The Raiders – Part 18

Player's Choice:
Akko gains one Mythic Tier.
or
Akko gains one level of Magus.
Chosen: GM's thematic choice

Three things have become extremely obvious to you.

The first is the secret of the Silver Swords. It perhaps should have been obvious right from the beginning, but in all honesty you are looking at things from a perspective far beyond the norm. You suspect there aren't even spellcasters who have this level of awareness, and fewer still magi and knights who have invested their time and efforts in the studies you pursue so avidly. It's the blood of course. Not merely githyanki – or githzerai – blood, nor merely dragon's blood. It's the reaction of the mingled blood, specifically that of the githyanki and the dragons they collude with. Githyanki blood is highly reactive all on its own, but when mingled with the incandescent, volatile blood of a solar dragon it fuels a self-sustaining electrochemical reaction. When combined with the delicate alloys of silver, mithril, void-glass, and then infused with quartz crystals, the silver and mithril contain and channel the energetic power of the mingled blood through the psychically active void-glass and the infusion of quartz to create an artificial life-force that can affect the Astral Fundament - and assault the silver cord, normally immaterial to most anything save the deadliest of mental forces.

Githzerai, lacking the compact of dragons, have to make do with an equally volatile, but less predictable resource: the substances of the cerulean void of Limbo itself. An anarch could undoubtedly use their control over the substances of the plane to create something as volatile and potent as dragon's blood, but the more potent materials used to make True Silver Swords would probably react in more violent, destructive ways in that plane. Hence why they cannot make the True silver Swords. You have sincere doubts about dragon's blood being stable for very long in Limbo, and anything as powerful as a dragon would be utterly unpredictable and untrustworthy there.

A True Silver Sword would undoubtedly use deep crystal and bloodstone rather than void-glass and quartz, making it that much more deadly and most likely self aware on a higher level than even most intelligent weapons and tools....similar to Siobhan. Most likely she merely lacks the bloodstone or the deep crystal. That can be fixed.
>>
The second thing is magic. Oh, you've always been aware of magic on a more fundamental level than most of your ilk, reveling in the sensations and effects as much as the learning and use of it. The arcane forces that you infuse into your aura, that you store within it and use to augment both combat and spellcasting have so much more potential. Someone starts to speak - you haven't any idea who and at the moment you don't really care - and you hide your eyes from them with your hand, making the 'tsk' noise to order silence. The action doesn't just silence them; it prompts silent conversation and that is what you are interested in. You can feel the impact of their minds on the fields of magic that permeate everything, everywhere around you. Not the words or symbols they create, nor the tones or feelings they send, but the active effort or will that begins the telepathic conversation. You close your eyes, extending your senses further, feeling for more of that power.

Seeking, you find: Yzia's supernatural power that allows her to take on other forms indefinitely now, the first of the gifts you have given her. Yashi's glamorous voice, mystically enhanced by careful spell-work and given permanence by the gifted spell-wright. Auena's psychic defenses, applied and unused but still in effect. Your sense of magic doesn't extend any further....but you can feel your own magical force with far more intensity. The sense of your own magic is now as much a tool as the magic itself can be; the subtle ebb and flow becoming ways to find weaknesses in the ebb and flow of other's auras, a way to direct weapons and spells through the defenses they have. At first it was only while the spells of shapeshifting and self-transformation were actively upon you. Now even without the spells to transform your body your sense of the magical forces that permeate everything around you can be used to guide blade and spells, in addition to claw and tail.

Even more intimate is the awareness of your internalized magics. Not only the arcane force you collect, somewhat depleted from your spellcrafting earlier, but also the spells you have memorized, their delicate threads easily unraveled. Siobhan's mind touches yours, shows you the truth: what can be unwoven, can also be strengthened and made immovable. Such effort destroys the spell, but the momentary existence....

Opening your eyes you dismantle one of your least spells, and throw the energy around you with outstretched hands. A shimmering globe of silver light surrounds you and those in the room start at the incandescent, iridescent display of energies, potent for only an instant, but long enough to be a defense when you have little else. While your torc grants you a stronger defense of the same sort of energies, in an emergency you could do much better using more potent spells. The thought of what could happen if you used the power of the Elder githyanki with this knowledge is exciting indeed.
>>
The third thing you realize is that you are a monster.

Even without the Elder Power, you have become something almost alien to your people. You were on the edge before, but now you have passed that edge, become something more than mere githyanki. Not githzerai; Dead Gods' Names, no! But no longer merely what you were. It becomes painfully obvious how Vlaakith makes her choice of when to remove a githyanki from their stronghold. What she may do with them remains a mystery, but the simple truth is that at some point every githyanki surpasses the rest of their race in understanding and awareness of the codes they live by. When they do so, their mind becomes separated, less coherent in terms of the pervasive effort that drives githyanki. The reason the race abides, does what they – and you – do, is to destroy the enemy. Yet when one reaches a certain maturity of thought, an awareness of the futility of the current system, then one becomes a threat to that system whether one wants to or not. An aberration, a monster among the unsuspecting and unaware.

