You are Jacob Marshal, a man who recently drove his sister into the redzone of a blacklight outbreak, became a lovecraftian horror, and are to busy to summarize this because your too busy fighting what looks like a satanic porcupine!

1d20+3 to continue your mauling.

+1 if you can give a good (or horrible) one liner.
+2 if you can think about how pissed Nina would be that your fighting another monster.

I'm also terrible at one liners, but in exchange I think I've finally come up with an interesting Prototype range option. It's always bothered me that there isn't one in game. I'm thinking of drawing it up, so give me a while and I'll see if I can't give the thread a sketch.

Your tendrils talons rip into the beast throat as the third burst through top of the skull, the satanic porcupine has been quelled, and your feeder tendrils set to work eating away at it, leaving behind a largely empty husk.

Your dominant arm begins to change, your combat tendrils seem to meld together and talons turn to a ring of jagged spikes of whatever your made up at the end of what appears to be a flesh-like tube Your upper forearm appears to be breathing if that makes sense, and at your elbow you see quills, much like the ones you had been dodging and watching the beast you were fighting shoot everywhere.

Now a small group of infected have shown up, about four of them, seems your fight with porcupine from hell drew their attention.

>lets test this arm out.
>I’m too busy for this.
>fuck the new arm, back to the tendrils for more melee!

Tendril arm becomes a pseudo-shotgun: If they get past the quills just whip it out at them to knock them back.

Also, just a guess, but the hiss of a hydraulic accompanied by a...squishing sound? Some sort of fleshy sound, instead of a metallic one.

I am a terrible artist, but here's a rough sketch of what I was thinking.

I maybe will do a more artistic and less bare-bones version later.

The idea with this is that it's pretty easily scaleable. Could take up just the forearm, or could be a bigger thing that takes up the whole arm. Maybe hangs off kinda like the blade arm?

Would be more of a single-shot thing than a rapid fire weapon. Think non-repeating crossbow. But hey, if the spike's big enough you could give it a payload!

Also I probably drew it a little too short and fat.

paintball enters chamber. pulling trigger releases HPA or CO2. CO2/HPA push the ball out of the barrel at high velocity.
>>

lookit that. Its shake n bake and I halped!
>General upgrade
After the experience with the hunter, I feel like we need some endurance. Barring that, we could use some strength.
>>
>>1467157
Oh, I know that much. I was just thinking you could get a hell of a lot more omph from it if you could really seal the barrel, which would be hard to do with a solid spike. Also you'd want more surface area for the air to "push" on, which would then necessiate a rounder, flatter base on the spike, which isn't so good from an aerodynamics standpoint.

I'm an engineer and I get the feeling I've way overthought this.

And you’d be damned if you didn’t consume that technician in the closet. There’s a loud squealing coming from the generator that really shouldn’t and fortunately you know how to fix it. After a quick shutdown you unscrew the covering, to your surprise, there was an infected rodent in there. no reason to let that run around.

+25 hp.

A quick clearing out of the nest and a resealing of the entrance it made, you plant the covering back on, swap out the year old fuses and give a sigh of relief. Your fucking done here.

>>
>>1469019
you have a needler gun, which shoots quills you generate from your own biomass. on reload you'd lose 10 hp. has the average damage profile of a semiauto AR-15.

your Tendrils are burrowing and you have three on each hand currently, they're mid range melee. you can also use them to pull something or someone to you, or pull yourself to someone or and object/platform. like a grappling hook.

weapons.

AR-15 full auto.

"Hey Jacob, was wondering where they sent ya."

"neighboring building, had me playing handyman."

"daaw, and it looks like it wore you out."

well, considering all that happened. it really did. you get out your bag and pull out the med box, telling her to make sure these get distributed to the people who need them.

"and now a little present for you."

"oh god. your not going to cover my back in burning Jello are you, I mean, I can see the appeal in a little revenge, but it's years too late and using my exact words."

"no way, and where the hell am I going to find Jello and the clean water I can spare to burn?"

you sigh and present her your glock, and it's magazines.

". . . y. . you can't be serious, your nine? you'd never let anyone lay a finger on it. your joking!"

"nope, she's yours now."

you actually forgot how strong she can be, she hugs you so tightly that your back actually cracks from her grip.

"Nina, down girl!"

"you can fix it, get over it."

well at least she's back to her old self.

You pull the pin, holding the nade tightly and with a quick flick of the wrist, chuck it right into the foot of the guard. The case is flipped onto it's side before becoming a fireball, one big enough you have to dive behind a shelf to not be cooked in. with this done, now the group at the hospital can go searching for gasoline safely. Once the ringing in your ears finally leaves you, you now find the guarding Blackwatch troopers sweeping the base, and looking for anyone suspicious. they haven't noticed you yet.

you shoot one of your tendrils into the wall behind the turret and sling yourself into it, then kick off and sink a claw into it's operator. as you start consuming him you take the turret and put a spray of lead towards every enemy unit you can. many of the Blackwatch troopers here are pinned behind their cover and a lot more are going to be in bags. finally the sappers show up with their rocket launchers.

