Welcome to Tribes Evo, a game where you take control of a tribe and evolve it culturally, technologically, and historically through time. We will have new tribes, a new map, and (some) new rules.

Previous Threads (please read if new): http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?tags=tribevo
Discord: https://discord.gg/r36b7By

New Players Guide:
>Every turn is a new week
>Every turn each tribe can do two researches, and as many actions as there are population
>Research - Laws, Technologies, Arts, Customs
>Action - Trading, Hunting, Scouting, Organizing
>At least one player per tribe, no upper limit on tribe members
>Actions and researches must be agreed by majority
> Please read sheet to verify 1) whether a tech/culture has already been researched and 2) whether OP fucked up in updating sheets

Other Mechanics:
> Combat (NPC) - one commander per tribe, RP your battle with given troops
> Culture - After exposure to other cultures, rolls can be made to determine how foreign cultures can affect your civilization's society
> Nationhood - Once a tribe reaches 1000+ population, they are eligible for nationhood. They will then need a constitution, flag, currency, formal military, and more than one town. The constitution MUST include established geographic borders, name of your state, and governing body.
> Economy (Only when a civ researches currency) - One a civ implements a tax, there will be a stream of income to your treasury. You will be able to purchase additional actions with this income. Too high a tax, however, will affect mood.
Other things:
> I am going to attempt to run this with no dice rolls whatsoever. Whatever you scout around you is what you get because of location, not chance.
> Regarding the map: Keep in mind, I tried to give enough space between civs without being totally separate. One tribe should reach another within one turn. I also wanted to introduce diversity in biomes. Hence, as they say, 'suspend your disbelief'
> No team switching this time
> Not going to add new tribes, these four are it
> Throw on a name if you’re playing
> Discord not required unless you are warring. No secret turns.

Bears live on the north island among the cool snow and stars. Due to their fur, they blend in nicely to their environment and become fearsome prey. Though omnivorous, they prefer meat. Their claws are very useful in combat and crafting.

Monkeys live on a sandy, tropical island. They have recently come out of the jungle, enjoying the sandy, warm beach. Their tails are very handy in swinging, holding, and climbing. They eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and small animals.

Goats live on a volcanic island recently teeming with life. They find a fascination with obsidian developed from a nearby volcano, who some claim is a great spirit. They like to eat. A lot. Their horns are well used in mating and combat.

Pigs are land mammals that love to eat too. They are settled near a waterfall. The waterfall holds a great importance to many, and some even claim all the world's water comes from there! They have tusks that aid in mating and combat.

Everyone has 45 tribals with a +1 per turn rate. They start with no knowledge, shelter, and entirely as hunters and scavengers. With that, I will wait for first turns once every tribe has one.

Might as well post.

The monkeys scout around their island. The only natural predator they face are snakes. They are wild animals, not sentient like the player tribes. Occasionally while swinging, a monkey grasps onto a snake mistaking it for a vine, upon which point the snake rises up and bites the poor chimp.

Other island resources not found on the others:
> Sweetroots
> Bananas
> Coconuts
> Large Leaves
> Oranges
> Toucans
> Vines

The monkeys set out to stockpile these immediately. Very helpful for when they have more resources to scavenge.

I dont know if I mentioned it, but the continent will have more useful resources, such as ores, wheat, and mounts.

Nice, pigs start with seeds.

Let's start out with discovering agriculture. Maybe we'll delegate the females and guys without big tusks to be farmers.

A healthy stockpile of seals, fish, foxes, and rabbits accumulate. The polar bears dig cellars below their igloos to store these animals for later eating, noticing that the climate is well suited for preserving food, allowing them to not hunt as intensively every week!

Carpentry and woodcarving is pioneered! The bears use their claws as intricated knives, carving among other things, bear figurines, statues, spears, doors, etc. A bear totem is one of the better projects they have done, placed in the center of the tribe! It serves as a nice meeting place.

The bears enjoy woodwork and carving very much, and begin to attempt carving on rock and ice too. This is a slower process due to how much harder the material is, but they find they can defiantly do it AND use the smoother rocks to sharpen their claws too. They create stone axes picks and more artistic sculptures , adding to the pleasant expressive aesthetic of the tribe, as well as allowing them to harvest and carve faster without hurting their claws

>Research 2: Mate more often with skilled bears.
The females are impressed by skill and strength of all kinds. They begin to chisel out a large area under the village , bolstering it with wooden beams on stone supports and carving little holes in the roof up to near the surface (but not completely) & then polishing the ice to allow natural light in. They store sculptors and food stockpiles down here. It also doubles up as a pleasant relaxation and community meeting place so they don't have to go round to each others house and knock to socialize. The Council Holds meetings down in these Icy decorated Halls

