>Whats up guys? Sorry for my repeated absences.Ive been in and out of the hospital repeatedly, dozing off high dose painkillers and enjoying the lovely fact that I have but 1 eye left.

Last time on undead quest we began getting bolder, attacking Majadin merchants upon the road and slaughtering them. After creating a Winged Aberration from their Leader we then spread our sights further, recklessly doing battle with a scouting party of Kardielheim marauders. Unfortunately their leader had quite a edge on us due to being a shapeshifting berserker and the Ghoul and Wick were lost in battle. Thrane has retreated to the smugglers tunnel to hide as the hated sun has returned. Wounded, weakened and broken... What fate awaits you?

Thrane- fledgling vampire lord
Deathbolt lv2: inflict more damage or attack multiple targets
Soul harvest lv2: grab an enemy and pull their soul from their body. Increased effectiveness.
Soul drain lv1- drain the soul from one enemy at range. Difficult against powerful opponents.
Thrall control lv3: control up to 10 thralls without strain.
Leech lv2- grab an enemy and drain their lifeforce to bolster your own. More effective and harder to resist.
Dark master lv1-with the application of a bit of blood and your magical power, control a living thrall with absolute loyalty.
Shapeshift lv2-take on a human appearance. Will dissipate if encountering silver, sunlight or holy idols.
Fleshcrafting Lv1- using your own blood and the living (or unliving) flesh of your minions or prisoners you can mold their bodies into a multitude of roles

Notable mutations-
Vampiric might-much stronger than a normal human.
Lords stature. Your body is massive, conferring bonuses to strength and durability
Bonescale hide-your skin is pebbled with knobs of bone greatly increasing your resistance to slashing weapons.

Minions-
1 Risen- intelligence x2 durability ×1
1 Bonewarden- Durability x5 strength x1
5 Zombies- Durability x1
1 Flying Aberration

Long piece of steel wire stabbed me through my eye while I was hanging up a fan to keep my nephews showpigs cool. Pierced EVERYTHING and hit my retina. They took the lens out the other day and found a massive infection so they put me under again to take my eye out before it spread to my brain.
>>
>You are Thrane, thoroughly bitchslapped vampire lord.
>Status-Critically wounded, weakened.

You rest your weary back against the coo earth of the tunnel, your black blood forming a thick mud in the dust of the floor. Smearing great clawfulls of it over your wounds does a bit to relieve the pain and slow the horrid bleeding from the massive wounds.

Inwardly you are just as injured, reflecting on your own recklessness that saw 2 of your most capable minions slain. Had it not been for Wicks fearless loyalty you yourself would have died to some stinking savage shapeshifter from that northern hellhole.

Snatching a bloated, weakly struggling rat you gulp it down whole, its puny life force will serve to fuel a meager healing.

Hissing in agony you force your body to shift, bones jerking back through the skin and crudely bonding together. Shakily, you stand and peer down the tunnel. You can no longer feel Wicks presence but you know that your living servant remains in Sverelfan. Perhaps he can assist you?

>Nat 20. The fattest, stupidest, juiciest guys Skerath could find.

You mentally reach out to your living minion Skerath. The lightning mages mind accepts you willingly, curiosity and worry at your weakened condition.

"Skerath.. The sun prevents me from hunting... I must feed to heal.... Help me.."

The cool, calculating mind ponders for a moment before returning
"At once master. Remain in the tunnels"

Smiling like a grisly nightmare you use your claws to carve out a small alcove, burying yourself in the cool earth. A few hours pass as you drowse, occasionally picking free fat worms and insects to stave off your hunger.

Eventually you feel and hear footsteps approaching. A trio of heavy, stomping, clumsy footsteps along with a single pair of light, quick, precise steps.

Directly outside your hiding place a familiar voice sounds out
"Stop here you twits. We need to talk about your positions in the employ of the Black Cat"

>>
"Well it can be said about you three... You all have one talent in common. One... Thing... I know you'll all be good at."
Comes Skerath's dry voice

"Whats that sir"
a thin, high pitched voice whines, grating your bruised ears.

"Dying"

Before the the grunts of confusion have even left their lips you are in motion, exploding forth from the wall like a bomb with teeth. Your sharpened bone claws drive through the skull of one of the pudgy, sweaty young men. Closing your fist inside his body you grip his spine, using him as a hammer to crush the other against the wall, blood spattering from his crushed nose and lips. A second blow flattens his nearly empty head against a support pole.

The last, a fat young man with a spattering of acne across his piglike face looks to the impassive Skerath in confused terror before he attempts to draw a dull, rusty dagger. It never clears the sheath as you impact him, the bones of his arms and shoulders breaking as you tighten your grip. Wrenching his head to the side you sink your fangs into his blubbery throat. Thick, hot blood courses down your throat and your eyes dilate at the rush as your body begins cracking and shifting, bones and muscles bonding and shifting to their original shapes while the gaping rents in your skin seal shut.

You lose yourself in the meal, shoveling clawfuls of warm, dripping meat into your mouth. Your belly distends slightly and you belch in contented happiness as your body regains its power.

You curl into the wall and bury yourself again, waiting out the fall of night...

>19. You'll get some good victims semi regularly.

Awakening with the first fall of night you pull yourself from your nest, slinging the your makeshift hammer corpse over your shoulder as you telepathically outline Skerath on what to do.

He assures you he can send several low tier henchman, bums, addicts, etc to you a month without anyone getting suspicious. The first will start arriving within a few days.

Tearing through the forest like a shadow you leap from tree to tree, soaring above the ground with your powerful legs. You already envy your aberration with its powerful wings. Surely it is already home.

Skidding to a stop in front of your lair you hear the telltale rattle of bones as your BoneWarden, Zombies and The Risen rise from around the small clearing to greet you. They tote several corpses, fresh and decaying along with thick bundles of bones.
>Gained 9 corpses and 4 worth of bones

The Risen pulls forth a bloodstained canvas with its head bowed sorrowfully
"We... Found where they fell upon the road... We could not... Avenge them."

Throwing back the canvas you loonat the mutilated corpse of the ghoul, the claws and head hacked off for trophies and... The torn and mangled hand and forearm of Wick.

You growl in displeasure at the loss of your favored minions. The Northerners will pay for this.

From above the snapping sound of great, wet wings sounds as the Aberration lands heavily atop the outcropping over the lair.

>10 corpses. 4 corpses worth of bones.

Gesturing for your minions to eat you draw out the fresher bodies, leaving the ripening corpses to your minions who tear into them with relish. Peeling away the flesh from the bones you gulp it down happily, savoring the slight taste of rot and disease as you discard bones over your shoulder.

The Risen tucks into a trio of the corpses, feeding like a ravenous beast as it crams handfuls of meat into its mouth with such force its throat bulges. Black blood drips fork its lips as it eats with a furious hunger.

The Aberration swoops down and grabs a pair, coiling long tendrils of bone and muscle around them before pulling them apart and sucking them meat into a mouth like some giant toothy worms. Bones drop randomly from its midsection as the meal is processed.

A pair of the zombies grab the final pair of corpses and tuck into them while the others watch forlornly. They were the two who had done the best in the battle against the Majadin.

The Bonewarden sits in the middle and slowly adds every stray piece of bone to its mass, idly clacking to itself in contentment.

>Thrane- Fangs.

You growl and rear your head back as your jaw pops and creaks, teeth and fangs shifting and rearranging in the cavernous pit of your mouth. Your teeth push forward in your jaw like ivory spikes, sharp and hard as sword points. Perfect for ripping through flesh and hide.

>Gained Ripping jaws. Feeding is more efficient and more bodies can be eaten at once. Bite damage is increased and can pierce thin armor.

>Risen- Strength

As you turn and work your jaw you are surprised to see your Risen standing across from you. His body has become thick and broad, shoulders and neck knotted with slabs of muscle under the thick Grey skin. His forearms and legs bulge like that of a beasts as he turns ponderously, eyes glowing a dim yellow in the light as he wipes blood from his lips with one massive fist.

>Aberration-speed.

The twisted monstrosity atop the outcropping squeals in distress as its body shifts and changes. Its skinless claws dig into the stone as its bones and tendons stretch and thin, new muscle coiling between them. Its wings become more solid and akin to skin instead of wet membrane and the muscles anchoring them bulge with new growth.

>Zombies- Durability

The pair of Zombies stand from their meal, their bodies shifting before your eyes as their skin and bones warp and adjust. Spurs of bone jut from their backs and elbows as small plates of bones spread across their chests and backs. Their skin takes on a appearance like old, dry leather as it thickens. Their slow speed belies their vicious strength and unstoppable determination.

>Bonewarden- 2x strength and 1 speed.

The Bonewarden chatters happily as its body expands again, standing head and shoulders above even you as its arms lengthen and thicken, the bones in the center of the limbs as thick as an oxes femur. A riling mass of the newfound bones adjust to its hips and legs, the hulking limbs disassembling before reforming. Instead of a pair of thick, trunk like legs it now has four, sturdy legs ending in a spike of ivory bone. It scuttles across the ground as it tests out its new might, heaving rocks the size of cattle from the surrounding earth and tossing them like toys.

>Graveyard Raid

You leap from your resting place with the speed of the night wind, clawed feet gouging out earth and bark as you fling yourself into the air, flashing through the treetops like a malignant shadow.

Your Aberration takes to the air, wings cutting large circles as its stalked eyes survey the ground below for prey. Wet claws and teeth emerge at random from its nightmarish body, grasping at the air in its foul hunger.

Your Risen leads the squad of Zombies along, the stumbling creatures making good time as they follow the burly undead. The Risen has equipped himself with one of the Majadins curved sword, the heavy metal as light as a feather in his hands as the Zombies shuffle along with notched swords and axes in their Grey skinned hands. The more powerful pair grip a weapon in each hand, their craggy skin and spurs of bone serving them better than any armor.

Before long you perch atop a rocky outcrop atop a small hill in the outskirts of the forest a few miles to the southwest of the town. Ahead, youre eyes easily discern the sprawling cemetery. A crumbling wall of poorly mortared stone circles the expanse of land, wrought iron gates standing at falling archways. Paths and trails cut through the older regions to some of the larger family crypts and tombs for wealthy inhabitants. Small groups of men with lanterns and black robes move about the cemetery, hauling small wagons behind then loaded with bare, rotting bodies or cheap wooden coffins.

>9. You found one.

As your minions fall in behind you, you set off down the hill, the dim moonlight as bright as a noonday sun to your eyes. Effortlessly you vault the crumbling wall, your Risen leaping it and landing on one knee, sword drawn and eyes bright. The Zombies eventually make their way over and you gesture, fanning them out through the graveyard. Crypts and mausoleums poke from the ground like small temples or simple staircases of stone. You search for those that the holy idols have been worn away or removed for the gold.

Many are sealed with iron or lead in the hinges, wedges of metal driven through the gaps to make the doors impossible to open by force. Gravediggers and guards amble by on the well traveled paths, their eyes never falling upon your motley band as one of the zombies suddenly spots something.

