Last time on Saiyan Conqueror Quest:
Karn gathered his A-team, and they all trained extensively for the four-month leadup to the final first contact with the Covenant. After an extensive battle, Karn was mortally wounded and Ubo was beaten down by the leader of their forces on the planet, a Sangheili. Vegeta, upon seeing you seemingly killed, finally unleashed his hidden power and transformed into a Super Saiyan, crushing their commander. You’ve just woken up from the Healing Pod, Meloka clinging to you after you’d dressed and exited your ship. Now, the battle continues, as a massive Covenant ship has just entered the atmosphere.

“When did that get here?!” Meloka asks, you feel her tensing up behind you. Before you can reply, Meloka’s scouter lights up and you hear Nappa’s voice;
“Meloka? Please tell me he’s up.”
“He’s ready.” Meloka replies, you thinking to both Nappa and Meloka to keep everyone updated:
“What’s going on?”
“We’re fucked!” Nappa thinks back frustrated. “Almost everyone’s still down from the last fight, those that are still up aren’t in any shape to handle that!”

From the way he said that, you know he means the ship that just broke atmosphere.

“I’m gonna do my best to rally the troops, but I need time.” he continues. “As much as you two can get me.”
“We’ve got this, you focus on rallying everyone.” you reply, popping your neck and knuckles. “And don’t bother with Vegeta, unfortunately he’ll be down for a few days.”
“Damn. Fine, I’ll try and whip these lazy bastards into shape.” Nappa thinks back, ending the communication.

“How’re we gonna buy time from that?” Meloka asks you, gesturing up to the Covenant ship, headed towards their fortress on this planet. “You can sense them too, those three extraordinarily high powers. What’re we gonna do?”

“Do?” you say, smirking. “What we’re gonna do, is fly up to that ship, kick down the doors and slaughter them all inside.”
“Sounds good to me.” Meloka says, flaring her aura up. You do the same, then you both take off, racing towards the ship. You charge up an Energy Punch as you fly, letting it loose as you reach the ship. Your attack connects, exploding against the ship. Or so you thought. Your fist never reaches the ship, the explosion instead hits an invisible energy field covering the ship, it flashing purple as your attack connects. Your attack explodes harmlessly off of the shield leaving you confused.

“I got it!” Meloka says, hot on your heels with her Energy Blade drawn. She slashes against the shield, but to no avail. It seems the ship’s barrier is more than these attacks can handle. Before you can prepare another attack, mounted turrets along the ship turn towards you both, unleashing a hellstorm of blasts towards you both. You’re forced to leap away, dashing and dodging through the air to avoid the blasts, unable to gauge their power. This works for a few moments, until a team of their Grunts appear wielding odd spiky weapons.

“Fire men! Take them out!” one of them shouts in their odd high-pitched voice, a hail of pink crystals swarming towards both you and Meloka. With all this firepower in the air, you can’t dodge forever. Meloka is soon hit in the back by one of the turrets, knocking her from the air.

“Meloka!” you shout, turning to her distracted. This moment of losing focus costs you dearly. Several of the pink crystals impale your left arm, the pain snapping your focus back to the grunts. But too little too late. They keep firing, more of the razor-sharp crystals fly at you, you slamming your forarms together in front of your face. And not a moment too soon, as your arms, shoulders, stomach, and legs are impaled in several dozen places, the stabbing pain excruciating. Then several of the turrets hit you at once, the force of the blast knocking you from the sky as well.

“Hooray, we did it!”
“We’re number one!”
“I call his boots!”

You hear them shouting as you fall, soon out of earshot. As you fall you look down, the crystals not destroyed in the blast shattering after a few moments, leaving needle-like bleeding holes all over your front.

“I got you.” Meloka thinks to you, catching you and gasping as she sees the state you’re in from those weapons. “Karn are you okay?!”
“I’m -nrrggg- fine.” you say, checking over yourself and seeing no permanent damage, the blasts from the turrets having nearly obliterated your chest armor and only scratching you up a bit. “Those crystal weapons are dangerous.”
“No shit.” she says, examining several of the holes they left. “They’re not wide, but they went in pretty deep. If they’d hit you in the head it could have been lethal.”
“Oh come on, you know my head’s harder than that.” you say,

You think it over for a moment, then float back down to the ground, an idea forming.
“Karn? Karn!” Meloka asks, chasing after you. “Where are you going?”
“We’re gonna kill these assholes. Together.” you say, touching down on the ground and throwing your arms wide. “Ready?”
She stares down at you for a moment, until realization strikes. She “ohs” quietly, then grins mischievously at you.
“Oh, I’m ready.”