The easiest solution is to make such a person a Supreme Leader, and entrench them even more firmly in the system. It makes perfect sense now; the dragon who holds the compact would have realized you were growing quickly towards that point when Yzia revealed her newfound power and suggested you take that route. And it isn't a bad idea, to be sure. It just isn't what you want right now. Your powers are new, your intellect expanded, your mind growing and your skills and abilities as yet untested. Siobhan has much more to teach you, and Yzia is now even more yours (and to be honest you hers, though she would never put it any other way) than ever before. You have made oaths and have promises to fulfill. There are gifts to be made and given, and spells to be written - so many new ideas, new tricks and methods of using the power you have!

A monster you may be, but you are still a Follower of the Ways of Gith. You are githyanki, and not even Vlaakith should be allowed to take that from you.

You're also the object of a lot of attention at the moment, and you should probably do something about that. The colloquy is over, that much is clear....but you need to settle some things. You need to thank Kteine for her quick thinking, certainly. She definitely saved you from some very unpleasant scars and probably a distinct lack of tongue. That would have been so many kinds of tragic. Anyways....

[] Dismiss all your cadre and have them meet at Dunzamn's conclave.
[] Retain Yzia and Tzanzi, though reassure both Yashi and Kteine before they leave.
[] The rest have assured their loyalty....have Auena remain, along with Jiyua
[] Falna and Schechei are now a massive liability compared to what they were before - have your cadre capture them.
[] Write in?
Siobhan believes that if you do not deal with Falna first, you will give her too much time to prepare for an inevitable battle.

Sorry, hadn't considered you starting early and so I negllected to check twitter.

That is a really good explanation for how Silver and True Silver Swords came to be, and it explains why Yzia and Akko letting their blood mingle provoked such a spectacular response.

I imagine that Akko could have also found out through studying history, like if Gyr created the SIlver Swords shortly after the alliance with Solar Dragons, but learning from experience is much more entertaining.
>>
>>1516067
Getting Siobhan's input seems neat, but I think I'll need a while to get used to it, like I'm trying to balance Akko being absurdly intelligent and Siobhan sharing that intellect gives her a tap to that, and Siobhan also seeming to revel in bloodshed and conflict.
>>
Is there any SUMMARY of the quest so far, or only a list of previous threads?

Also, you've posted the wrong pastebin link, with /edit/ part in it. Just saying, it can be still accessed manually, using the final part of the link, so:

Like I'm not sure if that's Siobhan's aggression, or if Akko's recently boosted understanding gives her greater insight into Falna to recognize that "I think I was wrong earlier, there is virtually no chance of her being able to get along with me and not making a much more substantial effort to either kill or expose me, so I need her dealt with now."

>[] Dismiss all your cadre and have them meet at Dunzamn's conclave.

I guess we could do this, but I'm not sure how fast we're leaving or if Yzia and Tzanzi have any preparations to make instead.

And I don't know, I guess we should probably do something with Falna, but capturing her right after letting her go just doesn't feel right to me.

Do we have time to track her down and talk to her ourselves?
>>
>>1516135
Well, the most condensed summary I can give is Akko is from a race of psychic fantasy space pirates and is getting ready to raid some kingdoms and has until now gathered her crew, had some really good sex (sometimes with a dragon), had to beat some people up, and kept accidentally ascending to higher echelons of power even though that's kind of a taboo. And right now it's finally almost time for the raid, we just maybe have a couple loose ends to deal with.
>>
>>1516063
Wait, so the reason Vlaakith has a different scale for spellcasters and gish and pure combat classes is that what they're looking out for isn't power (or isn't just power) but instead a certain level of Intelligence or Wisdom to recognize the current system is broken?
>>
>>1516166
>but instead a certain level of Intelligence or Wisdom to recognize the current system is broken?
I think her criteria is the threat-level of the individual in question, which itself is the sum of the individuals personal power (ability to fuck with the current system) and insight (reason to fuck with the current system).

And those grow disproportionally for spellcasters compared to pure martials.
>>
>>1516067
>[] Falna and Schechei are now a massive liability compared to what they were before - have your cadre capture them.
I agree with Siobahn
>>
>>1516135
Thank you, that is somewhat strange.

I am in the process of creating a synopsis, and will add that link to the others.

The essential synopsis is that Akko, a powerful and learned member of an ancient race of psychics and warriors, is gatherign people, power, and wealth in preparation for a slave-and-resource collecting raid on one (or both) kingdoms in the material plane. Her kind escaped slavery under a race of brain eating mind-controllers, and those who led the rebellion retreated into the astral plane, where they plot the utter destruction of their hated enemies and those that betrayed their revolutionary leader. Akko is a companiuon to a dragon, one of many who have an alliance with their people, and she has gained access to powers that she has never before heard of her people possessing, save those who first lead the rebellion agaisnt their brain-eatign overlords.
>>
[X] Retain Yzia and Tzanzi, though reassure both Yashi and Kteine before they leave.