A large crypt, near the outskirts of the cemetery in a long overgrown section. Its holy symbols and blessings had been carved away by tools and cast away and the heavy stone door had been opened recently but was sealed to the outside air. Your Zombies sniff at the gap and salivate. They smell flesh. Living flesh.

You dig your claws into the stone frame around the doors edges and push with all your might. Stone puffs from around the bottom of the door as stone scrapes against stone. Inch by inch the door unwillingly slides open, a faint rasp the only sound as you muscle it open.

Cool, damp air with hints of torch smoke and rotting flesh belches forth, greeting your nostrils like a sweet perfume. Gesturing forth your minions follow you down into the crypt, rough carved stairs smoothed by the years under your feet. Bones, some already crushed to dust lay haphazardly under your feet and against the walls in clumsy piles.

Crossing the first landing you spy a single figure, surrounded by bodies in various degrees of decay and desecration. Tomes and scrolls adorn every table and surface with vials and potions arranged without order or thought. The figure putters about, inspecting the dissected corpse in front of it, a repetitive chant reachimh your ears

>17. A shadow in the dark.

A feather in ashes. The lightest breeze across stone. A flies footsteps. All of these are put to shame by the silence of your footsteps. Without a single sound you glide across the floor, your broad clawed feet padding silently like a shadow of malice and hate.

The necromancer putters about, sprinkling herbs and drops of violently glowing potions onto the corpse, the foul concoctions eliciting twitches and spasms from the cadaver. A faint musical humming us heard as the figure toils. They turn, just as you reach out to grab them. A woman's face, pale and scarred but still fair, black hair drawn back tightly from a face speckled with blackened blood.

Your massive claw grips tightly around her neck, lifting her effortlessly into the air, feet kicking as she digs at your wrist with the point of her small ritual dagger. Her eyes flare with violet energy as her will is manifested, corpses in ramshackle armor and bearing rusted weapons stepping from alcoves and coffins. Hmm I would second this one, but lets let her have more choice. I want a servant that CHOSE to be with us, I mean not like it matters but that will be a huge psychological tool in the future. Since unlike Whick she will be studying Necromancy and may find a way to break our control some day. It would be useful to have her want to be our servant in the first place. So basically let her tool around as a mortal for a while if she wants and offer to turn her into a Revenant when she has "Become Prepared and Skilled Enough" basically make her earn it by some arbitrary poorly defined metric.

See what we can learn from each other in terms of necromancy...perhaps an upgrade? A blood bond? Check out the crypt as well, look over her minions and see if your blood or magic can upgrade them.

Am very curious to what we can do with flesh crafting. We still have the group's corpse, as well as the durability+1 zombie corpse. Might be time to rebuild that guy with her around for tuitilage.

And unrelated but can wick's soul be recovered? If you are done with him in the story once I am settled into a home with regular internet I want to talk to you on discord. Otherwise, please disregard this chain of thought from me.

Gesturing for Sophie to follow you, you sweep past her, the Risen following close behind as she walks silently. She grabs a thick, low burning candle and keeps close on your heels as you walk into the dank passageways. Old bones crumble underfoot as you peer into the more luxurious chambers of the abandoned crypt. One has clearly been set up as Sophie's bedchamber, piles of ancient gravecloth and blankets forming a small nest scattered with small scraps of food and books.

The following chambers are littered with ancient statues and busts of the final inhabitants, stone coffins on raised platforms becoming the norm.

The far wall of the crypt is cracked open by the pressure of soil and the march of years, the firm earth surely will allow you to expand the crypt should you need to.

"Howwww...."
You hiss, turning ones head in your claws, the creature blankly accepting the manipulation.

"I-uh... I infuse the potions with necromantic energy to stimulate their bodies. With regular treatment and attunement to my will they become like this. Strong, capable and extremely hard to kill. They must be burned or chopped to pieces to stop" she says proudly, gesturing at the cadaver she was working on, its fingers twitching slightly as the glowing potion soaks into its ritualized cuts.

"Wheeerre did youuu learrrnn thiss?"
You rasp with a certain degree of respect for the young woman

"I was a mages apprentice in Ceralise. I was... Bored and began searching out the... Dark arts? Yes? When my master discovered what I had been doing she reported me to the Inquisition. I was forced to flee here... To this... Frozen hell"
She says sadly, rubbing a small medallion on her cloak.

Astounding. One not being allowed to use corpses and death magic? What savagery.

Obviously divine magic is a problem for us, and we don't want this guy to be able to track us down and stake us while we sleep in the daytime.

If we can, I say we redirect any suspicion about the deaths we cause by shifting the blame onto the berserker and his marauders.

> Send a message to your other minions to begin digging a tunnel to the graveyard.
Link up our personal lair outside of town with Sophie's. Make it easier for us to travel to and fro, and give us a means of relocating bodies without drawing attention.

It must be odd for a vampire/greater undead trying to explain the 'natural' forces at their command to a still living magic-user.

Kneeling by the spasming corpse you send out a gentle pulse of your own necromantic power, calming the thralls spawning, simple mind.

Sophie kneels across from you, taking up her tools and vials as you begin to manipulate the blood slicked limbs.
"The Prieeeessst.... What doesss he do heeere"
You say softly, plunging a claw into the cadavers chest to retrieve a shattered bit of bone

"Father Tuleros? He comes to bless the burials and the family graves. He is not much of a undead hunter but I am still glad he has not found me yet."
She says, looking up for a moment before sweeping down with a needle and thick thread, sealing up the chest cavity with even, steady stitching.

You bite your finger, cool blood dripping across the corpses face as you squeeze several fat drops into its mouth. With a jerk and a groan it comes to life, spasming gently before standing, weaving drunkenly for a moment as the two differing schools of necromancy conflict within its body. To your surprise its eyes open with the spark of intelligence within them yet the control of the creature is not yours, Sophie gasps in shock as she realizes the new creature is hers.

"The-thank you for this gift master! I will not fail you!"

Hes really nightmarish when you think about it.

For construction zombies how about we modify some of them to have scoop like hands, picks for others, maybe a cavity in their body to carry materials as well as reinforced lower body for carrying weight.
>>
>>1694597
Zombie Ant-men?

The hands end in modified digging claws; the chest and back are bent with thick muscle; the jaws have developed into heavy mandibles; the head, limbs and body are covered in external bone armor/exoskeleton; and the legs have split into four limbs that can allow the drones to move quickly and surely even while dragging great weight.

Of course, if we're going to have pure labor minions, I'd rather that they be under the necromancer's command. All of the special snowflake monsters, like the Bone Warden and the Aberration, will belong to us.

I also want to remake the Ghoul and Revenant. Maybe this time, give them both greater durability so they can't get one-shot.
>>
>>1694712

The Revenant won't be Wick though....RIP in peace Wick. We'll find that shapeshifting cunt again and torture him to death for you and the ghoul
>>

CursedQM is it possible to create undead one day that can produce biomass? Maybe some kind of zombie ant queen that makes more zombie ants.
>>
>>1694744
I say that we make our next Revenant a proper field leader for all of our undead forces, with an even distribution among speed, strength, durability, and intelligence.

Call him...John.

>>1694772
I doubt that undead could actually create more flesh from nothing, but we could go the route of termites, bees and ants, and craft our lairs from wood and stone processed in the bellies of our worker minions.

And, if we modify their limbs in the right ways, we can make most of our lairs either incredibly dangerous or outright inaccessible by mortals. Bone and stone traps, vertical shafts, caves filled with water or even poison gas.
>>
>>1694233
>alter raise thralls

Unless mistaken we still have our ghoul's body sans head and hands, as well as parts of wick (arm). I suggest putting them together with a bit of fleshcraft and necromancy. Worst case scenario is another zombie. Best case, we get some of the upgrades that went into those two. We can fill in the gaps with local resources.

At the very least its a nice memorial to the fallen, and good use of recycling.

With a gesture and a flick of your dark will your troops gather the piled tools. shovels and picks from along the walls, remnants of gravediggers who have run afoul of Sophie's minions.

Taking the cue from you, Sophie's eyes flare as she commands her minions to follow yours. Hefting their weapons, mostly reworked and sharpened handtools and shovels, they march down to the cracked wall, laying into the thick, heavy soil with gusto.

Their tireless strength makes short work of the tunnels construction, carting back vast amounts of stone and soil that are disposed of in the lower reaches of the crypt. Packing the remainder until it is as hard as stone they smooth the walls and ensure the passage is large enough nearly twice over for your bulk.

After nearly a full three days of work they break through, a zombie narrowly stumbling back to avoid the massive claws of the BoneWarden. The skeletal creature clatters happily to see its companions and they begins smoothing and finishing the surface of the walls, reinforcing it with packed soil and coffin planks from the crypt.

You've been bringing up the Antediluvians, and I think that is the most appropriate for what Thrane will /eventually/ become. Maybe we could become like Tzimisce; a fleshy fungal monstrosity burrowing and feeding upon the very planet itself like a gigantic parasitic infection.

A God or World-Eater is something so far off as to be inconceivable, but if Cursed ever does a second vamp/undead quest run, we could always use Thrane as a forbidden deity of those monsters that hunt in the dark.

Also, for those who have no idea what we're talking about;
> Vampire: the Masquerade, by White Wolf, is a part of the World of Darkness series. There is also Changeling: the Lost (the other quest present in /qst/ by Vox, called Cinderella Sanction, is set in Changeling), Mage: the Awakening, and several others.
> The Antediluvians are the ancestors of all modern vampire clans, and as the name suggests, were sired (specifically by Caine, Father of Murder) before the Flood.
> The Antediluvians are practically god-like in power, and are as far beyond comprehension to an elder vampire as they are to humans.

Insofar as eating everything in sight, I think we should show a bit of patience. If we can eventually blood-bind those mortal men and women of power and influence, we can begin using humans like cattle. Hunt down and destroy those other monsters and beasts that plague the land, and the area will become much more prosperous and attract more people. Insure that there is food and healing aplenty for the mortals, and they will breed and grow with enthusiasm. Devour those who are weak, or stupid, or troublesome. Those who show excellence, whether in prodigious skill or natural talent can receive our dark blessing, as a reward for their superiority.

Also, in regards to this >>1696840 the picture attached also seems like a possible form it can take. When it is 'asleep', it is nothing but a shifting, slithering lake of flesh. But when it wakes?

Death and destruction on a biblical scale.
>>
>>1696867
>Nom an entire country
>Eat literal gods
>Get rid of a colossal ball of burning gas
We're a vampire, not a demigod. Probably years of IRL time will pass before these are options.

>Travel to otherworldly planes
This is much more like it. Find our way to the greatest centre of learning in the country (probably a mage's college) and bully the nerds into showing us how to open passageways to areas more magically inclined. We could make a deal with a devil, enslave a Fey lord to our will, travel through the ether - we wouldn't need any stinkin' manflesh!

Speaking of which, Cursed, are we going with the D&D cosmology (16 outer planes, four elements, Feywild/Shadowfell etc.) or do you have your own?
>>
>>1696911
Learning/eating/taking from the Fae would be interesting and quite rewarding, but would also carry significant risk. In their own realm, the Fae are like smaller divinities, and can do things that make reality seem like a game of pretend.