Meloka floats down to you, her back to your chest and throws her arms wide. You both gather power into your palms, golden auras joining together as you both merge your power together. After a few moments gathering power, all four of your palms slamming together as your attack is ready.

“FINAL FLASH!!!” you both shout in unison, an unbelievably colossal beam of golden ki firing upwards. Your attack connects the Covenant ship’s shield dead-center. Its holding your attack back, but neither of you are relenting.

“HAAAAAAAAA!!” you and Meloka shout in unison, pushing even more power through. You see your attack lifting the ship, pushing it slowly back out of the atmosphere. But before it can leave the planet, its shield finally fails. Your golden beam pierces straight through the craft unhindered, the covenant vessel going up in a massive explosion. You and Meloka release the attack, dropping down to the ground and catching your breath as you watch your handiwork. The blast then the explosion destroyed most of the ship, burning chunks of the ship raining down and crashing into the planet. You focus your senses, feeling out for survivors in the wreckage.

Two of the three massive powerlevels survived, both with a few dozen of the low powerlevels around them each and on the move towards each other. There’s four other groups of just the low powerlevels, grunts probably, scattered about, none yet moving any distinct direction. And lastly theres a group of a half-dozen somewhat high powerlevels amongst about a score of the low powerlevels, you’d guess them in the low to mid hundred thousands range, moving towards the nearest group of weaklings.

“Seems quite a few of them survived.” you say to Meloka once you’be caught your breath, rising to your feet.
“We got most of them though.” Meloka says, standing as well. “And probably most of their equipment and vehicles, too. So what’s the plan, are we going hunting for them?”

“No, we can’t.” you tell her, floating up into the air. “We can’t risk letting them attack while we’re still unprepared. We need to fly past them, hold them at the open plains before the walls while Nappa readies everyone.”
“Sounds like a plan.” Meloka says, you both taking off over the scattered wreckage of the ship as you head to the fortress. As you fly over, several times they attempt to shoot at you, but they can’t seem to hit you. They can’t seem to track a target moving supersonic speeds very well, which you are just fine with. You’ve been shot enough today.

You and Meloka fly past the wreckage unscathed, touching down about a mile out from the fortress, directly between the Covenant and their former base. Focusing your senses, you track the different groups, all meeting and martching towards you. What disturbs you, however, is that as they begin to get near, one of the large powerlevels simply vanishes without a trace.

“What the hell?” Meloka says, startled. “Did you sense that?”
“Yeah.” you say, thinking. How could something that big disappear? You’d sensed the Guardian suppressing his full power before, showing you how to better hide your presence. But even he couldn’t make his power completly vanish. “Stay on guard. Its around here, somewhere.”

You both keep scanning around with both your eyes and senses, but see and feel nothing, the Covenant forces drawing closer. You finally see them, the usual grunts and the Sangheili leading them, but also another group. Hulking, brutish creatures armed with weapons with blades on them, two flank the lone Sangheili as it rises into the air and calls down to you both.

“Are you the ones responsible for destroying our ship?” it shouts, anger clearly in its voice, you sensing two powerlevels approaching you from the fortress.
“Yeah, but it seems I missed a few!” you call back, flaring your aura back up as Meloka does the same.
“Then die for your sins!” it calls out, raising its arm then dropping it in a gesture of command. “ATTACK!”

“You get the grunts, he’s mine.” you say to Meloka,launching yourself skyward and coming level with the Sangheili.
“Kill him!” it shouts, raising its rifle-like weapon as the brite bodyguards do the same with their odd weapons, firing at you. You smirk and hold your barrier up, tanking their shots with ease. They continue to fire for several seconds, then cease when they see they have no effect. Before they can react, you drop the barrier and fire a Scarrer Beam at them.