You open your eyes and consider the lovely creatures and beautiful people you call comrades. Falna may yet be one of them; the ball is in her court, and while Siobhan's council is true, you are well aware she is a thing of powerful desires, and most of those involve bloodshed and love in unequal measure. She hasn't started speaking to you, not yet, but if her intellect expands much further or her power increases much more then that will most likely change.

Yzia is breathing heavily, her eyes wide and shocked, one hand resting on her lovely bosom and the other clutching at her thigh. There is definitely a crisis there, and it seems as much mental as physical. Still, she doesn't seem to be in danger at the moment; as she pointed out, she only looks mortal. You take a deep, calming and entirely unnecessary breath, and then move forward a little, catching Kteine's hands and pulling her close.

She lets you, and her cheeks color faintly at the look in your eyes, upon your face. You kiss her, softly and slowly upon the delicate lips of hers, your spurs brushing the soft skin on either side of your mouths together. When you break the kiss, you smile and run your hand through her slightly wild hair. “You have my thanks, Kteine. Your quick thinking saved me a great deal of pain and trouble, to say nothing of my tongue and lips.”

She inclines her head and then looks up at you. “I am yours to command; I hope that I will serve all your cadre that well, my mother-in-name.” You hiss soft laughter and she smiles, slipping away from you to her discarded weapon.

Yashi. You begin to understand what sort of creature you have thrown your lot in with. I trust that you have not yet changed that very clever mind of yours just yet? Your silent communication does not prevent you from giving your orders. “All of you. Go to your cells. Prepare for an extended raid, one that may last many, many turnings, most likely several thousand.” A thousand turnings is the equivalent of half a season....several thousand would be a year or more.

If you return things will need to be settled for them, best to warn them of an extended raid. “Presume Falna and Schechei will be at the conclave. Falna has a long memory for grudges held against her, so be wary.” You run your hand down the soft material of Kteine's blouse and she relaxes ever so slightly.
>>
Despite your wild ways and strangeness, Akko, I hold to my oaths, and will hold you to yours. I would still have the sword I desire from your hands, and travel with you will be far greater a thing to be entertained by than remaining here. Her complex thoughts and the images that accompany them are both fearful and awed, but they are spices and delectable sweetness to the experience starved mind of the ancient illusionist.

Then I will consider myself lucky to have you at my command, and under my command. Her pleasure at the rather conflicting militant and lustful thoughts you project is genuine at the very least. “Prepare well, and you should take into consideration the length of our raid. We may not be returning for some time. We will meat at the conclave in fifteen turnings; from there we will move straight to Dunzamn's material Stronghold; if you need assistance in collecting properties and equipment, or in resolving final situations, inform me before then.”

Most of them respond with the more traditional, 'we obey, leader', but there is one person who is left in limbo by your succinct orders. “Tzanzi, stay, if you would. Yzia....is in no condition to go anywhere. I may need help. Auena....” You conduct a quick silent dialog with the psychic gish, and her answer is affirmative.

[] Have her wipe the last few moments worth of memories from the skulker's mind.
[] Invite Jiyua to join your Cadre. You and Yzia will work out a flight plan of some sort.

mind control is a taboo. Memory alteration could be a taboo, but there are uses for it that go beyond mind control. Being able to control enemy intel is critical when the enemy can read minds. What someone doesn't know they cannot reveal.

So now that Akko understands the core ingredients of Silver Swords, and is already very talented at crafting things, are we technically ready to fulfill our agreement with Yashi (only needing time, resources, and maybe practice), or is making her something that is equal a Silver Sword and yet not a Silver Sword still a bit of a puzzler?

Siobhan considers trading Jiyua for Falna and Schechei to be a good trade; Jiyua could bring new tools to your cadre, while Falna cannot be trusted.
[X] Have Auena take Jiyua into her custody for now; it will serve as a test of sorts for both.

While the thought of wiping parts of Jiyua's memories is distasteful on a personal level, on a pragmatic level it would serve to protect you and your cadre from interested parties that Jiyua might inform. And while she could be potentially useful to your cadre, she could also be a liability in an offensive raid such as the one Dunzamn is planning.

“....take Jiyua into your custody. I will determine what she may do for us later. For now, she is your responsibility.” Less publicly, you give her another set of orders. If you deem her a threat to our cadre – and with what she knows she can be – you may execute her or wipe as much of her memories as you dare. You have my authority in both situations, and she still owes me a great deal of were-gild as well. you consider a few seconds more and add, If she shows promise and some strength of will better than she showed me, you may inform her she is under consideration for part of our cadre. That may also serve to bring her under control if she starts becoming intractable.

