I'm Wong, of course, your host and narrator, and this time around you will once again be Pirate King Roarke Susan Starwind, the undefeated terror of the Solar System, pilot of the peerless Knuckle Kaiser, husband to six wives, and one of (if not THE) foremost aces in the Solar System. It's been a long and storied journey since you were just an officer, left for dead, floating through the void in a broken Harpy. Your surviving enemies have learned to fear you, and every day brings more and more followers into your fold.

To begin with, why am I posting this a day (or at least several hours) early? Because I miscalculated and didn't realize the day I planned to run was Halloween. I plan on spending it with friends and family, and so should you, if you can! Consequently, the game itself will run on Wednesday...but this gives you a whole day to look over what I'm doing.

First, as you may notice, there's a new pastebin. Putting your whole fleet in the Master Pastebin made sense when you only had a Pirate Fleet, but now that you have a Pirate Kingdom, I need a whole new system for that. It's simple, but with some help from Thunder I worked it out. If you look too early, the Master Pastebin might not be done, but by Wednesday everything will be ready. Starships will now have their own gallery, the same as mecha, so that for most ships you can simply look them up there and apply the crew stats and mecha complement from the Master Pastebin. For the moment I'm emptying out all your ships of mecha so you can reassign them as you like, or maybe I'll change my mind and do that myself.

Second, as I said, colonies are now a thing you have, and as such, they have stats too...

My plan is this. I'm taking all the mecha out of your ships. I'm giving you a bunch more, mostly tourney mecha. Then I'm going to probably put them back in, maybe with some player input. Among other things, you're also getting a ton of Rocs.

I call this sort of bullshit "Miles doing procurement and financial management behind the scenes." I justify it because you just made a ton of money from ridding the system of Pale Slayer Meridian and because you have a steady stream of recruitment.

As you'll notice, Colonies have four basic stats, plus additional things like Mecha Production Lines and eventually shipyards.

Food Requirement is how many units of Food (this encompasses everything needed to live, "Food" is just how I'm simplifying it) the colony needs per month. The larger the colony, the more Food Requirement it has.

Food Production is how many units of Food the colony produces in a month. If it's equal to Food Requirement, it's self-sufficient (or in the case of Auditorium, brings in enough money to easily afford supplies from elsewhere). If it's less, the colony has to get food from your other colonies (hopefully you have a surplus). If it's greater, it gives you a surplus, which can make up the gaps elsewhere.

Materials work the same way as Food, with slightly different calculations. It's tied to how many Mecha Production Lines (and Shipyards) you have. You can shut down Mecha Production Lines (we'll worry about Shipyards once you have some) to reduce the Materials Requirement of a colony by one per line. So Auditorium is normally self-sufficient when it's not actively building mecha (or virtually all industry shutting down with Red Siren spending her loot surplus to upgrade the Rhinehawk via plot).

They'll also have starship-scale weapons and a ton of starship-scale armor (SP 400+) that can be used in your defense if you fight a battle at one of your colonies, but I haven't added those in yet.

Don't have enough food? You'll have problems. Don't have enough materials? Mecha Production Lines will shut down and if you still don't have enough you'll have problems. Fortunately, you have a surplus of both for now, in part due to the Suleiman colonies which, while small, have large farms and asteroid mining. Suleiman 2 also had a facility to serve as a backup to Suleiman 1. No secret technology there, sadly, but it does have a Production Line.

You also have your military base colonies. These aren't even listed until you activate them, sending people there and jumpstarting their industry. They WILL have substantial anti-ship and anti-mecha defenses for their size, and also Mecha Production Lines...but each and every one is deficient in Food and Materials Production, because they're supposed to be supplied by Mars and Jupiter (and now by you). The SSL planets will maintain them until you take possession of them.

Offhand, I'd say their stats are as follows.

Very simply, these bases are a way to turn your surplus into more Mecha Production Lines, and if attacked the garrison can at least hold out long enough to call for help, usually.

Why not just assign them as "unit blocks".

Like each squad of different mecha types give a unit a number of die to roll for offense/defense. Like Harpies give 1 attack die and zero defense.

Special squads have modifier abilities.

