon and the fact that the burrows are easily defended. Along with the fact that no other tribe has actually found them yet thanks to lucky or unlucky dice depending on how you look at it.

Your method prioritises "quality" over quantity yet does it in an inefficient way by eliminating useful population. The current method ensures a well-educated and large population, whereas your results in a smaller more "spartan" style of education. This system is a major problem if we ever get into a war as it will be harder to replace losses.

It is more logical to continue our current methods of education and to just focus on making our burrows into a fortress if we want to resist attacks. It is more efficient to continue with the current method of establishing new towns with our population to deal with the overcrowding. It is more morale efficient to not have peoples children dying in some trials and instead have them sent off to found a new colony.

Also, the bunnies don't have scarce resources of any kind. They have had some of the best luck when it comes to resources in this game so far. With their sheep, crops, trees and such.

As to research it isn't aided by killing population. Especially by your methods. As a individual who might be great at math would fail in your system, a individual who would be a great doctor or engineer or writer would fail. Hell even a good blacksmith could fail in your system because they were a shit farmer or survivalist.

Digging speed is determined by our available workforce, tools, the size of the project and their skills / fitness. Is it more efficient to have twenty decent diggers or fifteen good ones?

However a network of trade tunnels or underground highways is a good idea and at the very least I can agree they would be a good use of resources.
>>
>>1453997
we have poison frogs
>>
>>1455164
Ok well that's fair I'd agree with you there, not so great upon closer inspection, that said simply due to the increase in individuals, I think it's easy to see that the bunnies should be able to advance faster & safer than the other 2, should they be properly managed simply due to more individuals.
Another idea as to how, how about the bunnies specialize afterwards into what they're best at, so we'd have all the best crafting bunnies together, best digging bunnies together etc in order to make the whole thing more efficient, then maybe add little sub group competition to encourage innovation within the experts

In addition to trade tunnels & undeground highways, imo it might be good to add offshoots to plenty of other places in order to employ ambush/surprise/vietcong/guerrilla tactics if battle ever comes
>>
Can I have my cat tribe, yet?
>>
Ok so what if we do this:
Research: frogs in the town need to keep themselfs wet so they start making clothes that can preseerve the water of they bodyes longer
Action: frogs focus on the pipe system
>>
>>1455262
That is a better use of our resources, division of labour is the most effective use of labour in almost all cases and will result in higher efficiency.

The primary goal of the bunnies should be the development of defensive weapons (shields and spears) and fortifications (towers rising out of burrows, gates and checkpoints in the tunnels). As their lands all ready contain everything they need to live quite comfortably.

This along with continued economic developments like road-tunnels between colonies and possibly some innovation regarding materials. As we are currently only using stone, even copper would provide a massive increase in utility, durability and re-usability (metal can be melted into new shapes).

One more thing, bunnies should make sure to invest heavily into medicine (to avoid disease becoming a problem), architecture (safer tunnels), food preservation / production (less population needed in the fields and more resilient to droughts and sieges) and tool-making (quicker tunnel digging).

Okay winter is coming. Time to prepare the bunnies for this time of death and cold.

Our burrows protect us from most of the cold, as ground temperatures very rarely drop once you get two or three meters below the surface. So our primary problems will be food and feed for the sheep.

Another potential problem will be that our people might get a bit stir crazy being stuck in the tunnels most of the time so this would be a good time to develop our culture: plays, music, art and so on. This will also be a great period for us to focus on producing as many tools and burrows as we can to support our growth after the winter months.
>>
>>1455745
Seeing winter is finally here the bunnys change their plans.

Research: The bunnys learn to make charcoal from their wood so they can have a better and longer lasting fuel source

Action: With the bunnys settling in for winter inside their burrows they decide to start making their tools in mass so everyone will be able to have one, this'll range for everything we have.
>>
>>1455786
>>1455772
this, the fire should be useful for underground living, looking forward to a bunny culture rising in the spring
>>
>>1455804
Fire is dangerous to use underground, as it consumes oxygen. It could be rendered safe by creating "pipes" connecting to the surface to draw oxygen in and dispose the carbon but we would need to be very careful about it.