Jacob: "well, watching the people here get blown to smithereens when syphoning cars and walking into the gas station today was something I was worried about."

Nina: "oh no, you mean that's what they were going to do?"

If we tell Winston about the warehouse, he's going to ask questions about how we took care of a building full of heavily-armed lunatics.

That's what I'm saying. We disappear for a little, come back, and then go to Winston and tell him the guys are all dead, the warehouse is full of guns, and there's no infected around ("they must have moved on, or something"). Winston gets his guns, and we don't fall under any suspicion. If he asks why we were there, we just tell him we were scoping it out because we were worried. Hopefully Madison hasn't mentioned to him that we were gone last night.
>>
you decide that your going to head out for a walk.

"and it's time again for Hyde's mid day announcements. First off, we have fuel to collect, in two hourse were going to be cleaning out the gas tanks of abandoned cars and trucks. and in five hours we're taking it straight from the station. The Pres Elect has stated that he is willing to deploy firebombs if this outbreak leaves Florida, as has Barry the ape fucker. looks like there's one thing everyone in DC can agree on, the only thing we're good for is a vacation spot and target practice. Finally overwatch spotted a big commotion coming from the direction of that warehouse. it was either a mutiny or a bad case of I have no fucking idea. point is no patrols have been seen since last night."

Anon, the survivors won't like it if the gas station, and it's supply of gas, is destroyed, and Madison has a lot more loyalty towards the survivors than she does you. remember they want the gas but there is a nest under there, so by extension she wants the gas.

weapon upgrades start by mild improvements to your biological weapons and what they can do, they can branch out to improvements like tendrils being able to do the ground spikes we all know an love.

Sensory upgrades allow one to improve the senses of the character, with upgrades at the highest level being shit like making eyeballs anywhere on your body at will, or sensing someone specifics presence by smell alone.

physical upgrades can be things like HP, your mobility and other physical traits. max improvements can be things like no longer being wounded by small arms, but that is a very (very) long ways away. (and may even be taken out of the game.)

How would that even work? Unless he knows everything about us, then he may assume that but he doesn't. He may suspect something, but as far was we know, he knows nothing. it was an interesting experience, for some reason one of the players displayed both ineptitude in his ability to understand what the situation is in the story, was unable to identify subtle hints I had tried to give along the quest, and after being informed of a trap option, seemed to want to push further into a path of action, or should I say dialog, that would get the character killed. such a brazen lack of survival instinct such as this is absolutely uncanny, it is my hope that I will be able to study this strange phenomenon further. that is, if the quest will allow it.

That's the strategy. Run like hell, and chuck everything you can at him. The soldiers are for healing. He's actually pretty easy if you do that. You head into the room and there's Madison just like before, laying in bed with an oxygen tank to her face. there doesn't seem to be any signs that Blackwatch was about to experiment with her. although, she has been handcuffed to the bed like a prisoner.

>see if you can take her out of here? you don't trust these Blackwatch goons.
>maybe you should try to find Winston. there must be a reason they're keeping her here like this.
>just leave, seems they're not going to harm her.

She's probably on death's door

Exiting the Intensive care unit you just can't help but be a little irritated at what your going to do next. you sprint towards Winstons office, and down the hall you can see them, about four Blackwatch troops armed with rifles, with underbarrels.

>You might be fast enough, rip through them!
>gun and or needler. you see them, they don't see you just yet.
>maybe you can get upstairs and drop down on top of them.

Lets just take our claws out and let them rip
>>

These guys probably won't take too well to having a big spike stuck through them.
>>
do I have to cause I don't wanna.
>>
>>1488086
Alright lets ambush them with needles
>>
As you continue to charge your arm shifts into your needler. you can't help but notice how grotesque this thing is before you aim it.

1d20+2 to fire and hit.
+1 if you can compare this shit to a movie or something.
+2 if you can try to puzzle out why they would be keeping Winston's granddaughter here and waste the time and resources. it is pretty outside of the Blackwatch MO.
>>
Rolled 20 + 2 (1d20 + 2)

>>1488152
This kind of reminds me of in saving private Ryan when they ambushed the troop carriers in that field. My theory is that Winston made a deal so his granddaughter could be safe and be saved
>>
Rolled 17 + 2 (1d20 + 2)

>>1488152
It's like a John Woo Film. Except with less doves. And more Lovecraftian horror. So maybe not so much like John Woo then.

