My name is Andy Talbert, a guy who slightly stands out more than the rest.

When I went to go to shower I tried washing away the mark, however it didn’t go away.

After eating my breakfast I put my dog in the backyard with some food and water. After that I went into my car.

At times like this I really regret the fact that my AC doesn’t work, especially since it’s starting to warm up.

Right as I finished my first class I had two hours before my next one, so I decided to go hang out at the library.

When I entered Melony was in the library. She’s a good friend of mine, her hair is shoulder length and messy, and she’s got the quite the bangs. She’s wearing glasses.

I wave to her and she smiles, “How’s your classes for today?”

“Pretty good, had the professor last semester.” She scoffs “Lucky, one of my teachers is a total slave driver.”

I look at her reading, “So, what’s that book about?”

“Eh, it’s a sci-fi that masquerades as a fantasy. It was kinda bland up until the twist.”

After talking for a bit I got a text from one of my other friends Rebeca Yo wanna get some taco bell .

Melony’s class starts up in about 15 minutes, knowing that….

“So how's you’re day been going?” “Good, didin’t have any classes today so I’ll have to work in a little bit.”

After hanging out in the library for a bit you went off to the rest of your classes

It was a rather uneventful day, got out of my classes near the evening and when I was driving past the trainyard on the way home I noticed something strange, a man wearing chinese looking armor.

At first I thought it was a some larp thing, but he was currently all by himself. I was wondering if he was early or something. I had to drive some of my friends to larps before so I was kinda curious and approached him

As I approached he turned to me and said “Ah, one of the masters I’ve been waiting for.” “Wait master, what are you talking about?”

“Oh dear, a master who isn’t a traditional magus, don’t worry I’ll explain things after your servant has been summoned”

After that my hand started to glow with pain and I had my fateful encounter with

There was a flash and he was standing there, the man who would help me through this the upcoming crisis, Assassin.

He stood there, as if to size me up with his eyes, when he said the four words that kicked off the what changed my world, “Are you my master?”

“I’ll need have to do a lot of explaining, by the way you may refer to me as Ruler, and this is your servant Assassin”

“Hold up, what’s all this servant and master stuff about in the first place?”

“Well, you are a participant in the Holy Grail war. A battle between maguses, magic users, to get a wish. To get that wish they summon servants who are people who acquired a large amount of fame, or in some cases infamy. The servants are summoned in several classes, I won’t explain what they are right now, just take this note on what they are.”

“So what do I have to do with this? I mean I’m not one of those maguses or whatever so why me?” Ruler let’s out a huge exhale “Well, for some reason the Holy Grail decided to make a larger amount of masters than normal, so it summoned me to regulate things.”

“For this Holy Grail war there will be a team deathmatch between 3 teams of seven masters and servants, followed by a free for all once the numbers of master and servants reaches a normal amount.”

Ruler pointed his sword at us “From henceforth, you shall be the Assassin of Red. I’ll organize a meeting with the rest of your team once all servants have been summoned sir….”

“Andy Talbert.” Ruler makes a grin “Alright sir Talbert, I’ll be seeing you soon.” Ruler steps towards me and shakes my hand, leaving the note he was writing while he talked “Until we meet again.”

As I get in the car I sort of wait for Assassin to get in the car but he just disappears. Figuring it was just magic I let it slide and drive back home. While on the drive home I heard Assassin’s voice “So, you’re my new accomplice huh. Andy Talbert…… not a bad name.”

“Ruler mentioned that the servants that get summoned are people who were famous right? So who are you?” At that point Assassin just started laughing “Why ruin the mystery? Regardless you’ll learn eventually.”

After letting my doggo back in and sprawling out on my bed I get curious about the Holy Grail war and….

After reading the note I get the rough gist of how things work.

Sabers use swords, with the skill of magic resistance.

Lancers use longarms, with the skills of magic resistance as well as battle continuation.

Archers use ranged weaponry, with the skills of magic resistance and independent action.

Casters use magic, their skills normally consist of territory creation as well as Item creation.

Riders don’t have any specific weapons they use, their skills include riding.

Assassins don’t got specific weapons, they have presence concealment.

Berserkers don’t use specific weapons, they got madness enhancement.

The command seals can force a servant to do anything and once the last one is used contract with the servant is over with.

“So where you a killer before you become a servant?” Assassin appears and he has as stern look in his eyes “No. I never killed anyone before.”

After saying that his expression eases up “The reason why I was summoned as a assassin is because I quietly ran among shadows, I never got caught unless I wanted to.”

“Well that’s somewhat assuring, glad I didn’t end up with a serial killer or something.” Assassin also peeked up as if he just remembered something “Oh yeah, I gotta teach you how to do something, if you want I can teach you how to do it tomorrow.” “I’ll think about it.

After that I had a dream of Assassin running in the raptors of a building, he had something clutched in his hands. He then got to ground level and wait for some guards to pass by. I don’t know why but my heart felt like it was racing this entire time.

Then my alarm clock went off.

Classes were rather uneventful, after all my classes for today I got a text from Melony [italics] Hey, I got test on monday, Do you mind helping me out? [/italics]

“I can somewhat understand things and what they do but what’s a noble phantasm?”

“A noble phantasm is sort of a servant's ace in the hole, it’s something from who they were before becoming a servant. Although because of that, using them somewhat gives away who they are. It’s also possible for servants to have multiple noble phantasms.”

Also when I got home there was a letter from ruler saying to meet up at the civics center at 8 pm.

I went to go hide and after a while, the footsteps subsised.