For example, if we managed to fight and kill a High Fae in our world, we might eat its heart and gain a resistance to magic or maybe even sunlight, but also take on its weakness to cold iron or salt.

Now, demonology seems like the way to go. Beyond petty morality, the monstrous MC can provide a valuable exchange in return for a greater demon's aid; human souls. It would be likely that normal souls mean nothing to a demon, and instead the entity may require the essence of powerful or holy individuals, like a mage lord or a blessed paladin. In exchange for such prizes, the demon might offer boons of service, the summoning of lesser demons, unnatural powers and secrets, and perhaps even protection from the hated sun.

let's not get ahead of ourselves
>>
>>1697136
Well, now that we have an academic necromancer on our side we could potentially pass to realms beyond this one. We'd start out small at first, of course - a scouting party into a lower plane (assuming D&D cosmology), kill an imp or two, nothing major - it'll be a long time before we can get cosy with major powers.
>>

Well, "dark arts" is fairly vague. She might know a little bit about cosmology, and be able to direct us to the mage's college in Ceralise, which we could get to by hiding in a cart with a cover. Then we ambush a mage in his sleep and bully him into giving us a private tutorship in Being A Badass Legendary Vampire-Demon-Fey-Demigod 101.

I'll be honest, I don't know why people are so fussed about boosting intelligence. We're the master here and they can't do much without our command anyway - we can do all the thinking for them. Best to use them as mindless attack dogs, since Cursed said you need souls to give magic. Best to boost their damage, I think. Then we stand a better chance against things that need to die quickly, like werewolves or paladins or the shapeshifter that absolutely pwned us earlier.
>>
>>1697664
Oh, I know. However, they do need intelligence for other things - like remember that they can dodge and block attacks rather than just tanking the hits.

More intelligent minions mean that they also won't be tricked so easily, or miss details that an aware person would pick up. They're still thralls bent to our will, but its not as if we're constantly in their heads, guiding their actions. If you want that, then you should support that mind-link that was discussed earlier.
>>
>>1697678
just one or two Revenants like Wick should suffice though. the rest can be mindless slaughtering machines

>Thrane. Senses.

As you slumber in the cool depths of the crypt, sleeping off your meal, your body changes. Youre ears extend slightly, becoming pointed like a beasts. Your nostrils flare as the faintest scents become more pronounced, more vibrant. Blearily your eyes crack slightly. In the pitch black of the crypt you can see every detail, every crack in the walls, every skittering insects minuscule feature. Your eyes glow like pale lanterns in the dark as they drift closed contently.
>Gained Hunters senses. Much easier to search and pursue in 0 light and low visibility conditions.

>Risen. Speed.

Your Risen sitsagainst the wall as you slumber, enjoying the moment of relaxation. His bones creak and shift as tendons grow and muscles bulge. His limbs lengthen slightly, the muscle beneath coiling like long steel cable. He relaxes back against the cool stone, tapping long, black nailed fingers on his thigh.

>Zombies. Armored and Regular. Intelligence.

Your Zombies, the Grey skinned and the pair with the craggy hide and bone spikes sit up from their meal, licking blackened blood from their fingers as their eyes slowly brighten. They blink at their surroundings curiously, their fledgling minds taking in every detail.

>Bonewarden. +3 speed? Hory sheet. Pic related.

The Bonewarden sends out long grasping feelers of bone, delicately rooting through the bones, fresh and old for the best additions. Folding the newfound material into its bulk it shivers and chatters as the bone flows like liquid and is redistributed. The four spider like legs at tithe bottom of its midsection thicken heavily before splitting again and again. The body below its waist extends, lengthening into that resembling some monstrous insect of bone and stabbing legs as thick as small trees.

>>1697790
Okay, good to know. I figured that upgrading their intelligence would make them more capable, and obviously our Risen is the smartest out of our minions (barring poor Wick, may he rest in pieces).

After this, I think we should give something special to our boy. If we can come up with a combination of necromancy and flesh-crafting, we can give him some potent regeneration or maybe instead we can pursue some elemental magic and give him resistance to fire. It's worth looking into, at the very least.

>Experimentation for better a better Ghoul

Your Risen and Zombies grip their weapons and march out into the night, searching for fresh blood and meat. The heavy stomp of their feet on the stone floor is drowned out by the clatter of bone legs on stone as the Bonewarden scuttles down the passages of the crypt, diving into the soft earth of the tunnel wall. Scything claws and brutish strength clear away the earth at record speed.

Beckoning Sophie to your side you select several of the few bodies her minions managed to gather while you waited for your minions to finish the tunnel.

Placing the corpse upon the worktable you each take a position upon each side, her readying her tools and potions while you sharpen your claws and smile viciously. You have plenty of spare parts to work with.

Actually no, if we're going to have a personal attack dog I want it to literally be a dog.

Can we instruct the Risen telepathically to look for a dog or wolf to bring back? (Dead or alive) bear, or other carnivorous animal works too.

For improved ghoul, changing vote to speed. We're traveling in packs lately, need to be able to keep up with each other, AND, speedy zombies power rises exponentially.

Compare how difficult it is to deal with zombos in 28 Days Later to The Walking dead. I don't watch either, but you know hehelol :))))))

What, you mean like ghouled beasts from VtM? I think we'd need to work on our blood magic and potentially telepathy before that kind of thing would work.

Though, you do bring up a good idea; we should put more points into our shape-shifting ability, so that we can travel through human territory in disguise. No one would think twice about seeing a cat, dog, or rat wandering the streets, or seeing a crow or bat up above.

>Damage

Peeling back the corpses skin and muscle you work directly on the skeleton at first. Crimson energy runs like liquid along your claws as bone flows like water. You direct the fascinated Sophie as she cuts away bone and tendon from the donor corpses, using your own blood and the power of blood magic to graft and fuse the separate pieces into a cohesive whole. The entire upper torso of one donor is used, the amalgamation upon the table growing more complex. The influence of your magic upon it is evident even without the spark of unlife. The body is mutating as you work, the skull becoming bestial, the skin ripping under the pressure as the bone beneath elongates. The mouth fills with jagged fangs of ivory and cracked bone, wide enough to bite off a mans head.

Turning your attention to its musculature you graft thick chunks of tissue onto its chest, back, thighs and arms. Sealing the foreign tissue with your own blood you smile as the seams hiss and smoke before twitching as one cohesive whole.

The hands and fingers and feet you lavish some extra care upon, extending the bone into massive, curved talons of razor sharp bones as sturdy as swords. Infusing the blades with thick black droplets of your own blood you smile proudly as the edges warp and shimmer, adopting a wicked serration while retaining their razor sharpness.

Laying the sheets of skin back upon the monstrosity you seal them back to its body with your blood, the seams bubbling with black mist as they join seamlessly. Biting your wrist you release a thick flow of black blood across the creatures face and mouth. Standing back you admire yours and Sophie's work as it takes its first breathes and steps into unlife.

A long bodied, bestial figure, pal skin as thick as leather armor. A bared skull for a face, eyes glowing with a deep violet glow. Fangs like ivory daggers jut from its extended jaws. Its body bulges with thick muscle from nightmarish head to clawed feet. Its centerpiece is the two pairs of long, muscular arms, tipped by four, foot long curved serrated claws as sharp as razors. It stands in front of you, hunched and panting slightly, a simple vicious cunning lurking behind its cruel eyes.

You retire to your chambers as daylight approaches, the Risen and Zombies returning with their bounty proudly.

I have a question.

We are a vampire. We do not know any other vampires, and in fact do not know or even know of anyone or anything non-hostile to us of their own free will. We can create minions with our blood, and can tear a grown man in two. We can improve ourselves by eating flesh and stealing souls. Basically anything we could ever want we are fully capable of taking by force.

What the hell do we need money for?

There are valuable resources that we can acquire through our living servants, Skerath and Sophie. If we just kill a bunch of people and take their stuff, that will draw unwanted attention.

>Raise Bear. Does count as a minion however. Its a fucking bear. Not a poodle.
>Ripper fed a juicy deer.
>Sophie appreciates the fresh Venison

As the Ripper tears into the fat, juicy flesh of the deer, you inspect the bloodied corpse of the bear. The Risen proudly watches as you inspect the massive beast, rents in its deep brown hide, claws like black knives, eyes glassy in the final fury of its death. Some of the zombies sport deep rents in their thick hides and one has a slowly healing chunk torn from its thigh.

You bite the tip of a finger and dab the dripping black fluid into the deep stabs and slashes, sealing the muscle with the hiss of boiling flesh. Satisfied that the creature won't rip itself apart you bite deeply into your wrist, dripping thick, violet tinged black blood into its maw. The bear twitches and growls as its body is reanimated, light slowly returning to its eyes.

It rolls to its feet, shaking its massive head and stretching as its body finishes the final changes in unlife. Its claws shift and lengthen slightly, becoming thick bone instead of claw.

Taking off at a swift run with your minions following you as you search. The scent of rot and decay from the soil itself nearly masks the scent of living humans but with your newly enhanced senses you are on the trail within seconds.

Leaping atop a ornate mausoleum you focus on a group of torches moving down a nearby trail. A half dozen men, black robes over chainmail, armed with shortswords and broad bladed halberds. Half the men carry torches and they seem to be calm and inattentive, relaxed in their duties.

>20.

The three men at the front of the patrol stop suddenly, peering into the darkness. Two of them raise their torches, gazing ahead.
"Werlan, did you see that"

"Something moved Lorgun. I saw it."

One steps forward, hand on the hilt of his sword as a tall figure steps out of the inky blackness
"Halt! Who goes the-AAAAAGGGGHHHH"
His authoritative command is cut off with a wave of your hand and a pulse of deep, violet energy. His skin draws in and and becomes waxy and dark, his veins blackening as the life is sucked from his body. His companions step forward, attempting to rescue him, somehow. Their souls join your feast as you effortlessly rip their very being from them. They collapse bonelessly, eyes wide open.

>Gained 3 souls.

Their remaining companions scream in terror and rage, the braver of them charging forth, shouting a prayer they makes your ears ring. You Risen seems to think likewise as he appears from the shadows

>14. I want them alive so I may kill them later.

The brave, zealous guards halberd would likely serve him well against your hide, the heavy chopping blade the weapon of choice for undead hunters. Your Risens heavy, curved blade shears through the haft, sending the blade wheeling as the Risens free hand comes around in a bone crushing punch, shattering the mans jaw and sending him flying.

A second Guard charges, shortsword and torch held high. A heavy boot to his chest sees him flat on his back. Almost contemptuously the Risen kicks him in the face, spraying blood and teeth across the ground.

The remaining man turns to run but is greeted by a snarling horror from his worst nightmares. He makes several desperate swipes at the Ripper, opening shallow slashes in the creatures chest. It doesn't even notice before gripping is arms in one set of arms, locking the joint and bringing its other set upward sharply, shattering them at the elbow. His scream is cut off by a vicious headbutt as the Ripper lunges forward, splitting his forehead open to the bone.

