The Raiders – Part 20

The Dome where the Conclave is being held is similar in design to that of the dueling arena, save that it possesses a psychic circuit in the center that amplifies the natural telepathy of the githyanki into something that can be heard across the entire amphitheater. Already there are githyanki gathering, individuals and cadres alike, including a number of dragons and their companions. Most of the dragons have taken humanoid forms, solely for the sake of convenient seating; others retain their draconic shape, looming over the back of the higher seating areas or coiling and lying across the smooth stone at the lowest seating areas.

You fly in at a more standard speed than you are actually capable of; no reason to advertise anything out of the ordinary, after all. The capability is nice to have of course – surprise being a valuable weapon – but you also want to see who is present. Some of your allies, a few of your enemies, some of those who owe you much, and another few who owe you debts. Hadal is there, the shock of platinum blonde hair and the human countenance making him stand out as always; in the center, Dunzamn and his blade Voorsi, along with the ancient dragon Jacinth, her true name a mystery to all but the highest of knights and greatest of spellcasters.

You've never had a reason to research her name, but it might be wise to do so. The debt you'd acquire might be high in the process, but the power of a name cannot be denied.

None of the others of your cadre have arrived just yet, leaving you with time to prepare, mingle, or seek audience with other githyanki. Siobhan sing-murmurs to you in your mind, an eager, bloodthirsty little tune that is both soothing and promising in it's nature. Says something about you, perhaps. Still, you have opportunities, and there is some time to be had, a couple of turnings at least.

[] Go see Hadal, inquire about his Cadre.
[] Seek audience with Dunzamn, see what his plans for the conclave may be.
[] Call in a powerful debt; you may need resources soon.
[] Fulfill a debt of your own; you don't want to leave too much unfinished.
[] Settle4 down as let others see you as approachable.
Siobhan considers the latter option your best choice, as it gives you that mystique of confidence and aloofness that serves you well.

>Akko, like all her kind, has a measure of psychic ability. She will simply use most of these powers without prompting, instinctively, when appropriate. Her spells are another matter.
>She is a high ranking Gish, and may give orders to low ranking Knights; mid-ranked Warriors; high ranking Spellcasters, Skulkers, and Murderers; and any Gish lower ranked than herself.
>True Silver Sword: Siobhan
Siobhan offers her opinions and advice on matters when a vote is called for, drawing on Akko's potent intellect and voicing subconscious thoughts for her to consider.
>Current Spell Selection
Slaver Set Enhanced (Marauder) – heavy subdual and mass combat, moderate utility, moderate defense/buffs + a few really destructive spells.

>Current Cadre:
Yzia: Adult Solar Dragon, lover and companion. She may carry Akko and four others.
Falna: Mid-ranked Warrior (Unstable position); Class:Slayer, bound by Oath.
>Silver Sword: Malnae
Yashi: High-ranked Illusionist (Your Spellcaster); Class:Illusionist Wizard, Bound by Oath only; you have a Not-Silver Sword for her.
Tzanzi: High-ranked Murderer (First in Command); Class:Pureblade Slayer, Bound by Oath and Friendship.
Auena: Mid-ranked Gish (Yzia's new quarry); Class:Psychic Warrior, bound by Oath.
Schechei: Mid-ranked Gish (mated to Falna); Class:Magus, bound by Oath, due to receive her Silver Sword soon.
Kteine: Mid-ranked Gish (your adoptive daughter and acolyte); Class: Psychic Warrior, bound by Oath, due to receive her Silver Sword soon.

>Akko's Current Supreme Leader
Dunzamn, a Lord Knight with a True Silver Sword (Voorsi), leader of the Raid upon the Elven and Human Kingdoms of Iridaiya and Boggsteading, respectively.

Hi XS! How are you?

>>1615492

Question, QM, would we have the time to do "Fullfil a debt of your own." later if we do another option first?

He who pays back his debts grows richer. It'll close a loose end and give one less reason to try and pursue us for someone powerful enough for Akko to be indebted to.

But on the other hand, it's maybe not the first impression we want to give today.
>>
>>1615518
More than likely. It would be impossible to fulfill them all; likewise it would be impossible to have all yours repaid. You have had centuries to build this network of favors owed and to be received; no one is without some of either.
>>
Rolled 6 + 20 (1d20 + 20)

Newly augmented Sense Motive!

Also accepting suggestions for slave preferences (Princess and MILF both already noted).
>>
[X] Settle down as let others see you as approachable.

Rather than a lower or higher seating, you chose one more towards the middle. This gives you good vantage while making it clear you don't want to put yourself above or below others, as well as encouraging your Cadre to arrange themselves around you, as opposed to at your back or in front of you. It doesn't take long before you receive some notice from the small assemblage of githyanki; Hadal gives you a salute, though he doesn't seek you out; several of his cadre have shown up, and he undoubtedly has much to say to them (telepathically or verbally; the path of a psychic gish was one he chose wisely).

It doesn't take long for the first githyanki to approach, nor is it a surprise that it is someone who owes you. Lywedra is a lovely githyanki, a warrior of no small note, though she hasn't a Silver Sword of her own. You took pains to rescue her from a raid against the enemy that had gone badly, and though you consider the debt minor, she has other ideas about it. With long hair braided tightly and full plate armor designed by the best of the Smiths, she makes a striking figure, moving through the Astral fundament in a high arc to slowly float onto the platform just below you.

