/qst/ - Quests

>The Intro
Hey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.
Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.
Mostly.

>The Rules
I will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barret, a high school student who has just left his home of 16 years tp move to Gotham City, and you will be given prompts to direct him.
Some things will require a dice roll to determine successs or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything.

The voting period will last 15 minutes after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.

>The Dice
We will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.

>The Point
Let's have some fun.

Life changes in a hurry. Just a couple of days ago you were Morgan Barret, passable high school student and general point of disinterest. And now? Well, you're still Morgan Barret. And you're still a just a passable high school student. But now you think you need to start adding vigilante to the list of your descriptors. By chance, you stumbled upon a plan by supervillain Anarky in Gotham City to attack the Gotham Knights Stadium during a huge game between the Knight and the Metropolis Meteors. The real kicker is his weapon of choice. Something called Fear Toxin that the Batman told you is capable of making you experience your worst fears in ways that make all victims violently panic until they are stopped or cured.

You met Robin, Batman's partner/protege when you went against the Bat's orders and followed the trail you picked up to the meeting place and secret base of Anarky's men. Some dump of a chinese joint called Mr'Lung's. He saved your ass when you got caught by a bad mix of chemicals. Unlike his boss, he's got a sense of humor and didn't try to send you home. Which makes him good in your books. And he discovered that now that he and Batman have picked up this case, the bad guys are going with plan B. Release the feat toxin in the surrounding areas of the Stadium before they can do anything and create chaos.

Now that you've gotten Batman to let you in on this, or at least tolerate you until the end of the night. You are on your way to where the action is. In nothing else but the. motherfucking. Batmobile. And you thought it sounded kind of lame at first when you first heard it. When you all exited the building and Batman called it over with some device it looked mundane as hell, albeit expensive as hell. But then it transforms, the car expands and plates of metal shift and fold to reveal all kinds of things that can't be street legal.

And this would be a lot cooler. Expect you're stuck in back. Of course it's designed with only two important passengers in mind so your put in one of the couple of seats in the back that Batman reserves for civilians that need an emergency lift. No biggie. You still rode in the Batmobile. But it's kind of dark in here, there aren't any windows but you can tell your going places by the unmistakable feeling of extreme speed this thing is rocking. You must be speeding through Gotham like a rocket but it still feels smooth as all hell. Then you come to a smooth but sudden stop.

>Continued
>>
>>1548738
You hear the main doors open and footsteps leaving the vehicles and just for one sinking moment you think they're gonna leave you in the car. But thankfully the back opens up and you go to join the Dynamic Duo. Robin is tapping away at the floating display on his gauntlet. "The Batcomputer finished compiling street camera images of Anarky's guys, sending likely bomb locations now."

Batman fiddles with machine as well as he walks to the side of the Batmobile and makes a compartment inside pop open he stares inside for a moment before turning to face you. "Did you bring any equipment with you?"

You pause and look down at your holey clothes and hold your arms up in a way that you hope conveys; Do I look prepared for this?

In response he tosses you a belt, similar to his Robin's though it doesn't have nearly as many pockets or look as high tech. Robin helps you wrap it around your chest and over your shoulder and gives you a quick rundown of everything that's in this one. You feel like you might forget at least one of the several tools but hell, you'll manage. You kind of have to.

Batman puts a hand on Robin's shoulder before you all get to work. "If you see Anarky, or Crane, call for backup."

They turn in opposite directions and realize that they must split up and work separately a lot, it's all happens quickly like they've done it a hundred times. Then you also realize that they're gonna split up and no ones telling you where to go.

>Go with Batman, sure he'll probably be looking for the crazed supervillain but hey- it's Batman.

You break into a brisk jog to catch up to the red clad hero, who's already picked a direction and set off in a hurry. You both run through the dark alleys of the city until Robin pulls out a... grapple gun? He turns to you and extends a hand. "It won't be nearly as quick as it should be but it's still faster than the stairs.

"Actually, I think I have a solution for that." You focus and your body separates into into it's half formed state. A small cloud of dark grey rolls off of you and Robin just raises an eyebrow. You clasp his arm in yours. "Just take off like you normally do. Trust me."

He fires off the grapple line and you're both off in a flash your light body adding little weight to the journey. Robin certainly seems impressed as you both land on the roof. "Too bad there's no spare grapnel with the spare belt, you'd really fly on your own."

"I'll make sure to swing by Home Depot when this is over." You both enter the building through the roof access and Robin gets low to the ground, he footsteps barely audible. And with your powers, you just sort of glide across the floor silently behind him. When you reach a door in the long hallway you came in with a clear commotion going on behind it he signals with his hands that he's going to go in loud. You have no objections.

He prepares one of his metal fighting sticks and a handful of his one throwing weapons before kicking the door open and rolling in. You follow and just try to hit whoever ends up in front of you first.

The room the two of you invade has to has at least several guys in it, they were crowded around a big plastic vat with various machinery sticking into it, but now they're scrambling to defend themselves. You focus on keeping your body as loose as possible without overstepping and go in for the first henchmen to your left while robin throws out those weapons of his and goes to town on the guy to your right before immediately flipping into a kick to the next ones face.

You harden your fists- it's getting easier every time. And lay into the thug in front of you. You regret not taking those boxing classes a little right now but you know your way around a good ol fashioned street fight. You first opponent crumbles under your enhanced strikes. then another, and another. Your feeling a rush of adrenaline like never before.

And then. One guess one of them panics, because the dumbass lights and throws a molotov your way. You swoop back and avoid taking fire bottle to the face but the splash. It hurts worse than the fumes from earlier and doesn't give a shit that your practically completely broken up into dust. You scream and go down. Fuck does it hurt! As far as you can tell through you mind screaming through the pain, Robin is still fighting on. You push up trying to pull yourself together when you realize that you've almost completely snapped back into a solid being. Your right shoulder is literally smoking. Okay, fuck fire

>Continued
>>
>>1548943
By the time you're good to go again Robin is all done and is rushing to your side. "Are you okay?"

"I- fuck man, I'm not sure. But I can keep going." Not quitting now.

"Are you really sure? You just had fire splashed on you." He pats out your smoking shoulder and you hiss from the unexpected pain. "Sorry." He backs off from you and checks the terror bomb. He disconnects a few things and even removes a couple components before throwing them on the ground and smashing them with a stomp. "I'll ask again. This is only the first one. Are you sure you can keep this up?"

After all you've done tonight? You're not gonna let a little fire send you packin. "Absolutely."

The corner of his mouth turns up a little. "Then lets go."

---

Now the two of you are looking down in on another group of thugs. These ones aren't even hidden, they're just keeping everyone walking away from this alley and setting up under the cover of night. You and Robin are perched on a fire escape and he's rifling through his belts many pockets.

But he's not the only one with tools.

What do you wanna use?

>A bunch of ball bearings? They're real slippery so this could easily screw with them.

Alright, you've got this. You pull out your choice of non-lethal firepower and nod to let Robin know your all set. He nods back and the two of you get to work. He leaps down in the center of the group, near the gas bomb, and drops a bomb of his own. A puff of obscuring white smoke explodes out from where he was and through all the shouting you hear the pained grunts of Robin's victims.