A stealth squad of Shinobi gives 1 reroll, 1 attack and 1 defense (I have no actual idea of power levels but you get the idea) representing it's ability to strike from cloak. If the reroll is (x) or (x and higher) they get to re-cloak and reroll again.

That way you're treating battle groups as sort of individual encounters so that you aren't micromanaging the battles. They're more like PCs with special abilities.

Except main character fights. Micromanage those.

Used a whole bunch of ideas to make this baby. It's incredibly fast, highly customizable, and 100% Phaeton. Figured rather than Bass Frames and Mustangs, we could produce these if need to.

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE 100TH THREAD MARK, WONG!!!!!!!

And it should be us thanking yoy for allowing us to experience this awesome life experience that is being here and making part of this unmatched group narrative that is MSPQ, which unites people from all over the world into this ragtag band of pirates, mecha designers and friends that we call the kestrels (even if we kind of want to kill one another sometimes).

You know, I think we should celebrate this somehow.... But it won't be the same without you here, so I'll wait before anything.

Now about the micromanaging shenanigans.

Firstly, I want to throw a unorthodox idea, but its just a idea, not my main suggestion... So, if the qst already work like some sort of democracy, we could just name a some sort of "Micromanaging Ministry" and have the people in charge of it to deal with the micromanaging shenanigans of troops and inform the decisions... I mean... Me, Thunder and Ducth are crazy enough to keep track of thousand of statistics, shady rules, and killcounts... Keep tracking of mecha numbers isn't far of our usual shenanigans.

This is reasonable idea, to have the mecha split into pirate squads of 5 members and turned into unit statistics.

A good way to deal with them is to use them in battle like ships, fuse their kills into single stat and turn thei armor into ship scale with weapon damage being multiplied x10... Then apply the rules of each shoot reducing the armor by 1d10 and you have Unit Stats.
(In case of amor varing from limb just divide the total SP by the number of limbs)
For example, a Pumpkinseed squad would have:

170 Kills
50 SP
Weapons:
WA+1, 60K Sword
WA+1, 30K Beam gun....Etc..

The only thing we would need to rework is the crits, though.

Having crrtain players work with Wong outside of threads to come up with different options go present the players is not a bad idea, but also debatable if it's even necessary.

Also for simplicity sake, most units would have to have standardized equipment and at most a single unique weapon.

Micromanaging is toxic on this site. Either only some players get to do it, or you have people fighting over the minutae of literally a hundred different things.

Okay, I'm sorry if I said something stupid, I don't go outside of this thread much anymore, so whats is the problem with micromanaging and why people have problems with it? I assumed that it was because of people just not wanting to be bothered to do it, and thats why I suggested the "micromaning board of directors".

If the problem is having people fight of minutae, does it even applies here? We would be just mostly moving troops around ONCE, and maybe some other times when the Raiding crews manage to go back after planets shenanigans.... And we just have a bunch of mecha to split, we aren't upgrading individuals mechs one by one or something like this.

Even if we got choices like "Spend X CP on mechs" I doubt that we would go too nuts with it, probably 4 or 5 anons would throw up some different options on how to spend it, and the rest would choose and correct course from that...

There is also the fact that the tourney showed that having something to occupy us with outside of the playtime helps to focus disscussion and avoid the worse of shitposting.... And since that some anons are just throwing more and more ships and mecha ideas with no focus because we don't have somewhere to vent them anymore.

Not by simply assign 'this number here', 'this number there'.

The best way would be to create ORBAT Templates.

At the very least, we need 2 differing types. Fleet Air Wing and Garrison Duties.

Say a Garrison Duties Orbat is 3-4 Squadrons of Rocs. We can then easily specify Divisions to garrison specific colonies. Units can then also be easily transferred between operational areas in strength and not piecemeal.

Both go hand in hand. With both, either is useless.

Right now definitely, crews will likely stay together under their own captains, just that reorganisation will help to form them up and incorporate them into an armed forces structure while keeping them intact.

Say for example the Stone Soldiers pilots:
Likely formed into an over-strength division of 5 squadrons that will still be attached to their ship.

