The Bastion system was awash in tides of elemental energy, Necrotic and Arc forces struggling against each other in ethereal storms as the two factions battle fiercely against each other. Vibrant displays of burning force and impossible stormclouds mark the fiercest areas of conflict, obscuring the fields of debris and stranded ships within until they could be rescued or captured. A ribbon of these dueling energies mark the path of the dueling titans away from the vulnerable world of Rukor toward the outer edges of the system.

The Arc Surge rages like an impossible hurricane, the eye of the storm focused upon the living embodiment of its power as Quantac'Vrix struggled against the massive bioship the Fury of the Wormstar. Only it's own colossal Necrotic Reactors overcharged by the immense might of its commander the Lich Ruscuv and the natural ability for the Necrotic to feast upon the Arc allowed them to stand up against and defy the Matriarch an easy victory. Ruscuv poured her energy into the brain of the Fury, her rage and hunger fueling it as they continued to lead her toward the asteroid belt and the awaiting defenses.

Brilliant flashes of sickly green and blinding blue discharge from the clashing creatures as they lash out at each other with their own built-in weaponry, Necrotic flayers lancing across shielded and armored scales while sprays of leaping Arc bolts scorch and blister the segmented armor. Few entities have witnessed a duel such as this, two creatures too large for most worlds to survive who have risen up and enhanced, veritable founts of their respective elemental forces, clashing in a bloody conflict that spans a solar system.

This battle and all it's spectacular effects serves as a beacon, drawing your flagship toward the conflict and your destiny. Flanked by a large fleet the Charnel Vault lumbers toward the Matriarch, following the shimmering path they had left in their wake. You stood upon a platform at the prow, open the void of space with Necrotic energy crackling along your form and Kyn'tk shifting in your grasp.

Battle calls for you, the very Arc and Fate themselves seeming to guide you to this time and place where the futures of countless beings would be decided and influenced. Despite all the warnings from the Three and the machinations of the Masked, nor the attempts of the Wraiths to cripple your Legions leadership, you felt a swelling of excitement. A lust for war you had thought yourself rid of after your long imprisonment and revelations of the new Armada.

Yet, through this hunger and remembrance of the glories of war, you feel a fear that surprises you. The fear of defeat and the fear of what may become of your Armada without you.

With a shake of your head you steel your resolve, remembering your faith in the abilities of your followers such as Jor and Rethak to guide and lead the Armada should the worst happen.

No matter the outcome, you know the Armada will survive.

Currently the Fury of the Wormstar and Ruscuv have guided the Matriarch toward the inner limits of the asteroid belt. The Fury is suffering from some considerable wounds, several of its limbs having been left behind during the journey with most of its ammunition expended.

Quantac'Vrix, for the most part, appears to be in good health despite the wounds she has suffered. Ruscuv was able to observe in their fight that the Matriarchs wounds appear to be regenerating at a remarkable speed but the mechanical and armor additions are sustaining damage as normal. The Lich sends word through a brief communication to the Charnel Vault that she believes the Ahkam is using the Arc Surge to fuel her regeneration.

Your fleet racing toward them is joined by Predator Eiton and an Arc Disciple, their stealth craft flying at the head of the formations while waiting your orders and plans for attack.

From the other side of the asteroid belt you receive word from the fleets of Agona and Tlacex. Agona states that she is ready to depart from the battle of Bastions blockade at a moments notice by turning command over to Valresko or the Lavafather.

Tlacex did not wait, his vessel and several warships disengaging from the conflict at the first word of your arrival and racing into the asteroid belt intercept the dueling titans. He says and his juggernaut are quite eager to join you in battle, wishing to truly demonstrate his ability for you.

The forces of the Ahkam were not idle either. Forces from Rukor and the fleet that arrived with the Matriarch attempt to follow with a large number forced to stop and contend with the forces of Reconstructed and Obsidianborn ships left to delay them. A decent number to manage to break past, following your fleet and slowly gaining.

Throughout the system your forces make note of isolated Ahkam serpents, the children of the Matriarch scattered and trapped in their damaged and captured vessels. With so many present, particularly during the Arc Surge, the Deep Rot and Valresko agree with Eitons suggestion that keeping them trapped would be the best course of action until the Matriarch was dealt with. Multiple Ahkam attempt their escapes, slithering from their broken vessels like worms escaping a disturbed corpse. They were either intercepted, forced back to retreat into their ships, or they manage to flee to a friendly vessels still intact and working.

There was much to do and tend to in this battle. How shall you launch your assault upon the Matriarch?

Should we distract the matriarch by announcing our presence or should we do a short teleport to appear right in front on her before doing our reveal and "this is why you suck" speech as we open fire
>>
>>1853160
The whole reason we lured her to the asteroid field was due to all the crit crawls there iirc, how about Jadyk and Tlacex attack in sync with the crit crawls detonating on the Matriarch? Leaving Eiton in the wings for a good sneak attack opportunity

Agree mostly, let the crit crawls do their thing, then Fury grapples her and then we ram the Charnel Vault right into her heart.

One thing I should mention is that the Protoplanet that is within the asteroid belt contains the majority of your bioships since they are created in vast underground Cauldrons there.

Currently the protoplanet contains roughly 5,000 Kraken Bioships with another 3,000 spaced throughout the asteroid belt.

The protoplanet is a few lightminutes away from where Ruscuv and the Matriarch are currently and there are currently about 10 Ahkam warships containing Ahkam serpents being held captive there.

Plan seems to be
>Push into the asteroid belt proper
>Send Crit Crawls to damage her armor and augments
>Have the Fury grapple her and allow for swarms of Kraken to dismantle her augments

Do you wish to announce contact her to announce your presence in order to distract her?
>Y/N
>>
>>1853160
Announce our presence to get her attention. Have a portion of our forces join the attack, leaving just enough to defend our worlds from any sudden attacks. Try to get the Matriarch to flee toward the protoplanet or at least reposition herself there. Then when she is right by it,unleash the planets ships. The sudden onslaught should be enough to guarantee a victory with minimal loses. As soon as she is down, announce to the other Akham in the battle, stating that those who surrender will be spared, those who are not will suffer the succ.

Standing on the prow of your flagship with Kyn'tk in hand you watch through the eyes and sensors of you fleets, your mind reaching through your connection to every Reconstructed and even the Fury itself. This close to your children you had no need for a Harbinger or holographic substitute, your thoughts reaching them with ease as you share your plans.

The Matriarch had disentangled herself from the grasping coils of the Fury, putting some distance between them in an effort to catch a moments relief. From the distance the many eyes of the bioship could see her recent wounds sealing rapidly with her blood freezing in clouds of glittering ice as Arc light pulses across them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sltp-4WIbUE

Her head swings around suddenly, gazing toward where your fleet was racing toward her. Arc lightning crackles and dances along her form as she tenses while staring across the void in your direction. Your foremost ships detect a transmission, a communications hail cast in your general direction, yet your vessels never had a chance to answer the request.

Violently she was interrupted as a concentrated blast of the Fury's combined spinal flayers sears her side. The devastating beam of energy strikes and makes her shields glow bright in distress but somehow they still manage to hold, although a fraction of the corrosive energy does manage to seep through and damage her armor and wither the struck wing. Her psychic scream of pain rings out as she recoils to avoid the beam, her focus returning to the Fury too late.

Ruscuvs cackling rang out over the airwaves as she urged the bioship forward, its engines glowing bright to throw itself at the Matriarch. Limbs lash out and several claws pierce the shields to grip tail and wing, rapidly pulling her in close. Bladed tail and wings slash and strike at the bioship but goaded on by the Lich it ignores the new wounds to grapple the Matriarch anew.