>Research 1: FIRE & optics
Ice sculptists have long noticed how light bends and twists magestically as it passes through thin ice. Some have used it to improve their sculptors appeal by allowing it to play with the light, but for the most part this was viewed as a neat quirk of ice. That was until the most recent competition where a previously unremarkable youth crafter called Icecap Newton came along with his seemingly simple sculptor of a decently sized concave circle and some wood. He then proceeded to position the sculptor so the light passing through it was refracted and focused onto the pile of dead wood. First it smoked, then it sparked, then it burst into brilliant hot tongues dancing in the air, melting the other competitors hard work. The crowd roared in amazement at this incredibly phenomenon, some out of fear of witchcraft, others in awe....Needless to say, he got ALL the bear vagina that night (shaman included)

> Research 2: Martial arts
A new style of fighting has emerged amoungst excited bear youths. Inspired by the power of sumo wrestling but finding it crude as it's just pushing and grabbing. They cover up their claws with skin to prevent fatal injury and fight with swipes and swift movement. Staying on their paws they can float their weight around gently to remain nimble and evade attacks before tossing their weight and strength suddenly, crashing into opponents. This new style is called Bear Paw & has also proved effective at efficiently killing prey when claws are incorporated into the devastating blows as well as avoiding injury in return. The Council hunter takes notice of this and orders an exhibition match for the tribe at the next sumo event, to display the skill and power involved in this new art

Research: Snake handling. Trapping and dealing with them, so we can capture and keep snakes without being bitten.

Research: Food storage. Drying and curing fruit and meat to save for later, along with a better stockpile building made of twigs.

Action: 5 Monkeys become snake handlers, keeping them far away from the toucan eggs.

Action: Some monkeys begin to search their island for other resources, stone, structures, anything to be found besides food.

Action: The Monkey council orders the construction of an aviary to keep the toucans in and promote their breeding.

Polar bears invent a form of paw to paw combat they creatively name Bear Paw. Only the biggest hunters and athletes practice Bear Paw.

Fire is developed from carving and manipulating ice to act as a lens, concentrating the sun rays on a piece of dry wood and burning it alight! As a result, they can cook their preserved meat!

Finally, they dig up a communal underground cavern that connects to the igloos on the main level, indicated by the dotted area.

Action: Gather more wood.
Research: This morning, one of the eldest goats had something to tell the tribe. He had a dream, one from the gods themselves. Firstly, he begins to explain the nature of the god, as apparent to him is his dreams. There is one true God, but many, smaller godlets, made up of the fragments of his life. Each one watches of the lives of all living creatures, noting their actions and determining their ultimate fate. Each godlet has its own realm, all islands a mighty archipelago, which the souls of the dead go to. The godlet of hunting would take the souls of those those that hunt, to his fertile island teeming with prey, for example.
The gods are formless, always, they will never be bound to a single form, and so drawings, sculptures, or other forms of idolatry are strictly forbidden, a simple stone monolith will indicate holy areas. (For it to be considered a proper holy area, the monolith must be at least 2 goats high, but preferably 3)

Research 2: Secondly, the ultimate God has spoken, (a very, very, rare occasion, as every godlet has its own agenda and shit) telling the elder that this island is not the home of the goat people. This is all he said to the elder. Goats begin to look for ways to leave the island, starting with hollowing out logs to use.

They will need to set up a base here if they want a constant supply of the materials. They don't take any with them as the effort would kill time they need to return home where water and food is plentiful.

Goats begin their great migration across the channel onto the mainland. After setting up camp, the hunters go out once more. They find new resources, such as barley fields, groudhogs, and -- another tribe! They see signs of grazing and find the docile sheeps, timid but very peaceful and cultured, even practicing their own version of sheep music. They are quick to recognize your similarities and their inferior numbers and decide to join you!

Dried food and backpacks make exploration of the mainland possible at further distances than before!

Monkeys learn to make coconut oil, applying it in their skin for protection and some foods to make it tasty!

A series of folk tales turn into a moralistic religion for the monkeys, telling them to be intelligent, enjoy life, and be peaceful.

Orangutans tell you they do not venture in the desert, preferring the coasts. Their ancestors had come from northwards down, but they do not know why or how to get back, and even if they did, where? Thus, they hugged the coasts, catching whatever small insects or fish they could.

Five scouts venture into the desert. They almost fall into a crevice-- filled with riches! Limestone, copper, and coal are rich here. They return with their findings of the weirdly painted cavern, waiting for the wisdom of the monkey council to instruct them next.

They establish a settlement at the Orangutan camp! The green belt stretches in both directions, greatly increasing their food income!

They discover fire after continually striking stones. They create a written script etched in wood.