Also, based off our old pastebin, our fleet itself has somewhere in the region of 400 or so mechs. Rocs alone outnumber that since we'll likely be staffing our fleet with a mix of tourny mechs as well, we'll have a large number left over for garrison duties.

The templates are there to help in the formation of new units that will be independent of the current crews, for a time when we transit to a proper navy, where units can be swapped from ship to ship without much trouble.

I get it now... So for now we should focus in Ship Squads with a exchangeable garrison that will serve as an example for our forces in the future... Makes sense.

One thing I would like to mention before I forget is that we should refrain for sending many Rocs to our outer systems expeditions...
First, because we need to keep spaces for our loot, and not only for the usual loot but for the mechas we loot too... What should keep in our minds that we need to make each mecha slot as useful as it can be.
Second(but still linked to the first), is that the only advantage the Rocs have on our other mechs is that they are absurdly fast, but they aren't that useful to direct combat against Knights and the like(unless they are on numerical advantage, I've done some simulations and 2 or 3 Rocs usually win against some heavier machines).

So I think that we should maintain a max of only 2 squads of Rocs for the Yamato and Harmonium for the first trip, a full the rest of their space with Shinobi Harpies and Tourney mechs(and in the case of the Harmonium their Morgan's II squad).

I just said that we shouldn't send many Rocs with the Yamato and the Harmonium to out of the system... How does that goes agaisn't protecting the Belt if most of the Rocs remain?
Besides, we will still have the Stone Soldiers and at least an Avalonian ship full of Knights(which we should update into Ulfberth and Templar as fast as possible) chilling out here.... We don't need to have the bulk of our new elite mook forces here when they are going to be vital elsewhere.

Fatima is probably the best to keep in-system for political issues as well as her ties to Mars.

Siren is also valuable for maintaining the popular opinion of us, also her role as the Pirate Queen of Auditorium. Then again, she could be useful for a Minmei Offense on her first extra-solar tour de force.

I bet we could even get people intentionally trying to get kidnapped and robbed by Roarke and Red together.

Clemmy I feel should be kept to training actually. At first. She has experience as a trainer first of all, and second we need her to make a Maenad Squad. Fuck Valkyries, Maenads are where it's at. Also keeps up the Greek theme. Kind of like reverse Amazons, they're looking for a strong man to beat and marry (as opposed to being beaten by).

So that leaves Sam and Lori as the Raiders. Lori will be super useful against Avalonian allies because nothing ruins the propaganda of an infallible goddess like a heretic.

Sam is ideal for scouting and raiding.

They get along reasonably well also. Lori could even bait out Knights to attack her and over-extend themselves while Sam ambushes them.

Wong has mentioned that there will be political repurcussions for lori having to engage avalonian troops. Since we know that the duke and co seem to have some sort of plot going, we should avoid that since it might damage their cause.

In that case, I think Lori would be good on the homefront. Since shes a good mix of martial and leadership with a healthy does of charisma, like wong has mentioned. She'll work up loyalty of our colonies.

One more thing to consider is to give a colony for Lori to protect and establish her base at, having the Avalonians mix with the general population is good long time strategy but for short time will create attrition because of their different culture, so giving them a place to... be avalonians and stuff... Could be helpful...

Also, I feel sad about her losing her palace and everything she had on avalonian grounds... I think its more than fair to give her a Palace or something to remind her of home while we don't get her lands back.

Wouldn't be the first time, won't be the last. Still, the idea was something akin to how Irina described the Mega Bass and Soul units; A high quality piece of hardware showing what we can do.. though, with a twist. Rather than handing out Whydah to anyone with money, sell and customize them to up coming aces. A ranks or 17ers. those who are not quite named ace or have their own unique machines. Customizable to what they need, and decked out in some of the better tech available. Like one of those really fancy cars, customized for the client with potential for more and sold to those who can handle it and would appreciate it, as opposed to the Megacorp practice of 'give enough money and you can have a horribly over engineered machine' like Rashad or that one planetary leader had.
Also, the arms, odd as they are happen to have an important use; what they can hold one handed, our medium strikers can hold with two. It would help with standardization of weaponry only having to worry about 5 spaces and 10 spaces.