Your turn. You drop down outside of the chaos of the smoke and focus on the thugs who made it out without being put down by Robin. You don't wanna waste this thing since you have know idea how many times you get to shoot it so you wait until you see the biggest thug yet stumble out of the cloud. He spots you and immediately charges you with a bat. The guy has gotta be like 6'5, over 300 pounds?

That's cute.

He can't tell behind your 'mask' but you make sure to have the biggest shit eating grin on your face as you take aim and pull the trigger on the taser gun. It kicks the smallest amount and sends out a dual pronged attack. Two long wires stick him in the chest and the big lug down immediately. Convulsing just like on those real footage Cop shows. Hmm.

That emboldens you and you take the opportunity of Robin's yet to clear smoke screen to go on the offensive. Your shoulder still screams at you every time you throw a punch but with your powers even your untrained strikes hit like a sack of bricks. You float from target to target, mostly cleaning up the ones Robin softens up from with his cloud but your not picky. A couple of times you find it difficult to hold in your glee when thugs try to club you with a crowbar, a baton, even knife or shoot you but maintaining your loose form just gets easier and easier and it's hard not to feel superior when you can't be touched.

When all is said and done you and Robin are panting and standing amongst about a dozen unconscious men. And your cloud has receded into you somewhat. Not bad for a rookie, you think.

You're about to ask Robin how you did but he holds up a hand and holds the other up to his ear. "We're done here. On the way." He waves you over and he takes off at a sprint forcing you to as well to keep up. "Batman's facing down Anarky. All bombs have been accounted for and were to go on standby once we reach him."

Here we are at the end. "Let's not keep the man waiting."

>Continued
>>
>>1549230
"Batman, you disappoint me at every turn." The man who just must be Anarky speaks as calmly as if he were sipping tea in his armchair as he's fighting Batman

Anarky isn't at all what you expected. You though you'd see more of the same you saw with his men. But this guy clearly thinks highly of himself. His deep red robe like clothing whips about in the breakneck pace of his fight with Batman and on his face sits an eerie gold mask. Batman, for his part stays mostly silent as he bobs and weaves around the villains electrified staff. Similarly golden as his mask, the staff crackles with electricity and he might as well be swinging it randomly for how well your able to follow the fight.

Robin doesn't seem to be worried though, and he stands with you behind the corner you chose to wait for your moment of attack. Everything seems to be going to plan until Anarky presses something on his staff and the small golden globes on each end fall loose from the staff itself and extend out of metal cords. He swings them about, still electrified creating a strange dual pronged attack. "I do hope you realize that neither of us are walking away from this bomb if your so preoccupied with me Batman. I wonder if the Boy Wonder will interfere."

Again, he sounds so goddamn casual you can't stand it. Batman still doesn't care though. And pulls off a strange flip into Anarky's range and slams a heavy palm into his face and chest. That doesn't stop him though. He carries on after stumbling briefly and Robin, who you hadn't even realized moved, now attacks him from behind throwing his flying R's while Anarky simply switches to a defensive strategy but he doesn't seem fazed.

Dammit. This is taking too long. You don't even know when this thing is set to go off but it can't be long. An just one of these going off would be absolutely terrible for the people around. not to mention yourself.

>Go for the bomb and disable it. Anarky is busy enough.

You watch Anarky twirl around his staff, the twin orbs spin in separate directions but he's in complete control of it. But not in control of this fight. Batman and Robin get closer by the second but watching him move makes the decision to go for the bomb instead of jumping into a fistfight with the crimson colored villain very easy.

You slide your way around the mostly empty lot the fight is taking place in. You look to the nearby apartments and try not to think about what would happen if these people are caught in this. Moving as slyly as you can, you wait for the fight to force Anarky to turn his back to his bomb. Then as soon as your clear you move in, The bomb itself, is of course bigger than the two that you and Robin took care of.

Okay, okay just calm down and copy what Robin did. Easy right? In reality you have no idea what he really did but it should stop if you just dismantle the fucking thing right? You harden your fists and start smashing components and ripping out any small bits that can. The thing doesn't go off in your face so you figure that means you're doing something right. No ones being subjugated to this shit. Not tonight. Not if you can help it.

This feels unreal. The fact that what your doing now is far cry from your normal Friday nights is not lost on you. You grin with uncontained glee when you really let it sink in again. You are disarming a bomb while Batman and Robin fight a supervillain. Granted, you aren't actually disarming shit. Breaking is really the only apt term. In fact, it seems there's nothing more of this thing left to-

Then it hits you. The worst pain you've ever felt. Worse than the flames and damn worse than the chemical fumes. Your body is being assaulted by electricity and god does it hurt! Every muscle in your body is rebelling against your control as you spasm onto the ground. You even feel all of your dust snap back into you violently, giving in to the coursing energy.

Then your world goes dark.

The first thing that really hits you is the smell of alcohol. Not alcohol for pleasure but for medical use. That real powerful shit that fills your nose and won't let go for long after. Your eyes flutter open and you see your in a bed. You almost think it's your bed before you notice the sheets are way comfier than yours.

Raising your hand you see an IV stuck in your right arm and following it, you notice someone standing next to the bed your lying in. It's an older lady. Graying hair mixed in with the dark. She's going about her business, writing on various papers and typing away on a positively ancient computer. Good lord that thing must be over 20 years old.

She hasn't noticed you yet, what with her back turned. You turn your head at snails pace and your actually surprised to see a sleeping Robin in a chair next to your bed. He sits with his arm crossed but his head back, mouth open. Snoring lightly. Pff

You steel yourself for an answer you won't like, then speak up. "So, where's here? And don't give some bullcrap like 'safe'. Safe is relative."

To her credit, the doc doesn't seem surprised in the least when you suddenly pipe up. She just looks over her shoulder at you and continues her typing. Clack, clack, clackin away. "Here, young man. Is my clinic. It's downtown. Not too far from a shop that sells simply wonderful bagels."

Alrighty. Since Robin is here snoozing away like you were just minute ago, she probably isn't some mad doctor or anything. You allow yourself to relax a bit. "Well then, give it to me straight doc." You look down toward the foot of your bed and wiggle your toes just make sure your not about to make a very poorly timed joke. "Will I ever smell again?"

She gives a very, well- grandma-like chuckle. One that suggests she's more than used to kids like me. "If your sense of humor survived then I imagine smell wouldn't be an issue."

"Oh they're gonna have to pry that outta my dead cold hands ma'am." You turn your head back over to Robin. He's still sound asleep for this little conversation. You sigh with false satisfaction. "Y'know they're so cute at this age, one supervillain fight and he's out like a light."

That gets a laugh. "I'll make sure to tell him you think he's cute when he wakes."

Oof. "Oh come on, don't do me like that doc."

"If you insist." She turns, he lips pressed into a thin smile. "Doctor patient confidentiality and all that. And to be fair, you were out like a light too." She crosses he arms, going from grandma-like to stern in swift order. "I don't know if I should be impressed or appalled, I've only had the pleasure of knowing one as stubborn as you a few times in all my years of practicing medicine."