Your attack catches them off-guard, unprepared for your retaliation. Two beams each take down one of the brutes, piercing straight through their chests and killing them instantly. You only wing a third, the fourth barely dodging, the beam glancing off its shoulder armor. The Sangheili dodges as well, carving a thin line along the side of its helmet. Before they can retaliate, you fire again and again, the beams tearing the other two brutes apart while the Sangheili manages to dodge each beam. You fire three more times, it managing to avoid any direct hits yet not trying to stop you. You wonder wh-

Without thought you use your other hand and activate your Energy Blade, swinging it behind you. You feel the impact of blade on blade, a Sangheili double-bladed sword appearing from thin air, along with the other creature itself and its massive powerlevel.

“Impressive.” it says, you both straining to overpower the other. “I know you couldn’t see or sense me. How did you know I was there?”
“Lucky guess.” you say, bringing your other arm up and blocking an axe kick from the other one. Your block it, but the force drives you down a dozen feet or so through the air, you coming to a stop and facing the aliens.

“Regardless, you can’t match us both.” the sneaky one says, taking an offensive stance as the other prepares its rifle again. “Prepare to die.”

“I’ll end this now.” the rifleman says, taking aim. But before he can fire, your energy soars, causing a shockwave that knocks them both back, his shot going high and wide. They both look down at you, the rifleman trembling slightly as you stand there, transformation completed. You sigh out in relief, the transformation still rather hard on you, then look up to the two aliens, deciding what to do with them. You can feel you’re stronger than either of them now.

You draw your Energy Blade again with your right hand, and rush the Sangheili with the sword. You must seem little more than a blur to it, it barely pulling its blade up in time to block your first strike, a stab towards its throat. It deflects your blade aside, you swinging back with a backhand cut that it manages to block as well, you both straining against each other, trying to overpower each other.

“This transformation stuff isn’t a joke, you’re much stronger now.” it says as you force it back further and further, your blade getting closer towards its throat. “Now!”
You twist back and away, dodging the burst of shots from the rifleman to your right, bringing your blade up to swat aside the last shot before rushing the swordsman again.

This time, however, you use the Su Ma technique. Chopping down at the swordsman’s head, ge deflects the strike again, this time you use the momentum to twist and deliver a backhand to the base of its spine, causing it to arch back in agony as you reverse your spin, swinging your blade towards its guts. With a satisfying hiss, your blade slices clean through the creature’s middle, blood spraying everywhere as the two halves of the warrior fall from the sky.

“Uzo 'Gasovai, no!” the rifleman shouts, clenching his rifle in rage. “I’ll kill you, filthy mongrel!”

He draws his weapon and fires a dozen shots, your blade deflecting every one. The creature snarls, throwing his rifle at you, which you slice in two, the pieces sailing harmlessly past you. You see the creature draw a pair of blue orbs, which begin to glow in his hands.

“On my honor, I swear I will kill you!” it shouts, dashing straight to you with the glowing orbs. “Even if its the last thing I do!”

You raise your left arm as the creature flies at you, firing off another Scatter Beam at much closer range. Either it didn’t have time to dodge, or simply didn’t. Either way, all five beams pierce through the creature’s chest, blasting out through its back. Its eyes glaze over, you drifting to the side and turn, watching as its momentum carries it past you. It falls for several seconds before it explodes in a flash of blue light, leaving nothing behind.

Tunnip meanwhile has her Energy Blades out, spinning and slashing her way through their ranks and leaving a trail of mangled bodies behind her. Meloka, meanwhile, seems to be hanging back, left arm limp by her side as she fires Energy Waves into the grunts.

Still no sign of the Saiyan Army, but between you four, you seem to have it under control. Do you even need to ready them?

You begin focusing your power, thinking to Meloka, Tunnip and Turles.
“I’ll finish these guys off in one strike, just keep them busy for me.”
“We’ve got this, don’t worry.” Tunnip replies.
“I’ll cover you, just focus.” Turles thinks back to you, floating up from you, circling around the back of their forces and raining down a swarm of blasts on the grunts, drawing their attention towards him and away from you. Meloka meanwhile keeps firing wave after wave, the grunts trying their best to reach her. But their efforts are all for naught, you gathering the power you needed in under a minute.