What makes you think that I wear this persona beacause of too little social interaction? Its more like the contrary, I get tired of the day-to-day decadence of western society and get here to put my Genkidere mask and fit the group role of the Fool of the party... Man, a few weeks back I was going into or watching political debates every single day, against everything from monarchists to ancoms... Wong being biased by his political views during his writting seems like just a breath of fresh air compared to that.

I do admit however that I have this annoying habit of thinking too much about little details and dispersing my thoughts through many small comments instead of just writting enourmous boxes of text though.

For example, in my mind in this moment I have:

Not really. Cabot was all about the glory and was petulent, getting mad and more akin to jabs. She never saw herself as 'heroic' like the one Caesar fought, and her methods were more sheer damage and destruction. She didn't play smart either.

Regarding micromanaging, no. I'm avoiding it as much as possible. Regarding Mook Mecha... I'm actually leaning in a different direction. Narratively there is no way I'd be rolling dice for a full-scale battle between hundreds of mecha. No, just no. It would therefore be fluff as, so far, most actions with your mecha fleet have been. Individually circumstances might lead to squads of them needing stats, but if that happens it's easy to whip up. The more I considered it, the more I realized that the simplest way to do this in general is to avoid being specific about how many mecha of what types you have even if you know generally. Ships are different because you CAN and DO have fleet battles with them where the big role mecha play is rolling for crits, plus ships are present in smaller numbers. My apologies for the technical issues.

All of which, in the past, have been subordinate to the Jovian and Martian militaries by virtue of not wanting to be on the business end of a warship. Corruption and shifty dealings are practically a tradition among the Hextarchy, bribery was common in the event of a 3-3 split, and that was how the four California Station pirate bands managed to spring up. Operating under a truce negotiated by Captain Jeremiah Ozark of the Iron Kestrels, it forged peace between the Iron Kestrels, Red Siren's fans (the least native and least present of the groups, but they do still have a foothold on California Station as a place to distribute her merchandise more on the up-and-up than Auditorium itself), the Storm Dragons, and the Stone Soldiers. While you operated in the shadows, the Sextarchy was happy to leave you alone.

Now, however, the situation has changed substantially. You've been gone for months, and in that time you've taken a very loose association whose rules were based predominantly on an abundance of loot and no real need to fight over targets and turned it into an actual military alliance. You're coming back with a fleet, as the head of a nation, and with every reason to claim California Station as your territory with the existing governing body completely unable to stop you. If the Green Skulls showed up, the Hextarchs would just have to batten down the hatches and scream for help. Consider what the Jaburo on its own did to the Green Skulls, then think about what the Cincinnatus (A-Class Crew, SOUL mecha onboard including S-Lionfish, and unlike the Jaburo not suffering from recent sabotage) could do. With a few Channels for backup Jupiter could go full boot-on-ant to the Green Skulls, the fact that they didn't do this at Suleiman 1 was one of the first suspicious things in this quest.

It's difficult to decide on a plan, there are pros and cons to each, but...you decide to do things with a little pomp. You'll make sure they can't ignore you. Naturally, you won't turn the guns of your starships on the colony, but whatever is waiting for you, you'll deal with it in the manner it deserves. Swift, brutal force.

Your two ships pierce the veil of space like knives, emerging into the void around California Station outside of sensor distance. Now to begin with the first stage of your plan. Maya accesses the nearest ansible and begins speaking quietly into her comms unit, delivering your instructions to Auditorium to prep both of your Avalonian troopships for battle and immediate gate. Once she's finished, you tap a button on the arm of your chair and address both your ship and the Yamato, “Stealth teams Betta, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, launch at will. Follow the preset flight paths. Samantha, you're in charge. Be careful and come back to me in one piece, okay?”

Clemmy makes a face, and grumbles, “If it was me, you'd KNOW I'm coming back in one piece...”

Mecha launch in squads, the Shinobis first, then Samantha in the Betta with the first two squads of Wraiths produced from 16-Psyche. You've had time to update the Rhinehawk's mecha complement, and you prioritized building a few more stealth mecha to back Samantha up on her sneaking missions. Switching from old-fashioned five-man pirate squads to three-man squads that frequently work in pairs has been a difficult transition for your units, but you're confident in it. One Betta, six Wraiths, and twelve Shinobis split up to canvass the colony as your ships slowly cruise into sensor range.