Also, we are essentially dwarves. Shitty dwarves but dwarves.
>>
>>1455812
I wouldnt worry about it. Our rabbit burrows are built so air can ventilate and light could enter so I doubt we'll die from smoke inhalation.
>>
>>1455812
We could try having dedicated fire rooms around each colony with a massive chimneys, where all the cooking, metallurgy etc happens, & radiates its heat throughout the burrow, and can heat up stones while at it to act as victorian style radiators in other burrow parts while cold. Or have it all in the above ground buildings?
>>
>>1455816
Not smoke inhalation. Lack of oxygen.

If the fire burns and consumes all of the oxygen, then the burrows will die.

It can happen even on the surface in real life, like during the blitz on London, the Germans used fire bombs which were so effective at consuming the available oxygen, it actually acted like a tornado dragging in more and more air from the world around it at such a rate as to deny those around it oxygen.
>>
>>1455821
That would be safest.
>>
>>1455826
Sure then, we can address that problem by using the other rabbits idea next turn.
>>
>>1455829
Only problem is it's a dead giveaway to the other colonys, they'd finally know of bunny kind
>>
>>1455839
They'd still need to spend a turn to find us and even then might not succeed.

Also, we are currently building a massive castle style structure above our central burrows in the capital. So they will be able to see us anyway.

Chickens learn than burning wood while suffocating the flames could produce charcoal. It can be used to excavate deeper in the mines, potentially uncovering deep resources.

They also form a trade agreement with the frogs in the trading village. Once every couple of days, a wagon cart drawn by a spider takes wood and brings back bricks.

Winter has come. New mechanics are introduced
> Stockpile - amount of food stored to consume
> Scouting can increase your stockpile, but carries heavier risks (i.e. death)

> Frogs:
>(stockpile: 300) - Most frogs survive underwater and breathe through their porous skin, resting. They do not need to survive off of a stockpile as a result. Some frogs, however, are awake and can perform actions. You may select this number, but they will incur a stockpile penalty.
>(scouting penalty) - Due to their cold blooded nature, frogs face significant penalties while scouting (-20)

> Chickens:
> (stockpile: 3000) - every turn the stockpile will decrease by the population of the chickens. This also includes their livestock.
>(scouting penalty) - Chickens are warm blooded and have feathers, but still face some difficulties scouting. Their penalty is (-15)

> Bunnies:
> (stockpile: 7000) - every turn the stockpile will decrease by the population of the bunnies plus their livestock of three sheep.
> (scouting penalty) - Bunnies are by far the most well prepared for the winter. They have the lightest penalty of (-10)

Being winter, some frogs prepare campaigns for the chiefdom election tomorrow.

question - our population keeps growing, but what about deceased? or is the population growth already accounting for the dying of others?
>>
>>1456095
If stockpile means food I think the frogs have a larger advantage with the underwater netting system. They would never run out unless the ocean got blocked off.

Aside from that the scouting penalty makes sense despite that frogs roll shitty scouting rolls to begin with.
>>
>>1456157
Pop growth accounts for deceased. Pos growth means more are born than dead, neg growth vice versa
>>1456140
You have stockpile 300, if winter is thirty turns you can have ten frogs active all the way until winter ends and not need to worry about the hibernating ones.
>>
>>1456140
>>1456147
Why did you build a house when you had a fully fumctional tower a few feet away?

I agree with beds and pottery tho. That makes sense
>>
Okay, I just did some rudimentary math. To see how well the bunnies are prepared for winter.

To put it simply, our stockpile just about covers our expected growth for the winter months leaving 1600 units of stock for the rest of our population which they run through in just 4 days.
>>
>>1456208
We can send out a group to gather the last of the grass from the meadows before it dies to bolster our stores with hey, then research cooking to extend the life of our stores, and then later If push comes to shove we can go looking for underground mushrooms, and look for other food
>>
>>1456208
In fact I think I will show the math just to make sure I am making no mistakes.