Fangs sink into the side of the bioship where she had already torn away a section of armor plating, Arc energy pours from her like a venom. It's squeal of pain would've burst the eardrums of any living human had they been aboard the bioship, but once more it works through it.

The Fury of the Wormstar had been one of the first vessels in the Armada to utilize the powerful combi-drive, in fact using a prototype conjoined engine of a Skip and Void Drive. In it's time of repose during the weeks in Rukors oceans its engines had been further upgraded and now it spools the advanced Skip Drive portion of its systems. The Matriarch seemed to detect that it was charging its FTL engines and began to struggle with renewed vigor in her effort to escape.

Fang and blade tore into the Fury in her mounting desperation, not knowing if the Fury was attempting to jump them both into the heart of a star or the edge of a black hole. Yet still the Fury weathered the attacks and with a blinding flash of light and radiation both titans disappear from sight.

>cont
>>
>>1853529
Their trip was short-lived, even for a Skip Drive, as another brilliant discharge of light and energy appears lightseconds away in the midst of the asteroid belt. The Matriarch struggles and twists, likely confused by the short-ranged FTL jump, Arc energy pouring off her in waves that Ruscuv and the Fury struggle to consume and negate.

Finally Ruscuv gives a shout and the Fury uncoils itself from the Ahkam allowing her to slither from its grasp. While Ruscuv would never admit it herself, nor shame the Fury for it, she could feel its relief at releasing the desperate serpent for the moment. Drawing back in an effort to regroup themselves the Matriarch swirled in place to see where they had been taken while the Fury drew back toward a nearby asteroid.

Finding themselves within a densely packed section of the asteroid belt where the debris of broken and hollowed out asteroids had been deposited the area would have been treacherous for large warships to travel at excessive speeds. The protoplanet loomed nearby, the source of much of the debris as it's interior was hollowed out for mining and repurposed to fuel the Armada's fleets.

The Matriarch was much more agile than the typical capital ships though, the serpents darting away from the Fury and taking cover behind a large asteroid that had been hollowed out not long ago. Sensors aboard the Fury could detect her attempting to signal her forces, likely either calling for back-up or reaffirming her location.

She drifted near the surface of the asteroid as her wounds healed themselves with discharges of Arclight that illuminated more than just herself and the rocky surface. Debris filled the space around her, seeming to swirl like dust as she shifted and moved but realization appeared to come to her too late.

Hundreds of crit crawls that had infested the hollowed asteroid streamed from its interior like a mushroom releasing a cloud of spores across the form of the Matriarch. There was a moment of confusion as she was sprayed with the collective of bone, her body twisting in the moment before the crit crawls sink their claws into her scales and armor and detonate themselves with a mass shout of exultation. A wave of detonations wash over her form and she lets out another psychic scream of pain that rings out through the Arc itself.

More of the crit crawls swarmed toward it, propelled from their nest at high speeds but the Matriarch coiled herself into a tight sphere before erupting in a shockwave of Arc energy that vaporizes the remaining crit crawls. The nest and hundreds of crit crawls still inside catch the strike and detonate in turn, the asteroid shattering violently but the Ahkam was already darting away from the explosion. Portions of her armor were melted and heavily damaged along with many of the embedded weaponry although her shield emitters continue to function despite obvious damage from how often the bubble of refracted energy flickers.

>>1853532
She barely manages to avoid a beam of Necrotic energy as the Fury opens fire with its spinal flayers, the Matriarch shifting course toward the protoplanet and the signatures of her trapped children. The field of debris of was dense around the protoplanet, the serpent giving a wide berth to the largest asteroids while avoiding the attacks of the pursuing bioship.

Once more she falls victim to your traps as a web of green light seems to erupt in her path, the Necrotic flayers of dozens of Terrordromes and Shockdromes hidden among the debris opening fire upon her. Her rage washes out through the Arc as her progress toward the protoplanet was stalled, forced to dodge the onslaught and return her own barrage in retaliation.

A star of Arclight forms between her fangs as she yawns wide, her body jerking as multiple bolts of Arc lightning leap forth. Each bolt strikes a 'Drome before arcing to another in a violent chain that leaves a swath of burning and exploding Terrordromes. She twists around and unleashes another of the devastating chain attacks, clearing another section of the debris field of the harrying attackers but there were still more that unleash their arsenals upon her.

She was effectively stalled for the moment as she clears the area around her, allowing Tlacex and his forces to close in on her rapidly as your own fleet shifts course to approach the protoplanet.

What shall you say to the Matriarch as you approach?

"Long has it been since I have hungered so fiercely. Longer still has it been since i have eaten my fill of flesh and life. My new philosophy has robbed me of many creature comforts Quantac'Vrix. Demanded of me certain restraints. But today, here among your wide eyed children, your screaming faithful, and the eyes of the watching Dynasty, I will truly savor your torture. My warriors will shred your will to raw agony, my reconstructed will scald your flesh with fire and poison, and when you have been all but destroyed, only then will I obliterate you oh mighty God Queen.

I must thank you for a moment however, for offering yourself up to me so kindly. Falling again and again into my schemes as the poor idiot you truly are. For giving me my pound of flesh each and every time I came asking.

Know that when I have finished savoring you, your bones will be remembered, even if you will not. The effigies that I will erect to scatter your spawn will be profoundly beautiful, maybe even worthy of awe, but you yourself, your mind, your soul, you will be gone you must know.

You are unfit to be reborn, your sins are heavy indeed. Your soul will burn as I destroy it, and you will make me greater still.

But enough gloating, I hunger."

I hope this wasn't too cringe. It felt cringe to write, but we are a space bbeg skeletal so maybe its appropriate. I don't know.

As the Matriarch unleashes her assault against the surrounding Terrordromes their barrage suddenly ceases and her own attacks come to a stop in the stillness. She twists, her head swaying suspiciously as you detect her sensors sweeping the debris field. A message is beamed to her, a communications request that makes her twitch slightly and glance around her before she answers.

You were uncertain of what systems she had installed in her protective helm, knowing they at least could transmit and receive audio and likely visual as well. Your image speaks over the connection, calm and collected as the Charnel Vault rushes toward her while Tlacex spreads the forces he collected from throughout the asteroid belt to surround her.

"Matriarch Quantac'Vrix of the Ahkam, I am Lich-Lorc Jadyk of the Wormstar and the high authority of New Necrotic Armada. I have come for you, to make you pay for your sins and the horrors you and your Dynasty have inflicted upon the peoples of this sector."

Her response was swift, her voice distorted through the connection as her augments struggle to translate her psionic thoughts into speech, "Your hypocrisy is spectacular, Lich. I have learned the history of the Necrotic War, learned the accounts of the destruction and devastation that you yourself unleashed upon the galaxy. Horrors that exceed anything that I or any Ahkam have created. Whatever reasoning you have used to convince yourself of your righteousness, I have no interest in.

"I come for vengeance!" her voice drips with loathing and anger, "You have slaughtered many of my children, stolen this system from me, and made a mockery of the Ahkam as a whole! I have come to ensure that your stain upon the galaxy is erased and that we Ahkam can rise to the seat of glory we are destined!"

From a distance you can see as she flexes her wings, her head turning constantly as she scans her surroundings while still communicating with you.

The Charnel Vault draws closer, passing into the asteroid belt proper and forcing to slow as you speak, "I seek redemption, Quantac'Vrix. Redemption for my sins, vast as they are. My Armada is a tool for this, and has become a tool for others to seek their redemption. Many of my followers were once enslaved by your doctrines but now they seek to right their wrongs. They fight now to defend worlds they once helped subjugate under your orders. Even your children and favored uncle have come to accept my offer for salvation, pledging their loyalty to me," you say while trying to keep the gloating from your voice as you continue.