Brunhilde does something with the controls at her desk, and designations...names and ship classifications...begin to pop up all over the mass of small starships swarming around California Station, moving in and out of its docks. The sight of them makes you frown. Little commercial transports, for the most part, with a few elderly cruisers with the patchwork hull armor and slovenly look you associate with scavvies, it's an appearance you get familiar with quickly in the Belt. A few fat merchant boats, bulk cargo carriers, move demurely out of your way as the massive, hex-winged Rhinehawk moves closer at ¼ maximum thrust, “Maya, hail the station. Highest priority frequency.”

Clemmy makes a happy little noise of anticipation and nips your earlobe, “I've been waiting for this~” She purrs.

Maya nods, and adjusts something on her controls, then nods and gives you a thumbs-up. You suppose that means it's time for you to speak.

You stand up, boot electromagnets clicking as they lock against the floor, “This is Pirate King Roarke Starwind, speaking. Pursuant to the Treaty of Auditorium signed and validated by Planetary Chairman Luxol of Jupiter and the Caliph Hakim of Mars...” You hope you pronounced pursuant right, “...I am here to fulfill Phaeton's charter as a member of the Solar System League and protector of the Belt by taking immediate possession of California Station. Business will continue as usual, but this territory is now under my control, effective immediately. Acknowledge, or face immediate sanction.” Sanction is a word you're only newly familiar with, but it feels good to use. It's an intimidating word, and one whose meaning varies from a meaningless show of opposition to a polite way of saying that your army will inflict grievous seizure of property on an opposing party.

The silence stretches on for a few minutes, “Don't make me hit somebody.” You joke, although you're quite serious. Meridian wanted you to come here for a reason, and your danger senses have the hair on the back of your neck prickling like a porcupine's ruff. Bizarrely, it seems to work.

Maya looks up from her instruments, “Sir, we have a transmission...it's a private call, though, from Colony 1.”

“Onscreen. You order.

She goes to obey, then hesitates, “Ah...we just got another one. This one's from the asteroid.” Meaning the one at the center of the four colonies, holding the shipyards and administrative buildings used by California Station's government, “High-priority frequency, with government hallmarks. Which one should we answer first?”

You put the private call onscreen, and are greeted by the pretty, extremely vicacious face of a blonde-haired girl who looks to be about Karen's age or a bit younger, slightly too close to the viewscreen so that you have a good view of her lips, colored bubblegum pink. Her big, blue eyes are radiant, but not quite innocent, “Hello? Is this thing...oh!” She puts a hand on her cheek, tilting her head to one side slightly, her hair done up in two tails. That style must be becoming popular again or something, “Wow! Even cuter than the posters!” She stares for a moment, then blinks and shakes her head, “Sorry. Just a bit overwhelmed. Wow. Either way, I'm one of your subjects, so...oh Juno, I'm gushing, sorry.” She laughs, it's a pleasant sound.

You wave it off with a smile, “It's charming, I don't mind at all.”

“R-really!?” She looks over your shoulder and blanches, “Please don't kill me, scary lady.”

Clemmy growls softly, eyes narrowing.

“Look, um. I'm not bartering or anything, obviously this is information I'd give you regardless, but...” She steps aside, revealing a very uncomfortable-looking, muscular man strapped to a chair, looking terrified. There's a ball gag in his mouth and a pair of electrical cables, they look like the kind with gator clamps, snaking into his trousers, “A certain big-mouthed new friend of mine here...” She pats his head with her brilliantly pink-painted fingernails, “Told me there's a trap waiting for you. Um, like I said, this information is free, but I used to be a decent pilot and had a shot of making it big in the underground fighting circuit before I had to sell my ride to pay off my uncle's creditors and keep this place going, so...if you could maybe see your way to making my membership official, and making me a pilot...hopefully with something better than a Harpy...I won't let you down. "You probably don't want me distracting you right now." Marian has a sweet, breezy smile considering the circumstances, "Have fun storming the castle, boss. Want me to see if I can get a mob of concerned citizens together so that we can go voice our...objections...to the Hextarchs once you've dealt with the riffraff? Don't worry, I'm not going to put any kids or the elderly in danger, just a bunch of hardy men and women who want to fight for the Pirate King."