There are 409 bunnies. These require food for 30 days. So:

409 times 30 = current population's food consumption = 12,270 units

Then we account for population growth, which is 12 on turn 1 and occurs over the 30 days. So:

12 times times 30 = population growth = 360 bunnies

Then we calculate their food consumption, which is half of the population growth (360 / 2 = 180) as for the first 15 days there are less than half and for the final 15, more than half. So:

360 times 0.5 times 30 = population growth food consumption = 5,400 units

Thus for the bunnies to just survive the winter they need 17670 units of stock. Which is more than double their current stockpile.

I have done some more precise math now, the day we run out of food is 13 assuming I didn't do the math wrong. I will run the numbers again just to be safe.

>>1456251
That is far too little. We need to more than double our stocks in 13 days.
>>
Do any of the chickens want to hear how doomed they are? I'll state it nice and clear, you run short of food too but by a far smaller margin.
>>
Like the rabbit said.

Research: cooking to make our food last longer
But also
Action:ration the food so nobody is starving but it lasts longer
>>
>>1456253
I'm thinking we can remedy this by using an action to start rationing our food and then using research to learn how to grow our mushrooms in our tunnels. It should buy us quite a bit of time. If worse comes to worse it won't be a big loss to send bunnys on scouting missions as when winters over we'll easily regain any lost.
>>
>>1456253
We could try the scouting parties I suggested ages ago to bring resources and thin the burrows of the weak...or try invading the other colonies while they struggle
Can't bunnies hibernate to consume less?
>>
>>1456274
That is not going to help trust me. I said you ran short by a smaller margin but when we need more than double our current stores that isn't saying much.

I will be honest, we are both going to suffer greatly in the next few turns unless we can find a winter food source or kill off a portion of our population.

>>1456281
I hope you are right, though I know you are wrong. I will double check my math to see how long we have but at best I can promise another day...or a day less as it may be.
>>
Is that cannibalism I hear?
>>
>>1456284
>We could try the scouting parties I suggested ages ago to bring resources and thin the burrows of the weak
We are not throwing away population but it may be needed.

>...or try invading the other colonies while they struggle
But we could attempt to invade others for food but we don't know of their existence. Though the same goes for them. However we are aware of the existence of non-sentient antelope we could try and hunt.

We might as well kill our buffalo for what little food they shall give and then...oh shit. I forgot to account for the live stock. We need another 5 (two buffalo and three sheep) times 30 units of food. 1500 additional stock.

>Can't bunnies hibernate to consume less?
In real life? Yes they can. In game? Unless OP says so, nope.

Depending on if OP calculates popgrowth and then food consumption or the other way round, our situation gets slightly better. Also if we do the first turn of winter with our current population and then growth kicks in...except that leads to us getting about 5 turns of winter's pop growth in 1 turn.
>>
>>1456306
I think surprise raids on the other colonies for their food stores might be more fruitful
Although developing cannibalism might be fun

...does dirt have any nutritional value?..
>>
>>1456306

>>

Chicken's current population: 141. So:

141 times 30 = 4230 units of stock

Projected growth: 4. So:

4 times 30 = 120

Projected growth food consumption:

120 times 0.5 times 30 = 1800

>>1456337
I entirely forgot about your spiders, One moment. You have 24 spiders, assuming they consume the same value of stock as a chicken, they will require:

24 times 30 = 720 units of stock

Thus you need 6750 units of stock. More than double your current supply. Would you like to know on what day you run out of food and your population starts dying a painful death?

>>1456339
That requires we keep them alive. Every turn they are alive they consume 1 stock. This means they are effectively a bunnies worth of resources and as of right now we have no use for them.

Also cheese takes a long time to make and isn't something we can just develop out of thin air.
>>
Kill the spiders except for one male and one female then weed out the 5 weakest members of the clan.

Kill 5 every two rounds until the food is stable and if the spiders have babies kill the babies and eat them.