Then I heard a familiar voice “Did I get all the letters sent? I’m pretty sure I told them to meet here.”

I eased up, that voice belonged to Ruler. I walk out of my hiding spot and greeted him. “Yo Ruler, didn’t know if you actually sent that letter or someone posing as you.”

He nodded “I can see why, especially since all of the servants have been summoned. Regardless how have you been getting along with Assassin?”

“He helped me fill in a few gaps of what’s going on, he’s a bit mysterious, but a good guy so far.”

Ruler looks around and sighs, “And what’s your opinions on sir Talbert Assassin? Wherever you are.”

“Well first of all, he’s not a bad kid.” I looked up to where the voice was coming from and assassin was sitting on a chandelier “He doesn’t know much about the Grail War but that’s to be expected since he isn’t a magus.”

“Sounds like you two are getting along, regardless, I’m here to introduce you to the rest of the red servants and masters, in fact one’s coming in at the moment.”

In through the doors came in a wild looking man with a eyepatch, next to him was a young looking blond girl in a yellow kimono with an orange sash. She also had…..horns? Guess she’s the servant.

“Is the party ready to start, I brought the chick so everything should be fine right?” The eye patched man says, Ruler gave him a look “Take a seat, you’re the second pair to arrive.”

After them came in a European knight and a cute girl.

Then a businessman followed by an absurdly large man wearing red chinese armor.

Next was two woman. One was incredibly beautiful and I think I’ve seen the other at the college before.

After that was a girl who was dressed for warm weather with a huge scarf. Walking beside her was an older looking man.

And lastly was a man who looked like he didn’t take anything seriously and another girl with horns and a tail, this time she had pink hair.

“Finally all red servants have gathered, I brought you all here so you can get to know each other. But don’t give to much away, for if you survive long enough you might find you’re allies might become foes.”

“Know let the festivities begin, and consummate you’re alliance.”

With that in mind I talked to

You walk up to the pink haired girl and her master. The girl notices and you and says, “Let me guess, you saw me and got entranced by my looks Piggy?”

Somewhat annoyed at the fact she called you piggy you decide to continue the conversation with her “Nice to meet you two, and why did you call me piggy?”

The man who was partying it up, who doesn’t have sober movement, “That’s just what Lancer calls everyone, matey. So where’s your servant? Haven’t seen yours and everyone else has shown theirs, so why don’t you show yours .” Didn’t know this guy was Irish.

“Why I’m right here” Assassin says as he becomes visible again right behind the drunken man, with a grin on his face. He let out an sound as he got suprised

“Gave me bit of a shock there for a moment, anyways nice to meet ya. Name’s Coner O’Flannigan and this be my servant Lancer, you?”

“Andy Talbert, and this is Assassin.” Lancer scoffs “So a piggy and a masked piggy, I’ll remeber you two at my world debut.”

Curiosity got my hold again so I must full fill it. “World debut?”

Conor peeks up, “She want’s to become human again and take the world by storm. Anyway it was nice meeting the only non-magus master here.”

Deciding that it would be a good idea to get to know some of the teams heavier hitters, I decide to get know the knight and the girl.

The girl seems somewhat displeased and hides her face away from us.

“Hi, names Andy Talbert, since we’re grouped together might as well get to know each other since we’re technically a part of a team so we can depend on each other.”

She quickly glances towards me with a response “Well, I don’t want to get seen with this sexual harassment tyrant, I heard he was strong and I wanted a saber, so I summoned him.” her voice is a bit deep sounding for someone her apparent age.

“Well what can I say? I love the ladies, and that’s the best way to control me without the use of a command seal.” At that point she just stomps on his feet, only for her to reel back in pain.

After the expression of pain subsides she looks towards me “So you’re not a magus huh, wonder if you got any magic circuits.” I stare at her in confuision “Magic circuits?”

She sighs “It’s how maguses conduct magic, here give me your hand and I’ll try running some throught you to see if you have any.”

After you give her your hand her hand starts glowing and there is utter look on shock on her face “Wait what! I’m only a fourth generation of maguses and I don’t have as many as you do. It’s not fair.”

“Well, why don’t you teach me the basics of magic some time then if it’s not fair.” She pauses for a moment “Sure might as well. Let’s exchange numbers.” With a quick question I see her face go bright red “What’s your name?” with her face lit up she quietly mumbled “Kelly.”

Then I focused on saber

While I was driving the car Assassin suddenly “Get out of the car!”

As he dives towards we hurdled out of the car. Right after that it was punctured by a rain of arrows. It looked like a pin cushion.

“Well, guess I missed, better luck next shot.” A man cloaked in green with a bow said, while I called Kelly she could listen in. “Knew it was a good idea to follow Ruler, let me scout out the red servants and masters.”

“So, judging by the other servants appearance when they entered, that would probably leave you with being the Assassin’s master,”

Right as he said that Assassin moves in to attack, but the two of them seem to be as equally fast. With the Archer countering when he can as Assassin has to appear to attack, it looks like the Archer has the slight edge physically.

Assassin doesn’t look to good when he appears, as if he got more torn up when he was invisible….wait are those arrows poisoned?

“Don’t know where you are but my next shot will finish you off, and after that your masters next.” when he said that his bow began to glow green.

Then...a diamond appeared out of his chest? “Votre trésor est à moi!” Assassin appeared and managed to grab that diamond. Then the diamond changed into Archer’s bow and the bow Archer had disappeared.

“Wait, what the fuck!? Guess it’s time to retreat then.”

After that he disappears, his noble phantasm apparently stolen.
