Goku and Cell speed across the ring, fading in and out of sight every few seconds, neither making a strike at the moment. From what you can tell, Goku's fleeing from Cell, who keeps right on him, not allowing any chance to escape.

Finally, Cell lands a kick to Goku's jaw, throwing the Super Saiyan's head back. The monster grabs onto Goku's throat, and the Super Saiyan answers with a knee-strike to Cell's gut. Cell hunches ever so slightly, but does not release his grip.

Goku kicks with both legs as Cell's guts, firing off energy blasts that cause Cell to lose his grip. Goku leaps back, rubbing his throat and catching his breath as Cell smirks through the smoke at him.

Glaring angrily, Goku speeds toward Cell, attempting an elbow strike that Cell blocks with his left arm. Cell punches with his right, and Goku only brings up a knee just in time to stop it. Goku's leg pushes off Cell's fist, and the Saiyan lands in front of him.

The two lock hands, and begin to push against one-another, attempting to push each-other from the ring like sumo wrestlers. At first, Goku gains some momentum, but after a few feet, Cell stops him dead, pushing back and quickly sliding Goku toward the edge of the ring.

You see Goku scowl, then open his mouth, firing off a blast of energy that catches Cell right in the face. Wrenching his hands away from Cell's, Goku jumps and kicks Cell in the head, spinning and kicking the monster in the chest with his other leg. As Cell slides back, Goku lands and cups his hands at his side.

A blue ball of light quickly forms between his palms, and a beam of energy shoots toward Cell, who brings his arms up to block it. The blast pushes him back further and further, until finally, Cell manages to break through it, only to find Goku right on top of him.

With a powerful punch, Goku knocks Cell off his feet, sending the monster out of the ring. Cell quickly brings up a hand, and reappears in the ring using Instant Transmission.

"Not bad, Goku," he admits with a smile. "You've managed to gain quite an impressive amount of power."

Goku turns to Cell, a smirk coming to his face. "I've got plenty more where that came from."

Cell answers with a smirk of his own. "I'm counting on it."

Goku fires off another Bear Shout, which Cell knocks away rather easily. This momentary distraction allows Goku to get away from the edge, and a moment later, both warriors vanish into thin air once again, appearing as they slam together over the ring.

"Amazing," Tenshinhan remarks, having evidently broken his meditation. "Even for Goku."

"Get him, daddy!" Kori shouts. "I know you can win!"

"It doesn't matter," Piccolo tells you. "If Cell's treating this like a game, he can get sloppy, he can make mistakes, and Goku can take full advantage of them."

"I don't think Cell's gonna take a ring-out in stride, if that's what Goku's going for," you tell him.

"At the very least, Goku will tire Cell out a bit at this rate, and if he gets in some good hits because Cell got careless, even better," Piccolo remarks. "This entire tournament doesn't hinge on this one match, and Goku knows that."

In the sky, Goku attempts to elbow the top of Cell's head, only for Cell to vanish and reappear beside Goku, throwing a kick that passes right through an afterimage as Goku attacks from above, only to hit through an afterimage of Cell. Goku then vanishes once again, and the two reappear to exchange a furious series of attacks, their movements and clashes sending out strong bursts of wind every few seconds.

Chunks of the Earth begin to rip up, rising into the air as the sky begins to darken. You can see electricity begin to surround the two combatants, and a bolt of lightning shoots out, ripping through the ground and forcing you and those beside you to scatter and avoid it.

Shen frowns at the display, and you see a troubled look on Roshi's face.

Mr. Satan shouts something about this whole thing being ridiculous and impossible, while Devilman quickly flies a distance away to avoid being struck.

Another bolt strikes right behind Kori and Konattsu, but neither one of them so much as flinch, eyes glued to the fight.

The intense energy only grows as the two warriors continue their clash, each move they make causing a section of the ground to shatter. By now, most of you are actively readying yourselves to dodge or shield yourselves if something comes your way, though Lapis, Lazuli, Kori, and Konattsu don't seem to have any such issues.

Like a crack of thunder, you hear Goku's fist finally connect with Cell, knocking the wind out of the monster, and allowing Goku to flip and kick him in the back of his head. Cell falls to the ring below, managing to land in a crouch, but still sending broken tiles everywhere and causing part of the ring to crater with the impact.

In the sky above, a hurricane seems to rage around Goku, who has brought every drop of energy he can spare to the surface, readying himself for one, final strike.

Cell rises back up, looking up toward your friend with a grin.

"So, this is it, Goku? Everything you have?" he asks, laughter in his voice. "It's impressive, but if you think it's anywhere near enough to bring me down, you're deluding yourself!"

