>The Intro
Hey y'all. If you couldn't tell, this quest will be taking place in the well known DC Comics universe. Here there be gods and monsters, magicians and aliens, and even a clown or two. But bear in mind that due to various time travel related and or multiversal shenanigans, the DC world is ridiculously complex as a whole. So I'll be running a very streamlined version of it. And to be up front about it, it will likely be shaped by my own likes, dislikes, and biases.
Oh, and aforementioned shenanigans won't be making an appearance.
Mostly.

>The Rules
I will write up the life of our young hero Morgan Barret, a high school student who has just truly begun his career as a superhero in Gotham City as Gray Ghost, you will be given prompts to direct him.
Some things will require a dice roll to determine success or failure or something else entirely. Write In's are absolutely encouraged but I reserve the right to torpedo anything.

The voting period will last 20 minutes after the prompts are given. I will then announce the voting closed and write up the chosen response.

>The Dice
We will be using 1d100 ninety percent of the time here. Best of three. We might use something else when applicable. I'll be running with a loose sort of degrees of success/failure thing here so no real DCs.

Let's have some fun.

Flame.

So much you're lost in it. The warmth of it all. The colors. Orange and red and yellow, then orange again. And those short lived flickers of blue. The fire burning at it's hottest. That's not to say you don't hear the building creaking and dying around you. Moaning in a way only a large structure can. An inanimate object's death knell. But truly, it's not the fires you're lost in. It's his eyes. Red, and small like pinpricks, but oh so deep. They go one forever. And he's staring right at you. Staring so intently.

His gaze has you fixed in place so firmly, you feel like the whole world could lurch to and fro and you wouldn't budge an inch. Like he can reach you no matter where you hide. No matter where you run...

"Morgan!"

But it all comes crashing down and flushes from your mind like it water when you feel a hand slap you good and hard across your masked mug. You can barely register that it's your friend and teammate Artemis that popped you one as she's screaming something at you while shaking your shoulders. Practically rocking you. Something about survivors.

"Morgan! Don't make me hit you again!" Your blonde friend dares, and for some reason, it actually puts a smile on your face.

"Don't think that'll be necessary, Blondie." You begin to float off the hardwood floors again and instinctively get back to work. You can feel Artemis' eyes on your back but you hear her boots on the floor dashing off before too long. Seconds later, you're slipping through the cracks of a door to get to the screams for help on the other side.

You coalesce on the other side and your met with nothing but more screams as a pair of twin girls attempt to somehow get further away from you in the corner of the room. You'd just grab them but that'll only make them panic more. Okay, time for a new tactic. You kneel down about a few feet away from them and lower your face mask so they can see your pearlie whites. "See? I only look like a ghost. C'mon, I can get you outta here."

>Continued
>>
>>2148026
Although reluctantly, the girls take your hand in theirs and you waste no time getting out. You throw a scattering of suppressing capsules and your escape becomes clear, for now. Telling the girls to cover their eyes, you harden a leg and smash the door off it's hinges and scoop them up in your arms as you make for the open window you and Artemis used to get in.

After a tense run down a hall of flames you leap out of the large window and the girls in your arms give one last yelp of terror before you start slowly descending to the ground. You even bite back a chuckle as there horrified expression near instantly transform into looks of childish wonder. You're nearly touching down in the nearby shadowed alley when the blare of sirens finally reach you and the the fire department arrives.

And the looks you get from them aren't that different from the ones you got from the boys in blue when you were last out with Batman. But this time they're paying more attention to the girls you land with and gently push towards the firemen, they even look back to you with a small bit of hesitation. But you just pull your facemask back up and hold your index finger up, and they are whisked away by firemen who aren't busy defeating the flames.

The sound of shattering glass pulls your attention back up just in time to see Artemis rappelling down with a full grown man. She lands quickly and the man goes on his way towards the firemen but breaks into a sprint when he sees the twins being checked over by paramedics. His own girls, no doubt. The sight brings a smile to your face, at least until Artemis rolls up beside you on her bike. "Morgan, what was that in there? You just lost it for like a couple minutes."

You want to give her an answer, a real one. You really do. But you don't have one. "I dunno, it was like I was doing my thing one second, and then, you were slappin me."

She winces at the mention of it. "Yeah, sorry about that."

"Eh, we were in a burning building. Speaking of which, we need to get a move on. I saw Firefly heading west just after we got here. We can still catch up if he keeps stopping to set fire to every goddamn thing."

The now familiar whistle of your grapnel accompanies the roar of Artmis' bike's engine as you both speed off towards Firefly's most likely location. It's not hard, you just use your goggles to get the locations of each newly reported fire and follow the trail. But something about this whole thing is striking you as odd. Firefly has never gone on a rampage like this. From what little you know about him he prefers to just set a few fires, get his rocks off, and go into hiding... or get his ass kicked by Bats or Batgirl.

>"Don't you think this is all a little much for Firefly?"
>"Hey where's that other goon that Firefly hangs with? Y'know the uhh, the moth dude."

Something strikes you as you fly closer and closer to Firefly's next stop. "Hey where's that other goon that Firefly hangs with? Y'know the uhh, the moth dude. I thought they always ran together."

"You mean Killer Moth?" Artemis says the codename like it's the worst joke she ever heard. "No idea. He might still be at home crying over the last time Batgirl whooped him in front of a live audience."

You shrug in midair. "Just askin' cause I heard he carries around some kinda acid gun. And I'm not gettin' doused in acid tonight."

Both you and Artemis clam up as you approach the newest burning building, the fire has already started but it's just beginning, and Firefly is close. You can smell the accelerant he uses in the air. You land and Artemis gets your back as you float along the street, her bow drawn. What gives? A guy that flying around with a military grade flamethrower and a jetpack usually ain't this subtle.

Artemis stops you with a hand on your shoulder and you both stop. And listen. It's damn quiet. Far too quiet. There's noone in this building. No alarms going off. Just...

A glint passes in the corner of your eye, near the flames. You down just in time to notice a red lined canister roll near your feet.

Alarm bells go off in your head, and your leg strikes out before you can really think. You turn to book it but but as soon as you turn your back you feel the force and heat of the incendiary as it goes off. Your headset built into your goggles saves your ears from the temporary damage and pain but the same can't be said for your back. You don't think you're burned but it stings like nothing else. And the blast knocked you flat on your chest, spread-eagle.

Artemis' boots come into your vision as she steps around you to line up a shot on... something. Something in the flames. She looses several arrows into the burning hole in the wall of the building but as far as you can tell, she's just shooting into a wall of flame. That is at least, until a intense gout of fire spews from the hole just as you find your bearings again. You're able to take off with your grapnel this time and Artemis hangs onto your shoulder to hitch a ride. You land together on the roof opposite the burning building.