Not dying this winter.
>>
Just pointing out rabbits take 4-5 days to starve to death, so we could try the old roman method of half the population eats and works 1 day, and plays games to distract themselves while not eating the next, rotating between the 2 effectively doubles our food store aswell as developing a competitive culture and high moral, plus everyone stays alive

Bunnies tinker with fire and with their knowledge start with warming their fireplaces, providing comfort to the homes at the capital city. The stockpile is initially rationed to the citizens of the capital and the livestock. Refugees from the hungrier colonies come over to beg for food. If not fed after three days, they will start dying at a rate of (-4 per day). The same goes for other tribes, but death rates differ.
>>
Okay, I may have gone overboard.
>>
>>1456370
Examining your population control efforts...Insufficient. Population growth rate still 1.5 per turn.

Suggestion: population needs to instantly be reduced to 98 chickens with 4 being killed every turn after and the two spiders to survive the winter without starvation. Assuming no increase in stockpile.

>>1456383
Examining suggestion. Extending simulation beyond food stocks by 6 days...population still dies before winters end on day 18-19. Assuming no increase in stockpile.
>>
Every day 30 chickens will go out to get food while the others don't do anything and just sleep all day to preserve energy. All but a male and a female spider are killed and turned into food, and if the male and female have babies wait til they hatch out of their egg sacks and then slaughter all but 2. One male and one female while still rationing.
>>
>>1456386
Following my calculations. You were in fact insufficient in your actions.

Sadly for you, more must die.

>>1456395
Op has stated population dies after 3 days of starvation. Correcting for this bunnies all die on day 15-16.
>>
>>1456401
Efforts still insufficient. As previously mentioned the stocks you have are less the 50% of what you need. Temporary starvation only helps in the case you fall 2-3 days short which you are far from doing.
>>
>>1456407
Yes but we are also collecting food every day so we might run into a jackpot and we eat spiders too. I dont know how much food each spider is though.
>>
>>1456421
Assuming your people continue to consume insects, you will run into the problem almost all of them either die off or hibernate.

Chances are spiders are not worth much for calories but they will be good for protein.
>>
The spiders are small dog sized or larger so they should be a decent caloric ratio
>>
>>1456431
That is only the female spiders, as you have been breeding the male ones to be smaller.
>>
>>1456385
Research: cooking to extend food and make it more nutritious
Action: the population now eats and works every other day, and plays games and relaxes on the starving days

This will half work speed, but atleast double food (not including cooking benefits) and keep everyone alive. Competitive games with friends and family should help keep moral high
Any dead should be fed to the animals to stop disease developing and further help the famine

Chickens gather as much leftovers as they can and add it to their current stockpile. They also discover the merits of stewmaking to help warm the bellies of chickens during the cold month. After three days, chickens will start dying at a rate of (-7 per day)
>>
>>1456437
That could work for now, next turn we can make mushroom farms in our tunnels to further extend our food supply.
>>
>>1456437
These efforts are insufficient and as previously discussed, the 2 day cycle does not help in the long run. Even if you eliminated all of the livestock and population growth you are still falling short of stocks by 5270 stock.

However consumption of the dead will slow this problem...but it will not be enough.
>>
What about our searching OP? And also can we have a few chickens in secret chop up the people and add it to the stew so the general populous doesn't know about it and morale won't drop?

Most frogs hibernate underwater. Ten choose to stay above water to protect the tribe and do other actions. The first act they do is try and create pots from their clay. The fire they use cooks up the bowls for carrying delicacies such as flies and dried fish.

The problem is that, without sufficient food, the population become weaker, both physically and to disease. Not to mention the fact that at the end of the day, you are running out of calories and nutrients. I can't state for certain if the bunnies would live off of one third of their required intake of calories for a significantly longer period of time. At best it might get you a day or two before they become too weak to do major work.

As to the other methods, they might work:

Mushrooms would take awhile to grow but would provide more food but admittedly at the cost of potentially causing harm to the population (fungal infections in the lungs and such). Cooking will make what food you have safer and more nutritious but in the end there is not enough. I've already discussed the cheese and how you would be better off just killing the buffalo. The harvesting of the meadow grass might provide a large boost in food but I can't state how much. Lastly, the consumption of the dead should relieve the food stocks slightly.