“I obey, Leader,” Auena announces, bowing her head slightly and saluting you with her hand before her face, thumb and little finger spread away from the other closed fingers. The relief on Jiyua's face is obvious even to you, and you're not even the most perceptive about such matters.

At least, you thought you weren't. You study Jiyua more carefully, picking out mannerisms, slight visual cues. Auena as well receives scrutiny, and Siobhan giggles softly in your mind, melodious and sweet, and mostly teasing. She's right of course; you're not the judge of body language and tells that you perhaps should be....and yet you can see Jiyua's trepidation at your commands, as well as relief it will be Auena carrying them out. She's very afraid of Tzanzi, and doesn't trust Yashi. Auena, on the other hand, is all business and thorough consideration. She is a much easier read, perhaps because you've known her a little while, and fought her. Her practicality and understanding of things is something you're already aware of, and she is going to give Jiyua a chance to prove her worth to stay alive.

And if she fails Auena, she won't live out the time before the conclave.
>>
As Siobhan allows the others to leave, dissolving the rather more flimsy barrier she put up for privacy's sake, you move over to where you discarded your torc and the bracelets and anklets that serve as your first line of defense. This also brings you closer to the shaken Yzia, who watches you with wide, still-shocked eyes. Tzanzi approaches slowly, and when she sees your concern, deliberately moves past Yzia to the cushions of your reading area. As Tzanzi arranges your bedding and places you books away, you cautiously approach your draconic companion, replacing the decorative – and protective – jewelry.

[] Apply the Greater Infernal Healing to your companion. It might not help, but it can't hurt.
[] Gently reach for your companion, hands and mind alike; guide her back to stability if you can.
[] Use True Sight; perhaps you will learn more than you could otherwise, since she is not wearing her mask.
[] She seems aware enough; ask her what she is feeling, what she is doing.

Yzia seems to be in some kind of shock. Above and beyond the shock of you suddenly biting her, anyways; she hasn't lost control of her form-changing ability though, which is very good. With several gestures you inform the mind-blind Tzanzi that you're going to try and coax Yzia out of her state of turmoil. She acknowledges, and suggests that you do so very carefully. You don't respond but internally you agree; and panicking dragon would be unfortunate for everyone involved.

Slowly you close the remaining distance between yourself and Yzia; she blinks and looks at you, her hand covering her heart as you move closer. You don't smile, keeping your expression carefully neutral. The golden skinned aasimar-shaped dragon reaches for your hand, a good sign. She lets you interlace your fingers with hers, and you slowly pull her to you.

Yzia follows your lead, and you slowly take her to the cushions that Tzanzi has laid out. The murderer has moved away to collect Siobhan; you're not terribly worried about another incident like the last as long as Siobhan doesn't try to possess Tzanzi. “Can you understand my words, Yzia?” The aasimar-shaped dragon blinks and gives you an odd look, though she is still pale and her eyes are wide and still shocked looking. Her pupils are still cross-shaped, and dark. Another good sign; glowing would have meant higher emotions, like anger, fear, or desire.

“I can understand you, Akko. Are you okay?” Her voice is a bit distant, distracted. You guide her down to the cushions and have her sit, and she does so. You places your other hand over her wrist, not holding, only letting your fingers rest there. Her pulse is thready, instead of powerful and steady. “I....am not feeling well, I think.”

You nod slowly, and gently touch her mind with yours, simple emotive content, with more impressions than words. You were struck very hard by the power we shared. I am going to study you, and see if it is that which is causing you trouble. Her relief is palpable to your mind, and her response is a mere nod

True Sight is one of your most potent spells, and sadly you have to burn more of your arcane force to use it. Less than you did before, as you previously implanted it into your mind with that arcane force; now you are simply reactivating the spell in your mind, so you may cast it once more. The results are....confusing.
>>
That you can see Yzia's true form as a dragon is expected. That her auras contains the fragmented rainbow shards in a diamond-silver spray within her aura you also expected, though it is much stronger than last time. What is unusual is the coloration of her personal auras, the normally blue and greens of her tendency towards chaos and impulsive action have toned into a deeper, more subtle violet and green, her impulses and desires tempered....or perhaps focused rather than being driven by vagaries and whims. Raising a hand you cup your lover-companion's cheek, and the green rushes away to be replaced by deep crimsons and vibrant whites....the colors of loves and....and compassion.

You're not entirely sure what to make of that just yet, but you suspect that Yzia is indeed head over heals in love with you, as Vermithrax feared. You tilt your head, and study her aura more intently, the glimmering flames of it partly disturbed by your touch, but even more so by the Elder Power. Her eyes close and she sighs softly, her heart slowing, her breathing becoming more even. You glance at Tzanzi, ignoring (as perhaps only you could) the black, ruined thing that serves her as an aura, and she approaches slowly, laying her hands along Yzia's back, which soothes the dragon even further.