Maybe refining council roles to each being in charge of sectors of society, so the hunter would take charge of war, create a new role to be incharge of agriculture & hunting (food crops fishing meat etc), combine the sculptors into a crafting leader, make a new role for wellbieng of the people (medicine, education, confyness), & make a formal religion for the shaman to be in charge of? atm it's very wishy washy

Upon discovered 2 more possibly hostile tribes ,the bears are worried. The lion's & sharks will need to be dealt with, but there's now a further threat of bighorns.
Since the bears are peaceful they're going to try a peace offering for the 3rd time, but this time with more caution. They send 40 troops to make camp a mile from the bighorn camp & send 10 to offer a carved peace symbol & some tomatoes to make friends with the bighorns.
IF they say NO & prove to be unfriendly, fall back without losses, then at night, all troops move in & execute them all in a similar fashion to the lions den.
IF they say YES & prove to be friendly, Throw a feast, & warn them of the lion threat, & get them to help with Action 2

>Action 2: Build a wooden spiked barricade sectioning off the lions (Pic related)
With the threat of the lions & sharks (& possibly big horns) , the bears are sick of people's shit. They send most an additonal 100 working bears ontop of the 50 (& 25 bighorns if they're peaceful & agree to help) to build a spiked wooden barricade encircling the mountain, using large sharpened wood & carved statues, with the spikes dipped in poo to make it more likely to kill or seriously hurt those trying to cross it, they create a barricade to protect the bears, prevent any new threats from entering the mountain range, & giving the lions only 1 route to go, out of the mountain range.
This should also prevent easy encroachment into bear territory while we recover, & they defiantly shouldn't even notice since the barricade is at least 10 miles away + they are busy strip mining the mountain

>Research 1: Add new roles to the council to improve War & Cooking.
Cooking & War are viewed as Art forms as they develop, so a master chef & general are added to the council.
The Chef encourages bears to boil & fry in oil food, allowing them to eat usually unedible things such as bone marrow, skin for crackling & to reheat leftovers from the fridge chambers, which increases the food uses and availability throughout the tribe.
The General is the current best strategist, increasing army effectiveness when it groups & encourages martial arts to teach defense against all manner of weapons such as sticks,
picks, slings(how to evade, use weight against others, how to break weapons, redirect projectiles & disarm once close)

>Research 2: Leather & leatherworking
Tailors begin experimetning with the materials of their craft & learn that shaving skin, peeing on it, powdering it with ground stone & drying it in the sun repeatedly, makes the skin much MUCH tougher & more versatile. They then attempt to use their tailoring practices with this new material to see what things they can make (Bags, improving armor, leather rope etc)

Bears add the roles of war and cooking to the council. The general allows for increased army effectiveness, while the chief chef allows for an increase in population growth rate from his mandate to boil inedibles into edibles.

They offer a peace offering to the bighorns. Their offerings are received greedily. They promise to leave you alone granted you leave them alone and stay off their turf.

A wooden skied barrier is being constructed. The bighorns don't help due to lack of interest. All the logs are used initially to build a small section in the northwest. Log production is also reduced to construct a little bit of the barrier every day.

Action 2: Scouts notice the massive migration of goats who the bighorns have joined & are now marching into the mountains, they tail them from a distance to get an idea where they're going & if they'll be a threat

Action 3: Bears expand reorganize & expand their current farms

Research 1: New weapons to combat the lions & sharks
Heavy bows of thick wood & leather , with with sharpened stone points & Large tower shields for the bears backs. Bears are strong & both of these weapons will only be good if the wielder is extremely strong to pull the string back & carry the shield.

Research 2: Spy Bears

I'm pretty tired of dealing with Jackals, so we're not gonna let them even be a thing anymore.

Researches/Cultural Developments: 2 Allowed
-Tech: Invent Copper Jewelry. We'll try to boost the happiness of our pigs with some fashion.
-Tech: Research desert tracking methods. We'll get better at tracking trickster jackals in the desert.

Actions:
-Desert Wardens:
*Patrol The Desert and make sure that The jackals don't get a chance to regroup anymore. If they surrender then let them get imprisoned, but if they keep at some kind of guerrilla combat just kill them.
*Don't bother looking into the abandon jackal camp for anything, just burn it down and salt the land. It's probably filled with traps anyway.

Methods of tracking in the desert are researched. It involves observing damp ground, shifted sands, and lost debris. They are able to track down the locations of one of the moving jackal camps. They are all guarded by jackals in camelhide wielding bows with a limited number of arrows. The melee targets only have staves. They seem to wandering south and west to target other unfortunate civilizations.

Desert Wardens tell them to surrender. After a quick skirmish, some cowardly jackals beg for life and offer information on the other jackals if you let him live and don't cut his hands off. You have him imprisoned for now. Do you trust him?

*Maybe look over the caravan we ambushed to see if there's anything useful there.