“GET CLEAR!” you shout, giant ball of death held at the ready overhead. Meloka and Tunnip waste no time, leaping and dashing clear. Turles, already clear, focuses on blasting the ones that try and flee. You can hear some of their panicked shouts from where you are.

“What is that?!”
“Death is here!”
“Saaaaave me!”

“HAAAAAAAAAAA!!” you shout, tossing the bomb down towards the planet. You watch as the ball of ki consumes the grunts, their cries of panic and fear cutting off abruptly. You sigh out, pulling power from the blast and keeping it from exploding and possibly destroying the planet. You watch your attack fade as you descend, landing as your attack completely dissipates.

“Well that was fun.” Tunnip says, landing beside you with her hands behind her head.
“Not much of a challenge.” Turles says, landing beside you both. “Besides their technology, these guys are pretty weak.”
“Those damn toys pack a punch.” Meloka says, landing beside you and holding her left shoulder, pink crystals sticking out of over a dozen places in her left arm.

“Shit! Are you ok?” you ask, rushing over.
“I’mfineI’mfineI’mfinedon’ttouchit!” Meloka says, holding her other arm up and shaking it to keep you back. “Its not that dangerous, but one’s stuck in my shoulder joint.”
“Shouldn’t we try and pull it out?” you ask her, still concerned.
“Not ‘till I get in the pod.” she says, you noticing she looks a good bit paler than usual. “I’m afraid it may’ve hit something important and I’ll bleed out if I pull it.”
“Then let’s go.” you say, lifting her off the ground in a princess carry.
“Aaaah! Put me down!” Meloka says, flailing her good arm in surprise.
“Thanks for the assist guys.” you say to Turles and Tunnip, nodding to them.
“No problem.” Turles says, waving you off.
“I’ll go let Nappa know the invasion’s already over.” Tunnip says, waving to you both as the two Saiyans take off back towards the fortress.

“Now let’s get you in the Healing Pod.” you tell Meloka, kissing her forehead as you lift off of the ground, the small Saiyan woman yelping in surprise as you take off. After a minute or so of flying, you land before your ship, walking up the ramp only to come face-to-face with Sarada and Leyas.

“What’d we miss?” Sarada asks, yawning.
“Just an entire Covenant army.” you say, feeling Meloka’s energy keep declining. “Gotta get Meloka in a pod, now.”

You carry her past the siblings deeper into the ship, headed towards the Healing Pods. Your senses tell you that Ubo’s no longer in the pod, he’s now in the Gravity Chamber. You undress Meloka and put her in the newer pod, switching it on. As you turn towards the other pod, lifting the ruins of your armor over your head, your vision starts swimming and your sense of balance disappears completely.

You try your best to keep your balance, but fail. Instead of standing, you feel yourself falling to the ground, slamming the back of your head on the metal floor. Your vision dims, a ringing in your ears as your sight fades. You feel your body going numb, something’s wrong. But you can’t move, can’t see what’s happening to you. Darkness takes you again.

You come to submerged in a liquid, momentarily panicking as you have no idea where you are. After a moment, you recognize the interior of the Healing Pod, the liquid an odd pink hue. But how did you get here? Closing your eyes, you open your senses, searching for nearby ki signatures. You sense Sarada and Leyas, close by on the ship. You also sense with them Nappa, and Vegeta? You try and reach for the lever, but can’t move. Your panic rises as you realize you’re paralyzed. Why can’t you move?

Wait, the fluid! Its stained with the color of those crystals shot at you. Are they the cause? You try to move, straining with all your might, but you can’t move your body. You watch, with mixed awe and fear as the healing fluid seemingly begins crystallizing around you.

“Something’s wrong.” you think to everyone gathered, they’re all surprised you’re awake. “Something’ happening, the fluid’s crystallizing.”
“Crystallizing?” Nappa asks, dumbfounded.
“We’ll be right there.” Vegeta thinks back, you sense their powers immediately moving to you. “Did you just get up?”
“Yeah.” you reply, watching the fluid crystallizing around you as you feel your panic rising. “I can’t move.”