The three of you – and Siobhan, whom now lays at your side, placed there by Tzanzi – remain so, caressing, soothing the dragon that wears a humanoid form, stroking her skin, petting her hair, reminding her of your presence, your affection for her.

And to be honest, your love for her. Tzanzi may not love her as you love her, or even as you love Tzanzi, but you do love them in your strange, cautious way. You're a fool for it, but she is a dragon at least, and not very likely to die on you.

[] Admit it to her silently, and reassure her that what you did was true and honest.
[] Keep the secret to yourself for the moment, make sure she is well first.
[] Admit your feelings aloud for her and Tzanzi to hear, and Siobhan to witness.
[] Accept the truth, and tell Tzanzi and Yzia that you do love them, and they would be your mates if you weren't such a fearful fool about it (ignoring the fact that you can't actually be mated to either of them).
[] Write in?
Siobhan is singing for and reassuring Yzia, and applying what little psychic skill she has into that soothing effort.

I had a little speech prepared for this general situation but I'm not sure if it's applicable right now, or if it ever was to start with
>Without the instinctive urges of mating I'm afraid I'm not sure it's in my nature to die for you, so I'm left with no choice but to live for you and with you. At the same time I must continue to be the Akko you hold so dearly in your heart.
>I will do everything in my considerable power to do both those things, no matter how much they increasingly seem to conflict with each other, until either you tire of me, or until even this absurd timeless expanse comes to an end. That is the best I can do to match all you've given me.

I feel like it's not completely out of character, but it's possible I've miscalculated where Akko falls in terms of selflessness/selfishness, also not sure if it'd really work if Tzanzi can hear it or if Yzia is ready to receive such a declaration
>>

But yeah I don't know, I kind of like the idea of this being one area in which Akko is especially cautious, but at the same time, I do like Tzanzi and like that Akko likes Tzanzi, and I don't want to alienate her, even though rationally that seems very difficult to do by accident.

[XX] Admit it to her silently, and reassure her that what you did was true and honest.
[X] Admit your feelings aloud for her and Tzanzi to hear, and Siobhan to witness.
[X] Write in? The difficult part of being what and who I am is that I do not wish to change that....

You lean forward and close your eyes, your hand still laced with Yzia's, your other hand rising to grasp the back of Yzia's neck as you place your forehead against the dragon's.

Falna was as correct as she could be, Yzia. We are mated you and I, as near as we can be despite what we are. I will not die for you, perhaps, but I will live for you, and I cannot imagine you would do anything less. My mark was made upon you in the fullness of my passion and with all the intent and power I could draw upon. There was no play, no humor in that. I meant what I said, and I meant what I did. Opening your eyes you stare at the space between you, her aura and the draconic image of her true form filling your sight.

Even now you cannot help but notice the Rune of the Inscrutable One works upon you; you see nothing of your own aura, only that of Yzia.

I dedicate myself to your joys, as alien as they may be, and to remaining as you found me at first. I believe I will continue to surprise you and shock you as time passes, and perhaps we may become a legend to be spoken of in deep, stranger futures. But if so, it will be together, of that I am certain there is no doubt. Aloud, you speak the truth that you were loathe to admit as well. “My mark upon you means exactly what it is, Yzia. As Tzanzi me, so I you. You are mine, Yzia. None may gainsay that.”

Tzanzi smiles, her eyes glittering with secrets and knowledge. You know she desires you, you know that there is, in your case alone, respect and a form of love, if you can call someone who has had their brain ripped open and partly eaten capable of it. She does care for Yzia, but it is a distant thing, a care born of your care. Yet...there is Siobhan to consider. Tzanzi allows Siobhan to possess her, make love to you in her body, use her body to adore and worship you, and for you to give Siobhan what she desires as well. The thought of allowing another mind to use yours is abhorrent. Yet Tzanzi does so, encourages it from your Silver Sword.

With Tzanzi, your feelings are dark and tangled in ways that have very little to do with love and much to do with perverse desires on both your parts. And she accepts – no, encourages that. So perhaps your declaration to Yzia means nothing more to her than anything else you do that is not directly involved with her.

It would be strange, but it feels true.

Yzia's slips her hand from yours and holds your cheeks, her thumbs caressing your upper spurs through the soft flesh of your cheeks. Her voice is steady and strong, and her eyes glow softly now, the fires in them no longer banked. The flow of her aura steadies, becomes deep reds, dark blues, and strange, vicious green. The aura of deep love, thoughtful and considered ways, and still influenced by her vast, greedy impulses. “I understand,” she murmurs, but the words in your mind are far more telling.

You are mine, Akatmosoko, now and for as long as I may keep you.

Really, it is more than you could ask from a dragon.

The next words are spoken quite loudly, and Tzanzi grins, her spurs hidden still. “This is not for public discourse, and betrayal of that will end in a very abrupt, bloody manner.”