Part of you wants to touch your back to assess the damage but it feels sorta numb already, best to just leave it alone. Besides, you're already pissed. "What in the hell was that?! My goggles didn't pick up anything!"

Artemis just tries to catch her breath away from the hot flames. "I-I don't know! It's gotta be Firefly. I thought I saw someone- or something when I shot earlier, but now? I'm not so sure."

Suddenly, a explosion rips through the building across the street, the whole structure erupting in flames. It's all burning so brightly now. "Allow me to elucidate the situation."

The sound of the new voice outs you and Artemis on edge even more than before but you have no idea where it's coming from! Until a light flickers, at the peak of the fire. hanging over the building. The lights flicker and shimmer until a man becomes visible. Just who you both thought. Firefly. But he seems different. His suit is different. "He looks from Artemis to you again before finishing. "You. Don't have a name for you. Won't need one though." He raises his hulking monstrosity of a weapon. "Black Mask sends his regards."

And with that, a few projectiles loose themselves from His weapon and your goggles let you know they're targeting you in particular. Whatever your gameplan is Barret, you've gotta act fast!

>Just get away from Artemis, the rockets are targeting you and she shouldn't be anywhere near the blast radius.
>Grapnel to him and hit him with your suppressing capsules on him, that oughta give him pause at least.
>Try and turn his rockets on him! I=It won't be easy but if you can ground him this fight'll be much easier.

It barely takes you a second to decide. You grapnel over to the next building and the rockets veer to follow you. You hear Artemis call after you but you're not turning back now. Not while these are on your tail. You pick up speed more and more as you leave a wispy grey trail inbetween alleyways and over buildings.

Okay, okay, now that you've got them. What're you gonna do with them? Use a manhole as a shield? No, stupid. The flames will still cook you. Even if you harden your whole body. Which you still can't do. Let em explode on an abandoned building? Workable. But if there's even one person in there you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

Okay, Okay. You'll have to chance it, these things are gaining every time you have to cast a new line with your grapnel. You'll be a scorch mark before long, and that'll leave Artemis completely alone with the pyromaniac. After passing into the narrows. You spy the perfect opportunity. There!

A circular vent leading into a moldy old warehouse, the things mostly made of concrete and brick. You speed up after throwing yourself one last time with the grapnel becoming as light as possible before dispersing completely and flying right through the vent. YOu take cover behind some old crates as soon as you reform and the boom still shakes you.

Your hooded head slowly pops up to survey the destruction. The rockets left a burning hole in the base of this wall but no ones around. Cept for maybe a few singed rats. Damn that was close. Shit like this is like cold bucket of water on your head, reminding you that your powers can't just poof every problem away. but that's what Ted'd training was for. You never would've gotten away that fast a few months ago.

"Ghost! Come in!" Artemis' voice nearly makes you forget that you almost blew up.

"On my way back! It took me a while to-"

"Doesn't matter, get back here now! Our problem just got bigger." The comm goes silent before you can ask how so you grapnel out without wasting anytime.

-----

"What the fuck?" Is all you can muster when you get back to the scene of the fight. There's evidence of Artemis' trick arrows all over the buildings and in the street but no sign of her. What's more interesting at this particular moment are the pillars and sheets of ice randomly stuck onto the walls. There's no way one her arrows did all this.

But you don't have to question yourself for long. The wall to your right explodes and Firefly zips out with a single wing semi frozen. The rotors struggling to keep him aloft. His visor glows an angry dark orange. "Back off Freeze! This is a paid gig and I didn't step on your turf!"

A man emerges from the new hole Covered head to toe in some sort of suit. Reminds you of something a deep-sea diver would wear, in a way. And his head is encased in a bulbous helmet. The inside of which is covered in frost. But his blood red googles shine through. "Ah. but you did. And your wanton destruction may have cost Nora dearly." The barrel of his gun begins to take on a cool blue glow.

>Attack Firefly! Hit him with the grapnel!
>Attack the new guy! He's clearly not a hero. And he's even worse than Firefly if he can almost ground him so easily.
>Find Artemis first, you don't like that she's nowhere to be seen.

Find a friend wins it.

And yeah, it's abandoned somewhat. Like, people live here but they cleared the fuck out when the supervillains got here.
>>
>>2148867
Neither of the supervillains are paying you any mind. And you're in the perfect position to hook Firefly's jetpack with your grapnel and feed him a knuckle sandwich but you don't like that Blondie ain't nowhere around.

So you disperse and flow into the nearby alleyway and crouch around the corner. The fight between villains resumes while you take moment to breathe and try to reach Artemis on comms. "Hey. Blondie. You'd better respond."

A explosion booms out from around the corner, sending a wave of heat washing over you again. You hit the comms again. "Blondie? Artemis? C'mon. Pick up!"

"I hear you loud and clear Ghost." Your shoulders sag in relief for about a second before a cold wind digs it's icy fingers into you. Causing you to shiver as you watch the showdown between elemental villains.

"Please tell me you've got some good arrows left in that quiver." Peering around the corner again, you can see the fight is going in Ice Guy's favor. He's nearly grounded Firefly but he's getting slower. Is is the heat?

"They're all good. But I think I've got something you'd like. You see me? Rooftop. Two buildings down." Sure enough, as you scan the nearby rooftops your goggles outline Artemis' silhouette in green.

"Whaddya have in mind?"

"I go high, you go low?"

Giving the current playing field one last look you grin when you realize what Artemis has planned. "Good ol' one two eh? Okay, let's him em where it hurts!"

I'm kind of torn about this quest returning since I really liked the epilogue you gave
>>
>>2149140
Me too.
Hell, I have no idea when this battle takes place or how far along we are.
>>
>>2149021
With a wicked grin on your face, you wait for Artemis' signal, she overdraws her bow and lowers it directly at Firefly's back. She nods, and you disperse as soon as she gives the go ahead. Creeping along the floor, you sneak on over and snake you way around sheets and spikes of ice to get to your new friend. And just as soon as you get directly behind him, Artemis looses her arrow.

It makes an odd whistling sound as it flies through the air, sticking to Firefly's jetpack with an odd metallic ping. Everyone experiences one moment of confusion before Firefly starts to scream. There's a strange high pitched whine coming from him but he's going nuts. Iceman's momentary pause is all you need.