-Sailors:
*Take The Prisoners to The West Island where they can be totally separated from The Desert and trapped on the island.
*Chaperone The Prisoners around and introduce them to the luxuries of The Pig Tribe.
*Dress them in Twine Clothing and Copper Jewelry, introduce them to Alcohol and let them go baptize themselves in The Waterfall.
*Most of all though, teach them about our culture, our language, religion, ect. And without a doubt take the opportunity to learn about their own culture. Do they have a Religion? Do they have any traditions? What's most important to them in life? We'd love to know everything.

Voyage & Expeditions:

Research 2: Leather Bandages/Improved first aid

>Action 1: March 230 troops in small groups down the eastern coast (to avoid detection) to a camp east of the goats
The General has decided that the bears are under too much threat. The sharks & lions are bad enough, but now there's a large army of armed goats marching into the mountains. This could be a serious threat, and unlike the lions, these actually KNOW about the bears due to the bighorns. It's time for action.

>Action 2: Nighttime raid on the goats.
Then at night 20 bowmen will be positioned up hill at the exits of the camp to pick off stragglers & fleeing & the rest will storm the base and kill them all , taking a goat, sheep, gazelle & bighorn captive. by the time the goats realize what's happening & can respond they should have taken enough losses to be vastly outnumbered & the bears will have the upper hand due to more armor & weapons, plus military experience and training.

>Action 3: After the battle, take all crops, food supply, the new obsidian material, hide waterskins & atlatls as these are all useful & come home. The lions don't know about the bears yet, but it's imperative that after wiping out this new threat, the bears return home with the spoils quickly, just in case.
>>

Just to clarify The night time raid has 20 archers positioned uphill at the exits to the goat camp, while 210 fully armored, martial arts bears raid them at night, hopefully killing quite a few before they wake up, making retaliation pointless once they realize what's going on. Bears make shields and bandages. Shields take up wood to make; if they want to order their crafters to make more per turn, it will cut into their wood gathering.

Troops are marched near the goat camp. The camouflage troops sneak inside, snapping many goat necks before enough were inside that goats were bleating in alarm and pain. When they awoke, few goats tried to ram their horns into the bears, but were only able to injure three while triple the number of attackers were killed by incoming regular infantry bears. The rest galloped out in a huge herd. Archers were able to pick off many goats as they were bunched together, but fortunately they were able to climb up steep paths bears couldn't access and a decent number of refugees were able to escape. The goat population was decimated; six unarmed civilian goats of each race are help captive alive at the camp. The only ones able to escape the wrath of the bears are thirty goats, and three mating pairs each of gazelles, sheep, and bighorners. Their infrastructure is completely gone, and they graze off the land, having minimal growth rate.

The bears manage to salvage their food stockpile, chests of obsidian, seed deposits, and wheelbarrows. The bears manage to return to their camp quickly enough to find a stonebrick tower a few mountains away, armed to the teeth with lion archers and some sort of large ranged device.

Throwing chakrams are created from copper. They require a lot of skill to throw, but when done properly, can be lodged deep into a tree trunk; the damage can only be imagined for a living person. There is a chance the chakram will be damaged after being thrown.

The Jackals are investigated more. All they know is that they have no formal army or allegiance, instaed wandering the desert, scavenging and stealing from settlements, and are masters at traps and camouflage. Jackals come to steal fruits and clothing from the baboons. There are few, if any, incidents of murders caused by a jackal.

Pigs look inside the caravan. They scavenge the food, including some new seeds, and a stockpile of copper spears!

Fertilizers and the new seeds boost pig population growth.

Pig Latin is invented. After teaching it to some of the civilian jackals, they tell you they are wandering thieves, liking to steal from you and other western civilizations to sell wares east, to a large wealthy civilization at the lower river. The city is heavily walled, guarded, and incredibly rich in ores. They are racially composed of desert lynxes and river alligators, along with a tiny minority of fortunate jackals, baboons, and gazelles.

Prisoners are tied up and escorted to the west island, where they are introduced into the pig culture. The pigs learn the jackals are mostly out for themselves, believing the riverlands to be their own long time ago until the oppressive lynx and alligator coalition stole it from them. They now are trying to take back the city by elevating some jackals into leadership positions inside the city. Thats all they are willing to tell you for now.

Goats make more picks, mine deep, and create support structures for their mine, allowing them to access and gain a nice stream of coal and copper.

The farm's expansion allows for more goats born per week.

Sneaky goats are trained in hoof to hoof combat.

Bears make a production room and plant more trees to create a huge number of tower shields. The stealthy bears, after designing and constructing telescopes, scout the lion tower, identifying a spot near the tower where the stone construction created more cover than necessary. They send shieldied bears to that area, allowing them to divert archers to waste arrows in that spot, while brave bears ran to charge inside the door, braving fiery debris and holding formation until they were near the door.