You see Nappa and Vegeta walk in, walking right up to your pod and peering in the window, brows furrowed.
“It’s definitely crystallizing.” Nappa says, chin resting on his finger and thumb as he thinks. “And its the same color as the Covenant’s odd crystal launchers. To be honest, you two are the only ones who’ve lived after being shot by those, everyone else who’d been hit died as the crystals exploded.”
“And why can’t I move?” you think to them, not hiding your panic as the crystals fill the pod, pressing against you on all sides. You see Ubo walk in, lumbering up to you, curious. The color drains from his face, turning and grabbing Nappa, lifting him into the air and shouting.

“Karn out now!” he shouts, clearly panicking. “Out death rock now!”
“What?!” Vegeta shouts, rushing to the control panel and throwing the pod’s release. “Ubo, what death rock? Have you seen this before? Calm down Ubo, we need to find out what’s happening!”
“Save Karn!” Ubo shouts, dropping Nappa and grabbing the pod’s door, heaving it open, crystals shattering audibly. He struggles to lift the door, the crystals sticking to the door as well. Ubo, with all his might, keeps heaving until its open, the now-solid crystal toppling out, landing on the ground with a thunk. Ubo lifts his fists in an axe-handle, smashing them down on your crystal prison. It shatters, releasing you, you falling limply to the ground. Ubo grabs you by the shoulders, lifting and shaking you panickedly. When he sees you still not moving, but your eyes following him, he sets you down, staring you down with worry.

“Karn, raaaah!” he says, flaring his aura for several seconds, then stopping.
“You want me to copy you?” you think to Ubo, the large man nodding rapidly. You spend a moment, trying to focus your power, then unleash!

You force your power outward, but nothing happens! You feel something fighting your efforts, pulling your power from you, sapping your strength into nothing.

“Enough of this!” you think to yourself, reaching instead into that golden well of power, digging deep into it. You feel your body changing, forcing something out. You feel dozens of the crystal’s shards forced out of you, your power jumping with each one that’s removed, your power climbing higher and higher. Suddenly, you can move!”

“RRRRAAAAAUGH!!!” you shout, golden aura bursting forth and destroying the crystal shards still partly in you.

The effort exhausts you, leaving you laying there panting on the ground. Yet you’ve never felt better, finally able to breathe. You spend a few moments just laying there, enjoying being able to move. Ubo lifts you off the ground, nearly crushing you in his grip.

“Karn okay.” he says, actually tearing up.
“I’m okay Ubo, I’m ok.” you say, limply patting him on the back. “I’m... Oh Kais, Meloka!”
You force yourself from Ubo, staggering over to her pod and looking in. You can’t see past the pink crystal formed, you begin panicking even worse.

“Meloka, no!” you shout, weakly pounding a fist on the pod. Ubo pushing you aside, you falling unsteadily to the floor as Vegeta throws the switch, the door unmoving. Ubo grabs it regardless, fighting to open the crystal-sealed door. He struggles mightily, but he’s unable to open it, the ship’s floor buckling a bit under his feet.

You can’t just sit back and watch, you have to help her! With the crystals gone, you feel your strength recovering. But even Ubo’s power isn’t enough, you need more. Focusing, you dig deep into that well of golden power, your body expanding rapidly and painfully.

“RRRAAAAAAAA!!” you shout out, panting heavily. Transforming in this state is exhausting, your weakened strength already fading. But you have to do this! You stomp over to Ubo, grabbing the door with him, you both heaving with all your might.

“Grrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaa!!!” you shout, the door finally budging as you hear a massive crack. You both force the door open, inch by inch, to the sound of breaking crystals. You can barely make out Meloka’s form inside the crystal. Her entire pod is crystallized, remaining stuck to the inside of the pod. You and Ubo pull your fists back, striking the center of the crystal, it shattering under your combined might. Meloka energes from the mass of shattering crystal, falling limply against you. You lay her on the ground, ear to her chest and feeling for a pulse. She... she doesn’t have one!

You quickly gather golden energy into your palm, leveled at her chest. Ubo’s arm snaps out and grabs your wrist, looking scared.

“Dammit let me go, I have to save her!” you shout, struggling in his grip. But your strength has faded, your body shrinking back to normal. “Dammit! I have to save her!”

“Well, well, well. Isn’t this scene familiar.”
You all jump and turn at the sound, a familiar sight indeed before you.