The quartet of slaves murmur quick and eager assents, the images you provide for the them – including Cyrillian, her native telepathy making her receptive to the images you provide – being not only graphic, but gruesome. Even Rana is very visibly cowed by the brutality and starkness of the images, in spite of her life among the powerful and cruel efreet.

You sit up, and gesture to the slaves. Your trio approaches immediately, kneeling near you in a semi-circle. “Each of you is to go to their demesne, and to pack all the materials I will take on a raid. Dispose of everything else in small amounts, slowly, until it is all gone, save that which is used for wealth on my terms.”

Cyrillian speaks, the first time she has done so since her 'operation'. “Everything, mistress?” Her eyes are bright and intelligent, and her voice is rather pretty.

“Aside from, that which I use in my research, my spells, and my craft, yes. Even the spaces themselves save my Retreat. The three of you will move all materials and matériels there, and await my return, or the return of my cadre.” They each bow – even Yustuoc, still shaken and bloodied, and you sent them off, Siobhan murmuring giddily in your mind. “You have three thousand turnings.”

You turn and looks at Tzanzi and Yzia, both of whom look at you, Tzanzi knowingly and boldly, Yzia with a strange respect and a touch of amusement. Then you look at Rana Najla.

[] Claim Rana for your own, as you threatened to do so.
[] Lay a blood price upon Rana; she owes you dearly for her temerity and insult.

Siobhan thinks that keeping Rana would be good for both the cadre as an additional spellcaster, and for Yzia to hold hostage. Pretty and playful toys are rare.

[XX] Ask Yzia what she intends for Rana next; perhaps she is planning something already.
[X] Claim Rana for your own, as you threatened to do so.
[X] Write in? What will the Wishcrafter think of this, I wonder.

“Yzia,” you ask quietly, almost absently, “what did you plan to do with your pretty toy?”

Yzia leans back, and Tzanzi – taller than her by a head – wraps her arms about the not-currently-dragon's sides and places them against her belly, the reflection of your affection for Yzia in action. “As I explained, she is merely on loan to me, while her father visits. When he leaves, so shall she....” She shrugs mildly and Tzanzi chuckles, an evil, low sound that makes Rana shiver delicately. “Come to Akko, Rana,” Yzia orders lightly, and the lovely ruby-skinned creature rises to her feet and slides through the Astral fundament to you.

She alights before you, kneeling, and then submitting herself before you, kneeling and then prostrating her torso and arms towards you. You slide your fingers through that shadowy, shifting hair, black silk that eats the light. “Please, Gish Akko, forgive my trespass, and release me from your onus. I promise you any wealth you might desire, and any one wish I may grant you, in return for this favor.”

A wicked grin spreads across your lips, baring the tips of your spurs. Yzia, how quickly can you craft a collar for me to place about her neck?

Immediately, my treasure, if that is what you want.... she replies curiously.

“I accept.” Yzia stares at you, even as she gathers a handful of coin and gems and starts playing with them. Tzanzi looks rather nonplussed, while Rana's head comes up, her face a rather darling picture of surprise.

“You....”

“Accept. The wealth that I wish for,” you begin, lofting up your hand, and looking down at the still prostrated slave, “is the wealth of pleasure and joy your presence will bring me and mine, as my slave.” Her expression twists, and you can see she's already searching for a loophole, a way out of the promises she's offered you. Yzia gives the collar she has made, a lovely braid of silver and gold, with several thorn-like gems extending from the braid with no other setting than said braid. “I wish for you to wear my collar, forsaking all others, until such time as I declare you free or offer you to another.”

Her expression clears, and she smiles. “Ah, that is a wish I cannot grant as I-”

Siobhan is in your hand in an instant and you spill the words from your lips, more than speak them, Siobhan slicing through the air to come to rest at the beautiful ifrit's throat, along the black iron collar she wears. The loud spell culminates in a crack of sound and the Shattering of the collar she was wearing into delicate fragments of bright-edged shards of dark iron. Her breaths are quick and frightened, and she stares at you with those patchwork topaz-and-gold eyes of hers.
>>
“Will now wear my collar, as you wear no other,” you finish for her, and her lips work, her eyes darting manically to and fro as though searching for an answer. Carefully, you shift Siobhan, encouraging the beautiful slave to rise and move towards you. Obediently she moves up and closer, less with muscle and more with mental power. “I am not some naïve conjurer, some hapless magician, ignorant of how your kind treats the wishes of idle spellcasters, Rana Najla. You are mine as I said you would be, and I will use you and your power as I see fit.”

Rana takes the collar very carefully, and twists it open, like you would your torc. She places it about her neck, which you move the softly singing blade for, only to move it back when she has places the collar about her neck. Placing Siobhan at the join that Rana has twisted together slightly, you give Siobhan a touch of your Arcane force, influencing and changing...until she bursts into flame.