You rocket from you place on the ground, swiftly placing yourself in front of him and bursting forth, reasserting yourself in the pose of a champion's uppercut. Ice Cube takes it on the chin and his feet leave the ground for just a moment before he he lands flat on his back. Artemis shoots a followup that finally takes Firefly's jetpack out of commission. He screams until he crashed through the brick of a nearby corner store.

The rotors of his jetpack spin pathetically and you can't help but spare a laugh at his expense. Artemis lands and hangs her bow over her shoulder and stands next to you. "Even with his new toys, he wasn't a match for Freeze."

"You just come up with that?"

She gives you a look. "That's his name. Mister Freeze."

"Oh. Not terribly original huh?"

"Depends on how you spell it."

You and Artemis wheel around instantly, your training kicking in at the sound of Mister Freeze's voice. Goddammit all. How could you just leave him lying there? You didn't even check him!

>Continued
>>
>>2149181
By the time you've turned around you feel an intense cold wash over your body, followed very quickly by an empty numbness. He nailed you. A little more than half of your body is encased in the ice. Artemis raises her bow but Freeze points his gun at her next. "You'll refrain from shooting at me if you want your friend here to live. I've no interest in killing disciples of Batman, but my hand has been forced more than once tonight."

Artemis glares at him like she could let loose at any time. But in the end, she lowers her bow and Freeze nods. "A wise choice. Now, the two of you are coming with me. Batman will be here any moment and he's going to listen to what I have to say if I-"

And that's all you get to hear. You were staring right at the guy and it's taking you a moment to process exactly what the hell just happened in front of you. In just a half, no, a quarte of a moment. Mister Freeze disappears after a dark blue passed over him.

Dumbstruck. You and Artemis look at each other. And then up. And what you see? Well... It's going to be a long night.

>"What. The. Fuck."

The silence that fills the air as you both watch helplessly as the freaky creature carries Mister Freeze into the night could easily be accompanied by some crickets. But rather than cheap sound effects, you break it with the first the that come to your mind. "What. The. Fuck."

"You're tellin me..." Artemis watches the monster fly for a second longer before shaking herself out of the shock. "Okay, we've got some work ahead of us. Let's get you out of there."

"Wait wait wait, hold your horses Blondie. I think I can bust myself outta here." She stands back and waits while you... uh. Grunt and twist your upper body ineffectually. Huh.

Your Archer friend giggles at your expense as she walks around you and removes the arrow from Firefly, cuffing him while she's at it. She hits a switch on the arrowhead and that weird low hum comes back as she presses it against the ice around you. The whole thing starts to vibrate before it cracks all over and it break it under your own power. You stumble, just a little bit. Still numb.

Artemis supports you until you stand on your own and get the feeling back in your legs. "Gotham is such a lovely place."

Before you can ask what's next. Something pops up in the corner of your hud. Huh, Robin? You pick up his comms call and he wastes no time. "Ghost? You hear about Gotham's pest problem?"

"Heard it? Artemis and I just saw it carry off Mister Freeze to it's nest. What's the plan here?"

"Come to the waypoint I'm sending you and we'll go from there. This is even bigger than it seems."

One look at Artemis tells you she caught all that. So off you go.

>Continued
>>
>>2149506
When you reach Robin's waypoint, you're actually surprised. And you're surprised that you're surprised. Even after all the twists and turns that you've encountered just tonight you'd think that nothing would surprise you anymore. But here you are, Landing on the roof of a bottling plant owned by a energy drink company. Given how friggin weird Gotham is, you could be here for any number of reasons.

You and Artemis head inside via a window left open for you and come upon a waiting Robin, and a very busy Batgirl. Robin is entering something onto his wrist computer while looking downright pensive while Batgirl types away furiously on a labtop connected to what looks like some chemistry equipment lent by the Bat himself.

Robin perks up when the two of you walk in though. "Good, you're here, we can get started."

Artemis hangs her bow on her shoulder and has a seat next to Batgirl, who keeps working without stopping for a moment. "Started on what exactly? You both do realize that there's an actual monster on the loose right?"

"Monsters." He corrects her.

It only takes Artemis a moment to catch up. "No."

"I'm afraid so." Robin musses up his hair in frustration before bringing up a holographic display on his gauntlet. "Our target is Kirk Langstrom. Also known as Man-Bat. He's a brilliant Zoologist that developed a bit of a fascination with Batman and in trying to give himself metahuman abilities, transformed himself into what you saw."

"Gotham is such a lovely place." You reiterate.

"And tonight, he's not the only Man-Bat. For some reason, he's spread the serum that transforms him amongst the drinks in the bottling plant." Robin looks up at you, as serious as you've ever seen him. "Were dealing with over six dozen of them. And if Batgirl can't find a anti-serum in time to reverse the process? They may be stuck as mindless monsters for the rest of their lives."

Holy shit! This quest is back? This is gonna be a gas.
>>
I'll miss the other quest but at least we can avoid the future of tying ourselves to worst girl now.
>>
Nice to see that this quest is back in action.
>>
>>2153277
Not an Artemis fan? It seemed like every last one of my regular players was gunning for her.

Just curious anons, who would you like to see win the Morgan-bowl?

Girls yet to be introduced count.
>>
>>2153414
Anons are desperate neckbeards, of coarse they go for the first girl dangled in front of them.

Probably power girl or livewire if we're dipping into the villain pool
>>
>>2153481
>Powergirl
The big leagues eh? I respect that.

>Livewire
I was gonna say literally who for a second there. Talk about underutilized.

I'd discuss my favorite DC girls but I feel like it's in my best interest not to disclose that until a girl has been chosen.
>>
>>2153484
while said anon likes his power girl i prefer supergirl

but i respect that he enjoys them superior kyriptoinan genes
>>
>>2153497
I mean, they are the same person anon. But I know what you mean.

I think Livewire is the most unusual pick I've seen thus far. I even remember one anon talking about wanting to meet Killer Frost. I also remember a lot of you guys specifically wanting to stay away from Raven. For obvious reasons.
>>
>>2153519
>I also remember a lot of you guys specifically wanting to stay away from Raven. For obvious reasons.
its been done one too many times
>>
>>2153519
Tired of Raven. But i would go for blackbat (Cassandra) or Miss Martian (M'gann)
>>
>>2153585
Cass has gotta bit of a following. I'm not super familiar with her since my first real taste of the character Batman & Robin Eternal. I've been meaning to go over No Man's Land for forever but just never got around to it.

And I suppose now is a good time to say that I didn't forget about Megan.
>>
Super girl is cool to, i'd be down for that.
From what little i've seen, power girl seems great like super girl but with a little more ... angst i guess.
Like supergirl saves you but you can save powergirl if that makes sense.