>cont

"I will give your children the opportunity to surrender. Perhaps in the future I will allow your sister Matriarchs to surrender to me," you can feel her rage bubbling up through the connection, "I will give you this one and only chance to submit, to surrender and depart free from further harm.

"If you do not, your children will live as my captives, but you will simply become my next meal. And believe me, Quantac'Vrix, my hunger is vast and all consuming. You will know why my name was feared throughout the galaxy."

The Matriarch was silent for only a moment before her laughter echoes through your mind by creating a psionic link with you and foregoing the electronic communication, "You are as much a fool as a hypocrite if you believe your words can ever make a Matriarch of the Ahkam submit to you! It is by divine right that we Ahkam rule! I will reclaim the worlds and peoples that you have stolen and brainwashed away from my worship and punish those that have betrayed me!

"Show yourself, Lich-Lord! Face me if your believe your strength is great enough, the Arc itself Surges in response to my fury!" Her wings and hood flare out wide, Arc lightning roiling off her in a violent display of aggression.

"Of all the emotions I feel toward you, Matriarch, anger for the way you treat your subjects, disgust at your preposterous deception of divinity.

"The strongest emotion I feel for you is pity. You have come so far and done so much only to die alone here, the Arc itself deceiving you. But fear not, I will not toy with you or prolong your suffering. Nor will your children be left to rot or your people linger in doubt.

"I shall take all that was yours and bring and end to this age of suffering. And it shall begin here with your Death and my apotheosis as the Arc forsakes you and embraces me in your place," your message reaches her, her anger apparent even without the purely psionic connection as she yawns wide and unleashes a sudden attack against the nearest grouping of Terrordrome still intact as the Arc lightning leaps from one to another in a destructive chain.

From the debris field her attack was answered by a torrent of Necrotic energy as the Fury opens fire once more with it's spinal flayers, Ruscuv throwing the bioship at her upon receiving your command to attack.

The Matriarch was ready for the Fury's attack, twisting to face the bioship as it races toward her with limbs stretching out with their vicious claws. Lips pull back from her fangs and she yawns wide and launches several of the same bolts that had devastated the surrounding Terrordromes. They strike arc away from her then converge on the bioship, the energy bolts striking its armor and making it roll slightly in its approach as its armor is seared from the attacks but does not slow its approach.

She retreats from the bioship, her attacks lancing out at it as it retaliates with its own Necrotic blasts. Moving toward the bioship you suspect she may be attempting to gather the isolated Ahkam serpents to her as reinforcements but they merely serve as bait to draw her closer.

The Matriarch manages to avoid the ensnaring grasp of the Fury as she rushes away from it toward her prize but her progress was impeded as she detects motion approaching her from the all sides. Her few remaining embedded turrets swivel and open fire with their rapid bursts of Arc energy as the debris field seems to come alive with new contacts. Only her quick reflexes prevented the sudden wave of Kraken bioships from washing over her as Arc lightning is unleashed to sear and scorch the swarms of swift craft racing toward her.

Drawn from the rest of the asteroid belt by Tlacex the Kraken race for their prey, their limbs grasping for the serpent while unleashing their own Necrotic flayers. The Kraken bioships were designed and created from the genetics of the Beast of Rukor, the nimble craft joining the Fury in becoming Rukors vengeance against the Ahkam.

The swarmed toward her, rushing in tides much like the vastly smaller swarmer drones, using those broken and slain by her defensive attacks in order to shrink the distance between them. The first of the Kraken to reach her as she enters a patch of dense debris lashes out with its tendril arms, claws glowing with Necrotic energy to sink into her armor and draw its gnashing beak in close to tear at the bulwark. It was quickly reduced to a smoking, charred wreck as the Ahkam surges with Arc energy and slays it in a moments passing but it was only the first of many.

They descend upon her like a swarm of locusts, their ripping claws and gnashing beaks reaching out to tear into her shields and armor. Dozens are slain by the moment as she surges with Arc energy and blasts them with concentrated bolts that leap from one to another. Clouds of the conflicting energies form around her as she carves a path through the hundreds of Kraken pressing down upon her.

>cont
>>
>>1854136
Finally she breaks through the debris field to the pocket of clear space surrounding the protoplanet where the Armada fleet stood guard over the captured Ahkam vessels. She beelines for the closest but found herself halted suddenly as the Furys claws grasp at her bladed tail and drag her back toward it once more.

Rage boils up within her as she was ensnared once more by Ruscuv and the stubborn bioship, their claws sinking into her flesh and armor in their effort to grapple her once more. Snarling she coils around and blasts the bioship point blank with a powerful torrent of Arc energy, the sustained blast eating through armor and flesh as it melts through metal and bone. The Fury screams in agony from the attack as the Matriarch channels the Arc Surge itself into the strike but it draws her into a tight grapple.

The attack may have been enough to slay the Fury if Quantac'Vrix had managed to hold her concentration, but as she sought to slay the bioship once and for all she is swarmed by the tides of Kraken leaping from the debris fields. They descend upon them both, the bioships crude minds feeling an immense hunger to rival their much larger kin, claws and Necrotic flayers ripping into the Matriarch. Her sustained attack falters, leaving a glowing wound in the side of the Fury that would take days to heal should it survive, and retaliates against the swarming attackers.

Arc energy rolls off her in waves, searing and damaging, if not outright slaying the swarming Kraken that focus on tearing apart her armor and embedded augments. Broken bioships and torn metal fill the void around her in clouds along with spilled necrotic biomass and Ahkam blood, bone and shattered chitin washing off them like snow in a storm. You feel the minds of hundreds of Kraken wiped out as your Charnel Vault closes the distance with your General pressing down on all sides.

You could tell the Ahkam trapped in their vessels were watching as their Matriarch was seemingly consumed under the tides of undead warships but the stray bolts and flashes of Arc energy showed she was not slain yet.

From within the tangle of struggling bioships Eiton could detect a sudden spike to the already immense signature of the Ahkam Matriarch. Much like the weaponized Arc missile the Ahkam had unleashed upon Legion's Home a detonation of massive Arc energy surges out, engulfing the swarm in a nova of cascading energy. Once more you feel swaths of their minds disappear as the Arc vaporizes and destroys them, your concern immediately going to Ruscuv and the Fury who's agony you can feel through the psionic network.

>cont
>>
>>1854141
As the Arc detonation fades you finally see the aftermath, Matriarch Quantac'Vrix writhing and twisting within the center of the devastation. Arc energy rolls off her in waves still, obscuring her form as the light twists and distorts violently around her. Surrounding her you see the debris of the slain Kraken, many reduced to skeletal remains if they weren't vaporized. Drifting close to the furious Ahkam was the still form of the Fury, the bioship drifting and missing more of its limbs as it's broken and cracked hull crackles with the lingering Arc energy.

You reach out your mind and relief reaches you as Ruscuvs furious reply answers you, reassuring you that the Fury yet survives if severely injured. She says it can no longer fight, its mind delirious with the pain and its body broken. She reassures you however, that her own injuries are non-existent and her anger rising. Even as she detaches herself from the Furys brain she says she is prepared to launch herself at the serpent if she need to.

Recovering from the swarming assault and the massive detonation of energy the Ahkam finally comes into clear enough view despite the distortion of light due to the immense Arc energies. The sacrifice of the Kraken had succeeded in their plan, their attack tearing much of her augments and armor from her. No longer surrounded by a halo of shielding and her armored shredded, her body nonetheless heals rapidly before you, great wounds that should have slain her seeming to heal as the Arc itself becomes her flesh and blood.