She salutes you and Siobhan murmurs something obscene and delicious in your mind, which you dutifully file away for potential use on someone else later, much to her amusement. “No need to be so formal, Lywedra; I am not your leader.” She nods, smiling as she rises to sit on the seat/platform just below yours, and you lean on Siobhan's hilt, her blade obscured by her sheath still.

“Nevertheless,” she murmurs softly, her voice sultry and her brown eyes gliding over you appreciatively. Your new look – longer hair, muscles more tones and sleek – required you to redesign your own half-plate armor some. It is no less gorgeous and baroque, but some additional enameling and a few gems to accent the sapphires in your hair and the ruby of your eyes was appropriate you think. She seems to like it. “I have heard you have put together a cadre already....I was wondering if I might offer my own services should any take their leave or be indisposed?” She smiles shyly, but you aren't fooled at all: Lywedra would be perfectly happy to duel or assassinate someone if you suggest a potential target.

[] Explain that your Cadre is quite a bit more full than Yzia prefers already.
[] You are already relying on Falna's assistance to ferry, but if she were to find an alternative....
[] Ask her how badly she desires it; doesn't she already owe you....?
[] What would her Leader think of her making such negotiations?

Duchesses are great, too.

Mmmh, we don't really have a nerd woman, nor plump woman...

Having a lady knight could be great, too. Big, tall, strong and noble.

Or maybe a refined noblewoman who still can fight. On on the other way, a Barbarian lady.

Someone who enjoys or at least has no problem being Akko's slave from the get-go would be nice.

On other things, maybe a thief or burglar sentenced to death or to horrible torture who's just happy Akko provides an alternative?

Or someone who's already a slave (maybe a tiefling or an human) who just prefers Akko to the pure monster her previous master was? Would be fun if Akko foiled a bad guy's plan to take over with her raid.

Dunno what's your policy on dwarven women.

All of the options on the second part are supposed to be in green, sorry for the confusion.

Oh, also, for the slaves: Queens are good, especially if Akko manages to woo them without abusing them.

Would Akko sleep with a vampire?
>>
>>1615598
I'd imagine queens might be at a premium. Not that I doubt Akko could acquire one if she took an interest of course.
>>

>nor plump woman...
Nor do we need a fatty. We've already got a thicc warrior in our cadre.
>>
[XX] Tsk, tsk, tsk. Naughty Lyw, trying to slip into your good graces like that.
[X] Ask her how badly she desires it; doesn't she already owe you....?
[X] What would her Leader think of her making such negotiations?

Siobhan's lack of a comment tells you she's a bit interested in what Lywedra has to say, so you stall for a bit of time and try and pry a little more information from the warrior. One thing you do not want to do is get her killed of course; Falna does have a silver Sword, and though Lywedra is no slouch, she isn't a warrior on Falna's level. Not to mention Schechei would not allow her to survive the assassination or duel attempt, you suspect.

Standing up, you then bend at the waist, bringing your face close to the other githyanki's; she smiles shyly, looking a touch nervous. You were her first female, and you were very enthusiastic; something about surviving near death experiences gets you very excited. You slip your gloved fingers under her chin and lift gently, tilting her face up to yours. Her lips part and you smile sweetly, keeping your spur's concealed. “Lywedra....what would your Leader think about you trying to slip their grasp before we even begin the raid? Are you trying to start a fight?” The tip of your tongue slips past your lips and you lightly lick her lips, making her shiver violently at the light tickling sensation.

“Ah, nothing of the sort, Akko! I merely....well, I owe you a great deal, and I have heard you have put together an extraordinary band....” She's hedging, you can feel it as much as see it. You've learned much since last you were 'home' about the nature of other's desires and thoughts, even unsent ones. She looks up at you, her cool brown eyes glittering mischievously. “Though, if there happens to be a sudden vacancy in your Cadre, would you be entirely opposed to my offer?”

Her Leader is Talvek; he possesses the Silver Sword Nogori. Nogori says that Talvek is the kind who enjoys lording it over his cadre. I believe she is attempting an escape from his predation. He is a mid-ranked knight, well decorated. Siobhan's information makes you smile even more wickedly. She is very ordinary compared to the rest of our Cadre. And she feels a little desperate.

….you didn't know she could probe emotions.
>>
>>1615539
Even though it would be improbable, I feel like it would be neat to enslave someone who's actually a double-agent for some other power, like Cyrillian was so long ago.
>>
>>1615603

No need to go morbidly obese, just plump/thick.

Also our warrior is only thicc by Gith standards.
>>
The issue is that you think Falna is perfectly capable of taking the lovely githyanki. Still.... “You do owe me a great deal. Nothing I can do without mind you. But it is still a debt. I suppose I could deal with Talvek for you....but I have no place in my Cadre for you immediately. And I doubt you really want to try and replace anyone in my Cadre yourself.” Her expression falls and you sit back down, hooking two fingers under her gorget and making her lean forward. Setting Siobhan between you on the platform that you pull Lywedra onto so that she kneels in front of you, you consider her carefully. “Suppose I could be convinced to....make an opening for you. How much would you be willing to give? My current Cadre is not selected by chance or happenstance, after all. I have plans and designs, as I am sure you are aware!”

Lywedra blinks and looks down, thinking hard. You use your other hand to caress her ear, glancing sidelong at an increasingly jealous Talvek. The rest of his cadre – mixed male and female, one skulker aside form all warriors – are uninterested in the going's on. His dragon rider is leaning back, his dragon taking the form of a lithe elfin creature and straddling his waist suggestively; he seems uninterested in the cadre's attitudes as well. Interesting.

