Not bothering to turn off Segunda Etapa you take off by kicking the ground under your feet.
The amount of debris you just sent flying was a bit shocking even to you.
With the wind whistling as it passes by your gills you lock onto Aaronieros trail and begin following it.

But unfortunately you didn't make much progress before your senses alerted you to something coming from below.
Jerking your head in the direction of the approaching object you see a rapidly growing ball of light.

Swiftly you turn aside in order to dodge the approaching ball of fire and it flies past you.

Taking a sharp dive head first you shoot to the ground as top speed.

With dust filling the air around you it's hard to tell exactly where the one that assaulted you is hiding, even more so by the fact that they are trying their hardest to hide their spiritual signature.

Seeing that this ''thing'' is no doubt your opponents attack you raise your arms in a guard stance.
The cloud encircles you and once it surrounds you it closes you off from the outside world by forming a dome around you.
Not being able to see anything is definitely going to be a problem.

Taking a deep breath you relax your muscles and close your eyes.
Your ears and gills begin to twitch as you start sensing something from beyond the veil closing in on you.
A ball of fire penetrates your cage and feeling its presence you swat it away with a back handed slap.

You hear a loud Boom as it finally reaches the end of its new course and to your shock your cage begins to crumble away.

The two begin their attacks almost without warning.

You see the cats weapon turning into ash and surrounding you as it begins to swirl around.
While the others blade becomes a bit more abstract and resembling a tree.
Your guess is that hers is the one that's responsible for shooting those fireballs.

But you don't get to confirm that immediately as it's the cat that makes the first move.

The tornado around you begins to pick up the pace until it becomes quite ferocious.
Through the cone you can see the catgirl frantically slashing the air with a bladeless hilt in her hand.
Not really knowing what that's about you raise your hand in anticipation of the attack and find your wrist being cut.
It's not much as it barely managed to penetrate your Híerro but it's definitely there.
More annoyed than endangered you jump up to get out of her attack.

You have to give the owner of the weapon credit, it's a very creative way of attacking.
A blade that turns into ash that can lash out at anyone it comes in contact with if the user swings the handle around.
But as creative as it may be it's not very powerful, certainly not powerful enough to give you any trouble.

And that's when you get hit in the face by a fireball that came at you from your blind spot.
Now very annoyed you don't even bother to attack the two Zanpakuto you descend to the ground and fold your arms behind your back.

The two look at each other and realize that their individual attacks are not working.

The girl extends her open hand towards you and the ash begins assaulting you.

You don't know the purpose of this but if it's anything like her last attack it's nothing to worry about.
On the other hand you see her partner bringing out quite a scary amount of reiryoku but for some reason she doesn't release it.
Then it begins.

The ash around you finally makes its way to you in the form of dozens of serpentine shapes.
At first you don't even know what she wants to achieve with this but by the time you realize its purpose it's already too late.
Your eyes go wide as the realization comes to you.
''Oh no!''

Fine ash makes its way under the piece of carapace protecting your mouth and the ash enters your nostrils.
Looking up at the girl you can see her licking her lips.
''Tear, Haineko!''

You feel the ash making its way down your throat and to your lung and internal organs, tearing everything up along the way.
The sensation is otherworldly, like inhaling and swallowing dozens of razors at once and you can't help but cough, vomit and sneeze up scary amounts of blood.
At first you intended on withering their assault and sacking the mist on them afterwards but as things are you may have to use it to keep yourself alive.

The pink cat screams and she raises her hand.

Every hair on your body stands at attention as a painful tingly sensation washes over you.
Suddenly ash begins to pour out of your body and through your pores.
If you weren't a mess already now you have blood leaking out of your very skin.
Once all the ash leaves your body the fog quickly rushes to your aid and takes its place.

Feeling relieved a bit you look up after the ash and see something that doesn't make you feel too good about your future.
All of Haineko that up until now was in your body is now gathered up in one globe above your head and finally you realize what Tobiume was up to all this time.
She lashes out with her blade and it makes a cry similar to that of a birds cry.
An alarmingly large ball of fire makes its way to the orb of ash above you.

Once the two of them collide you can see the steel ash melting under the absurd heat and once the fireball explodes and sends all of the molten rain drops at you in a shower of pain.

The two shout the name of their combination attack.

The two then begin freaking out in quite an amusing fashion.

Both of them are on their knees and they are on the verge of tears.

A bit shocked by this but both Shinigami eventually nod in dumb confusion.
And just like that both Zanpakuto quickly revert to simple swords.