Her psionic rage echoes through the Arc as stormclouds billow around her, formed from the discharges of Arc energy as she turns her glare toward the protoplanet and her captive children.

>Quantac'Vrix has been weakened but she still battles on!
>The Fury of the Wormstar is heavily damaged and can no longer battle
>The Charnel Vault is now within range with Tlacex, Eiton, and Agona's forces managing to surround the serpent and protoplanet

How shall you lead the assault?

Quantac'Vrix shifts, turning her gaze upon the damaged form of the Fury. Her tongue flits out in a predatory motion despite the lack of air to taste, her wings flexing as she draws close to the bioship. Arclight pulses along her form and crackling between her fangs as she rears back for another strike, likely in an effort to slay it for good but she was interrupted as a wall of Necrotic energy rains down on her from all sides. The light distorts around her as she flickers, the barrage from the remaining Terrordromes and surrounding ships nearly all missing their target.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvPd7DjHb4E

Seemingly emboldened from her minor victory and unburdened by her armor she moves quickly, her form distorted by the Arc energy as she Blinks out of the crossfire and reappears near a cluster of Terrordromes. They swivel their turrets to track her but they were too slow as a spray of Arc lightning is unleashed from her yawning maw to leap from one to another in a destructive chain.

She does not wait for the rest of your forces to track her, her form disappearing from view to reappear alongside the hull of a battlecruiser from Tlacexs forces. Diving in close she flies alongside it, her Arc edged wings slicing through its hull like a thermal blade through cheap plasteel, her twisting movements forcing the blades to shred through its hull with an erratic pattern with detonation trailing her strike. Even as she coasts off the explosion of its engines detonating she unleashes a powerful concentrated beam of Arc energy that punches through the hull of a heavy cruiser barreling toward her.

Her assault was unpredictable, no longer focused on rescuing the other Ahkam but on wrecking as much damage as possible upon the gathering Armada forces. The Matriarch moved with devastating effect, her Arc blinks allowing her to disappear and reappear to unleash her attacks before fading from view to renew her attack kilometers away.

From the protoplanet itself new swarms of Kraken bioships are unleashed, seeming to bleed the undead starships from the sheer amount that fled from the hollowed out caverns. They lash out with their Necrotic flayers and flensers as they pursue, the swarms shifting as one each time the Ahkam disappears with another Arc blink. She carves out swathes of them with her attacks, Arc lightning leaping between them with each strike.

>cont
>>
>>1854453
She reappears then near the Fury, her eyes still protected by the large lenses scouring the areas around her only for her full attention to lock in on the massive ship looming closer and closer. Her eyes seem to meet your own empty sockets as the Charnel Vault approaches the wounded bioship in an effort to rescue and protect it.

Snarling she bristles with Arc energy as she charges another destructive beam but the attack was interrupted by a beam of crackling Necrotic energy leaping from the Fury to strike her in the side of the face. Recoiling from the deceptively damaging attack her blast becomes unfocused, unleashing as a cone of crackling Arc energy that could've vaporized sub-capitals.

Rounding upon the Fury with blood seeping and freezing from her jaws she spots the form of Ruscuv clinging to the side of the bioship ablaze in Necrotic energy as she charges another bolt of the corrosive energy between the claws of her pincers. She lashes out with the beam and slices into one of the Matriarchs wings and forcing her to recoil from the attack.

Twisting away the Ahkam prepares to retaliate with a blast of Arc energy crackling between her fangs but her eyes widen in surprise a split moment before she disappears and a thrumming wave of Necrotic force washes over where she had been moments prior. The Charnel Vault's hull crackles with the discharged energy from the massive Necrotic flayers that took up the vessels spinal mounts, easily the strongest weaponry within the New Necrotic Armada fleets.

Reappearing off the flank of the Charnel Vault the Matriarch unleashes the charged up attack, the beam roaring out to strike the dense shields of the flagship making them glow nearly opaque. Hardlight plating flickers into place over the hull as Arc lightning manages to leak through the barrier and dance across the armor. Necroflenser turrets rotate and take aim before opening fire with bolts of condensed Necrotic energy that could easily vaporize shuttles and strikecraft. She dodges most of them although a few do manage to strike and wither the scales and flesh surrounding the impact points.

From the hangars lining the sides of the flagship Swarmers, Nails, and Gunships race forth and open fire. Their weaponry meant little in the face of the Arc titan, mostly serving to harass and distract her as she spends the time to strike them down with sprays of Arc energy or her lashing tail.

>cont

>>1854455
On the hull of the Charnel Vault you stand with Kyn'tk in hand, the sentient weapon pulsing and writhing as the fractal blades of its every shifting form crackle with Necrotic energy. Lacking your typical robes you stood fully armored, clad in elegant chitin and bone armor as a helm snaps shut around your skull. Hefting your spear Necrotic energy is funneled from the massive reactors of the flagship along its hull and into the weapon. Bolts of sickly green lightning arc off of the weapon as you cock back your arm then fling it forward with all your might.

It cracks across the void of space, faster than Quantac'Vrix could sense as it strikes her in a wing with a detonation of crackling Necrotic energy. Her psionic scream echoes in your mind as she is thrown back from the blast and her head whips around to glare accusingly at you standing there wreathed in Necrotic force.

Lifting your hand there was a bend of spacetime and Kyn'tk reappears within your grasp, the black metal quickly erupting in the Necrotic energy as you charge it for another blow. Your psionic shout rings out, amplified by the thoughts of thousands of Reconstructed surrounding her in the warships that drew closer around her

<QUANTAC'VRIX! Face me and embrace your death! My children and I shall feast upon your corpse and fuel my ascension!>

You can feel the heat of her glare from across the void as she feels your challenge. There was a flash of Arc light as she disappears and you spin on your heel to thrust Kyn'tk forth as it twists its still glowing form from spear to shield before you as a surge of Arc energy washes over you. Protecting yourself with a telekinetic bubble and sphere of Necrotic force the auxiliary repeater cannons swivel and open fire with streams of near molten metal against the Ahkam coiled upon your hull.

Her attack against you ceases as she blinks once more, reappearing further along the hull of the Charnel Vault. Coiled she sways with hood and wings flared aggressively as the light shifts and warps around her from the Arc energy washing off her. From this close, even without a connection to the Arc just yet you could feel the Surge like an oppressive pressure surrounding you.

She glares down at you, her psionic voice echoing in your mind, <This conflict ends with one of us perishing on the blades of the other. I will relish scattering your bones to the far corners of the galaxy and breaking the souls of your beloved followers,> her message thick with unrepentant malice and hatred.

Shifting your stance you hold Kyn'tk at the ready, but both of you glance up as a sphere of burning Necrotic might rockets toward the Charnel Vault. It aims itself toward you and unfurls only moments before it seemed like it would collide with you.

>>1854457
Ruscuv uncurls and lands with a scraping of sparks as her claws and scythes dig into the hull to stop herself. Necrotic energy crackles off her heavily armored form as she stretches and shakes out her limbs while staring down the serpent. Her tendrils writhe with excitement as she glances toward you, her humanoid arms moving in a mockery of a bow as the claws of her pincer clatter, <Lord Jadyk, I hope I am not late for the feast!>

She turns back to the Matriarch that looms over you both, <I will make you suffer for hurting my pet so gravely and you will know why we were considered the greatest of the Wormstar's champions. Your death will not be an easy passing, this I promise>

As you and Ruscuv stare down the serpent perched upon the hull of your flagship you feel the Arc shift around you. You feel the scraping of blades upon the interior of your skull but the voices were nearly overwhelming this close to the Arc serpent

"NOW YOU MUST STRIKE! FEAST UPON THE ARC AND EMBODY IT! BECOME ABOMINATION AND RELEASE US FROM OUR PRISONS!"