The turtle formation bears managed to reach the doorway, casualties related to lions dropping debris and throwing axes in well targeted areas. The rest of the bears, 150 total, swarm the tower when the archers retreat to battle the brave 50. One by one, lions leave the entrance to be mauled to death by the bears. When it seemed the tide turned, lions emerged from around the tower camp loading a large bow sitting on a wooden platform. The logs were shot out, laying down tens of bears. A brave enough bear, Orsinicus, managed to lay his life on the line and charged with shield in front of him, using his massive strength to swat away a log and throw his weight at the machine. Destroyed, the lions were on life support, some scowling at their orders to retreat when it seemed all was lost. The tower is now the bears!... at the price of 49 bear lives, but still!

Pigs are sorta happy they get their mango sugars at the price of jackal labor. Jackals feel like they're not getting their fair say in what they want to do; namely, coin trade. Wait, you guys don't have gold? What about silver? No money at all? What am I supposed to trade these stolen-- I mean handmade dyed silks for? Food? This place sucks!

The Desert Wardens scout around for the threats the monkeys speak of. They see that the leopards are reinforcing their camp with wooden palisades, bowmen patrolling the top. They can't make out the interior from outside the camp. From a distance, it doesn't seem that the Leopards are doing much but growing. Perhaps expansion is inevitable?

Monkeys make another wall tipped with copper points and mass produce weapons, emptying their copper, limestone, and now existent wood stockpiles.

Relations seem amiable with the pigs.

All the weak civilians are route to the south island for safety.

Scouts are sent north on camelback. They find the jackal encampment ruins, now covered in sand. They think there are some leopards in the distance mining out a quarry of stone for their new camps. The others are sent out, finding the leopard camp. They see what the pigs see, with the added observation that the leopards seem to not use fire during the night-time. Perhaps they are able to see in the dark?

Miners: 25%
Cooks(double as diplomats):10%
Craftsmen (blacksmiths, tailors, tanners, etc): 25%
Obviously subtract military goats from the available population pool.
Action: Send the commando squad out to recollect the seeds we collected on the migration trail, along with trying to find the weird pink oinking creatures along the way, while avoiding most other creatures.
Action: half Miners dig deeper
Action: the other half build a a series of hidden, winding tunnels that connect to all the houses in the village, and hidden exits far outside the village. The tunnels will be full of dead ends, traps, and other fatal deterrents to those who don't know how to navigate it. Viet Cong style. All civilians are taught how to navigate it.

Action 1: ransack the tower for all lion corpse equipment, any tech, food stores and the large siege bow. If any lions are still alive, take them to a prison chamber for lockdown, removing fangs and claws as is the usual practice

Action 2: after clearing the tower, set it as a bear outpost, with scouts and spyglssses at the top and extend the bear wall borders

Action 3: send spy bears with spyglssses to scout the current lion territory and dens , bears want to know exactly what they're dealing with.

Action 4: celebrate the lives of those who gave theirs, the lion defeat & securing of bear land. The celebration will have food, martial arts demonstrations and many arts to immortalise the dead, adding their statues to the defensive walls

Research 1: improve agriculture with plowed fields and crop rotation, increasing yield

Research 2: basic engineering

Research: Nets made of the viney rope we have.

Research 2: Advanced gold metallurgy. We want pure shiny bright perfect gold with intricate details.

Action: Make 30 of said vine rope nets, with netting close enough for the next action.

Action: In the early morning just before the sun comes up, we send 30 Camel mounted Monkeys with nets full of snakes riding toward the Leopard camp. The snakes should be calm due to the time of day, at least until the Monkeys begin spinning the nets over their heads and attempting to throw them over the wall of the new Leopard camp.

Additionally, 50 spear and shield wielding Monkeys will surround the Leopard camp to besiege them, capturing any who come out and binding their paws with vine ropes. 50 sword wielding Monkeys support them to ensure they aren't overtaken, and another 50 Monkeys stand ready with chakrams. In total, 150 soldier siege Monkeys and 30 camel-mounted snakebomb throwing Monkeys. Our goal is to force them to come out to us so we can capture them or subdue them (using chakrams to disarm as melee weapons if necessary) when their water and medicine stockpiles grow low. Ultimate goal is to force the Leopards to engage in diplomacy with us as equals/betters and not prey.

Action 2: Start making golden jewelry and trinkets that we can bestow upon the best storytellers, most agile fighters, most clever thinkers and overall most wise wisemen. We want to reward excellence with bling.

Bears improve agriculture and create a ballista.

They ransack the tower. The find tons of scrolls in some sort of scratchy script. Who knows what kind of dark secrets it contains...

They also find seeds of some new crop.

Spy bears observe the lions from afar. To avoid discovery, they sit on the edge of a camp sitting in the path of a road that is followed down until it ends at presumably the tall mountain. The town has low stone walls and four ballistas positioned at the corner towers. The back of the town borders a cave used as a mine by the bears. You do not know what materials they mine.