Ravens great to but it feels like we're gonna get a quest with her as the waifu that actually ends eventually.
>>
>>2153531
Can't really argue with that.
I mean, Raven seems to hit a lot of points for a lot of Anons, but when most of the quests with her in it have her be the love interest, it just gets really stale.
We need to broaden ourselves here if we are to keep having DC/Teen Titans quests.
Maybe a Cassandra Cain or Stephanie Brown, maybe a Rose Wilson or Miss Martian, maybe even go the villain love interest route, provided she's not outright unredeemable.
Perhaps even go full AU and de-age a bunch of characters somewhat, since these quests always seem to have a teen protagonist.
A teen Justice League would be hilarious in one of these quests (Granted it's too late for that in this particular Questverse.) just small countrytown bro supes, teen angst batman, ect.
>>
>>2153277
how rude. Artemis is pretty sweet.
>>
>>2153703
I always saw Powergirl as a mature Supergirl with an extra helping of aggressiveness. As for Raven, I remember Teen Titans Quest was going for her. I honestly didn't follow it too closely because it wasn't my cup of tea.

Anyone know what happened to that quest?

>>2153708
Stephanie, Cass and Megan? If I'm being honest you'll be somewhat older than Steph when her time comes. Maybe she'll be into that?

And the idea of a villain girlfriend seems to be gaining a little ground. And that's cool. And possible, of course. Don't even come at me with Harley though.

And your talk of going full AU reminds me of when I was doing the draft for the state of the universe of this quest. I was considering going full on Earth 2. Since I was in love with the comics at the time. But I decided against it since it would be constraining in the things players could interact with. But the idea being best bros with country boy teen Supes just puts a smile on my face. Stuff to think about.

>>2153734
She's a good girl. She dindu nuffin.
>>
Okay Anons. How concerned should we be about the League of Shadows and Ra's Al Ghul, because I'm pretty sure he'd try to recruit/brainwash us.

I mean just look at Ghost's powers and tell me he wouldn't make for an ideal infiltrator/assassin!

>Maybe she'll be into that?
Didn't she have a crush on a young detective that Gordon was trying to set up for Barbara during Steph's stint as batgirl with Gordon finding their mutual attraction unsettling because she's a teenager?
I mean, it really doesn't matter, the multiverse nature of DC allows for a lot of leeway for any QM interested, without causing extreme backlash from fans of the source, provided they at least stay true to the intentions of the characters and backstories they are fiddling with.
>Don't even come at me with Harley though.
Wasn't planning on it, I'm not really a fan of her as a romantic partner. Though I'm now reminded of that Teen Titans quest with the big dick gravity powers MC where players actually went for her, don't recall if that was permanent or a fooling around thing.

>And your talk of going full AU reminds me of when I was doing the draft for the state of the universe of this quest.
>But the idea being best bros with country boy teen Supes just puts a smile on my face. Stuff to think about.
It's really a thing I want to see done in one of these quests: normally QMs always have to fall back on sidekicks or low renown upstard heroes and villains for characters, maybe get a big name for a climactic boss battle, because the top dogs are seasoned vets that been in so much world shattering shit that they feel completely unreachable for a startup hero to talk to and do stuff with on equal grounds, so there's little use of Batman proper, beyond him telling you what to do and players fellating him because he's the Bat, Superman's the same, though you know he'd try, but he's got responsibilities and you can't not seem him as the man of steel, it's the same for the rest of the League, and their villainous counterparts suffer from the same, with them already having a huge rep and the powercreep muddling things up on a meta level, I believe this is why Teen Titans and young justice characters are used extensively in these things, these are really the only few the players and the MC can come to see as equals.

A DC AU that just tells the players to forget all about the big events, to forget about convoluted continuities, backstories and relationships and distill it all down to the bare essentials of a character, and then running a quest in it would be great; come in with a fresh mind, our Superman's just a Kryptonian teen from Smallville, Kansas.
A different take on these quests where the big names are just starting out themselves, so yeah, the players could hang out with Clark Kent, drink some sodas, throw around the old pigskin and just shoot the shit about what it means to have powers and how best to use them without any preconceptions.
Kinda like pic related, only not THAT young and childish and still based on actual crime fighting and heroics, though a Secret Hero Society quest with more heroes than those three and flash, and villains beyond Batman's gallery would be kind of comfy too.

Jesus, why would a QM run something like that plus outright state and give a in-game reason for MC's schlong size? This is some Akun tier shit right here
>>
>>2154087
Presumably to avoid conflict between entrenched harleyfags and ravenfags. Although excessive lusting after mc dick was a recurring annoyance. I wouldn’t judge the QM too harshly, though. Different strokes for different folks.
>>
>>2154054
>crush on a young detective
I don't recall. Only ever seen her crushing on Tim.

All the things you said about having a flatline universe really took me back to my first ideas for this. My very first draft was actually going to begin with the death of Superman. And the source of your powers (whatever you picked) would be the result of experimentation by someone trying to create a new ultra powerful protector of Earth. But then I thought that doing stuff like that with Super just feels so trite by now. Obviously, I decided to go with a sort of baseline universe where one could encounter and do pretty much anything.

>>2154077
>Waifu situation was ménage a trois with Raven and Harley.

Now, I'm not saying I don't like it.
But I don't like it.
>>
>>2154340
If we're all still talking about waifs, then Cass is a surefire yes from me. Always liked her. Artemis is ok tier, if it happens it happens.

Is Barbara still Batgirl ATM?

Its funny cause the QM for the gravity powers teen titan quest said the same thing.
Wouldn't have even happened if we didn't have crazy rolls for impressing the shit out of her.

Cass is cool and cute so that's a double hitter. And she's the fucking strong.

If you like murderers. But she is pretty lovey dovey with Roy, when that's a thing. Now that I put it like that, she's probably the closest thing you're gonna get to functional yandere in DC.

Her sister it is
>>
See how shit goes.
I think we are hitting it off with artemis pretty solid, so i would be happy to see how that would pan out. I dont really care about the relationship aspect of this quest quite so much as seeing the MC's story.
Seen too many quests drown in shite romance plots.

>Sold!
I shoulda kept my mouth shut.

>>2155521
>Seen too many quests drown in shite romance plots.

I feel you on that. One of my main goals when that sort of relationship materializes, is for it to not take center stage all the time and just become what the quest is about. It should be a part of Morgan's story. Not the point of it.
>>
>>2155545
I do quite like how shinigami quest handles it.
their character is basically married with kids and the whole thing is mainly allusions and the occasional moment. It adds without detracting, which is probably why I consider it one of the only quests to do romance well, let alone yuri.