"Um, sorry doc." God you feel like your with your mom right now.

"Oh no, don't be sorry for me. Be sorry for whoever is waiting for you to come home tonight." Ouch.

Thankfully. Robin stirs and he brightens up fro his sleepy stupor when he sees your awake already. "Hell of a first night out."

"Well I try not to half ass anything." You can't help but smile.

Then the doctor chimes in. "Yes, the injuries you sustained would like to agree." Well, shit. She has a point. You can definitely stand and walk no problem but yeah. No crime fighting tomorrow.

"Batman is out doing clean up. I wanted to be here when you woke up just to let you know everything went over as smoothly as can be expected. And... well-"

"Come now, speak up." She chimes in again. Back to grandma mode.

"Right." He exhales and looks you right in the eye. "Why's you do it? You could've walked away let us handle it multiple times but you didn't. Forget could've gotten hurt you DID get hurt. So I need to here it. Why?"

That's a damn good question. It's also in this moment, when you realize they've both seen your face.

>I just- I knew it had to be done. Isn't that good enough?
>What? I wasn't about to let Batman bench me. I didn't even think he was real until a day ago.

This is funny. This is real goddamn hilarious. It's funny because you met Robin just tonight. And you're about to talk to him about a subject you avoided with your mom for months. But he asked. And who knows, maybe the truth will set you free?

"... I moved here from Metropolis y'know? Like, only a couple days ago." You begin slowly and Robin and the doctor are giving you all the attention in the world. "We moved here, my mom and me. For her job opportunity. And-" You nearly choke on the word. "To get out of the house my dad died in." You can feel them both tense up without looking at them. The air in the room feels much colder than it actually is. "It was several months ago. I was walking home from school. Things were tough for us since my dad couldn't find work. You heard of Suicide Slums? We lived right on the brink of it. I still don't think it's as bad as the name says. Anyway. It's not a complicated story. I came home and-" It was all over everything. "I came home and the door was open. That wasn't a big deal but when my dad didn't answer I went looking." Dead. "He was.. dead. Just lying there on the kitchen table. Someone murdered him. Cut him real real bad"

The doc puts a hand on yours. It's so warm compared to air in the room. "They cut him, real real bad. And uh- when I saw it I just..." You raise your other hand and will it to break apart and reassemble. "But it was my whole body. I didn't understand what was happening to me. I couldn't move I couldn't do anything. I just sort of, evaporated. And when I came to it was a couple hours later and I was a block away from my house. Then I did what I had to. I walked back, and called the police. All the cops and detectives said it didn't match any known killers. They asked all sorts of questions. But it all boils down to the fact that someone just- came into our house. And killed my dad."

You look at Robin and return his gaze, right into his eyes. "And when I thought of other people feeling that? So many people in that stadium, who just came to have a good time? Or those people who ere living nearby where we fought tonight turning on each other because of this Anarky asshole? No. Absolutely not. I had the power to change it. If I tried hard enough. And we did it. That's why."

Robin is speechless, you think. He just stares, almost reminding you of Batman. "Sounds like a hero to me." He says. Then he does something you didn't expect. He takes off his mask. "Robin!" The doctor gasps.

"Hey it's only fair right?" He looks back to you. A strained smile on his face. He extends his hand. "My names Dick."

You take his hand in yours and shake. "Morgan."

It's only then, that you see Batman. Standing with his back turned in the doorway through the gap in the curtain surrounding your bed.

>End of session.
All right guys. I'll be around for questions as always. You'll have some decisions to make next session. And I think that won't be until the weekend.

Your name is Morgan Barret. And right now, you're a high school student. And your struggling to get through the drudgery of the school day. As Mr.Scott continues to lecture the class on the finer points of Geometry you allow your mind to wander a bit as you stare through the open window. It's just about fall now, the leaves are showing the barest hint of changing colors. The scent of rain is the air. And you tap your foot on against the lump in your backpack that is the umbrella mom forced you to bring along to school. It hasn't rained all day, you think to yourself. But that doesn't mean it won't, you hear her retort in your head.

It's all good. You want it to rain really. Anything to change up the last few weeks. It's been about four weeks since you fought alongside Robin, and helped save a whole neighborhood from something called Fear Toxin. It would've made them see and feel their nightmares come to life. And it undoubtedly would've made them turn violent on anyone near. Friends, family. Anyone. You finally talked about dad. And with strangers no less. You can't help but acknowledge that little cold ball in your stomach as guilt. What would mom say?

But then again, you did save people's lives. Real hero work. Would she be proud of that? You might need to find out. Then you remember your injuries when you reach into your bag for a new pencil. Ah yes, some light burns on your shoulder and I experienced some high voltage when I got caught in the back by Anarky. Your sure Batman kicked his ass after that though, wish you could've seen it. You keep coming back to that.

Well, you have been riding that high for weeks now. Despite your battle scars. But this last month hasn't been SO boring. Everyone saw it. It was on literally every news channel, it was online. The only way you missed it is if you didn't want to see it. All the big name capes got together. Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Batman of course. Well, he wasn't present. Guess he's still a ways away from straight up smiling for the camera. They did something huge. They got together and told the world they were forming a team. A team to fight the greatest threats. The Justice League. It was really really something.

You even saw someone you hadn't seen before. He was- strange looking. Straight up green skin. They just flat out admitted he's an alien, like Superman. People love Superman... and they trusted the new guy enough to include him in the league. But, his name is Martian Manhunter. That name didn't inspire a lot of confidence online. You think it's pretty sick to be honest. There was also one more new guy, called...

It was just some guy, but he was like, the epitome of stage magician. Slightly older guy, dark hair, impeccable suit and top hat. He even had a friggin magic wand. You're a metahuman, and you've seen aliens and Batman disappears like a ghost- but magic? You'll leave that subject shelved for now. Even if he did make some crazy fireworks for the grand opening of the Hall of Justice. It's their base. Completely open to the public they said. Well, not completely, it definitely has to have 'employees only' sections.

And the Hall itself? It's big. Real big. The modern stylings and built in art of the place definitely do not scream cheap. What it does say, is that either someone with deep pockets is backing the League like no tomorrow. Or, that someone with deep pockets is in the League. You're sort of left to ponder that as the school bell rings. Signalling the end of yet another day. You practically race out of the building from there to get on the bus. You're ready to get back out there and do something- anything! Rescue a cat from a tree, whatever.

But the bus ride does give you some time to think. And being almost completely alone with your thoughts reminds you of arguably the most important thing you earned form your battle with Anarky. After you were cleared by the doc, Dr.Thompkins you learned later. Batman was kind enough to drop you off at your place. It did bother you the tiniest bit that he didn't need directions, but you're getting a handle on just what kind of person is beneath the Bat. Dick even dropped his costume and palled around with you at the door to make it convincing for mom. You didn't have to fake it, he's cool.

While mom bought it you were still subjected to a lecture about barely warning her before you stay out for the night and whatnot, you know she just worries so you took it humbly. Then you found it. Slipped inside your pocket was a rectangular device similar to a phone but as far as you know it's only got one function. Call Batman. The message on screen when you found it said to only use it when yiou or other people are in serious danger.