A celebration of victory raises mood and birth rates.

Monkeys learn how to create gold jewelry, improving their mood incredibly! They develop nets to store snakes in and throw them inside the leopard camp. They succeed in coaxing the leopards to leave! Upon leaving, they find them between the snakes and the spearwielding monkeys. They manage to have them outside with minimal casualties on their side; the first few leopards are killed by monkey chakrams, the next realizing their fate fight back, and when the dust settled, the final leopards trickle out, realizing they are overrun, and surrender. You take 25 leopard captives, and lose 35 of your own to the leopards charging out in anger. The city is yours, though overrun by angry snakes.

The aviary and snake pit are also elevated, but the stable remains on the ground level. This may take multiple turns.

Pigs learn Bleatish in a trade, and start developing a script written in wood runes.

The Wardens are assigned to keep the peace. They do not find anything of interest this week.

A road is being built from Baytown to the Cave.

Four sailboats are constructed at the bay. Sailors take them east. By the end of the week, the sailors reach the other side of the bay, where they encounter a tribe of warthogs! They are very cheery and hairy, and enjoy seeing the cross pig coalition you have, offering to join its ranks!

Traders offer alcohol, sugar, and robes for silver. They will agree to give silver if you give them enough food to stall your population growth rate to (+13) per week. Hey, they need to survive down here too! They have not developed a concept of currency.

The cookout features a new goat dish: Rabbits dressed in date sauce with a roasted carrot in its mouth. The concoction starts the pig-goat relations quite amiably!

Stage plays are formed, increasing mood. Bats also enjoy the tiny pig with the big turtleshell helmet, though they don't understand whats happening at all.

The voyage to the central island yield results! They find many rice paddy fields being operated by pandas! The pandas also have resources to make paper and sugarcane, as well as battered steel. The rice crop is one of the three 'superfoods', giving a +5 population growth boost once planted, and +2 for every improvement of it following. The other two are located on the shore of the bay. The pandas have never met pigs before, and surround the sailors, asking them to come with them to be imprisoned until the panda king knows what to do with them. Will you obey, or will you fight?

> obey

The other sailors try sailing into the savannah river. The river flows out into the bay, so they are forced to walk. They find the upper deltas are so infested with alligators, that they have created a small village on wooden houses sitting upon stilts! A prison of warthogs sits in hanging cages, waiting to be glazed and roasted for the alligators to eat. Bears improve engineering and education with MATHS. Construction methods are improved, and time to complete structures is decreased provided resources are available.

Bears develop a variety of roped weapons. The stealthy scouts use these to take down lion patrols going down the roads. During the first three days, they are successful in bringing in at least fifteen dead lions, but the rest of the week proved the lions were onto them and heavily guarded sentries were passing by on large carts and with a rotating ballista in one and four lion archers in the others.

The dead lion captives increases their lion related clothing and armor, but yields no useful documents. Its speculated the soldiers do not know how to read.

They scout the eastern peninsula, and come across a kingdom of apes near the base! They have migrated from the jungle, and have made great use of the rich wheat fields near the peninsula's base. They also have knowledge of iron weapons, masonry, and chariots drawn by horses rich in the peninsula. Wheat is one of the three 'super foods' that grants enormous bonuses to population once acquired, but the apes are clever and have stockpiled the resource so none exist in the peninsula except in ape hands.

The lion matriarch has been calmed enough to not exhaust herself fighting and able to negotiate cleverly. She offers the bear leadership a deal where she will divulge information about the lion-wolf coalition threatening you in the west if you free her and her son on a boat east. She deeply distrusts you, so she wants to be physically boarded on the boat first, and then she will write the full records in Roarian. She offers her son as a hostage until the transaction will be mad, wooden runes for son, whereafter she will sail off into the distance, never to be seen from again.

Finally, a military academy is installed. What, do the bears want BEARY BEARY good martial arts? I mean, come on. Who are you competing against? jfc

Monkeys develop an appreciation for the stars, linking shapes to mimic those of the monkey folk tales of old.

Gold coins are used as a source of currency.

The loft project is accelerated with the use of limestone. It will still take another two weeks.

The leopards are bruised heavily by orangutan troops. Some manage to bite the orangutans, happily strengthened by the taste of their blood. Others grow silent in defiance, but obviously wear defeat on their face. Their opinion of you has not changed.

Reports come back of an army of leopards, some 150 strong, surrounding the Orangutan camp, and equipped with large flammable projectiles they will launch over with large stone oars. A captive monkey capable of speaking Ooka comes forth. He tells you that they demand that you release their leopard companions in exchange for respecting monkey territory as follows on a map to be uploaded on the anchor. They also want a breeding pair of monkeys so they can create their own prey for hunting. If you fail to accept the terms, they will siege your town and eat every last one of you and burn your town down.