Silence reigns supreme in the smallish room after Robin is through making his proclamation of doom. The only thing that keeps it from being as silent as a graveyard is Batgirl's never ending typing. She hasn't even glanced up from her keyboard since you and Blondie got here. Robin is as grim as you've ever seen him, for a moment, you think he actually looks like someone who fights alongside Batman now. But you'll keep that to yourself. And Artemis looks like she just received a gutpunch.

Looks like you'll have to be the first one to pipe up. "So let me make sure I have this right. Local man turns himself into a bat monster. Decides to share. And he did it by putting his serum in..." You turn and look at the nearest shipping box for reference. "Orange Fanta?"

"It might sound a little ridiculous but the consequences are very real if we fail." You're a little surprised. He's always willing to crack a joke or two with you but this one has got him all business.

You're blonde friend makes herself more comfortable next to Batgirl. And rips open a medical pack from her belt to apply to her side. Looks like she got burned. How did you not notice that? After she hisses through the pain she asks her own question. "So where's Batman in all of this. You can't tell me he left of with a problem this big."

Robin shakes his head. "He's out there in the Batwing subduing as many of them as possible while we look for an anti-agent. He didn't leave us alone. The opposite really. He's trusting us with the most important part of this."

And here you thought that someone who fought crime dressed as a bat would have trust issues. "Shit. Whatever. It ain't like I was gonna sit around and let flying monster run amok. What's the plan?"

>Continued
>>
>>2160618
Robin brings up his holo display once more. "Our objectives are three-fold. First and foremost. Create an anti agent. Then, track down all contaminated soda bottles. And finally, capture Man-Bat. We're going to have to split up if were going to be effective here."

Sounds doable. "Oh, that's all? Well, we better get crackin'. We got a last known on Man-Bat?"

"He was keeping to large abandoned structures for a long time but our scanners indicate he's making his way to Wayne Tower. No doubt we can at least follow a trail from there. I'll be pursuing him. We've fought before and I know all of his quirks."

Artemis stands, patched up and ready for action. "And the contaminated bottles?"

"We can track those easily, it's just that recovering all of them that will be the tricky part. There's still dozens upon dozens of them in Gotham, and that's after the hundreds that Batman kept from being shipped out. Those need to be recovered quickly, still sealed."

"I'll get on recovery, I can move fast and my ride can store quite a bit before I have to come back to unload." Artemis decides on her roll quickly, and Robin doesn't object.

"Of course that leaves creating the anti-agent. Batgirl, status?... Batgirl?"

"Huh?" Batgirl looks up, green eyes shining but sharp. "Status? I'm close, very close. There's just something I'm not seeing here. But I'll find it. There's too much at stake not to." And with that, she get's back to typing.

Robin just nods and leaves her to her work. "That leaves you, Ghost. You'd be a big help with apprehending Man-Bat or recovering those bottles. Or you could also stay here and ensure nothing goes wrong while Batgirl is here alone." He stops for a moment. "Actually, don't you have a background in science? Maybe you can help Batgirl."

Decisions, decisions.

>"I'm thinkin' I'd best help you with the big Bat. Even if you know what kinda fight you're walking into, it couldn't hurt to have some more muscle right?"
>"'I'll go with Artemis, having an extra pair of eyes and hands will make that go a lot faster."
>"Think I will stay here actually. If we put our heads together, maybe we'll worm our way outta this without any extra bats flying around Gotham."
>>
>>2160621
Well we're the nerd, right? How good's our knowledge of the subject? Might be worthwhile helping Batgirl.
If we're not confident about our brainpower we could team up with Robin to ease his job.

Much as I like Artemis, it seems we're least of an added value in her task.
>>
>>2160621
>"Think I will stay here actually. If we put our heads together, maybe we'll worm our way outta this without any extra bats flying around Gotham."

This is all for naught if we dont get a cure, even if the others fail in their tasks this is the primary goal.
>>

>Writing

"Y'know what? You're right. I'll stay here with Batgirl, if we rub our braincells together, I'm sure we can worm our way outta this."

"Robin simply nods as he makes for the airvent that they obviously came in through. "Keep in touch on comms. Tonight is already bad. But it can get much worse if we don't succeed." And with that, he's gone.

Artemis slaps a hand on your shoulder as she walks by, and you two exchange nothing more than a thumbs up and a nod as she goes back out into a night of monsters and supervillains. Just another day right? You plop down next to Batgril and slip your facemask down. It feels odd wearing this thing when you're talking with people you already know.

"So, show me what you've got."

She spares a second to glance at you, an appraising look no doubt, you've seen it before. "You're in the applied sciences program right? How's your chemistry?"

"Acing it so far. I can keep up, if that's what you mean."

"No. I- ugh. It's just that it's so much and I rely on my memory to help me get through it all."

"And that helps because..."

"Sorry. Eidetic memory. My brain just kinda, stores everything I ever take in." There's a momentary pause in her typing. "I'm starting to feel like I'm using it as a crutch."

"Please. I wish that came standard in all vigilante packages. Sounds useful as hell."

"You're not wrong, but you don't need a brain like a computer to save the day." She finally stops typing. "Actually! That gives me an idea, your goggles have similar tech to Batman's cowl and Robin's domino mask."

You have no idea where she's going with this. "And?"

"And." She continues, big grin on her face. "I could feed all of my findings through them so you could sift through the data with me and maybe we'll strike gold."

"I see zero reasons not to try it." Looking like a kid in a candy stone, Batgirl hooks up her laptop to your goggles via length of cord plugged into a small port along the rim and gets to work. Alright. Lets see if Mom was right about you.

When the direct feed starts up you feel like you're gonna puke or have a seizure for a moment but soon it all calms down and you achieve a little bit of clarity. Barbara must be damn good with computers cause you can't imagine putting all of this together in a mater of hours. Hell, she might've had even less time. And it's all here too. The exact chemical makeup of the serum and a few variants he's created.

Hmm, look like he was trying to make something more potent. Bigger stronger monster? Longer transformation maybe? But the difference between this new serum and the old is that the transformation could become permanent. So what're you missing here? Batgirl's typing soon becomes soothing background noise for you as you begin to lose yourself in the small ocean of information.

Reassurance that the world around you hasn't fallen away or wasn't overtaken by bat monsters. There's so much here. And all of it works towards warping and twisting the body into some sort of horror flick beast. Why can't there be more geniuses that use that brain power for something good. You'd rather Langstrom become obsessed with curing cancer than becoming a fucking- hold on. There it is!