It makes you wonder. Does this mean he trusts you not to get yourself killed? Or does it mean just the opposite, something to let him keep an eye on you? Either way. You've got a direct line to the Bat now so things are definitely better than they were a couple days ago. With that new found security. (And some pain meds) You drifted off to dream land pretty easily. But now you're here, back home and with a head swirling with ideas. You're going to keep doing this. So you need a costume, and maybe a few other things. You definitely can't afford the crazy tech the dynamic duo were using, let alone know where to purchase stuff like that. So you need to be clever.

>Alright guys, time to build yourself a costume. Street level style. Tell me what you want.
>>
>>1561086

Hoodie, tight jeans, some boots and gloves.
>>
>>1561101

>>1561086

Have the costume consist of several layers of varying clothes and materials (i.e. metal, plastic, rubber, etc.) which we can "scramble into and out of focus as we please, and to fir the situation. The colors should primarily be earthen, or dark, with the exception of one purposefully high-vis type item. All of these would be underneath an edge-weighted cloak that hides our face. We would also have several lengths of rope and chemicals (in order to cancel out possibly harmful effects like pepper spray and fire).
>>
>>1561121
if so then giving support

Dark blue blends into the night pretty well, if we go out at that time.
>>
Ok. To combine what I'm seeing here I'd say something that covers all the skin so some kind of mask, gloves, boots. A new hoodie. Anything else? Any tools? I'm seeing rope, and something to cancel out pepper spray and fire but as far as I know the only way to deal with pepper spray is to wash and wait, and fire well you gotta stop drop and roll. Remember Morgans means are limited and it has to be something you can buy in a store with cash without raising suspicion.

You spend a little while just letting images of what could be just sit in your head. Gonna need something more sturdy, flame retardant if at all possible. Should probably layer up. Shirt, hoodie, jacket. Definitely need the hood, it already feels like it's part of your look. Get some nice thick and rock solid boots. You consider gloves, but why not just wrap up in boxing tape? It'll last longer and it's made to withstand punching dudes in the face. Yeah. It's coming together.

Should also probably pick up something to cover your face in case your 'mask' falls again. Batman and Robin seeing you turned out fine, even well. But you definitely don't want the likes of Anarky knowing who you are. A snow mask and goggles should help with that. All in all, it seems your prom suit is complete.

But you could use a utility belt of your own. At the very least, something to tie up bad guys and maybe you could definitely pick up self defense tools available to the general public. Who would wonder why you need it? You live in Gotham.

Time to go shopping. You're smart enough to know that while convenient, buying your gear online is straight up asking for the cops to trace your purchases right back to you if you gain enough notoriety. Though you don't feel they could catch you if they don't know who you are. But hey, you'd rather not test it. You shoot mom a text about going to pick up a new hoodie and promise to be home before dark as you head out.

Several bus rides and a dozen indifferent shopkeepers later your back on your door step with a pack full of various things that, while innocuous apart, would raise eyebrows if anyone saw your backpack stuffed with them. Good thing mom trusts you. A tiny voice tells you that maybe she shouldn't. You tell him to fuck off.

When you unlock the front door your senses are assaulted by something entirely pleasant. Salt and butter, popcorn. Mom beckons you into the kitchen and shes waving off the steam on the microwavable bag of popcorn that greeted you when you stepped in. "Hey honey, been a long while since movie night. You in? I got redvines!" She wags the delicious red treat you and you realize you've got a choice to make that your probably going to making again and again.

>Redvines? That's practically blackmail, of course I'm in.

The call of the cape can wait. As far as you know, they'll always be crime in Gotham. But you won't have movie night forever. "Redvines? Redvines? You're playin dirty. Alright you win, but I get to pick the movie if you haven't already."

"Ooh, too little too late son." She tosses the package of sweet licorice to you. "We're watching The Mummy. The good one."

Ah, not a great movie, but certainly not terrible either. A popcorn classic with just enough humor to counteract the seriousness of combating an ancient undead evil. Essentially perfect for movie night. "Shame what happened to Fraser."

"Damn shame." She agrees while grabbing soda for you and beer for herself.

You both set up on the couch in your living room. Still decorated in a minimalist fashion. Not really, it's just that neither of you can be bothered to put up anything when mom is playing the work horse during the day and you're being a vigilante by night. A quick search through the dvd box later your enjoying The Mummy in glorious hd. Just let those cutting edge special effects from 99 sink in.

Mom sips at her beer and chuckles at Beni's cowardice. Who just deserts in a time like that? That's back when they would just hang you to save bullets. "So I never asked, how're you feeling at school? You comfortable there?"

"Oh it's fine. Just the usual problems with school y'know? Food there sucks, the teachers range from alright to incompetent and I'm pretty sure they haven't payed for grounds keeping in years." You pause for a moment. "On the upside, there's an indoor swimming pool."

"Ah the wonders of public highschool. Well, semi public. Still, I'm glad to hear your adjusting well. You make any friends outside of Dick?"

You frown for the barest part of a second before you remember. "Yeah, I met this girl named Artemis. She said her parents picked that name in the hopes that she'd take after the goddess herself. Dunno what that's supposed to mean but I think it's a kickass name, like being named Thor. That's your legal name. People have to call you Thor."

"So a girl huh?" Of course that was her only take away. She giggles at your expense. "Artemis, greek goddess of the hunt, the wild, child birth, and the one people often forget- virginity." She swishes the alcohol in her glass. "I can see why a parent would name their child that way. Hope the name gives them strength." She smiles, a real smile, but pained. "It's sort of why we named you after your dad. Though it was more like we named you for you grandfather. That man was made of stern stuff."

There it is. But you're ready now. More ready than you've been before at least. "Hey, why do you think it was so hard for dad to find work?"

Her brow furrows while she tries to recall. " Well, Morgan. He used to be a...

"He used to be a dedicated military man. It's often difficult for ex-military folks to get jobs when they're out you know? People put them in a box and act like they're not good for anything but shooting a gun and barking orders." Mom downs the rest of beer. "But we both know he wasn't the man people would assume he was, he was so kind, always so calm, always there when you needed him. No matter what."

I'm not really watching the movie at this point, just listening to mom, watching her. "You know he would always be there for your birthdays. No matter how long he had been away before. Movies and tv tell us that those married to someone with an active military career should be prepared for lots of lonely birthdays. But he always came. With a present, cake and a smile." She's watching you now too. "When he decided he'd rather be home more, with us more. I thought- I married the most wonderful man."

"You did. Dad was... he was something else huh?"

She nods. "One of a kind. But so is his son."

You grin. "Flatterer." Then you turn your attentions back to the movie just in time to see the beetle crawling around under the fat mans skin. Yeesh. "So, you guys met when you were young right? I forget the story sometimes."

Her smile is fresh now, free of bitterness. "Oh yes yes, high school. I was the nerdy chick with a mass of curly dark hair that covered her eyes and he was sports star." She snorts. "We could've easily been the subjects of one of those terrible teen romance films that were so prevalent back in the day. I feel like I was always on my way to a lab. But your dad could've had his pick of sports scholarships. Followed his father's footsteps instead."