The stealth mecha get in position to hit squishier ships or ones that don't have a shield while we take the call and use it to try and maneuver into a favorable position, preferably near any cover/debris in between us and the station, if there is any. We can try to talk them down, but if that doesn't work, the Rhinehawk lauches combat mechs and tries to nuke the largest ship nearby while the stealth mechs take out the squishy DPS adds so we don't have to waste fire on them.

The transports are probably the one with just missiles to spam, we should take care of them first if possible. Best plan for the stealth teams seem to be using Sam to confirm weapons and them splitting the 6 Teams to open fire on the transports for their first attack, after that they'll need to scramble to avoid getting mushed by the mecha complements of the respectives ships (Which should not be difficult for the Harpies and even less to the Wraiths that can just keep skitting everyone).

Also, assuming that our soldiers and the ships have B-Crews(what is very plausible), the roll to specifically hit their systems will be +16 vs +14 For the Harpies and +14 vs +14 for the Wraiths.(If Wong cares about rolling 30d10, what I doubt.)

Honestly, looking at the situation, the thing we need to consider is how much armor and health each transport has. Sending the stealth teams to take out the big ships with called, aimed reactor hits will likely end them (A 5 or less makes them go boom, and a team of 3 has 6 chances total).
Meanwhile, if they ARE dumping health, our beam cannons can one shot each transport. We got 4 shots, Oda likely has some as well, and then you have the avalonians. We can wipe out all 10 missile boats with that fire power and a surprise round could mean we get two tries.
Pinpoint, surgical strikes taking out their big guns would likely shock them.

Aye, which means transports would have 100 Kills each if they are made into gunboats plus armor. One missile from the yamato can take them out and they get +2 to hit. The Avalon war ships ALSO have missiles. With ships, you can use all weapons twice, so that is 6 volleys of missiles. Then you have our heavy guns. 200k, also able to kill transports in 1 hit if modified. Then there are the super heavy avalonian guns which can likely help scuttle any ship with 400k and 100 SP which is likely the bigger ships.
The bigger ships can still die due to reactor explosion, but what I am getting at is, we have a lot of fire power there. We can focus a stealth team or two on disabling their bigger ship, then take out their smaller ones. Sam can keep stealth with some to serve as a sort of 'in case of reinforcements' situation.
Finally, there is Intimidation. We can likely call them out on the trap and tell them we know and that it will not stand after the attempt on our wife and point out that the Five Man Band are Avalonian agents. However, we should offer an out for those pirate and gang forces who wish to surrender. After all, they don't want to be greenmen sympathizers.

My problem with this is strategy is that you're assuming thta they dumped all their kills... We don't know that, they could have just dumped 200Kill for updating their cannons to 200K and putting a missile battery... that would leave them with 400K that are enough the sustain 2 Hits from the Rhinehawk. And there is also the fact that we may not see the Avalonians in a while as we don't know how long they will take to gate to us.

Taking that in consideration, our cannons should be able to take out a transport per turn, not all of them, even if we missile spam them with the Burst rules.

Also, while the transports are dangerous, the main mecha complement should be in the Cargo ship, and taking care of it first could gain us the numerical advantage.

Yes, except you forget something. Called shots. In theory, the Betta COULD be doing what it did at Qu'lir. Line up where the reactor is, coordinate some called shots, and pump it full of pain. Remember, space ships like that die on a roll of 5 or less and it gets worse each hit no matter how much health they have.
As you said, the cargo ships are likely one and done, but splitting our teams too much can have them be picked off and they might not guarentee the instant death. The missiles will. The beams will. 6 less missile boats for the surprise attack is good for us, especially if it will take them a bit to come. We can likely time it so that they warp in just after our surprise to intimidate them further.
If it's going to take multiple hits to end it, then you may as well use the mechs to take down the big ships while we have the element of surprise.

The wraiths can fire at the transports from many KM of distance and have a full speed of 14MA... Nothing will reach them.