Cell lowers his inner barriers just a bit, and you feel everything go cold as a terrifying amount of energy is released. The monster's powers rise and rise, quickly eclipsing Goku's.

"Now, what do you think you can do, Goku?" he challenges, holding out his arms to either side. "Hit me with your best shot, it won't do a thing!"

Goku looks down at Cell with unbridled fury, and you gasp as you see a red aura surround your friend, accompanied by a massive boost in his energy.

Cell's grin wavers.

Goku must be out of his mind. Using the Kaio-Ken on top of a Super Saiyan transformation, even if he has essentially mastered the form, is suicide. You can feel it, his body struggling to hold together as the wild energy being unleashed threatens to rip it apart. As far as you can tell, only raw willpower is keeping Goku alive right now.

Goku grits his teeth, bringing his hands to his side.

"Ka.....me......" he begins, the sky going dark as a cloudy evening.

Cell begins to laugh, but you can hear just a twinge of nervousness. "You're bluffing, Goku. We both know you won't fire that thing from that angle. If I dodge, or even if I don't, an attack like that will shatter this fragile little planet."

Goku's eyes shine with something terrifying, and you're beginning to believe that he has every intention of actually using that attack.

You remain right where you are, reflecting that Piccolo may have been right about this match.

A blue orb materializes between Goku's palms, and the ground rumbles beneath your feet. A vortex of energy seems to connect Goku and Cell in that moment, and you pray to whatever gods might be listening and capable of doing something that your friend doesn't destroy the world and everyone on it with this attack.

"Ha.....me......" Goku continues, his energy sending out a shockwave that pushes you and the others back a few feet.

His control over his current state does not seem to be improving. In fact, you're pretty sure that, if he doesn't cut this out soon, he is going to die, amazing willpower or no.

"Is he crazy?!" Chi-Chi shouts worriedly. "He'll kill us all!"

"No," Master Roshi tells her. "Even Goku wouldn't do something so reckless. He's got a plan."

"I hope you're right about that," Yamcha gulps.

In the distance, you can see Devilman frantically flapping his wings to try and stay in the air.

"What is that fool doing?!" he shouts over the howling wind.

Uncertainty begins to register on Cell's face, and you feel the monster's power begin to rise once again.

Goku suddenly vanishes from the sky, appearing in a crouch right behind Cell, who turns, wide-eyed, as Goku thrusts his hands and lets out a yell of pain and fury.

"HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"

There's a flash of light, and then an ear-shattering boom. You're thrown off of your feet from the ensuing shockwaves, and sent flying through the air.

Flipping, you land in a crouch and slide back even further. You can't see anything in this cloud of dust and debris, and you can barely keep your eyes open as you fight against the force pushing against you.

You struggle against the storm of energy, finally using the Kuma-Ken to give yourself the edge you need and flying above the dust cloud. There's not much to see up there at first, but soon, things begin to die down, and you're able to get a better look.

The arena is gone, completely shattered into pieces. Goku lies on his stomach, his Super Saiyan glow having vanished. You can hardly even sense his energy.

Cell is missing his left arm, his left shoulder, most of his jaw, half of that crown thing on his head, both wings, and a good portion of his torso. He lets out a frustrated yell as his body begins to bulge, and the missing parts regenerate themselves.

He looks down at Goku, breathing heavily, before placing a foot on top of your friend's head.

Having Tofoo just pop-in and kick Cell dead in the dome after Goku ITKame'd him made me think back something another anon once said, how in some Parallel/Alternate universe, this Quest is the Actual Dragonball series they have there, which makes me wonder how those fans think of Goku?

I meant he's strong, usually just as or stronger than Tofoo, but he really doesn't finish off main bad guys all that often, despite, as far as they know, he's a lone destined alien warrior of legend since no other saiyans, aside from his offspring, have been in conversation about becoming Super Saiyan themselves.

In fact, besides a Saiyan woman from the Black Star Arc, which as far as they think was just Som!Toriyama telling the audience Saiyans still exist out-there, he'd be the only one.

One thing we've got going for us is that with Goku knocked out, no one's going to be throwing Cell our senzu beans any time soon. Wearing him down might actually work, and if we die, that doesn't mean someone else can't finish him off after whatever damage we do. I actually like this way of doing things a lot better than how canon did it. Goku's fight meant literally nothing in canon, because he just helped Cell heal up before Gohan stepped in.