You never knew too much about what your dad did in the military but you eventually grew old and smart enough to know he saw combat when he wasn't home. But no matter where he went or what he saw or did. He was always the same dad to you. You look back up at the movie and see a zombified crowd accosting the main cast. Where does the time go?

"While were on this subject Morgan. Have you given any thought to life after high school?" Oh boy, she's got that look in her eye. That look you've only really seen on the rare occasion you were allowed to tag along to the lab and watch her work.

That's the question isn't it? You can vigilante it up all you want but in the end, you still go to school during the day. You're going to graduate someday. And you can't pays the bills fighting crime. Unless you're a cop. But if you wanted to be a cop than you wouldn't be doing this. Ugh, it's all kinda wraps around itself in your head but bottom line is. You gotta have a dayjob. You're not Superman,

"Absolutely. I've given it quite a bit of thought. It's a bit risky, but I think it's an untapped market." Her eyebrow quirks up with interest. "Clown College." You say, completely serious in tone. You even wave your hands as if to say- ta-da! This earns you a soft pillow to the face.

"Pssh, you've certainly got the aptitude but I'm afraid your overqualified, Morgan." She is clearly amused so looks like she's right.

"Okay okay, but seriously? I haven't given it much thought, I mean- I've got a couple years of high school left right? So I'll have something by the time graduation rolls around." You narrow your eyes at the tv, watching as Fraser guns down undead soldiers. "Besides, the only uni worth going to in Gotham is a total party school. Up in the oh so 'trendy' Burnside."

"Ah but their programs and professors are legitimate." She pauses. "You are the only highschool kid that could complain about going to a loose college, you know that?"

"One of a kind remember?"

"Mhmm, unique is not infallible son. Best to remember that."

"That's fair. Besides, I plan to live off my fame when I graduate. I have a confession to make. I'm Batman. Feel free to bask in all my urban legend glory."

She laughs between a mouthful of popcorn. "That's strange. I'm almost certain Batman would remember to do the dishes."

You wag your finger at her. "Ah, Unique. Not infallible, remember?" And you earn another pillow to the face. And when you pull it off your head you see mom fishing for something on the coffee table.

"Now is as good a time as any. Here." She extends a folded sheet of paper to you and you take it.

"Whats this?"

She pushes up her glasses before continuing. Going all business. "If you're going to get serious about your future, let me know. Because I can start pulling strings. But only if you're serious Morgan. With this kind of school, you get in or you don't. But it would go a long way for your education."

You unfold the sleek brochure and get an eye full of a gothic style G and A together on a crested shield. Gotham Academy.

Sleepy said he'd probably just be straight, which I'm fine with.

I'd rather him be bisexual, personally, since a bisexual male protagonist in a quest is rare (or at least I haven't seen many of them) and would be a nice change of pace.

Full gay would be fine, but I'd prefer bi.

(And yes, I quite like the idea of Dick and Morgan being a cute teen couple, but I don't think it'll be likely. At least, we need to interact with him more before it's a possibility.)

Mom has a way of saying things that stick around in your head like no one else. Gotham Academy. You'd heard of this school, to be sure. You had your chance to apply before but you'd just let it slip by, Mom couldn't possibly pay the bills for a school like that and besides. A place like Gotham Academy is for students that have more than a loose idea of what they want of out life in terms of education and occupation. And you... well your grades have always been high. You've always just kind of coasted through school, you weren't about to complain about not being challenged or anything.

But maybe you should change that? Mom was real serious about this opportunity. Said she had strings she could pull, but only once. And once you're in you had better take it seriously. But that's just it. Do you want this? What would you do given the kind of higher education that GA would give you, and then lead you to? You'll think on it at lunch.

Your day here at Brentwood has almost settled into an automatic routine for you. Before you know it you're out of your seat in class and standing around in the lunchroom. You don't even look at the long lines leading to the conveyor belt like wall of lunch ladies, the smell of sub-par food wafting through the air.

No, you focus on finding a seat so you can enjoy the sandwich you made last night. Navigating the crowds has always been easy due to your height so you spy an empty table. Though as soon as you do it's taken up by none other than your mysterious friend, Artemis.

You've been meaning to find a moment to chat anyways. Making new friends is healthy and god knows you're bored during the day so looks like it's social time. You find your way over to her and plop down your backpack in the only other chair left at the table. She actually half jumps at your unannounced presence, though she relaxes when she sees it's you. "Oh, Morgan. We finally meet again."

"Yeah, you know how the beginning of the school year is always pretty chill? No teachers want to give out real work until kids can get back into the groove?"

"Totally."

You claim you seat as you talk. "I got no such mercy coming in at the middle of the year. Got packets of make up work as thick as this table."

She opens her mouth to respond but just yawns. She looks a just a little worn out. "Mmm. You seem to be doing just fine though."

You unfold the foil off your lunch and set it aside to grub. "I'll live. What's up with you?"

Artemis has got a plastic ware bowl of homemade food herself but she just plays with the edge of the lid. "Long night, I'm in the archery club and practice is murder."

Nodding as you set into your lunch you try and remember how to interact with other humans your age. It's been a little while.

>So you lived here your whole life? In Gotham?

"Is that what uh- you're 'friends' wanted to talk to you about?" Could be completely unrelated, but still.

"Unfortunately. I have plenty of practice so I've got a leg up on the other girls." She looks down into her lunch. "Never thought it would get that bad though."

Okay, wrong subject. "So how about that stuff with the Justice League huh?"

She perks up a little at the mention. "Oh! Yeah that's really something isn't? All that power on one team. I'm not sure what could challenge them."

"I know right? Living in Metropolis I would hear about Superman non-stop. Superman stops a bank heist. Superman fights off metal monster. Superman destroys meteor. The guy is unstoppable alone and they've got Wonder Woman, Flash. Shit, Batman too."

She finally cracks open her container and starts to dig in with a plastic fork. Smells good. Though you have no idea what it is. "I was hoping he'd show up for the thing. No ones gotten a good clean picture of Batman. It's why people that don't live here don't even think he's real."

Right. Now that you think about it he definitely want's it that way. Makes him scarier. Unknown. "Something tells me the Bat is more than a little secretive."

"Ooh, and that magician guy. Zatarra? It makes you wonder what he can do, right? With the kind of firepower the Leagues got if he makes the cut then maybe his shtick is more than just that."

Magic again. Well, stranger things have happened.

You feel a buzz of excitement alight in your body as you wait for sundown. Mom called in about being at work through the night so your going to have the house all yourself, and more importantly. You're free to come and go as you please. Work keeping her isn't all that uncommon so she'll give you the space you need to not got caught.

As the sun sets, you set about donning your homemade costume. It's humble. But you made it and bought what you needed with your own savings so it's yours. When all is done. Your set up with a tall set of combat boots, thick and heavy. Pants made for outdoor use, tear resistant and will help keep you warm during these Gotham nights. A plate of makeshift armor (plate of metal from the junkyard) slipped over your undershirt. A hoodie to help conceal you, and to retain your signature look. And a jacket to layer up and of course, some style points. Even the big name heroes know that style is important. You covers up your hands in boxing tape to spare you from shredded knuckles.