Transports are the Smallest class of ships. They have 200 kills. If they are sacrificing kills for spaces, then they only have 100 kills and armor can't go very high. And I am not suggesting breaking them up. I am suggesting sending a squad on EACH of the three bigger ships, maybe with more concentrated on the bigger one to make SURE it's done.
Meanwhile each of those transports likely do have strike missiles. Perhaps 2 if they are sacrificing kills. That means each could fire 4 750 kill missiles on their opening salvo. That is 40 Striker missiles with +2 to attack in the worse case and then they are done. Even if the CIWS is used like anti missiles that is a lot.
The bigger ships probably focused on beam cannons and the like so less damage in a burst but more sustained.

Those ships likely have C class crew and the +2 put them on the same level as us. That is 13 ships worth of missiles. 26 shots at least. We would need to do better on a roll 75% of the time. If they are that sturdy we can likely get 3 transports down, and maybe the big ships before they attack. if we are lucky and do not miss. Then you factor in crits that could hurt the Yamato badly.

We take the call to get everyone battle ready, and to use it to set a point. Go for the big ships still for sabotage since they are likely still incredibly dangerous and also the ones that will cause the most confusion.
We want to intimidate, scare as many as we can, show the image of us killing Miridian, and hope it demoralizes them, gets them to turn coat, or flee.
Our ship is the most maneuverable thing out there. Do not be a sitting duck, use it to put the enemy forces into disarray and make it so we always have the positional advantage. Time the speech so the avalonian ships pop up so we have 4 vs 13 in the fight proper.
This is 3 dimensional warfare and they are a mass of ships. All that fire power will not help them if they can't hit, and we can send out squads as we maneuver to deal with situations as they pop up.
Also, keep in mind that our heavies have more range than their missiles. Hit and run can work wonders.

You'd been proceeding in a relaxed formation, with the Yamato slightly ahead, turning to present its broadside as if angling for a dock. The closest transport doesn't stand a chance.

The bureaucrat stands gawping, emotion tinging his voice for the first time, “Oh no! Oh nooo! This isn't what was supposed to happen!” His voice chokes as he realizes what he just said, and he scrambles away from the screen. He terminates the call with panic in his eyes.

Maya is in close communication with your stealth mecha, and they're clear of it as the small ship erupts into flames, streaks of plasma dissecting it, clearly revealing the outsized missiles filling its belly as they detonate in brilliant bronze and orange tones.

Space warps on either side of your vessels, distorting in the way that glass is said to flow and distort when left untouched for centuries, rippling like some incredibly thick liquid as the lance-like tips of their prows break free from the gates.

You stand up and run for the mechbay, “Shields up the moment I launch!” You command.

...and with that, Avi is abruptly in control. You are now the Rhinehawk's chubby helmsman.

The only thing that isn't awesome about the new Rhinehawk is that you didn't get to put it through its paces sooner. It's so fast, so powerful, and so durable, too. The only other thing that annoys you is that you can't put the shields up, doing so would trap the boss inside. Mecha pour from the Yamato and Rhinehawk's bays like bees from a hive, glittering lights sparkling between the stars as the Pirate King rushes to his mech, his blonde wife at his elbow.

Answering mecha pour from the three larger enemy ships and three of the surviving transports. You don't have time to worry about that, though. Enemy fire is incoming, and your hands spin across the controls.

The Rhinehawk dances. Its huge, graceful bulk moves like a raptor in flight, banking between the parallel lines of fire that rake through space. Only three surviving vessels are close enough to attack you immediately, but the remaining ones are coming into position and your reinforcements haven't quite breached warp yet. The Yamato takes a minor hit, but its sturdy hull absorbs it, and it circles as your ship continues to advance.

You focus on the Heavy Cruiser, the most threatening of the remaining three and the one you most want to hit. Your beams scour it, carving away pieces of its hull, and then...you must have hit the reactor, because it detonates in a massive fireball, the mecha emerging in a defensive cloud around it exploding or melting too, brilliant fireworks rising up.

One beam even reaches through the disintegrating cruiser to tag one of the transports behind it. You're proud of that. It spins on its axis from the jet of plasma striking its tail, turning it side-on to the Yamato, which rakes its sides with fire, then fires a sextet of missiles. The transport jukes frantically and manages to avoid one volley of missiles, but the other smashes through the defensive curtain of CIWS fire, somewhat gappy from the damage the transport has already taken, and burst it to pieces.