To all other tribes please ignore this next bit:
Look, your best bet is to either begin hunting the antelope you found earlier en mass for their meat or raiding the other tribes. The frogs are the weakest for now and it would be smart to take advantage of that but you would need to take a scouting action.
>>
>>1456491
On the entertainment day, we can develop a music and art to further keep moral up along with games to prevent rioting, singing, percussion maybe a few wooden wind instruments can easily be made, and chalk dug up can be used on clay pottery and the burrow walls. The tunnels can be full of beautiful burrow ballads

Ho, ho, ho, what a terrible dreary
night for the hungry, weak, and most weary!
Frogs in the pond, frozen and pondering,
Bunnies are starved, their scouts above wandering
Chickens in coops,
stockpiles reduced,
Fearing they might lose their spider friends too!

But look to the stars and brace your fair eyes
On OP's delicious and devious prize,
A gambit to some, a dare to many,
A roll from a dollar the meagerest penny,
The risks may be great, but rewards are much greater!
A blizzard's a fair bargain for a top favor!
'But anon' you ask, although this seems fun
Perchance the big rollers are greater than one?
The funner it gets when you roll in a team!
The simple grand total will be a clean mean!

I await your response and your furious glee!
Tremble in joy before the Wintermas Bunny! [/i]

Right, I'm going to be away for abit but I've got a few ideas I've been mulling over for you to implement if you get the time

Firstly obviously with a shorter winter and our luck finding extra rations, we should be able to dish out a little more to raise moral

More importantly next time we need to make a new village from over population, send them down the river to the ocean and start farming seaweed.
It grows YEAR ROUND, extremely nutritious, easy to harvest (collect when tide goes out, or use a grappling hook down from a boat to twist and pull it up from the ocean floor). Even inedible varieties make excellent fertiliser for other crop which should further boost food. We can send them down the river to the other bunny towns, and receive metal and wood and other supplies back with boats or carts while we wait for the trade tunnels to finish.

Required research: seaweed biology, boats and for our metallurgy to finish

Reasons for the bunnies to do this, they discover that wood floats, wander down the river in the unexplored direction come spring after being cooped inside all winter, since they're still hungry from the famine and are looking for sustainable food they try the strange vegetation they discover by the sea. This should mean there's never suffer from winter famine again.

So ye, coastal village needs to be added to the to do list
>>
>>1467825
So just randomly roll without posting turn?
>>
>>1467876
ALSO we can get sea salt to further preserve food and for cooking, we can import sand from the coast for glass for green houses to grow stuff in the winter , insulating fire pits / making the fire rooms safer incase of a poor dice roll, it can be mixed with ground minerals (gypsum not sure what else) to make cement, it can be used as an abrasive to improve crafting quality (shiny jewellery , high accuracy shape for spy glasses, no edges on metal handles etc), and is 1 of the best places for our root vegetables to grow with a little seaweed fertiliser, increasing yield (in addition to green houses, we should put these above the area of our fire rooms where the ground is warm and frost free to further make our crops grow longer into the winter and Bloom earlier in spring).

All in all a coastal town has HUGE benefits to food and tech, we can even trade any fish we accidently scoop up to the frogs, or just feed them to our animals, reducing their strain on our food stores. Seriously do this and the elements shouldn't really be a worry again, just things like raids and blight. (set up good trading so we're invaluable and won't be invaded and having a variety of crops across different towns should make blight less impactful)
>>

Idk, chicken's seem more dead than frogs, although the whole feminizing frogs and religion thing makes them seem abit shit, that said, good will bunny post

You live near the coast too, a coastal town would probably do you even better because of the fish and would stop you from becoming dependant on bunny fish in the winter, so there'd be no problem waging war in future. Plus the coast is warmer and you can swim so you can access underwater stuff ( maybe make glass underwater structures?) . Also you can use fish/ paste for hunting, and can eat the large amount of sea insects that float about washed up dead stuff and crops

Enjoy that bit of gooey bunny goodness on your moist feminine skin