Even from the stealthed craft drifting dangerously close you can feel the pain as Eiton recoils from the psionic shout.

Lightminutes away in the inner sanctum of the Arc Temple where the Arc Disciple bathes in the energies of the Condenser she lets out a pained gasp as realization washes through her, memories rushing into her mind that had once been thought lost with her Reconstruction. Even as her forgotten name returns to her along with the memories of her time serving the Empire and then her new life in the Legion and the friendships she forged, she remembers the sensation of the Arc as it was awoken in her soul by the first Predator, a name she breaths out through the agony of sudden memory

You monster!
>>
>>1854474
so I have a theory here. and a minor nit pick, but theory first.

that when the powerful elementals die they are imprisoned in the force, eg ghul is in the voids flames and that's why the void singers can hear his voice and echos. nekris is there imprisoned but because he may not have died and was imprisoned semi-alive he retains greater control of how he reacts. probably bullshit and needing polishing theres my theory. the application is if we are strong enough, this might be a good place to put certain prisoners. maybe even a matriarch?

and minor nit pick, the arc blink is an invention of nekris as said by the butcher who's name I cant spell. he could only do it [the butcher snake] under elitions tutelage. so how does this niece do it?
>>
>>1854712
The Ahkam discovered it first.

The Ahkam have had ages to experiment with the Arc and learn abilities. It's a credit to Nekris that he also discovered the capability.

It is not unknown for multiple cultures to make similar discoveries.
>>
>>1854725
the only reason it stands out to me was the butcher said that no ahkam he knew had been able to do it. and this is his favoured niece. just a bit of a big coincidence if your right. but I'm content to wait to see if grave will weigh in on the matter or leave it. lets just weight until tonight
>>
>>1854730

Quantac'Vrix doesn't seem to be a very trusting individual. I'll be surprised if this is the only technique she alone has mastered and not shared.
>>
>>1854712
Its kind of like an imprint, or cloned memory of who they were? Like, powerful enough individuals in the Arc, Solar, Void and Necrotic are 'reborn' in their particular element, but are limited in their interaction with the true physical universe because such overwhelming power is a very dire threat to the stability of the cosmos.

Personally, I think those former Necromancers-turned-Guardians of the Galaxy had good intentions but fucked it up. There ARE powers who should not have willy-nilly access to the mundane world because an accidental excess of energy or a bitter tantrum could result in destroyed worlds and mass extinctions.

There's a great many examples of mighty powers and god-like entities having no concept of how powerful they actually are because they have no experience with the fragility of life.

Jadyk is a good bridge between the divine and the mortal because he still has lingering memories from his time as a living, breathing creature and has been able to forge a lasting connection with the people of the New Armada. He has people like Jor, Rethak, ol' Uncle Snek and our friends/allies in the Armatocere and the Clans to remind him should he ever lose perspective.

>>1854730
>>1854725
It's also probable that after their battles with the Armada and the Predators, the Ahkam began to study us and how we fought. So they like learned the ability to Blink from observation and then following up with their own experimentation.

Likewise, it stands to reason that our Predators and their Arc Disciples could create smaller, less powerful versions of the chain-lightning and Arc bombs that Quantac'Vrix displayed earlier with time and study.

>>1854756
All of the Matriarchs are likely to have hoarded some powers and secrets to themselves in order to ensure their own positions. Obviously she's got plenty of sons and daughters who are vying for favor and may eventually seek to replace her as head of the family.

Also, its very possible that as the Ahkam females age and grow in size, their Arc power and sensitivity expands to match, and thus the Matriarch's would discover such powers and abilities before the rest of the species. So, barring a few prodigious students and offspring, the only one's who even know about the full capabilities of the Arc would be the Matriarch's who keep such knowledge within their very limited circle.
>>
>>1854462
Hmmmm. This worries me. B
Nekris was always a composed individual. Can you guys imagine him telling at us? I still want the Arc, but I now feel like getting it will make a problem that will require the full might of the energies to face. Either way, we need to tread carfully once we get the arc.
>>
>>1854789
It's to be expected. Possessing power invites challenge, no matter the form. We'll be rising up to heights unseen, which means that what comes next is a complete unknown. It means risk, reward, and responsibility.

As to Nekris, see above. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's somehow changed from the Predator we knew. The Disciple here >>1854462 seems to have recovered her memories from before being elevated to her current position and power; the same likely occurred with Nekris. However, he did not voluntary become the first Arc Predator of the Armada, so there might be some lost love between him and Jadyk.

Still, some meditation and communion with all of the elements together might answer a lot of our questions.
>>
>>1854789
Nekris was a composed individual. Being smashed and lost in the Arc, then trapped for months would strain anyone's composure. Especially if there are people like the fucking Masked or the three representative assholes messing with you.
>>
>>1854712
It's probably only hybrid elementals that are imprisoned. Ghul was void/necrotic, Nekris was arc/necrotic, ect.

I wonder if the Sunscales know about this prison and Three business? Maybe they do if one of them tried getting solar/void blessing, and then shit went down because it was an 'abomination' hybrid.

Hmmmm. After this battle, and while we finish conquering the remaining Osjic and Akham worlds in this sector,we MUST find out more. We are a rising star on the galactic stage, but we are just becoming aware of how big the other players can get. We cant let this ignorance be our downfall. I might want to work with the Necrotic Inquisition if we find out the imprisoned things are worse in the long term. So,we ask the voice what the hell it is and expect to be fed half truths and promises of power.

You almost wished you shared the ability of the Masked and the Three to freeze time as the Matriarch stared down upon Ruscuv and yourself. The very light itself fractures and warps around the serpent as the Arc Surge fuels her already immense powers, the wounds she had suffered from Ruscuv's strikes already sealing with a crackling of electricity. With fangs bared and illuminated with the power they held back she flexed her bladed wings as her hood flares, her brilliant red eyes shielded by the dense lenses of her armored helm moving between Ruscuv, yourself, and the unseen but felt presence.

She glares, searching for the source of the words she could feel shouted within her mind, <What trickery is this? Who dares interfere with my vengeance?!>

Her demands were met with silence but Eiton, floating close to the flagship in his stealth craft, could sense it as well as she. An unseen force lurking within the Arc but still blocked from reality. As he reached out into the Arc itself he could feel them, a presence he knew and thought never to feel again. The spark of Nekris, a flicker of his energy that had been used to ignite his own potential upon Reconstruction. He recognized the force but he could not pinpoint it, the turbulent shiftings of the Arc Surge and the Matriarchs presence making the Arc difficult to read.

As you stood upon the Charnel Vaults hull with Kyn'tk in hand alongside Ruscuv you hear the thoughts of Tlacex and Agona within their own command ships signaling their arrival and preparedness to join you both. You watch the Matriarch as her annoyance at the unseen presence increases, allowing you a brief moment to plan for this final conflict.

I say we have Agona take Eitons flight of stealth cruisers and whatever remains of the protoplanetary forces and begins a sortie, if we have her spread the forces out and constantly move in and out of cover in the asteroids she can provide covering fire and harassment while the cruisers dump whatevers left of their biomass as crit crawls for any Ahkam ships coming to help the matriarch. At the same time she can manage our static defences and see if she cant squeeze some efficacy out of whats left of them.

Meanwhile Tlacex, Ruscov and ourselves will try to keep her attention and duel her three ways in the clear zone between the protoplanet and the rest of the asteroid field.