You growl happily at your minions as they pile the captured guards next to the three whose souls you consumed. They groan piteously in horrendous pain.

I say that, once we're done hunting to our heart's content, we go back and interrogate the guards for any information they might have. After that, we either rip out their souls or use them as live test subjects for our blood magic and/or flesh-crafting.

Support this! We need some people alive! Think about it, information, we can figure more about the town, about the grave yard, where other grave yards are, a whole bunch of shit. We need them!
>That said, soon they will all be either food or souls food.
>>
>>1699681
Yup. Wring as much information out of them as is possible, then, we either devour their souls or use them as project material. Maybe start going for that Shoggoth/Elder Brain thing we were talking about before?

Also, I think we should spend the souls on exploring new magical talents, like demonology or elementalism. Alternatively, we could try developing psychic talents like telepathy, levitation, and telekinesis.
>>
>>1699714
Well we first need more in necromancy so we can have more minions. However agter that we can put magic points into demonology, dark occult lovcraftian magic and psyco ability.
I don't like elemental magic though, we should delegate it to one of our minions.

Give one to the Ripper for some additional speed, and the other two to Thrane.

Bueno.
The rest get sent back for later soul ripping action after interrogation...for now we continue the hunt. Thoooough...perhaps we feed a soul each to the ripper and fevenant, maybe us as well. No point in continuing the hunt at sub optimal levels.
>>
>2 for me, one for my new pet

Grabbing one of the corpses you fling it to the Ripper. Like an overgrown hound it snatches the body from the air and tears into it. Its claws shear through the flesh like hot razors through wax. You quickly devour the remaining two bodies, shoveling chunks into your mouth, crunching bones down whole. Within moments the only traces of the two men are scraps of their robes, warm blood upon the grass and their weapons.

Signaling the Grave Thrall through your shared blood you inform it of your desire to have the living guards brought to the crypt. With the mental equivalent of a polite and servile bow it sends a group of thralls to collect them.

Lets go exploring, but be intelligent about it. Make sure the robes and weapons vanish as well.

We also....have some for opportunity to advance our living servant the lightning mage, and further our own ends. After enough of this, perhaps the black cat will be informed of business opportunity in the area of graveyard guarding. They take over control, loot the corpses of valuables, and replace valuable holy symbols with cheap fakes. Collect the wealth of the dead. They can send their low ranking idiots to do such simple work. Meanwhile we pick off those not missed, followers, mourners, bandits, etc.

Hopefully our mage rises in the ranks for such business acumen, and we gain a measure of anonymity and covert control over the town. True we have some real monsters, but all the better to defend our domain from outside monsters.

And eventually lead an army...Thrane the conquerer, undying everlord. Has a nice ring.

As Sophie's Thralls shuffle up and begin dragging away the captured men you turn, loping off into the darkness, the Risen and Ripper following as well as they can. Your heavy, clawed feet carry you more swiftly than the fastest horse as you follow the sound of shouting and clattering weapons.

Crouching atop the spire of a large, chapel like Crypt you look down upon a gathering of guards. Two squads stand at a junction of the paths, looking in the direction you came in. They argue with each other, insisting the others be the ones to go investigate the agonized screams.

None of them seem eager.

Their nervous discussion is cut short by a bone rumbling growl issuing from beyond the torchlight. They freeze, visibly paling as they witness the barest outline of your figure stalking through the farthest edges of visibility.

A second growl echoes on their opposite side as they begin backing away, the Rippers wet fangs catching the barest moment of light. Shaken, the men draw their weapons, forming a circle of torches and blades.

The scraping of steel and claws on stone echoes from around them, constantly moving shadowy figures barely visible for even a moment. You scrape your claws along a large, ornate tombstone, the brief flare of sparks illuminating your face to the men.

Instantly the smell of shit assaults your nose as they scatter, screaming into the graveyard in ragged groups or alone

>14. Release the hounds!
>14. For some reason they are very slow.

As the men scatter, you grin viciously, taking off like a shot with the Risen and Ripper both heading off in different directions. These men hope to outrun death.

They will not.

You bowl men over, flinging them bodily into the air or into tombstones, bone crunching audibly as they slump, blood trickling from their wounds. Heavy blows from your massive fists snap spines and legs, flinging the men you encounter like toys.

Screams echo from around the area as the Risen and Ripper find their own prey. The Risen sheaths his blade and instead uses his fists and feet to shatter bone and rattle skulls.

The Ripper deftly and expertly uses its razor sharp claws like a surgeons blade, shearing through tendon and muscle to leave the men helpless as babies. So accurate are its strikes the wounds hardly bleed, the men remaining fully conscious and alert while their bodies become prisons.

By the time the hunt is over you have captured ten of the guards, only two escaping your clutches. With Dawn coming you quickly four of the men and drag them back to the crypt, your minions bringing the rest.

Retreating into the cool darkness with several tendrils of smoke curling from your skin you regard your living captives, many of them broken and insensate but some regarding you with terror in their glazed eyes.

Your Zombie squad and Urziel have returned empty handed. Apparently the game in the area has become scarce, the Bandits seeming to have fled as well. They report several large pillars of smoke rising to the north and east

Inspecting the captured men you peer into their faces. The Risen props them against the wall, slapping their faces with cold water to make sure those capable of consciousness are fully alert.

Walking down the line of men you make a decision. Grabbing a young, pale faced man by the hair you drag him in front of the others, spinning him to face them. His plea for help and mercy is cut off by your massive hand on his throat, holding him high as you claws shimmer with a violet energy like mist. His eyes roll up and sink into his skull and his flesh becomes waxy and bloodless, the veins blackening as the very core of his soul is ripped away.

>+1 soul
>4 souls total

Tossing the drained corpse to the Ripper you smile as it rips it to shreds within seconds. The symphony of ripping flesh and cracking bone pleases your ears as you back into a shadowed corner. Your Risen steps forward with several articles of clothing and after a moment you step forward. Tall, pale, bearded and utterly terrifying you regard the men with human eyes.

"Now.. I don't get out in the day much but... My servants do. They tell me of smoke, flames in the distance. Strange men upon the road in the hundreds... Some of my servants were attacked and killed by these strangers. What do you know?"
You speak softly, running a nail along the wall, stone dust falling upon their heads.

They look at their feet for a moment, whispering among each other for s moment before one clears his throat.
"Kardelheim comes. They sent a raiding force south. Hundreds of men, beasts from the northern wastes. Ogres, trolls, beastmen... By the nine hells Ive heard they even have giants with them. Some of those barbarians can even become beasts if you believe the tales. King Thedric has mustered the army but it will be a while before they arrive. Until then.... We wait.."

You nod, appreciative of the mans honesty. Sophie approaches, her face paler than usual
"Did you say... Kardelheim? Are you sure? Not just some bandit or brigands?"

"No. They bear standards of the burning axe. They are here for war.... They must have stopped fighting each other for a bit.." he sighs, hanging his head, blood trickling from the gash in his scalp

Your eyes globe with a dark violet glow as the man in your grip gurgles in agony, his very soul and being torn apart and funneled into yours.

"Good. Gooood. Now... The town of Sverelfan. Tell me what you know. Who is in charge..who defends it.. Who leads the defense... How much.... Flesh... Inhabits the city? The Priest... Turelios? What can you tell me of him?"
You ask, gesturing broadly around.

The men put their heads together for a moment before nodding. The phrase "quicker death" reaches your ears more than once. The senior Guard clears his throat before speaking up

"The town.. Uh... The town is led by Mayor Hurod. Hes a pious man, tired of the death and chaos brought on by the gangs like that Black Cat bastard. He and Father Turelios and the Bishop run the town... The lawful side of town anyway. The Bishop is the guard-commander, an ex-cleric from the kings army. The town guard has between two to three hundred men depending on how many they muster. The town has about a thousand people altogether. Maybe two if you count the villages around here, CrowsFork, BlackWood, Harks Crossing and a few other hamlets."

You nod, absorbing the newfound knowledge. The guardsmen don't seem too brave despite their piousness.
"And the King? The Kardelheim raiders? What of them?"

Again the heads go together, again the muffled mumbling before they nod, the same guard clearing his throat.
"King Thedric is the ruler of Islavind. Hes young but a good ruler, kind and just. A seasoned warrior despite his years. He returned only three years past from the border wars with those Ceralise scum. The army he brings will sweep those barbarians back into the north. Nearly twenty thousand men can be mustered at any time.... I hope it is enough... The last time the northerners attacked they came with nearly ten thousand of the fiercest killers and beasts a man could dream of.... Things worse even than you..." he finishes, bowing his head respectfully

Worse even than yourself? Impressive pedigrees.

Supported but suggest modification. This goes out to the collective. We are who would serve. We fleshcraft them into superior men, perhaps borderline monsters. Why would they serve us? Because we can do what the leaders have not; rule. We can in time subvert the black cat, we can replace the tired old father, and we can take this town's petty militia and in the coming time, with potions and patience, alliances, we can create a small but vicious force.

They could embrace our mad dream, willingly forsake their humanity and freedom to protect their town and kin.

Our cost is so small, so minor. Their obedience, the bodies of the dead whom none shall miss anyway, and a tithe of degenerate scum who society wants gone...perhaps the invalid...hungry work this is.

"Sorry to disappoint you... But we will not. We have already dishonored ourselves enough. Let us die with clean consciouses."

You nod, accepting their decision. You cannot make them serve you unwillingly. Yet...

>>
>>1703780
That'd be better. Souls are definitely a little more rare to obtain.
>>
Ok im altering my own rules. Souls are worth twice their "weight" in bodies. So 2 souls will pay for 4 bodies worth of upgrade. The cost rises with how powerful/ large the buyer is. 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 4. Then 6 then 8 and so on until you must consume entire cities to feed your hunger

>>
>>1703799

Night Cursed, alright anons I think I got something lined out:

Thrane: Consume four or eight souls, split them half and half for upping necromancy and blood magic.

Give Setgash enough souls for necromancy

Give the Risen enough souls for elemental magic

Give the Ripper enough souls for getting whatever kind of magic anons think is best.

Finally: Sophie using alchemy and us using blood magic we make the Thing/Shoggoth/Elder Brain creature and pump it with as many souls as we want for giving it some magical aptitude as well as being something that people will see and roll a SAN check for
>>
>>1703848
What about our bone man? He needs magic.
>>
>>1703932

Setgash is our skeleton monster
>>
>>1703848
Good idea - except a few changes:
>Ripper gets plague magic - it could be a useful bargaining technique, in the realm of "do as I say or you're getting syphilis".
>Thrane gets domination instead of blood magic - we could use some more control over the living, allows us to take on foes that we don't have the manpower to deal with, like this army of Kardiel raiders.
>Risen gets infernal magic - opens up a new realm (literally) of possible interaction: we could make deals with fiends bigger and badder than us for favours, servants and abilities in exchange for souls.
>>
>>1704507

I'm fine with those changes, the ripper can make a haemoragic disease that makes someone who contracts it to start bleeding from everywhere:

Eyes, mouth, ears, nose, worse for open wounds, if there's a spit for blood to come out. Then blood will come out of it
>>
>>1704528
I think for the purposes of debilitating an army it would also be great to fatigue them - give them insomnia, atrophy them so they're hopeless with a sword, give them fever dreams so they're more receptive to being spoopered... we could have so many options!