When she looks up she whispers softly. “I know who your most recent daughter is,” she suggests hesitantly, unsure of how you will react. You're not quite sure how you should react; your last mating was forced by Her Majesty, and it was perfunctory, being bred by one of the Breeding Caste and leaving the egg and feral to the Breeders to raise.

Leaning closer you tighten your grip on her gorget, your other hand slipping around to the back of her neck, making her nervous. Speaking directly into her mind, you admonish her gently. Why, Lywedra, I think you are trying to make your way into my graces harder than anyone has in some time. That is most unusual....my daughter as a bargaining chip? I wasn't even aware I had a daughter. By which you mean the gender of your spawn; you knew you had spawned!

[] That isn't really one of my perversions, you know. At least I don't think it is.
[] Well, that's a start, but I'm not sure what kind.
[] Not terribly interesting. Now, if you could find out about Yashi's spawn....
[] Oh? And how, pray tell, did you come across that kind of information....THAT might be valuable!
[] Do tell. That is worth something, certainly.
[] Write in?
Siobhan is far more interested in playing naughty games with your daughter just to be perverse for perversions sake whether your daughter prefers females or males....and thinks Yzia would agree with her.

>[] But I do hope you have a little more, sweet Lyw.
It might not be her thing, but she doesn't sound so reluctant. And her opinion is outnumbered so she'll just have to make do, clearly
>>
>>1615617
I don't think we have room for her in our cadre at the moment, but we should have her seek us out before the raid is over so we can bring her in on whatever we're planning to do after. She might appreciate that more.

Like I don't think she believes she can defeat Falna in a fair fight, and especially not if Shechei is there to make it an unfair fight, and we already have pretty thorough agreements made with Yashi, Aeuna, and Kteiene, but I don't think we care enough to be a middleman for her to switch to a better Leader.
>>

>Propose her the same deal you gave Jiyua: alliance for now, and a place in your Cadre when both of you have the room for it.

>"Don't think I don't value your skills or your person, Lywedra. It just took me a lot to gather my current Cadre, for the specific goal I had in mind..."
>>
>>1615622
Do we have a real size-restriction beyond what we were able to bring on Yzia (which Falna can help us circumvent)? I'm not strictly opposed to leaving her behind, but I'm not sure we could do that while simultaneously get her off the raid on Talvek's side as well which she'd probably prefer.
>>
>>1615623

I'm all for letting her escape her shitty leader, It's just we are a bit full right now.
>>
Inb4 she's our daughter

>>1615626

It's really a "limited by transportation" deal
>>
>>1615623
>This seems like interesting advice, so allow me to lay my cards on the table, for a more fair exchange.
Interesting information I mean, like I'm not really sure she could beat any one of our cadre in a fight even if we wanted her to, and I doubt she has her own ride handy. Also wait are we bringing Rana along with us or were we just taunting her?
>>
>>1615628
Not possible, unless it was by a previous mating (Akko has five spawn running around, of which she has zero interest in as all five were required by Her Majesty.)
>>
I'm guessing we'll be bartering for her (trading favor or whatever) rather than taking, whether now or after the raid? Guy doesn't seem likely to let her just leave, and also seems to have enough power on his side to be annoying if we get into conflict with him. We are after all busy trying to avoid as much attention as we can while preparing for Akko's new career moves. But maybe putting other Leaders in their place is the kinda thing she can easily fit into her schedule.
>>
>>1615629
Well, can she make like a djinn and travel by gaudy magic bottle? If not I imagine she'll be staying, though maybe I'm underestimating Akko's dedication to punishment. Not that she'd be useless on a raid or anything.
>>
>>1615634
Sounds like a lot until you consider Gith ages. Out of interest, I can't say I've read up much on Gith (classic ver.) so is the number taken from realistic canon or made up for the quest's setting?
>>
>>1615639
It's approximately one child for every century of existence, which means she's due for another forced mating very soon.

Typically, outside the Astral, a gith would age to about 300 or so, and have about 6-8 spawn in that time.
>>
>>1615648
Cool, guess Akko gets off easy.
>>
>>1615650

She has Yzia to help with that.

[XX] Well, that's a start, but I'm not sure what kind.
[X] Oh? And how, pray tell, did you come across that kind of information....THAT might be valuable!
[X] Write in? You have some interesting things for me, but I need a little more....of course, I am not ungrateful or lacking in generosity. But there are reasons....

She looks into your eyes and smiles uncertainly, your thoughts far more hidden from her than hers from you. Your studies have paid off exceptionally well.

Talvek is now openly watching you, though more curious than angry at the moment. Another example of how your studies have furthered your understanding of githyanki. Siobhan snickers in your mind and you hush her gently and fondly, receiving lovely and not-terribly-distracting song in return.

“You make an interesting start of things, but I am not entirely certain what sort of things they are, Lywedra.” You slide your hand higher up through her hair, caressing the back of her scalp and making her shudder in atavistic fear. A slow, gentle kiss – not a deep one, merely a soft one – makes her relax, and blush rather nicely as you pull away. Talvek loses interest completely, apparently believing it is merely friendship or lovers greetings. “Sadly, I am oath-bound and vow-bound, and truly regret that I cannot disband my carefully selected githyanki so easily.”