You check yourself over in the mirror before setting out, making sure everything is where it should be. Zip ties for the unlawful secure on your belt. And Batman's communication device is squirreled away in one of you inner jacket pockets. But when you go to slide on your snow mask your struck with an idea. You take you boxing tape and wrap it around your head and face, like a burn victim. Or a mummy. And leave ample room to breath and see. When you're done, you throw your goggles on and take a step back to look at yourself.

Not bad Barret. Not bad.

Then you're off to your night job. after flying on up to a building on the taller side you whip out your phone. Robin messed with it for you. Something every growing vigilante needs, he said. It's an app that essentially acts as a police scanner. He had to plug your phone into his gauntlet to give it to you so you're like a hundred percent certain that this is illegal.

Oh well.

Let's see what's on the menu tonight.

>Bank robbery? Sounds real intense though. You heard gunfire over the officers call.
>There's a raging apartment fire nearby. The fire department is giving it there all but it's burning hard. You can see the smoke from here.
>Apparently there's a fight going on in the huge park a ways from here. Unknown assailants vs cops. And something else?
>There's a break in at one of Wayne Tech's buildings. And it's not exactly quiet either.

>>1566638
Okay, okay you can do this one. A big fight in Robinson Park between unmarked assailants and the GCPD. It seems that SWAT is on the way so it must be a real party. And an officer mentioned something over the comms, although vague as hell. Claims there's something in the park with them. You don't know about that. But what you do know is that you can help soften up the bad guys for the good guys.

Without further ado you begin your flight to the park. You're still not all that fast but it's still faster than just trying to run over. Besides, you don't have the Batmobile so you're just making due. You levitate your way over the buildings of Gotham at a reasonable rate. And just when you're getting tired you sport the park, and the fight. And the fire. Oh boy.

There's a large formation of squad cars on the park grounds, and an even larger concentration of officers taking refuge behind them as a hail of bullets rains down from a good distance away. You need to settle down in the darkness among the trees of the park before you can see them but there's a group of about a dozen well armed guys here on the other side. And they aren't garden variety thugs. You don't have be an expert to tell that given their cohesion as a group and how well they're equipped.

You ghost your way between trees and bushes, getting closer and closer. The fire is closer to the unknown gunmen so it's getting harder to stay hidden but the firefight with the cops keeps them occupied.

And then the ground shakes.

A few of the gunmen start screaming about something before the ground rumbles again and something, you don't know what, erupts from the ground and whips into a couple of the gunmen- knocking them flat but not taking them out. What in the world?

>Whatever it is seems focused on the gunmen, start taking down the ones whose attention is divided.
>You should try and preserve your unknown presence, take em down quietly.
>Wait, maybe you should observe some more, see what this thing is.

I wonder how Morgan's powers will grow and possibly evolve as the quest goes on.

Obviously, finer control.
>>
>>1566804
You're powers are good for more than just saving you from taking a hit. They make you light and quiet, and given the shit going on around you that means you're practically a ghost to these men. Let's take advantage of that. In your half dusty state you scamper up the tree you were hiding behind and go from treetop to treetop until you make your way over to a tree right above the head of one particularly distressed gunmen.

He's watching his buddies get manhandled by that thing from underground and is completely focused on only what's in front of him. Excellent.

You separate your hand from your arm and float it down to tap him on the shoulder, he wheels around and actually shoots. Damn. This close up the crack of his gunfire actually surprises you. Good thing that can't touch you.

Dropping down, you harden your arm and crash the people's elbow on top of the dudes helmet, he goes down with a grunt and tires to get up, albeit slowly. So you just give him another whack and he stays down. You leave him and ghost your way on over to the next tree and you end up behind two gunmen who are laying fire into the whip like thing squirming around. Ech.

Time to try something new. You float up behind the first one and he checks over his shoulder just in time to get a fist to his half covered face. You hear his eye shield shatter as he goes down and you turn over to the second one, who turns on a dime himself and fires into you. Your dusty from ripples a little at your center of mass and the sensation of something passing through is strange but you're unharmed, he won't be able to say the same. You take your stance and deliver a kick of your hardened leg into his side.

What actually surprises you is how the gunmen is lifted off of his feet and lands on the ground groaning and clutching his side. Wow.

But without the gunmen keeping it suppressed, it lashes out towards you lightning fast. Shit!

It'd be easy as fuck to do it in a way where we had to kill the joker in 'self-defense'.

You think Gotham PD is going to really question that about the Joker?

You think a jury of 12 sane individuals is going to put the man who killed the joker in jail?

Batman can be as buttflustered as he wants. He can't go beating up people who aren't criminals without tanking his reputation.

On reflex you hold your breath and the tentacle thing passes right through you, though that much of you being disrupted feels... weird. But now that you're so close you can see now. It's a big thick vine. And once again, you've thrown yourself into some shit. It snakes around on the ground, presumably searching for you. So you do the only sensible thing and get the hell away from it.

Though you notice that when it stops searching it then moves on to showering dirt onto the fire near the center of the park. Ok then. You move on from the plant and let it do it's business, swooping across the dark ground and trying to stay hidden as you cut a path across the park.

You finally come upon a couple more gunmen, but you can see something's off immediately. Scrambling up a nearby tree again to avoid staying out in the open you observe. The two gunmen are standing nearly shock still in front of a man sized hole in the ground. They've lost their face masks and their eyes are half glazed over, and while you can hear the firefight continue they're aren't joining their allies. Something's off.

Then you see what.

A woman, and to be perfectly frank you're not afraid to admit she is absolutely red hot. She rises out of the hole gracefully while standing on a similar vine that attacked you and beat the mess out of some of the other gunmen. She steps off the plant and steps with a kind of fluidity you'd associate with ballerinas and models. Her hair is a deep deep red, almost blood red. And her skin, is just about as green as the plants she no doubt commands. And she ain't modest. That's for sure.

As she walks past the men she inspects their faces and scoffs. Ok, crazy plant lady is tearing through these guys and doing... something to them. And you can hear the gunfire petering off. You should be smart about this.

>Try and take down plant lady, she doesn't look so tough and you've got the element of surprise.
>Just knock out the goons, they might be shooting at the police but they're victims of hers now too.
>Maybe back off? You don't know what you're dealing with here.

They may have been assaulting police and doing god knows what else but as far as you can tell they're being controlled by the jolly green stripper over here. You might as well liberate them. You wait until the green woman moves back towards the remains of the fight before you make your move. You float down, levitating above the ground since you're not certain how the plants track you.

Once again, you end up behind the both of the gunmen guarding the hole without notice. You're either getting very good at this or you're just lucky. You'd like to think it's a good combination.

You begin with a swift kick to the side of the first ones helmet. Again, the face mask is broken and your opponent crumples. Hell yeah, you should learn how to do this to your whole body.

Then your other opponent swiftly turns on you, almost robotically he shoots through you again and again. The first guy stopped when he saw his bullets passing through you ineffectually.