Meanwhile Eiton should be harrasing her however he can at his own discretion, be that trying to strike her with his own flagships weapons or trying to fight her physically.

The three of us necrotically charged are going to be doing the heavy hitting as is, but Im confident that with arc jumping and his own instincts we can trust Eiton to hunt on his own.

That said we should be blasting Quantac'Vrix with bolts from Kyn'tk non-stop and having Ruscov aiding us either with energy or directing the Charnal Vault when evading. Tlacex should at the same time be strafing her as he can with his broadsides but otherwise trying to avoid being killed. Hes fresh meat and even with a elemental bonus on his side I dont want him to get himself killed.

Your commands fly out in a few moments of silent communication during Quantac'Vrixs distraction by the unseen Arc presence. Her eyes focus upon you as you step forward, Necrotic energy crackling off your form to burn in the airless void. Kyn'tk kept it's shape in your hand but the fractal blades melt and fold in on each other in impossible angles as the same sickly green light shimmers from it.

The ever-shifting blades of your soulbound weapon are leveled at the vastly larger serpent coiled upon your flagship, your thoughts projected to her, <What you sense is the very Arc itself calling for my aid, to dethrone you and take my place as the center of this galaxy. Feel honored, Matriarch Quantac'Vrix. For once your life will have true meaning!>

The speed at which she struck was near impossible to follow as her body seems to melt into the Arc itself as she throws herself at you with fangs extended. Lashing out with Kyn'tk the blades send a slice of Necrotic force in retaliation but the serpent merely twists around it in that brief fraction of a second as the Arc allows her to move at impossible speeds.

Her fangs crackling with the Arc close around you but are caught by a sphere of telekinetic force you throw up around yourself. Blinding light shines from her near translucent fangs as she channels the Arc in her attempt to incinerate you with the building energy.

The Arc flows into you as you feast on the energy to lessen the damage as it presses down upon you. The Ahkam Matriarch was a veritable fount of the energy and you feel your defenses weakening even as you ravenously consume the damaging force. Doubt began to creep into you as the sphere of telekinetic force shrinks under her tightening jaws.

You were cast away suddenly when the Matriarch recoils violently with a psionic shout of surprise and pain. Halting your chaotic tumble you turn to see Quantac'Vrix shaking her head wildly in an attempt to dislodge Ruscuv as she clings to the armored plating just above her eye. The Lich was ablaze in Necrotic flames as her scythes carved and sliced through the dense metals with ease, pausing only long enough to fling her heavy tail forward and channel a devastating attack from the trio of pincers at the end.

She attacked in a frenzy of movement you yourself had experienced not long ago upon your eventful reunion. Ruscuv detaches before the Matriarch could slam her head into a nearby turret, the weapon crumpling with a detonation of Necrotic energy as the powerful crystalline arrays within the destroyed Necroflenser are ruptured. The Lich lands upon the hull of the Charnel Vault and sets into a gallop as the serpent lashes out with her bladed tail crackling with energy, each strike leaving large craters in the armored hull.

Drifting near the battle you aim your offhand fist toward the Matriarch and the recently crafted weapon set into your armors forearm spins to light with a sparking of Necrotic motes. There was a moments delay before the weapon erupts with a barrage of condensed Necrotic energy but this hybrid weapon strikes the Matriarch with a force rivaling a sub-capitals turrets. The blasts burst rapid-fire across the Matriarchs armored skull and hood, which while not strong enough to damage her, was enough to draw her attention as she glares at you.

The distraction seemed to be enough as a sphere of hardlight wreathed in Necrotic flames rockets from the debris field toward the battle. You could feel the excitement of Tlacex and his Juggernaut as they neared the battle, aiming themselves for the Matriarch herself. There was a flash of Arclight and a blur of movement then as Quantac'Vrix spins and lashes out with her tail, the cluster of blades leaving afterimages when it swung and struck the sphere containing the Illuminator.

With an indignant psionic shout Tlacex was sent ricocheting away from the flagship as the Matriarchs cackling rings out in your minds and the Arc itself.

The sphere of hardlight bursts as the Illuminator and his conjoined mount halt their flight and right themselves. The large Juggernaut, it's armor bursting forth in jagged crystalline growths and wreathed in a secondary armor of complex hardlight lets out a soundless bellow as Necrotic flames issue from its maw in a fury, claws clenched into heavy fists. A powerful Necrotic core churns in its armored chest, fueling itself with the ambient Arc energy surrounding it.

Tlacex rides the juggernaut, not as he had in life, but rather conjoined as his upper half rose from the armor and crystal outcropping between the Juggernauts shoulders. His staff uncoils itself from around his waist and snaps into shape as a large hardlight scythe forms on the end, the Juggernauts own hardlight armor shifting to create a pair of bladed wings much like the Ahkams that stretch out behind it as Tlacex levels the weapon toward the serpent, <By the light of the Wormstar I have seen your sins laid out before me! I am the Illuminator of this Armada and I shall eradicate the shadows that guard your false godhood! I shall shine the light of our truth upon all the peoples you have enslaved and bring them freedom!>

With a blaze of Necrotic flame the conjoined General launches himself toward the serpent as swinging his scythe sends slices of condensed hardlight wreathed in Necrotic energy carving toward her. With a snarl she twists through the Arc, blinking out of the path of the strikes but as she reappeared floating along the path of the Illuminator with Arc energy crackling between her fangs she is struck by a concentrated beam of Necrotic energy.

Ruscuvs own cackling rings out as she throws herself toward the serpents, catapulting with telekinetic force. Quantac'Vrix twists, lashing out with her tail at the Lich but she is thrown back as an eruption of Necrotic energy detonates against her hood. The black blades of Kyn'tk expel the corrosive energy in a powerful strike before returning to your hand, the Matriarch snarling as she realizes she is surrounded.

With your own psionic shout you cock back your arm and let Kyn'tk fly with another strike as you stand upon the Charnel Vault that fires it's remaining Necroflenser turrets at the same time. The Necrotic wreathed weapon streaks for her trailing the collection of condensed destructive force, pulled along as the spear strikes the Matriarch once more and serves as a beacon for the other blasts to riddle her form with explosions of Necrotic force.

A spray of Arc lightning answers the attack, bolts of the destructive energy leaping out to strike both Ruscuv and the Charnel Vault as Tlacex manages to redirect the blast with a swing of his weapon. Her body crackling with Arclight the Matriarch blinks out of sight to reappear dangerously close to you.

Coiled to strike she lashes out at you once more with fanged maw yawning wide but your thrust your fist forward once more and the weapon mounted to your forearm unleashes not a barrage of Necrotic energy but a vast flare of Solar flame. The weapon allowed you to switch between and weaponize your elemental energies with ease and the Solar attack seems to surprise the Matriarch as the flames scorching her mouth make her recoil and divert her attack.

A cackling fills the minds of those around you and it takes a moment to realize it is your own as you throw yourself toward the serpent. Kyn'tk lashes out in your grasp, reaching across to carve through armor and scale with discharges of corruptive energy. As you struck, the blade drinks deep of the Arc with each attack to fuel your Necrotic core. Feeding upon the Arc Surge itself in your battle.

Joined by your sister and son in undeath you throw yourself fully into this duel with this self-imposed god. The fear of defeat was there but in the moment you can nearly forget it as you drink deep and slake your hunger for war with the blood of the Matriarch.

>>1859268
As your duel with the Matriarch progresses Agona's forces were not idle. While she had desired to personally face the Ahkam as well she knew there was no better force in the Armada to keep the battle private. Under her commands she sends forces of Reconstructed and Obsidianborn ships with the masses of Kraken bioships remaining out into the asteroid fields to intercept the Ahkam forces.