And we could call this horrid plague The Gloom.
>>
>>1704550

Neat idea Mal, I have an idea for a place we could go. Let's find the most moralless, decadent, and rich city we can. There we can be the eccentric nobleman who has a thing for necromancy and likes making grand enterances on "carpets" made of blood
>>
>>1704550
>>1704528
In fact, we should give those abilities to the Aberration, that way the disease is fairly easy to spread over a wide area.
>>
>>1704565
We should probably discuss this on the Discord. Don't want to clog up the thread.
>>
>>1704576

Oh relax, not that bad. Besides the thread is already four days old and autosagging ever so slowly. And I can't get into the discord
>>
>>1704598
Fair enough. So, when you say about being the Marquis of Misery do you mean like an evil Batman? Deranged noble by day, terrifying blood beast by night?
>>
>>1704623

The Count of Carnage, the Duke of Debauchery, the Baron of Blood, the [insert aleterative noble title here]

That's one idea that we could go for, another I think is a warlord. And with how the barbarians are, it all depends on their way of thinking and we get to have our own army of barbarians
>>
>>1704623

What I mean is we be that one rich as fuck noble who throws hype ass parties and only goes out at night and is a recluse during the day.

Another idea is different than warlord or depraved noble: run an orphanage, get a supply of delicious delicious children
>>
>>1704627
The King of Karnage, the Lord of Lies, the Earl of Evil, the Master of Madness...

From how Cursed reacted to my shapeshifter, I think they're going to be very honour-focused with heaps of macho, like Vikings, Celts, Mongols, Russians etc. Basically their way is brute strength, no traps or tricks.

I think that as they take the high road we should take the low road - use treachery and spies, hit-and-run nightly raids, spread disease, set traps and ambushes, fight them in such a way that makes their strength count for nothing.
>>
>>1704654

Break their spirit? I like it, and we should be more brutal than them to signify that we could give less of a shit.

Kill their babies and kids for quick bites to eat, use turn the elderly into nothingless than a means to spread plauge, whenever they send soldiers we use gurreilla tactics and drain their souls for empowering us.

And toward the end, their leader(s) will realize the futility of struggling when they see legions of undead marching upon them.
>>
>>1704666
Why stop at just eating their children? We could animate them and use them as messengers. "Mummy, the vampire says he's going to kill you a lot slower than he killed me."

And with a lot of these sorts of tribes the village elders are deeply revered. They are leaders, sources of wisdom, channels to the gods themselves. To target them would wreck their morale.

Just mind the elderly warriors - usually they became that old by being the best.
>>
>>1704688

Should we find a way to make more vampires, I propose we sire their babies. It'd be like watching piranha with all them swarming to eat people.

And keep in mind that the elders are that: old. They're weaker than when they once was in their prime, we could kill them easier than the younger warriors.

In the present however, I say we kill the families belonging to the guard we just ripped the souls out of. And should their be a particularly defiant child we tell him that we made dear 'ol dad suffer before he died
>>
>>1704707
Having vampire babies could actually be useful from a strategic perspective: we could leave them at doors, people will take them in out of pity and then boom, we have operatives on the inside.

While I see the for-the-evulz appeal of going for their families, I don't see how it would benefit us. Just one shapeshifter almost killed us, and we could have a whole shitload right on our doorstep. I think we should go to one of the camps and inspect the condition of the attackers.
>>
>>1704723

On the contrary there IS a use for going after families. Should certain demons need sacrifices for summoning, we've got a wife or a kid or a baby to give. We have practice of our flesh crafting. And we have a meal for our zombies to give upgrades, and bones for our Bonewarden
>>
I for one think that, once we've actually learned how to sire vampires who are bound to us, we only claim the very best and brightest. Not just excellent soldiers and mages, but those who are brilliant and talented, regardless of their field. They are the very best humanity has to offer, and thus the only ones worthy of immortality.

>>1704730
We could always adopt a bunch of homeless kids and raise them into a loyal cult. It also helps when the immortal monster actually treats them like family and not a resource to be used and discarded when convenient.
>>
>>1704730
That'll be a good idea once we have some contacts in the Lower Planes, but right now that's not really an issue. And with babies we don't have a lot of flesh or bones to work with, not in comparison to groups of guards like the ones we just wiped the floor with.
>>
>>1704737

I can see benefits of teaching them necromancy and other magics. A bunch of fanatics that see us as a father figure at least and a god-like figure at the most with enough power

>>1704742

Babies are probably delicious though. Melt in your mouth

Weighing in on some thoughts.

Bone warden should gain necromancy to raise its own minions, only if it gains enough to be worth it, other wise perhaps more durability is the way to go.

Abberation could be a living bioweapon with plague magic, or we could allow it bloodmagic to endlessly alter itself as needed

Ripper, let's give it claws beyond sharp, so it can simply burst into giant creatures and shred them from the inside.

Urziel the bear; pyromancy and whatever it takes to become a larger bear.

The risen is early rough into the game to use necromancy by supporting its own squad and do battlefield resurrection.

Or....or...stay with me on this, we eat all the souls, and all the bodies we can. Leave the scraps for the rest.
>>
>>1704773
Interesting thoughts. Here's what I think.

Setgash raising minions allows us to control its minions by proxy, thus allowing us to easily let it and its squad do one job while we do another.

I think giving the Aberration blood magic would be a bit redundant - most of the time it'll be far away from anything it can eat, being mostly an eye in the sky so far.

The ripper already has super-sharp claws, it could probably use some illusion magic to allow it extra stealth. It could be our knife in the dark.

Urziel the fiery bear is a great idea, both for combat purposes and simply because of how cool it is.

The Risen I suggested infernal magic for because on one hand he's smart enough to be careful with dealing with fiends, and on the other hand if he gets possessed or something we can still kill him if we need to.
>>
>>1704777

Actually, we should ask what other magics that Skerath and Sophie know. They might know about demons
>>
>>1704778
Definitely worth a shot. Personally I think devils would be easier to work with (still assuming this all works like D&D, correct me if I'm wrong), as they're less RIP-AND-TEAR and more open to negotiation.
>>
>>1704784

Would it be of any use to eat imps? They're weak and pathetic things, make for a quick boost and meal
>>
>>1704791
Not necessarily - they may not have much flesh, but they innately have magical ability and their souls could be more useful than those of humans.
>>
>>1704794

That's why I want to eat one or a few of them. It'd possibly give a better deal for upgrading than a regular human soul
>>
>>1704791
It is worth mention that we are a vampire at the moment. There is power out there though, and that in itself has value beyond branding or simple existence. Becoming...more. Has a value all in its own. I am a fan of risen demonology, in particular it has no soul to bargin.
>>
>>1704802
Well, I thought you were just talking about our use. Demons won't want imp souls, as there are countless imps down there that they could just take. Human souls, however, are rarities down there. Worth trading for.
>>
>>1704826

Exactly, I just want to eat the shits. They'd be spicy and delicious in their souls, but for stronger demons we make deals with them
>>
>>1704835
You want to eat shit, hmm? Lads and lasses, welcome to 4chan.

And we're on the same page with dealing with infernals, as a fairly powerful vampire we can do better than scraping the barrel.

>>1704850

Wooooo
>>
So have we decided how to use the 13 bodies and 14 souls we have acquired? Souls are worth 2 bodies apiece and are necessary to begin learning magic for undead.
>>
>>1704958
to finally start hammering it out, I make a formal proposal.

Risen: Learn demonology if it lets us start tinkering with new minion upgrades. In particular, if we can summon demons/ possess our soulless minions to become demon hosts as an upgrade, lets go that route.

Ripper: If there is a field of magic, or even upgrade that gives it camouflage. Otherwise greater strength and damage are always of benefit.

Abberation: Greater senses and speed, we may want to observe the armies from a safe distance, and see where we can pick off scouts, or lead forces into each other. (long range telescopic sight, night vision, and precision hearing)

BoneWarden: strip the bones from the corpses as usual, and upgrade the shit out of its strength or defense. Its gonna have to get bigger if we are gonna fight the northerners.

Thrane: We might want to go further down the path of necromancy, or even blood magic, so we can extract souls more efficiently in combat, and control a larger pile of trash minions, or even raise minions with upgrades off the get go.

Past that, the skeleton upgrade would be beneficial, we are still fragile. Muscle and more would be useful. I feel if we Cursed allows it, the blood magic would allow us to flesh craft our aberration into our own body, giving us wings at the cost of a minion. Something to consider. Well, maybe not a total loss, though a crawling aberration is a sad aberration...I suppose we could stuff the remains into the ripper to give it horrible tangling close combat capability.

just some thoughts.
>>
>>1704970

I agree with the Risen and Ripper proposals. Abberation should get plague magic to spread across since it's able to fly, upping Thrane's necromancy and blood magic is fine as well as getting a skeleton/muscle upgrade.

But save the bodies for making the proposed Shoggoth/Elder brain monster using blood magic and alchemy. But I think since it's just flesh and skin and the like we can still give the bones to Setgash the Bonewarden
>>
>>1704970
wait.....wait...wait.....adjusting suggestion on risen. Demonology Bear. Let the bear be comsumed with hellfire and nightmares, the soul it gets will grant it enough intelligence to possibly speak and summon as well. Then we can tack pyromancy to that.

Risen can keep at the zombie game, leading hordes. which one can only wonder how many bodies are in the graveyard.
>>
>>1704976
alright. I agree on this, save for the shoggoth, and here is why. We have blood magic and fleshcrafting. Why not just improve our abberation into a flying Shoggoth like creature instead of creating another entity? It is already 2/3rds the way there, and the mobility+ plague magic+ new form would put it into a tier of capability near that of our warden, setgash.

also, I am getting really sold on demoic pyromancer bear. totally worth 2 souls.
>>
>>1704976
>>1704970
>>1704982
Agreed +give Setgash Necromancy, so that he leads his own spooky skeleton troop, and maybe up his int again with the bones he will consume so that he/it makes a better commander.
>>1704970
>Other (wings, extra limbs, new body mutations, etc)
We can just get wings that way, no need to sacrifice a minion
>>1704994
I like the abberation as a scout, I`d prefer to create a different entity.
>>1704982
Demon bear is fucking awesome
>>
>>1704994
The initial idea for the elder brain/shoggoth was that it could be an undead brain-server to vastly expand and extend our control of minions.

So, while the Aberration gives us some air superiority and tactical advantage, the insane mass of flesh that is the Abomination is more like a secret siege weapon/super computer.
>>
>>1705004
I think getting the Abomination/ Shoggoth airborne is very doable. Wings/ gas sacks allows us to use it to rain down horror on our enemies, and possibly have a flying necromantic command airship.
>>
>>1704970
Alright, I'll agree to most of this, but I'm gonna point out parts I wanna change.
Risen:Peronally, I want him to learn pyromancy or lighting or something offensive. He's more of our field commander so having an ability that's more then just brute strength and intelligence would be a big plus.