So you run up and slam your fist into his armored gut, but it barely fazes him as he tries in vain to stab you with a combat knife. And you know what. This guy has been dead silent, not even a grunt. You eventually put him down but it takes a few punches and when he finally goes down he does so like a goddamn rock. Aw hell, you need to check his pulse, this is too much. You kneel down and put a finger on his neck, okay. Your clear. And just a moment after you confirm it you're half blinded by harsh light.

"You are surrounded! Get down on your knees and put your hands above you head!" Shit, the fuzz caught up.

Well, they can't have you. Rather than try and float off at a jogging speed you break into a sprint on foot. You hear the command repeated behind you only once before they open fire. You'd be shocked that they indulge their trigger finger so easily but after a firefight like that you really shouldn't be. But man oh man are they not keen on letting anyone involved with this slip away. Police sirens blare behind you as you make for the edge of the park, they are totally rolling through the park grounds to run your ass down.

As you and the squad cars impeded by the trees approach the wire fence on the edge of the park you grin with anticipation. You've been thinking about trying something like this! The squad cars screech to a halt when they get close, as the officers driving them must think they have you boxed in. Instead of stopping or slowing like they all expect you to, you pick up the pace for the final leg of your run. You feel the occasional bullet whiz past you, and through you, as you head straight for the fence.

The cops keep up their command all the way up until you are inches away from the the fence, then they go silent as you run through the damn thing. Your half dust form flowing freely around it until you snap back into a more corporeal form. You can't help but laugh as you run into the dark alley beyond the befuddled cops.

You think you'll take that one as a win.

Pretty much everyone fears the Batman right now. At this point in time even Gordon has healthy suspicion of Batman. And it wouldn't be the first time he beat up a teen.

Not like he even needs to worry about public opinion, he does what he thinks is right and all the flak for any action he takes goes onto his crime fighting persona. It doesn't matter if people hate or fear Batman.
>>
>>1567717

I mean I also don't think Batman would have such a gay crush on Joker that he would consistently go find the teenager that killed him and beat him up just because that's kinda evil.
>>
>>1567728
He'd just kick the shit out of him if he resisted. Then lock him in prison for murder. Same thing if Morgan killed any of the Batman villains. It's not that Morgan killed -this person- but because he killed a person. He doesn't like that.

In regards to how people would react to him fighting Morgan. Morgan doesn't exactly look that heroic and he is literally a walking dust cloud. People in Gotham would probably trust Morgan just as little as they trust Batman, especially considering Batman at the very least doesn't kill people.

It'd be that "us versus them" mentality that infuses everything. Sure, he only killed a villain this time, but what happens if he decides he needs to kill lesser threats to stop the crime, too? That sort of argument would pop up. It'd be a seemingly inhuman killer versus a freak in a costume with weird gadgets beating people up.

Irrational people.
>>
>>1567759
>Then lock him in prison for murder.

Batman doesn't arrest people and throw them in jail.

The cops and the judges do that.

And they certainly don't do it to people who kill in self defense.
>>
>>1567783
Wouldn't be hard to get Morgan into Arkham. Especially considering the ENTIRE JUDICIAL SYSTEM OF GOTHAM is corrupt as FUCK. Even if they wouldn't normally, someone would say "Oh, hey, it's that guy who fucked with my criminal enterprise before, I think I'll call up my favorite judge and get him put away.".
>>
>>1567783
>And they certainly don't do it to people who kill in self defense.

The way you described it doesn't sound like self defense.
>>
>>1567790
Yeah I've been altering it to fit better and better with what will give us the least issue.

A self defense killing of the joker is the best way to go about getting rid of him permanently with the least hassle from the justice system or Batman.

>>1567789

So what you're saying is that Batman would love the joker so much he would work with the corrput Gotham judicial system to ensure we get sent to jail unlawfully?

Or that he would forcibly shove us in an insane asylum illegally despite being mentally stable, locking us in with several dozen super powered people who might want to kill us?

Neither of these versions of Batman sound like good people. And I don't think Batman is that extreme, evil and insane in most of his iterations
>>
At this point, I don't care that we totally stealthed away from Ivy, I care that she probably knows that her vines just got punked by someone who can go ghost.

For superman who was a tyrannical ruler and there was no other recourse to deal with him.

And that was fucking after the One World government got overturned and Batman was pretty much the new guy in charge.

Currently, in our universe, Batman beats up thugs and either escorts them to arkham or blackgate or leaves them for the police to handle.

But speaking of Injustice, yeah, wouldn't it be great if Joker didn't get Metropolis nuked and made Superman go crazy?
>>
>>1567835

They don't have eyes.
>>
>>1567839
Yeah, and let's start killing every villain that shows up. That sure won't bite us in the ass when the Justice League brings that up in the board meeting.

Sure, Deadshot might like our ability to snuff people out by breathing us in, but let's just NOT.
>>

Rrrrriiiight. You need to stop saying dumbass shit now, okay? Stop saying "Ahurr he lubs the Jokerrrr" like an idiot. It's annoying.

Batman is straight up a shitty person, who has poor judgement and a stupid dogma. I remember the time Batman fought Wonderwoman because she was harboring a fugitive and she didn't even know it, and when she did she didn't back down so neither did he. He's too stubborn.
>>
>>1567863

I stil ldon't see why that means we shouldn't kill the Joker. I don't think Batman will do shit if we do it in self defense.
>>
>>1567870
Because nobody wants to cross Batman. Forgiveness isn't the issue when the man doesn't give two shits about us yet. And stop trying murder anyone you assume is gonna pay us any mind when he has BIGGER things to do.
>>
>>1567880
>Because nobody wants to cross Batman

That's honestly a really stupid fucking reason.

In that case, if you really think Batman is a shitty person then we should work against him anyway since you have such a low opinion of him.
>>
>>1567870
He was willing to beat the shit out of WW for being honor bound to harbor a fugitive. He didn't because he got his ass kicked, but he was fully willing to fight someone for just having a criminal in their household since they wouldn't let him in. Sure, if she let him take her she would have been killed, but even if she wouldn't have been she still would have said no to Bats, because that's how SHE is. And he would have still fought her anyway because that's how HE is.

WW did literally nothing wrong and he threw down with her, straight up murdering someone in his city would be well enough for him to fight Morgan.
>>
>>1567889
>straight up murdering someone in his city would be well enough for him to fight Morgan.

Not murder.

Self defense killing.

And what could he possibly do that would constitute being straight up evil after it has already happened?

"YOu killed the Joker in self defense. Now I'll ensure corrupt courts send you to jail unlawfully via political manipulation."

"You killed the Joker in self defense. Now I'll beat you up randomly."

I mean, do you imagine he'll beat us to death? Or just randomly beat us up every so often?

Maybe he'll financially ruin our mom with his political clout as Bruce Wayne?

Like how vindictive is Batman going to fucking be? We're not talking about a "just due" anymore if its a self defense killing. We're talking about vengeance for the Joker's death.

That's not dispassionate justice.

THat is passionate vengeance.