"Wait!"

Batgirl's fingers freeze and you take a moment to release a breath you didn't realize you were holding. "There. Right there. It's the only difference in the makeup but there it is. A radioactive isotope. And it's what's causing the degradation. Makin' this freakshow permanent."

She runs the numbers on her computer as soon as you're done and practically shouts eureka when she gets a match. "We did it! You, did it!"

"No time for a victory dance, what's next?"

"We need to synthesize an anti-agent, and sending this much data wirelessly will take way too long. C'mon, time for a field trip." She hops up and races out of the building and you follow her down to a nearby alley. Pressing a button on her belt, the sound of an engine revving up fills the alleyway and the lights of her bike shine bright, even through the lenses of your goggles.

"I know you're fast, but trust me. She's faster. Hop on."

>"How come I feel like I'm the only vigilante in Gotham without his own bike?"
>"What about Robin and Artemis? We could still catch up with em."
>"Where are we going? And please don't say STAR labs."

Morgan asks the important questions.

>Writing

>>2160834
You do as the lady says and jump on the back, grabbing hold of her shoulders for stability. And as soon as your secure she takes off like a flying rodent from a realm of eternal punishment. This thing is pushing 70 in like 4 seconds. Good god. You could see Batman being arrested for child endangerment rather than like, a thousand counts of B&E or assault. It'd be like the AL Capone thing. Gotta pay your taxes.

"Wait a second. where in the hell did a zoologist mix a radioactive isotope?" For a moment, the only sound between the two of you is the roar of the engine.

"Well, there's only three places that come to mind. One of them is out of the question. And the other would be incredibly difficult, given that he's been a wanted criminal for a couple years already. So, by process of elimination, ACE Chemicals."

"I've heard about that place. They shut down for a year after Batman first started showing up in the news. Apparently somethin' went down there. And it probably wasn't good."

"It wasn't." Is all she says to that. Okay. That wasn't cryptic at all. "We should investigate there. Maybe Langstrom had someone on the inside make the serum for him. But right now. The anti-agent is more important."

"You'll get no argument from me on that. But where are we going?"

"A dark cave." She answers.

"I see."

-----

"Okay, you can take it off now." Resisting the incredibly childish urge to whisper, that's what she said. You pull off the blindfold that Batgirl insisted on you wearing and what you see? Well. It's certainly a dark cave. It's a dark cave, with lighting that puts filming studios to shame, a garage full of very illegal vehicles, what you hope is a fake t-rex, what appears to be a giant penny, and the biggest damn computer you've ever seen.

"Welcome to the Batcave." She says, waving an arm to the whole scene.

Stunned you just stare as she leads you through multiple stairways. "Y'know, somehow 'holy shit' doesn't quite do it."

>Continued
>>
>>2160936
As you climb one last set of stairs, that beast of a computer you saw earlier comes into view and Batgirl plops in the chair in front of it as if sure were at her own house. "This, is the Batcomputer. One of if not the most powerful computer on earth as far as I know. It can deal with all this data quickly and get to work on synthesizing an anti-agent."

"Can I help?"

Batgirl actually looks sheepish for the first time since you've known her. "Sorry but, no. The Batcomputer will reject you unless you're already in the system and I don't have that kind of access."

Seriously? "Then what am I here to do? Watch?"

"No." The rough voice makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand at attention. You didn't feel him there at all. You slowly turn to see Batman looming over you. Cape draped over his shoulders making him look like a living shadow. "You're here to learn."

Before you can make a sarcastic remark or piss yourself the Batcomputer practically shouts SYNTHESIZING, and out pops dozens of vials of blue liquid from the computer's console. "Grey Ghost, you're with me. Batgirl. Link up with Artemis and give her the anti-agent. This isn't over yet." She just nods and swipes some vials before running off to her bike.

And of course, when you look back, Batman is walking away. "Take as many vials as you can fit onto your belt and follow me." He's really leaving no room to do otherwise. Once you catch up he starts talking at you again. "During my round-up of transformed civilians they all suddenly dropped whatever the were doing and headed straight for ACE Chemicals."

"I knew it! Batgirl figured that must've been where he was mixing the serum."

"That's not all." He stops in the huge garage and turns to face you. "Robin has been captured."

What? "But he- He said he had the guys number> That he knew everything that he could throw at him! How?"

"That doesn't matter right now. What does matter, is getting that anti-agent to those people and pulling Robin out successfully. Understood?"

>"Yeah, fine, whatever. Let's just get moving."
>"You do know that one of these guys has Mister Freeze right?"
>"Don't you care? Robin is your partner and you're actin like this is just another day at the office."
>"How did you let this guy get this far anyways? Do you ever stop this shit before it happens?"
>"What's with the blindfold huh? You'll work with me but you won't trust me?"

You can think of a few choice things to say to Mr.Dark-Knight over here but time isn't on your side tonight. So fuck it. "Yeah, fine, whatever. Let's just get moving."

You walk past him and climb into the open and waiting passenger seat in the vehicle and after a moment he jumps into the cockpit. Then you fire up comms. "You do know one of these things has Mister Freeze right?"

"He'll turn up. Focus on the task hand. There's more work to be done yet if we make it through this night." Not another word is exchanged between the two of you as he takes off for ACE Chemicals. The flight is smooth as hell though. Just like the Batmobile. Not that you expected any less. IN what barely feels like minutes you're overhead the chemicals facility Batman's voice comes over comms again. "There are too many to land directly, well have to do a jump and grapple to the building. Are you ready."

"As I'll ever be."

":Launching now."

The seat under you shifts positions in an instant and launches you upwards as soon as the cockpit shield slides back. And for just a second, you''re flying. The you slow down disperse your body to make the grappling and landing easy on you. You wonder sometimes if you'll ever be able to really fly, not just float along in the air. And the view on the way down. It really is like some horror flick. Bat-like monsters circling the plant. It's raining tonight because of course it is. Their incessant screeches and the patter of the rain fill up the night.

As soon as you both land, Batman jumps over the nearby railing and hails you over the comms. "Your part is simple. Administer the anti-agent to as many of the afflicted as you can. And do everything you can to rescue Robin. Batman out."

Yeah, okay Bats. I can handle this. But as as you spare a glance into the swarm of Bat-men, you aren't so sure.

With the impromptu landing out of the way you stare into the swarm. Bat-Men, as you've taken to calling them in your head. People afflicted by a mutagenic serum that Langstrom infected random people with. Huh, y'know what? They can't all be men. So Bat-Men is kind of stupid. But then again, what're you gonna call them? Bat-Them? No, that's even worse.