The Sailors shall accept The Panda demands and become prisoners for the moment.

Researches/Cultural Developments: 2 Allowed
-Tech: Invent Military Chain of Command. As it's becoming apparent that bands of desert jackals aren't our biggest threat, we need a military that can keep up with the demands of organizing big military operations.
-Tech: Invent Siege Protocols. Since we've been mighty screwed over in the past by The Jackals when it comes to sieges, we'll better adapt to people playing dirty. Perimeter Traps, Harassing Sling-men, Routine Watches for runaway enemies, ect.

Actions:
-Desert Wardens:
*Abandon Turtle Shell Armor and put on Chain Mail instead.
*Bring themselves over to The Gator Town along with all 30 of our local Warthog Huntsmen.
*Enforce an aggressive siege. Chop down the stilts from underneath houses to cause collapses.

-Masons:
*Start creating deep Limestone Wells in Swineburgh to lessen our dependency on The Oasis

-Traders:
*Sail out towards The Central Island to investigate The Sailor Disappearances. Since Pig Kidnappings isn't exactly a new thing we'll bring Silver with us just in case we gotta ransom them back.

Voyage & Expeditions:
-Just transport The Traders to The Central Isle so they can try to break out some diplomacy.

Diplomatic Actions:
-Offer to teach The Bats how to speak Pig Latin so they can understand us when we put on plays.

>Research 1: The Beary Best martial arts!
The bear society is reaching the peak possibilities of physical combat using their bodies, with complete masters of bear paw finally emerging. Engineers have used maths to calculate the strength required to shatter bones in 1 blow & have found that all bears have this level strength by the time they leave school, meaning even though they can counter attacks, redirect weight , movement & dislocate limbs, they honestly don't need it unless they are against extremely large powerful foes (such as other bears). The very best bears have freakish abilities in terms of power, proving their strength in dazzling displays. They are able to repeat this bone breaking feet with a simple 1 inch punch, fell a tree with one colossal axe like swipe, and crush boulders with godly bear hugs. The tournaments are very rarely bouts of 1vs1 combat, but 100 students in a row against the masters as a feat of incredible endurance, agile enough to dodge projectiles and a few have been known to catch them mid flight and durable enough to smash weapons against themselves without injury. Through their training of constant drills, philosophy , technique and tournaments they have finally mastered their craft of hand to hand combat, & general drive to be the most skilled, bears have become almost unbeatable in a fair melee fight, and extremely deadly regardless of odds if they can get into range.

>Research 2: Bath houses
Bears use engineering, masonry, metal piping & hot coals to create large bath houses, complete with hot, public & cold baths, as well as saunas. They are intricately decorated with nice bamboo, wood & rock gardens & relaxing private areas making them extremely pleasant socializing & leisure This cleanliness improves bear hygiene, sex appeal & bear standard of living. There is 1 bath house in each town & bears like this

Action 1: After this round of goat rams & libearians, the bears stop breeding with the captives after finding the offspring are infertile. They instead get the captives to mate with each other in controlled conditions. As this is more natural, the newborn goats, bighorns, gazelles & sheep should all be born at a much faster rate. They will be taken at birth & integrated into society as bear citizens.

Action 2: Since the gorillas seem evolved & peaceful, a diplomatic party takes offerings of intricate statues & an offering of tomatoes to the gorillas, as a peace offering to show common ground & that there's no ill intent. The diplomats will attempt to communicate that bears are peaceful & wish to co-operate and trade supplies & services.

Action 3: 20 stealth bears will sneak behind lion town & set fire to as much as possible using water skins containing oil, and sparking stones against their metal rope darts and logs of wood. 30 archers will hide near the exits & with the 20 bears, kill the escaping lions during the chaos, starting with the archers at the top who scramble.

Cont.

>>1620965

Action 4: using the scouting information from the past week, 200 bears + the 12 hybrids sneak around the back of the main lion town & break in. Using rope darts to kill any archers & secure key points quickly. If alert goes out, fire will be started to create chaos. They should be able to kill a lot before the lions can react, as well as free black bears to help their cause. The night time military will be distracted by the lion town event & the main city should have very lax defense. Once The main city is secured, 50 additional army troops will rush to lion town & assist in killing any troops who have scrambled to help put out the fire at lion town & who haven't been killed yet, while the rest comb to make sure they've not missed any pockets of infantry or lions.

The night time assault + scouting knowledge, bear stealth + master martial arts should make combat a surprise & very very deadly.

Action 5: Capture lions & scavenge all lion tech + materials once the battle is done & the lion threat is wiped out. If the wolf leader is found, capture him.