The lovely slave-girl does not flinch; the fires are barely hot enough to notice over her fearful excitement. The gold twist that you touch Siobhan to quickly beads up, and becomes a golden droplet sealing her collar closed. “The deed is done; you are mine. I am not a cruel taskmistress – hush, you! – but I am a demanding one.” Yzia's giggles threaten to upend the menace you've been working so hard to maintain. “Are you ready to enjoy an adventure into the material worlds and the joys that may be had upon it?”

Rana, still shaken by the spell and the shock of her capture and re-enslavement, shakes her head. Honest, at least!

“Nevertheless,” you comment mildly, rising to your feet effortlessly.

You lean forward and slip your fingers under her collar, lifting her bodily towards you. Despite the fact that you have accepted a localized gravity, but you lift her effortlessly despite that, surprising her. Scenting her her sex-tainted breath, you smile and whisper softly to her. “I look forward to exploring your many, many talents in great detail and with much pleasure, my pretty little slave.” With that you deliver a slow, deep kiss, exploring the piercings in her tongue with abandon.

She kisses back, as eager and delightful as she was before she was yours; you suspect that she may not have tried too terribly hard to escape your clutches. Your other hand slips to other lips, and you play with the piercing that decorates her there, making her squirm. Breaking the kiss, you look her in the eyes. Not to mention having your legs wrapped about my head again, you luscious creature, you whisper in her mind, the delight of her play something that gravity might be a hindrance to, you suspect. You give her those images as you slip a finger inside her, and she moans beautifully as you slide it back out, to taste her upon your skin.

“Keep my dragon and my murderer busy, you. I expect you to be thoroughly exhausted by the time I return.” You casually drop the shivering mess of an ifrit into your companion's lap, and she gazes after you, half dismayed, half excited by your threats and suggestive caresses.

Yzia takes her wrists in hand and gives them over to Tzanzi to hold, smiling and once more in full control of all her faculties. “This promises to be one of the most enjoyable raids yet,” she claims, as Tzanzi spreads the young ifrit's arms wide, binding her in place as Yzia preses against her, clutching Rana's soft breasts as she licks her way down from the wishcrafter's neck.

[X] Write ins? Slaver list, with just a touch of Marauder style.

You prepare mostly slave-taking spells, but just to satisfy Siobhan's curiosity (and not a little of your own), you add a couple of your most destructive spells into your layers or prepared sp[ells. You also leave several gaps in those layers, in order to give yourself much needed versatility in dealing with any unusual threats that might crop up.

Then you read.

Practice.

Discipline.

Control.

By the time you are done, your mind is expanded, your body stronger, and more flexible, and your will honed even sharper. The tomes and manuals are worthless now.

Then, of course comes the intensive work on your bracers and the ankle cuffs, enhancing their magics and adding magics to them By the time you are done you have given the ankle cuffs the ability to Teleport you and your companions in addition to granting you some flight, while the bracers are as potent as you can make them – though only slightly less so than Siobhan's protections. Your armor will eclipse them both, of course, but you enjoy having the potential to throw your armor onto another if the need is great.

It costs you, however in terms of wealth; you will not recover that amount of material for months, perhaps. The cost is worthwhile, you hope.

Then you research and study, and practice other arts. And by the time you are done with those....you have achieved something you were both terrified and hopeful that you could manage. It takes you well over a sidereal year and a half to complete these tasks, but here, for what may be one of the last opportunities, you can do so without interruption or the passage of time elsewhere.

Siobhan is changed, when you are done; the blood crystal with which you replaced the quartz, the dragons blood you feed her mingled with your own unimaginably potent blood, with the power of the Elder Githyanki to guide you, you transform Siobhan from a Silver Sword into a True Silver Sword. She is so far changed that she barely counts as a physical weapon, her substance just as much raw magical power as it is metal and crystal. You have a pretty set of lies about how she was changed, of course; you don't think the Master Smiths would appreciate you being able to do this.

Especially since you manage the next best thing to a Silver Sword for Yashi.

The slender void-glass bastard sword is designed for her lighter frame, and like Siobhan once did, she possesses a spark of intellect, an emotional core that can after a fashion feel. Rather than connect to the other Silver Swords, she connects to Siobhan and yourself, a tenuous and delicate link that lets you feel her emotional content when she desires you to, and can be used by her to send distinct messages if requested by Yashi. You have not named her; you will leave that privilege to her new wielder.
>>
Despite the time and effort, the lonely work was well worth the pain. Siobhan comforted you, and you learned several interesting ways to entertain yourself with the new magics you have learned; the Scripted Hallucination that Siobhan can enhance with the Power of the Elders was....extremely....helpful in reliving many tensions on both your parts.

When you return, Tzanzi and Yzia are bathing a trembling and clearly exhausted Rana Najla, who doesn't even try to acknowledge your return. Tzanzi looks up first, and the way her eyes widen and that stoic seeming of her collapses into awe is gratifying. Yzia looks at Tzanzi curiously when she stops, kneeling with the damp cloth forgotten in hand, and then to you....her eyes widen and she rises to her knees, staring at you.