Her disappointment and consternation are write large across her face. “However....” She looks up, hope blooming once more. “While I have no interest in the doings or in doing my daughter, I find your knowledge of exactly whom she is to be surprising. That skill could be very valuable indeed, and I would consider that a very fair trade if an opening does happen to come up within my Cadre.” She licks her lips, and you slip your fingers free of her gorget to slip that hand behind her head as well, making her both nervous and a little excited. She might not be interested in females, but there are definitely feelings and desires centered on you in her.

“Mind you, I think any one of my Cadre save the two near-childer would take you with ease, my pretty little Lyw, and I would rather not have you do something foolish. So, bring something more to the tale, and we will discuss it further. In the mean time....” Leaning in close, you kiss her, leaving her breathless and flushed, and probably quite discomfited in her armor. You lean back and take one of your personal badges off, and carefully affix it to her regalia. “If you should happen to discover any female spawn born of the Illusionist Yashi, that would be worth a great deal to me. I have no doubt she's had some, probably many. Perhaps even a male, if he is magically talented.” Bearing one of Yashi's grandchildren might be worthwhile, and Siobhan finds the idea all sorts of amusing. “So, be patient, and watchful. And who knows, if you capture a slave or two of your own, I might find an equitable trade....”
>>
You glance meaningfully at Talvek, but she shakes her head. “He determines the final distribution, I can't imagine he'd give me something you might enjoy.” She touches the glistening enchanted glass medal you have given her, your arcane mark shining within the circles of delicate material. “Still....you have given me much to consider, Akko. I am appreciative....” the lovely warrior looks up at you with a shy smile and you salute her, sending her back to her Leader.

Siobhan growls a warning in your mind, making you aware of the githyanki descending behind you. You don't immediately react, merely picking Siobhan up and leaning on her, watching the githyanki 'flying' into the dome and searching the stands and seats for allies or enemies to deal with, or simply for good seating.

“Every the consummate seducer, Akko. I am honestly surprised to see you alone here.” Lord Kohl alights behind you, his adamatine boot-heels cracking the stone he lands up with the merest shifting of his weight. You glance back, almost disinterested in the Knight's presence. The golden-brown of the brushed metal shimmers in the light of the Turning Sphere above the colosseum, and he gazes down at you, his arms crossed. Igni, this silver Sword, transmits a threatening hum, to which Siobhan sings tunelessly, drowning the threat in careless melody. Undoubtedly he's here to try and cow you, or make you nervous enough to admit wrongdoing he can pursue.

Too bad for him. He's kind of of an ass.

[] I'm not alone, you're here. What do you want, Kohl?
[] Do you need an audience for your embarrassment, Kohl?
[] What can I do for one of Her Majesty's finest Knights, you miserable lout?

[X] What can I do for one of Her Majesty's finest Knights, you miserable lout?
[X] Write in? I seem to make githyanki nervous. Are you nervous?

You give him the equivalent of a mental shrug, even as you answer him vocally. “I have little need for my Cadre to run off those who approach me. I am perfectly capable of running them off myself if the need arises. It is a strange truth that most people find me intimidating enough all on my own that they must attempt to present themselves the penitent or the powerful.” It takes a few seconds for your words to sink in and he frowns at you, which doesn't particularly mar his noble appearance. “That being said, one of your kind being at my back suggests a need of some sort, regardless of how poor a knight they may be.”

His lips twist in an unhappy grimace. “Your tongue is also sharper than ever.”

“The appealing lack of wits to sharpen it upon notwithstanding,” you reply mildly enough. More and more you get the feeling he's merely here as a threatening reminder that the knights are keeping an eye on you. Several, undoubtedly.

Kohl's effort to keep his temper on that one is quite visible. Siobhan is gleefully relaying the conversation to Yzia, who is both appalled and finding it hilarious.
>>
“You would do well to keep your sword sheathed, Gish Akko, regardless of how clever you think you are being. There are certain questions being asked, and you would do well to remember that our goodwill is important in the determination of your future.” You half turn and look up at him, placing Siobhan – still sheathed – across your shoulder. You deliberately widen your eyes, inviting elaboration. “Even with a few outliers, many knights disapprove of your power, Gish Akko. You are clever and powerful, and a fair warrior, but your nature is weak in the end.”

“I imagine that if the Master Smiths had determined anything untoward had happened to Lord Palkir when I returned his blade to them, they would have mentioned it to you.” He frowns harder, hard enough that his handsome mien resembles more of a brutal mask. “Sadly, since that is clearly not the case, I am afraid the efforts of Her Majesty's most Favored to demonstrate their goodwill is a far cry from what it could be. A terrible loss, one of your own, is it not?”

His face is actually turning blue.

“Mark my words, Gish Akko, you would be wise to refrain from your foolish games from now on. You can ill afford the enmity of the Knights.” He starts to rise, preparing to take his leave.

[] That warning is too little too late, Kohl.
[] The Knights have nothing to fear from me. People like you, on the other hand....
[] A morhau blow to his knee and dragging him close for a little one-on-one discussion isn't uncalled for here.
[] Let him leave – he's not that important or interesting.
[] Give him a little advice, for free. Important, life-saving advice.
[] Write in?
Siobhan really really REALLY wants to see him taken down a notch – he's only a mid ranked knight.

I forget, have we ever started shit with any Knight or their minions where we haven't been insulted or offended first? I feel like crying 'disproportionate response' wouldn't carry much weight in Gith society after all.