Still a bit sore in certain parts of your body you take off without any further delay.
You can almost hear the big bosomed shinigami complaining about you the second you do.
But that doesn't matter now.

Like a hound after blood you track Aaronieros trail until you can practically sense his presence.
After tracking him for a while you felt very impatient by this point and wasted no time approaching him.
Once you're only a few feet away you finally spot him in the darkness of night and call out for him.

While AA guides you through the dark depths you take great care to set up a series of traps, mostly trip wires to alert you to the coming enemy.
However you did manage to angle a few in a lucky but very devious way that anyone who falls over the wire will get impaled on stalagmites.
So it's a bit more useful.

After just a bit of walking you find the opening to a large room that's mostly empty with the exception of the two Zanpakutos standing in the middle of it.
One of them is a large, red, fire breathing monstrosity while the other is some small guy with a dinky box on his back.
You can't quite make out what they are speaking about but it almost seems like it's only the little guy talking to himself as you don't really see the big fellow doing much.

''Who are these two?''
You ask Aaroniero.

''How should I know?
All I know is that the big guy belongs to a Captain. No doubt about that.''

''Okay then...
What do you say we remove them from the premises?''

Aaroniero draws his sword.

The girl appears beside Aaroniero possessing her own version of the trident she's supposed to be the manifestation of.

With a slight nod you stand upright in the dark tunnel and place one foot in front of the other in preparation for your dash.
Using Sonído you get as close to the towering Zanpakuto as possible then kick yourself off of the ground and at your target.
You can hear the little guy letting out a quick ''What?!'' before you jump up, grab the giants head and smash it into the ground.
Secreting as much fog as you can you envelop the spirit in it as you keep him pinned to the ground by his face.

His little friend is quite shocked by this and raises his weapon in an effort to strike you down.

Within the black smog you slowly start making out a figure clad in darkness.
At first it resembled Ashers complete fullbring but after you thought the figure would stop developing it kept growing and expanding until it only resembled the form you previously knew barely.
Coming from in there you can hear a voice growing louder.

The figure begins to move its limbs around and after flexing them only once created such a powerful shockwave that shook the entire cave system and cleared the fog surrounding him.

The figure is massive.

And his strength is overwhelming. Lightning courses around him periodically which is just a side effect of the insane reiatsu swirling wildly around him.
Seeing the creature testing out his new ''body'' Muramasa walks up to him, clearly satisfied with his work.

But before he could even finish the monster back hands him in a manner similar to what you did to Byakuya, only a thousand times worse.
Muramasa hits the barrier behind them and bounces off of it with a loud crunch, cracking the wall in the process.

The figure charges you with speed and ferocity more befitting of a rabid animal than anything related to man.
Charging forward with a shoulder tackle you quickly see that the things on his shoulder is not for purely cosmetic reasons as the jaw opens up and you see the sharp fangs approaching you quickly.
Leaning to the side you manage to dodge being bit by that but he still manages to hit you and you feel just how much strength he has.
The impact of his attack felt like being hit by a runaway train and the fact that he managed to do a follow up attack didn't make it any better.
After catching you he abruptly stopped and as you were sent flying he grabbed hold of your ankle and smashed you into the ground.

Unfortunately for him it wasn't nearly enough to keep you down as you spring up with the help of your hands and stand toe to toe against him.
Raising your fists you unleash a barrage of punches aimed right at his chest.
Luckily he seems to be caught off guard by your swift recovery so couldn't manage to block you in any meaningful way.
At first he tried matching you blow to blow but after a while you simply overwhelmed him and unleashed the mother of all beatdowns on him.

After his last strike he jumps in the air and does a forward somersault with one leg extended and he hits your head with his heel.

The last attack did indeed send you flying backward.
But even in that state you kept your eye on him and got scared because of it.
Clapping his hands together he created a copy of Ashers sword.
And despite being far, FAR out of its reach he still swung it.

As he delivers the horizontal slash true to his word almost everything within the cave that was in line with the strike did indeed got separated into two pieces.
Everything from the stalagmites to the cave walls 'till the barriers around the Head Captain got cut apart and their top halves were even sent flying in the air.
The one thing that didn't get fully chopped up was you and this visibly offended him.

He can be seen deeply inhaling and you see reishi particles from all over his surroundings flock to him.
Once his lungs are full he leans forward and opens his mouth.
A brilliant flash of black and green begins to envelop you. The attack was remarkably similar to a cero and yet different enough to warrant its own name.