Ripper:He should not get any souls what so ever, just bodies. His point going to speed, strength and sense. The ripper needs to be like the cavalry, very fast, very damaging and can react quickly.

Bonewarden:Bones can go to making him stronger, more durable and more intelligent but would should go to magic, mostly necromamcy at this stage to make a skeleton crew.

Zombie boys: Thay should get some of the cake, making them into an independ group we can send out to do things. 5 in total 2 so far are tanks, make one fast and damaging, the other high sense snd speed the last sink some intelligence and magic, mostly offensive into him.

Well that solves that. Now this telepathic hub, what is the desire for it? What the intention for it to do. Just clarify for me plz
>>
>>1705194
I've a potentially unpopular but very practical suggestion. Our erstwhile necromancer may be able to meet the role of command and control nexus as our base "material" for such an effort. Pull soul and stick back in body. So long as we can find a way to mitigate skill loss, she already is adept at controlling a larger horde than us with much less skill and talent. Plus her minions are auto upgraded.

Again, a thought for down the road if we are pursuing the mother brain/ shoggoth route.
>>
>>1705210
Also 5 points into Skeleton? Jesus. Hell be huge. Is that thud intention or to increase durability?
>>
>>1705212
The masses seem to think it could help us control countless undead by proxy. A slave controller to our master.
>>
>>1705212 It should be like a telepathic main server. Our ability to have telepathic communication with our minions should be improved and it should also enable our minions to communicate with each other telepathically.
>>1705216
Skeleton (3) and durability (2) I just didn`t have durability in that list...
>>
>>1705212
The brain hub/flesh server acts as guiding intelligence for all of our less cunning minions. The second purpose to this creation is to link the minds and senses of each minion together, giving them greater unity and defense against surprise attacks. So, effectively, it gives every undead we create a +1 to their Intelligence and Senses.

As it expands and grows, it can also become a booster for Thrane himself, allowing him to raise many more minions, at least as long as those additional minions remain within range of the Abomination's control, which will in turn expand as it itself grows.

Ah, the airship was me. I figured if we have a unit who's existence is to buff, it could serve a secondary function. Considering the Abberation seems to mostly fly and observe, to expand its role to transport and buff didn't seem too much of a stretch. And it's suitably horrific. Regarding the wealth of bodies and souls you posses, your hunger becomes too much to control. Falling into the feast with your minions, blood, flesh and souls flow freely among you all, bodies swelling and glowing as the power surges within you all.

Your body shifts and warps, bones snapping audibly before reforming, thick and hard as bars of iron. Your muscles bulge under your skin, threatening to rip free the skin before surface of your skin ripples. Plates of bone emerge from your hide, forming a interlocking armor of bone. Jagged plates and points coat your body from head to toe, your claws extending slightly and curving, your head covered in a thick helm of bone, the material fusing with your skin. At the end you resemble some giant, armored demon, nearly ten feet tall and as broad as two men. Your eyes glow with a violet and scarlet flame, trails of energy cascading from the eye pits of your new skull. Knowledge and power forces its way into your skull as you scream in ecstatic agony

Your Bonewarden howls silently, violet flame shooting from its single eye and maw, scorching the stone above it as it thrashes. Bones slide across the floor to it, shooting into its mass before flowing like water. Its bones thicken and join together more sturdily, its spine and shoulders spreading braces throughout its interior. The plates of bone that make up its outside visibly spread and thicken, jagged points emerging as the long, clawed arms creak and pop, cracking the floor under their weight. Suddenly it ceases all movement, turning to face you as a group of skeletal figures unfold fork its back, holding long spears and shorswords of molded bone.

"Setgash serves you, Master Thrane"

Your Abberation twitches as the souls are absorbed into its being, squealing from its horrifying maw as its body visibly begins to decay. Rot and disease breed and spread in seconds, falling to the ground in hissing clumps that eat away the stone like acid. Its wings and muscles grow, becoming stronger and more solidly anchored to the closest thing the creature has to a skeleton. Its eyes multiply, popping out in clusters on long tentacles all over its body as it shudders, sneezing a spray of foul green mist onto a frightened rat. The creature immediately falls to the ground, twitching and bleeding from every orifice as its body swells.

His eyes take on a blood red glow and he presses his palm against the wall. A ornate, eye watering vigil begins burning into the wall, arcane and infernal sigils lit by burning stone. He pants heavily as he turns to you, bowing heavily as the lines of burning stone finish crafting a nine pointed sigil into the stone behind him.

In the feeding frenzy and confsuion, several important parts are lost in the shuffle. Spinal cords, brain stems, entire heads, scraps of flesh, thrown and scattered they begin inching together. Infused with your blood and magic they begin squirming into each other, forming a pulsating mass of Grey matter and flesh, squirming into the corner fearfully like a giant slug. It watches, with a single underdeveloped eye as its family snarl and feed, growing more powerful by the second. Sophie approaches it curiously, eying your feast carefully as she tentatively offers it a scrap of flesh. A tentative pseudopod of flesh extends and carefully takes the scrap, pressing it onto its side where it joins the mass.

I vote for attacking a near by village, we need to test our powers and to get more undead for us to play with.

But leave Setgash behind with Sophie to teach her necromamcy and to expand our home on a massive scale, we need space and we need rooms.

Have our guy in the city ask around about the raiders, seeing what they are like, their fighting style and their army composition.

This also raises another point for me, I feel like out current Zombie boys should be raised in intelligence and such to be sub commanders under the risen.

Going undetected is going to be a little difficult.

>BlackWood. Thrane, Ripper, Risen, Urziel, Zombie Fun Squad.

The village of BlackWood is nestled into a small valley several miles off the main road. Logging trails and small paths lead deep into the darkened woods. The inhabitants reside in sturdy, low built log cabins partially sunk into the earth. The Kardel invasion has prompted security for their village as a few dozen town guardsmen and burly men with axes patrol the outskirts and streets with torches and weapons ready.

You crouch atop a large, flat rock slightly above the town, peering down through the treelike as your minions fall in alongside you. Urziels flames burn lightlessly, a sense of dark heat the only indication of the infernal creatures presence in the dark. The Risen and Ripper flank you, weapons and claws ready as they wait for your signal, the silent zombies hefting their heavy blades over their broad shoulders.

With a silent command, you and your minions disappear into the shadowy forest, creeping closer to the men inch by inch. Despite your bulk oh come upon them like a shadow, snatching a man from the shadows so quickly he is dead before his torch clatters to the ground. Your claws slide from his chest as you spit black blood onto his face, his skin darkening and thickening ,muscles swelling as he stands, gripping his weapon and staggering away in search of prey.

Snarls and growls before ripping flesh reach your ears as the Ripper and Urziel sink their claws into men before ripping them apart. Those bodies will never walk again.

The flash of a razor sharp blade and the snick of cutting flesh sounds as the Risen leaves headless bodies behind him. His heavy blade shears through flesh and bone like they were butter.

A second, third, tenth, twentieth man falls to your claws and fangs. Your massive form hidden to them until they are already dead. Blood cakes your armor plating, dripping in thick, sticky droplets to pool upon the ground as you stand atop a cabins roof, watching the torches around the village go dark, one by one. Shadowy figures emerge from concealment, bloodied weapons or claws ready for the slaughter to come.

Standing in the center of the town you wave your minions forward as they break down doors and smash through roofs, hauling out screaming men, women and children. Those that resist are beaten down with heavy fists and the hafts of axes and spears.

Raising your hands you clench your claws, swirling violet energy gathering around your claws. You struggle to hold the consuming energy back as it builds and builds. Men and women begin peeking out from their doors, watching their neighbours carried off by blood soaked undead. A young woman makes eye contact with you for a brief moment before you unclench your hands, releasing the spell.

Like a wave of dark, violet mist it spreads with a mind of its own, burrowing through windows and under barred doors, forcing in through the mouths and eyes as a horrible wail begins emanating from the afflicted.

With violent jerks their souls are torn free and dragged into your hands, absorbed into your dark being. Hauling the captives over their shoulders or prodding them along with weapons your minions begin falling back, victorious on this raid.

>gift of 14 living humans to abomination.

At a wave of your hand the Zombies wade into the group, selecting fourteen of the younger men and women, beating those that struggle into submission. One of your zombies plucks a small dagger from its chest before shattering the eye socket of the man who wielded it.

Pushing the prisoners one by one towards the Abomination happily burbling in the corner, you watch in fascination as it envelops the head of a helplessly restrained man, a wet crack and horrid sucking, slurping sound coming from its depths. It shudders and spits out chunks of shattered skull as its body shifts, the living brain tissue and spinal cord merged with its own intellect.

>"This one feels.... Invigorated... Are there more for this one? Please?"

The headless and drained body is hacked to pieces by a conscripted zombie, carefully and diligently feeding the Abomination the chunks of flesh.

A screaming woman is dragged forth, pushed headfirst into the Abominations maw...

Hours later the Abomination sits bloated and contented, spitting out skull chunks as it digests its meal

>"Delicious...."

>Abomination absorbing new tissue. New abilities will be available after it is done.

Your Risen sits in a isolated crypt chamber, Sophie and yourself watching curiously as his fingers score infernal sigils into the floor. The eyewatering nine points glow with a deep crimson light as a struggling man is brought in. Forced to kneel in the center of the concentric rings of symbols he struggles in vain against the magical restraints. His jaw locks as the Risen chants, funneling power into the rings of symbols, drawing a long dagger he drags a nail along its edge, the blade glowing with the inscription of thousands of runes. With a flick of his wrist it buries up to the hilt in the mans heart, his eyes immediately igniting as his soul is offered up and greedily consumed. His body begins falling in upon itself, flame boiling as he burns to ashes and cinder. Rising from the pile of glowing ashes and bone fragments is a twisted, bipedal figure, scrawny and winged, flame curling from its eyes. Large, black batlike wings emerge from its back, long curved claws like serrated needles and small, hooves feet. A long pointed taill curl curls around its feet as it chitters to your Risen before kneeling, breathing smoke and ash.

A 5 into fangs? Jesus that's a scary mouthful.

Also, I imagine that even though Setgash has no points invested into damage, due to his sheer size and weight he'd still be able to crush men under foot right?
>>
>>1707252
Second, I'm so sorry cursed.
>>
>>1707330
Setgash can crush men, horses, small buildings alike under his blows. Hes huge.

Oh wait! Add in the points to make the original fun squad zombies signaifaclly smarter, stronger and durable, equalling them all out so they all have the same stats.
>>
>>1707252
Jesus Christ. Alrighty then. Lets party.
>>
>>1707374
Damn, what would happen if we upgraded his damage?
>>
>>1707381
He would probably develop larger, sharper claws, perhaps a large scorpion like tail, a bone sword for an arm, etc. He will probably be the Frontline vanguard of your future armies. He will be the one to take on the massive enemies (giants, dragons, ogres, etc)
>>
>>1707397
Oh yes bby

We should get on that. We should keep upgrading his magical abilities too, to the point where he could outnumber entire armies with raised skeletons and their dead comrades.
>>
>>1707405
He already has a group of 50 skeletal warriors that spawn from his back and ride him into battle.
>>
>>1707412

>>
Considering our current rate of growth, I'm interested in knowing how the undead haven't killed everything that lives at this point. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the various holy Gods out there.