[X] The Knights have nothing to fear from me. People like you, on the other hand....
[X] Give him a little advice, for free. Important, life-saving advice.
[X] Write in? You think the knights are the only ones who should be feared?

The thought of driving one of Siobhan's quillons through his knee-armor (and she would pierce even that impossibly dense metal, which would certainly be an interesting surprise for him) only flits through your mind. Siobhan thinks it is an excellent idea, of course, which is part of why you really should not do it. But you savor the image despite that.

“Kohl.” He pauses, looming above you, looking quite impressive and dangerous in his adamantine armor, bearing his vicious Silver Sword, and undoubtedly heading his own cadre. “The most valuable organization has very little to fear from a single githyanki, when you think on it. Only individuals who choose to make personal decisions that lead to dealing with things they cannot survive need fear other individuals.”

He frowns mightily down at you, his crimson eyes vibrant and lively, and quite angry. “Heed my words, Akko, you will get what you deserve sooner or later.”

You blink mildly up at him. “Perhaps your intimidation techniques might work better on someone whose hobby is not fucking dragons or indulging in violent sex with murderers who annihilate enclaves of the enemy for her personal pleasure, Lord Kohl?” you murmur mildly. “It is very difficult to frighten someone who kisses mouths that devour gems and spill starfire, or who bear the scars of a lover that takes bites out of others for the temerity of having merely annoyed her.”

He snarls in a manner closer to feral than githyanki, but a soft voice interrupts his further words. “It is a good point, you know.” He whirls, thought moving him fast enough that his body is a blur, but the hand that comes to rest on his wrist is too strong for him to draw his blade.

Yzia's delicate fingers are shimmering silver, not living metal but almost appearing dusted with it. The bright fall of shimmering white hair glitters like crystal, the refraction spilling rainbows along her black tunic. As always her eyes are those of her natural form, save that they urn white within, the pupils showing the fire beneath the flesh she pretends to possess. “You surely would not draw a weapon upon me in full view of a conclave, would you, Lord Kohl? It is one thing to threaten a dragon, but earning the enmity of the Gish Akko could cost you much more than your standing in the community.”

The delicate body – still full bosomed, but less statuesque than her other aasimar forms – keeps him from drawing his sword at all, with no effort Yzia tils her head and looks him in the eyes, letting him struggle for a moment more. When she finally lets go, he flits off, moving swiftly through the fundament to the opposite side of the stands, as Yzia looks down at you, grinning vindictively.
>>
“You know me so well, my love,” you comment, looking up the short tunic and seeing glittering diamond curls between her legs as she looks down at you. She modestly tugs her tunic closer to her thighs, barely obscuring the delightful view, and smiles winsomely. “Azata-blood? It looks lovely upon you, though not nearly the softness I am used to.”

Stepping down, you take her hand, then yank her off balance, catching her in both arms and setting her upon your lap. She wraps her arms about your neck and shoulders and you coil one about her waist, the other pressed to one full breast as you give her a well deserved soul-kiss. Yzia moans happily into the kiss, and you relax, lost in the bliss of your lover's presence.

When you finally break the kiss, the stands are more than half filled with the conclave, though it isn't quite time yet. Already telepathic conversation is flowing to and fro, the broadcasts uncontrolled and no longer kept private, for the sake of sharing a collective consideration of the ideals of the raid. You ignore that ion favor of your beloved dragon's mind. surely you do not think I would indulge in such causal murder in such a public venue....

I scoff at the claim, Siobhan sings into your and Yzia's minds.

Oh, I agree with Siobhan, Akko. If you thought you could manage it without resorting to forbidden magic, I have no doubt at all you would have gutted him in front of his own cadre and told them they owed you weregild for it! She leans back and lifts her lg, making the tunic ride high again, inviting your eyes, and possibly a hand.

There would be nothing casual about that, you reply loftily, to their half-derisive and entirely amused laughter. You refrain from molesting your dragon quite so boldly as she settles back into your lap properly, allowing yourself only the indulgence of squeezing her soft breast, her nipple hard against your palm through the silk of her black tunic.

A sleek, youthful looking githyanki female walks up the stepped 'seating' of the amphitheater towards you. She is dressed in a simple blouse of crimson trimmed with gold, and trousers of the same; her eyes are golden, so she is in the same age range as you would be now. Her hair is long, longer than yours or Auena's plaited carefully and tied at the end with a heavy ring of gold. She wears half-sandals and half gloves, fingers and toes bared. Most interesting is that she carries a staff of ruby colored deep crystal, the tip pierced by several holes, and golden wire seems threaded randomly through them all, with no seam or tie-off point. The opposite of most staves, which are metal with crystal tips.
>>
It is also an extraordinarily powerful weapon of evocation magic, and enhanced for battle as well. She herself is almost as well protected by magics as you are, though to a lesser degree as opposed to a lesser extent. Her eyes glow faintly, powerful magical sight, perhaps more so than that which you have imbued upon yourself permanently. Hers is equally permanent. Interestingly, she possesses no magical tools that you can see, except the staff.