Once the dust settles and rubble is no longer flying everywhere you decide it's time to stand up.
Grasping your gut with one hand you can feel the wound being covered in thick metal.
His cutting technique was a devious one, a blade so thin that it's barely even visible grazing everything in a line and turning it into steel.
Then using his ability he manipulated the iron so that it would part.
At least he wasn't lying, his technique could theoretically cut anything as evidenced by the crumbling barrier around the Head Captain.

But even as you stand up the Einherjar are busy restoring the iron to flesh.
The match has been settled already. He just doesn't realize it.

Your eyes practically growing with rage you tear the entire arm out of its socket with only your teeth.
Following that he falls over in a fit of panic and you throw yourself onto him.
Using your remaining arm you begin tearing out his remaining limbs and start stuffing them into your mouth.

About halfway into the last limb however his body disperses into a cloud of pure, black reishi and it flies back towards Asher.
As the red mist of rage finally starts lifting from your mind you make your way to Aaroniero, Nejibana and Asher.
Trying to calm yourself via slow breathing you wipe the blood from your mouth.

Omake: The Winds of Destruction

The Court of Pure Souls is a rather large place.
Within it are not only pristine buildings but far stretching orchards as well.
For the various divisions these woods serve a variety of different purposes such as a place for training, recreation or in the case of the Third Division they planted numerous Persimmon trees for the sole purpose of drying their fruits.
And within one such forest we find Hisagi Shuhei fighting for his life.

The young lieutenant was ambushed by no less than two Zanpakuto, his own and another one.
He suffered many injuries in the engagement. Some of them smaller some of them larger, none lethal.
But Hisagi admits it to himself: He's losing blood too fast.
So he took a gamble, he attempted to lead his opponents into the personal garden of Ichimaru Gin himself.
A risky move to be sure. Should he put as much as a scratch on one of these trees the Captain would no doubt flay him for it.
On the other hand his opponents are in a similar pinch, even if they are mind controlled no one with even an iota of self preservation would dare to harm these trees.

Unfortunately for Shuhei, in a surprising exhibition of self restraint on the part of Kazeshini he and his ally did not in fact take the bait.
They are content simply biding their time until either Hisagi bleeds out or he makes a run for it.
Neither of them are dumb enough to walk into such an obvious trap.

Backed into a corner like that Hisagi is currently attempting to apply first aid to his wounds.
Staunching the flow of blood is his number one priority before his vision would get blurry.
''Damn it!''
He hisses as he ties a torn piece of his own shihakusho to his body.
But before he could continue he notices a strange presence rapidly approaching him.
''This pressure!''

Hisagi stands up quickly and raises his sword for the approaching opponent.
To his shock however it's not his would be murderer that came knocking on the front door but his master.

''Lieutenant! It's me!''
Momochi Chisato, formerly Rike Krieger, calls out to him.

''Third Seat! Thank the Reio it's you!''
Hisagi sheathes his sword in relief.
''But how did you find me?''

''I sensed me kicking your butt.
So I thought I'd come and help.
And damn you look like you need it.''

''Indeed.''
The Lieutenant sighs.
''Kazeshini caught me off guard...
I didn't expect him to bring friends.
But after Kira saved my hide from him the first time he came after me... he got a bit mad.''

''Yeah. No kidding.''
Rike says so while tearing off parts of her own uniform in order to patch up Hisagi.
''They did a number on you.''

Shuhei pauses for a moment.
''Thank you Kamaitachi, I owe you one.''

''Save your gratitude for after our lives are not in danger.
Speaking of which. How do we get out of here?''

''No idea.''
Hisagi admits to both himself and his subordinate.
''If they were alone it wouldn't be that difficult.
But considering yours specializes in long range combat and so does mine...
I'm afraid we don't stand much of a chance with only our sealed weapons.''

Rike stops and thinks to herself for a moment.
''How about kido?''

The lieutenant raises an eyebrow at that.
''I wasn't aware you even use kido.''

''Erm... well I don't.
I kinda suck at it. I can only do one Hado and I need the incantation for it.''

''Then it's pointless.
I'm more versed in Bakudo then Hado.
And it's pointless to restrain them if we can't follow up on it.''

''Actually Lieutenant...
What's your highest level binding?''

''Erm... 62.
Why?''

''Good. Then we should do that.
You handle the Bakudo and I'll do the Hado.
Just trust me on this one.''