>>1707381
A skeleton to surpass metal gear.
>>1707374
Hey...so what would happen if we soul drained the imp, or fed it to our hellbear?
>>
>>1707431
Exactly. The various Gods of righteousness empower Paladins and Clerics to strike down undead enmasse
>>
>>1707443
Imps have no souls. Demonic beings are soulless by nature. Theyre the currency in the nine hells.
>>
>>1707449

>>
>>1707445
We're going to need a lot of favor from the dark gods then.
>>
>>1707454
You CAN eat it but it wouldn't do much. Its a flying hellrat.
>>
>>1707462
So what you're saying is we need to summon bigger demons to eat?
>>
>>1707467
If you want. It would have to be a higher demon to be really worth the effort of killing And eating it.
>>
>>1707476
Can we eat Satan?
>>
>>1707478
Which one? There are a LOT of higher demons, Arch-Daemons, Daemon Princes, Hell Knights and imprisoned Dark Gods the further down you go into the hells. Killing them on their home turf would be... Exceedingly difficult.
>>
>>1707483

Well shit, guess it'd need a lot of power to eat one of them. So Cursed how's the update coming? Are we distracting you too much?
>>
>>1707494
So outta curiosity....flying hell rat. What knowledge of another realm could it provide our abomination...? Lets feed it. Even if simple it will be useful.

Finally, blood of my blood for Sophie as a reward. We also fleshcraft her to gain some bitching claws and unnatural height...maybe some fangs and better vision. Still living, but better. Still looking like herself, but our emmisary and eventual holy magic hunter, considering our unique predicament.

You gather your Lieutenants in the central chamber of the Crypt, your lesser minions lining the walls, weapons planted between their feet. You spread your hands, funneling souls into their bodies and your own, the ecstatic, blistering agony as your veins ignite filling your body as you are forced to change.

Your limbs and chest swell and bulge, muscle, bone and tendon thickening as your strength grows exponentially. No creature that you know of can match your might. Your armor plated hide thickens, broader and denser than any mortal forged armor, darkening to a glossy black shell of bone as tendrils of crimson weave through its surface. You stand nearly twelve feet tall now, a hulking beast from the nightmares of humanity.

Your Claws extend and thicken, as long and sharp as scimitars. The edges shimmer in the light, as hard as steel hut sharper than any razor. Like black steel they hiss as they cut the air, merciless blades of pure death. Your fangs curl from your massive jaws, spikes of white bone and enamel as long as daggers, edges serrated and wet in the dim candlelight.

You tense your muscles as energy courses through you, your very nerves and tendons aflame as they are rewired, your body being geared again for blinding speed despite your bulk.

Your eyes glow with trails of Violet, Scarlet and deep, ruddy Crimson as knowledge is forced through your mind again. You howl in blissful agony as your magic grows like a wildfire.

He smiles broadly before experimentally loosing a bolt of mixed energy at the wall, scoring a molten hole in the stone.

>Ripper

Your Abberation squeals as its body drastically changes. Bone is finally forced into more of its body, its tentacles band tendrils forced to anchor to something as its body becomes denser. The outer surface becomes a mass of leathery tendrils that harden into a coiled mass as the dissolved bone is redistributed to its hide. Its wings lengthen and broaden, nearly thirty feet across and as heavily muscled as as a gargoyles.

Thrane- Vampire lord and all around badass. In this corner of the world anyway.
Risen- your right hand and now experienced combat mage and demon expert. Armed with a big ass Khopesh.
Ripper- a Four Armed, near invisible super ghoul.
Setgash- A giant cyclopean CentaurPede made from bones and the size of a small house. Carries around up to 50 skeletal warriors.
Aberration- Flying plague Shoggoth with very thick skin.
Urziel- flaming giant demon bear. Breathes hellfire and is ludicrously strong.
1 Imp- a flying hellrat. Throws fireballs and can easily posses a human for a boost to its powers. Costs 1 live human to summon. Risen has a max of 5.
Zombie Fun Squad- 5 Durable, intelligent Zombies. 2 extra durable. The risens commando squad.
Abomination-a mass of brain tissue that may or may not be exceedingly adorable if you like giant flesh monsters that are polite.
26 Zombies. Regular durable undead.
30 Skeletal Warriors- armed with bone swords and spears. They are unique to Setgash and are extensions of himself.
Sophie's 28 thrall warriors- armored and armed with scavenged weapons and tools they are uniquely durable because of Sophie's alchemy. Very flammable though.
>>
>>1707615

Beautiful, now then.

Let's test blood of my blood on Sophie and Cursed you forgot to do Setgash's +4 with plague magic, but I think I've got one you'll probably like:

Setgash's form begins to tremble, the bones of his form shaking like wind chimes as they clank and crack while his eye glows with a sickly green glow. His bones begin to blacken with decay and rot, despite it they still appear strong. As the bones blacken a fume of green coils out from Setgash's mouth, it reaches to one of the captive's who ends up breathing it in.

The human begins to seize up and convulse as he begins to cough up blood while boils and cysts grow from on his skin which is blackening with necrosis. Not long afterwards, the diseased human ceases movement as it lets out a gurgling last breath.
>>
You sit on a sarcophagus in your human form, watching your Risen throw scraps of bone at one of Setgash's warriors. The chunks plunk from its hollow head with unerring precision. Your Ripper melts from the ceiling before snatching up a rat whole and swallowing it, blood trickling from its jaws.

Sophie tinkers with one of her minions, a cascade of violet energy swirling as she seals its armor to its flesh, the rusted metal bonding to the bone itself. Her Grave Thrall stands nearby like a butler, holding a tray of tools for its mistress.

Your Abomination gurgles and bubbles in the corner, digesting its massive meal. Already new growths can be seen on its wet, sluglike back. Small nodules of Grey matter and bone extend like horns as it focuses on a Zombie that you have assigned to tend to it. The creature seems annoyed that it has no success yet.

Your human prisoners in the depths of the crypt cry and beg for release, their families, food, trivial human things. You twirl a long, curved bone dagger in your hands and contemplate your options for the night.

Earlier you said about her knowing some alchemy. Can she make any potions or anything that we could use?

If not, just check out the raiders.
>>
>>1707863
We should probably send the majority of our forces to one camp and send the Ripper to the other, to carry out recon.
>>
>>1708064

Speaking of the raiders Mal, think we can fuck them up yet?
>>
>>1707668
Blood of my blood + fleshcraft Sophie just a bit. Give her claws to aid her art, and a greater stature. Reinforce her bones but leave the mortal living essence. Perhaps some wings like our aberration. See
>>1707532
Past that, we should blood of my blood 5 villagers to transform into fleshcrafted warriors. Instead of focusing on horror, let's go for raw combat capability. Eschew aesthetics in favor of perfection of form and violence. Leave the faces though, we send them to villages as infiltraitors
>>
>>1708148
I reckon we can, yeah - might need a bit of help dealing with the numbers and the REALLY big monsters, but consider this:
>They don't know we're coming - they probably know we exist because of the one that bitchslapped us, but they may think we bled out or got caught in the sun or something, they won't see an attack coming
>We'll attack in the night, where the guard will consist of a skeleton crew. We can overpower them without too much trouble, and slit all their throats in their sleep
>They aren't known for fighting undead all too often, and they'll probably be underequipped to face us - no vamp hunters, no paladins, no silver weapons, probably aren't even too fussed about holy symbols
>They're also facing local forces, so their warriors will be worn down from fighting all day. We might even meet the bishop on the battlefield.
>>
>>1708284
Cursed said on the discord that Sophie will be limited by not being undead - I say we take her soul out, mix it with another and put it back. Then we can upgrade her a lot more easily.
>>
>>1708415
It's a nice quick solution, but we are powerful but weak against certain issues like daylight and holy magic. She is not. Mortals loose sanity with added souls, but gain power.

The proposed upgrades to her through flesh crafting are light weight and prep work for later efforts. The same is true for the fleshcrafted infiltraitors, we practice with them first. At the end of the day, we may be able to harness far greater power from the living servants than is expected when it comes to handling " burning anthrax".

To this end I propose the fleshcrafted villager experiment. We take...oh...5.

step 1. Blood of my blood control
Step 2. Fleshcrafted to "perfection." made in our image.
Step 3. We pose as one of them with a demon. See if the risen can use the bear to channel his powers for better results.
Step 4. On another we feed the mortal a soul.

Also side experiment: feed the imp a soul.

Second experiment. Feed abomination an imp.

They are all the same, but after our efforts we have 3 of the same warriors, and two experimentals.
>>
>>1708483
What you said about the cons of undeath would be valid in reference to someone else, but this is just a necromancer - she doesn't need to get out much.

However, I do like the idea of using Urziel as a catalyst for the Risen's demonology. Maybe we could lure a greater demon to possess the bear so we can directly communicate with it, perhaps to garner a deal.
>>
>>1708483
I agree with everything but Number 3 and feeding the imp a soul. Guys we don't control demons, we just summoned them.

I wanted, since holy magic is out, pick two skeletons one will be our druid, learning natural magic, elemental, shapshifting and weather magic. The other will become Rune mage, mostly becoming a black smith so we can equip our weaker zombies with god teir weapons.
>>
>>1708581
I like this
>>
>>1708581
Fair. My primary reason for a living champion is to explore its limits, and see if we can pervert holy magic to our use.

> Go through all of the remaining captives and find those who have the potential to use magic. Bind them in blood as well, then feed them souls.
> Those captives who are of no use can be used as offerings in further demonic summonings.

I just got back, and I'm surprised none of you went for increasing our Risen's demonology, or giving Urziel the intelligence to actually use his powers.

I'm thinking that, in Urziel's case, we give him the ability to shape-shift like Thrane can so he can communicate properly with others while reverting to his 'normal' state when in battle.

Bueno

While away I realized something we could do with fleshcrafting: who wants to recreate I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream on people who are particularly annoying?
>>
>>1709660
I would say
>Blood of my blood Sophie and Make some Flesh horrors.

Blood of my blood increases Sophie's power right? Don't want to just strip her free will for no reason yet. Maybe offer to flesh craft away any thing she doesnt like about herself or offer improvements in anything she wants for her loyalty.

No I am not trying to Waifu her. But having a skilled Necromancer with confidence in themself, both appearance and skills, especially if we can make her drop dead gorgeous, would be insanely useful for infiltration of courts and other major political circles.

I mean with Necromancy comes a certain understanding of other magical schools. Pass her off as a young naive traveling mage with a body built for sin, and boom easy in to a nobles well guarded home, and since she isnt undead it wouldnt trigger any holy symbols or wards.