WHich begs the question? WHy is Batman trying to avenge the Joker?
>>
>>1567886
Do you not suppose that we, in character, aren't stupid enough to try fighting Joker in the first place? Do you not think we are smart enough to think "I'm not gonna go looking for the Joker, but maybe if he attacks I'm still just gonna dustcloud the fuck out of there"?

We just started doing this shit, don't try fighting an endgame boss when our scrub ass is still getting used to our powers. Focus on fighting thugs who rob gas stations, not highly dangerous people that attempt to demolish half of Gotham daily.
>>

This is a hypothetical happening at some time in the future.

Who knows if we'll ever be in a position to kill the Joker or how powerful we'll be.

I mean if you refer back to the post that started this >>1565306

You can see this isn't some advocacy for something we should plan for or do in the immediate future. As of right now we don't even know who the Joker is so I don't expect to be in a position to fight him at least for a long while.
>>
>>1567897
>self defence
I don't think you even comprehend that if the Joker wants us, he'll find ways to do so and keep us from getting away.

We'll be lucky just to escape, forget about killing him. Just stop, no more posting your fantasy of killing the Joker. Heroes don't kill anyone who attacks them, and the ones that do don't last long.
>>
>>1567897
>Batman has a "no killing policy"
>even when the Bat family is being stabbed and brutalized he doesn't want them to kill anyone

>thinking he will give a shit in what circumstance you killed someone

Straight up no. If there is ANY other option he refuses to let anyone die. And moreover, you think he won't know we killed the Joker on purpose? Morgan has every advantage over the Joker, you don't just "whoops, I sorta kinda killed him a little" on accident. And that would STILL piss off Batman.

Because Batman is the most stubborn asshole in the world. Second to you of course. Just shut the fuck up already. I'm done with this argument. It's a stupid fucking idea and you're a stupid fucking person. Jesus Christ.

>>1567897
For one, self defense is kind of a flimsy excuse when our ability to be significantly harmed is a semi-non issue with our power. By that logic we should also have killed those guys Morgan just fought.

Also no matter how much you try to say the 'we should do it in self defense' plea we know what you are really saying is to murder him.
>>
>>1567917
>no killing policy

>>1567918
>semi-non issue towards physical damage

both good points, especially when Batman probably knows we can disintegrate ourselves into a dust cloud.

No fucking way he doesn't put two and two together and figures out we could just get away in the first place.

Now, I'm done trying to reason with Trick, no amount of actual logic seems to work with him. Instead, I'm going to devote actual intelligence towards thinking up new ways we can use our powrr creatively. Luckily, we are very much like the Ash powers the dude in Infamous Second Son uses.

I'm thinking dust bombs to disorient and distract enemies, by clogging their breathing just slightly with our dust.
>>
>>1567918
Well yeah I'm saying we should kill him when its lawfully self defense. If not threatening to kill us we could do it when he's threatening to kill someone else who isn't invulnerable to guns and bullets.

>>1567910
Yeah the situation probably won't come up. Definitely not easily.

>no more posting your fantasy of killing the Joker.

Dude its a comic book quest. This is nothing but fantasy.

And plenty of heroes have rules about killing that aren't purely "never kill"

>>1567917

He'd probably be a little pissed but I don't feel like we need to be best buds with Batman at all. And there very well may be a point where Batman is off somewhere else while we're facing the Joker alone. Probable? No. Possible? Yeah.

And I don't think we need to go non-lethal on him, especially if he's threatening to kill people or is in the midst of actively attempting to kill us.

I think you're being really rude.
>>
Oi, faggot. Archives where?
>>
>>1567949
suptg.
Like always.
>>
>>1567942

I think you're just mad that I respond to your logical assertions with other logical assertions.

This weird need to actively hate me as a person is really starting to get annoying.

Like attack my argument if you have a problem with it but I'm not calling you a gigantic dumbass every post because I disagree with your logic.
>>
>>1567949

Sup/tg/ you dumb cunt.

How about we try and keep this board positive unlike everywhere else please?
>>1567967
Thank you for keeping your head and being polite Trick.
>>
>>1567918
>By that logic we should also have killed those guys Morgan just fought.

And by the way, yes actually.

We were well within our legal rights to kill all those guys. I just don't think we should kill every single thug we run into, but those dudes were shooting bullets at fucking police officers who, guess what, were firing back.

If the police had managed to shoot those guys and killed them I don't think Batman would have been that mad.
>>
>>1567980

It should be obvious where the archives are.

Plus, the first thread is still up on this board.
>>
>>1567967
Are you done trying to get the last word in?
>>
>>1567980
>faggot
>being negative

It's just a word. Hell, from the amount it gets used the meaning of the word is so diluted that it's almost pointless to use the word. Calling someone faggot is essentially saying "dude".

Besides, dumb bitch was asking for it. Everyone knows at least one archival service. At least. Most people know two. Relax, the moment you try to police speech in a place like this is the moment everyone hates you.

Think you guys are forgetting that one comic storyline where joker was put away for murder, that he actually didn't do this time, and for his one phone call he rang batman. Batman got the joker off of a murder charge because he didn't do it. No mention of any of the other people he's killed though.
>>

I just fell asleep sorrs.

Quality shitposts trick, keep it up.

Just dust bomb, even without our dust will be great. If we're in a cloud of dust, nobody can follow our movement. Our blow will come out of nowhere even for someone who knows our power.

I'm not a big fan of "messing up with breathing" exept if we're fighting a really powerfull ennemy. Too much risk of accidental killing or, worst, in case of loosing control, letting a peace of us in the resporatory system of a thug - wich will lead to a lot of problem.

Our weakness to electricty is a real problem, taser aren't hard to come by and we can't really become isolated since we "dust away"
Even with a full rubber suit our inner body is accesible.
>>
Does morgan have a mask? and what colors is he?
>>
>>1569636
We were going for a mask of bandages like Kukri, but with a main use of our power making our face and head kinda Nazgul-ish.
>>
>>1569636

Right now we're just rocking boxing tape on our face.
>>
>>1569677
>a main use of our power making our face and head kinda Nazgul-ish.

I love it.
>>
>>1569773
We sure do have style, even as the base level.

Continuing on weapon, do you think of something usefull ? We can turn ourselve in an effective blunt weapon. Sharp and piercing can be quite deadly.

Tazer fist ? Turning our own weakness against the enemy ?
>>
>>1570013
Maybe powder based chemicals? Like capsaicin and other things?

Or maybe ropes and chains that appear around people with no lock or knot to come undone due to our power fusing the ends together.
>>
>>1570372
>Maybe powder based chemicals? Like capsaicin and other things?

Smoke bombs and gas-related stuff.

Taser gloves, too, if we can get them.
>>
>>1570372
I don't know if we can change the density of other things like that, morever to change their shape.
We can do it with our "stuff" because it's part of our own image of "ourselves" but we can't turn a wall into dust... otherwise ennemy wouldn't stay armed for long with us around
>>
Robin is gay for justice
>>
>>1570636

Robin is gay for the pussy.
>>
>>1570595
Perhaps we could grab onto something and make it dust away. Like a gun could dust away and appear in our hand or elsewhere.

Would make chain of evidence a bitch though.

We should start calling Robin Cock.