Not having the strength nor the patience to argue with her Hisagi accepts her proposition.
It's not like he has a better idea anyway.
''Okay then.
But before we do anything I need to ask... Is there anything to your Zanpkauto I'm not aware of?
I need to know if it has any unknown strengths or weaknesses.''

''Just one thing...
If it stops mid air. Run.''

Hisagi nods.
''Thank you. I know it's rude to ask about your Zanpakutos weaknesses but I hope you understand.
In turn I'll share what I can about my own.
It's greatest strength is that there are two weapons. Even if you see only one blade coming, be ready to dodge at a moments notice because the other will surely follow.''

With the two of them coming to an agreement they moved out of their hiding spot.
The two bloodthirsty Zanpakuto caught onto their escape almost immediately.
Their assault is swift and savage with blades flying everywhere.
It doesn't take too long for the barrage of flying blades to hit Shuhei and send him to the ground.

With gleeful giggling Kazeshini appears.
''SERVES YOU RIGHT SHUHEI!''

Daibakaze appears alongside him and sighs.
''I told you that if you shriek once more I'm gonna leave your ass here...''

''Screw you! I can handle both of these losers on my own just fine!''

''Is that so? Aren't you the one who was begging for my help?''

Seeing the two bickering Hisagi looks at Rike.
''W-Wow... Your Zanpakuto is a man?!
That... explains a lot actually.''

''...
Really?
The guy whose Zanpakuto manifestation is a psychopath just said that?!''

Hearing their little exchange Kazeshini snaps at the two.
''OY!
What made you think you could talk?!
Let's get one thing clear you shinigami bastards!
The only sound I want to hear from you is your scream!''

Rike looks at the pitch black spirit before her and notices that he seems to be randomly flickering sometimes like a phantom of sorts.
''Wow Lieutenant... Did you ever consider therapy?
That's a lot of repressed anger.''
She then walks in front of Shuhei and draws her sword to protect her Lieutenant.

''DON'T YOU IGNORE ME YOU BITCH!''

Hearing Kazeshini swear like that Daibakaze steps over to him and puts a hand on his shoulder.
''Hey...''
Then he turns the black spirit around and punches him in the face, sending him to the ground.
''Didn't your mama tell you not to insult a lady?''

Seeing this Rike smiles.
''It's good to see you didn't change much Daibakaze...
That being said. I'll still have to kick your butt for insubordination.''

''Considering your past conducts master... I'm not too worried.
You'll just quit halfway through before you'd achieve anything...''

Hearing that Rike closes her eyes and breathes in slowly.
She then sheathes her sealed sword and raises her arms.
''O great slumbering lord...''
She extends her arms forward and overlaps them.

Daibakazes sole eye dilates the moment he hears those words.
Kazeshini notices this and asks his partner.
''Oy... Oy Oy!
What's wrong?!''

''R-RUN!''

Rike smiles at this and then swiftly ducks.
Behind her Hisagi has already made his preparations.
''BAKUDO #62: Hyapporankan!''
The rod flies forward and splits into numerous copies of itself, nailing the two Zanpakuto to a nearby rock.
''DO IT! THIRD SEAT!''

Rike resumes her incantation and her spiritual pressure rises considerably.
''Wings of devastation. An infertile land cleansed by fire. North, South, East and West.
Break thine chains and never relent.
Fly where the wind takes you and reduce all to soot.
HADO #88: Hiryū Gekizoku Shinten Raihō!''

Once the Kido is fired off a brilliant blue flash of pure power envelops the two bound Zanpakuto.
When the smoke clears all that remains of their enemies are two regular and sealed swords.

Hisagi can't help but rub his eyes at this.
''T-THIS IS THE HADO YOU KNOW?!
H-HOW?! THIS DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!
HOW CAN A LEVEL 80 HADO BE THE ONLY ONE YOU CAN DO?!''

Rike sighs and falls to her knees in exhaustion.
''I'm kinda bad at Kido...''
She explains.
''But my son... he loves the stuff.
I remember that even in the academy he always borrowed books detailing Kido from the Library.
He was reading up the high level stuff one day when I noticed this.
I thought it looked cool so... I kept practicing it until I could use it.
That's it really.''

''H-holy...
So you learned an 80 level Hado because it caught your interest?!
Heh... you really are a strange one Third seat.''

Rike just smiles and extends an arm to Hisagi.
''I'll take that as a compliment.
Now then Lieutenant... Let's get our swords back.''