You can imagine what they see – a sleek, even more tightly toned and muscled githyanki half dressed in armor and jewels, hair longer and eyes no longer crimson but a soft, hot red color, ears longer than before. The fact that you had to spend most of that year and a half actually in the life-processing state to use the magics that you reforged Siobhan and crafted Yashi's blade with means your body burned real food and gained actual muscle mass rather than suffering the withering depredations of the Astral. With Yashi's blade at your side, you smile and hold up Siobhan sideways and flat towards your companions, her gleaming black blade shimmering with opalescent sparks of sapphire, ruby, emerald, and topaz from within the blade.

Greetings Beloved Tzanzi, most Treasured Yzia; I live and speak as do you now, and by the Thousand Names of the Dead Gods, we will show them what it means to be Githyanki across all the worlds and throughout all the planes!

>To Be Continued....
>>
>>1516614
Oh my, well, that's quite the progress...Githyanki sure have it nice when it comes to time, would be nice to get even some free hours to do work in
Thanks for running
>>
>>1516608
>>1516614
Tnaks for running! It's too bad our roll for Yashi's sword was the lowest, but I imagine she'll be happy with it regardless.
Also holy shit, demiplanes are ridiculous. But wait, why did Akko seem to visibly age in terms of eyes and ears in just a year and a half, I thought Githyanki "naturally" have a fairly respectable lifespan?
>>
Thank you for readign and playing, and your patience for the last, and i hope most interestign post.

Akko will take care of some of the niceties (dropping off the other Silver Sword, spending money and favors to recoup her wealth) and most standard preparations without votes so we may move on to the pre-raid conclave, and from there into the first raid. Falna must still be dealt with, and with her Schechei, but by and large, it will be preparation for the raid (and maybe a certain amount of lust between Yzia and Akko and possibly Yashi and Akko).

The main thing to consider....who will Akko attack?

[] Elven Stronghold.
>The elven stronghold will have many mages and spellcasters, archers, and most likely summoned creatures or nature spirits of varied sorts to defend their homelands. Their younglings are well defended and difficult to get to....but elves will give almost anything to have their youth returned unharmed. Their resources are mostly magical treasures and building materials of wood, as well as cloth and unusual living materials.
[] Human Kingdom.
>They will have many soldiers, and will have siege weapons which can pose a threat to the dragons, but less spell casters. they will undoubtedly hire many mercenaries and wondering heroes to their cause after the first attacks, and they are harder to negotiate with. Their resources will be foodstuffs, seed, livestock, and slaves, many slaves.
>>
>>1516634
Magic, especially magic that is not meant for mortal use, takes a kind of toll on the body. she did not age so much as become more githyanki.
>>
As a side note, Akko's character sheet has been updated with the spell list and attribute adjustments.
>>
>>1516641
Oh neat. Wait, with that and her insistence on remaining Githyanki as seen in >>1516063, is she running the chance of becoming a Paragon of some kind, or is that not a thing in this setting/a completely different process?
>>
>>1516650

He's an Elder Wyrm in a race of dragons that normally spend their time in a realm where time doesn't really effect things. I think not.

You will have the opportunity to trade for other slaves and change locations for assault during the raid. Not necessarily voluntarily. Yes, but bear in mind, it takes 1 day per 1000 gp value to do so. There is a reason Akko took a year and a half to upgrade Siobhan and craft Yashi's weapon. It took her nearly a month and a half just for her anklets and bracelets.
>>

They age through other means, as Azia hinted to Akko during one of their conversations. It apparently has to do with manipulating their natures and bodies as well as what they consume.

Azia is an adult solar dragon and Akko can take her easily. An ancient one would be a fight. An Elder Wyrm would be a death sentence.

Were you expecting a 20 on Siobhan's craft check, XS?

Not even slightly. I'm still deciding what kind of benefit a 50 spellcraft check would provide.

Huh, I had figured making Siobhan a True Silver Sword right off the bat was reward enough, but I guess we were already close to that?

Also I'm leaning towards humans, because even if it's risky, I wanna see how Akko and her cadre measure up to adventurers

Perfection should be rewarded.

In that case, what about Akko finding and fixing whatever flaw Gyr ostensibly noticed in the Silver Swords, which is why he claimed to approach us in the first place? Or if that's too much, at least have Akko begin to get a rough idea of what Gyr was talking about.

Which reminds me, does Akko now have a better understanding of what enabled Gyr to possess Tzanzi and Siobhan? Like I don't see any reason the Silver Smiths wouldn't just use their own blood when crafting Silver Swords, and it seems unlikely that both Tzanzi and whoever's blood was used to forge Siobhan are both Gyr's descendants.

An interesting idea. But I have a plan now.

She does not. She suspects it was simply that no other githyanki allow themselves to be possessed by a Silver Sword on a regular basis that it happened at all. she still doubts it was Gyr herself..