Obviously a spellcaster, yet she is accompanied by a next-to-naked, slender, and distinctly human female, a long haired albino creature that is frail looking, save that her eyes are exactly those of Yzia. All she wears are shimmering chains of silver, hung with gems, and they bare her body entirely. A spellcaster who is the companion of a dragon is a rarity, but not improbable. She salutes you and Yzia politely, and leans on her staff in a manner that has nothing to do with catching her breath given the nature of this place, though you might have been fooled a year and a half ago. Lady Yzia, Gish Akko, I great you in the name of Kisyet, and introduce my companion Azrath. My name is Dannae, and I would deliver a gift in her name to you for your approval.

Kisyet is one of those whom owes you greatly, and it is somewhat of a surprise that she would make an offering to you of her own volition. Still, it might be worth your while to entertain the offer. You slide your hand to Yzia's waist and squeeze her nipple firmly through the thin material, gazing at the delicate beauty. She's no Yashi, but she does have what is clearly a staff for using magic with....which is why you use the power that allows you to sense magic, and enhances your skill at battle. It wouldn't be the first attempted assassination at a conclave. Not even your own, for that matter.

[] What gift do you speak of pray tell?
[] If Kisyet wishes to appease me, she needs to do so herself, pretty.
[] Well met, Dannae, Azrath. Sit and relax a moment with us.
[] If you are here to assassinate me, there is another who has first chance at it, I'm afraid.
[] Kisyet, making a gift to me? Is the end of the Stronghold at hand?

Siobhan thinks they would make pretty toys, but she suspects that their purpose is both sinister and indirectly threatening.
Also, that you should wear something like that which Azrath wears for Tzanzi.

[XX] Well met, Dannae, Azrath. Sit and relax a moment with us.
[XX] What gift do you speak of pray tell?
[X] Kisyet, making a gift to me? Is the end of the Stronghold at hand?
[X] Write in? Yes, dear Siobhan, we'll do something nice with chains.

With a wicked sort of smile, you gesture to the platform next to you, where Yzia is facing as she sits sideways upon your lap. That does mean, tragically, you have to remove your hand from her warm, firm breast, of course, but you make do with slipping your other hand under neath the bottom of her tunic to cup her nicely toned and very firm derrière. Yzia smiles indulgently, not letting on how your touch is affecting her – and it is, because her unneeded breathing has quickened some.

“Please do join us; while my Cadre approaches, they are speaking with others or taking their time; we have some few tenth-turnings.” The delicate dragon salutes you, her chains chiming faintly; Dannae settles on the platform that you rest your feet on, while the dragon sits on the one you are seated upon. The reasoning is immediately obvious, as the spellcaster leans against the legs of the human-formed dragoness, and rests one arm across her lap, while the dragoness strokes her long hair, letting the golden eyed githyanki look up at you. She sets the staff on the ground, not too far away but making it clear she doesn't intend to use it against you. “Now, what kind of gift would Kisyet try and appease me with of her own volition? She is not the sort to do so without careful consideration or force, in my experience.”

The spellcaster smiles up at you, a knowing, wry little smile. And you would be correct. My Leader is nothing if not frugal even in matters of favors and onus. Her companion merely looks down at the lithe spellcaster, stroking her hair ad petting her, while the spellcaster looks up at you, her intentions difficult to read at best. I suppose you could call it a 'windfall', which is a reference to found fortune or fortunate circumstance giving benefits unlooked for. You are the only one who will benefit from it, however. She leans her head to the side, using the albino female's lap as a pillow almost.

Now I know that the Stronghold is falling and that the enemy is at the gates, that this is all an elaborate illusion for our torment. you don't bother correcting her on the fact you knew what 'windfall' meant; few are as scholarly as you are. You take Siobhan and hand her to Yzia, who smiles sweetly – and then shudders, her expression going blank as you gently but deliberately force your thumb upn her backside, deep and slow. She trembles a little on your lap, but soon relaxes into the unusual sensation. And why yourself? Surely not fear. That is not her way.

Dannae's response to your sweet Yzia's reaction is to look confused for a few seconds, and then smile knowingly up at you. Ah, as for that, well....she knows you well enough to presume at least some of your ire would full upon the messenger, and would rather it not have been her. Not that there is anything inherently dangerous about the gift itself, mind you. But not everyone is and well versed or capable as yourself. You have quite the reputation. She slips her hand inside the pouch at her belt, and manipulates the insides carefully, revealing perhaps more than she intended: while the pouch itself is not magical, there is apparently a section inside that is. She pulls out a fairly heft leather packet, at least three or four hand-heights in size. Against my better judgment....

You firmly and slowly use your thumb to stimulate your dragon, and she closes her eyes, her arm tightening about your shoulders and waist as you take the packet. There is no magic within or without, though when you carefully manipulate it to open it one handed, what is within has the faintest of magical auras. And that isn't really a surprise.

Three hand-weights in rubies from the Plateaus of Leng will carry that power with them.

Yzia opens her eyes to look at them, then looks at you, confused. You glance at her and push deep, making her gasp loudly and shudder.

Yeah it looks like Yzia's bluff was to maintain her composure, Dannae's sense motive was to see what was up with Yzia?

For those who don't know:

"Leng is a distant demiplane, barely known to even the greatest scholars of the Great Beyond on Golarion. It is an inhospitable realm hedged in by titanic mountains, home to creatures that defy facile categorization or even understanding,[1] but who occasionally travel to the Material Plane in their strange ships to collect slaves.