You can sense enormous power coming off of him, and your strike against him was enough contact to know that he's not using his full strength. But, you sensed something else. Goku's attack might not have been enough to kill Cell, but the monster used a fair bit of energy defending himself, and even some more regenerating from the damage Goku did.

He's lost some of his power. But, will it be enough?

Time for the battle to begin. You drop into your favored defensive stance, readying yourself for what's to come.

Cell stops, smirks, then begins to laugh. "You can't be serious! Do you really think you have the power to match me? I can shatter your defenses with a single strike."

You narrow your eyes, waiting for Cell to come over and prove it.

Cell vanishes, but somehow, you're able to flawlessly track his movements, bringing your left arm up to block a kick that he suddenly throws from your side.

Cell's eyes widen, and you push his leg away, leaping and spinning, throwing a kick at the monster's head. He ducks beneath it, a frown on his face.

"Don't get cocky," he warns, throwing a punch up at you.

Somehow, you manage to twist out of the way, landing on your feet in front of Cell, who rises to tower above you.

"That's more agility than I expected from you," Cell admits. "Let's see if you can keep up with this speed!"

Cell throws another punch, which you quickly swat aside, answering with a punch that actually manages to catch Cell off-guard, slamming your fist into his gut, and causing him to stagger back as you remain in your defensive stance.

Scowling, he attacks once more, the two of you vanishing into the air in the same instant, rising higher and higher as Cell attacks you with a furious series of punches, all of which you manage to knock aside. You don't even question how you're doing it, just hoping that it lasts long enough for you to launch a successful counterattack.

Cell throws a kick aimed at your head, and as you duck under it, a hand thrusts toward your face. Quickly muttering "Kai-Kai", you appear behind Cell, throwing a punch into the small of his back, giving his body a jolt. He vanishes, and you spin just in time to catch one of his punches. His knee comes up, only to be met with your own.

Growling, Cell lets out a burst of energy, and you find yourself pushed back through the air, but ultimately unharmed. He moves in again, but it's already becoming easier to anticipate his attacks, and he only grows more furious as he fails to land any hits.

Seeing an opening, you throw an uppercut, catching Cell right in the jaw. As the monster's head is thrown back, you notice something that surprises you.

There's no longer a green aura surrounding your fist, but a blue one. In fact, your entire aura, even your energy, has changed.

You've gone into your god form without even realizing it, and you're tapping into more power than before.

Cell recovers, holding out his right arm and conjuring an energy blade, which he swings at you, aiming to cut you in twain. Your own sword materializes as you raise your hand over your head, stopping Cell's before it can reach you.

Cell's face contorts in anger, striking again and again with his blade, the attacks becoming more fast and brutal by the second. Yet, each time he strikes, you manage to fend the attack off, until finally, you slice off his arm.

Cell's eyes widen in shock, and he quickly pulls back, regrowing his arm as he looks at you in disbelief.

"Where did this power come from?" he demands. "Why can't I feel your energy? How can you stop my attacks?!"

Without answering his question, you rush forward, bringing up your blade and swinging down. Cell brings up his arm and produces a new one just in time to stop your attack from slicing into his skull.

Pushing you away from him, Cell thrusts his free hand toward you, two fingers pointed at your heart.

"MAKANKOSAPPO!" he roars, firing a spiraling beam of red light.

Bringing your sword up just in the nick of time, you knock the attack aside, sending it spiraling off into the distance as you move in on Cell once more, swiftly slicing at his outstretched arm.

His sword comes to block it just in time, but a well-placed Bear Shout to the face knocks him back and lowers his guard, allowing you to move in and slice off his sword-arm, then stab into his body, slicing upward and removing his left arm, as well as the left section of his wings.

Cell's limbs quickly regenerate, and he thrusts his arms toward you, firing off a powerful wave of energy at point blank range. The wave consumes an afterimage, and you strike again, this time slicing him in half, his legs falling to the ground as the rest of his body spins, only just managing to bring up an energy blade to stop your next attack.

His free hand thrusts toward you, and a wave of light pushes you away, though it does little actual damage from what you can tell.

Cell regenerates yet again, only this time, you can see that his breathing has become labored. He's really losing energy now.

If there's a chance of failing energy dispersal, DON'T DO IT. Cell doesn't know we know this technique, so weakening him to his absolute lowest point is the best chance we have to use it. Plus, Grand Kai said it would be far harder to use this technique on a living being, so we need to maximize our chance.

The problem is that if we weaken him too much, he's gonna try and blow himself/the planet up because he's a sore loser, and I'm not sure if the technique will do much good then, because wouldn't it at best reduce him to his base level without absorbing anyone, which is still enough to destroy the world?