You feel yourself sink into the darkness afforded by the night once you manage to tear your eyes away from the flight of monsters. Skulking around is becoming second nature to you. You guess with powers like yours it's only natural, they are a part of you. And now that you have a moment to think you realize you've got a decision to make. You can't be everywhere at once. And while Batman is here he's got his hands full. And Artemis and Batgirl are rounding up the contaminated bottles and any Bat-Men they find.

And after his attitude, you have to wonder just how important saving Robin is to Batman. You could just do what he says. Focus on getting the anti-agent to these people. Or, you could get in there and save your buddy from the real threat. Ugh. It's not like you really think Batman would just leave him there to die but, what if he's too busy dealing everything else? How does this guy get anything done with all these nutjobs running around?

Pressing yourself against the wall as a group of monsters fly a little to close for comfort, you realize it's only a matter of time until they notice you and you're fighting the swarm whether you want to or not. C'mon Barret, makeup your mind.

As much as you wanna help him out. You just can't see Batman hangin' him out to dry. Despite your suspicions. So you'll do your job. Play your part. And de-monsterfy these folks. It's an important job. So it's time to get to work. Halfway dispersing, your feet leave the ground as your body becomes lighter, and quick as quiet as can be, you leap onto a passing Man-Bat and get to work.

Now, the experience of hanging on to a mutated Bat-Person in the middle of a Gotham rainstorm can't be understated. The wind and rain is mostly mitigated by your mask and goggles but you're still getting soaked to the bone. And the wriggling and screeching of the creature beneath you isn't helping. You pull a blue vial off of your belt and plunge the short needles on the mouth of it into the creatures neck.

Immediately, they slow and even go limp in mid-air as their body convulses and twists. Changing back before your eyes. And then you realize that you're both going down and grapnel back to a rooftop. They're half naked and pale. But the middle aged man that the monster just morpehd back into is fine. Realizing his condition will only worsen if you leave him out here, you move him to a warm inner area of ACE chemicals quickly before you get back outside.

It's cliche as hell. But it's so true. It's going to be a long night.

----

You don't know how long you've been out here, but the swarm has dwindled considerably. And your process, although slow. Has been proven in how little you've had to actually fight these guys. You've been picking them off like some sort of predator, tucking them away for later when your'e done. But it looks like whatever luck you've been sitting on has run out.

After leaving behind civilian 52, you're met by the animalistic face of one of the creatures as you try to make your way back outside. He screeches and in one moment your ears ring and a couple of clawed hands rip you outside into the night. Your training kicks in and you tuck and roll on the wet concrete, ready for action in a moment.

You're surrounded, multiple Bat-Men, 4 by your count. Seems like they finally caught on. And they're circling you, membranous wings dragging across the floor, looking downright ferocious. This hiss and claw at the air around you at random. Sometimes they let out tiny screeches that you barely pick up on. Echolocation. Your goggles are flashing red around the edges of your vision. You're in trouble, you already know that much. Good thing you know how to fight.

In a flash, the Bat-Men are on you. The leader of this particular pack leaps at you while another approaches from behind. Falling back on your on your back side you harden your legs and launch the incoming monster into the second one behind you, the yell and screech as they collide and you roll back onto your feet as the third attack from the air!

Flapping it's huge wings it leaps up in the air and attempts to wrap it's hand like feet around your shoulders. Anticipating the attack you disperse and allow the claws to pass through you and respond with a gutpunch. The bat monster flops onto the ground and you jam a vial into their neck before ducking under the quick wing swung at you like a clothesline.

You respond with a quick one-two jab and an uppercut into the third Bat's jaw, sending a jagged tooth twirling through the air. You wince. Aw geez, you don't mean to actually hurt these folks but you're not about to let em knock your block off. Ducking under yet another claw swipe after he regains his composure you stick him with a vial and he goes down. Two down. halfway there.

The first two decide against trying to double team you again and the first one screeches big and loud before crouching low and launching himself off of the ground into a full tackle. You barely register his speed in time and disperse, he passes through you and disrputs so much of your body it takes a second to come back in time to react to his swing when he does a U-turn mid air. Throwing a punch you fist launches ahead of your smoky body and collides with the leader Bat's face.

He crumples on the ground and you feel a twinge of guilt as he rolls to a stop at your feet. Quickly ducking down, you stick him with a vial and turn to face the final Bat.

But he's gone, looking up your goggles alerts you to the creature very quickly getting farther and farther away. Shit! Who knows what'll happen if he runs off? You swipe your grapnel from your holster and take aim...

The whistle of your grapnels tiny engine shoots through your ears as you silently pray for your line to connect, your view in your goggles zooms in and even then it's too far out. And by the grace of some dark god you hit! And then your wire becomes taught and yank you off the roof in an instant. What comes out of your mouth next can only be described as a girlish shriek. Not that you'll tell anyone.

Dispersing your body halfway you depress the alternate trigger on the grapnel and try not to scream again as it rapidly pull you through the air towards the frantically flapping monster. You collide in seconds, wrapping a hardened arm around his neck as you attempt to subdue him mid air, the vial nearly being slapped out of your hand multiple times by his wings. When you finally stick him you grin in satisfaction only look up and feel that same feeling practically fly away from you in a split second as you and the creature crash through a window into one of the ground level ACE buildings.

Okay. Okay. Not your finest moment. You stand up slowly, brushing off the glass pieces that failed to pierce the weave of your suit. The Bat-Guy beneath you starts convulsing like the ones before him. When he's done thrashing, you see a guy laying on the floor in ripped jeans and nothing else. He's your age, no older than you really. Somehow, it hits you while looking at him. This coulda been you.

Like, not metaphorically, literally. Any old bottle of soda could've left you like this. And with you bein' a metahuman and all, who knows how you woulda reacted. Scooping up the teen, you head for the room full of cured civilians. Heh, they're gonna be real confused when they come to.

----

One last glance at your room full of patients gives you the peace of mind to continue. Grappling upwards, your plan is to get a birds eye view of the place and find Batman. Since he'll be where the action is. And you don't have to look hard. You're met with a familiar scene of ice sheets and spikes spread all over. Mister Freeze is alive and well it seems. You fly in high up and catch a scene of Man-Bat himself trying to take down Robin, he looks worse for wear, but he's still giving it all he's got. Putting those acrobatic roots to use.

And Batman is all tied up with Freeze. Flipping this way and that to avoid instant frostbite.

>Come in hot and nail Man-Bat, Robin can't avoid him forever.
>Take your time and creep up on him. He won't know what hit him.