The Plateau of Leng is believed to be either a pocket within the Dimension of Dreams or accessible through it. It is a dry desert littered with ruins. The greatest of these ruins is the abandoned city of Sarkomand, the original home of the denizens of Leng.[4] The most powerful being in Leng, perhaps its ruler, is the mysterious yellow-clad High-Priest Not to be Described, who presides over the plateau's culture of blood sacrifice. The fabled city of unknown Kadath, while not itself in Leng, can be reached through that dimension."

AKA: it's a pretty Lovecraftian place full of alien beings

We should talk with Kisyet personally, relatively soon.

Either she's on a self-destructive road and trying to rescue her would be helpful, or she still manages to be reasonable and so could help our projects.
>>

Well, people going crazy from exposure to supernatural in Lovecraft's work is generally a big misconception, but I don't know how Pathfinder handled Leng's stuff.

But if Kisyet had those rubies, it means she had dealings with Leng or with someone who does. Never a good sign.

[X] Kisyet has been quite busy....and I am aware you did not really answer my question.
[X] This is a dangerous payment to make, and not necessarily for Kisyet.
[X] Write in? Kisyet thinks I would accept these why?

You slowly fold the case closed over the opaque rubies , well cut and shimmering with an inner light that has little to do with the Astral fundament. Leng rubies. Not a payment that just anyone would accept knowing what they are. You continue to toy with your dragon, who is clinging to you quite hard and breathing fast. That probably has something to do with your fingers rubbing her petals as you use your thumb in her tight rear entrance. Well, everything to do with that, really. Azrath is looking at Yzia, watching her with interest, while you look at Dannae, who is smiling wryly up at you, the petting her companion is giving her not enough of a distraction from you. And yet she sends these to me. Through a well protected intermediary capable of self defense, who notably sets aside her protection and relies on her companion to protect her.

Thumbing the catch of the pouch closed, you consider carefully. In and of themselves Leg Rubies aren't particularly dangerous, though they are very valuable. They are one of the few things that can make a physical transfer from Dream – or the Astra – to the material and back. But they are a thing steeped in slave trade, and not the kind that githyanki usually tolerate. Those sold to the Denizens of Leng are not likely to escape or be freed, especially by their own choices. I suggest you make a very strong case on behalf of your Leader for me to accept these; and do not think I have missed the fact that you never answered my question.

Dannae sighs softly, looking up at you with a smile as you set the pouch between yourself and Azrath, who continues to watch – and communicate with – Yzia. Their conversation seems unrelated to yours, and Yzia squirms, coming closer to a release, despite your perverse method of getting her there. You increase the speed of your gentle thrusts slightly, and slip a finger deep inside her as well, making her tighten in all sorts of lovely ways.

Dannae isn't unaware of your gentle, thorough molestation of you companion. Nor does she allow it to entirely distract her from the business at hand. She thought that I would be a fair match for you if you decided to take umbrage and kill the messenger – or her. I was under the impression that a scholar such as yourself would find a use for these, in some manner. So I offered to take them, both to see your understanding and to protect Kisyet. Her golden eyes glitter with amusement and her smile becomes even more wry, if such a thing is possible, the tips of her spurs showing. A fool she may be, but a fool I appreciate and who has done her best by me. She is not the only indebted one.

Azrath looks down at Dannae fondly then to you, and speaks for the first time. “Please accept the payment as it is intended, Gish Akko. It earns us favor, as well as repays you. You will know how to use these, I have no doubt.” She jumps as Yzia cries out loudly, and half collapses in a spastic, shuddery heap in your arms. You kiss her softly, several times along her face and ear and hair, holding her close even as you play with her so that she can finish properly. “....I think I envy your skills,” she murmurs, and is probably not talking about your mystic ones.

A bargain, if you will....accept these and I will be in your debt. If you refuse them, naught will change between you and Kisyet, though she may worry over your revenge for the attempt for some time. the sleek mage inclines her head, golden eyes flashing. I will even considerate a favor to me, for you to accept. that makes you raise your eyes and you cuddle your dragon lovingly. The others of your Cadre are approaching; Yashi would know the rubies for what they are instantly, and both Auena and Kteine are likely to recognize them as well.

Some other thoughts now that I'm actually free from outside interference again: is it worth hiding the gems from the others as they approach? Not sure what Yashi will make of them for example. I'm also not sure if Akko has brought anything to hide them from someone so accomplished either.

Second, was Kisyet someone Akko worried would make a move against her before this?

Third, can you clarify if Akko actually missed something with that sense motive check or is it spoilers? And if we did, was it tandem lewdness (which I thought would have been funny though unlikely) or actual serious motive WRT giving the rubies?

Finally, thanks for the smut! To be honest, I genuinely don't really read any quests for smut and rarely indulge - although of course, it's still fun to read anyway. But it's more of a nice spice on the adventures of Akko and seeing more of your interpretation of Gith society for me than a main draw of the quest. That said, buttstuff is my one weakness, so the session was definitely even more fun than usual for me!

[X] Write in? Very well, if you insist, I will accept....but I know the value of these, and it is not a simple thing Kisyet has done. Now doing Yzia, on the other hand....

“Kisyet may consider one third of her debt paid....and I accept the onus you offer if you will grant me a token payment at once.” Azrath lowers her gaze, and Dannae sits up and nods slowly, taking you very seriously. “As for my skill, I give lessons.”