They raced toward the asteroid belt, fleets from both sides of the dividing belt moving to assist their god in her battle. The Punisher feels Valresko looking to her for guidance, the Dominator deferring to her in this moment.

Drawn by the Matriarch the fleets approached with the intent to assist their living god, their zealotry carrying their forth as the first of their ships plunge into the asteroid belt. Guided by the children of Quantac'Vrix the fleets moved around the asteroids, their sensors scanning for defenses. Upon detecting hidden Shockdromes or weapons they opened fire with missile and kinetic round. Hidden hangars unleash their strikecraft and missiles, the fierce but outnumbered Nails and Gunships falling victim to the Ahkam forces.

Smoldering ruins of destroyed defenses and the debris of strikecraft marked the fleets path as they race to join their wayward Matriarch. The Armadas forces follow as well, guided by Valresko in order to harry the foes that they had been entangled with not long before. The vast Armatocere treeships remain behind with the blockades protecting the worlds in the event of a surprise attack.

As the Ahkam fleets completely submerged into the asteroid belt in their haste to near the protoplanet and the Matriarchs battle they came under the true assault of Agona's defenses. In the denser sections of the asteroid fields the hidden Obsidianborn and Reconstructed ships leap into battle, attacking from range while using the asteroids as cover. Caught in the crossfire the Ahkam ships open fire in retaliation with most ships passing by and weathering the attacks in their single-minded goal of joining the Matriarch.

The Ahkam forces pass through into a patch of calm but it was short lived as the networks of hidden Terrordromes drop their stealth fields. Replacing their cloaks for hardlight plating they open fire with their Necrotic weaponry much closer than their targets had expected an attack to come. Their flayers slice into the passing ships and unload their missile payloads in the time before the Ahkam begin to cut them down faster than the typical shielded versions. The damage they caused was significant though, the surprise attacks leaving many ships heavily injured or drifting with savaged engines.

In the chaos flights of strikecraft descend upon them flying from their hidden hangars and carrier ships. Nails and Dervishes dismantle the weapons and defenses of stranded ships or join gunships in clashing with the swarms of fighters the damaged ships discharged.

Kraken bioships rushed into the battlefields, their unpredictable attacks driving the Ahkam forces further into disarray. While not as heavily armored as the sub-capitals they attacked their mobility was nearly unparalleled as well as their capability of literally crawling across the hulls of their targets in their efforts to tear apart shield emitters and turrets. Their claws emitted Necrotic energy to counteract the Arc pulsing through the hulls yet many fall away charred as they pried open the hulls of the capitals carrying the Ahkam themselves. But for every Kraken that fell it seemed that two more would take its place in ravaging the invaders.

Obsidianborn ships fire their tethers, harpoons of quasiphasic barbs latching on their targets and rapidly reel their catches in. An ensnared battleship finds itself the target of a pair of heavy cruisers, its significant weaponry opening fire upon the stone ships but unlike the bone and metal hulls of the Reconstructed ships they weathered the blows without slowing. The great spires of super-condensed stone at both ships prows strike true, spearing through shield and hull with shocking ease as they impale their prize. Vents within the spires part and begin expelling the quantities of stored molten metal that fueled much of the Obsidianborn weaponry, flooding the halls and sweeping over the unfortunate crews with the searing, all-consuming tide of metal.

Agona watches from her Pyroclastic Destroyer as its massive cannons rain down a barrage upon a cluster of capital ships attempting to break free of the killzone she had ambushed them in. The kinetic rounds of explosive molten metal carried an additional charge of Necrotic energy, the Punishers the only members of the Armada capable of the feat but funneling their own Necrotic strength into their half-living flagships. Nodding in satisfaction as a battlecruiser is practically snapped in half by a series of detonating sprays of melted stone and metal she turns her gaze to the reports of your battle with the Matriarch.

Her fingers dug into the armrests of the chair she sat in, cracking the stone as she watches. Her annoyance at being denied the chance to avenge her sisters injuries upon the Matriarch bubbles up like the magma that reforged her. With a growl she slams her fist upon the armrest in frustration and turns her mind back to the battle at hand. Minutes later the shattering of a heavy cruiser under her next barrage helps to sooth her anger.

She was Punisher Agona, one of the first and greatest of Jadyk's children and she would heed her orders. At her commands the forces of the asteroid belt stall and prevent the children of the Matriarch from joining her in her desperate conflict.

>>1859577
The Charnel Vault opens fire with it's array of Necroflensers, the barrage of corrosive force chasing the twisting form of the Matriarch as you mentally guide their paths in pursuit. Kyn'tk floated before you in an ever-shifting circle, the light within distorted and magnifying the image of the serpent as you track her, your outstretched hand guiding the strikes telekinetically as you flew after her.

Ruscuv and Tlacex pursue, their own Necrotic attacks racing out to slice and blast her. Flying with her telekinetic gifts to propel her Ruscuv was much slower than Quantac'Vrix but her attacks carried a weight that made Ahkam recoil, the wounds inflicted by the Lich taking longer to heal with each blow.

Tlacex flies swiftly after her, propelling himself eruptions of decaying hardlight as he swings his scythe. Having drawn dangerously close the Matriarch twists out of his weapons path but the Juggernauts claw lashes out, catching the blade of a wing. Jerking in surprise at the sudden weight she whips around to glare but the conjoined warriors leap for her face, the Juggernaut's fist pulling back into as a much larger hardlight recreations forms around it before striking one of her lenses with a punch that sends a webbing of fractures through it and making her recoil.

His jubilation was short-lived as one of her largest wings swipes at him, an Arc edged blade slicing one of its legs off just below the knee. The Juggernaut bellows out to the silent void, Necrotic flames spewing from it's open maw in anger. The limb goes sailing off as Tlacex and his mount throw themselves mightly at the serpent, hardlight blades and blasts unleashed in a furious barrage that drives the serpent back in surprise at his ferocity.

The battle continues.

Retaliating against Tlacexs assault the Matriarch unleashes a spray of Arc bolts as he and his mount dodge the majority. Two manage to strike the hardlight shield they threw up but the energy courses through them, darkening their armor in patches as it chars. Momentarily stunned by the strike they nearly fall victim to the next attack as Quantac'Vrix strikes with mouth open wide.

Grasping a fangs point in all four hands the Illuminator and his Juggernaut manage to hold the mouth of the Matriarch open, their feet (one formed of hardlight) pressed into the lower jaw as she tries to snap her jaws shut. Arc lightning crackles off her fangs and into the Illuminator who lets out a psionic scream as Necrotic flames wash over them in their efforts to counteract the energies she was trying to slay him with in much the same way she had attempted with you.

As with you she was forced to release her prize as Kyn'tk erupts against the wing she swings up to block the blow, Necrotic energy washing over her before the blade is recalled to your gasp. In the wake of your strike Ruscuv threw herself once more but the serpent was prepared for the attack. The wing swings out, blades strikes against Ruscuvs scythes she threw up and send the Lich tumbling then following up with a powerful bolt of Arc lightning that strikes her and propels her a blistering speed away toward the surrounding debris field.

She turns her head to glare at you as you prepare for another throw with Kyn'tk and when you let the weapon fly she disappears with a flash of light. There was another flash below your feet as she reappears practically on top of you wreathed in Arc energy. Unlike before where you expected her to try snatching at you with her fangs once more shed throws her head toward you but stops suddenly in her motion.

Her movements may have stopped but the build-up of Arc energy wreathing her continues to accelerate and burst outwards in a wave of Arc lightning. The telekinetic bubble you throw up does little to mitigate the damage as you feel the torrent wash over and through you. At your core you can feel the Arc gnawing and tearing at the wellspring of Void might even as the Necrotic that formed the core of your being consumes it. In turn you fuel and protect the Void within you by allowing it consume the Solar flames that were fueled by the very same Necrotic.

