Finally a place with [Cover]. When walking into certain objects you automatically have cover which reduces damage by bullets. You can crouch behind 1/2 cover to increase resistance. Full cover isn't modified by crouch or prone. Look out for this symbol on enemies!

The note is part of a series of schematics and

"Preliminary tests show the GST-0394 aka "Havager" holds well when wielded by the AHU-0943 units. Most other vibro-blades have not handled the stresses they inflict when wielded.

AHU-0943 Units have cleaved full Boneboar cadavers single-handedly and the Havager showed no signs of significant wear.

On further study its seems the AHU-0943 while wielding tremendous strength and capable of amazing dexterous feats seriously lacks the mental capacity to fully use a GFE efficiently. No further progress has been made utilizing the stems. While capable of being sustained with Vitamer they produce too few neural-waves to fully connect with the GFE and are unable to keep a sustainable charge. Hence while extremely durable if a Units's GFE is significantly depleted systems power down including support systems to sustain the stem.

Further study is needed to see if more intelligent life or different neural configurations enable better charging efficacy"

About Aegis and it's violent expulsion. Unlike its smaller cousins that only emit a field barely centimeters above the skin, the Aegis exudes a Gyre field 14 meters in diameter on average. If a foe or friend alike with a GFE enter the field they are repelled with their field taking damage. Both fields expend energy doing so but the effect is most pronounced on the smaller GFE. In some instances a smaller field resists the repelling force and the LA-GFE expends more energy trying to keep itself stable. In most cases the larger one almost always wins out with minor issue.

Linking up to a LA-GFE only costs 1ap and can be done by either party. Linking is done per person
Once linked all participants use the LA-GFEs energy and limit.

Entering a foe (or friend's sans Link-Up) Large Area Gyre Field (abbr. LA-GF) causes the the larger field to expel the smaller one. For Agents that means if you enter an Aegis field you will take force damage to be expelled out of the field. Damage is calculated by the Limits of each GFE like so

[(LI:GFEa + LI:GFEb)/1.4rnd] - LI:GFEx where x is a and b for each respective GFE. In other words add both the limits together, divide by 1.4 and round up, then subtract the respective limit to get your value. The damage happens per tile, as in if a field has a radius of 3 and it will take you 3 squares to leave that field you're taking that damage 3 times.

Force is a simpler means of calculation and is just the difference in limits. The effect happens immediately so GFEs with small limits will simply be expelled almost instantly so no GFE rail guns.

To wrap everything up, due to semi-synchronous turns as long as you don't end your turn within a non-linked field you're fine. It's smart processed to assume you can navigate around them somehow. One other important note, the effect and damage output happens when the respective GFEs recharge. Keep this in mind. Due to enemy recharge timing, running into a pack of enemies won't mean you expel all of them off a cliff. They can simply attack you then run out of the field.

Now what happens if someone tries to grief with the Aegis? Well William has a kill switch for all of your GFEs just in case you were to try and go AWOL with the Gyre's technology :) and it's one of the few exponential functions this game has

"Progress has been steady with project "Triton". Piggybacking off the Gyre Field technology we were able to use its neural-sol link capabilities to power the units. Artificial stems were made from various wildlife with limited success. While able to power and maintain movement within the units the previous instincts and behaviors would show in some parts. Meratite Computers have been successful in stemming this issue but is not fool proof. In addition the stems do not have the cognitive processing power to draw energy from the environment like typical GFEs can. This is problematic as the possibility of the unit losing all power seems to prove fatal in all known cases to the stems. Thus a Unit using GFE-powered weapons would be short lived."