I think Madison is infected. Winston seemed to think she might be when he was interrogating us. Y'know, before we got kneecapped.
>>
>>1488173
this is the closest so far, except Blackwatch doesn't normally make deals with anyone.

also crit success, 100 HP gain.

*BRAP!* The first of the soldiers standing guard is nailed into the wall. Then the second, the third tries to fire his underbarrel which turns out to be a large shotgun, which ends up being avoided by running up the wall and ceiling. You fire into his skull at almost point blank range, turning your arm towards the last soldier to you side and firing three braps. the hallway is finished, now it's just those in the office.

>break the door down and charge right in.
>go through the ceiling.
>Maybe you can disguise yourself as one of these soldiers, after consuming him of course.
>write in.
>>
>>1488246
>>go through the ceiling.
They will probably will think door
>>
>>1488246
>go through the ceiling.

Because people usually don't expect this kind of thing.
>>
It takes you a literal minute to tear a hole out of the ceiling. not much really is going to stop you. one your on the top floor you take a breath before chuckling and slamming your tendrils widely into the floor beneath you.

"Contact!" Contact!" "Con-"

you push four of your tendrils into the chest of the closest trooper as the top floor falls upon the stunned soldiers, you with it. as you land you push off and swipe your claws into the next hostile, Severing his arms, the other six have begun aiming their weapons.

1d20+2 to dodge.

+1 if you can give a triumphant mocking one-liner.
+2 if you can come up with a way to ruin the good aim of six people.

Rolled 12 + 2 (1d20 + 2)

I would say that if we grab hold of a soldier and start swinging him around, they'll duck
>>
Rolled 17 + 2 (1d20 + 2)

How much of the broken floor can we kick up? There ought to be some dust and stuff swirling anyway from our dynamic entry.
>>
24

your arms quickly shift back into tendrils as you sweep the room with the body of the disarmed trooper.

"Well boys, maybe you should have listened to Chicken Little! Ha Ha Ha!"

the boot connects to the head of one Blackwatch who didn't duck in time, and your back on the offensive. Huh, doesn't look like Winston is in, there is however a Commander.

1d20+3 to slaughter these swine.

you coward.

you begin with a tendril whipping of two of the Blackwatch before clawing your way throught the first one, and tossing his remains into the soldier behind you while charging at the second. giving a passing slice to the throat while leaping at the man you knocked down with both claws, right into his chest. just then two bullets go past your head.

1d20 to dodge again.
+1 if you can mock their aim.
+2 if you can descried how you'll counter attack.

"You couldn't hit one of your oversized buddies in a hallway!"

I agree on the needler counterattack
>>
10+2+3=15 success.

Your arm shifts into it's needler configuration as you roll behind Winston's desk.

"You couldn't hit one of your oversized buddies in the hallway."

You take a minute to open fire before having to duck again. About four quills are left on your elbow and there's three of them.

1d20+3 to finish them off.
+3 if you can give a good way to take down all three.
>>
Rolled 13 + 3 (1d20 + 3)

16 minor success.

you pull up the table with one of your tendrils, spreading them out to give you better leverage. then you slam it into the first soldier while you fire off a needle at the third. Finally the Commander charges at you with a knife, wait, is that blade glowing?

1d20-2 to dodge. (this is a miniboss battle.)

+1 if you can say something to start a bit of banter.

You manage to duck and roll behind him.

Remember the basics of CQC
>>
you level your needler at him. and begin shooting.

"Come on over baby and I'll show you what these tendrils can REALLY do!"

he seems pissed.

1d20+2 to unload upon.

+1 if you can preemptively keep pushing that button.

You pull out your sawn off and point it at his chest.
>>
As the Commander goes flying into the wall he drops his knife, which clatters around on the floor. You've never thought you'd see somebody survive taking it from both barrels, but he's somehow still breathing and gripping his chest.

"Commander."

". . what. .'cough'. . infected. . faggot. ."

"you lost."

". . "

"and now i'm going to eat you."

"god. . help . . me"

"NOPE!"

A claw is then thrust into his chest as your tendrils begin to absorb him. And you start to see the world through his eyes.

"Come now good doctor, you'll start preforming your examinations again won't you?"

"Forget it! You can not bribe me to go back to working for you."

that voice. Winston.

"Oh I disagree. see, we aren't going to bribe you, we're more in line with threats right now."

"what are you. . no please, no."

"Charlie six. have you found her?"

"~oh, the number has been found, quite a nasty shape too. think she'll mind if I have a little fun?~"

"No! Get the hell away from her! you disgust-oof!"

"Ah ah ah, no back talk. now maybe I will call C six off, if you start complying."

". . . fine, I'll come peacefully."

"C six?"

"~yeeeaah boss.~"

"cuff it and leave it. you're on escort duty."

"~ah fine, fuck you though.~"