That sensation, of feeding and being fed upon in the same moment in an act of near cannibalization, was a familiar one during your time struggling to prevent the Solar from reducing you to ash. It was over in a moment, your attention drawn toward the serpent once more.

>cont
>>
>>1859672
Her massive form twists with its impossible speed as she swipes at you with the cluster of thagomizers that form the end of her tail. Kyn'tk returning to your hand with a bending of spacetime you throw it up to intercept the strike, fractal blades clashing with the Arc-edged in showers of sparks. While you were capable of deflecting the damage the force of the blow was immense, sending your frail by comparison form flying backwards.

As the serpent rears back to strike at you once more, time seems to slow as many things happen at once. With fangs bared she lunges for you, the light around her distorting as she makes to blink to the Arc once more. Yet as she was drawn forward into the shimmering passage to the Arc a singular blade wreathed in the same image slashes out of seemingly nothingness to slice at the lens already fractured by Tlacex. The curved blade formed from the bone of a young Ahkams blade carves through the lens as they disappear into the Arc, only to reappear tumbling chaotically with blood from the wounded eye trailing after her.

Momentum carries her barreling toward you while wreathed in Arc energy still but uncontrolled in her actions. There was another flash of the Arclight and you feel yourself drawn into the Arc in a brief, yet painful, moment. The disorientation fades as you find yourself kilometers away from the writhing serpent standing on a drifting asteroid chunk and look to who was clutching your shoulder.

Predator Eiton, uncloaked and holding his Arc sword forged from one of the Matriarchs children, gives a rictus grin and nod of his head, <Lord Jadyk> he says into your mind before disappearing into the Arc with another blink leaving you behind. Emerging from the Arc once more he leaps into battle, his clawed feet gripping at her scales as he runs along her serpentine form, his blades a blur of afterimages and spilled Ahkam blood.

The Matriarch screams in pain and indignation as she bucks and twists at the new attack, her psionic shout vibrating the bones of your skull, <Parasite! Aberration! You've slain my children and turn them into mockeries!>

Her rage washes through the Arc in waves along with the vast amounts of energy she expels from her form. The Arc Predator was able to ignore much of the damage that would make even you suffer but the vast amounts still manage to hurt the Reconstructed General but Eiton ignores the pain. Much like the parasite she accused him of being he darts about, avoiding her slashing claws and gnashing fangs with erratic blinks while slashing out with his blades.

His distraction allows both Ruscuv and Tlacex to regroup, the Illuminator throwing himself toward the pair in an effort to assist his older sibling. The Juggernaut unleashing vast gouts of Necrotic flames to distract the serpent as Eiton focuses on slicing at the joints of her wings.

>cont
>>
>>1859674
Ruscuv lands on the asteroid debris alongside you, the rubble nearly spinning wildly with her landing until you both mentally stabilize it. Your sister Lich watches in silence before chuckling, <You promised me glory battles and you have delivered, dear brother.> With a cackling laugh in your mind she telekinetically throws herself toward the battle at hand.

As you made to join them you stop though, a telepathic message funneled to you through the Deep Rot making you pause.

From the Arc Temple upon Rukors moon the Disciple once called Orvca frantically tries to deliver her message, "The barriers weaken! Nekris struggles to free himself! Only by forming a bridge between reality and the Arc can we free him. I can hear him calling, Lord Jadyk, his voice grows in strength but even the Surge will not be enough, he says the Necrotic must become the bridge!"

Her desperate message received you grip Kyn'tk in your hand and erupt once more in Necrotic energy. With a burst of energy you throw yourself toward the serpent and your family she fought. With her death lay the chance for your family to be reunited once more and the thought fills you with a sensation that had come to fuel the spirit of the New Necrotic Armada.

The sensation of Hope.

From what you've gathered in your conversations with the Three and taking from what both Vle'Karak and 13 Ascendant Blade have said into account, there do appear to be entities either trapped or dwelling in the Elemental "planes"

Using them as prisons is pretty far beyond your capability though.

As for the Arc Blink question, it's a combination of factors. She learned how to do it by observing records of Nekris and Eiton using the Arc Blink and had in fact been trying to duplicate the process before the Arc Surge even began. With the Surge though she was able to perfect it much faster and use it much more frequently than she would be capable of.

Also, Vle'Karaks knowledge isn't all encompassing. There were Matriarchs who had unlocked its secrets before but like another anon said, they kept the technique close to them and did not share it out of fear of upstart daughters attempting mutinies
>>
>>1859697
thank you very much. other than that I think I only have two suggestions from a character perspective. rather than using tests on prisoners like the imortals were, can I suggest we use clones of the races we would want to test? that cluster fuck could have been avoided if the subjects were not sentient with lives pior. not saying that it was a bad move but looking back could have been fixed.

and I reassert that as soon as this shitflinging competition is over we have a few genrals take the day off and get their minds copied. we cant let nekris come back but I don't see why we shouldn't have some contingency incase someone DOES meet the true death.

maybe in time we can test ways to open a bridge with only nekris allowed through. currently its too dangerous

Even if it's not even if it's some kind of ark entity, we still stand to gain by letting it out. Because it will have a larger net damage to the akham due to there mass use and reliance on ark power, it will give a 3rd ark faction/threat for us to use to get some akham to join us in an enemy of my enemy situation, and last it would cause chaos, and chaos is a ladder to power for those that can adapt quickly

I've seen enough extra-dimensional shenanigans to know that the things(since it's not just Nekris there, but apparently multiple) in the "prison" will fuck everyone up. The horrors of Autocorrect afflict even myself especially when doing long "Rants" of which you only ever seem to notice After hitting post >.<

>you have been given the offer of immortality. TO DEATH AND THROUGH IT TO ETERNETY

I shall carry this burden with great pride and continue to serve at the Armada's pleasure.

Speaking of which iv been doing a quick...clean up of the image and i just noticed that Nekris always cleans up... nicely perhaps the easiest of the commanders for me to draw... just look at this magnificent bastard.

Look at all those big smiles.
>>
With how heavily destiny inspired this quest, I wonder if destiny 2 will have any effect on it
>>
>>1867824
Mr.Smiles, could you draw a bunch of Masked sitting in Lazy Boys watching The Necrotic Bunch(just the nine boxes in the opening with Prominent Armada members) The fatter and more slovenly the Masked look the better.
>>
>>1867907
if I ever get Destiny 2 we may just see
>>
>>1868161
Don't do it Graves. Spare yourself the heartache.
>>
>>1868161
What do you plan on playing it on? I could get it for you as a thank you for all the time you put into running the great quest, and for putting up with my constant comedic attempts at sexualizing our fire fueled female generals
>>
>>1868786
While I appreciate the sentiment I wouldn't feel right accepting it.

Thanks though. I've got Yakuza 0 to keep me occupied until I can get it.
>>
>>1869641
Well I need fucking someone to play with, just accepted the gift faggot

Also a character of the race ojice are modeled after is named Ghoul just like the old void General of the old armada. Was that name in the first game and I missed it?
>>
>>1869641
I once got my friend an Xbox for no other reason than it was a Tuesday, a simple game is no skin off my bones
>>
>>1869641
But if you don't want the gift that's fine
>>
Been seriously looking at getting it on pc recently

We make a clan named after the legionaires

>For you, it was the day a new world of entertainment opened up for you, the most important day of your year.

>For me, it was Tuesday.

Well, at least you've mellowed out a bit Bison.