This prompts soft, affectionate laughter from Yzia, who falls quiet and shudders when you slip your finger and thumb free of her heat. It is a simple matter of a few words and a gesture to cleanse your hand before you pick up the pouch of jewels. Dannae is feeling around inside her pouch again, and you politely ignore that she is wrist deep in a pouch half the length of her hand. “I will wish to speak to Kisyet at length on this matter. Perhaps over discussions of trade amongst our cadres for slaves of greater value to one another?”

That is fair enough a trade I think. From the pouch she pulls out a handful of black opals, the sparks of blue, green and red flame within them vibrant and strong. This will have to suffice for now....but they are from the mines of the Shaitan realms, within the realms of Earth and Stone. Never have they been to a material plane yet. That is impressive; you know that water is requires to give opals their flame, so the Shaitans' slaves must have tread perilously close to the realms of Water and Air for the opals to be so well lit from within.

“You know me well Dannae. I accept.” The spellcaster takes her staff in hand as she rises and salutes you, and you salute back, your eyes meeting over your fingers. “I look for\ward to our next meeting....perhaps we may become more closely acquainted.” Her companion looks at you speculatively as Yzia hugs you a little more tightly, grinning at the other dragon wickedly.

Dannae smiles, not quite baring her spurs and inclines her head as she makes her way towards the actual stairs, rather than climbing the stepped terraces themselves this time. Tzanzi and Yashi approach from above, and you spot Auena speaking with several githyanki, who seems curious and thoughtful as she indicates your growing group. “I was wondering. It seems as though we have many interesting offers already; we may come away with more slaves than we had planned or hoped for.”
>>
Tzanzi smiles, resplendent in her leather and shadow-steel, while Yashi is once more dressed in her adventuring gear. “You are greedy, Akko,” the murderer declares and you look at her with wide eyed innocence. Yashi blinks slowly at the murderer's claim and then settles between your legs, while Yzia runs her hand through the soft, wild locks.

“Everyone has to have a hobby,” you comment as the cadres start to collect themselves. Dunzamn rises and the dragon behind him slowly lifts its head, gazing at the crowds around his companion. He begins a slow, sonorous mental chant, brining everyone's attention towards him as he activates the psychic circuit to power. Dunzamn isn't a dragon-rider, no, but this dragon seems different. You gaze at it, your Arcane Sight seeing the shattered rainbow of the Elder Power in his aura.

With a start you recognize the dragon from the inquisitor's mental images the instant his gaze falls upon you: the dragon who is backing Dunzamn is none other than Vermithrax.

Sounds like we've got a challenge on our hands then. Well, we'll see how it works out!
>>
Thank you for reading and playing.

One: already done.
Two: not really; Kisyet is excitable and almost as studious in her gish-craft as Akko, but in otherworldly directions instead of into magic itself. Mostly, it was a nice, strong hold over another gish who could be easily confronted and forced to pay, and wasn't going to seek to repay Akko on her own terms. Dannae approaching on Kisyet's behalf was a surprise to Akko.
Third: you know what Akko saw and surmised; if she had succeeded better you might have gotten more information, but as it stands, she doesn't think Dannae is planning something any more nefarious than what she has done so far.
Finally: You're welcome.

Thank you.

I didn't think it would take quite this long to get to the raid, but it's aa young quest, compared to say, Ryukuza.

Kisses compared to mystically powerful gems? It was a hard, hard choice. Dannae has done her research on Akko.

>>1615928
.......that is so not the picture I intended. Oh well. Here's the intended one.
>>
>>1615936
That picture definitely seems a bit more fitting for Ryukuza Quest.

And yes, it is quite young compared to many of course. I for one am glad it's not been shorter!

Thanks for running! It's interesting that Vermithrax specifically also has the Elder Power as well, and not some other form of mythic energy, kind of makes me wonder if there's anything about this Stronghold that makes it special/important enough to merit his presence, or if that's what happens to most Solar Dragons who are considered the local leader.
>Hadal is there, the shock of platinum blonde hair and the human countenance making him stand out as always
Does that mean that Hadal is one of the few to really make the most of the GIthyanki's meritocracy to go from slave to equal? I think you implied that that has happened before, and it doesn't require having your biology changed through magic.

Thanks for running!

Elder Power is the githyanki term for mythic power in general (as opposed to deific power or mystic power). According to Yzia several of the oldest and most powerful dragons have it, but it's apparently not terribly unusual in an adult dragon either.

You are correct, Hadal is a human slave who became emancipated, and took on the mantle of psychic gish (specifically psychic warrior). In fact, Hadal was one of the examples she mentioned in passing to Kteine.

So did he just have the good luck to be born with psionics/come from a plane where psionic humans are common, or is it just something anyone can do if they try hard enough?
>>
>>1615973
The Astral Plane is the reality of the mind. Psionics and psychic ability can be developed within it if you are physically present, and once you have them, they remain even if you shift planes.
>>
>>1615980
Huh, that's pretty interesting. and really helps explain the Githyanki's attitude that slaves mostly have no one to blame but themselves for continuing to be slaves.

So does Cyrillian also have that capacity, or does the resistance to psionics cut both ways? Also, did restoring her sanity also restore any class levels she possessed, assuming she had any?
Though in her case, she might be too grateful to us to really aspire to be more than our servant, which is fine, since she'll probably be up to that task.
>>
>>1615997
Cyrillian cannot, because she lacks the capacity to be psionic at all. Magic she can learn (the serpentfolk all have the capacity to learn magic), as well as swordplay, but her resistance to mental abilities means the main ways to teach them can't be used. She was effectively a rogue.