Since this is a really long post, to clarify
> uber martial arts
> bath houses for health, sex and happiness
> open friendly diplomatic relations with gorillas
>stop making hybrids, make normal species more quickly and raise as bear citizens
> night sabotage fire attack on lion town as a distraction
> full night ambush invasion of armoured martial arts bears on main lion cit using scout knowledge and stealth guard takedowns( nighttime, troops are split/ unprepared, release bear captives)
>loot town and take a few captives, Wolf if possible

The time has come. Inspirational speeches aside.

Research: Copper shields reinforced with wood and hide, adorned with feathers.

Research: restructuring of professions. With the growing need for weapons and armor and construction, the Council appoints smiths to combine the efforts of crafters, builders and weaponsmiths. They are tasked with training apprentices and this quickly spreads to other professions.

- Farmers (toucan and snake and camel tenders, gardeners and growers)
- Smiths (crafters, builders, metalworkers and weapon smiths)
- Scouts (hunters, foragers, camel riding nomads and recon units)
- Miners (miners and appraisers, coin crafters)
- Dervishes (aerial/acrobatic soldiers)
- Council (sages and fools as usual)

Action: produce copper shields

Action: produce more copper spears

Action: Arm 250 Monkeys with shields, spears, swords and chakram and march on the Leopard encampment. The hostages are brought to ensure we aren't attacked, and we offer our return offer. We will free the hostages, the Leopards will free their hostages, and then we will ratify our borders. Any suggestion that Monkeys, Baboons or Orangutans are prey will be treated as an act of war. If they are amenable to these terms we will share with them a source of prey they have yet to discover.

Should they accept, we will tell them of the Pigs.

& to even further clarify, in terms of getting in, the lions will have a large wooden gates somewhere. Between bear strength of 200 + goatrams, they should be able to break through pretty easily considering they smash wood & bone anyway, their claws pretty much make their attacks like axes & not to mention using meteor hammers whos job is it to smash shields. They can very quickly break their way in. It may wake a few of the citizens, but the night military will be pre-occupied with putting out the fire in lion town, so by the time the bears break in, it'll be a few lions just waking up, dazed, giving plenty of time to get started killing before they can grab any gear or weapons. By the time bears encounter armed troops beyond a few guards that can be dealt with quickly using rope darts, they'll have killed a large amount of defenseless lions & the numbers will be in favor of lions, not to mention be in melee range where our bears are super OP

Bears create 'the beary best' martial arts. Despite the rumors, bear martial arts has its limits based on the bear's form. At its height, bears can do the following:
> high tolerance to pain
> deliver blows powerful enough to break bone
> dodge incoming arrows provided they don't flood the bear

they cannot:
> crush boulders by hugging
> fell a tree
> dodge undodgeable attacks

They research copper piping to redirect mountain water into their camps, using fire to heat up the bottom of the tubs.

They try to get the captives to mate with each other under the threat of death. They all refuse. What do the bears do?

The gorillas are very cautious and noble creatures. They receive the gifts reluctantly, offering a plate of bananas in return. They allow you to set up a camp outside the walls, not permitting you to come inside for fear of larceny. A gorilla emissary lives with you for the time being, learning your language and teaching you theirs so that by next week you can develop proper diplomatic terms.

Scouting information yields that the lions are on high alert since the lone sentry raids. The town guard is doubled and barriers constructed with sharp wooden points to prevent scaling. They return to you before the siege and ask the bear leadership if there is a change in plans?

Goats begin to make darts, atlatls, and javelins with copper heads.

All miners are on foxhole duty. A few fear going to far west or north because they are certain that the bears and lions will hear their mining if they are too close. What should you do?

A stone monolith is erected, with a copper pyramid ontop.

Fishoil is created, and along with beer, helps raise goat moods and population growth rate.

Copper shields and spears are constructed the 250 monkeys go out are structured as such:
> 110 spear and shield monkeys
> 25 sword and shield monkey
> 25 sword monkeys
All of them has at least 1 chakram.

The leopard tell them that if not the monkeys, they will certainly hunt pigs. They tell you that as the pigs are on the opposite side of the border, you must either kidnap and sell them to the leopards, or lease territory to the leopards, at which point another negotiation for borders must be made.

Pigs invest in military tech this turn.

The Desert Wardens don the chainmail armor in stead of the turtleshell. They make their way over to the Alligator Camp. The siege will not happen without them, so it will begin next turn.

The bats learn Pig Latin to understand your plays.

Traders on the Central Island try and negotiate with the pandas. The pandas view this as hostile tresspassing, and hold these traders as hostage, confiscating their 'gifts' as well. They are very careful. Your prisoners manage to pick up the local panda bear growl and understand that the pandas are interrogating you; they are very interested in where you came from and why you are here. The Panda King seems very paranoid of 'demonic invasion', which the pandas are convinced you are, evidenced by various attempts at divine banishing on you.