Although we may have other options, also she may want to be flesh crafted into something hideous and abominable. In which case MEH.

Wait... we could...we could turn her into a Vampire with Devourers Gift... but that is way too dangerous and far too deep into Waifu territory, there is no advantage to it.
>>
>>1709805

That sounds....like a smart idea actually, good thinking
>>
>>1709793
Maybe we can make our own 'art'? A big gallery hall in our lair where we turn the bodies of holy men and women into hideous statues, where their souls will remain imprisoned forever.

>>1709805
We might turn her into a Vampire like us, but not for a while. She has to earn that privilege.
>>
>>1709861

It would be pretty good to have an art gallery like that. When we kill bigger things like giants and dragons, I propose we form a throne of iron and bone. Let's make a mix of the Iron Throne and the Skull Throne to sit menacingly on
>>
>Blood of My blood.

You stand and beckon Sophie to your side. The slender Ceralise exile immediately sets aside her tools and rushes to your side, head downcast respectfully.

"What may I do for you my lord"
She says softly, turning her eyes up slightly.

You regard the young necromancer carefully, regarding her pale, scarred face and dark, clear eyes. The faintest swirlings of violet energy are visible to you in their depths.

"Sophie.. I have a gift for you. A gift of blood and power. With this gift... You will serve me in this life and the next. Your life will be mine. Your death will be mine. Do you accept this gift my servant?"
You ask, idly stroking a raven lock of hair as she considers the offer. With her eyes bright and determined she meets your gaze.

"I accept, Lord Thrane. You have shown me power I could never imagine or reach on my own. I accept this gift"
She says boldly, kneeling at your feet.

Smiling broadly you lift your wrist to your mouth, sinking your fangs into the cool flesh. Releasing the dripping limb you offer it to her, your dark eyes a challenge.

"Drink."
You command, watching her for any sign of refusal.

You are impressed as she grips your wrist in both hands, drinking greedily from your leaking veins. Her eyes shoot open, pupils dilating as the powerful liquid is absorbed into her body. She collapses, hacking and coughing as her body mutates slightly, becoming stronger and more hardy. Her nails darken and grow, her veins pulsing black for several heartbeats before she slowly arises. Her legs shake as the newfound power pulses through her veins. She gasps as your mind touches hers, affirming that she is now, irrevocably your servant.

"Thank you master.... I feel.... More." she whispers, touching her lips where droplets of your blood hiss and boil.

With a wordless command your Zombies drag in 5 of the remaining 18 prisoners. Young men and women look up at you in terrified horror as your fingers on one hand shift into razor sharp claws. Sophie smiles and beckons forth her Grave thrall with his tray of tools.

"We have bloody work to do Sophie. Bloody work indeed"

Your Zombies easily restrain the first subject, a young, blond haired man with a smattering of fuzz upon his chin. His pleads for mercy and release fall on deaf ears as your claws sink into his skin. The screams of agony are music to your ears as you peel away skin and muscle, droplets of your blood sparking growth and change where your claws go. His body warps, bone cracking in half before resetting into new configurations. His jaw dislocates as he screams, tongue coiling from his mouth like a serpent as you fuel the growth. Crooked fangs like knives emerge from his jaws as his head elongates and widens, skin falling away tie reveal the wet, red flesh beneath.

Coating a claw in your blood you drive it into his spine, scorching his nerves. He spasms uncontrollably as his nerves and tendons are changes by force, his scream of agony becoming more like a beasts roar than a mans plea.

His arms, chest and back bulge horrifically with muscle, the skin ripping like paper as the new growth exceeds its capacity. His finger bones are sculpted into bone claws nearly a foot long, hard enough to pierce plate and sheer through bone.

A final gift is given to the twitching monstrosity, a gift of your blood and ability to heal. As your blood soaked claw pierces its heart it arches its back so hard its spine breaks, screeching in mindless agony as the bone forcibly resets. The gaping puncture seals shut behind your claws exit, not a single drop of blood escaping.

You smile broadly at the success as your Zombies struggle to drag the hulking brute away. Motioning for the next you smile at the awestruck Sophie, wiping a droplet of blood from her cheek and licking your fingers.

"Shall we begin again?".....

>18. Alchemical lab to DIE for! *maniacal laughter*

As Sophie recovers from the sudden and intense changes to her body, your Zombies grip tools and supplies and make their way to the chamber she has been using as a bedchamber.

Clearing away the mouldy blankets and cloaks they begin carving into the wall, expanding the room and creating worktables and shelves from sarcophagi and headstones. Torches and candles are hung along the walls to brightly light the room while Sophie's various alchemical supplies are arranged neatly on the newly made stone shelves. By the time they finish the Lab has a secondary chamber off to the side where Sophie's new bedchamber is readied with new blankets and washed cloaks forming a soft mattress. Her lab itself is outfitted with four worktables fitted with restraints while her shelves and cubbies are filled with scrolls, books and potions. Her tools hang from hooks in the wall next to a basin of water.

Her Squeal of shock and delight warms your icy heart as the young necromancer claps her hands likes a happy schoolgirl.

>1. Forge is fucked

Turning their attentions to the dismal state of some of their weapons your choose a chamber near the newly made tunnels, knowing your living minions require air.

Bringing looted supplies into the chamber they quickly begin setting up piles of hard, dry firewood in the corners, a makeshift chimney of clay and wood leading up to the surface and a block of hard stone as an anvil. Their progress goes well until a errant spark from a torch lights a fire in the gathered fuel for the forge. Rushing out your Zombies abandon the precious hammers and tongs, the special tools melting in the intense heat. By the time the raging fire has burnt out the forge is a ruined husk of scorched stone, melted metal and ashes.

After commanding the offending zombies to bang themselves in the head with bone clubs you rub your temples with your thumbs.

Fucking idiots...

these. shouldnt be too bad. Also we need to know whats going on quick and might have to raid those villages before the northers do.

on a meta note I feel its a bit...not quite disrespectful, but unacceptable to immediatly go for the forge again. we dun goofed, we roll with it. Who knows, in the next village we raid we might find a food forge master.

I wonder if we can find a way to preserve/implant certain memories from our victims or from particularly skilled minions who fall in battle?

Maybe that could become another function of our Abomination once its full power becomes manifest? The memories and personalities that make our most elite minions who and what they are can be preserved within its mass, and they can be reborn again with the proper investments of flesh, souls, the blood of Lord Thrane and a little brain matter from the Abomination.

I imagine this is what Thrane must have looked like when he first crawled out of his grave. It's not a bad look to be honest. Not too ostentatious or visually overwhelming, but still spooky and unnatural.

Right now, with all of his bone armor, bulging muscle, razor fangs and massive claws, he must look more like one of those Berserkers from Gears of War.

Now that our necromantic powers have grown mighty enough to support a small army of monstrous undead, I think we should try to create an honor guard of death knights. We'll have the perfect opportunity to snag some dead human knights once the army clashes with the northern marauders. And heavy cavalry with no fear of pain or death and potential black magic would be a devastating tool for expanding our power and crushing our enemies.

We should definitely invest time and souls into creating incorporeal undead. They'd make perfect spies and assassins. We'd just need to make sure they have the right mix of intelligence, stealth abilities, and dark magic. ADD IT TO THE LIST MY FRIENDS!!

Now that we're considering turning Sophie into our first 'child', we should draw up some standards which a person must meet before being eligible for such a privilege.

> Possessing potent magic or great skill at arms?
For obvious reasons, we aren't going to grant immortal service to some random schmuck. Our chosen few must be the cream of the crop.

> Tactical/strategic ability?
As our powers and the number of the undead we command grow, we are going to need generals and lieutenants to lead them into battle when we are not personally present. Even if they themselves are not pure combat or deadly magicians, a leader who can outwit and outmaneuver his or her opponents can be just as lethal.

> High intelligence?
Also incredibly obvious. A vampire who cannot learn from the mistakes of the past is a poor investment on our part.

> Incredible willpower?
Forever is an awful long time, and our dark children must have the ability to whether the decades and centuries without falling prey to madness or the Thirst to which all vampires are heir.

> Resourcefulness?
There may come a time when our most powerful minions are cut off from us, and us from them. They must be able to survive and even thrive without us needing to pamper them or constantly look after them.

> Ambition?
While this might seem detrimental, it is not. Our vampires NEED to have some goal or aspiration to pursue over the centuries barring complete subservience to Thrane. Otherwise, the boredom will drive them bananas. I don't care whether its a pursuing the Arts, mastering every weapon known, erecting a cathedral of flesh and bone in our honor, or just collecting stamps. Everybody needs a hobby.

> Creativity?
Goes claw and claw with the traits mentioned above. Also, nobody likes an immortal stick in the mud. A blood-sucking prince of the night without a bit of flair or pizzazz is a poor vampire indeed.

> Loyalty?
More obvious and glaring that a gleaming silver crucifix in the face. Our minions must be dedicated to a fault. It's one thing to offer a new perspective and have differing opinions, but its another to plot behind our back. Likewise, loyalty is a circle. We must be willing to go the distance for our children, like a good and responsible Father should.

> Charisma?
Despite our power, there are still nations will armies and hordes vastly outnumbering our forces. Being able to manipulate and control mortals is a valuable skill, which should be nurtured among our get.

> Useful skills outside of battle?
We aren't going to be at war forever, y'know, and if our vampires can learn trades and crafts that can benefit us while occupying their immortal minds, mores the better.

Absolutely. It's also possible that we can create spies and assassins that are not incorporeal/invisible, and instead masquerade themselves as living breathing mortals through a mix of shape-shifting and magic.

I wonder if we can snag ourselves some Fae to work on? They are notorious for their mercurial natures and forms, and an undead Fae with a complete disregard for holy wards and powers would be scary as hell to humans.
>>
Spit-balling some more; who else thinks we could create an immortal race of beings who are do not necessarily need to feed, nor fear the touch of sunlight? Maybe, rather than feeding on flesh, they could consume magic? Or alternatively, they would only need to feed on flesh/blood/souls/memories/breath to fuel their higher abilities?

Maybe a combination of the Githyanki, Dark Elves, Norse, and ancient Middle-Eastern nations, but undead. It could be the seeds of a whole new culture! BRILLIANT!!

Umbramancy is another path of magic we should look into. Who knows? With enough power and souls, we could blot out the sun!

Of course, I'd never suggest doing so for long periods of time. As awesome as an undead nation might sound, all of the tasty morsels we enjoy need things like crops and fair weather to prosper.

Continuing on the thoughts of experimenting on Fae and manipulating the primordial darkness itself, we could spawn creatures that are literally shadow made manifest in flesh and bone. Who gives a fuck about sunlight? To these nightmarish crimes against nature and the Gods, the sun is just a candle that is destined to be snuffed out.

Spamming shenanigans aside, this would be the perfect insult to all the goodly-aligned churches/divinities.

Grab a bunch of priests, flesh-craft their bodies together in a horrific mockery of an angel, fill it with poison and disease and hate for the living, then set it loose upon the rest of their order. It's perfect! We can even give it a cute little angelic name, like Gabriel or Azrael.