“Perhaps.” Towa says, gracefully bending down and picking up a shard of the crystal, turning it over and examining it in her palm. “Congratulations, by the way. I told you that you had the potential as well, King Vegeta.”
“Towa, please.” you say pleadingly, your Super Saiyan form fading. “Save her. Please.”

She grimaces at your display, then laughs haughtily, the back of her hand to her mouth.
“Ohoho. Even you have your weaknesses, don’t you Karn.” An, odd expression overcomes her face, looking down at the state you’re in, then sighing out. “Very well, I’ll save her. Stand back.”

Ubo puts your arm around his shoulder, lifting you up and carrying you clear, Vegeta staring at his scouter in confusion. Suddenly, he turns to the doorway, you all turning as well as the door opens.

“Towa, I can’t let you keep changing time!” a purple-haired young man with a sword strapped to his back shouts, drawing his sword and pointing it at Towa. “This ends here!”

You focus on it, and suddenly you sense an unbelievable amount of power held back by that seal. “GRRAAAAAAAAUUUGH!!” you shout out, this strange power flowing through you and strengthening your exhausted body. “I can’t lose her.” you say simply, drawing your Energy Blade with your right hand. “She’s everything to me.”
“I’m sorry, Karn.” the boy says, sighing out. “I know what its like. But this has to happen.”

“HAAAA!” the boy suddenly shouts, transforming into a Super Saiyan as well and charging at you. You shout and charge as well, blade clashing with blade. The shock from the blow rattles the ship, discarded crystals on the floor shattering. You each strain against each other, neither able to gain the edge. If you can’t just overpower him, you’ll win by switching tactics! You let him begin to overpower you, using the force he’s pushing with to twist into a spin, kicking him in the head with your left heel and sending him crashing hard into the wall. You continue the twist, thrusting your blade at this self-righteous asshole’s heart. He brings his sword up at the last moment, deflecting your thrust into the wall. He follows up with a knee to your gut, leaping up and bringing his blade down at you. You swat his strike aside, following up with a backhanded swing. His eyes widen in terror, recognizing the threat.

“HYAAA!” he shouts, firing an Explosive Wave and knocking you back. You return to your stance, staring the boy down, barely restraining your rage. As he rises to his feet you’re rushing again, bringing your blade down at his head. He leaps back, your blade carving a line through his coat as he barely avoids your blade, it piercing through the floor. He rushes up at you, trying to bisect you with a single swing. You draw your blade up, deflecting his strike past you as you grab him by the face, slamming him down and through your ship, crashing into the planet’s surface. You lift your blade to impale him, but before you can strike he fires an Energy Wave from his free hand, you leaping back to dodge it. You land back into your stance, glaring at the boy as he rises, sword pointed at you. He clearly isn’t done yet, there’s still a fire in his eyes.

You glare at the boy, raising your hand and holding your palm at him, fingertips glowing as you gather power. He holds his sword defensively, preparing for your attack. But he isn’t able to defend against them all. Four of your blasts you fire center-mass, the fifth you fire and pierce straight through the boy’s right elbow. He cries out in pain, dropping the sword and grabbing his now-lamed arm, blood seeping from between his fingertips.

“D-Damn you.” he says, through gritted teeth. “Why do you work for that demon?”
“So what if she happens to be a demon?” you say, walking to the boy and kicking his sword away, getting down in his face and shouting. “I don’t see YOU trying to save Meloka, you self-righteous child! How dare you talk down on Towa, when all you’re doing your best to make sure the only woman I’ve ever loved dies!”
“B-But the timeli-“
“You’d let a fellow Saiyan die?” you shout, watching the boy jump, startled. “And for what? Killing a demon who’s done nothing but helped our kind? What kind of Saiyan are you?”

He stares up at you, slack-jawed, your words seemingly hitting him deep. He settles down, all the fight draining from him.

“Karn, that’s enough.”
Turning, you see that pink child from before, when Towa’d saved Meloka. You can sense her ki, and woah. She’s got power, even more than Towa or Freeza. Better play it carefully.
“What do you want?” you ask, eyes narrowing in suspicion.
“Just hear me out. Please.” she says, hands held together before her.
“Supreme Kai of Time.” Trunks says, looking up with hope.