Hailing Robin on comms takes one push of a button. "Ghost? You wouldn't happened to have brought your utility belt with the bat-repellent, did you?"

Pssh, of course he lightens up when he almost gets offed by a supervillain. "Nah, I left that one at home. But I got the next best thing."

"Instant knockout ray? A giant mutant owl? Superman?" Okay, he really must be having fun.

"Nope, but I got two fists and need to put the hurt on a mad-scientist." You're almost in range.

"Then... " He backflips over a low sweep of Man-Bat's wing. "Routine 46?"

"Routine 46."

Now! You grapnel to the wall opposite Man-Bat and he psies it just as you hit the apex of your last jump and begin your rapid descent.

Using your own momentum and the pull of the grapnel combined with your considerably light weight you pull yourself down towards Man-Bat at high speeds. While he prepares to spread his wings for flight. Robin jams his fighting sticks together and forms a staff, whipping it under Man-Bat, he uses leverage to sweep him off his feet and leave him hanging in the air for just the right moment.

Putting your feet together, you harden your legs, become a human pile driver and slam into Man-Bat, crashing through the floor of the room. You can hear Robin cry out but you're more than a little busy right now. Man-Bat grasps your leg good and tight but can only swuint in confusion as you disperse mid-fall and wave goodbye as he falls down to the factory floor down below.

Your grapnel hits the edge of the hole you made and you fly back up through in no time. Robin stands waiting for you. Leaning on his staff. "Now that, that is a how a Titan does it."

"You know it."

But your victory is short lived. The only warning you get is the sound of beating wings as Man-Bat blasts of the hole you both left and releases an ungodly screech! Robin struggles next to you and tries his best to cover his ears but you, you fall to your knees. Your body dispersing against your will. And you though electricity coursing through your body was painful. You didn't know you could feel pain like this.

Finally, Man-Bat stops for a breath and Robin immediately springs into action, tossing several of his exploding throwing discs. You've gotta get back in their, Man-Bat is taking a beating but that screech really took it out of you.

While Robin keeps Man-Bat at bay with his flying Rs you hail him on comms and practically whisper. "Hey, that screech shit he did really did a number on me. You got any bright ideas because I'll be livin' up to my name if I take another hit like that."

As he throws his final disc he pole-vaults over Man-Bat's claws and sticks something to his back, which then explodes in a sticky pinkish substance before he can rip it off. "Just one, you have any more anti-agent with you?"

Your eyes go wide when you realize what he's up to and you frantically pat yourself down for vials. Your fingers touch the glass of one last vial. The blue liquid is so brightly colored it might as well be glowing. "One more. Damn, why didn't I think of this sooner! This is made for the new serum he used on his victims but the inclusion of the radioactive isotope means it should at the very least disrupt his mutation, if not outright cure it."

"Wow." Robin kicks off of Man-Bat's chest and lands near you, offering you one end of his staff to heave yourself up with. "I forget you get all nerdy like that."

"Shuddup man, we got a bat to take down. So, maneuver 7?" Langstrom lands in front of you both, eyeing you both. His intelligence is clearly still intact. He's waiting to see what you're up to.

"We haven't even practiced that one yet. and besides that's a maneuver for the whole Teen Titans." Man-Bat sniffs at the air. Looks like the rain is letting up.

"I don't see why it can't work with two people, besides, it's basically one big pincer attack. We're doing maneuver 7" Langstrom growls.

"Can't we at least-"

Langstrom leaps! "Nope!"

Langstrom dives between you and Robin, his gnashing teeth catching nothing but air. He whips around just as your both converging on him. With one flap of his huge wings, he takes off, cautious of what you have planned. He should be. In sync, both of your grapnels fire and puncture his wings membranes and yank him down to the ground. abandoning your grapnel, you both dash for him.

In a last ditch effort, he opens his gullet big and wide, your about to skid to a stop when Robin splits his staff in two and tosses one of his fight sticks right into his mouth! The mad-scientist sputters and coughs, leaving you plenty of time to prepare the vial and leap. Robin, depresses the alt trigger on his grapnel and slides forward on the slick ground of the roof and builds up his momentum before delivering one of the most solid kicks you've ever seen to his solar plexus.

Robin's fight stick goes clattering to the ground, slathered in drool. And you slam the vial needle first into the doc's neck! Both you and Robin are breathing ragged after that move but Langstrom is finally out. Like a light. And that's not all, his feature bubble and contort, like his victims but just so much more... violent. He shakes on the ground in front of you both and twists and changes until there's no longer a Man-Bat. But a frail looking man in his forties to fifties.

"Huh." Is all you can manage.

"What? You expecting a 6 ft 7 russian cagefighter?" Robin playfully pokes you in the side with one of his sticks.

"Nothing so specific, man. I'm just sayin' he doesn't look like a mad scientist. He just looks tired."

"I can relate." Leaning on his staff again. Robin, cradles his side. And now you see just how bad he had it. Claw mark run down his ribs and his back. And you don't look too much better. All kinds of little rips in your costume, soaked to the bone. And your ears are still ringing. It was a long night. And a loud pop nearby reminds you that it's not over.

>Continued

>>2166946
Grappling over to where Batman and Freeze are doesn't take a second but you're distracted by the damage that Freeze caused. All this ice is gonna disrupt ACE chemicals for a while. And that pop you hear earlier. Looks like it was the sound of Freeze's dome losing it's airtight seal. The sight of Batman standing over someone like that, batarang shoved inside his helmet, and just scowling like he's only been mildly inconvenienced reminds you of why he's in the Justice League.

"Batman, you don't understand- He- he-" Freeze sputters more every second his suit breach is open.

"Thank talk, Fries. Make me understand why you put civilians in danger tonight and attacked me and my partner. Now!" He twists the batarang ever so slightly and Freeze panics.

"He has Nora. Batman. He has Nora."

"Who, Victor. Who has her?"

"That fool Killer Moth. I have- no doubt he has transported her into the clutches of Black Mask by now." He tries to say more but his coughing and wheezing only get worse. To your surprise. Batman leans down and applies some kind of sticky material to his breach and it seals itself when he yanks out the batarang.

"I'll find her Victor. But for now, I'm turning you over to the GCPD." Batman restrains him and begins helping him down to the ground level. He's probably going for a ride in the batmobile.

"Who's Nora?" You turn to Robin, who can only sigh.

"His wife. This just got more complicated."

>"Wait, his wife was kidnapped?! So he goes on a rampage? What the hell man?"
>"Killer Moth? Damn, if he got an upgrade too this could be a problem."