“Three ships down, one third of enemy power suppressed.” Brunhilde remarks, and you look at her with annoyance. You can count. The third transport suddenly erupts, lightning flickering along part of its hull before its engine, too, bursts. You can almost swear you see a dark shape zipping away just ahead of the blastwave.

Then, the Avalonian gunships emerge fully from folded space, their superheavy batteries blazing and volleys of missiles erupting towards the approaching six vessels.

The biggest enemy ship, the ugly, almost grublike mass cargo hauler sloughs its front section of armor to reveal a nightmarish visage, its entire front end studded with cannons to form an erzatz superheavy battery of its own. That isn't good enough, it just gets their attention.

Loriette's blue-and-gold lance ship hammers it with fire. It fires a huge bank of engines on its underside and manages to avoid her first volley, but her aim adjusts and scores its belly. Then she launches her missiles and, unlike Oda moments before, keeps nary a one in reserve against this threat. The monstrous light battleship's already freakish form is tattered by the time missiles stop pinging its hull, and then...familiar laughter booms out over the comms.

“OHOHOHOHOHO~ ARE YOU WATCHING, DARLING!?” You wince at the volume as the scarlet Avalonian ship and its new apparent captain cheekily steal Loriette's kill, a head-on volley tearing the enemy heavy asunder lengthwise through the rents in its armor. She, too, empties her missile banks, this time on the remaining heavy cruiser. Its weapons, sensors, and turrets all melt to slag before a secondary volley from her main guns ignites its missile pod and the cruiser, too, explodes.

The four transports remaining seem to take stock of their options, turning as one towards the Rhinehawk and firing in concert, unloading everything they have. Missiles fill the void, beams streak through space, and the Rhinehawk rocks and shudders as four missiles and two different sets of beam cannons strike its hull, and yet...despite the gouges in its armor, despite the many indicators of damage flashing across your screens because sirens and warning klaxons are loud and distracting, the battleship is holding fine, easily continuing to operate at full capacity...and that was with its shields down.

Speaking of which, you receive a signal abruptly, and with a smile, you press a button and a glowing field expands around the Rhinehawk, fitting tight against its contours. The Pirate King has entered the battle, and you...you feel immeasurably pleased with yourself for a fine bit of piloting. “Maya...” You lean over and poke her.

“Yes, cuddlewuggums?” She remarks, looking over her shoulder.

“How about...” You're about to name a treat, something sweet you feel you've earned, but something inside your soft and squishy gut changes your mind. You want to surprise her, “Some grilled chicken and greens for dinner tonight?”

Her eyes sparkle, “Pookie! You're following your diet! You really are! Eeee!” She tackles you in a hug.

My vote goes for getting one of each for the A-Crew quartet, getting a Jager to Gretchen and giving the last one to the Bar girl who is helping us now to decide based on her fighting style.

Honestly, Valkyries may suit the quartet better than anything else. More defensive and makes full use of the pumpkinseed II parts. Jagers work better with normal pumpkinseeds, same with libra and gyr. We also have plenty of pumpkinseed 1s if I recall.

We have more 8 from the Cleander and 24 from the Stone Soldiers(if we didn't get any more in the time jump).
They are probably going to get updated later, though, as we seem to still be weighted down by the Dutchman production for Luna.

Having a squad of Valkyries isn't a bad idea, but that is betting all of our card in melee as they don't have much ranged options, in that regard the Jager serves as a better multirole.
The Gyr is a special case, though, he is specced to recon and can even detect things like the Betta if he has the chance... As a combatant, though, its either a Sniper or a missile boat, not something really usefull for prolonged combats most of the type.
Or at least that is my opinion about it, Michael probably would disagree with me.

remember, weapons can be replaced or changed about for non melee options. They could be outfitted with CROWE rifles or Myrm weapons if needed. The Jager is a good machine, but it's heavier than most and works well as a workhorse as opposed to a elite unit. Also, why would we be weighted down? We said before it's easier to upgrade than build anew.
